I like this alot! Nice work!

2017-12-04 05:01

Pretty good for a 48 hour game enjoyed playing it :) good luck.

darylsteak 2017-12-04 05:17

A nice, funny lil game, I liked it.

geeitsomelaldy 2017-12-04 16:48

With great power comes great property damage.

Excellent work.

xacur 2017-12-04 17:10

Good game, fun and weird. I'm amazed that you could put cut scenes in your game, I wanted but didn't have time, lol.

2017-12-04 17:44

Excellent game, it's interesting what you can make in just 2 days of work! nice plot and pretty catchy too. Tried to finish it to 0 enemies, but this Yottaman became so strong that any mistake meant the end of humanity, haha.

Good luck! I Liked it

simonhutchinson 2017-12-04 22:53

Great compo entry, especially considering you've got sound and music too. I definitely blew up the world several times, but at least it was just the Americas.

tinyworlds 2017-12-05 00:52

That music made stuff really fun! :D Was fun to kind of live this "power fantasy" for a bit. Text was sometimes a little hard to read, maybe you could have put a text-box behind it for better contrast. All in all a fun game!

oxrock 2017-12-05 02:29

No such things as too much power, stop being a crybaby planet! ><

Solid entry.

bradleysmith 2017-12-05 03:18

I dunno why, but this reminds me of burnt face man. It's pretty awesome. xD

sirjupitron 2017-12-05 15:05

Nice art and animations!

talia 2017-12-06 00:40

haha really fun to play! I very like the animation of the character. But the bullets of the enemies are little bit to small. Great entry!

belea 2017-12-06 00:47

I have loved that combination of humor-art-sound. Good Job!

chaosinism 2017-12-06 01:10

A humorous game with a great concept! The graphics and music suit the game well. I do not know if it is designed on purpose, but it seems that one strategy is to just fly high and wait enemies to disappear automatically...

racso 2017-12-06 01:20

@chaosinism Thanks! Actually, that doesn't work: the counter of "Remaining enemies" shows the amount of enemies to be spawned yet. They are simply spawning while you are up there; if you get back to the ground, you'll find an army of enemies!

chaosinism 2017-12-06 01:22

@racso Yeah what you said is true. Thanks for your answer!

eric-florio 2017-12-06 01:58

Interesting! But I didn't know why or when I was destoying the place. Maybe some visual feedbacks could help. Nice job!

racso 2017-12-06 02:14

@eric-florio Thanks! Just to clarify: when you get power upgrades, you start destroying it with your lasers and with bullets that bounce on your body.

eric-florio 2017-12-06 02:21

@racso But is there something I could do about it? Is it possible to kill all the bad guys without destroying america? hehehe

racso 2017-12-06 02:30

@eric-florio Haha, sure. You need two things: to evade the enemies' bullets, and to aim your lasers so they don't hit the buildings, the floor or the car. It gets difficult, but can be done!

renan-prates 2017-12-06 02:46

I like too much, the idea, it's pretty nice, but really difficult haha, congrats!

thepelranthean 2017-12-06 03:20

This is indeed difficult, but a well executed game. The graphics were simple but effective and you even managed to get sound in there!

The bullet bouncing was a bit confusing to me and it took two tries to figure out that it was causing damage to the world. Not sure how you could make that more intuitive though. Maybe larger more obvious bounces?

Either way, I greatly enjoyed how your invincibility in the first part is essentially reversed to being really, really, really careful at the end. Nicely done.

kashif 2017-12-06 03:45

Very Enjoyable

shinyogre 2017-12-06 04:05

Great game. Fun, funny, and a clever take on the theme.

eggshelldog 2017-12-06 06:03

Really good way to fit the theme! It's always a good topic about how much damage superhero did! btw I get an error at last 10 enemies, that's my best score :joy:

racso 2017-12-06 13:57

Hi, @goldranger. What kind of error did you get? Did the game crash? Where you playing the web version, or the desktop version? Has it happened once or several times? Thanks for the help!

eggshelldog 2017-12-06 14:26

@racso Oh, I am sorry. as a jammer, I should mention that how the error happened more clearly, I think I actually lose and get the error at the same time. There may be some calculation problem when it went to the ending, The page just jumps out a message box and having a lot of line with same pattern (I think it may be an array name?). After I click Enter, the game just freezed. BTW I played on chrome and I just played the game one more time, this time I lose on remaining 19 enemies and I got to the end normally. I found that there are more than one ending (lava/broke into two half). The problem may be here?

masadow 2017-12-06 21:20

Wow, mind blowing game. That music fits insanely well in this game, even if I don't really like the aim (Missiles goes above mouse pointer), the rest feels epic and I could play hours on this game at its current state.

