I like that it's not just one level but multiple and that you have to find a strategy on how to beat the level.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD40 → Loot Grabber

The title screen needs a rework, other than that it was fun to play.
Thanks guys, yeah the title screen was hastily done xD
Great game! I really enjoyed the play-through. I did beat all three levels.
Mechanics feel great. There are various different enemy types. For the most part it's very clear what's happening and what to do.
I was a little confused by the UI and scoring.
@hdtv Thanks for the feedback! Well we are both programmers and we did the best we could while focusing more on the gameplay =P Further ahead we would improve on the UI and making it clearer to the player about what's going on and the different stages
Pretty fun to play I. Spare time
I really love the classic and simplistic look, great work!
More fast paced than games I usually play but fun.
Fun game, would have liked to see a bit more power-ups or similar to get a bit more depth.
Thanks for all the feedback! @emil-sunesson ye we started developing some power-ups but as we ended up not having time for tweaking them properly we decided not to include them ;)
I think if the game gets more developed, standard power ups like attack speed and more projectiles are a good first step.
Plays really well, but would be even better with the controller! The menu looks a bit rough, other than that pretty good game ;)
Loved the music, it went perfectly. I loved the smoothness of the controls as well. Sometimes, picking up the gold was really tough as it required a precise collision, so I'd have to move back/forth attempting to pick up the same piece. I think this could be improved by having the gold being attracted to the player when/if the player got close enough. All in all though, had a fun time. Cool effects and good, fast, engaging gameplay!
good gameplay, very good sound - but I see you opt out :) It was either very easy to lean or very easy to win. None of both is bad :D
Ye the lack of gold attraction is constantly being pointed out as a problem we must work on that! Thanks for the feedback and we will work on making it playable with a controller as well.
@muffty Thanks for the feedback! We opted out because we are not the authors of the sound
had fun playing this, the music volume was a bit high though.
Thanks @Hakunamacouta we will look into that!
This game is awesome! The graphics look really nice, the game play is extremely entertaining, the sounds is addictive and perfectly fits the mood of this game. Minor Ideas for Improvement: Attracting the loot, at least a little bit because the player is very little and does not hit all the score points. Maybe Power Ups or Weapon Upgrades? Awesome Game Keep it up!
Some good quality fast paced arcade goodness. I really enjoyed this one! :D
It was fun and the music gives it the right pace. I would expect it to be a bit harder though.
game is really fun and engaging. I would personally just made coins bigger with bigger colider. It's one thing that they are hard to grab but they are also pretty hard to notice when the pace picks up and there is lot of enemies on screen.
Thanks for all the feedback! @daragongames Yes we have been getting that feedback a lot and we also intended to have Power Ups and loot attraction but we didn't manage to have it properly working by the end of LD sadly. @jlreymendez It could be harder indeed! We didn't have much time to work on that though :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: @xsior We are working on loot attraction and indeed they become hard to notice once chaos sets in
Tiny, tiny, tiny loot to get. Apart from the overall size of things on the screen, the game is really fun to play.
Thanks for feedback! We are working on that
A very fun twin stick shooter with good intensity and pacing. I enjoyed beating the 3 levels. The music adds to the excitement too, though I wish there were sound fx. I love the minimalist look with soft shadows. Good job!
Do try my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/riskreward and let me know what your think. Thanks! ^^
the buttons in the menus didn't really work that well, and in level 3 i lost because i didn't know where the cursor was. It's too small! Anyway, the music was bomb and the graphic style also interesting. I just don't know what it had to do with the theme...
@siepiau Thanks for the feedback! We will make sure to check your game
@nnnikki Thanks for the feedback! We will work on making everything bigger and more noticeable! I'm sorry to hear that you had problem with the menus. Did you have problems clicking the buttons or with the overall aesthetics? As for the theme the levels get harder the more loot you have (although that is not very noticeable - at 1 star enemies start to split when they die and you get a chest which can be shot at and lose loot and at 3 stars enemies start to periodically and randomly become enlarged and stronger) and also the more enemies, the worse it is (although we focused on the loot mechanic for the theme).
I really enjoy the music and the look of this game. It's really satisfying the way the ship swings around when you move the cursor. I wish there was more feedback when you shot/were shot at/collected loot from enemies.
I also did a twin stick shooter for this LD, and it's interesting comparing the differences in our approaches. If you want to check it out, it's here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/polyose
I liked the game! :-) Not sure it was part of the game or not but I kept getting stuck on the walls or my character would just stop moving. Other than that everything seemed to work well. Good job :-D
Thanks for the feedback! @meanmon13 I'm sorry to hear that you had problems with collisions. We will look into that and try to fix it!
What is not to like?
Really fun game. If I have to complain about something it would be about the coin size, but this has already been said.
Great game, I liked the simple graphics and quick gameplay, maybe in the future you could use the same movement you use for mobs on your main ship (it looks like when right is pressed, you move x to the right, and when up is pressed you move that same x up, which means if both x and y are pressed you move sqrt(x^2 + x^2) (which is significantly faster)
Thanks for the feedback! @wizebin Now that you mention it you might be right! That has happened before and might be happening here. We didn't notice it and we didn't even consider it when making the movement. I'll be sure to check it out! Thanks
Really fun gameplay! I have to say I didn't initially notice a significant change in level difficulty as I was picking up the loot and sometimes thought that more enemy were spawning because of the level timer. Also nice choice of music! Good job on your entry!
@youbestrong Thanks for the feedback! Indeed the difficulty increase is something that we should have worked more on but will improve in the future! I guess the intention was good but not perfectly executed
Gameplay is very fun! It's challenging that loot will disappear after a while. You need to keep your movement in a very small area. After I got 3 stars, all I need to do is just moving around the map dodging everything. Overall, good entry!
Thanks a lot for your feedback @pecolyte!

That was a very interesting bullet hell experience! It was especially surprising to see multiple levels and the different types of enemies. Overall, it was a pretty solid twin-stick experience.
I personally think the gameplay would have been a bit more comfortable if the camera was zoomed up just a little bit and the gameplay speed down a little. Most of the time, I felt enemies were spawning and attacking the player way faster than I had time to react and collect the loot dropped by the previously destroyed enemies. Having played with both a controller and mouse, I felt some slight lack of control over the shooting. Even if fired in the direction it was supposed too, it felt like the shooting was too precise, once again, to be able to wipe enough enemies in a zone and be able to collect the loot dropped by the previous ones.
The presentation was also not too shabby and got the job done, although if there was one thing I'd like to point out, is that sometimes the pellets would blend in with the actual dropped loot. Once again, probably a result of the point I pointed previously. It'd also have been nicer to have the loot be just a tiny-itsy-bit bigger to make it easier to collect as well, as others have pointed out above. :moneybag:
Despite the points I pointed out, I still enjoyed my time with it, and it was nice to play another game with controller support. [In behalf of our team](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames), congratulations on this experience and we hope to see more from you in the future! :whale:
