I downright loved this. I also took this theme on with an RPG but man, this was pretty damn awesome.
I had a lot of fun playing it, soundtrack was enjoyable, and artwork was pretty cool. There really isn't anything negative about this, maybe pixel art would fit best this style but that's just me. Thank you for this amazing work, fantastic job!
A well executed simple idea. Wish the controls were better, had a hard time positioning the boxes where I wanted. I also noticed that there were two trucks delivering boxes too late, oops.
Overall a pretty good Jam game, good job!
Solid and fun gameplay, nice retro graphics, pretty inherent to the theme as well.
I wish the chain would go back if it doesn't hit anything at the maximum possible length and that jumps were more dynamic(either double jump or hold to jump higher), I fell a lot :p
Either way I liked it, great job!
Solid gameplay, inherent to the theme and fun to play. Lovely graphics. Only downside is controls, wish they were more responsive.
Great job!
I can't exactly describe how amazed I was when I saw how beautiful this game is. Its artwork is something exquisite, I can't believe you managed to draw all that stuff in just 3 days!
The game itself is extremely polished and smooth, the mechanics are quite simple but fun, and the music, ohh the music, I loved it so much.
A beautiful masterpiece, fantastic job everyone on the team!
Loved this game, really smooth and fun gameplay! Nicely done, only downside is probably AI, everyone moving completely random can be a bit boring, some pre-defined patterns chosen at random would have been better probably
Fantastic job nonetheless, keep it up!
Oh, I love this! Such a good platformer! Only complain is, at least for the web version, framerate seemed to drop down randomly.
It was fun, beautiful sounds and art, great job!
Simple and nicely done, although the mechanic got repetitive after a while. I didn't feel like the game wanted me to keep playing it, there was nothing to expect by completing the game.
The artwork was nice but I think a 16-bit or 8-bit style would fit the game better considering its simple mechanics. Overall nice and smooth but could have done better, good job.
Damn I love this retro art-style, if you check out my game you'll notice I used a very similar palette :P
The game feels extremely smooth and responsive, loved the characters and level design. Only downside is the short music loop, which became annoying very quickly :<
I enjoyed the game nonetheless, fantastic job!
The game became repetitive pretty quickly, sadly, although I could see the theme in the slowness of your character when dragging gold. More attention should have been paid to details such as bullets, attack animations, and enemy variety.
The gameplay was pretty solid though, with a little bit more variety this would have been a lot more fun.
This is pure genius. Such a simple yet fun idea. Although the theme is not present, I loved it. Great job.
Can't send ships, only when I started the game it managed to send 1 ship after a while.
Am I doing something wrong?
This is so good! Congratulations are in order. I loved everything, only thing is audio was a bit annoying at times, but the game was fun regardless.
Great job!
I had trouble aiming cause I have 3 monitors and the cursor wasn't locked and whenever the cursor was out of the game's window, grabbing gifts stopped working correctly.
Except for that the game was pretty polished and nice, cute music and concept, nicely done!
I'm sorry but I'll have to give a 5/5 to most ratings. This is awesome! How the hell did you achieve such level of polishness, beauty and solid gameplay in such a small amount of time?
The game is fun, graphics are aesthetic, music is catchy, sound effects fit with everything else, I'm truly stunned by this. Fantastic job, keep it up!
The audio was pretty funny, but the gameplay mechanic was maybe too simple. It could use some improvements.
This is surprisingly fun, I could keep on playing for a couple of hours without getting bored which is pretty difficult to achieve in 3 days.
Although I don't feel the Theme presence in the game, nor humor of any kind, it was still nice to play, good job.
This is simply fantastic. The game's design is so funny and everything fits perfectly with the game's idea (the wobbly hand, the goofy NPCs, the weird calls and so on). Would love to see a full game with different stuff to do about this.
Fantastic job, keep it up!
I loved this. Very true to the theme, fun, lovely graphics and solid gameplay. Fantastic job!
