This game was pretty tough to understand. I really like your art style. It's mostly gray-scale but you can definitely tell what everything is and the color really stands out because of it.

This game was pretty tough to understand. I really like your art style. It's mostly gray-scale but you can definitely tell what everything is and the color really stands out because of it.
I scrolled through the comments pretty quickly but it seems like a lot of people really appreciated the art, myself included. Simple art style but it clearly shows you everything that you need to see and nothing more. I really appreciate how well you did with the art. The game was interesting but a bit too simple. I think that you could have made the gameplay a bit more interesting by having the player click on the actual text that the player was searching for instead of just anywhere on the screen that had the information they were looking for. Also the recharging phase was a bit boring, I think it would have been cool to have a small minigame on that screen; even if it was something just a simple as rapidly clicking the mouse to charge the phone faster.
Beautiful game, and interesting story. Great job on your complete game!
Pretty simple game, but everything worked well and I didn't run into any issues. I like how there were checkpoints in the game and I didn't need to play through the whole game each time I died. The quest were I had to get the 3 types of resources was too difficult for me and I gave up before I could finish. Good looking art style!
Congratulations on making a complete game!
This game was pretty tough to figure out. The game moved to fast for me to comprehend what was going on and I am not sure how scoring worked. Game looks and sounds great although I don't believe that this can be considered a compo entry because the art assets look far too similar to Donkey Kong and Pac Man.
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Tough for me to figure out at first but once I got it, I was all in and I played through the whole game. I think that at times, the game got in the way of itself a little bit and that was a bit frustrating. I did find a bunch of the sound effects to be pretty humorous.
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Hey man, I'm pretty sure you stopped by my Twitch stream over the weekend! Really excited to see that you got everything all set for compo! I thought that the enemies get a bit tough as you get further into the game and would have liked to see some more significant weapon upgrades. Overall I definitely enjoyed myself while playing my game and I thought your artwork was really good.
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Neat little adventure game forsure! I really enjoyed playing this game, I though it had an interesting story and it was paced very well. I would suggest putting more boundaries in you game, I was able to walk off the screen both on the planet and in the caves/rooms. I actually failed the first time playing through because I did not stay the night with one space man in the cryo room and he died before he could give me his half of the code. Luckily this game was short enough that I was able to play through it again no problem and complete the story! Really liked the audio too.
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Very nice looking game. I got lost off the "main path" of collectibles and couldn't find any for a good while. I eventually found the high concentration of them, which I assume is the end of the game, but I never reached a completion screen. Character and spikes look really good!
Congratulations on making a complete game!
I really liked the style and art of your game. The first level was way too difficult and long, checkpoints would help with this. I would suggest to design your earlier levels in such a way that teaches the player the mechanics by having them interact with your game rather than blatantly telling them what to do. Congratulations on making a complete game!
I certainly enjoyed playing your game. Overall this game is pretty basic, but it all works well and I didn't really encounter any bugs in my playthrough. You have something very solid and a great potential starting point for a larger project.
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Honestly, this isn't the type of game that I usually play and even reading the instructions I couldn't figure out what to do. I think this game could use better instructions for people like me. Maybe I am just to dump to figure it out :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Enjoyed playing your game. I found it a bit difficult to control the player, especially while platforming. I think that your game has great character design, and looks really good!
I played both your jam entry and post jam entry. The post jam entry did a much better job at explaining to the player how to play, that being said, don't expect that your player is willing to read a bunch of floating text. Slowly feed the player information and get them comfortable with the mechanics before throwing more complex stuff at them. Not sure if it was just me but I was only able to make it to about wave 5. I never really felt challenged until I was completely overwhelmed with enemies and there was nothing I could do. This left me with the feeling that I had little control over the outcome of the game. That being said, your game looks and plays really nicely!
Congratulations on making a complete game!
Cool! There was definitely a solid gameplay loop there that had me hooked for quite a bit. This is totally a game within the spirit of a game jam, something very simple and short but looks good, plays well, and puts a smile on the player's face. I really wish there would have been some more levels but you clearly have a good starting point so you can build some more! Looking forward to more jam games from you!
Funny little game forsure. It was a bit tough having control over the ship and turret with different inputs. This could work well as a twin stick shooter using a controller however. Game looked great and the flailing astronaut was really silly.
Congratulations on making a complete game!
@sirpumpy Thanks for the heads up! Should be working now
Solid game, you did a good job at getting the core mechanics of a game built and working well. I see that you have a lot of ambitious things planned for the future of this game and they sound awesome but I think you should focus on fully finishing out your core experience before adding in bigger and better things. Just play your game through and think of the player experience. What things would someone with no knowledge of your game find helpful, add that in; what would they find annoying, take that out or improve it. More player feedback is usually always something that can be added to a game to make it feel like the player has an impact on the gameplay. Overall I think you have a really great base to build off of, be sure to share your improvements with the GDU Discord if you continue development! Congratulations on making a game in a weekend!
I thoroughly enjoyed your game! I actually had a lot of fun! I really liked how you worked the theme into the game, I think it fits very well. A short narrative or tutorial screen would have been nice to have but I was able to figure it out pretty quickly without it. Solid graphics, addicting gameplay. Congratulations on making a game in only 6 hours!
