Interesting game, that's a really unique art style. I dig it! The movement feels a little sluggish, it would have been nice to be able to queue your moves and maybe a little faster walking animation. Still a solid game, good work!
Why only windows download? I'd really like to play that game! Please add macOs/Linux/web build!
Tip: If you add web support more people would play your game
i don't really understand what the game is trying to do , i can't even see if the game is bugged or not, but the mechanics seems interesting
Very cool! I like those kind of graphics with the paper background and the simple platforms/characters. Also the climb animation is GOLD It is just maybe a bit slow, and sometimes I think it would be great to be able to see further in the level. But anyway, good job :)
I like the art style! However the movement became sluggish and repetitive after the first few levels.
The controls are a little bit clunky, but I like the concept. One thing that might've helped with that is holding space to keep performing my chosen action rather than pressing it each time.
An undo button might be a good idea too, so I don't have to restart the whole level.
Some of the text was a little bit hard to read, but I liked the overall style.
I really liked the jump animations
Overall nice job :tada:
I like the visual style! The animations were a bit strange, but also fun. It would be nice if the movements were quicker; I often felt like he was moving really slowly. It did confuse me a little bit that the move right button was to the left of the move left button. Also, when I tried to restart I hit a bug where he wouldn't respond to commands. The fix for me was to click pause-->restart-->pause-->play; then everything worked fine. Also, after I thought I had figured out Level 7, my guy wouldn't walk left when I thought he would be able to at one point, so I couldn't finish that level. I'm glad you got a level select screen in so I could play Level 8. Great job, welcome to Ludum Dare, and keep making neat stuff!
The graphics were pretty good, but for me the gameplay was too slow
Fun game! as many have pointed out, I also feel the controls are a bit frustrating, but I guess that's on purpose, so it's not super bad. Miner nit pick: I think the move right button should be to the right of the left button :P
But still a solid entry!
@drikdrok Thanks for playing!! And yes, when we realized that the buttons were upside down it was too late, and we didn't wanted to make updates after uploading the game...
Neat little game! I must say, the art style is fantastic. I like how you kept that doodle theme for everything in the game all the way down to the text and icons.
I do think that the game plays a bit slow especially when you need to just move in a single direction for a long stretch of time.
I do like the animations and think they are pretty silly.
One thing that I think you could improve on would be the puzzle design. I think that this kind of game could work really well as a puzzle game but the puzzles were way too easy and different things are spread too far apart. Though level 7 was a bit devious :P I eventually figured out how to solve it but I couldn't walk left on the platform on the 2nd level.
Also I really liked your background music.
Overall I did enjoy my time with your game! Congratulations on making a complete game!
@johnny-turbo Really thanks for the feedback and for playing our game!! We already knew the problem of the slowy game, and we were thinking how to solve it without breaking the theme premise. If we decide to complete the game and release it we will have your contributions in mind!!
I enjoyed the hand drawn art style, reminds me of some of the simple paper games my friends and i used to play back in elementary school. The music really fits the feel of this game very well. I would keep working on this, flesh out the puzzles more and you would have a really fun casual puzzle game (would be fun on mobile)
@masterkrepta Thanks for playing!! That's the main idea, to port it to mobile!
There's a huge amount of good stuff in this game! I really like the graphics style and the game idea. The fall and turn animations are fun.
The levels are designed in a way that slowly and naturally teaches game mechanics, which is something not a lot of game jams succeed in, so be proud of that!
Some little suggestions. I would definitely focus on usability for your next project, I think that's why you're not getting many ratings. Learn how to export a webgl version - it's not hard! The font on the title screen was very hard to read against the background. The sound level was also way too high, with no volume controls. You might want to make it a bit easier to progress quickly - speed up the animations and make replaying levels less of a chore.
@tj101010 Thanks for playing!! Yes, we were searching how to put it on a web but we just couldn't handle it. And we didn't want to touch nothing from the game after uploading it so for next jams we will do it. Thanks a lot for the feedback!!
Good job on this game. I feel like the pace was a little slow, I would have appreciated more flow. The difficulty scaled well. Nice music, and animation!
@grahhhhhhhhh Thanks for playing!! We appreciate your feedback!
Interesting concept and love the art style. Had a few problems with the controls. Seems movement didn't always want to activate. As well I seem to be able to move when paused.
Interesting game! I like the aesthetic as well as the music! The mechanics worked very well. The only thing I would tweak on that is the speed. It seemed like I was waiting more than pressing or doing anything. Still, good game! I enjoyed it :)
