I got stuck on level 5 or so but had a great time. Loved the graphic when your buddy falls! Nicely polished and I had not seen this mechanic. Nice job. Can I get it on my phone soon? :)

Nice puzzle game; I enjoyed it. Would be nice to know what level I was on and how many there are. I agree that I want to restart a level that I failed to do it right.
I was having fun up until the level with get 8...but then it needed to mix it up (got bored). Kudos to you for the diversity. Liked the idea; I'd encourage you to keep working it after LD is over.
I managed most of the planets in that first screen, but Clarence was problematic! Not all landings operated the same and I don't know why. Text is funny but hard to read because it is partially transparent and sometimes text overlays the "initiate landing" button. Overall, enjoyed playing and I'd be ready for it to have another level of complexity as soon as I can figure out if Clarence is a difficult one or a bug. :)
Worked fine for me with mouse and I made it to level 16. Music is relaxing, and I can see this being built out into a nice mobile game that falls under "Zen games". Reminded me of a simplified "Osmos".
I enjoyed it and replayed to see how the alternate connections went. Nice little adventure!
I like the basic idea. Very similar to Pixel Room (phone app) but with a few more rooms to escape. I admire your graphics budget -- smart thinking for a weekend event. :)
Took me a few minutes to understand you were matching color and symbol and not tiny differences in the line thicknesses or anything (might have been a problem with the webplayer that was solved when I reloaded) Once I got that it was fun...until I hit level 14 and the top row was all bipolar devices and the bottom row was only IGFETs or some such (another EE, but I do CMOS :) Cute idea but might have a bug. (Yeah, I know, 48 hours and I'm surprised there's a bug?) Nice work. I agree that you need to explain how this fits the theme. (I'm thinking it does, but you didn't explain.)
I made it to day 6 but I'm still having trouble figuring out what I'm doing. I'd keep playing and learning if I had an on-screen legend of what things mean or some kind of integrated help to get me going. Neat idea so consider those if you keep going with it.
Cute but randomness got in the way of my cleverness, and there were a number of times where the red dudes and I hit a Nash equilibrium chasing each other around a block. I need to be able to do something about that. Hmmm.
I solved it pretty quickly but didn't know why (random lucky solve). Next version needs more levels and indicators. Nice idea.
I made it to 0! Yeah, zero. But I had fun doing it; enjoyed the retro-feel graphics and the chill out music while casually shooting stuff and getting wiped out. Repeatedly had the "playing along and having fun" and suddenly "Game Over" showed up experience. Huh? I died? Again? I needed a good 2 minute start to figure out how to build things before I had to shoot back. Never did figure that out.
Nice little game! Needs more variety as you build it out, but it's fun. My FOO strategy of flinging myself completely from side to side was still working after several minutes, so you might want to look at giving me more challenges and/or more reasons not to use that strategy forever. Nice job and cute graphics!
I really liked the music! Not the best recording, but it really made the game more fun. I died a good 10 times trying to get through the first part but it was the music that kept me going. This is kind of a Flappy Bird kind of game, and I hated Flappy Bird. I liked your game a lot better! :)
Cute graphics but I could only teleport myself. (No teleporting of marbles.) Not sure what else there is to do or what my goal is, but i think you have a good start to go play with it and figure out what people find fun. I liked the connected mazes in 2 worlds.
Cute, fun, and I died on those silly spikes several times. Still enjoyed it and would play again. So many games, so little time...
:) Glad you had fun. Original plan included levels and...yeah, well, y'all know what happened to that, right? Took me until Saturday after midnight (um, guess that means Sunday) to get the basic mechanic of showing which socks you'd collected to work. Didn't leave any time for all those other ideas. Lessons learned for next year!
Really liked the theme -- something other than shooting evil aliens with spaceships. Same mechanics but a different experience. Nice!
Interesting idea. I got my head wedged between two blocks because the body doesn't "rag doll". Managed to get out but watch out for that as you build it out.
Had to reload the page to get it to start. Interesting idea. Only had time for one level?? (Yeah, I know why...) I like the idea and hope you'll keep going.
Unity player games are all requiring reloads to get them running. 750P on the first try, 800P on the second, but I have no idea what that means. Interesting graph game.
Really enjoyed this, but it was too short for me to be sure that my choices mattered. Died quickly the first time after making thoughtful choices, replayed with violent choices and won. Hmm. I think that's the only part I didn't like. :) Nice little game.
30 or so.
It took me a while to figure out that I would travel and vacuum in the same direction and only by mouse click. The monsters seem to have an advantage in speed and numbers and I just can't vacuum up enough ammunition or outrun them. I'd suggest an easier start to the game. It was fun and funny and has potential if you want to keep going with it.