Hey I really enjoyed your game! It's kinda like an action game mixed with a puzzle game, and I think it fits the theme very well. There were a few levels that were extremely challenging because there were multiple sources of water and you only had a small amount of ammunition. Overall I think this is a very unique game and would love to see how it would play if you continued development on it. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Really liked the concept of your game! Platforming felt great and it was fun to play! I would like to see the mechanic of the game be used in more interesting ways. I think you could come up with some really neat platforming puzzles where you need to wait for the right moment make your jump to the next section; or even have some basic puzzle solving elements and maybe even items that impact how the things in the levels move. Really liked your art style and it was cool to see all the text and everything be stylized. Great job at making a complete game in 48 hours!!
I really liked this game a lot. The turn based mechanics gave you time to think about each move and how you wanted to play it out instead of being forced to make a quick decision because the box is moving down the conveyor belt.
I think the controls could be improved a bit, maybe have a key press that triggers the box pick up, box set down, and attack actions then press the arrow key in the direction of the action. Hope that made sense, I just found it a little weird to remove my right hand from the arrow keys, then use the mouse with that hand then use my left hand on the arrow keys while I am moving the box, then switch back to my right hand on the arrow keys. Very minor issue but I figured I'd mention it.
The only other thing I would suggest to improve would be depth of gameplay. I.e. have different boxes with special attributes or more enemy types to mix up the gameplay.
Overall I really enjoyed my time with your game. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Hey I really enjoyed your game! I am a pretty big fan of puzzle games and this game scratches that itch! Though I did see a number of bugs where the game was giving me too many points or I was getting points when I didn't stack and blocks, particularly on level 7. Though you only had 48 hours so I'm sure with some extra time for debugging those issues can all be cleared up :) Anyways, very fun game with a unique mechanic, would love to see you keep working on this game after the jam! Maybe turn it into a fun little mobile game or something. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
This is definitely the best looking game I've played for LD42 so far, great job on the artwork! Loved the little cinematic intro at the beginning. I agree with the above commenters, I think that the controls make the game more difficult than it should be. I think the controls could be simplified, so for instance pressing the arrow keys in the direction you want to strike your axe also strikes the axe instead of needing to continually spam Q. Also I think that your audio is very good and the sound effects are humorous. Great entry and congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
I actually really enjoyed the randomly generated levels. Some levels were far too easy but there were a decent amount that were challenging and made me think about the moves I was going to make. Though I would really like to see what this game would look like if you had handcrafted levels with more interesting puzzles. I thought your art style was pretty good; simple but effective. Overall I really enjoyed my time with your game. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!!
Beautiful looking game! The audio and graphics are among the best I have seen from compo entries for this jam. As others have mentioned, I would like to have a bit more control over the player, especially while in the air. But this did not stop me from having a ton of fun with this game! Overall great job, really impressed with what you made in 48 hours!! :fire::fire::fire:
Very fun and pretty game! I really like your art style and the theme you created in this game. If you take this game further, the one thing I would recommend to improve on would be the core gameplay feel. Just make the physics feel a bit better and make it a bit more intuitive to dodge/counter attacks. But I still had a ton of fun playing a few rounds! Great take on the theme, and congratulations on making a game in only 24 hours!
Really liked the new take on the classic game Asteroids. I think the game played really well and it felt good to control. Only annoying part is that I would occasionally get sniped by an offscreen enemy with no other warning. Good job on the art and sounds, they are very fitting for this game. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
@eric-kulbiej Thanks for the positive feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!
@kromeboy I appreciate it! Wanted to do something that might be a bit out of the ordinary :P
@mgsx Thanks I'm really happy with how the universe turned out!! Music/sound effects/voice over are the top things that I really wanted to get into my game this time around but just ran out of time to get them in. I definitely do like the feel of the game and yes, the second part is pretty difficult :P
@adonisdevs Thanks for the positive feedback! I'm glad you liked the line movement as I spent a lot of time on that to make it feel right. I do hope to make a mobile port of this game soon so I appreciate the gameplay suggestions. Also I kinda rushed making the main menu at the last minute so that is why it is that way, better than nothing though!
@folex70 Thank you! I thought that this would be a funny take on the theme too!
@borys Thanks for the feedback! I agree the player is a bit too tall and it can be tough to get through some tight sections. If you couldn't tell, I'm much more of a programmer than an artist and didn't spend too much time on the art; so the cheap cartoony art style is what I went with!! :)
@vivoubos Thank you, I tried to do something that I thought would be a bit different haha! Yes, the second half of the game does get pretty tough, thanks for trying anyways!!
@m8rix Thanks, I would definitely agree with all of your feedback! It's pretty clear how I spent my time during development lol. I will check your game out in just a bit!!
@foxisxiii Thanks for the feedback! Good to know about that trick, I'll try to force people away from doing that in the mobile release of the game :)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!! I would definitely love to add in all those things, hopefully they will show up in my full mobile release!
@linky439 yes, there definitely is a bit of a learning curve to start out. Glad you stuck through it and played to the end though! Thanks for the feedback :)
I really like the concept of your game! I like how you have the two different phases where you are doing different things but they both affect each other. I did find it a bit challenging to make "stairs" for the hero with the Tetris pieces due to the random nature of how they appear onscreen. Also would like to see some sort of score component or objective to complete in the game. Game looks nice and plays well, though I would like to be able to hold down the arrow keys to move faster in a given direction. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!!
