I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to be doing other than hiding from my villagers. Does the aura affect villagers automatically or is there a key to activate it? Adding the controls to the description might help future players. Other than that though, there seems to be an impressive amount of mechanics, depth and polish for a 48 hour game!

This was very difficult and I am still not sure I got the hang of it. There is quite a learning curve so a tutorial level would help! I wish I could get further in the game to give you better feedback though. Music is very good for being a kazoo and a pilates ball! I didn't even realize it until I read the bottom of your description.

@neverautomatic @NateTheGreat Thanks for the feedback! I think *Blind Faith* is much better than *Metal Fear* (my LD40 game) thanks to comments like these!

I improved the game description to give a better idea the controls and, especially, of what to do when playing. Next time I'll try to make this more evident in the game itself.

I think the concept is fascinating. The graphics look great. Having to use the Task Manager to kill the game had me a little worried (windows 10). I died quickly and had to play many times, but didn't seem to get any better. :\ I might need more places to hide that allow me to get closer to the people.

No luck with the HTML version in Chrome: **ERROR**: enlarged memory arrays from 16777216 to 33554432, took 11 ms (has ArrayBuffer.transfer? false) **ERROR**: Another resource is loaded from path: res://scenes/characters/worshiper.tscn (possible cyclic resource inclusion) **ERROR**: At: core/resource.cpp:78:set_path() - Condition ' exists ' is true. **ERROR**: enlarged memory arrays from 33554432 to 67108864, took 18 ms (has ArrayBuffer.transfer? false)

@jshaffer94247 Thanks for playing and for the comments! Yeah, the feeling of "I don't know what to do" is common among the players. I'll try to keep this mind for the next time.

Concerning the bugs: I tested the HTML in Chrome and Firefox (under Linux), and other than some sluggishness I didn't found any errors. Next time I boot my Windows I'll try there, too. I noticed this issue of having to kill the process (even under Linux!). I just did a few quick tests and this didn't happen with other small projects I had around using the same engine. I'll try to look further after this (but I'll try some more games first )

Faith seems to generate really slowly compared to the cost of miracles. I've spent a significant amount of time just sat on the far side of the island so that I can get enough faith to do anything useful.

I really enjoyed this unique game idea. Appreciated the homemade music that went into it as well :) Liked the rpg feel of the different abilities. Great game would like to see if you fix it up and take it further!

@The_Icy_One I believe I made it hard to understand, but making miracles actually give you faith back. The catch is that to make it worth it, you have to make miracles thar matter. For example, healing one single worshiper who is already in good health will not give you much faith back. But healing a group, or maybe a single guy who's almost dying will give you a "positive net faith".

@JustinM Thanks! Yes, I believe there are some interesting ideas in the game, but I failed to make it enjoyable. I am learning from the comments, hopefully next time it will work better!

Cool looking game and really interesting concept! I felt that the stealth mechanics were a bit tough. The "enemies" moved quickly in unpredictable patterns and there weren't enough spots for the player to hide. I thought that the music was very comical and fit really well with the look and feel of your game. Congratulations on making a game 48 hours!

FYI, I tried to play it on the native player on my Windows x64 PC and the player stretched across all my monitors and cutoff large sections of the screen, so I had to play it with the HTML player. However it was not sluggish as you had mentioned that it may be!

@johnny-turbo Thanks for the feedback! I can't really say I spent much time designing the island, I just added things until it seemed enough, but didn't do much playtesting or balancing after that (at least not in what concerns hiding places). If was redoing the game I'd also probably make it more explicit what can be used as a "hideout".

I like the artstyle and music, the game has some really interesting ideas. The concept of faith is something I rarely see in games so the ideas are refreshing. As others have pointed out I think the game should explain what the player is supposed to do better, you do have the description here, but an in game explanation of what the game is would be better. The mechanics could maybe also be explained further. I can see you have put down a lot of time on the world and the mechanics, good job!

lmb 2018-04-29 16:36

@wildcard Thanks for the comments! These are points I'll surely want to pay attention to in the next time!

Original idea.

Good job! I liked how this was a stealth game, and its concepts were fun. Overall, I found the game confusing, but I still enjoyed my time playing it. The music was quite interesting as well! Nice work!