Fun. Took a while for me to figure out how to use that charged up power, but then suddenly there were red blobs all over the floor. Fun. Only found 1 poster. Was it inside the wrestle guy?? Couldn't get up on a platforms so ran out of guys to wrestle and got stuck.
Love Zen puzzles. I can't get the last part of this puzzle level, but I'll probably come back to play more. Fun and interesting. Thanks for the game!
Nice arcade game; good job making a game with a limited number of asset. Looks like you had the time to make the art for the main player quite nice. I'm not sure I've figured out how the controls are affecting the figure, but I had fun watching the poor guy flail around. I think I hit 10.
It was fun while it lasted -- but I ran into technical difficulties and it wouldn't respond to keystrokes. Neat mechanic + graphics with the mummy wrap and the walls.
Music and sound effects cracked me up. Very nicely done. Love the high tech (ha) maps with X marks the spot. Ok I need to go make another run at that level...
Simple arcade style seemed fine, but I had a terrible time getting the D key to fire. I retried several times, but no luck. I did notice the changing and cryptic messages. It was intriguing but technical issues made it frustrating. I get the tool issue. Yeah...updating? Don't. But I know you know that. :\ bummer
Very unconventional weapons. Got glitchy so I couldn't keep going, but it was fun to play. Nice straightforward rules.
I had a really hard time aiming, and my mouse seemed out of control. The game was a lot different once I realized I could jump and basically fly, but I'm not sure that was intended. Graphics were indeed very nice.
Some fun ideas, but with everything coming at me right away it was a bit overwhelming. So when you get that "more time"... :) I agree, it needs levels.
Thank you all for your comments! It is so easy to get lost in detail during the dev that you lose the big picture -- like having bad controls from the get-go, or focusing on early "training" levels and never getting a hard timed/limited level that is actually a challenge to beat. As for AZERTY, that didn't even occur to me. Big lesson; thank you.
FYI you can turn off the on-screen controls when you are using desktop -- go to the "Controls" page.
A nice zen-like game, but it needs play testing for fun. It turned into a search of pattern combinations with a lot of repeats, and then into frustration when I realized I was stuck. I think this is an interesting concept but a mechanic needs to change once there are 5 characters to work with.
$3410. Most I've played any game yet, but I've maxed out the potential for this level. Music is fun and very old school arcade. Agreed that controls are awkward, and on my laptop those arrow keys are the right size for a gerbil. The tall ladder is too hard to align for the climb and I kept getting stuck part way up. Overall though, great job for an LD and potential if you want to continue on with it.
Cool idea. Took me a while to figure out how to move; an info screen would be helpful. Or, consider putting up the tips as the countdown? Anyway, once I got it, I was still bad but the music & atmosphere made it enjoyable. I suggest starting with a super easy level to get controls worked out.
Fun. I actually liked the slower music which reduced anxiety over getting caught. Had some trouble with posters on the 2nd level and have no idea what that red skirts or lampshades are.
Nice and simple; good job choosing a project that you could complete. The AI on the computer is pretty good. Ok, well it's better than me anyway. Thanks for the game!
Interesting concept. I think I'm only controlling whether I go clock-wise or counter-clockwise, right? I suggest trying some options for larger viewport so I can plan for the mice, or perhaps larger or smaller radius around the burger (up/down arrows). I found myself just going around in the same direction as it seemed just as likely to get a random mouse as reversing direction. This caused me to burn out on the game too quickly. I think it has potential if you want to keep working on it.
That was awesome! I finally won a game today! I loved the opera singers starting to sing...I think you can do more with that theme. I didn't understand the objects I was picking up, the hearts, or the thing about the bombs, so a little more tutorial or a pop-up hint or something would be good. The final screen didn't display long enough for me to read the whole thing. Great job getting this game completed!
Fun and goofy. I'm impressed with how finished it is.
Funny combo. Yeah, it is kind of a minefield, isn't it?
The special ingredient seems to be a new variety of unobtanium. I enjoyed the spooky music and minimalist graphics. I poached something and put it everywhere, but then took it with me. I might still be walking around with it for all I know. It's kind of hard to see in this dark kitchen. Who did your decorating? Okay, so it's not finished (and neither is mine), but I see where you're going and I liked it. Hope you had fun working on it.
Nice combo! I had a hard time remembering which weapon was which. Fun to play.
I died...oh wait, not today. :D Nice little reference. I didn't understand the karma / resigned to my fate decision, so I tried twice with karma and then resigned myself to my fate. And died. I guess that's karma. Impressive graphics (like the windows with the rain and the city scrolling by!) and the footprint and arrows make travel clear. I enjoyed the game and with graphics like this I'd play more. Nice job.