Glad I finally got around to playing your game! Very silly and fun game overall. The first time I played I didn't understand how to close the password protected ads and I found that I was actually able to last much longer by just moving the password protected ad out of the way to close other ads. Definitely got much more challenging once I found out that you could type into the ads. I think the voiceover is really funny and ads (lol) to the game overall. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours and your first LD event! Keep it up!
Neat little game! I must say, the art style is fantastic. I like how you kept that doodle theme for everything in the game all the way down to the text and icons.
I do think that the game plays a bit slow especially when you need to just move in a single direction for a long stretch of time.
I do like the animations and think they are pretty silly.
One thing that I think you could improve on would be the puzzle design. I think that this kind of game could work really well as a puzzle game but the puzzles were way too easy and different things are spread too far apart. Though level 7 was a bit devious :P I eventually figured out how to solve it but I couldn't walk left on the platform on the 2nd level.
Also I really liked your background music.
Overall I did enjoy my time with your game! Congratulations on making a complete game!
Hey you had a similar take on the theme as I did haha! I really liked the monochromatic style of your game but I thought that the game was way too difficult. It took me nearly 35 minutes to clear all 10 levels, also my highscore was 000 because I died so many times XD. Overall I think you had a very fun and complete game. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
2018-08-19 11_40_13-Space Escape.png
Very silly game. It's a lose-lose scenario haha!! I played once and filled up the device storage fairly quickly then played again and reached airplane mode... only to find out I CAN'T DISABLE AIRPLANE MODE LOL!
Cool take on the theme, I would like to see some more depth to the gameplay like random notifications or things that pop up on the screen to mix up the gameplay just a bit.
I think this could make a really cool mobile game, I mean it is basically already running on a phone. Also really liked the simple details like how the real time is displayed at the top of the phone.
Overall I enjoyed your game. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
This is a really great looking game! Loved the concept of it and it was fun to play. I think this game could work really well as a puzzle game, maybe you could inflate/deflate yourself to a certain size to solve different puzzles. I tried to play the extended version but it seems like the link you have just goes to the original game, am I doing something wrong? Anyways, great job and congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Woo high score of 90! Really dug the simple gameplay, made for a fun little game. If you do take this project further I'd love to see a bit more depth to the gameplay. Once I figured out the basic system, I was able to defeat many of the triangles in a row without getting hit at all. Also I think it would be cool to have the walls come in much closer, even one at a time, to force the player to move around and really feel like they are running out of space! Really liked the art style, and I think this would make a great mobile game! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Really liked your game! Unfortunately, this game was too difficult for me to beat (I kinda suck at video games though :P).
Though I really did like your overall concept and though it fit the theme very well! I didn't particularly like how the gray ceiling continued it's progress throughout most of the levels. I think it is an interesting idea but it meant that you needed to have perfect platforming on levels leading up to a tough one so you would have enough time to reach the end.
Art and sound are simple but effective.
One other thing I think can be improved is the control scheme. I prefer to play 2D platformers with the arrow keys and the up (or W) key to be my jump button. Putting the jump button on the space bar seemed to make it a bit more tough for me to execute the quick platforming maneuvers you need to make to beat the game. Would be nice to have the option to choose the controls you prefer.
Overall I did enjoy my time with the game and I watched your playthrough to see what I missed out on (definitely too tough for me to beat). Congratulations on making a complete game in the short amount of time that you did!!
Fun little game! I really like the mechanic of how the more toys you are carrying, the more you slow down.
One specific thing I would like to see is a checkpoint of sorts for when you reach the mayor stage. The first time I got there, I died fairly quickly and was slightly annoyed that I had to play through the first part all over again to reach the boss.
One big thing that I think you should improve on is how the player feels to control. In most 2D platformers, the player falls towards the ground much faster than they would in the real world; this leads to a much tighter feeling game and lets the player feel like they are more in control of the action.
Not gonna lie though, I am a fan of the cheap 2D cartoony graphics, that is mostly what my games consist of :)
Congratulations on your first LD entry!!!
I'm a big fan of twin stick shooters, so I really enjoyed playing this game! I do wish that you were able to keep your weapon upgrades though. I didn't like how I lost the upgrade after it ran out of ammo. Overall, very nice entry and congratulations on making a complete game!!
I definitely enjoyed your game! It was pretty challenging at first but I soon found out how to optimize the game and I was quickly able to rack up a score of 69000 before I finally called it quits. It got to a point where I had over 100 moves available and it wasn't really going down from that. I think if you made the game a bit more difficult your score increases, it would be a whole lot more fun. Your art style is simple but very effective. Overall I enjoyed my time with your game. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!!
Hey this is a really fun game! I think you did a really good job at making a game that fits the theme really well and is fun to play! Amy suggestions I would give you would just be things to add in future versions of the game. I think you could increase the difficulty a bit by having large pieces and/or blocked off areas in the truck. Also I really love the name "Ludum Delivery!" I though the music was good/fun and fit the tone of the game very well, though the audio effects were a bit too loud. Other than that, great entry overall! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
I really loved the concept of this game. Great use of the theme to give the player a boost at the sacrifice of some negative gameplay effects. I really appreciated how the positive and negative effects did not stack up on each other, because that would make the game waaay too challenging. I found it a bit tough to perfectly time my jumps onto the platforms with enemies on them, especially the one with two enemies on it. But I was able to beat the game after a dozen or so tries. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
Really calm and relaxing game, I enjoyed it very much and honestly would love to chill out and just play more levels of this game. Your music was excellent and perfectly fits the game.
