LD44 — Your life is currency

Basil Price: Mint Investigator by minibobbo 2019-05-01T01:39:31Z

I'm impressed all that you guys were able to put together! That's quite a bit of art, music, and programming to do in 72 hours, congrats! The tunes were absolutely jammin', and I enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek humor (including the obligatory nod to the theme, haha).

I've never played Ace Attorney, but I've always had a soft spot for point and clicks. This definitely scratched that itch. Nice work!

NECROCAT 9000 by tweedle 2019-04-30T14:13:15Z

Great execution of an adorable concept, with a fresh theme interpretation. Killer tunes and art! I really enjoyed the addition of the story slides. The level of polish is very impressive given the brief time frame. Took me a little while to get used to the summoning controls and WASD movement. It was a little tricky to dash at angles, but I got better after a few plays. Congrats guys! Nice addition to the jam collection!

Deadline by Sn4pi 2019-05-01T15:36:24Z

I loved your art style and brand of humor! I had the most fun trying to figure out the puzzles, and exploring how the items interacted with each other. I think I might have been more successful if there was just a little more direction in terms mechanics, and safer environments to experiment in (I got myself killed trying to cross the street on many occasions, haha). Maybe i'm just not very good! Overall, it's a great concept, and very funny!

BULLDOZERS! FROM OUTER SPACE by auxC 2019-04-30T16:04:36Z

I really enjoyed your interpretation of the theme here. The low poly art and hexatile maps were really charming.

For me, the strategic potential of the game was somewhat overshadowed by a few things: the fast and unpredictable enemy movement, not knowing initial enemy spawn points, and unknown enemy numbers. I think the game could benefit from slightly slower gameplay, maybe even something turn based. I understand it's a jam build, and you did an excellent job! The game is fun, and very playable in this state. The ice crystal mechanics were also really interesting, and I wish I had been able to experiment with them sooner!

Overall, really impressed by this. Nice work!

Nein Lifes by Quivscor 2019-05-01T00:36:58Z

Congrats on the game! Pretty neat concept, and the inclusion of the aesthetic changes to the sprite was a nice touch! I think having to restart each time I lost a heart became a little overbearing, but I actually enjoyed seeing how the next death would affect gameplay, haha! I think you've got some interesting ideas happening here.

Torture For A Living by Yorsh 2019-05-01T15:46:30Z

I love the pace of the gameplay. The actions are quick and punchy (maybe not the kiss, haha). It feels good to play a few of those 30 sec rounds. I think the sound effects were the cherry on top for me. I had a good laugh while playing, thanks for that!

Gem Heart by Hopeen 2019-04-30T15:22:51Z

Hey, congrats on your 2nd LD! I just completed my first Ludum Dare, and it feels good to finish! You should be proud, you've got a lot of interesting ideas here.

First of all, I definitely see the Downwell inspiration in your art style and color palette! I think my favorite sprite and mechanic is the coin/heart tokens in the orbs. There is a pretty large risk/reward system that is created as a result of that, and I think that's fantastic. This is definitely a concept that I think could be fully fleshed out if you were to continue with development. One thing I think you could improve upon: Some parts of the level design made navigation difficult. There were a few spots with moving obstacles (namely in lvl 2) that left few opportunities for the player to advance without losing a life. Make sure to leave clear openings for your player to sneak through, in other words, reward them for good timing!

Overall, nice take on the theme. I enjoyed playing!

Hellish Souls by Astavie 2019-04-30T15:03:26Z

Nice concept, and congrats! I like that you are given plenty of options for progression in terms of skills. The arena style of gameplay works well, but I agree with Robber in that you could probably increase the size of the attack hitbox for the player. Overall, fun concept and I enjoyed playing!

Love, Death&Swords by Dmitry Kaidash 2019-04-30T13:45:44Z

Loved the low poly environment, character models, and top-down style! Got some good, Diablo-esque RPG vibes. The point-and-click controls are nice and accessible, too.

