LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Vikings Hunt - LD 43 Game by Corvin 2018-12-05T18:46:29Z

The game is gorgeous! I especially love the visuals of the Viking village in the very beginning. It's a shame it only plays such a small role.

It is also a shame the game itself is not much of a game. Dodging the obstacles is trivial and it didn't seem to get any harder during the 3000 meters I ran. It sure could use some sort of scaling in the difficulty. I mean, what's the point in having a score based on how far you got when you could run for all eternity and get infinite points with minimal effort? :)

And while I get the connection to the theme, it is flimsy, to say the least.

However, the game feels polished and is very pleasing aesthetically. At least you can enjoy some great views while (trivially) dodging those obstacles!

Wizard Malikens spell failed by rohezal 2018-12-06T08:38:00Z

It took me a while to figure out what to do with the first few items. Even with the hint you gave in the previous comment I had a hard time in the very beginning. Luckily, with such a small number of items and objects to interact with, the brute force approach of trying everything on everything worked. Immediately after that, though, the logic of how to progress became clear and I was able to solve the puzzles pretty nicely. Maybe an additional hint for the very first puzzle would be in order.

I really like the world you've built here. The setting has a nice mood and the characters are a bit deeper than in the usual LD games. :) However, I noticed there was a bit of a discrepancy between the diaries of Ulla, Herbert and Albert.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable entry.

Wizard Malikens spell failed by rohezal 2018-12-06T16:55:30Z

@rohezal to avoid spoilers in the comments I posted details about the dialogue/diary confusion in pastebin: https://pastebin.com/FZQabEAv.

Vulcano by backyard-dev 2018-12-03T15:42:26Z

A nice and simple game. One thing I noticed is that you can spam click on a single servant to get rid of the whole red meter at once. :)

Flock of Salvation by Juutis 2018-12-03T15:45:59Z

Thanks for the comments guys!

@sodaro: an excellent point. You need to sacrifice the birds in the middle. :)

Flock of Salvation by Juutis 2018-12-07T06:45:17Z

Thank you so much for the feedback, guys! I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my game. :)

@agwblack: you can beat the game if you manage to empty the Gods' wrath (right) bar completely. That, however, is no easy feat. Unless you fill your Mojo (left) bar, you'll only delay the inevitable. You'll need to not get hit by the birds and erupting stones to do that.

Also, aligning the cursor with the birds' shadows is a good way to hit them.

The difficulty of the game is intentional. I tried to compensate for the lack of real content with it, but balancing is tricky - especially in jam games - and I think it ended up a bit too challenging.

I'm actually working to release a post-jam version with refined balance and mechanics, fixes to common problems (like lack of feedback, difficulty in throwing the birds in the pit and getting swarmed eventually) and some additional content. So I really appreciate the critique and you guys telling me about the issues you are having with the game.

Flock of Salvation by Juutis 2018-12-07T08:39:13Z

@saoi-games: thanks for playing and for the valuable feedback! I totally agree that the core mechanics of the game should be explained/indicated more clearly in the game itself. This is especially true in a game jam where the players aren't likely to spend that much time figuring out what to do.

Regain Power by shp 2018-12-04T17:03:21Z

That was fun! Great mechanics with the grappling hook and the secrets were a nice touch. I found out about the secrets just after I picked up the 5th battery and spent like 15 more minutes finding all four. :)

Sometimes you starve I guess... by LANIK2000 2018-12-03T19:58:42Z

Wow, that was fun! :D I was supposed to be playing and rating a ton of games today, but instead I ended up playing this one for like two hours. Really nicely done!

However, I never found out the purpose of item slot in the center of the bottom row. :(

@arkiruthis I had the same problem in Win10. Setting the screen scaling to 100% (it was 125%) in Windows Display settings fixed it for me.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Leif is Life by phi 2019-04-30T18:00:02Z

What a nice game! I accidentally cheesed through the game on my first try as I sent all my Leifs to the very first battle, not realizing they would all die. Turns out the food from that battle was enough to sustain my last Leif all the way to the finish.

Subsequent playthroughs didn't work out that well when I tried to play "properly".

LD45 — Start with nothing

Nepton by Juutis 2019-10-09T17:59:38Z

Thank you all for the feedback! Really warms my heart to hear you've enjoyed the game.

@sir-galloy-de-fierpate: Yes, each and every sound was recorded with my own mouth. :)

Nepton by Juutis 2019-10-13T18:29:16Z

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback, the nice words and criticisms alike.

I wholeheartedly agree with the game being a tad too slow-paced. I believe the issue is inherent to the whole design of the game, especially the way the buffing statues work. I actually dislike the current design quite a bit and I'm trying to re-design parts of the game as a personal exercise (I've _never_ done anything even close to this ). Maybe there's a post-jam version coming up!

@ryu: Thanks! Don't dig too deep though, you might find something nasty!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Sunk Cost by bradur 2021-04-30T05:57:20Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Glad you enjoyed our game!

I see a lot of comments about aiming of the torpedoes. I do agree that aiming without the upgrade is clunky and hard. Maybe the "homing effect" shouldn't be on/off like it is now, but rather the torpedoes should always home in on the mouse cursor and the effectiveness of the homing could be upgraded.

@fabula-rasa the aiming mechanic is by design. You make an excellent point! I added a note about the mouse aiming to the key bindings.

@drgrognak never played Operation Neptune. I can definitely see the similarities, though! :grinning:

Catlantis by fabula_rasa 2021-04-29T15:09:11Z

For a game jam entry this was a very polished and complete game! Good job especially on the graphics and mood department. You also managed to pull off the casual combat mechanics really nicely. Outplaying those evil fish felt satisfying.

My only real gripe is that the item that provides light was a bit hidden. I managed to miss it on my first try and had real hard time trying to find my way in the pitch black caves . Maybe such an important item could be placed in a bit more obvious location to reduce frustration.

Anyway, a very strong entry!

LD49 — Unstable

Cat Connect by Zhanna 2021-10-11T16:39:39Z

Wow, awesome graphics and audio! Love the style and polish! The concept is great but unfortunately the gameplay is a bit lacking.

As mentioned in earlier comments, the random glitching as your energy drops is not a very fun mechanic. It makes recovery from a low-energy situation very hard and frustrating. I figured the best way to deal with it was to just suicide and try again whenever my energy went to below 50%.

Also having to manually connect the plugs with the 'e' key was a bit awkward. I managed to miss the plug by a hair multiple times. So, instead of connecting it my cat just released the plug and I had to fetch it again. It would be more forgiving if you didn't have to plug it in using the 'e' key, or at least have it so that you don't drop the plug if you press 'e' in the wrong spot.