At first I thought I needed to move other triangle pieces into place and it was a bit challenging but still fun. Also I thought the movement was a bit to "mechanical." This made it a bit too difficult to navigate through the little tunnel, but I was still able to do it in only a few tries.
Really enjoyed my time with your game, and congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
Loved the theme. I thought the idea of a Congo line on some disco floor floating in space was a really funny idea. This was a tough game to get a high score in (I think mine was 17) because the longer you got, the easier of a target you were for the dancers. I wonder how the game would have played if you got points for successfully shooting one of the dancers because then you would get a little reward for sacrificing one of the people in your Congo line. One other small thing was that I found it a bit difficult to make two moves in succession i.e. going up and then left to make a U-turn. Other than that I though you made a great game, and it was a neat twist on Snake. Also music was really good. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours.
Kinda messed up little game haha. But I thought it was pretty fun and silly. Would be nice to see a little more challenging platforming puzzles and such. But overall fun little game that looks and plays pretty well. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
Neat little game, that fits the theme very well! I thought that the zoom function was a bit unnecessary because at the beginning of each level, I just zoomed out the screen to the max level. Also I would have really liked to see a bit more challenge to the game, whether that be criminals and citizens that walk around or little puzzles that need to be solved along the way. Overall congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
@kromeboy Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!
@folex70 Shoot, I think I allocated 1GB of memory for the game, probably way more than this game needs and it may just be maxing out the memory in your PC. I can lower the memory allocation and re-upload later tonight though.
@folex70 Just uploaded a new version with significantly lower memory allocation. Still seems to be working fine for me. Hope you can play now!!
@mgsx Yeah sorry, this was supposed to be just placehoder art, but ran out of time to make anything better :P
I have seen some other Tetris games use this control scheme, so I figured I would follow suit, good to know you found it a bit strange though. Thanks for playing!!
@arcus I agree, one thing that I would have liked to add into the game is a variable drop speed that increases the longer you play the game. The sacrifice mechanic adds a small amount of interest to the game, but not as much as I would have liked it to, maybe it could work a little better with some tweaking. Thanks for playing!
@neon Thanks for playing! I agree, SFX, music, and other little graphics/effects would help this game a lot. As for the Linux/macOS builds, I'll keep that in mind for next time
@drevilbrain Thanks for the feedback! I'm super proud of the Tetris engine that I created so I'm glad you recognized some of the cool things I was able to put in. And yes, you can do all sorts of cool things like T-spins and rotation kicks to shift the Tetrominoes into tight spaces. Feel free to check out the postmortem video I did on this where I talk about some more of the cool things you can do in this game. Also I made a tutorial video where I go into detail about how my Tetris engine works and the mathematics behind it all. Both videos are linked in the description of my game. Thanks again for playing
@crazyrems Thanks for playing! You may have ran into a bug where you don't have enough pieces to be sacrificed so the game just gets stuck in that phase. It's pretty rare for that case to occur, so restarting your game should clear that up. And yes, I agree that this game definitely could use sound and graphical effects.
@acaral Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for, so I'm glad you liked it!
@limnori Thanks for the great feedback, I really appreciate that! Glad you liked the videos as I found it pretty fun to share some things I learned while making this game
Yes, this game could really benefit from just a few simple sound/graphical effects. Unfortunately, I just ran out of time to get some adequate ones in place.
I don't think that in the original Tetris you could send a piece directly to the bottom as you can in this game and other modern versions of Tetris. It does seem a bit counter-intuitive at first but the idea is that you still use the down arrow to step the piece down one unit at a time but then you can press the up arrow to send it all the way to the bottom.
Thanks again for playing!
@fashionbatman Thanks for playing! Yes, that is one thing I would really like to have had in this game!
I really liked your game! I though the graphics were simple, but looked nice and fit the game very well. I think you created a game with a really interesting mood, so props for that. I did think the game played a bit slow however. I usually just found myself running in circles around the map with a horde of enemies chasing me as I slowly whittle away at their health. The dodge mechanic was very useful and felt nice to use however. One other small thing thing that could use improvement is the health bar UI; because the background of the health bar is black, this blended into the background really easily, so it was a bit tough to get an idea of what percentage my health was at. But simply swapping out the background color for something that contrasts the background more is a pretty easy fix. Overall I enjoyed playing your game, and thought your game used the theme in a cool way. Congratulations on making a game in a weekend!
Cool game, but it was really tough! Thought the art work was silly and fit your game pretty well. One problem I noticed was that I couldn't seem to build towers when the game was in full screen mode. Again, great little game and congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Great job! Such a cool concept, I love seeing interesting mechanics like this in games. I thought you did a good job at breaking the 4th wall so to speak but not over doing it. I did think that the puzzles were a bit too straight forward and would have liked to see a bit more challenge to them. Would be really cool to see what you could do with making a full length game out of this! I enjoyed the commentary at the end, and like how you exited the game by deleting the assets folder, I thought that was a really nice way to wrap the game up. Overall great and unique entry, congratulations on making a game in a weekend!
