Very nice game ! The introduction is pretty cool and the gameplay works well. Maybe a little too easy and I don't know when I can upgrade. Well done ! :D

This game looks, sounds, and plays beautifully. I love the concept, the art and story is so wonderful, I am amazed as to how you accomplished this in 72 hours. As I played the game I struggled to find out how much scrap I had at any given time, that and I struggled to figure out exactly how to implement certain upgrades to the car, those difficulties would be my only critique as everything else is solid!

I liked that it was a tower defense game, but where it didn't feel static because the tower was a truck.

rixium 2020-04-21 23:22

Nice! It's a game that I could probably spend a great amount of time playing if it was developed further. I really enjoyed the concept, which to me was kind of like a mobile tower defence.

I wish there were more upgrades that I could put on the truck, perhaps more weapons. I imagine that you were aiming for this during the JAM but ran out of time.

Thanks for sharing your game!

I liked the intro :D i was not sure what to do with the evils cat robots ? i was just pushing them back to avoid damaging the vehicle and collecting scraps. But not sure it was the right thing to do. the feedbacks could have been improved. very nice game !

joewolf 2020-04-21 23:24

Love your take on the theme! On my first run I had no idea where my scrap count was, but after I figured that out the game was much more enjoyable. Great doggo game!

rongefilet 2020-04-21 23:25

Kind of confusing at first I ended up really getting into it and surviving all the waves. Movements are awkward due to the size of everything on screen getting in the way and I had trouble understanding what I should do but in the end it is a very coherent game with a lot of style, congrats!

griffin76 2020-04-21 23:25

The music and graphics are nice. I found it pretty easy if you upgrade quickly the truck.

loopypicklehead 2020-04-21 23:28

The best feedback is I want more of everything! More upgrades, more difficulty, more everything! Graphics and audio are damn good and I felt I got a handle of the mechanics really quickly. Just ramp up the difficulty and give us more substance!

eric-lagergren 2020-04-21 23:34

The graphics and audio were very well done. I do wish there was more overall though. Like. More difficulty and more upgrades as you progress. But really nice job! I really enjoyed it!

joberman 2020-04-21 23:38

Very fun! Played a few rounds and didn't get the hang of adding upgrades until a few rounds in, but really enjoyed time with the game. Enjoyed having to move around to collect upgrades vs. "standard" tower defense.

perpetuummobile 2020-04-22 06:24

The art and audio was excellent! I really loved it. The fact that you did that intro was awesome too. For the gameplay: I liked the idea, but I was a bit confused.

tatetate 2020-04-22 14:10

Loved the humor and art and I can really see the potential in the gameplay. The only thing that really bothers me is how it's hard to tell how the upgrade system works. Other than that an amazing game! Love to see something like this coming out of KC!

ctrble 2020-04-22 23:52

Great art and sound, you guys are always so good at that! And I'm a sucker for the wasteland theme, so I loved seeing that and all the upgrades for your rig! The only feature request I have would be an easier way to move across the screen, as I got my rig upgraded it became pretty tricky to get to the other side of the road. Maybe you can hop on your rig and either ride it for awhile or hop off in a direction? Anyways, I dig it!

notpjriavs 2020-04-23 09:51

Fantastic art. Really wanted to see health bars instead of colored floating numbers. Seemed easy but cool!

daniel-onstott 2020-04-23 09:52

I loved the art and style. The game seems very easy, I played for a while and I don't think I came close to losing. Great work!

stuckne1 2020-04-25 22:58

Nice game. I really dig the intro, art, music, and game play overall. It felt very alive.

Maybe it could be a tad more difficult.

I also agree with the suggestions on using bars instead of numbers.

Thanks for sharing the concept scribble...I dig it!

Yeah pretty cool! Love the graphics and the general game play twist. The music and art was awsome. Very well thought out and implemented. The story sequence in the beginning was cute. Loved the dancing animations when they talked about the music :D I had some issues with the upgrade mechanics though. It was never really clear, what I was doing. I also didn't see, how much scrap I had at the moment. My eyes went over the UI and everything seemed to be some static information and/or tutorial stuff. Pressing "e" did something to the vehicle, but I didnt't understand the consequences. A normal upgrade menu would've been better I guess. You really lost me on the way, so making the mechanics clear to the player is a must. Some improvement on that aspect would be nice.

All in all, a nice entry with some flaws in player experience. Keep it up!

colinbellino 2020-04-26 12:31

Very nice entry ! The audio made the whole thing "click" for me, it made the mood :D The visuals are lovely too!

I was surprised that the upgrade didn't do much for me, i hoped for a big changed but i'm still not sure what i got?

I also struggled with the controls of the game, until i realised you could move with the arrows haha. Just a friendly reminder that a lot of people can't use WASD for base inputs due to keyboard layouts being different in other countries (it's fine for a jam of course) :)

Overall, you did a great job on this game !

hornicar 2020-04-26 18:00

Really nice entry ! The intro was super fun andthe whole visual was super nice. I strugled to understand how to make upgrades (appart from the three chariots), but this was mentioned previously. I think the sound design was pretty neat and made me enjoy the game a lot

drumgadget-433 2020-04-26 19:16

Killed it with the art, music, and goofy theme. The only thing I had trouble with was maneuvering my pupper to repair my modules. I found it easier to go behind the truck to stay out of the robocats' line of fire! You can tell everyone put lot of work into the details. Art, music, and programming alike. I spent a lot of time just listening to the music and checking out the cute animations. Another great jam submission, guys!

molpe 2020-04-27 21:03

Great intro! And the game itself is really nice, I enjoyed it to be the "healer" of the story :)

that was coolio!!

flyingbear 2020-05-09 04:31

I was already pretty on board with this zany theme of yours and the puppy arms wildly swaying about in the intro sealed the deal. Art was really well done, and the soundtrack is just amazing! The way I was playing the game I didn't feel like I was making any meaningful decisions though, just jamming the e key and watching the vehicle grow. In general the game could've benefited from more visual clarity with the UI elements. I thought the things that appeared on the sides of the carts were guns at first, but now I'm thinking they were health bars? There were tiny numbers all over the place and I wasn't able to tell what pertained to what. Something else problematic is I spent much of the game not knowing how much scrap I had. (only later did I notice the tiny yellow number beneath me) I'm a big believer in having UI elements be bigger the more important they are, and I think the scrap count is an important one. In addition to making it bigger, I might've found a permanent UI place for it somewhere near the prices for the upgrades, the proximity of those two would help me associate them. Also when I died, it came out of the blue, as I didn't know what number amongst all the numbers that I was supposed to be watching. I think calling more attention to that number would've been a big help.

coleslaughter 2020-05-09 23:55

Charming little game, it's impressive how much art y'all were able to cram into it in such a short amount of time!

I do wish the UI was a little bit more parsable, though. A LOT of the screen real estate is taken up by tutorial text and quirky little jokes, but almost all of the critically important information is relegated to a difficult to read small number next to the characters (health, current scrap amount, etc.) I feel like if you drew more attention to these important bits, it would smooth over a lot of confusion during a player's first time playing. :)

Other than that though, I enjoyed this one quite a bit! It was a neat little twist on the "protect the object" gameplay almost mixed with a bit of tower defense too, very clever!