I did manage to beat the game, though, and overall it was a really impressive entry.

Unstable World by Rayo 2021-10-11T17:44:22Z

Now that's an ambitious game if I've ever seen one! Unfortunately the most "unstable" thing for me in this entry was the amount of bugs in the different UI systems. I gave it half a dozen shots and each time I got stuck in the UI one way or another. One time I managed to get the inventory and the pause menu on at the same time, while another time I was somehow stuck in the buy menu and the pause menu simultaneously. I feel like pressing escape was a super risky move whenever any UI was open.

Nevertheless, that's an impressive amount of content for a jam game, even if most of the actual assets are pre-made. I would've liked to see the quests that lie beyond "kill 6 gunners", but I'm afraid the struggle with the UI bugs was too much for me.

Can't Wait by Jonathan Alderson 2021-10-09T09:22:22Z

The controls seem to be framerate-dependent. At first - with uncapped framerate - even the slightest touch to the movement keys would send my waiter flying into that direction and the plates would immediately drop. When I capped my framerate to 60 the game was playable.

The game itself was fun. Great use of sound effects made crashing into tables and other people very enjoyable. Even if that wasn't exactly the point of the game.

Power Horse by Electric Bonfire 2021-10-11T15:36:06Z

Great graphics! The platforming is solid and combined with the clever mechanic of balancing the heat and steam makes for an enjoyable experience. I wish there were some checkpoints along the way, though, since starting over from the very beginning when you die is brutal.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Pyramid defense by Maskrosen 2022-04-09T07:43:59Z

I think this is a solid base for a tower defense game. The economy is a bit funky, though, since upgrading the single target tower increases the cost of the splash tower upgrades, and vice versa. This inevitably leads to a situation where the optimal strategy is to upgrade only one of the towers.

Comet by EduSilva 2022-04-05T15:15:52Z

This game looks and sounds amazing! The controls are tight, but the gameplay itself is a bit lacking. It felt like my actions made no difference whatsoever. I was able to launch the cannons once or twice per run and the difference was only a few seconds. I would've liked to be able to _delay the inevitable_ just a little bit more. I guess that fits the theme perfectly, though.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Heartbeat by Shess 2022-10-09T17:34:13Z

This is a very polished game. The audio and visuals are top-notch! The gameplay was very hectic and there was an almost panic-like urgency to flick switches and push buttons.

That said, the keyboard bindings could use some improvement. Since the game is running in browser Alt and Ctrl are dangerous buttons due to the browser's own shortcuts. For example, in my Chrome Alt moves focus to the browser settings and Ctrl+1/2/3 switches tabs. I had to be really careful not to press too many buttons at once and after pressing Alt I always had to bring focus back to the game with a mouse click. Needless to say, in such a stressful game this added some unnecessary frustration.

Also, I had very little time to read the text prompts after all of the ship's "features" came online. My eyes were too busy scanning the dashboard for things to fix.

Overall this was still one of the best entries I've played in this LD!

Gladiatorius by Juutis 2022-10-04T17:44:32Z

@antti-haavikko thanks for the extensive feedback! The game doesn't indicate it in any way but it is not endless. The enemy with 10 HP is actually the last one.

I agree that in the game's current form there's not that much strategy involved. Essentially it all boils down to using shorter cards to scout the enemy's actions, hoping that they play a longer card AND that you have the appropriate cards to counter them.

I think something as simple as showing the enemy hand would go a long way to help strategize more. During the weekend we also had a bunch of ideas for cards with special effects (like manipulating the "timeline"), but in the end didn't have time to implement any of them.

The character animations were made with the Unity animator. Each character consists of a bunch of static sprites which are animated with simple transforms. A poor man's rigged animation, basically. :grinning:

Gladiatorius by Juutis 2022-10-12T18:18:13Z

@juss thanks for the detailed feedback!

It may be a bit unclear, but the theme is incorporated into the "timeline" in the top. Each action in the cards takes 1 second to perform, so each hand/round takes 10 in-game seconds. Obviously that's not real-time seconds since the player spends some time picking cards etc.

Orbit Jam by GameJMunk 2022-10-08T11:30:15Z

Is the web version working correctly? For me the satellites just keep falling off the screen after launch. I can't seem to put them in any kind of orbit no matter where I aim.

Frosten by Kaech 2022-10-09T19:19:15Z

Great job on the music and visuals!

The core mechanic here is cool but it's a bit rough on the edges. The floaty/slippery movement (which kinda makes sense given the icy environment) combined with the precise timing and having to restart the whole level when you die makes the game very punishing.

I think the game would feel more fair with a few very simple quality-of-life changes. Like the previous commenters have mentioned, not losing your "level building" progress upon dying would be great. Additionally, I think the game could remember the order of blocks so you wouldn't have to rearrange them every time when you restart.

Also, the first jumps of level 7 are very tricky for no apparent reason, other than just frustrating the player for the sake of it.

Still, the game kept me in its grip all the way to the end. There was a surprising amount of content! I spent a good 15-20 minutes on it.

Meteoriseten by Igor Morgun 2022-10-08T19:29:06Z

The aesthetics are great in this game. Especially the background looks very cool. Unfortunately the gameplay falls kinda flat. The meteors are so fast and the blob is so slow that it's basically impossible to reliably dodge the meteor. Maybe an indicator that would show where the meteor is going to fall would help a with this.

Good job on finishing the game, though!

LD52 — Harvest

Zarguuf's Big Berry Heist by bradur 2023-01-14T09:32:27Z

@antti-haavikko wow, that's impressive! We actually found the teleport-through-walls glitch when developing but decided to leave it in for curious players to find. I'm glad that paid off.

Typefarmer by Antti Haavikko 2023-01-10T20:05:15Z

Wow, for a typing game that was insanely fun.

My only gripe is that failing a word resets the word fully _even if the mistyped letter was the first letter of the word_. Using the example from the previous comments, if you have the words CAR and RAM, the fastest way to type them would obviously be C-A-R-A-M. In my opinion, also C-A-R-R-A-M should be acceptable, but currently typing C-A-R-R will fail RAM and reset it fully, which results to you having to retype the first R again. So, you actually have to type C-A-R-R-R-A-M.

This is obviously a super tiny detail, but I found myself making this mistake multiple times. I couldn't just type words I saw on the screen but I had to actually think if the previous word ended with the same letter(s) as the next one. In the later stages of the game when the going got hectic this actually added a fair bit of cognitive load that I felt unnecessary and it slowed me down considerably. That goes doubly for when there were multiple shared letters.