It's the best entry I've seen so far, really good job man, 5/5 in every categories !

mikomikisomi 2017-12-06 21:28

Very nice and fast-paced! I couldn't finish the game (max I got was 60 enemies left) but I still like this entry. Good job!

racso 2017-12-06 21:38

@masadow Thanks for your kind and encouraging words! I'm really happy you liked the game that much!

Actually (unless you've found some bug I haven't seen), that "bad aiming" effect is a visual effect, consequence of moving and shooting at the same time, as the lasers go from the point where they are created to the point where you clicked. If you are moving, the camera moves with you, and the lasers may seem to 1) have appeared from weird places (like the back of the hero's head, his body or out of nowhere) and 2) arrive to a wrong spot. If you shoot while staying still, the laser should appear in Yottaman's eyes and touch your pointer's tip when moving. I'm still to find a way to avoid that undesired visual behaviour.

steven-pinto 2017-12-06 22:00

Damn! I set the whole place on fire! Hahahaha. Well done, I like the concept :) All the best! Pls feel free to play and rate my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/split

talisra22 2017-12-06 22:02

gruhh 2017-12-06 22:08

The game is interesting, it has a good dynamic. It would be interesting more feedbacks for a future release. And the bullet thrown by the enemies could be bigger because it is difficult to see, and being something significant, "bigger is better". Congratulations.

:flag_br:

exnihilo 2017-12-06 22:55

You managed to squeeze quite a lot of features into this for a 48h game. Well done.

deathray 2017-12-07 04:17

Great marks for innovation and humor. The artwork was great, and I really like the concept. I think this was very well done. The only things I would change is make it so the lasers only burn buildings if you miss -- otherwise it's not worth trying to shoot criminals that are near a building. Also would be good if the game only ended after a lot more chaos and fire. Feels like a burned one care and I was done.

cliff-lee-cl 2017-12-07 07:46

Great game with good concept for the theme!

However, the game is difficult after "Dangerous” power. Almost every moves damage some properties lol.

Great work!

tuism 2017-12-07 08:58

Really interesting, I love the concept and the writing is really fun.

The problem though is the feedback - it's really hard to tell when you've hit stuff accidentally, and the way the game is designed it's very hard to avoid hitting things - being careful is one thing, having to line up weird angles like straight into the ground and such is not much fun, and distracts from the "narrative" - the player is now gaming a system rather than feeling like a crime-fighting overpowered superhero.

There should also be some incentive to hit enemies rather than "just because", like, are *they* causing destruction?

Oh and how you "get more power" seems arbitrary to me? That bit's really weird. You just get it out of the blue.

seano 2017-12-08 13:08

brilliant idea and well executed

tom-panton 2017-12-08 20:22

Great job! Making the player's attacks more and more dangerous is a really interesting way to increase the difficulty with time. Fits the theme very well.

turbulentwinds 2017-12-09 04:11

I enjoyed this game! However, I do have a wishlist:

1. More enemy diversity and more mechanics (such as a second attack that can put out fires but does something else bad)

2. Clearer mechanics. I didn't really get what made my power go up. I would love a graphic that shows what is happening under the hood.