Funny little game! I enjoyed the graphics a lot and found the thacrifice guys to be pretty silly, too bad I had to slice them to bits, but thacrifaazth musth be made I guesth    Only thing I didn't really like was how much of the game was left to chance. because the game was moving so fast, you only have a very small window of time to put one of the guys in the cogs, making it difficult to determine where the razor blade will end up. I often lost all my guys from them running into a stopped blade. Anyways, I still really enjoyed my time with your game. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours.
Wow really incredible jam entry, so cool that you all were able to make that in 72 hours, great job! I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with with more time. Your audio and graphics were really great, but I would love to see some more deeper gameplay mechanics and puzzles. It will be interesting to see how the player's choices affect the game. It was really cool to see the beginning phases of something really special. Best of luck!
Great looking game that is fun to play! I think the difficulty of your game scales up very well as you play through. I would love to see more levels, challenges, and twists to the gameplay. I thought your artwork looked really nice. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
So cool that you made a game in Photoshop, also I really like the name "PhotoSheep" :). I played through the game a few times because I wanted to see all the different outcomes. I would have really liked to see more player choice in the game and it possibly lead to different outcomes. Obviously that would take much more time, but I thought your general idea was really good. Congratulations on making such a unique game in 48 hours!
Seriously great game you've got here @tygrak!!
I'm not very good at games like these, but this game compelled me to play it for quite a while. Didn't beat the game, but I'm saving this one to come back to because I think it is genuinely a really fun game.
Really appreciate how there are checkpoints - was pleasantly surprised when I got past the first level, died, then didn't have to restart from the beginning. Also glad the game works with controllers as WASD isn't my thing.
But for real I love the music in this game and it works so well with what is happening on the screen. The grayscale art is done well and is exactly what this game needs as to not distract from the gameplay and audio.
Great entry and I really hope you place high in the final rankings! 🏆
Really like the level you built here, reminds me of all the Lego games I played when I was much younger 😊
I'm a big fan of the perspective of being a small character in a big world - though the fixed camera isn't ideal but it works well for a jam entry.
Think you could make something really cool if you iron out some of the bugs. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Loved it. This is a perfect example of why lighting is so important for game design. Your graphics looked great as is, but the way the interacted with light really brought this world to life. Yes, I was a bit frustrated at first not knowing exactly what to do, but it made me feel very accomplished when I did figure out all the little mechanics. Also, I kinda respect the fact that there aren't any boundaries in your game and you can go on forever and get lost, something about it kinda fits the mysterious and ambiguous nature of the game (even if that wasn't you initial intention   ) But great job overall, one of the most unique and memorable games I've played.
Saw your post and I clicked on your game because I thought you had a cool name 😁😁
Really like the artwork you created for this game! The one improvement you could make is to make it a bit more clear about what platforms in the trees the player can walk on. Otherwise thought the atmosphere you created was great and everything looked nicely together.
Gameplay felt pretty nice but I think there are a few quirks that could be ironed out with the jumping. Great job and congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Nice puzzle game! The barriers and castles added a nice twist to the game. I spent quite a while on level 16 but couldn't complete it, maybe I'll try again later. Really cool looking game, great job all!
Really liked the art style of your game and I thought the narrative was pretty cool too. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to beat the first level, I kept running out of time shortly after crossing the second gap, I'd say at least for the game jam you could probably make this game without the countdown timer. I think my biggest issue with the game is that there are too many controls that the player needs to keep track of, often needing to do a few things at once with adjacent keys; I found myself pressing/releasing the wrong keys a few times which caused me to instantly fail. Though I really like how you experimented with Unity's physics engine in ways that not many people are doing. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Nice little arcade game! I did kindof appreciate the "soft reset" the game does, where you lose your multiplier when you get hit, but you don't lose your score and have to completely restart. Though I wish the enemy waves stayed the same - meaning when I got hit by one of the tougher enemies the enemies would restart to the beginning. Not sure how much that would affect the balance of how you have your game setup though. The one other thing I'd say to include is just a simple background, even if it's just a repeating pattern, but just something to gauge where I am and how quickly I'm moving in the world. Otherwise I had fun with your game, and congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Short, sweet, and to the point. Loved it. I liked how you didn't tell much to the player, after I collected the first coin, I thought I'd be collecting a bunch of standard powers like a dash or an attack but when I got the 2nd coin and I could now jump twice I put it all together and figured out what you were doing; and I think it's quite brilliant, I can't think of another game that does this the way you do. The one thing I would suggest to improve would be the level design, I felt this level was a bit too linear and would be cool to see some more puzzle solving with the different jump heights. Otherwise I thought it looked and played really nice, I liked the little animation at the end to. Great job!
Awesome. In my opinion this is what game jams are all about, making a silly simple little game with a unique mechanic. The narration was done really well, it told the player enough about the world without giving anything about how the game works away. I felt really satisfied when I figured out the different mechanics in the game. If I have to nitpick something, I do think that the player feels a bit too heavy, but that can easily be tweaked. This game got real tough towards the end and I faded quite a few times in that last section, meaning I had to play through the whole game again to get back to that point, but I'm glad I stuck with it because I though it was such a good game. Also very rewarding to escape! Congratulations on making a great game in 48 hours!