Typefarmer by Antti Haavikko 2023-01-24T15:33:54Z

@antti-haavikko I think having the previous and next word match is a fine mechanic for scoring extra points. The problem is now the player is penalized for not doing it. If you have the words CAR, RAM and ARSE, you could have it so that CARRAM is accepted and scored normally. CARAM scores some additional points and CARSE even more extra points.

Eden Harvest by KeichiTS 2023-01-16T15:32:46Z

What a great mood in this one! At first I had some difficulties in deciphering exactly what to do. Right now you have to go through the whole dialogue with the NPC's even if you're carrying the correct flower. That threw me off quite a bit as I thought I had the wrong flower when the dialogue started and instantly went for a different flower. It would be clearer if the NPC accepted the flower instantly instead of at the end of the dialogue.

Definitely a great entry, nevertheless!

Kilzpacho by FullHeartGames 2023-01-11T17:50:03Z

That was great! Simple yet engaging. Attack speed felt like the most powerful upgrade by far. Putting like 10-20 levels into it seemed to improve my damage output by _so much_. That combined with the shotgun meant that any enemy would die almost instantly when they entered the screen.

LD53 — Delivery

Astra Delivery by LTyrosine 2023-05-06T12:54:55Z

Wow, what an ambitions entry! The graphics are very nice. Unfortunately, the gameplay-wise the game falls flat due to the hard controls, as others have also mentioned. I was able to finish the tutorial and deliver one package in the actual game, but ran out of fuel immediately after. I guess one way to make it more forgiving would be to get rid of the fuel meter altogether. Then you could at least fly around and learn the ropes without having to worry about being super optimal in your rocket thrusts.

Derro Delivery by 3mpty 2023-05-02T15:52:30Z

The vibes are great with this one! You really nailed the mood! The physics in their janky glory were quite enjoyable and very fitting. If anything, maybe there could be a way to rotate the object you're holding to make it a bit easier to load your car.

I loved the unorthodox ways you could play with the physics. For example, I found the easiest way to transport ice cubes was to stuff 4-5 of them in the shotgun seat and then glitch yourself to the driver seat through the back. I also had some trouble getting the fridge to the truck bed so I ended up pushing the thing with the truck. The fridge got kinda stuck to the front of the truck so it was really easy to just push it all the way.

Hot Dog Rescue by Roolow 2023-05-06T10:37:09Z

A very interesting entry! It's got a nice old school vibe to it. Initially I found the game very hard. Almost frustratingly so. But then I realized the ice cube "regenerates" a bit so I started playing a bit more strategically, and was able to beat the game in a few tries!

I think I found one bug, though. If I dropped the ice cube from the helicopter very late so that it lands on the lava, the ice cube would often fall right through the geometry and go out of bounds.

Overall, very good job!

The Rum Run by BananaBobBert 2023-05-06T11:52:46Z

Wow, that was great! This is a very polished and well-rounded entry. There's so much content and the enemy variance is great.

Gorgeous visuals, too! I particularly enjoyed the distortion effect on the shadows of underwater enemies.

If anything, the bosses felt like major bullet sponges. I lost my cannon powerups before the last boss so fighting it was super tedious.

The Rum Run by BananaBobBert 2023-05-06T12:05:17Z

Alright, I gave the game another go. I think it suffers from a common syndrome in SHMUPs where you can spiral way out of control with the upgrades. I focused on not getting hit and just maxing the weapon upgrades and the bosses melted like butter.

I guess this problem is inherent with the mechanic where you lose upgrades when you get hit. Get hit and the game gets harder, making you take in more hits and lose more upgrades. Don't get hit and you snowball into this unstoppable force that destroys everything as soon as they enter the screen.

I dunno how to easily fix this, though. Especially without major overhauls in the mechanics and upgrade balance.

The Rum Run by BananaBobBert 2023-05-06T12:33:21Z

@andreas-roschal yeah, that's totally understandable. Given the time limit, proper balancing is a very hard job. Nevertheless, you were able to pull off one of the best games I've played in this LD.

RogueLike Delivers by Ausstein 2023-05-04T15:11:08Z

Wow, now that was something! A very ambitious entry. I really liked the sheer amount of playable content. I found myself a bow and was able to beat the game with it: roguelike_delivers.PNG

It's a bit rough on the edges, though. I think the following things would need some polish for the experience to be a bit smoother: - Some additional feedback for hitting enemies and getting hit. Yeah, there's the health bar but it only appears when you hit someone for the first time, so some additional indicator would be really nice. In the beginning I had really no idea if I was hitting them with my butter knife (turns out I was out of range). - The camera was awkward at times. Especially in the snow fort level where you have to go uphill. It's really hard to see what's up ahead. - Ranged weapons were hard to aim with and overall kinda janky with the animations and projectiles. Once I figured out where to aim, though, my bow felt really overpowered. The enemies simply died before getting anywhere near me. - The enemies would often get stuck in obstacles (which frankly made the bow even more powerful ). I suggest you check out Unity's NavMesh. It's super easy way to get basic pathfinding into your games. - Your weapon resets when the encounter starts. A minor inconvenience but still frustrating when you always have to re-select your weapon. - The green texts on the items are a bit hard to read. I'd suggest you increase the contrast between the text and the background.

Nevertheless, this was a thoroughly enjoyable entry and I spent a good 30 minutes playing it!

Tentacle Delivery by Cloistered 2023-05-02T16:37:23Z

I like the overall look and feel here, but like others already mentioned, this mechanic doesn't really work with the current camera perspective and the game becomes pretty much pixel hunting. I think you'd either need to change the perspective or revamp the mechanics so that the challenge comes from something else than just finding the correct angle.

Delivering Lustful Spirit: Desire Manipulation by Eclair 2023-05-06T11:08:44Z

Impressive graphics and audio! The game feels very polished.

A couple of gripes, though: You could activate the risqué images through the tutorial texts. Made me lose a few rounds before they even started. Also, the timings on the later levels felt really tight. I actually got caught in two levels while I simultaneously made it to the finish, so I was kinda confused when I failed but then the next level started.

Overall, a very enjoyable entry!

Mailville by the neon shark 2023-05-03T18:01:58Z

Wow, what a polished entry! You really nailed the look and feel. Shooting mail and sliding around felt very satisfying.

Nuclear Delivery by DaniilPrasolov 2023-05-04T16:27:53Z

Quite nice graphics and audio. I wish you could turn the car without also pressing the up button.

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-05T17:26:16Z

Wow, that was super polished! I'm really impressed with your entry! My only gripe is that it's really hard to grab anything when the screen is moving up. It kinda prevents you from going full speed.

