Nice!
cute
Fun twist on the classical puzzle. Unfortunately the game crashed on the third or fourth level when I placed my third marker it stopped responding to any input. I'm pretty sure that I placed it on the correct spot, if that helps.
I liked the dialogs and the graphics, though pacing-wise it was quite a lot of information and dialogue in the beginning and it might have been nice if it had been broken up with some small example of what was being explained.
Well, when I touch quantumine, game crashes...
@local-minimum Thank you for the feedback! We've fixed the crash problem. We'll improve the instructions later.
@metagen Sorry about that! We've fixed it. It should be good now :)
Cute game. I'm always down for some Minesweeper. I'll admit it feels like the game obfuscates its basic rules more than necessary, which is to say, "it's exactly like basic Minesweeper, but you're only allowed to keep a certain number of tiles uncovered at the same time - the rest is up to logic and memory."
With this in mind, and the fact that the solutions appear to be randomized, it's a bit frustrating that the game ends after only three levels, right when I'm starting to get into the groove of things.
Maybe I am just a bit dumb, but I couldn't even compplete the first level lol. I like the art style and the humor is good. I wish the gameplay started a bit sooner. When I pressed X to skip nothing happened.
@ryusui Thanks for the feedback! You're clever lol we're actually developing it and adding sand mode! We initially designed 3 levels cuz we thought we could make it to the jam but we didn't :P. More levels will appear in the future :)
@glennverheij Thanks for the comment bro lol [X] is for skipping while the character's speaking. I guess you need to press [Z] to confirm once they finish their talk.
This is an interesting play, and it gets really close to being a super interesting and engaging game, but there are definitely some things stopping it from being super fun. Two main things that I would ask would be to be able to deselect quantum spaces that have been opened, so that I can more methodically go through the map, and for the death reset to be much quicker and smoother, because in my experience this is a game where you will fail a lot, and having to wait through the text and explotion to be able to try again. That said I would still LOVE to play a version of this game that has had more time in the oven
@antoniothereis Thank you for the feedback! We have improved the death reset added deselecting feature.
@ryusui It's not exactly like regular minesweeper persay. (Hi I'm the composer/audio person for the game). Tbf I don't totally understand the rules of the game 100% but basically there are a couple main changes 1. The placement of the bombs is not predetermined; they change as the game progresses. 2. It will both always be safe and ONLY be safe to guess when all tiles cannot be guarenteed to be safe (said another way, if you know there is a bomb on a certain tile, yet you still guess on a seperate tile, then you will hit a bomb, guarenteed). 3. Ties into the first one, but since old tiles can become reconcealed by revealing new ones, it can ruin the progress you've made in old areas of the map you've scouted around obsolete, so you have to be careful about revealing more tiles without ensuring your progress in previous areas.
Sorry, that was so confusing (like I said I totally don't understand the rules 100% myself), but I'm very glad you liked our game, even a bit ^^
That was a very fresh twist to the old classic and a very solid entry overall! I enjoyed the chill yet mysterious mood and the little world building you managed to squeeze in. That said: - The start of the game was kinda text heavy and it was hard to understand the mechanics like that. If the tutorial was entangled with the actual gameplay somehow, maybe it would be easier to understand and internalize. - I believe I got into a stalemate situation a couple of times: there was no way to know that any single tile is 100% mine or 100% free, and I just had to pick a random tile. Now, if I understood correctly, that's when you always blow up due to the quantum nature of the mines. In these situations I just had to take the loss, restart and hope for better luck in picking my starting tiles. - A super minor notion on usability: since the gameplay works with only the mouse, I don't see a reason to use Z for advancing the dialogue. You might as well do that with a mouse click or a button in the UI. My cat jumped on my lap when I started playing and she _hated_ that I had to use two hands to play the game.
I wanna emphasize that these are very minor gripes and I thoroughly enjoyed the entry.
I love the interpretation of quantum in the classic Minesweeper framework! Art is soooooo CUUUTE! Live long and pawspurr!
@juutis Thank you for the feedback! Actually, there won't be a stalemate situation. If, there's no 100% mine or 100% safe, that means the hidden spaces are all undetermined. In that case, they're all safe! Cuz hidden spaces will be 100% safe when there are no safe spaces. So, when you're forced to guess you'll always be safe. If you're not forced to guess, and you guess, you'll always die. Sorry if that's confusing! I hope this explanation could help :) Left click can also skip/confirm conversations now! So you can play it while petting your cat :3
Wow, that's some awesome mechanics! That's a cool idea. The music is very nice and relaxing. And the artwork is awesome.
@vicoxue @zee-yuen Aha! I didn't really notice the "uncertainty" mechanic in play; it seemed like the tiles I revealed remained consistent even if they became re-covered and uncovered again later. Maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention. XD
good graphics keep it up
@nanamaki thank you! I think our programmer did it very well! Also, me and vico both loved your game and art!
Very nice
the cats 1-53 better be sleeping or i'm going to cry
@3mpty aww maybe some of them are sleeping! And Sir is still awake ;)
I think it can be released as the full version. As a Minesweeper game enthusiast, I truly find it very enjoyable to play.
Brain buster this one, took me a sec to understand the quantum aspect, but it was a really nice touch. Well done on this entry!