Quite a fun game, but I really disliked the audio (sorry!) it was killing my ears.
I used this beautiful sound maker called [ChipTone](http://sfbgames.com/chiptone/?s=eNpjYJJY7_SHkcnumlYbAxDUN4BIhlVMHMJ59f_t_zP6_YYIOopDaJ8zEDpyBiofRqulQQ1hX2dsxDARyLD_DxGB0UQIMKDyYWbC7Kz_D4Ly_4F8ABMMMng.) which I really recommend if you're planning on participating the next Jam/Compo! Easy to use and beautiful sounds
All in all the game was pretty good, variety, power-ups, enemies, solid gameplay, nice! Good job.
Very nice, I tried doing nothing and it seems you cannot really "lose" at this game x) but it was a beautiful experience, good job!
Lovely graphics, fantastic mechanic, beautiful soundtrack. I really enjoyed it, wish I could restart after dying (am I doing something wrong?)
It was quite challenging but fun, really good job on this!
This is pretty good! Only suggestion for a next time is to make multiple levels for the game instead of one big level where you set your own difficulty.
Aside from that, good job!
Thank you for your feedback! @stadoblech You're exactly right about the tutorial part. It was the last thing on my TODO list but I couldn't finish it in time and, as far as I know, adding a tutorial now would be breaking the rules. If I'm mistaken please let me know!
@ayxs Damn, I should have made the walking between fights longer :P
If more people enjoy my game I would love to continue working on it and bringing a multiplayer component as well.
@josue Glad you liked it :>
I followed your advice and added instructions on the game page, I realize just now how complicated the game mechanics sound. Probably should have made it simpler, oh well.
Ahh I couldn't be happier to read these comments! Thank you all so much for your beautiful feedback c:
Wish I had more time for a better tutorial :<
@fullmontis I'm sorry about the symbols confusion, if I'll have the chance to continue this game's development, I will certainly fix that by either using better-suited characters/icons.
@ponchoguy Glad you had a good time :> I didn't have much time for the audio since there was a lot of programming to do for this, but I'll make sure to improve that if there'll be a better version. Also I like your idea, we planned to have some special attack added to the game and that sounds like a good way to introduce it! Thanks.
Thank you all for the glorious feedback, it really makes me super happy to know the things I make can be enjoyed by others. I try to prioritize the fun element in any game project I make, as I believe that's the essence of videogames.
If the artist Sophie didn't tag along last minute, you would have had something like this old_protagonist.png or this old_protagonist_v2.png so yeah, I'm really glad she decided to join me for this Ludum Dare ^^'' although without proper tools, turning the images digital was quite a pain, but worth it.
@rixium I'll have the artist know about your feedback! As for the tutorial, I relatively recently added a thorough description about the game's mechanics, there was nothing like that before so comments about it are probably from before I added such description. This said, I really hope to continue development and add a proper in-game tutorial.
@roy87 Thank you! I'm not on indiexpo though, should I make a page there? Let me know if/when you make a video about this by the way :>
Thank you :>
@eri0o Nice finishing move choice :^] and glad you enjoyed it!
@james-dunlap If there's something you'd like to know about the mechanics feel free to ask, I realize I did a fairly poor job introducing the player to them, I paid too much attention to little details and by the time I realized the importance of a tutorial it was too late.
#### *By the way, has any of you spotted the tiny secrets in the game's sprites? There may be something hidden in objects fired...*
Artwork.png ComputerMan_attacks1.jpg
@james-dunlap Yep, filling one of the enemy's columns will result in his death. Dumber enemies will barely switch their selected column, while smarter ones will try to avoid having their column filled as much as possible. Of course, in the future there'll be more intriguing AI which try to empty their own grid.