De-Livery: A Game About Organ Removal Surgery by Real_Human_1000 2023-05-06T13:27:38Z

Great interpretation of the theme! I love the stretching effect! Were the blades and stretching supposed to do anything, though? I got 490 points per delivery no matter how much I stretched the liver or touched the scalpels.

Delivery Drive by Volodymyr Karchevskyy 2023-05-06T12:30:14Z

Considering the time limit this is an impressive entry with both, walking and driving around. That said, the driving part could use some polishing: it's really hard to turn around on a street since the turning radius of the car is so large. You also get damaged super easily when you can't touch the curbs even a little bit. I also found it hard to find a good parking spot since the other cars would ram my parked car and cause me to lose.

I also with I could run diagonally when moving on foot.

Overall, it's still a very good entry!

Delivery Survivor by Smoky01 2023-05-03T14:54:14Z

This is a great base for a Survivors-type game, but as it stands it's a bit rough on the edges. Initially I had trouble figuring out where I was supposed to take the rune, but once I found the different colored circles it clicked.

There could be some feedback when you hit enemies. Right now it's hard to tell where the attacks are hitting.

Also, at some point the enemies just seemed to stop spawning at all.

Good job on finishing a game in your first jam! You managed to stuff plenty of features and some nice graphics in there!

Apocalyptic Pizza by hatheus 2023-05-03T15:13:47Z

For a muscle car this one has terrible acceleration. I think you got ripped off, buddy!

In all seriousness, technically this is a very impressive entry! Once you got the momentum going it was very fun mowing down the zombies. Unfortunately, the fun was usually short-lived as there were quite a few obstacles hiding behind the buildings. Some obstacles were very hard to see through the faded-out buildings.

LD54 — Limited Space

Diableotes by Dining Philosopher 2023-10-07T12:25:29Z

Wow, that was much more engaging than what I expected initially! The core loop is very _very_ solid. After a couple of failed rounds I simply had to beat it. Great job combining Flappy Bird with Vampire Survivors! Turns out they mesh really well together!

I agree with the notion that Avalance Dash is overpowered. Paired with Fecal Bombs it kinda trivializes the game as you can just bounce between the wall and the middle block. The avalanches clear most of the enemies (and in the end deal massive damage to the boss) while the poopy bombs keep your precious little bouncing area clear of any random stragglers. I tried quite a few strategies and this seemed to be the most reliable.

Botpourri's Space Chase by Antti Haavikko 2023-10-05T16:08:15Z

Yeah, that was kinda good. Kinda addictive too. It was a bit demotivating to realize you used int (signed, mind you!) for the high scores. It was even more demotivating when the game crashed before I could submit my score of -2,000,000,000. :(

On a more serious note, a freaking great entry. I honestly spent an hour playing it.

I'd say the scanner upgrade (so you can see the spawns) was a bit overpowered. Once I got it there was essentially no way I could die as long as I planned my moves carefully, only tackling a single pack at a time. Then it was smooth sailing (well, as smooth as it gets with the 10 or so FPS I was getting when some seriously huge packs started spawning ) all the way to the score range of 2^31, when the aforementioned loss of motivation happened and I suicided, promptly crashing the game.

Botpourri's Space Chase by Antti Haavikko 2023-10-05T17:23:06Z

Okay, okay, I got this! What the game _really_ is about is who gets closest to 2,147,483,648 without going over! That's actually pretty darn hard if you ask me!

Yeah, the crash (or freeze, really) happened after dying with a negative score. I was also having horrible FPS due to the sheer number of enemies, so it might also be related to simply too much stuff going on.

Also, I don't think the "heal when you activate a new node" actually works. Should it heal when you connect to a new computer or when you buy an upgrade? Neither seemed to work for me.

Squire of Holding by Juutis 2023-10-08T08:16:26Z

@smiley405 thanks for playing! The loot gets better (bigger/harder and more valuable items, better rarity) as the levels progress, but it's still random by nature. There's also no difference between flipping stones, opening chests and looting goblins. They all have the same chance to spawn turds.

Quantumine Capture by VicoXue 2023-10-08T08:12:00Z

That was a very fresh twist to the old classic and a very solid entry overall! I enjoyed the chill yet mysterious mood and the little world building you managed to squeeze in. That said: - The start of the game was kinda text heavy and it was hard to understand the mechanics like that. If the tutorial was entangled with the actual gameplay somehow, maybe it would be easier to understand and internalize. - I believe I got into a stalemate situation a couple of times: there was no way to know that any single tile is 100% mine or 100% free, and I just had to pick a random tile. Now, if I understood correctly, that's when you always blow up due to the quantum nature of the mines. In these situations I just had to take the loss, restart and hope for better luck in picking my starting tiles. - A super minor notion on usability: since the gameplay works with only the mouse, I don't see a reason to use Z for advancing the dialogue. You might as well do that with a mouse click or a button in the UI. My cat jumped on my lap when I started playing and she _hated_ that I had to use two hands to play the game.

I wanna emphasize that these are very minor gripes and I thoroughly enjoyed the entry.

KAAMOS by PabloAbraham 2023-10-06T16:26:38Z

Great art style! Very Disco Elysium!

The vehicle feels kinda sluggish. Maybe this is on purpose to enhance the mood (which you guys totally nailed, by the way!) but it's a tad too unresponsive to my taste.

Unfortunately there also seems to be quite a few game-breaking bugs. Eg. if you accidentally re-enter the first or second location after leaving them you get stuck in the dialogue. Also I'm not sure if the lake was supposed to be traversable. I somehow got on it and was unable to leave.

Greedy Joey by Metsker 2023-10-08T16:56:01Z

Great entry! Pretty addictive, too!

I got heavily swarmed on my first few tries but then I found a nice little cheese with the sword. I upgraded the melee damage a couple of times so I would one-shot all the enemies and then just pump attack speed. I could simply stand in one place on the lower side of the ship and kill all enemies by swinging upwards as that hits both left and right. Nothing could touch me at that point anymore.

I eventually bought the bigger ship but that seems to be bugged? In the next level there was no booty and no ship. greedy_joey.PNG

LD55 — Summoning

Salmoning by kuviman 2024-04-18T16:34:51Z

I don't know what I expected when hitting R but it most definitely wasn't a song about "saunaklonkku". Absolutely glorious.

Siela by Gnum_ 2024-04-18T15:22:18Z

Impressive graphics and atmosphere! Unfortunately, the gameplay is pretty lackluster. With the given mechanics the game could've been a chill exploration experience, but with the time limit it felt like you just have to sprint to the next marker. There wasn't really any time to take the world and atmosphere in. That's kinda sad given that the world is beautiful and clearly thoughtfully designed.

