It controlled nicely, I had no issues picking up logs and I was able to find my way back to the fire. Graphics were nice and there was music.

If there was more to the game than picking up logs I didn't find it but congratulations on finishing a game.

I liked the setting and the concept. The music matched the setting. Maybe I like fires but the opening scene could make a cool wallpaper or poster. So the idea is to go left to grab wood right? I was waiting for a bait and switch where the game is actually a story to be told! Thanks for letting me play your game!

It doesn't work for Linux.. :sob:

Nice! Simple and atmospheric. It reminded me "Dont starve!" but in humorous way.

jirushi 2020-04-20 17:00

@piko-monde What happens when you try to run it?

sheetcode 2020-04-21 06:55

That made me fun:D Music is great, concept is very nice. It is easy to understand. I miss more sounds effect and randomize. Make wood appears a the random spots would give a lot more gameplay

Bit difficult since the logs only seemed to spawn on one side and didn't respawn but otherwise it was fun :)

jirushi 2020-04-21 14:00

@sheetcode @megamiley The logs don't respawn to force the player to venture deeper and reach the end of the game ;)

Movement was really clean easy to control. Little UI consideration is that the mouse icon for right clicking made me think I was supposed to left click since it was the part of the icon different than the rest of the mouse. I wish there were more sticks to pick up around the area and the environment didn't just fade into the void.

stolen-biscuit 2020-04-21 23:53

Unfortunately I couldn't get the game to work on Linux :( Get's stuck just after the Unity logo, on the 'Loading' screen

jirushi 2020-04-23 23:34

@adam-konig By saying the environment faded into the void, you mean that there is nothing on the right side of the map? Yeah, I didn't have time to make trees and prevent the player from going right. All the sticks are on the left side, and you should not run out of sticks or time until you reach the end of the game, since your speed increases over time.

I love how the audio changes depending on your distance and the ending was a nice surprise!

I found the sticks only appearing in the one direction made the game feel repetitive. There was little to the game, but I still enjoyed my time playing it!

linux version - just loading screen, game didn't start

Nice little game you've made! I especially like how creepy the music gets the further you venture away from the campfire. One small thing that I think could have helped out is to have some texture on the ground or a few other objects on screen like trees just to give the player a point of reference of where they are moving and how quickly. Also it could be a bit easier to pick up the sticks especially as you gain speed.

I quite liked the ending, it had me laugh out loud. Unfortunately after I completed the game, I wasn't able to load the next scene - according to the debug console, you may have had a typo in the scene name.

Anyhow, solid entry overall. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!

heheeheh it remind me when me and my brother drunk all night long kkkk good job

drumgadget-433 2020-05-06 01:18

Like some others mentioned, I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The unique perspective, and adding reverb to the music as you got further into the woods was nice 'n creepy. If you were to continue to develop this I'd enjoy seeing some change in scenery or other elements of challenge as you proceed further into the woods. Cute ending as well. Nice entry!

Neat! The music effects really added to the atmosphere. I liked how the character picked up speed over time.

A suggestion would be to add a little variation to the ground texture. When the sticks were getting far away from the fire, I wasn't sure if I was making progress or hitting a world boundary.

Also, the ending made me giggle.

So unfortunately i got an error at the beginning about the particle system (which was fine allowed me to still play the game) but when i went too far left and found the monster the game failed to load to the next scene 'iniscene' or something and the game stopped working so i couldn't exit without alt-f4ing it.