Another IT guy here... thought this game was really funny. Especially liked the joke about the people calling about the microwave being broken   I knew I wasn't the only one who made a game about keep IT alive
Would love to see more minigames similar to putting out the server fires, but I think what you guys made in the jam is great! Art looks really good, game is fun to play, and of course very funny. Great entry overall!
Beautiful game you've made here - I thought all the characters looked great, each had their own unique style that made it clear what it's purpose was, and they all fit into the world nicely. I would suggest to make it a bit easier to select individual and multiple characters - I ended up just selecting all of them and moving them as a group, but if I could select specific characters or groups easier I might be more inclined to split them apart to take out enemies from around the map.
Also I think you could find a way to encourage different strategies maybe by incentivizing players to move around the map - I found myself just making all 5 guys just stand on the platform for most of the time waiting for enemies to come to me - maybe have bonuses and powerups throughout the map?
But I think you all did a really great job, impressed that you made 5 different characters all with unique abilities and animations. You should be proud of yourselves, congratulations on making a game in a weekend!
Nice little game you've made! I especially like how creepy the music gets the further you venture away from the campfire. One small thing that I think could have helped out is to have some texture on the ground or a few other objects on screen like trees just to give the player a point of reference of where they are moving and how quickly. Also it could be a bit easier to pick up the sticks especially as you gain speed.
I quite liked the ending, it had me laugh out loud. Unfortunately after I completed the game, I wasn't able to load the next scene - according to the debug console, you may have had a typo in the scene name.
Anyhow, solid entry overall. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
@aschab That's the pro gamer strat right there!!
@neo97 Thanks, glad you enjoyed! That's great to hear, I'll check your game out for sure!
@paul-avallone the Cheese whip is OP 😁
@carkh thanks for playing! You're a pizza delivery guy soooo.... kinda hahah
And yeah not sure what those frame drops are about, I was seeing those on my machine too
Congratulations on finishing the game and submitting! The game played well and physics interactions worked well. Though I did find it quite challenging and I don't think I managed to get a single star throughout the game. Would be nice to give the player a bit more leeway at first and have them easily get 3 stars and increase difficulty. The graphics look nice and the scene is well put together though!
Well done team - was not expecting a cool sub-plot for this game haha. I love the style of the characters and they seem to fit well in the simple world you've built. Was fun to play, though I was able to get by without using the gum mechanic much. Congratulations on finishing the game and submitting!
Nice game! Great level design - the golems at the end were awesome! The truck felt a bit sluggish and unresponsive at times, but it is an old truck after all 😊. There were also a few times where I got permanently stuck on the terrain, and some of the terrain was difficult to judge and made me lose a few times, but pretty good for a jam game nonetheless. The physics interactions were good too - I like how the truck launched when you messed up. Ended up finishing with all 5 barrels in 4:20!
Funny little game, I like the concept of the "reverse delivery." I will say that the guards seemed to notice me too easily, even if I was behind a wall, and it was too easy for them to catch up to me and corner me, was very challenging to get away. Also I think it would be interesting to make it so the guards only arrest you if you are doing something illegal - i.e. in another person's house or holding a present, but just walking around empty handed or in your own home, they would let you be. Congrats on completing and submitting your game!
Funny little game - nice job team! The physics interactions were a bit unpredictable and wonky which was frustrating at first, but that kinda leans into the fun of this game so it works!
Congrats on your first jam game! As others have said, the flying was a bit weird at first, but I got used to it and ended up quite liking it at the end when you could fly endlessly. I didn't understand the concept of pressing W while flying as the instructions made it seem like doing that influenced the initial take off angle. I thought it was one of those games where you choose your angle and power and your character just goes based off that trajectory. I did also think the gameplay was a bit slow to reset and I would have liked to have been able to play around with the flying some more, maybe have some obstacles to dodge or bonuses in the air to collect. Once again, nice job finishing and submitting your game, keep it up!!
Nice little game! I thought the car controller was actually pretty fun, although it was a bit annoying that the streets were so narrow and that I kept getting stuck on the sides. It would be fun to have wider streets (or at least the ability to drive on the grass) so I could drift around and play with the car controller more as that is the best part of this game IMO. Also though the overall goal of the game was a bit too easy as the timer only started once you picked up new pizzas at the shop. Would be kinda cool to have pizza orders continually rolling in each with their own timer and you have to balance picking up and dropping off the pizzas. Nicely done though and congratulations on finishing and submitting your game!
Fun little game! Though it was a bit challenging as the main character was at the bottom of the screen making it difficult to aim forward as I'd need to pull the mouse below the screen. So it meant that I really only had one shot at throwing a paper to a doorstep, but I guess that adds to the challenge of the game 😊. Nicely done and congrats on finishing and submitting your game!
Nice little game! I thought you did a great job at slowly introducing the different mechanics to the player. Unfortunately on my first "real" day on the job, the game froze when I denied a business package with a bomb in it - happened twice so unfortunately I couldn't get further than that. Was definitely starting to get into a good flow on the second playthrough. Congrats on finishing and submitting your game!
Funny little game! Took me a second to figure out how to play as the interaction range of clicking the button and boxes was pretty short - might be helpful to have a little indicator on the cursor of when you can select something. Also a bit tough to aim the boxes, but I started getting the hang of it. Congratulations on finishing and submitting your game!