Faust by HellHound 2024-04-18T16:02:19Z

Great art and sound! I especially like the background parallax effect. Really sweet! Unfortunately, the basic gameplay itself is kinda janky. Especially the attacking requires some getting used to. Also, was the dash required at any point? Or was it just a flavor mechanic for the combat? Anyway, the level design is good, and I feel it leverages the swapping mechanic nicely.

NECRO RUSH by helviett 2024-04-18T15:39:55Z

It took me embarrassingly long to realize the zombies rising from the graves are actually *my* army and not enemies. :joy: I was *so* confused, trying to run away from them, but then the game started making sense.

Great simplistic gameplay with a great deal of polish. Really well done. I feel like the "Overlord" difficulty was actually easier than "Necromancer". The golems in the start really gave them hell.

Child of Ruin by Rick Williams 2024-04-18T17:23:13Z

Wow, the sheer scope of this game is insane. Congrats for actually pulling it off! Obviously it's a bit rough around the edges but I can't really complain when the production is of this size. You've got some serious collaboration skills.

DURO by Fenix131113 2024-04-18T16:19:35Z

Wow, the graphics are gorgeous! Combined with the audio they made for a very chill experience! A very polished and solid entry. Congrats!

Shadow's Hunger by Radjax 2024-04-18T14:44:57Z

The graphics are cute but I have absolutely no idea how to progress in the game. :grinning: I can traverse between the first room and the ritual room by coughing up a portal but apart from that I can't really figure out what to do. Nothing seems to do anything.

The Alchemy Show by LightOfGloRy 2024-04-18T14:12:33Z

A very interesting take on the theme! I had some trouble getting started as it wasn't that obvious how to combine the different ingredients, but eventually it clicked. Trying the different potions was cool, but grinding towards the dragon heart got kinda repetitive after a while. Overall, a very enjoyable entry!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Tiny Rampage by LandoSystems 2024-10-09T10:38:28Z

Holy crap, that was intense! :joy: The controls might have been a bit clunky and what not, but who actually cares with voiceovers like these? I had an awesome time and I'm not gonna let any gameplay issues gonna ruin that.

Mighty Mice by Chartle 2024-10-08T12:59:58Z

Huge props for going for a RTS in a game jam! It's simple but very cute. Controlling your troops with a central hero character is kinda innovative. I liked it. Makes you feel like a commander rallying your troops in the thick of it.

I noticed that the build buttons for spearmice and archers are inverted. I was confused when I thought I queued 9 archers and then got a full pack of spearmice.

Also, the archers don't seem to be dealing any damage to the cat. I managed to barely beat it when I trained only spearmice.

Cheddalier by outstar 2024-10-08T13:48:26Z

What a fantastic entry. Very polished. Great audio and visuals and rolling the dice was satisfying.

The combat was kinda innovative, but turns out the initiative/attack/defend mechanic can be cheesed quite easily. Since there's no real downside to failing your attack rolls, all you really have to do is make sure you win initiative every time. Always commit max dice in initiative and then attack with a single die. This lets you trivially level up all your dice to 1d12 and then just breeze through the enemy.

Tiny Trooper by Juutis 2024-10-15T12:29:03Z

Thanks for the feedback, everybody! I really appreciate it!

@alexis8: the key for shooting is X or , (comma). It's explained in the tutorial in the beginning but I guess I should've made it more obvious.

Hardened Chitin by Stames 2024-10-09T07:40:51Z

This is a great base for a card game. The card visuals are great. I like the shiny effect very much.

Unfortunately there's only a single card that's worth using at the moment, but as you've already mentioned, that should easily be fixed by randomizing the hand, discarding used cards and making unit positioning meaningful.

Anyway, keep it up and this is gonna be something great!

Goo Patrol by Mateu 2024-10-08T11:28:55Z

This was a simple yet fun game! Great graphics and audio. The goos especially were super cute. The intro and the main menu were really cool additions and give out a very polished feeling.

Pied Piper's Payback by Crygos 2024-10-08T07:20:39Z

This was a solid entry. While I liked the lore sections in the start and in between the two parts, I wish there was a way to skip the text.

I feel like there's something off with the movement but I can't really put my finger on it. I think it's a bit too fast and feels kinda weightless. Maybe adding some slight acceleration would make it more lifelike.

Overall a very enjoyable entry. Also, I'm glad to see some great folklore in this jam.

Cordyception by Rakthalekk 2024-10-09T07:19:48Z

This is an absolutely fantastic entry. Awesome visuals and audio. I loved the detail where the bugs would get the parasite antennae whenever you possessed them.

The controls were decent - just a tad floaty. They could be a bit tighter. Dying when stepping on stones seemed like an unnecessary (or maybe underused?) mechanic that kinda served no purpose but to frustrate the player. Maybe there could've been some puzzles where the mechanic is utilized more? Also, some of the puzzles were very tricky and I think I solved some of them (eg. the second to last) in unintended ways.

These are very minor gripes, though, and overall you have a very _very_ good and polished jam entry here.

Leafling builders by Kotolazer 2024-10-08T09:15:26Z

Great entry! Such a chill autumn mood. The graphics and audio are top notch.

At first I had some trouble understanding that you actually have to use the mouse to grab and pull the orange leaves. But once I got that, man, the snipping felt so satisfying. Somehow it really feels like you're actually plucking those leaves out of the tree. Also the swaying branches when you jumped on them was a very nice touch. Really makes the world feel interactive and alive. I think it's those small details that turn this from a good entry to a great entry.

Little Friends by bearcage 2024-10-08T07:59:41Z

Wow, what an ambitious entry. It always takes a special kind of crazy to go for an RTS in a game jam. But you actually managed to pull it off! Hats off to you guys!

There's a lot to love here. The overall mood is very nice and the little friends are adorable.

However, the game was a bit hard to understand at first. It took me a good while to figure out how to turn my units into axe men. There was no indication that the flower was interactable. Also, I think a minimap would help a lot. The view is kinda small and I got lost quite a few times after panning the camera too far away from the base. The vastness of the level was also problematic sometimes when I would hear one of my units get eaten but I would have no idea where that happened.

Once I figured out the main mechanics of the game I found the winning strategy to be using single units to lure the bad guys into spots where they would get stuck and then just roam freely with my workers.

The game also crashed for me once after cutting down the first big tree. Dunno really what happened. Everything froze except the music kept playing.

Motomon by Jawdan 2024-10-08T08:39:14Z

Great game! I loved the characters and the voice acting in the character selection. Gameplay-wise it's a solid core for a karting game. Aiming the basic missile was kinda tricky in the hectic race so in that sense the homing missile was way more powerful. Also, hitting things and getting hit could use some more oomph. There was close to no indication when the missiles hit.

