The graphics of this game are really good, also the game is enjoyable, good job!

kluvenlaroplan 2024-10-07 22:28

I really really enjoy the graphics you have got going here, and the concept for the game! I am eager to see the future, It has huge potential!

skyloh 2024-10-08 01:28

The graphics remind me of Bug Fables, what with the style and 2D sprites in a 3D world and all that (oh, and the bugs, too). I loved the different take on the traditional Slay the Spire card combat formula! Having a constant hand with a larger energy pool certainly allowed for more action economy, which was fun. Keep up the good work!

ordineu 2024-10-08 02:50

Awesome work! An impressive amount of work for a weekend of work! The sprites are quite cute and I liked how the combat flowed. It would be nice if you couldn't just spam your best move over and over, but overall there was a lot of variety and choice available.

little-crow-heart 2024-10-08 11:53

The art looks really good and I enjoyed using cards in a round-based combat (this was new for me). I like that there are different fighters with different stats and cards that have varity!

gord10ahmet 2024-10-08 14:00

I liked the art here.

An issue about this game is its UI/UX. The biggest issue is card texts are hard to read, because they are too small and the cards are moving. An indicator that shows player can click on circles when game asks player to choose a position would help, too.

Keep up the good work!

igorekkedziorek 2024-10-08 18:33

Nice graphics. However I'm not sure if every ability works correctly

lofipop 2024-10-08 18:36

I liked the art mixing 2D and 3D, music loops quite fast but sets a nice mood ; I agree UI could be improved (at first I didn't know which team was mine), but still the concept is quick to grasp. Well done especially for such a short time !

stames 2024-10-08 19:07

@igorekkedziorek Yeah the ranged attack is just a worse version of the melee attack  We want to implement it so that the ranged attack can just hit every creature and the melee attack just the one standing in front of you for example

stames 2024-10-08 19:10

@gord10ahmet Thanks for the input. Yeah we somehow need to fix the problem that there is not enough screen space  maybe we could make an additional UI visible when you hover over a card to show the effect text  And the highlighting of everything that is supposed to be clicked next is a great idea

stames 2024-10-08 19:13

@ordineu :joy: yes we also found out that you can just use one move In the final game the cards will be discarded after use so this wound be possible anymore. Also I hope the cards will be balanced better then

natahan 2024-10-08 19:17

Cards games are sometimes quite hard to handle but yours it more easy and it's pleasant

I like the 2D graphics but with the deep of the 3D. Nice game

game-dynasty 2024-10-08 19:32

Haha, cool style! I love this

jdeedubs 2024-10-08 19:32

The holofoil effect on cards is very cool. I liked the game. The sprites were nice, and the sounds and music were good. I was a little confused as to what to do with some of the cards, as it looked like positioning didn't really matter, and none of my bugs had any DEX. I would have loved to see enemy intents, as blocking seemed like a gamble. Some cool ideas here. Nice submission!

michaelshollaj 2024-10-08 19:39

I want to say also that you are all great people with a bright future, keep it up!!

stames 2024-10-08 19:53

@jdeedubs Yes the positioning has no effect right now. We want to add, that some attacks can only be performed when you creature stands on a specific position for example

svenerik 2024-10-08 19:55

Wonderful work overall and I specially dig the aesthetics of it, the graphics, effects etc. The gameplay was also really solid and good. Jolly game!

gamergoblin 2024-10-08 20:00

The presentation is on point, love the little bug designs!

A little bit of extra polish on the UI would have gone a long way. Some small things like clear indicators of what spot you're selecting and maybe more subtle animations on the cards.

Wasn't able to figure out what the point of positioning was either.

Overall impressive for jam!

neoawesomeon 2024-10-08 21:05

Very well made if a bit simple. I was expecting there to be card mechanics, that's on me though for not realizing they were just cool buttons. The gameplay is a little simple as you can easily just spam the ant's attack to win, but I liked it and the game has a lot of charm. Y'all did very good!

life-lich 2024-10-08 21:09

It seems like the ant with Tugging Bite is by far the best action. I couldn’t find any indication of who the enemy would attack, and I think including that would be really helpful. It could add more strategy by encouraging players to use block moves more purposefully. Also the art style is great. Overall, it’s a fun and impressive entry great work :-)

cosmogonicfrog 2024-10-08 21:12

Art is great and the sound gives it a good vibe. As others have said, it was quite easy once you figure out the optimal move. I also had a hard time figuring out where to click to select the creature.