I managed to collect all the skills and defeat the all enemies! ...short of one god-like imp in the middle of the map. Must have been a bug because he was invincible, and slayed me in the end, haha! Fun execution of a cool concept! Congrats on completing LD!

Mass Attack! by Sciman101 2019-04-30T14:54:05Z

Congrats on completing the game!! Interesting take on the theme! Though the game was a little difficult, the mechanics were really well executed. I enjoyed figuring out what each color could be used for, and how to best manage those resources. Nice job with the art too! I enjoyed the style, and the cowboy slime was adorable.

Last Stand by KeyurRana 2019-05-01T15:08:14Z

I enjoyed your turn based strategy take on the theme. The rules were relatively easy to figure out, and the goals clear. The visual cues showing potential moves were a nice touch as well. I think I met diminishing returns trying to collect the energy pickups, so increasing their worth might give the player more incentive to move around the board. However, I managed to upload all the data! Pretty fun concept, nice job!

Apocalypse Hero by Jon50 2019-04-30T15:38:43Z

Congrats on completing your first LD!! I enjoyed your game, the controls were simple, and objectives were clear. I liked the variety of upgrades, though I found that I had to heavily rely on the "gain health" power-up to stay alive. I think that if you had more options for regaining health (maybe with each person saved), it might help balance the difficulty a little! Nice game!

World War III: Ghost War by Aticora Games 2019-04-30T13:24:50Z

Congrats on completing your first LD! Your game felt good in terms of controls, and I enjoyed playing.

After I figured out that G replenishes soul, I managed to progress more quickly. I'm impressed that you managed to incorporate a boss battle at the end of the level, given the short time limit!

Overall, cute idea and fun gameplay. Congrats!

LD46 — Keep it alive

EGG by inkedsplat 2020-04-26T20:37:48Z

Cute graphics and interpretation of the theme! The controls were easy to pick up, and it felt good to play. I really enjoyed it!

Pupper Truckers by tweedle 2020-04-26T19:16:07Z

Killed it with the art, music, and goofy theme. The only thing I had trouble with was maneuvering my pupper to repair my modules. I found it easier to go behind the truck to stay out of the robocats' line of fire! You can tell everyone put lot of work into the details. Art, music, and programming alike. I spent a lot of time just listening to the music and checking out the cute animations. Another great jam submission, guys!

Grass Yourself by grena 2020-05-06T01:41:28Z

I loved this one! Really original idea, and the art style and audio fit well with the gameplay. The difficulty curve felt just right, though I had to get a little lucky to win with all the moles and mushrooms popping up. :) Nice job!

Timmy & Rock by KekkoDude 2020-04-26T19:58:42Z

Congrats on completing your 2nd LD! Time management is definitely one of the hardest things to do during these challenges, but as you do more jams you'll see big improvement. Mine could certainly use some work :p. I enjoyed the writing and the concept was interesting. I was really hoping to find out what those "cool powers" were! I had a good time huckin' rocks at those leech-looking things, though. I think I fell into the pattern of either charging fully and shooting straight, or rapid firing small tosses while standing next to the monsters. I'd love to see some sort of incentive to throw the rocks in nice arcs!

Feed It! by Bernhard 2020-05-06T02:04:10Z

Nice use of physics in a puzzle game! The combination of puzzle action with timing, velocity, etc worked out well! I did find the conveyor belts to be a little difficult to work with, but I'm sure it's nothing some speed tweaks couldn't fix. Really nice job!

D'ough by Carraka 2020-05-06T02:17:05Z

Fantastic music, art, and original concept. You guys obviously poured a lot of work into this entry, and it shows. The gameplay was pretty convoluted though, but I understand there were some features that weren't implemented until the post-jam! I think some simplification of the gameplay would help. As someone who has maintained (and killed) a sourdough starter, I appreciated the realism of the process, including the falling asleep part. ;)

Nice job!

Plant Baby by theArtifacts 2020-05-09T18:45:37Z

Really nice aesthetic and concept. It was simple and relaxing, yet challenging (much like the real thing)! I spent a good 10 minutes cultivating my two little plants. Nice job on this!