I couldn't quite figure out if the only way to win the race is to eliminate every other racer. If it is, then I'm not sure if racing hard and fast is the correct play. The easiest way to victory seemed to stay behind the pack and just blast everybody - which seems kinda counter-intuitive in a racing game.

La Révolution Francheese: Bonamouse by MrBananaz 2024-10-09T10:21:13Z

The art in this entry is insane! Great job!

It took a while to get used to the movement mechanics, but once I got that the gameplay was surprisingly fun. Drifting around, grabbing cheese and gathering my loyal followers!

What I would like to see is more feedback for player actions. Like when the player dies in a trap or triggers the small mice to follow.

Tiny Tale by Gimodor12 2024-10-08T08:52:54Z

Wow, the ending was truly something! The mood kinda hinted at something like that but I still didn't see it coming. Overall this was a very solid narrative experience. Cute graphics and great audio.

The Fallen Chicken by Heborine 2024-10-08T11:39:44Z

The chicken sprite is nice but apart from that this entry seems unfinished. I can't seem to figure out what to do in the game.

LD57 — Depths

BTW: Beneath the Waves by Aurel300 2025-04-12T08:54:44Z

This was a treat! The visuals are absolutely gorgeous and the music is banging! The mechanics are impressively complex and the tutorial teaches them very nicely. What I would like to see, though, is a couple of more missions to really explore the mechanics. As it stands, you kinda get the hang of things and then the game is over already. For a solo jam game this is obviously totally understandable (maybe even expected).

Also, I love the little detail that you can actually see the crew in their positions inside the ship between the levels.

Kika's Eggsplosive Descent by kazuo256 2025-04-11T15:38:48Z

This was great! Having such a simplistic control scheme is always fun to see and I think you guys pulled it off perfectly here! There's a surprisingly lot of mechanics and variety to the game. Kudos to you!

Dantes Descendants by elZach 2025-04-11T19:38:58Z

This is actually insane! The character customization and the multiplayer aspect is absolutely nuts for a jam game.

The combat is awesome, and figuring out the best combos is really fun. It's great that you can check the opponent's builds so you can get some ideas in the beginning. The only suggestion I have is maybe there should be a timer for the battle, or some way to detect a stalemate. My full-healer team went against another full-healer team and the battle actually never ended. Neither side was able to dish enough damage to overcome the healing.

Scavenger Deep by hope42morrow 2025-04-09T16:03:13Z

Wow, the graphics are absolutely stunning here. The animations are gorgeous. Definitely one of the best looking jam games I've ever played!

The gameplay side seems to fall a bit short, though. I'm not sure if there's anything to do besides diving and collecting scrap. You just scavenge stuff and then... nothing happens. I'm not sure if you can actually do anything with the money. At least I didn't find any purpose for it. I experienced some issues with the suffocating sound getting stuck on repeat even after coming to surface, swapping the air bottle and getting out of the suit. Also, when going up the cable seems to pull the diver towards the ship. This caused me to get stuck in an underground cliff at one point. I couldn't move anymore so I just died there. I also think going downwards could be a bit quicker. It took forever to go down to the deepest parts of the level.

Overall you guys still nailed the graphics, audio and mood. Truly a gorgeous piece.

Rappel the Porter by Reuh 2025-04-10T13:47:31Z

The concept was super innovative! The implementation is a bit janky but I guess that just adds to the charm. I encountered the same issue that's been discussed in the previous comments, that the adventurers were asking for items I didn't have (and couldn't possibly have). One instance was when I got one red potion and one blue potion in the beginning, and the adventurers asked for two red potions straight off the bat. I couldn't possibly have had two of them at that point.

Also, holding an item when the "organize your bag" timer runs out seems to glitch out the whole game:Screenshot 2025-04-10 163648.png

Overall this was still a very fun (and funny!) entry!

Descent Protocol by fingolfin 2025-04-11T19:07:44Z

Great art and music! It's awesome to just chill inside and jam to the music as the drill rumbles downwards.

As others have also mentioned, the gameplay was a bit confusing at first. Once I figured out how to operate the drill, the gameplay was kinda trivial, though. Start drill and immediately stop - fetch resources - repeat.

I think I also encountered a couple of bugs. I was able to exit the drill from the wrong side and go out of bounds. Also, for some reason I couldn't enter the engine minigame when playing fullscreen. Maybe it has something to do with the 32:9 aspect ratio in my monitor? I was carrying a fuel barrel but I couldn't activate the engine with E. In windowed mode it worked fine.

Oh yeah, and kudos for making a UI that scales decently with a 32:9 monitor. Usually LD games are completely unplayable for me in fullscreen.

Depths of Hell by GabrielGameDev 2025-04-10T14:29:39Z

This was great! The music and the voiceover was awesome! The platforming worked nicely, especially the movement skills work very well. If I had to nitpick, I could say the movement is a bit too floaty to my taste. Also, it seems if you jump at a platform from the side, it'll block your horizontal movement, whereas jumping up from below lets you go through the platform. This caused me to die a couple of times awkwardly . Also, I agree with the previous commenters that restarting the run after dying takes too long. In this type of game I would like to immediately jump into another run when I die.

Those are really minor gripes, though. Overall you did a fantastic job here!

Antz vs Plantz by Blue Pin Studio 2025-04-12T07:58:01Z

Oh wow, this was actually super nice! Very polished! I thought I found the ultimate strategy by planting garlics in the top row and blowing up the bosses before they could hit anything. That worked nicely... until it didn't. Maybe their HP increases over time? Or maybe I just missed my garlic explosions. Anyway, eventually one got through my line of garlic defense and all hell broke loose.

I also found out garlics and gold coins are not a nice combo. I blew up so many garlics accidentally trying to click those coins. :grinning:

The Depths of Gitche Gumee by Deruitda 2025-04-11T16:24:38Z

I found SS Edmund Fitzgerald! The basics are nice in this game and it's quite packed with features. I especially liked the sonar effect. A full-blown upgrade system is always impressive in a jam entry!

That said, the movement felt kinda janky. Especially narrow spaces were awkward to navigate. The balance of the resources seemed off: I don't think there was ever a good reason to mine the green gems. Additionally, I think the flashlight was too weak. It provided very little help in mining in the dark areas. The illuminated area was so small and aiming it correctly was awkward. It also depleted the battery pretty rapidly so there was never really any point in mining in the darkness. Filling my trunk with gems just above the line of total darkness seemed like the optimal strategy. Also, I found a sword. That was super cool!

Overall this was still a very enjoyable entry!