Fun little game! Like other people have said, the UI of the arrows was a bit tricky and I had to think a bit before each move. Cool to see you implement a few different mechanics in the game - was able to get through most of the levels without any trouble, but you have me stumped on the last one!! Congratulations on finishing and submitting your game!
EDIT: Was late when I was playing and I figured out the solution right after I woke up haha - had to come back to finish it!!
Nicely done! The FPS movement feels really great. Though it would be nice to have some audio or visual feedback when you are getting attacked by the dogs. Also not sure if there is a way to "win." I delivered packages to all the houses but still got a failed to deliver message once I ran out of health. Neat concept with the drone dogs though, thought it was a silly little game!
I thought this was a really fun game that fit the theme really well. My only complaint is that it is not difficult enough, I would love to see much more difficult puzzles. There were a few that took me a number of tries to complete and those were by far the most enjoyable. I really think that you should continue to work on this game and turn it into something a bit bigger, I think that you could end up with a very addicting game! Congratulations on making a great game in 48 hours!
Neat little game! I wasn't exactly sure on the controls when I first began but once I figured it out, I had no problem playing though three levels. There was something I found strangely satisfying about this game that made me want to play it for quite a while. I found it pretty easy to incidentally box myself in with no way to progresss other than to go back a bit and create a new path. I think this is because you could make a single tile block off the path with only tiles ajacent to it on the corners making it impossible to remove from the board. Also I would love to see some sort of score counter that maybe rewards you for large block clears and a low number of moves to reach the end goal. I definitely enjoyed this game! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Server was offline when I tried to play. Let me know if it comes back online and I will play/rate!
Hey cool little game! I really like the combination of the two games. Would have like to see you lean a bit more into the "memory" aspect of Simon Says. I think that the difficulty could ramp up a bit faster, the game is too easy at the beginning. Game looks and sounds great though! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
I must say, your game looks very nice! All the art in the game looks really well done, props for that. I think that the most important improvement you can make would be to give the player more feedback. This would give players a better idea of how the actions they were making effect the gameplay. These could be simple visual cues or sound effects. Overall, nice game I had fun playing it! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Hey really good game! I like how everything in the game is completely turn based, from the enemies and attacks all the way down to how the potions slightly rotate on each advancement of the turn. Though I do feel that the game was a bit linear. I think this game could be really compelling with more exploration and secrets to find. I really appreciate how when you die, you don't need to start the whole level over again, you can just pick up where you left off. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
Wow really great game! I think you did a really good job at combining two genres. I feel like the cards were different enough that it felt like I needed to make smart choices with how I used the cards without the game being too complex. I feel like the difficulty was perfect, it was tough but not too difficult that I wanted to stop playing. Every time I lost, I wanted to play again because I felt like I was sooo close to beating the level. Graphics and audio were also very nice! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Neat little game, though I had to thouroughly read through the instructions to figure out what was going on in this game. I like how there was a bit of resource management and that you could never have more than four tokens combined between the two players. I found the word guessing section to be a bit difficult because there were a few times that there were multiple words that could be derived from the given set and this caused me to lose the game. Props for making a game from straight python though! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
I really like the baseball engine that you made. I feel like the turn based gameplay lends itself really well to baseball gameplay, so this game works really well. I had fun playing and it was pretty challenging to score. Kinda cool to play baseball in short little steps like this as opposed to realtime. I think your graphics look really nice! Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours.
This is a really great game! Wish I had someone else to play with right now, but I will definitely be giving it a go with some friends soon! I do think that it is a bit too complicated though. I think this game could work really well as a more casual game with 1, maybe 2 attacks and a block, but that's just my two cents. I think you did a great job at combining two types of games that looks and plays really nice. Also I think my favorite move has to be the one where you throw the other player over your head and behind you, feels very satisfying and looks silly! Congratulations on making a complete game!
@ludum1118 Thank you, I thought it fit the game very well!
@folex70 Thanks for playing!
@Jack Hipson I agree, that is the one feature I would have liked to add in the most. I think it could add a bit more complexity to the game because you would need to read through the message and decide if it is spam or not.
@kromeboy Yes for this one I wanted to make something a bit familiar to me so a tower defense game felt like the right choice at the time! Yes this one is a bit tougher because you need to make split second actions instead of just placing a tower and letting it do its thing like in Turbo Laser Arcade. A TD Papers Please could be really interesting!
@Colin Misbach Thanks for the positive feedback, glad you enjoyed playing!
@Anonymous Glad you liked the concept! The one thing I would like to add in is more variety in the email messages, because it would force the player to think about the decision of spam or not. It does get tough quickly!
@Ripter Yes, it does get really crazy towards the end! I probably didn't make it clear enough in the tutorial but you need to click on the fisherman within a very small window of time in order to catch the email. This is especially challenging when you have a few fisherman spread apart on the map.
@LMB Thanks for playing, glad you had fun! LOL I definitely know about being flooded with emails! 🙃
@Chaseplays Great, glad you liked it!! I really wish I had more variety in the email messages, would have made for a much more interesting game, I think. Yes this game ramps up in difficulty very quickly, it was sort of intentional because I wanted to force shorter play sessions because I knew there wasn't a whole lot of variety in the email messages.
