I really like your game! I really like trying to back things into a tight space like Tetris. Great use of the theme!

One feedback it would be nice if rotation was a key (I find the right click hard to execute on a Mac)

coldfire83 2018-08-13 01:26

Great game. If I were going to nitpick (and this is a really, really small nitpick), it's that the background music gets pretty repetitive. Still, great game. Thank you.

smilewood 2018-08-13 01:35

This game was surprisingly addicting. A great simple concept perfectly executed and with awesome graphics and sounds. It took me a while to figure out how to send the trucks away, maybe having an n-screen button to send them when ready would be helpful, but once I had it down the game flowed perfectly. I lived the sounds and animation for the trucks. It was a joy every time I managed to get a perfect truck. Well done!

korso 2018-08-13 02:10

@cary-stanley Thanks for the feedback! Since quick fixes are allowed after the submission, I've updated the web version with SPACE and E keys for rotation (besides the mouse).

tero-pulkkinen 2018-08-13 02:51

I kinda liked the simple graphics. pace f the game was a little slow, but good anyway...

seafishelle 2018-08-13 02:51

This is actually fantastic. I work shipping/receiving for a living, and the SHEER FRUSTRATION of not being able to perfectly fit those DARN BOXES in there perfectly is very well represented here. Very well done.

ilseroth 2018-08-13 02:54

I had fun with this one, you and I actually have pretty similar ideas for what to do with the theme, right down to the time limit. That said, I think the audio should probably have a toggle (something I shoulda put on my own too honestly, I just ran out of time.) and I feel like I had no stake beyond "don't let them get to the end." which isn't a particularly hard challenge.

Despite that, it's a solid idea and you made it well.

soyertek 2018-08-13 02:54

Loved the graphics and mechanics, the audio effects though are a bit loud. Neat game overall!

furtive-pygmy 2018-08-13 03:06

Tetris trucks, love it. Really addictive, and great use of the theme. The music and sound effects remind me of the old Bullfrog Theme games.

tom7 2018-08-13 03:07

Good concept, excellent graphics. I had fun, although I wish the game got harder as I progressed... There are a few traps you can find yourself in, but most of the time you can just send a truck and get it back before you even need to worry about a piece reaching the end of the conveyor. I got to 832 points with 6 perfect trucks, but ran into some bug: I had a square piece in my hand that I couldn't fit in either truck, so I sent a truck and it came back, but then the piece was gone and I couldn't click to pick up any pieces on the belt nor anything else. (?) I was feeling about done anyway. :) Good game!

thepelranthean 2018-08-13 03:25

Well, this was definitely a satisfying game. I may have played it far longer than I intended to.

The pace felt a little slow, so speeding it up might increase the challenge. But honestly, I wouldn't have enjoyed a more challenging version nearly as much. There's something joyful about perfectly filling trucks over and over again.

Nicely done.

korso 2018-08-13 03:27

@tom7 Thanks for your feedback. I've fixed the bug in the web version. Regarding the difficulty, it is supposed to ramp up with each level (harsher limits for the trucks, larger travelling times, more pieces per time, etc.) But I had not enough time to adjust it better.

gaoyuan-chen 2018-08-13 04:17

It is fun to play, and the graphics / animation are amazing.

One suggestion: add '7' shape blocks so it can work nicely with 'L' shapes - otherwise once you got a lot of 'L' you don't have a good way to store them.

Btw seems this is buggy, the green shape overlap with others: bug.png

hakro 2018-08-13 13:52

Nice Idea. There might be a little bug. As some of the blocks did not snap into the trucks grid.

Also, may be make the threshold of the trucks a bit lower, so it's a bit more difficult I guess. Because now you are able to send the truck when it's half empty. So it has a lot of space to fill.

But overall, great little game.

agecaf 2018-08-13 16:38

I like the game design; the gameplay loop is simple and effective.

I'd have to say... maybe allowing the player to return a block to the moving band would make it "fairer" (though I understand it wouldn't be easy to implement); I was always taking the blocks almost as soon as they came out (I'm guessing the levels increase the difficulty, so it might be that I was still on the earlier levels), but as soon as I picked up a block I couldn't fit it was game over (after waiting for the next blocks to come).

Having said that, the game is very enjoyable to play. The music and art are simple, but work nicely together and fit the game perfectly. I'd say it is a pretty good game, well done!

dps2004 2018-08-13 23:20

Nice game! I found a bug where the music did not loop properly, but the game was fun.

dps2004 2018-08-13 23:20

artbohr 2018-08-14 01:47

Very nice game, beautiful graphics and nice sounds, also the idea is very good, I liked it very much.

cohav0310 2018-08-14 02:19

A very fantastic game! I almost gave it perfect score!

jan 2018-08-14 02:25

This is a great game. It's a lot of fun to play. Very balanced experience. :)

flashviper 2018-08-14 02:28

This is a nice game, but it is super easy and a tad bit non-intuitive. Good job!

mike-inprinciple 2018-08-14 04:20

I found it a little too easy over time, which made it repetitive, though with that said, I could have continued for a while.