Bear Naked Polar Party by stuckne1 2020-04-26T19:45:19Z

Fresh take on the theme! I was really bad at first, and it took me a few tries to figure out what I could interact with on the mixer. Maybe some sort of highlight/glow fx would help guide the player in the beginning! I eventually figured it out, and I felt like my bear DJ-ing skills had peaked when someone fainted on the dance floor. It went downhill from there, haha. Cute game, and really effective use of music and sound design!

Tracer by ctrble 2020-04-26T19:00:49Z

I have to agree with a lot of the others here that you nailed the mood! I really love the 80s aesthetic, color choices, and music selection. The small details really added to the gamefeel for me (the ship movement lagging sightly behind the shifting of the tunnel, flashing of the bars as they meet your view, etc). The controls felt nicely tuned. Such a simple and addictive concept! Great work!

πŸ„ Saki πŸ„ by Darkfire92 2020-05-09T19:06:00Z

Wow, this is a very charming little game! I absolutely loved the artwork and overall mood with this one. I'm having a difficult time coming up with any constructive criticism. The only thing I might suggest, if you continue to develop this, is to make the rounds a little shorter. I was having a great time, but my hand got a tired near the end from killin' shrooms. Maybe I just have weak wrists, haha. Fantastic job!

MootInSpeech PRO by Psychedelia 2020-05-08T20:23:48Z

Now The world becomes magical but why? The world acquires interesting self-love ,or not? People overwhelmingly mingle with horizons .... After all, This coincides overwhelmingly ,after all.

I had forgotten that I selected "after all" to begin the last sentence. Guess it adds emphasis, right? lol Really nice little game! I became completely absorbed in the mood you created with the music, satisfying sfx, and the calming interface! What an original idea. :)

Charge it! by TwistedHawk 2020-04-26T19:31:59Z

I agree with some others here about the difficulty, but the game idea is really interesting and the execution of the theme was good! The pixel art is charming, and I enjoyed the music as well! If you've ever hear of or played Sweet Home for the NES, I got some similar vibes in terms of mood. I loved that I could hide under tables and in the fridge. Low res survival horror, good stuff. A little more direction in the beginning and some small tweaks to the interface would make for some great updates. Hope to see more from you guys!

Keep the Dream Alive! by DrumGadget_433 2020-04-26T21:01:39Z

Thanks to everyone for playing! We really appreciate all of your comments and feedback. :)

@gabs - I'm glad you had fun! The heater will definitely get ya, haha.

@rojola - Thank you so much! Yeah, the timing is pretty specific on some of the pitches. We could definitely make it more clear to the player where the "sweet spot" is!

@ctrble - Ooh! I really love the idea of adding outfield play in another stage! Thanks for playing :)

@tatetate - Thank you so much. :) Haha, as someone who also doesn't normally like baseball games, I had lot of fun working on it.

@stuckne1 - Thank you. :) Credit goes to Adam for the goofy writing and HEATER pitch.

@norris-eldridge - Thanks for the feedback, that means a lot! Yeah, i'd definitely agree that it becomes repetitive after a playing for a while. Adding more variety in the future is something I'll work on.

@gurbx - Thank you! I tried to make the art and music aesthetics match, so hearing that is awesome. :) I really like your suggestions for improving the gameplay depth. The distance counter based on timing is really cool. I'm definitely gonna consider that if we do an update. Ahh yes, screenshake is ALSO a fantastic idea.

@wegpast - Thanks a bunch! Yeah, I realized how loud it was that after playing with headphones, haha. Will definitely have to adjust that, sorry about the volume! :O And story credit goes to Adam, I like it too, lol!

@spirits - I'm glad you had fun with it and enjoyed the music and coach XD. Yes, I think some of the pitches could probably use some adjusting! For me, it's that dang middle-speed pitch.

