Interesting mechanic, though it's missing something. Maybe it's space, monsters were to big even for normal monsters so the levels maybe fill a bit odd. Specially the boss in the level is too huge.

Pretty hard game you have here! I like it but I would make a few changes.

First the overheat gauge is huge and it is place where the player expects to be able to maneuver. Ships are firing way later than disappearing the screen, personally I didn't liked that a lot. I would expect I could simply forget about them after passing them by, specially in this game where you need to be careful about shooting.

Anyhow I liked the general idea and vibe of the game. Keep it up!

The music is very catchy, I loved that! The art style was also very nice and I liked the MOBA style controls with a twist.

It took me a while to understand what was going on, maybe I should read instructions before starting play. The only complain I have is that the ultimate was way to strong and as both the player and the AI have it pretty much cancels itself out. However I was able to win by using it and quickly adding a combo of hits to the mas of fans.

But in general I liked it and I think that for a JAM this is a great accomplishment!

Ok, I played version 1.0.0 so you are probably aware and maybe fixed the bugs in that. But my game was ended when I felt into a hole and I was allowed to see the entire level by simply moving to the sides. I am a cheater I know!

The game was very hard for me, I think that the matter that the character was too tall and the jump takes you to the roof make it very hard to avoid some of the traps. I think I would play around a bit with the jumping variables.

Sadly I couldn't read the letter at the end because I think I clicked it away to quickly by accident.

The character is really odd at first, just a floating head I first thought it was a bug but then I imagined the truth, it gets more clear after visiting the garden.

I would lock the character movement when you open one of the log entries or letters, it was very weird to move over or behind them.

The End scene seamed a bit off, maybe living the letter in sight would have helped.

To finish, I really liked the art and general mood of the game.

Interesting backfires mechanic, I like it that you can destroy your enemies with it. I found a small bug were the double jump treasure chest would show closed multiple times when revisiting the room, but it's nothing critical.

Pretty nice entry! Those spiders in the attic are impossible to get, they would lay in ambush every time I got near that stair.

I found a few glitches when jumping just out of a stair, the guy would get stuck at something and float for a while.

Finally I got stuck at the bottom of the map at what seemed to be a door but somehow I couldn't get through it.

Great art and sound! I think it is hard to do a humor/serious game so I applaud the effort. However I was almost ready to quit at some point because I wasn't to attracted to the story the only thing that kept me going was the HP Lovecraft reference and the difficult part at the end.

Maybe tying the narrative a bit more to the challenges in the game would help make it the story click with more players.

So I have mixed feelings about this game! I loved the minimalistic art and the mood in general. The floatiness of the player and the way the dark spots consumed you was very well executed.

However I felt some objective was missing, for me simply surviving was just sitting in a corner and eventually grab one light when I was getting below 0.6. So this killed the fun of it!

So congrats on the great work artwise and with the mechanics, but you need to give the design a spin to make it more of a game.

A few remarks about this, it would be good if you added a sound when you hit enemies different then when you swing and miss. Half the time I wasn't sure if I were hitting or not. Also you should add some graphics in the level limits to indicate this, like a wall or something, walking into a invisible wall wasn't what I expected. Last, I am not sure the music fits the mood you were going for, Grim Reaper isn't so grim with that upbeat music.

This is one of the most polished games I played in this LD. Excellent implementation of arts and mechanics! There are a lot of things that could be added in the future to improve the experience, like transit for starters.

But a great entry!

Just one comment regarding the audio I would tweak the volumes of the different sounds sources so they are all in ballance. Right now the crickets are very loud.

Turning is hard until you get use to it. We did some improvements to it but it is still sometimes difficult.

Thank you for your feedback @mambojambo! Yes, totally true we need to review the game design variables and maybe add a few mechanics to help the merchants out. But as you said we did have little time to do it, in fact it was just the last thing we did and with only a few hours to test it. We might go back and make a better playtest and analyze it soon.

Your feedback is appreciated @shyguy567! The scoring works like this: you get many points for sinking ships and a few for each coin you have. The thing is that when you sink a ship you steal coins from them so they lose some more points and you earn some more points (in addition to the sinking scoring). Sinking ships is by far the most effective in this version. Also thanks for reporting that bug!

Nice art! Gameplay needs a bit work I was able to finish the game by simply place spike traps all the way to the diamonds and upgrading them to the highest level. After that it was just watching them die (can ghost die again?)

Also I would expect all ghost to be able to avoid this physical traps, maybe go with goblins, ratmen or whatever.

Pretty neat idea! I agree with what @mshopf has said a little warning before the heroes will need their stuff before becoming useless would be nice. Or maybe they should check their inventory before entering combat (or at least just for a while, so you don't have enough time to provide for all of them)

I like the art of this a lot! Loved the way you handle the start button to be use to start each game, fantastic!

I am not a fun of clickers, but I think you did a really great job. However I wasn't sure if the strategy was just simply going on a clicking frenzy or whether I should be careful and not click on the popups content (since that's what I would try to avoid in real life).

Good work on this entry! I have a few remarks I would add a different sound when the hero is hit something more like a yell and then I would use the current sound to indicate when enemies get hit (even when using the arrows). It was hard to know whether I was hitting more than I was getting hit, specially in melee. So sounds would greatly help here.

Is there an ending to the game or do you keep fighting until you die? I wasn't very good surviving so that's why I ask.