This game is a space management game, and, in my opinion, has no connection to the theme, which is about running out of space, as opposed to deciding how to allocate it.

With all this said, I enjoyed playing it for a while. Thanks for making it.

saoi-games 2018-08-14 06:31

Thank you for sharing your game with me for my stream at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames

jsd 2018-08-14 14:46

LOVED IT!

Graphics and sound were amazing and gameplay was adicting enough. It perfectly fit the theme too so extra points for that.

See ya at the next "pruebarian" thread in december xD

carvster 2018-08-14 17:59

Loved playing, addictive and felt a little too slow/easy at the start and got to lvl 10 on my first play through I only failed when i picked up the wrong block from the conveyor belt and had nowhere to stole it and couldn't send my trucks out! the ability to put a block back on the belt would have been helpful!

digitaldude555 2018-08-14 21:45

Made it to level 5, it's similar to the game I made, but yours is much more polish and more fun to play. Everything is great, graphics, sound, gameplay. Good use of theme. Can't find anything wrong with it. Maybe a bigger variation of shapes would be nice.

korso 2018-08-14 22:28

Wow. I did not expected such feedback. Thank you very much everyone!

Although I fixed the small bug pointed by @tom7 and added SPACE and E keys as @cary-stanley suggested, I'll not add other things like more pieces or a button for switching off the music (sorry xD), at least for the Compo. I think this is the spirit of the Ludum Dare. Lessons learnt anyway!

@gaoyuan-chen You were so right about an additional piece. Maybe the 7 you mentioned, maybe an I shape of 3 squares. Mostly it was discarded due to lack of time for trying how it affected the gameplay.

@thepelranthean @hakro I definitely agree with you in the slow pace. If I was not so limited on time, I totally had spent more time tuning it for a little more difficulty, specially at the beggining.

@saoi-games Thank you for playing it! Pretty awesome to see how other people play your game, I quickly spotted some mistakes (of my design) just viewing how you played, for example the lack of difficulty at the beggining, the lack of clear notifications with level changes or how is not clear that you earn extra points for filling completely the trucks. Also, clicking in the indicators for sending the trucks is pretty obvious when you tried to do so, but I did not think of it during development.

@carvster I thought of some ways for letting the player return a piece to the conveyor belt, but I did not found a proper way to do it that did not end with the player repeteadly doing so each time he/she made a mistake, so I decided to keep it out. But probably there is a proper way to implement it.

@digitaldude555 I played and enjoyed your game and your originality at fitting the theme. If you have played some games like You Must Build a Boat or Puzzle Quest, you can guess that your base idea has a lot of potential. I encourage you to refine your game, I think is worth it.

I have written post a post-mortem in case some of you are curious of what problems I encountered during the development. You can find it [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/ludum-delivery/ludum-delivery-post-mortem). Thank you again for your feedback!

cary-stanley 2018-08-14 22:41

I'm seeing a bug with the red tile on the web version, where it is offset for some reason:

Screen Shot 2018-08-14 at 3.39.39 PM.png

korso 2018-08-14 22:49

@cary-stanley Definitely there is a bug there. Maybe is the same one that @gaoyuan-chen reported earlier. Sadly I'm not been able to reproduce it consistently, although some times I've seen strange things with the grid :( I'll try to fix it in the next days

Sin título.png

cary-stanley 2018-08-14 22:52

ok @korso I was using the SPACE key to rotate on the Web version, not sure if that makes a difference in debugging

korso 2018-08-14 23:22

@cary-stanley you nailed it! There was a fix in the RMB event that was bypassed when using the buttons. I updated the web version. Maybe there are more bugs, but I can play quite well now using SPACE key. Thanks!

matu 2018-08-15 04:47

Adictive!!

Good game, i'm test the windows version and work perfect!

jin9310 2018-08-15 06:36

Oh Boy! I want moooore! :) It is so catchy, really nice entry and the combination of the theme and sort of tetris is really sweet. Great Job!

pennycook 2018-08-16 01:10

I had an idea very similar to this, and I'm really glad that I didn't pursue it -- you implemented it much better than I could have!

I really like this: the pixel art is great, the music is catchy, and the gameplay is fun and intuitive. I think the only thing missing is some idea of level progression: once I got the hang of things it wasn't very difficult, and I stopped playing because it stopped being a challenge. Gradually ramping up the speed of the conveyor belt, or having the trucks take longer to return, would have kept me playing longer.

tattomoosa 2018-08-16 07:01

Great take on a theme! I often refer to packing my car tightly as 'playing tetris' and this game really nailed that metaphor. I ran into an issue where you can get stuck if you can't send either truck and you pick up a piece that also doesn't fit on either truck, but maybe that's intended. Presentation is great, song is good but could be longer, sound effects are good. Good job! I do think the difficulty ramp is a little awkward - almost no challenge until level 5 and then it gets tough quickly.

dumivid 2018-08-16 12:54

1) Audio screamers are not funny. 2) I waited for some1 to clone Tetris.