Other than that it was good!

honest-dan 2017-12-09 22:37

I hope marvel incorportate Yottoman into their comics soon, he was the best. This was extremely good for a compo entry, really good job. I was a bit unsure how I was ending the game, but got used to it in the end. <3

ted 2017-12-10 15:34

Great writing and animation. :)

loveapplegames 2017-12-10 21:44

This is the kind of thing I would like to see done with the theme! Implementation can be improved though. The action seemed random. Apparently I cannot die from enemy bullets. I didn't have any idea how I damaged the world without even firing. Enemies were a bit floaty too.

racso 2017-12-10 21:55

@loveapplegames Hi, thanks for the comment! If you want to give it a try again, I can assure you that the gameplay is well defined. Sadly, I've concluded that the game isn't as intuitive as I wished. Some quick tips:

- You gain power levels with time. - You are too powerful to be damaged by bullets, but in power levels higher than "Some", bullets bounce in your body and can damage the world if they hit something! Conclusion: *evade the bullets*! - Your laser also damages the world when you are in levels higher than "Some". Conclusion: *aim your laser* well so it only hits the enemies! - In "Apocalyptic" level, your powers are too extreme, and don't give room for mistakes!

That's it. I hope you can give it another try! Thanks for playing!

jessefreeman 2017-12-11 22:58

Interesting take on the theme. I was running into some performance issues in the web player on mac but could see the potential. I think it should be clearer what you are doing and that there is some kind of negative effect happening... I was clueless until I burned up all of North and South Americas :P

paulhocker 2017-12-12 03:42

i like this game - it just did not last long enough because powers became to great too quickly - good game

seannoonan 2017-12-12 21:19

The ending is pretty funny, though I do get a little triggered when I see a curse word censored.

Wasn't really sure what determined success either.

Quite a lot in the game for the time available though!

racso 2017-12-12 23:22

@seannoonan Haha, the censorship was because I wasn't sure if the rules said something about cursing and didn't have the time to check. This is my first LD, so I wanted to be careful ;)

You win if you manage to destroy all the enemies. It's a bit hard, but possible after you understand what do you need to do to avoid losing (there are some tips on the top of this page).

Thanks for playing!

reality-blind 2017-12-13 11:41

That was a clever way to use the theme, and the music is really encouraging you to continue playing !

I didn't succeeded to win the game, I always ended up destroying everything, I found it easy to damage the world without even noticing it, but that should be because of my lack of skill

wolfo 2017-12-13 13:29

A nice idea, though I was damaging the world without noticing it (I was being careful not to hit anything but the thieves) but it was fun nonetheless, good job!

racso 2017-12-13 15:40

@wolfo Thanks for playing! You probably weren't evading the enemy bullets. They bounce in your body with so much power that they set the world on fire ;) After you become more powerful, they break the world in half with a single hit :)

moski 2017-12-14 22:43

If you think the One-Punch Man guy is strong, you haven't met Yottoman. He's so strong he crashed my browser.

chrome_2017-12-14_17-35-05.png

This is a fantastic Compo game, and a very creative way of using the theme. Making a thing so utterly strong it's actually worse for everyone. The idea of deflecting a bullet so hard it can level a building is hilarious. Fun to control, and the introduction and game over scenes were a treat. The game is easy, but actually finishing it is extremely tricky.

I don't know how often that bug I screenshot happens. It occurred when I was on apocalytpic strength and fired into the sky. Quite funny when you think about it.

Still, a fantastic compo game. Loved it. [My team](twitter.com/whalesandgames) will look forward to seeing more of your projects in the future. Cheers! :whale:

racso 2017-12-14 22:54

@moski Wow, thanks a lot! I'm quite happy you liked it, specially after playing Jazzy Beats and seeing what you guys could do!

I'm really sorry for the crash, especially because I see that you were about to win the game. I've tested the game again and I couldn't reproduce it, but I'll keep trying. The hard thing is to get to know if it's actually something under my control or if it's some Unity bug :(

Thanks again for playing!

cjuan94 2017-12-27 14:14

racso 2017-12-27 22:51

@talisra22 Hi. I just noticed your comment, and, if you have some time, it would be awesome if you could provide me with some feedback about the game. What did you like and what didn't you like? I would appreciate your opinion!

nax-89 2017-12-28 12:08

Votado, se siente muy pulido en general, y eso esta buenisimo, se le podría agregar un poco de "juice" cuando vas destruyendo la ciudad para que sea más divertido/más notorio, fuera de eso, está genial el resto. Felicitaciones!