HIM(1).Locked by fosf0 2025-04-11T18:05:43Z

Wow, this was actually insanely good! The art was amazing and the atmosphere was so oppressive. The animations were absolutely gorgeous. Very fresh interpretation of the theme, as well! I also loved the little details like the clock getting synced with your system time and the sound icon in the system tray actually controlling the volume. I managed to beat the game with some tips from the comments. I completely agree with the above comments about the spaces in the passwords. Figuring out the correct permutation was very awkward at times.

TRENCH by toilari 2025-04-10T16:17:08Z

This was great! For a jam entry, it feels like such a complete game. It took me around 30 minutes to beat the game. Managing to cram a boss - let alone two! - into a jam game is always hella impressive. :grinning:

The only real issue I had was that going to the next level was always a dice roll of do you land safely or is there a bunch of fish directly below you. It felt as if sometimes you simply can't avoid taking damage when the enemy spawns are unfavorable.

That's a very minor gripe, though. Overall you still did a fantastic job!

Also, why do you hate fish so much? :slight_frown:

Loot Well by retonymy 2025-04-11T18:32:38Z

In all its simplicity this is actually great! I think the crate is way too wobbly, though. The optimal strategy seems to be just letting go of all your input devices and let RNG handle it  (as also mentioned in the other comments).

Incentivizing movement (or even forcing movement with obstacles in the middle) would maybe help a bit, but I think the core issue would still remain: the movement of the box is too chaotic and the whole thing would still devolve into a RNG fest.

Also, there doesn't seem to be much you can do to dodge the spike balls. It's pretty much up to the timing of the cannons whether they hit you or not. Maybe you could have limited movement up and down as well, instead of just left and right?

BURIED by meylish 2025-04-09T16:20:25Z

This was a great short experience! The graphics are beautiful - the greyscale palette works really well for the style and the mood. The controls are a bit janky but I guess that's part of the charm/challenge. I enjoyed that you guys included some meaningful QTE's that don't outright kill you if you fail but they definitely make it easier to die to the boulders. Overall a very solid entry!

into the forest depths by Fliegen 2025-04-09T17:27:16Z

Great graphics! The targeting mechanic is cool but I think the balance is a bit off. Simply spamming head seems to be the optimal play when the enemies die outright with 2-3 successful hits. I couldn't actually finish the game with any other strategy. Severing the arms or legs took too long and I always ended up dying eventually.

HellDigger – A Cozy Idle Game by sangheli 2025-04-11T17:13:56Z

This is a nice base for an idle game. Unfortunately currently there's very little choices to make: usually you just put the workers into the single place where they can go and then watch them churn away. Also, in some levels it felt like there was so much initial equipment that all I needed to do was to assign everything to the main objective and that's it. The mining speed seemed to cap at some value (maybe framerate-dependent?) so there was also no point in trying to increase the speed anymore after a certain point.

Depth of Moments by Lev Ramburg 2025-04-09T17:46:19Z

Absolutely gorgeous art! Loved the dog. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any interaction with him/her. I managed to give the ring to the girl and that seems to be the end(?).

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Don't forget by Piller Yann 2018-04-28T17:53:24Z

What a nice little game. It took a while to get the hang of things but soon it all started making sense. I found a couple of bugs/issues: On my first play-through I used the sink as my very last action and it triggered the dinner scene and the ending scene at the same time, playing the texts for both scenes at once. Needless to say, it was quite confusing. Then, in the dialog where I needed to input text, the text needed to be capitalized correctly. On my first try I didn't capitalize the word and things went bonkers. :) My second play-through was much smoother, though, and I actually could make sense of the final scene. Also, the English used in the game is a bit off (using 'he'/'his' to refer to a woman etc.). Apart from these minor gripes, the game was fun and had a really nice atmosphere. Great work.

Hedge-Hop by Juutis 2018-04-26T20:06:33Z

Thanks for the feedback guys!

@tsjost Sorry to hear about your sea sickness. You think it's the FOV? Or maybe the missing crosshair/cursor? I've heard people getting sea sick due to both.

No, the camera is not supposed to constantly pan. Must be some kind of random weirdness. :) And yeah, I agree that a true 2D FPS would be nothing like this game, but if the camera truly was in the in the same plane with a 2D world then there wouldn't be much to see. :)

To be honest, my first idea was to make a game with the idea of "just another day as a full-time 2D game protagonist" where you're kinda like a movie star, running around in this three-dimensional set with a camera crew filming on one side and some billboards used as a backdrop on the other side (but your movement would still be locked to two dimensions). Obviously that was waayyy too ambitious for a 48h jam. :)

Bebop's Breakout! by don.shinski 2018-04-29T10:24:21Z

Wow, that was awkward. I had to actually check the solution for the final puzzle from the source code. What a wonderfully incompatible set of genres you got there. :D I really hated it (in a good way). Nice work!

Bump Quest 6 by Siactro 2018-04-24T19:49:45Z

This was definitely the most fun game I've played so far! The graphics, sounds and especially the soundtrack set such an awesomely wacky mood I could only enjoy myself to the max. :D Agreed, the controls are a bit tricky, but apart from that a freaking great job!

LD59 — Signal

Meina's Train Cruise by Oradimi 2026-04-21T16:39:20Z

That was a chill journey! Dropping down to 30 from full speed was brutal, though, and cost me a couple of runs.

Radio Silence Gone by Juutis 2026-04-22T17:40:16Z

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

@tykki19 The walls are real 3D objects.

Klat Shat by Xahon 2026-04-21T10:55:38Z

A solid puzzle entry! The theme is incorporated nicely into the puzzle mechanic, but I think in some of the more complex puzzles you could skip the signal mechanic and intended solution completely and go straight to the finish with just a few moves.

TranscendAnts by JudJudson 2026-04-21T09:26:56Z

Yay, my ants have transcended! What a clever take on the theme! It was kinda hard to grasp the mechanics at first but after studying the ant movements for a while I got the hang of it and was able to finish the game. I think a short tutorial could work wonders here.

I love the core idea where you're not directly controlling anything, but rather giving hints to your ants. However, the implementation is a bit rough around the edges. It was very cool to see the ants move to the beat of the music, but eventually it became jarring as the music started breaking and rattling.

Placing a long path of pheromones was a bit tedious as you had to always re-click the pheromone button after placing one. Keeping the pheromone selection active and allowing the player to place multiple pheromones in succession would work wonders here.

The pathing on the ants seemed to be very naive and the ants would turn back if there was anything blocking their way between two pheromones. Sometimes it was tricky to see that the path was blocked, and I had to really pay attention to see why the ants weren't reaching the objectives even though I thought I set up a very clear path for them.