LAIKA by m-trigo 2020-04-26T20:09:31Z

I had a really good time with this. The writing was clever, art was cute, and the music choice was fitting. I felt my anxiety increasing constantly, but the comedic relief always kept me pushing onward. I'm lucky my Babushka still loves me, I only ever made it halfway. It was pretty difficult due to the time limit (though I liked that the music progressed with it to the end). Having the car move faster between decisions might save the player a little bit of time. Nice execution!

Keep the Party Alive by Jirushi 2020-05-06T01:18:49Z

Like some others mentioned, I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The unique perspective, and adding reverb to the music as you got further into the woods was nice 'n creepy. If you were to continue to develop this I'd enjoy seeing some change in scenery or other elements of challenge as you proceed further into the woods. Cute ending as well. Nice entry!

Protect Egg. by devook 2020-04-26T20:19:29Z

I enjoyed your game! At first I tried to be gentle with Egg, but that quickly changed after I grossly underestimated what I was up against. I whipped that egg back and forth after my first attempt! The concept was simple and easy to understand, and the physics kept the survival interesting. There were a few times that I was saved by the shock wave from another meteor. Nice work :)

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Starship Kafka by mooncalf 2022-04-09T21:56:10Z

This is a fresh interpretation on the theme, and a neat reference! I certainly fell into the trap of waiting for the timer after exploring a while. The art was nice and clean, too.

Chickenator by clemall 2022-04-09T18:02:27Z

Cute game! I could see this being expanded into a full game, and It reminds me of some of the great web-games I played growing up!

ZombieDefense by japes 2022-04-11T12:29:20Z

I had fun with this! I thought the ability to find new survivors during foraging was a really cool idea, although I didn't like losing them to random events. Nice work!

Donchar by MatLab 2022-04-10T16:38:22Z

This was a mood for sure! For me, the vibrant art was really key to the atmosphere you created. That kind of metallic-rainbow texture you used was neat. Nice work!

Sir Blocksalot by jhandsy 2022-04-10T17:16:04Z

Thanks for great responses, everyone. :)

@zwodahs Yeah, it can be difficult to use effectively. The hammer originally healed the castle SO quickly, that you could entirely forgo building your defenses, lol. I think we ran out of time trying to balance the castle healing-rate for one player. We had planned on this being a multiplayer experience, so P2 might may been tasked with castle repairs and fireball-smashing duty. I'll keep that in mind if we make v2.0! Thanks for your feedback!

@raphiell Thank you!! Yes, a score would have been a nice addition for sure. We wanted to do something along the lines of having a point value that counted up and showed you "how many citizens you saved" at the end of your run. A "next up" block queue was also on our list of features we wanted to add. Ahh, time is always a challenge with LD! Thanks for the feedback :)

Sir Blocksalot by jhandsy 2022-04-10T22:02:13Z

@slecornu Thanks very much!!

@caeonosphere Glad you caught the bush detail! And that’s a good observation about the free character movement vs the grid placement. We may have to experiment with grid based movement! Thanks for the kind words and critique :)

Flupye Ranch by JOZGames 2022-04-10T17:52:12Z

Really cute art! Interesting interactions with the spells as well. I realized too late that building up my walls, and using fire afterwards was a really bad idea! I think it may have been easier for me to manage my spells by selecting them with the mouse? I had a little trouble managing my movement with WASD and using the number keys. Or, maybe you could try cycling through them with Q and E? I think you have a lot of good ideas here!

Nice work overall!

The Inevitable Snowman by LaneDavis 2022-04-10T17:40:22Z

Wow, incredible work. Congrats on the submission!

The art and VFX really very well done. This game had a ton of juice. I just loved how it looked when the ice platforms cracked. The music was also excellent. I think the difficulty curve was a little steep for me. Maybe you could alleviate this by backing off on the initial spawn rate of the kitties, and/or increasing the abundance of snow? I found it really tough to get past the 1:30 mark. But, maybe that's fitting for the theme haha.

Splitting your snow between the snowman and cats was also clever, and it really allows the panic to set in when deciding how to manage that resource later.