Just kidding, the game was actually original and suite the theme perfectly. The audio part was only half a joke, but I think you will figure out how to balance sound. Overall, the game leave a good feeling. My main concern would be the game speed, it starts to slow (that is my personal problem, I just like challenges from start). Nice work.

sergem 2018-08-16 18:27

Simple (to start, haha!) and fun game with pretty fresh gameplay and good interpretation of Ludum's theme. Retro style is smple, but create humorous mood. Just one sad remark is dufficulty footstep. Good!

mouthlessgames 2018-08-16 21:14

Love the art and sounds - really fits the whole mood of the game. Kinda reminds me of 90's point-and-click adventures somehow. When dropped into the truck, I can not take pieces again, right? Tried to re-arrange them.^^ Anyhow, well done - 5 stars fun from me.

Btw: I love the title screen. Wonderful piece of art

flaterectomy 2018-08-17 20:11

A fun concept, executed pretty well. Is the difficulty ramp-up in how full the truck has to be in order to get a green light? For a long time I figured there was no ramp-up but then I noticed the trucks needed to be a lot more full. That was at level 9 with 25 trucks sent (16 perfect) and 2580 points. It didn't *have* to end there, but I had picked up a block without realizing I couldn't put them back down on the conveyor belt, and as it didn't fit in the trucks either (and they didn't have the green light to leave) I could only wait for the game to end.

Pretty nice graphics, but the sounds were a little painful. Nice job!

neowhoru 2018-08-19 13:13

Pretty good game - this is a great idea for a puzzle game where you need to think good how to place things :)

korso 2018-08-20 01:59

Hello again! I've spent some hours this week updating this little game. I think it is much better now thanks to your feedback. New version has some nasty bugs fixed, including all grid bugs (I hope), better level progression, new animations, an extra piece as @gaoyuan-chen suggested, toggles for music and sfx, as @ilseroth suggested, better level progression (thanks @tom7 and others for pointing out) and some niceties here and there. I also implemented the possibility to switch a selected piece to another in the conveyor, but I did not like how it affected to the overall gameplay so I decided to left out.

Also, besides of the classic endless mode, I’ve included a secret 100 Trucks mode. It can be activated by clicking in the truck sprite in the main menu. The challenge is to send 100 trucks without losing. You can even try a perfect game if you send 100 perfect trucks (completely filled) :sunglasses:

@pennycook there was in fact some level progression, although not very polished, as you saw. I ran out of time and could play enough to polish it. Thank you for playing it!

@tattomoosa the imposibility of return the selected piece to the conveyor is indeed intended. I implemented the option to switch it with another piece in the conveyor, but it causes more harm than good (you end almost not using it, so I decided to eliminate the possibility, although you could try to re-enable in debug mode D+A keys during the game, in post-compo version).

@dumivid I'll figure out for the next jam, I promise  In the meantime, I've added the possibility to switch on/off music and effects in the post compo version. If you like challenges, you could try the new 100-truck mode in post compo version. I think that you'll like it.

@sergem Thank you for the feedback. Indeed, one of the main issues of the game was definitely the difficulty ramp. I've worked this last week to adjust it better (more difficult at the beggining, more progressive curve, 10 difficulty levels with the last one being possible if you are concentrated)

@frittatenbank Thank you for your feedback! Regarding your question, when you drop a piece it is not possible to move it further. When levels progress, you don't have time to do it, so I decided to do this way. I think in this game as a puzzle game where you can make some mistakes due to the time constraints, and where you need to think twice before putting each piece. Regarding the graphics, the use of a consistent palette for all the graphics and the awesome Piskel do wonders here :D

@flaterectomy It is indeed, but you are right. It is not obvious at all. I've posted a new version where I've tried to make this fact much more noticeable by using some animations with each level change, and by using less levels but more progressive between them. Thank you for your feedback.

@neowhoru @jin9310 Glad you liked it!

johnny-turbo 2018-08-20 02:24

Hey this is a really fun game! I think you did a really good job at making a game that fits the theme really well and is fun to play! Amy suggestions I would give you would just be things to add in future versions of the game. I think you could increase the difficulty a bit by having large pieces and/or blocked off areas in the truck. Also I really love the name "Ludum Delivery!" I though the music was good/fun and fit the tone of the game very well, though the audio effects were a bit too loud. Other than that, great entry overall! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!

meatpudding 2018-08-20 02:36

This is a really cool game style. I like the way the art and music work together to make a fun game. I was trying to place my pieces to the beat.

I felt like I had to work really hard to get the controls down. Making the trucks move with a mouse click, or leave automatically when they are full would be good. I'd also like it if you could put packages back on the conveyor belt, and maybe have it a bit more forgiving with the lose condition.

Great game!

danielpancake 2018-08-20 04:57

Very fun game! THank you for making this game ^^ but i have fps drops sometimes, maybe because of my browser

paulhocker 2018-08-20 05:30

your game is very good - it is a perfect example of ludum dare entry - everything fit together perfectly - thanks for making this awesome game

joloujed 2018-08-20 10:43

Really fun game, the mehanic is so easy to understand and get the hang of it, everything works and flows perfectly, awesome game, the only proble I found was the sounds, alittle bit loud and not very pleasing but really nice game overall.
