This is kind of a cool idea. That being said, maybe I'm doing something wrong but only the first character can be moved. So if i have 2 characters 'q' moves the first one, but 'w' doesn't do anything. i tried to spam out a bunch of characters and test other letters too but still only the first guy moved. So yeah, that kind of defeats the purpose of the game i guess. That being said, very cool interpretation of the theme!
Realistic depiction of attempting to park your car during the holiday rush. Solid.
That's a pretty fun idea! I liked it, I'd give the player a bit more initial funds to get to the first cow purchase faster though!
This is one of the most charming games I've played all jam! Everything about it is really really damn solid. Art, Music, Voice acting, Sound effects, Programming. Everything mashes together really really well and creates a unique personality for the game. I don't know if the core idea can be taken too much further than this jam, but the team you guys put together should 100% keep making games. You guys can make some really really good, really really unique stuff! So please go do that!
This is pretty dope! It's not easy to do the super simplistic low res monochrome style, but i think you nailed it! A few of the lines made me smile, so bonus points for humor! A couple of simple animations would have been nice to show who was doing what. Good amount of content too! Great job!
Fun little platformer. For the first few levels it was a bit hard to tell what was going on because of all the particle effects and small color palette, so that could have used some toning down to have players get used to what everything looks like. That being said, the visuals are really pleasing overall!
I beat the world record. Having multiple unique drawings for different weights is a nice touch!
This is a really interesting game. I have no idea how you managed this much complexity in 48 hours, great job. This does seem like a game made for programmers though, i don't think the average gamer would figure it out. I do think if you added some work into teaching the mechanics to the player you could probably release this as a full game. Really good job!
Fun little game! The graphics are pretty damn slick. Good job!
Sad thing you opted out of audio, that beatbox was dope! I also used to karate ( I think it's about a decade ago or so that i stopped ), so you get bonus points for giving me a bit of nostalgia there! The game felt alright, the combat felt pretty snappy, at least in terms of the players moves. The enemies didn't actually have any attack noises so that made them feel less forceful. Overall, it was pretty cool! Oss!
Well, i tested this with mouse and keyboard. Nothing happens. With my xbox controller pressing buttons makes the corresponding circles disappear, but that's about it. The animation looks alright though, and any game about drinking our of a shoe gets bonus points from me.
This isn't starting for me.
Damn, that's a really cool way to implement the theme! Good job, everything works well!
This could benefit a lot from a better system for aiming. The mouse would probably work a lot better. The arrow keys just don't really work for this kind of thing. I really liked the music, you know your way around piano keys!
@amras0000 Wow, thanks for the in-depth feedback, really appreciate it! Certainly agree with you on the gameplay - narrative dissonance, figuring out mechanics that work with the story rather than parallel to it is something I'll be looking to improve on in the future.
@gwolf86 I actually had a UI element programmed in, but it started bugging out and going on the wrong screen region in like the last 30 minutes of the compo, so i decided to just scrap it rather than risk not being able to wrap up the game in time.
This is cool! The collision on the enemy swords felt a little weird at times, maybe that's just me though. The audio was well one too, albeit it could use a look at the volume on some of the sounds. The visuals were also very nice! Great job, this one has potential to take it further!
This is a really interesting one! The choice of mechanics here are very interesting, very innovative and a really cool spin on the theme! The music, audio, and graphics are all on point, they mash together quite well and make for a unique personality for the game! While the mechanics aren't being taken to the limit of what they can do, that is totally understandable for a jam. That being said, i think with some more work this could be expanded into something awesome and fresh! Good job!
This is actually really really cool. The AI of the sheep was very well done, for the most part their movements felt natural. This is a really fun little game. Honestly i think you could give it a few coats of polish, add some more levels, tinker with the AI a little more and release it for like a dollar or two. You could probably do all that in 100-150 hours. A level editor and a couple more mechanics would make it worth the price tag I think. Good job!
This was actually weirdly hilarious. Your head getting bigger from coins is an interesting spin on the coin idea, and the implementation sort of made me laugh. The controls could use some work, they're pretty slippery right now. The music and sound effect for dying were on point though, great audio overall :D
Alright, here's the biggest problem with the game. It's the jump. It has so little height you can't even jump over projectiles, and it's so floaty that even if you could jump over them you couldn't possibly react in time. That being said, i thought the graphics were pretty solid, in particular the character animation was very good, and the idea could be made into something cool with some more work!
Alright, you get a lot of bonus points for going in and tackling a serious topic. Not a lot of people do that in games! That being said, the actual mechanics could use a lot of work. The biggest problem by far over here is the jump. I'm assuming it was done using the Unity rigidbody2D physics. Messing around with the gravity and angular drag on your player character to make the jump more responsive would be a huge step up. The graphics weren't bad!
Really fun game! Those are some solid mechanics! I feel like this could probably be made into a small couch co-op game with a little more work! Great job!
I see the start of an interesting narrative in there, always a bold move to attempt story in a 48 hour jam, so you get bonus points for that. That being said i didn't really get what was going on, or how this related to the theme. The game did just stop after i killed the big boss dude and displayed a few more lines of text, so maybe i missed out on half the game. Also, i thought the atmosphere was kind of cool, the sound effects were dope!
This is pretty fun, not gonna lie. You could probably make it into a mobile game!
One of the best entries I've played so far! The visuals in particular are top notch! I think i had a bug happening on my end making it so i couldn't buy new guns, even though i had the money to do so. Also possible I'm a dummy and didn't figure out how to though. The first gun felt pretty useless so i just ran past all enemies, but i suppose buying new guns would have changed that.
Really solid job overall, those 48 hours didn't go to nothing. Personally i think it's better to work 40 and sleep 6-7, but i have to admire the steel determination needed to go for 48 straight hours!
I think you forgot to put the download link in.