While emptying grids feels satisfying, it is something you should keep for yourself and avoid doing that on the enemy :P
@josef21296 Hah you got me hoping 8 different people posted comments on my game x) Glad you liked it though c:
@georgebgreen Thank you! I really hope to get a chance to expand this game. I loved creating this and the mechanic was still work-in-progress as I made the game itself. I changed so many things during development, but I'm glad how it turned out, it leaves me way more options for when I'll continue development and make variations on the current system.
Thank you all for your precious feedback! I truly appreciate it.
@robinhoodpt I tried your team's game out, and it's really quite amazing! Receiving compliments from someone who participated in making that masterpiece is quite nice indeed :>
I'm sorry about the mechanics inconvenience, as I previously explained I still didn't exactly have an idea of how the mechanics themselves should be, so I ended up taking more time than necessary trying to build a system I wasn't sure of myself. And you're right, it gets pretty easy once you figure it out, I plan to add some better AI, different NPC responses (not just imitating your attacks) and a proper tutorial with top priority.
Regarding the symbols, it'd be best to play the game at fullscreen mode, but a change in symbols is also planned, either a better font or straight out icons. They were mainly picked as an easy way to show players that there are 4 different pieces that can go in the grid.
@vasco-rodrigues @falak @harusame @racso @edmond00 Thank you all so much for your feedback! I'm really happy to see people actually having fun playing our game, it fills me with joy.
@racso @edmond00 You're right, the battles are longer than they should be considering how simple the game's mechanic really is. I sadly didn't have time to introduce enough variations, but I really should spend some time even for an early concept of how varied the game can be with the mechanic's base logic in play.
I'm deeply sorry it annoyed/bored you, with the way the mechanic works now, it was the only way to actually add difficulty to the game, but it costed more than I hoped for. Still, I appreciate your feedback and will do my best to improve!
Pretty cool idea, but as previously said the down button speeds the game too much and it doesn't speed up the timer!
Apart from that the game was pretty nice, loved the music and mood. Good job.
Loved it, awesome visuals, graphics, sounds and design. I wish the gameplay was a little more intuitive on how to attack the enemies. A way to drop the carrying treasure (or self-lose health) and restore your view-range would be a nice thing too. Overall, fantastic experience, theme was carried through as well. Awesome job.
As a fellow developer I got something to ask, how did you achieve that Teleglitch-like graphic effect of walls blocking your view? I'm working on an isometric-view rogue-like and I gave up on achieving that effect but now I see it done in 3 days. cool effect.png
A puzzly mechanic indeed, it was fun to try and move all blocks to the course end, but it was way too punishing :<
Losing one block makes you restart all over again, it became frustrating very quickly. Praises for the mechanic though, good job.
Fantastic! I loved this, really. One of the few games with some kind of "campaign/story" behind it, quite enjoyable and relatively challenging. Nice pixel art and fitting music, loved the game's mood too.
I see you opted out of "Humor" which some other developers forgot to do for more serious games, so all high marks for you~
I loved the music, the game was very polished and nice to play, adherent to the theme as well. Good job!
Really nice job, an extremely simple idea developed in a very fun way.
Really quite liked it, nicely done!
Intriguing idea, wish controls and UI were better though. True to the theme although not particularly fun. Good job nonetheless!
I really didn't expect it to turn out this way, great job on the story and mood of the game. Although I can't say the same about gameplay, curiosity pushed me to the end of the game. An overall nice experience, nicely done.
I liked it, inherent to the theme and polished. If the level changed getting more difficult to move around, it would have been even nicer.
Good job.
http://puu.sh/yzQVj/1bada95068.png Can't start the game.
Lovely graphics and sound, the gameplay is very polished, nicely done! I wish controls were different or just easier to use, I had a hard time trying to move my spaceship properly.
Fantastic job nonetheless!
I didn't quite understand when I was doing well, only when I was doing bad (confused looks). You should consider adding some kind of meter of how "understandable" or "human" you seem to others.
Regardless of this, it was a very nice experience I didn't expect, very good job! I loved this.
Really nice and quite fun, wish there was an option to manage the volume though ;-;
Good job!