Really nice job!

The Gardener by GullynGames 2022-04-10T16:25:39Z

The music choice worked really well with the gardening theme, I think! I loved the goofy premise, and the resource management was fun!

A couple of your design decisions that I though were really nice: - Being able to restock your veggie turrets! - Using the day/night cycle as a timing mechanism. This made it easier for me to gauge how much time I had between waves via the lighting level on the screen. I think I prefer this to a timer that I need to glance at!

I do think having the harvest option be one-click would eliminate a lot of fatigue. Or, maybe give the option to harvest with SPACE if you're close enough?

Overall, I really enjoyed your game. You managed to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time, and create a pretty complete experience, too. Nice job!

Crows by lesinvisible 2022-04-09T22:24:45Z

I really enjoyed the art style, and I think it lent itself well to the overall mood. Great job!

Word Wizard by Slecornu 2022-04-10T18:04:04Z

Wow, really polished entry! The art was great, and you included a lot of extras in the game settings.

I really liked the mechanic that makes the urgent words closer in the foreground. However, it got a little confusing with so many words on the screen near the end. I think this was due to the monsters staggering their horizontal position in a zig-zag pattern as they moved. Maybe organizing them in a more linear fashion would help?

Some of the things that I loved most about your entry: - The wizard changing poses with each letter types. It added a ton of character! - The "MASH!" mechanic was clever, and a lot of fun to use! - The goofy voice acting ;)

I think this has potential! I had more fun with it than a lot of the typing games out there.

Great work!

Sandwich Drop by Renge 2022-04-09T22:48:10Z

This was super goofy and I loved that. I think it'd be helpful to enable the player to predict where the next sandwiches are going to drop when they're off screen. Like an arrow that rotates the player as part of the GUI, and points to the nearest sandwich. I liked that you could jump to catch things a little earlier!

Overall, great ideas and really goofy!

Against the Dying of the Light by Celtican 2022-04-09T23:08:20Z

This was gonna be my last play for the day until you hit us with the 10/10 mood. I need a pick-me-up! The atmosphere and setting are really fitting for the theme. Really well done. I enjoyed the gameplay, and I don't think that it was entirely unfair. I was able to grab the radio and the fire died in the blizzard just before I got back to camp. I don't know if it's possible to "win," but I was satisfied with how it ended (apart from like, my child perishing).

The art style was great too, and there were some fx you used that added a lot of character. e.g. the character's ghosting and the sprite flip.

Morth II - but you are a shopkeeper in the forest town. by XOREAXEAX 2022-04-10T16:51:39Z

Really interesting card-game concept! I'd be interested in playing an expanded version of this. The scroll of confusion is a nice sequence-breaker, and brings other ideas to mind! Kind of reminds me of magical-solitaire? Art was really nice as well, great work!

RIITA by wobs 2022-04-09T18:34:53Z

Really excellent job! It's impressive what you managed to accomplish in such a short time, it feels like an early access game. The models are nice, and the animations have character. I especially liked the art and music in the introduction.

needs more SHREK!

Avoid the Drown by NeneChico 2022-04-09T18:18:19Z

Like some others have said, I like this concept and I think it has a lot of potential as a full game. The rules are simple, and it's very replayable. I'd love to see some animations for the gliding, swimming, etc! Sometimes it was a little difficult to tell how close I was to the water because of the perspective. Nice game!

Puffer Panic by Grizwhirl 2022-04-10T16:59:02Z

What a goofy concept, I really liked it. Aside from some movement tweaks others have mentioned, I think it has a lot of potential as a fun multiplayer game. Especially if you could square off in teams, trying to launch your trash into your opponents tank or something!

Really unique idea, nice work!

Leaf the Ghost behind by BiOs3008 2022-04-09T22:33:56Z

Like others, I assume you were inspired by Paper Mario here, and I think you really pulled it off with your character design! Cute game, I'd love to see a couple twists to the classic time-trial mechanics that fit with your soap theme. Nice entry!