I wish I could follow you on LD! This was a nice change...nothing to install and I had fun. Seems like you could make a game with this if you chose to.
Fun and clever. As mentioned above, watch out for unintended messages, e.g. "kill the science and replace with house, commercial...basically anything but science" since that's how I finally put an end to the grow and die cycle. Nicely complete in 48 hours. Needs more to create re-playability; this is a fun idea.
Lots of fun, but tormented by a broccoli that refused to show it's face. Chicken! What am I supposed to do if it doesn't show up? Clever combo and nicely polished for the short time period.
Fun game that's rated G! I think. I had a very difficult time figuring out how I was doing...the dog gives no dog clues (tail wag? ears? tongue?) Other than that, it thought it was a clever combo and I liked the "weapon".
I guess I needed an easier "Level 1". I gave it 4 or 5 tries but wasn't getting much better. This would be great on a taller screen with a little more visibility. Impressive for a 48 hour entry. Thanks for the game.
Yeah, the letter waiting annoys me, too. That's the missing game balance. :\ Too much time spent getting the fundamentals to work and not enough time play testing. More lessons learned!!
Comments are greatly appreciated. It's too late to put in a better version, but I'm going to keep working on this. Agreed on the collisions. It makes me mad when I bump my head on a platform and land on a letter I wanted to jump. My daughter figured out how to jump higher than the screen. The list grows...but I'd still like more feedback, please!
Thanks for the feedback! The only one that's not spot on is the letters...but you're pointing out that "random" is not always the best choice. The letters are always the_word+aeiou+10_random_letters. So the letters you need are always in the mix, but if the word is "Casablanca" + aeiou, then your chances of getting "a" are very good but not so much on the "n". I'll have to think of a better semi-random plan.
Ahhh...rate other games? Fix my game? Sigh. I gotta rate the other games. Thank you for the comments; I will make good use of them.
Oh! I had no idea he was drifting right! I feel bad for him, too. I need to fix that. Thank you for pointing it out.
:\ I ran out of time to do enough play testing to find these, and now my GameMaker Studio 2 trial license is expired. Comments still appreciated so that the next version is better.
I have bouncy hair! The monsters dance! Wow. My wrist is sore from all the clicking, but I had a lot of fun. Loved the arms and saws coming in from the left. This was very entertaining. Also loved the drive-through...well, more like walk-through buy/sell/trade stations. If only it were always that quick! Music track was fun and long enough that it didn't repeat too much...yet. Gonna cut this short and go play some more....
Enjoyed it...it took many tries to get past 5, but once I got the hang of it I hit 32 on the next try. I think it could start a little slower and then speed up. Everything about it is nicely polished. Nice looking game!
"Strip ball"? If you're going to take that route, I'd suggest that you do something unexpected and less cliche. Polka dotted underclothing would do the job - no need to get to fake censoring. Ragdoll graphics with a gun was pretty funny. I learned quickly that this is definitely a "shoot first, ask questions later" kind of game.
Cool! I can't seem to get past level 2 because the boat is too fast and the shooting is too slow. Will I get a power-up on the shooting? Hmm...if you have power-ups, I may come back to play. Very nice combo and I enjoyed it. I liked the music at first but then it got annoying. Either the music needs less repetition or I need to get better at this. Maybe both. :D
Ditto on the "I'm too slow and it's too late to have an effect." However, I did manage to win...just use boost a few times and cue up a "move over" and wait for some idiot to be in my way. Wheeee! I only need 2 controls. Oh, wait, that might mean something. Thanks for the game. I played it a couple of times and enjoyed it.
86! I'm going to have to play again just to figure what the 4377 just happened. Where do I tee up for the next level? :D Thanks for the game.
I wasn't coordinated enough on the vegetables so I didn't do well, but the concept is awesome! I also like seeing the cut veggies fall back down into the pot on the right. Makes the whole concept hang together very nicely.
I agree that it's more like "mission" than simulation. I don't know what those scientists I hired actually did. Maybe I didn't play long enough. I fixed my ship twice and shot things twice. And hired scientists. I need something to pull me back to play longer and motivate me to understand.
Woot! I finished! I'm not sure that a maze and story telling are incompatible...I think I've played adventure games that were both. Nevertheless, congrats on finishing 3 levels of a working game in 48 hours! I agree about the camera seeming zoomed out. It also took me a while to realize that your WASD is not like the MMOs that I play and it was literal to the screen and not relative to me as the spaceship (if it were, w would always mean "forward", "s" would mean backup). Once I got that it was literal, I was able to get around quite well. It might be easier to catch on to this if you had some kind of circular spaceship that didn't have an obvious nose to it. I would have preferred "space" to interact so that it was a completely one-handed game, a score or progress indicator would be nice, and a little congrats at the end is always satisfying. Anyway, thanks for the game!
