LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

The Dark Castle by Joror 2017-12-06T16:10:56Z

It's awesome! Well done! You probably know what is good about it, but I'll tell you what I think anyway. I love the UI, I know there isn't much of one, but it's well designed, and everything is very easy to understand. I love tabletop and this reminds me of something that could be a tabletop (Do you have a tabletop inspiration? I want to buy it.) I like the idea, and I think you should expand on it and polish it some more.

Recommendations: - Better transitions between screens. - More sound effects so you can hear what you do. - Variation in the music, as it was fairly repetitive.

None the less, it's really good, and one of the best I've played in the JAM.

PS. I'm a dirty little succubus plaything, btw.

Monolith by Sir Magic 2017-12-05T19:16:16Z

Awesome graphics, I disappeared at one point of a play through, not sure where I went (perhaps tapping too much, and going off screen was the problem as I guess blocks hadn't instantiated yet, and I fell, or something. I love that it's a simple one button game. It would be pretty cool for mobile, Unity has a mobile export, I think (?). I would consider it, now most of the game is complete.

Cheese Stealing Mice by gatinmnsok 2017-12-05T18:54:44Z

Mice bowling, Ha ha. Didn't expect my arm to become 4 meters long.

Student Loan Simulator 2017 Ramen Edition by smbe19 2017-12-05T19:11:41Z

Pretty good, and has a sense of strategy. Interesting take on the theme, but some music and sounds would have been great. Cool game.

I made a mistake trying to cheat with more loans. I don't think it helped. :)

Daily Debug Dash by Elemental Zeal Game Studios 2017-12-05T19:01:45Z

Those damn emails! This is really awesome, and would be an interesting tool for learning programming too. I really like it.

Catch for cash by flip120 2017-12-05T14:25:43Z

This is great. Love the artwork, and it plays so smoothly. It would have helped if I could move the camera to look down or something as it was hard to time the guards movement before descending. Music was as a little repetitive but still really good.

Dimension Leak by muumeroinen 2017-12-05T18:49:35Z

It's really good, and I love the effects. Biggest issues with it are the lack of sound and music (?) and the damn shift key. Sticky keys killed me man :(

The Curse of Power by sbeif 2017-12-06T15:59:50Z

Game is unique among other games I've played in the jam. I like the idea of keeping alive the civilians, and the multiple endings is a nice touch. Art work could use refining, and some of the animations, but you're not rated on that so not a massive problem.

Cat Clicker by Mr.MadCat 2017-12-05T18:51:49Z

Damn you got me, freakin' cats everywhere! Love it!

Ed's City by Fedor 2017-12-05T00:21:36Z

I don't understand how to play, I try to build, but a person spawns and I lose.

Edit: I figured it out, I needed to build power first. Haha. Awesome!

Risky Robbery by Markus 2017-12-05T11:03:27Z

Really cool concept!

USS Deep Explorer by Bismark 2017-12-05T14:56:46Z

Keep going with the game, pretty cool. Shame there's no music and sound. Found the artefact but everyone was dead. :(

Tower of Mana by Pedro Henrique Cesar 2017-12-06T16:16:35Z

It's well made, and the art work is great. I find the music a little repetitive though, but as it's a jam and time is limited, it's good enough. I didn't feel like there was much feedback given when I did something in terms of sound, so maybe you were short on time, but in future changes it'd be nice to have more sounds. I found the game very difficult too, and it didn't really ease you in to the mechanics which is the biggest problem.

Overall, I think it's a pretty good game, and think as a endless runner mobile game it would be quite successful.

Amitosis by Pixel Maniacs 2017-12-06T16:22:11Z

Very well made. It screams quality. The music is fantastic, and the artwork is very well designed. I have no problems with it other than that damn shift key binding.

Dem Colors by tthe 2017-12-05T14:17:38Z

Really cool. I love that I can see the paths that things will take before the wave. It's a shame you didn't include audio as it would have really helped. The zoom function surprised me pleasantly, on my tiny screen. Awesome!

RQ5: backup-dancer rampage! by Adrien Dittrick 2017-12-05T14:49:27Z

Pretty cool puzzle game. I also feel like the tempo is low, so I understand you have fixed that, but nice game.

KissaGame by azuredraco 2017-12-06T16:03:28Z

I like the art, and with some adjustments and more animations, I think it would be really nice and stylistic. I didn't really like the movement, I got stuck a lot in the corners, and a felt like I was glued to walls at time - I'm not sure if this was intentional. Pretty fun idea though, and good for a jam game, well done!

Rattendorf by NoAim91 2017-12-05T14:43:43Z

Wow. This is great, it feels almost complete. The art work is fantastic. The music could use some variety but it wasn't bad, the sounds were all awesome.

I would purchase this if it was made in to a full game, I'm impressed.

I found a bug: sometimes when you try to purchase an item and you don't have enough money, it'll be shown as green behind the button, if you sneak the mouse off the button slightly and click, you can purchase it and your funds will go into negative.

SpaceBallz by The Triumvirate 2017-12-05T14:39:23Z

I'm getting noclassdeffounderror. So I can't play, sadly.

Computer-Man RPG by Wolfo 2017-12-06T15:53:51Z

Nice game, artwork is really cool. Others said tutorial was a bit fast and not the best, but you outlined the rules well in the description - and the idea of how to play isn't too difficult to understand, so it's not a massive problem. I don't really have anything bad to say. Reminds me of Cuphead some how, and it would probably be cool as a feature of a full game.

Galactic Avaritia by Zatherz 2017-12-05T10:43:46Z

Pretty awesome. Love the artwork. Good play on the theme.