Stuck In The Hypertext by RealTanHen 2022-04-10T15:46:43Z

Nice work! The art and audio were really nice, and I liked your decision to use a limited palette. Navigating rooms/memories via the hyper text was also really clever idea.

The inventory system was also a definite improvement to a mechanic i've never enjoyed about point-and-clicks; clicking items from the inventory and trying them in failed combinations can get really tedious. I think you're onto something with that!

Overall, a really great experience!

Dike Defender by Raptarr8 2022-04-15T21:50:14Z

I really enjoyed your pixel art! The palette you used was a nice choice.

What I liked most about this interesting combat mechanic was the use of the circle enemy patterns that required a sweeping movement. I think there is a lot of potential for other interesting enemy patterns too! Neat idea.

I agree with some others that the charge attack wasn't quite intuitive. Was charging it just an increase in damage? I think I expected it to swing for me> Maybe some further instruction is all it needs.

Overall, a cute game with innovative ideas!!

Snowcastle Meltdown by Noiyy 2022-04-10T16:00:25Z

Woah, congrats on your first Ludum Dare! This was a cute game, and a fitting concept for the theme. This type of task-management reminded me of games like Overcooked. The simple controls and set sequence of events to follow were a great foundation for this concept, I think! Could also make for an interesting cooperative game if you were to expand upon the concept.

I really enjoyed the music as well! Nice work :)

LD54 — Limited Space

No More Grandma! by eroxxie 2023-10-03T23:54:43Z

This is a super clever interpretation of the theme, and it's hysterical. The music hits the mark as well, and contributes to the mood perfectly. Controls were simple and easy to understand al well! Great work!

The Final Years of Atlantis by kleinzach 2023-10-03T23:38:07Z

Very creative interpretation of the theme! I found it very relaxing, and played through a few times after learning out what each building piece looked like, as well as the max building height so I could plan accordingly. I also agree that showing this information up front would be helpful, as would an option to "undo." Overall, great job!Screenshot 2023-10-03 183651.png

ASTROLIZWILL - An 80's Handheld Space Adventure by designernap 2023-10-06T18:32:43Z

This is such a tactile, nostalgic gem, and I wish it was real!

The simplicity of the gameplay makes the workings of the handheld believable, yet they are interactive enough that it's still very fun to play. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you had just created a simulation of some forgotten, handheld retro game.

And the sound design is such a treat. It definitely hits the mark. I don't have much to offer in the way critique - excellent job!

Tabletrack Turbulence by Phlip45 2023-10-11T23:00:30Z

I'm a fan of crokinole, so I enjoyed this! Although the controls felt a little unforgiving, I really appreciated the overall gameplay. The jump animation when launching off a ramp was a nice touch as well. I think there's definitely room to expand on this concept! Nice work!

Station 6 by nardandas 2023-10-06T18:07:51Z

Awesome work! A lot of others have said this already, but the pixel art and audio meld perfectly to create a perfect atmosphere. I think for me the lighting system was more frustrating than not when entering a new room, but I think there's definitely something to be explored with that mechanic.

Great job!

A.I. Move by Petter 2023-10-03T22:09:24Z

I really enjoyed this! The sound effects were really satisfying. I liked that the large windows on both floors made it so much more fun to move everything, but it ultimately lead me to realizing that I had needed those two vases, haha.

I found the throw mechanic to be a little more reliable and predictable than placing objects. There were a few times where the items I had set down clipped through the front of the moving truck and fell. Overall, a solid execution of the theme.

Haxwell Modem: Beyond the Firewall by shaner421 2023-10-06T16:10:50Z

This is a neat concept! The base reflecting mechanic felt really good to use, and had some nice "juice" with the slight zoom effect, squishy bullet animation, and great parry sounds. I found myself wishing I had just a little more space in my upgrade inventory so I wasn't swapping out pieces for the first upgrades I found. I felt more like I was creating a loadout than actually upgrading my character, maybe? Rotating parts would also help to maximizing that inventory space! Overall, really nice work!