Woo hoo! I made it to #5 on the leader board. Hey, that was really fun. Played the web version; it's nice not to have to install. I was fine with the 2D version, but I couldn't understand what the little graphics were that were left behind after I bombed something. Either I need to read the instructions...nah...or I'd appreciate a little tutorial or something to give me hints. Nicely done! If it were mine, that might be the next thing I'd work on.
I think the concept is fascinating. The graphics look great. Having to use the Task Manager to kill the game had me a little worried (windows 10). I died quickly and had to play many times, but didn't seem to get any better. :\ I might need more places to hide that allow me to get closer to the people.
No luck with the HTML version in Chrome: **ERROR**: enlarged memory arrays from 16777216 to 33554432, took 11 ms (has ArrayBuffer.transfer? false) **ERROR**: Another resource is loaded from path: res://scenes/characters/worshiper.tscn (possible cyclic resource inclusion) **ERROR**: At: core/resource.cpp:78:set_path() - Condition ' exists ' is true. **ERROR**: enlarged memory arrays from 33554432 to 67108864, took 18 ms (has ArrayBuffer.transfer? false)
I lost! I won! I feel like I'm back in college with the very first video games. Everything old is new again, and this was a lot of fun. Thanks for the game.
That was fun! I stink at jumping and always overshoot, but I got the idea and enjoyed it. Thanks for the game! I like the cute little red face.
I get further each time, but still not out of level 1. I like the graphics. I needed to know that only the LEFT ctrl key would shoot...I lived a bit longer once I figured that out. :D
Very nice! I enjoyed it a lot and it took me about 20 retries before I realized that it was too hard for me to win. I feel like I started on level 8 or something. I like having it be turn based because I can rest and it's not as stressful as Tetris. On my first turn, it seems like the "nothing to get" message comes up most of the time and I don't get to move or anything, but other times I do. I'm not sure why. Thanks for the game!
It was fun. I agree with previous comment that having some clue as to what might go over well and what might not would make it feel like I had more skill to apply. As it is, it's pretty funny but it also feels very random / chance balanced. I got a number twice but I'm thinking it'll be that service that turns you down. That was one wacky date.
Hmm...I finally figured out how to place the cats, but then I filled the floor with all but the yellow squares. I couldn't get any further. Does that make it a "cat" game? :P Thanks for the fun!
Cool concept! I got stuck between two platforms too tall to jump onto and couldn't figure out what to do. :( I had passed through one door but that's all I remember. Anyway, I think this is a really interesting idea. I like the way you built the background layers so that when the Hedgie jumps you can see between them.
Ah, I didn't realize you could win by stacking everything. I tried getting a few stacks going but for some reason I ran out of chances and didn't realize I had a limit on chances. I guess I don't know how to play. Interesting idea, though, so perhaps clarifying how to win or lose would be a good next step.
So...it's a cookie clicker text adventure? Huh. Never would have thought of that. Your story was entertaining :). Good luck turning 43...I hope there are still cheetohs or you're going to be really bummed.
Took me a try or two to get the hang of it. 2440 was the next round. It was interesting trying to watch two areas of the screen but I think I'd like it better if I could sense the note locations another way, e.g. because it matched the music like others said. Overall, impressive if you really only had 6 hours!
I liked the simple graphics and rules once I understood them. The playing field was too tall for me to see all of it on screen; I'd suggest making it R-L or something so the whole field is visible. It will need either a little more complexity or additional levels to keep me coming back. Thanks for the game!
I can't figure out how to play! I opened it in Chrome then in Edge, then finally just started mashing the keys. Something worked, but I'm not sure what. Can you provide some hints on the controls?
Had to zoom out (~90%) to fit on the screen. I got it part way figured out but couldn't get the blocks rotated. Graphics were fun.
Hmm. I guess I need to spend a little more time thinking about the choices I make. I can't say that this helps answer anything, so I may be gone for a long time. Ah! It's a puzzle game! No, wait, that can't be right... This is wacky enough to score points on the wackiness chart. Thanks for providing a different gaming experience.
I'm not normally a fan of tower defense, but this kept me intrigued. I especially like the "art" aspect. Very creative.
I think I went on vacation to a volcano. It was excellent, but then I had to come back and set the alarm clock and go to work. Or something like that. Very clever!