Evil Money by interpol 2017-12-05T18:41:24Z

I really love this. With better music, and more fleshed out art, I would be happy buying this. Awesome!

Inky Pinky Square by Psychedelia 2017-12-05T00:24:02Z

It doesn't meet the theme really. Nice music, and well done on finishing the jam.

Edit: I didn't die on my first placethrough, and didn't realise that was when you introduced the theme. I changed my ratings to reflect this. Pretty cool and innovative.

Don't get drunk by tulipekoni 2017-12-05T19:03:56Z

Wow, that was fun. I actually enjoyed it a lot even when 'drunk' too. The effect didn't make me dizzy, so overall great game.

Warehouse Worker by Rixium 2017-12-05T14:59:42Z

@interpol @pavel-smejkal @tthe Yeah, the shake actually made me sick too, it was supposed to give a sense of urgency, but tbh once you get to the point, its almost impossible to win. Haha. The shaking of the conveyors was supposed to indicate that they're running, as the initial animation was difficult to see if they broke - I will tone this down a notch too. I had a default debug font running for a lot of the item text, and use information that I need to change, and was too lazy too, I will also do that. Thanks for the feedback!

Warehouse Worker by Rixium 2017-12-05T18:30:51Z

I have fixed all the problems everyone has mentioned and uploaded a new build which is more comfortable to play. Again, thanks all for the feedback!

Text is now green and big at the bottom left when indicating a correct thing to do, while it'll be red if there will be a problem.

You lose points for a variety of reasons:

- You try to package an item and there is no order in the list. - You try to package an item in an incorrect box. - You drop an item on the floor. (Plan ahead.)

I also added a few more things, like voice lines for guidance, which may help in some cases. Animation has been improved for the Conveyor and I have removed the awful shaking. All these changes are also reflected in the GitHub code.

Warehouse Worker by Rixium 2017-12-05T19:47:26Z

@automatonvx The reason is because the first orders block the others from passing so its important to clear the early orders first. I'm annoyed that I added the screen shake, I wanted a little more feedback for the player but it was the wrong thing to do. The game should help you fulfil the first order if the list gets too big to keep things moving. I appreciate the feedback!

Warehouse Worker by Rixium 2017-12-06T20:25:25Z

@swear Haha, awesome, thankyou! I played both of you LD games and thought both were great. I found the conveyer one more fun, but you've improved with the newest release.

@azuredraco Im so sorry! The shakes do ruin the experience. If you enjoyed it try the new build cause it fixed a lot of the issues. Point loss for dropping items is supposed to stop players from rushing as many items without concern for what boxes are available and what orders are made. It would also be easy for the players to drop items as reservation for other orders without a penality. Thanks for the feedback!

CoinCase (Ludum Dare 40) by Billeclipse 2017-12-05T00:17:44Z

Reminds me of Marble Blast. Would be even better if you could rotate the camera also! Keep it up.

Get to the CHOPPA! by Girts Kesteris 2017-12-05T18:46:09Z

Funny game, awesome art. I wasn't too fond of the camera movement, made me a little dizzy.

Cat Saviour: The Rain Is Coming by Pavel Smejkal 2017-12-05T14:32:34Z

I think it's cool actually. The artwork could use some work obviously, but the concept is cool, and the level design is great. Some of the features need some work - the jump speed was a little slow for me, and the gravity was low, so it was very floaty, but I have no other complaints really. Cool game.

LD46 — Keep it alive

O Jardim by Tarcisiotm 2020-04-21T23:05:42Z

A nice little game that actually gave me a little bit of genuine happiness while I watched over the tree. I wish it was a little longer!

Everything was great, but I agree with Mat_Mox, that the rain sound was a little off - with the ambient music, perhaps a little quieter rain would have been a little less jarring.

Overall, great take on the theme, and thanks for sharing your game.

Pupper Truckers by tweedle 2020-04-21T23:22:04Z

Nice! It's a game that I could probably spend a great amount of time playing if it was developed further. I really enjoyed the concept, which to me was kind of like a mobile tower defence.

I wish there were more upgrades that I could put on the truck, perhaps more weapons. I imagine that you were aiming for this during the JAM but ran out of time.

Thanks for sharing your game!

Friday at Barney's by AnaGF 2020-04-21T23:08:16Z

Nice little game with a funny little story. I wish there was some kind of checkpoint system, so I could go back and make a different decision, but maybe in further development?

Thanks for sharing!

Angst by Silas Reinagel 2020-04-21T22:59:14Z

Really liked your game. What an awesome effort from your team.

Clearly well polished and a great execution of the theme.

Balloony by Ryfi 2020-04-21T23:11:06Z

I'm got way too invested in those ballons.

Thanks for sharing a fun little game.

Pollinate by Adam Konig 2020-04-21T23:14:30Z

Nice original idea!

I appreciate the simplicity and the charm. I wasn't massively fond of the controls, but such little time in the JAM, it's understandable. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing your game!

a funeral. by otterdisgrace 2020-04-21T23:26:56Z

Hey! Congrats for finishing the JAM. I'm also in a similar boat, in that I didn't really use Unity before (I prefer Monogame, and I usually work in 3D), but it was a nice challenge.

Cool little game, kind of similar to pick up sticks (almost quite literally).

I'd say the advice from Catalysti stands, especially on the character speed.

Thanks for sharing your game!

Yobuds by noahnewline 2020-04-21T22:54:54Z

Great little game!

I managed 42 before they were wiped out :(

Pretty polished, and nice simple graphics that I think anyone could pick up and play.