@LeviDSmith Fair enough, thanks for playing!
@maymakegame Thanks for playing, glad you had fun! Yes it is a pretty tough game to get the hang of and the difficulty ramps up very quickly.
@Bonelazy Glad you liked it! I was going for something that was really weird and off the wall :D
@Beebo-Studios Great to hear it made you laugh! I really wanted to make a funny game for this jam, I feel like the topic lent itself very well to humor. The one thing I wish I could add in is more variety in messages, I feel like that could have added a really interesting element to the game. I think the real time decision making would make the game waaayyy too difficult LOL!
@Veilastrum Thank you! I was definitely trying to make something unique and humorous, glad you saw it that way. Yes, it does ramp up very quickly in difficulty, would be interesting to see how it would play with better balancing....
@tastelikecoke Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!!
Cool looking game and really interesting concept! I felt that the stealth mechanics were a bit tough. The "enemies" moved quickly in unpredictable patterns and there weren't enough spots for the player to hide. I thought that the music was very comical and fit really well with the look and feel of your game. Congratulations on making a game 48 hours!
FYI, I tried to play it on the native player on my Windows x64 PC and the player stretched across all my monitors and cutoff large sections of the screen, so I had to play it with the HTML player. However it was not sluggish as you had mentioned that it may be!
Cool little game! I thought it was a bit easy at first but it actually seemed to get pretty difficult. Solid game, would have loved to see you add in some elements from games of other genres. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Cool little game! I would have loved to see what you would come up with if you integrated a chess game into this game. I didn't have anyone to play it with but it would have been interesting to see what that gameplay would have been like. Congratulations on making a game in such a short amount of time with new tools you hadn't used before!
First off, fantastic looking game! I felt that you did a really good job at creating a unique mood and everything in the game feels like it should be there. Very good use of a simple color palette! I played this game for a good while but unfortunately found it too difficult. I think one of the main reasons for this was the "tower limit." I feel that I could not have enough towers to keep all of the enemies away from the cores to actually beat the game. I got pretty close to winning but some bug in the game caused me to not be able to move up anymore and so I got stuck in the lower right corner of the level :/
Anyways, I think what you made for this jam is really great! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Great looking game, I had fun playing. I thought it was way too difficult because you were basically playing two different games at once. I also didn't like how messing up in the rhythm game temporarily disabled that track on the rhythm game, this made it way to difficult to keep getting bonuses. But I can't deny that you did a great job at combining two genres! Congratulations on making a fun game!
Neat little game, cool idea. This game was pretty tough because running into the walls immidieately sent you back to the start line. Also it was a bit difficult to control the turret and driving at the same time without running into walls. I would also like to see some benefits to racing a full lap around the track i.e. power or speed upgrades. Congratulations on making a complete game in 48 hours!
Thought this was a very fun game! I thought that some of the par strokes and times were too difficult to actually achieve, and sometimes the ball moved in unanticipated ways, but hey its pretty darn good for a compo game! Concept overall is very unique so props for that, although I felt that the enemy guards were too easy to get around for the most part. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Okay I really enjoyed this game. At first I though that it was way too difficult and unfair, but I stuck with it for a while and I was eventually able to understand how all the levels were structured and how to get through all of them. While I think this is a very difficult game to jump into, it is short enough that you can figure out how to get through all of the levels fairly quickly. I liked how there was a certain strategy involved in getting though all of the levels. I do think it would be cool to reward the player for knocking out opponents, I found this very satisfying and would have liked for the game to recognize some of those cool feats in the game. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Silly little game! I thought the dialogue was really funny and fit the theme of your game really well. The art looked great and the game was very stable for me! Although in my mad sniper tirade at the end where I was firing off all my last bullets, I incidentally clicked through the last dialogue screen :/
Anyways I feel like you all made a nice little game and should be proud of it!
Great entry! This is really good for your first jam game! And yes you will learn so much the more of these you do. I really like the idea of combining a stealth game with a space shmup, those are definitely two incompatible genres. It did seem like it was a bit too easy to just go into stealth mode and hide out in those shadows. But you balanced this out by having those enemies that would disable your ability to cloak yourself. I would really like to see how this would turn out if you kept developing it! Also great visuals and the audio fits very well. Congratulations on your first jam!
Great job at combining two incompatible genres! I think that your game looks really great and has nice music. I would like to have more control over the outcome of the battle. I thought the concept of the game was really funny. Congratulations on making a complete game!
Very funny game! I think you did a good job at making a game that fits the theme. Though I did find it pretty difficult to keep all the babies alive especially when large waves of zombies appeared. Game looks, sounds and plays nicely though! Congratulations on making a complete game!
Hey you made a neat little game! Looks nice and is pretty fun to play. I feel like you could have played into the card game aspect of the game a little more because the different cards basically just felt like different weapons. Wasn't super sure exactly of what constituted a "hit" as sometimes I shot arrows at a card and the card's health would go down but other times it wouldn't. Would like just a bit more player feedback for this kind of thing. Definitely had a great time playing this game. Congratulations on making a game in 24 hours!
Congratulations on your first LD game! You did a good job at combining two genres and making a solid game mechanic out of it. The one thing I would add is better player feedback so I know when I was on or off beat right away. Music was really great and graphics were solid. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