Roots, for LD 54 by slimefriend 2023-10-13T15:26:02Z

@skosnowich

Thanks for playing! These are all improvements that we have discussed for the post-jam version, so this is very reassuring feedback. Much appreciated :)

Angler by Robean 2023-10-11T23:13:15Z

Alright, you got me good. I jumped in my chair. I think you did a nice job building suspense with the atmosphere, sounds, and story. I especially like that you introduced the 'SHIFT to RUN' control later in the game. The implication of this was an adrenaline spike all of it's own - genius idea. I also like that this interpretation of the theme was applied to both the player's visibility, and natural feature of caves. Nice job!

PHYLLON by bradjste 2023-10-06T17:35:13Z

This was a really unique concept, and well executed! I managed to pass all levels, although not with flying colors haha. It took me a little while to navigate the flow from creating the minis to generating the finals, but once I got the hang of it, it was really enjoyable!

I think if you were to continue working on it, I think allowing the user to preview the minis in the editor (like the finals) would be a welcome improvement. Really nice entry overall!

Limited Heart by Dennis Magnusson 2023-10-03T21:29:27Z

Nice game! I like spatial puzzles, and I appreciated the unique mechanic where some pieces had to be moved in unison. Also, tutorializing with video was a neat idea. I also missed the point of the last level until I caught your note, haha.

I don't have a whole lot of critique, this was really well done! The art style was lovely, and the music was also excellent! It hit the mark exactly. I really liked the variety of restrictions introduced with each character. However, I did feel like the puzzle solutions were more about plotting an optimal the path to and from the doors than they were figuring out how apply the other mechanics.

If you were to expand upon the concept, I'd love to see the NPC attributes expanded upon so there's more opportunity for interaction between the characters. In my opinion, I think that would help to draw some of that focus back to the puzzle solving aspect of the game. Maybe the crocodile eats any lamb which it is facing directly after "x" amount of moves... something of that sort!

Overall, this is a good concept, and one well executed. Definitely a game I'd enjoy playing more. Great work!

Awesome game! The pixel art is phenomenal, and the music was great as well! What a fun concept. I think I agree with some of the critiques above, in that some of the hazards made it hard to advance in the later game. Really nice job overall!

Space In-Traders by StudioZyyt 2023-10-11T22:53:53Z

This is a really interesting idea that you have! I found it to be a little difficult, and I wasn't able to figure out the correct permutation of paths and actions, but I think there is definitely foundation for a good puzzle game here. Nice art style as well!

Bone Box Brawl by LucasZoom 2023-10-03T21:12:29Z

I enjoyed the idea of being constrained to a small space while dodging. I think you could definitely expand upon this idea by changing skeleton patterns, box shape and size, etc! I will say that being able to move the box made the game much easier, to the point where I was able to outrun the skeletons almost indefinitely, haha. Nice work!

Before The Trip by Nilan 2023-10-06T17:46:47Z

Really nice artwork and consistency between items! You've clearly put in a lot of work on the programming and art fronts. You also had some really satisfying features, such as stacking sandals and other items, rotating objects, and sorting the appropriate apparel based on the selected theme.

You've created a cute and enjoyable inventory management game! I honestly don't have a lot of critique, the game plays really well for a jam build. Nice work!

This is such a creative interpretation of the theme. It's easy to tell that your team spent a lot of time just exploring and refining the core mechanic. The puzzle design is masterful! Overall, it's very impressive for a working prototype in general, let alone a jam entry.

Nice job!

Cute game, and congrats on completing your first jam! I enjoyed the art and snappy SFX. I think if you were to keep working on the game, some indicators for information like tile prices, turtle tower range, etc would be nice! That information usually influences where I place towers.

Really pleasant pixel art, and an intriguing mechanic! I like that you have to be inside the box when you place it. It puts an unusual spin on the idea of placing platforms. I do think tweaking the size of the platforms and jump height slightly might make the placement of pieces easier! That might help bring the focus more to the puzzle solving. Overall, this is a great entry!