Overall there's a lot to love here! I really enjoyed the experience. Good job guys!

Echoes Beneath by Joseph Tan 2026-04-21T15:54:44Z

The concept is cool but the progression seems very unclear. First I tried giving everything to the big dude and he just told me to go retire somewhere and that seemingly blocked all further progression as I wasn't able to go on any more missions. Then I tried not giving him anything, but game seemed to hard-lock after 5 missions and I had to restart the game. Then I tried giving him everything but the dangerous information and he took me with him to some sort of boss fight room (maybe?) but I had absolutely no clue what to do there.

The platforming gimmick is nice, but everything else is just very confusing. It also seems that you can hard-lock yourself inside a mission if you run out of the blue juice.

Glacier Call by Kerioth 2026-04-21T13:07:47Z

Great graphics and mood! I love the dithering effect! The ominous creatures frozen in the walls were cool. Kinda short, though. But still, a very atmospheric entry. Good job!

Babushka Tower by SID37 2026-04-21T07:33:14Z

What a great entry! Very innovative! The graphics and atmosphere are very charming. Hats off to you guys for producing so much 3D art in such a short time. Great writing, too. I loved the little details that Dedushka revealed in the dialogue.

The physics are pretty janky but that just adds to the charm. I only had real issues with the physics when getting things out of the house and cellar. It was kinda tricky to get bigger things through the doorway.

The mouse sensitivity was also pretty high on my setup in the web build. It's usually a good idea to include a sensitivity setting in any first person games. This is especially true with Unity as there are some inconsistencies with the sensitivity when running in the editor vs. the web build.

Those are very minor gripes, though, and overall this was a very enjoyable entry! Good job!

We're Breaking Up by RobotChimp 2026-04-21T11:32:42Z

Holy crap that was awesome! Very chaotic and very fun! It's even got great replayability with all the different callers. Honestly I don't have any negative feedback for you guys. It was such a sweet and polished experience.

Also, I'm never going to the woods again fearing the deer will find me.

Too Many Goblins! by Tykki19 2026-04-21T19:01:09Z

Very nice take on the tower defense genre! I kinda like what you guys did there with the battle phase: instead of idling and waiting for your towers to slaughter the waves, there's actually something to do for the player.

The game plays very well, the graphics are beautiful and it's a very polished entry overall. Great job!

This seems like a solid base for a signal-based puzzle game. However, the puzzles are fairly trivial since you can always just match the frequency with Conv + Tuners, and then go for maximum power with Growers. There doesn't seem to be any use for Clamps and Spores.

The oxygen meter is kinda odd mechanic since you can pause the game with space bar. I would always build the grid while paused, then unpause, run the simulation and pause immediately again. It pretty much makes the oxygen meter obsolete.

Nevertheless, good job finishing a full game! Welcome to Ludum Dare!

Nice entry! I had some trouble figuring out the controls and the mechanics. I was able to finish the game but I'm still not sure if I fully grasped the mechanics. Like, what happens if you select different colors with the Q menu and mouse click/scroll? Sometimes something seemed to happen, but I have no idea what. Usually I'd just select the color of the crystal with Q, then select the color gain with mouse scroll, which seemed unnecessarily convoluted.

There's also some points in the map where you cannot see the ledge where you're supposed to go. I think the map helps a bit with that, but I still had a few moments where I had to take a leap of faith.

The art and mood are strong and overall it's still a solid entry.

DRAW!!! by Alpharius_003 2026-04-21T08:10:10Z

Charming art and great mood! I love the simplistic approach you guys took. For a one-button-game it has a surprising amount of depth.

The samurai is absolutely brutal, though. I'm not sure if it's my wireless peripherals or my old man reaction time, but I had a really hard time in hitting timing there with the normal difficulty.

Also, I'm not sure what "OFF RHYTHM" is supposed to mean. A couple of times the samurai flashed the real signal and I clicked, thinking I was fast enough but I got "OFF RHYTHM" instead of "TOO LATE". I'm not sure what I did wrong there. This was especially frustrating when I got the samurai to 2/3 and the final hit was off rhythm.

I did finally get the samurai, but it was definitely a struggle.

Overall a great and nicely polished entry! The tutorialization was top-notch!

Busy Signal by Lonely planet 2026-04-21T18:30:56Z

Well that sure was annoying! I suppose that's kinda the point of the game, though.

I like the idea here, but the execution is a bit rough. I had some trouble figuring out what to do in the game. The tutorial gave me some hints but it is pretty vague. For example, it took me very long to realize how to do the "long press" tasks. It takes so long to complete them that I thought my actions are doing nothing. They could really use some sort of indicator to let the player know that they're doing the right thing, but it just takes a very long time.

In the end I got stuck in the "Fold the Clothes" task. I can't seem to figure out how to do the tapping task. It just shows 0/3 no matter what I do and where I click.

The idea is great and art is beautiful but I seem to always get stuck in the third plant. No matter how I arrange the tags in the different boxes, the "Finish" button doesn't do anything.

DragonSpell by kraith 2026-04-21T17:17:12Z

This was very confusing. I finished the game but I'm still not quite sure how to cast spells. I kept hitting different element combos and sometimes it resulted in a spell but most of the time it didn't. It was also very unclear what the objective was. Maybe just surviving for long enough?

Not being able to clean _their_ chimneys was such a missed opportunity!

The lost signal by Cazik21 2026-04-21T15:00:50Z

Great writing! I really enjoyed the story. Unfortunately the 3rd and 4th tape played the same text for me, so I'm not sure if I missed one piece of text.

The gameplay was simplistic but I think it served its purpose in such a story-driven game. Taking off from the planet was brutal as you couldn't see that far ahead and there was so little margin for error. In the end you really had to take your time to crawl forward in order not to hit all the debris floating around.

Small Among Storms by ShanzPro 2026-04-21T10:40:24Z

This game is absolutely gorgeous! Awesome audio and visuals! The mood and atmosphere of the forest are really great.

Unfortunately the gameplay is a bit lacking. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there doesn't seem to be any coyote time or input buffering (as in, if you press UP just a frame before landing from the previous jump, the follow-up jump doesn't trigger). Also the movement in the water seems kinda off. Like, when you jump into water you just drop down to the bottom like a rock. Overall there isn't much margin for error in the platforming mechanics.

Thematically the signal gimmick is strong, but I'm afraid it makes for poor gameplay. I spent a good chunk of time just waiting out the dangers, as the owl and lightning were sometimes staggered so that when the lightning hit, the owl warning would play right after.

Overall this was still a very enjoyable entry. Excellent work!