Otherwise, the potential is there and the concept is very cool. Nice job!

tavox 2024-10-08 21:19

@neoawesomeon Thank you for playing and your feedback. For this Game Jam they are not more than buttons, thats right, but we have a lot of cool ideas and machanics, we want to implement in the future. Our goal is to keep working on the Project after the Jam to make a decent Rouge Lite Deckbuilder.

tavox 2024-10-08 21:24

@life-lich You are totaly right. The game is in a very raw and simple state in terms of gameplay. Thank you for your feedback. We plan to keep working on the Game after the Jam and we have so many Ideas to to improve it to a full Rouge Lite Deckbuilder.

tavox 2024-10-08 21:29

@cosmogonicfrog Thanks for the Feedback. We really appreciate it. We want to keep working on the Project after the Jam, so every Comment helps us to improve it. Theres a lot to fix, but we plan as well to implement so mutch more content in the future after the Jam to get a real Rouge Lite Deckbuilder out of it.

life-lich 2024-10-08 22:00

@tavox That’s super cool! I highly recommend creating a Game Design Document as early as possible it’s a great tool to guide your development. Wishing you the best of luck!

tavox 2024-10-09 00:01

@life-lich Thank you for your input and that's a good call. We plan to make a detailed one in the next meetings, before we continue our work.

jared-saizdelamora 2024-10-09 00:28

This was a really awesome game. The art was really eyecatching. Great job!

memz 2024-10-09 00:29

Interesting game. Visually pleasing with a decent audio track. Good job!

cliva 2024-10-09 00:38

The first card game in this jam that I played. The cards look interesting, and the shimmering effects on them are really cool.

The music is good, but it feels somewhat out of place for this game. There is a certain "cathedral-like" and "epic" quality to it. The visuals of the game are pleasant, and if a bit of work is done on the UI and responsiveness (for example, a slight screen shake when taking a lot of damage), the game could become even better:)

kotori-itssuke 2024-10-09 02:50

Nice one, I love card based games

musiiirrornka 2024-10-09 05:09

funny toy very cool I like it what a great guy

zomk 2024-10-09 07:20

Nice game. Loved those graphics ^^

juutis 2024-10-09 07:40

This is a great base for a card game. The card visuals are great. I like the shiny effect very much.

Unfortunately there's only a single card that's worth using at the moment, but as you've already mentioned, that should easily be fixed by randomizing the hand, discarding used cards and making unit positioning meaningful.

Anyway, keep it up and this is gonna be something great!

jscommander 2024-10-09 10:58

The bug battle game is really fun! The art looks great, especially the ant and butterfly characters. I enjoyed using the ant to attack and the butterfly to heal. The music sets a nice mood for the game. It was cool to finish the battle quickly and feel satisfied. One small thing - I wasn't sure how to remove a card after clicking on it. Overall, I had a good time playing!

guiik 2024-10-09 11:08

Love the style ! I think making the insects "glow" when you need to pick who will attack and who you attacks would have helped. I hope for the next version the best strategy won't be to always make your ant attack :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

corrochano 2024-10-09 11:26

Very impressive to see a game like this in the jam! I love turn-based games, so I can’t say enough good things! Also, the art is really cool!

tavox 2024-10-09 12:40

@cliva Thank you for the Feedback and your ideas to improve the game. We will consider that.

tavox 2024-10-09 12:43

@jscommander Thank you for your feedback. We will improve things like that after the jam as we keep working on the project.

tavox 2024-10-09 12:49

@guiik Thank you for the feedback. Our game is very simple in the state right now. But we want to improve it after the Jam. For Example Positioning should Matter for the attacks, so the ranged attack gets its use cases. And of Cause the enemy AI is just random moves at the moment. There's a lot we want to improve and we plan to make a real Rouge Lite Deckbuilder out of it.

iwant-pizza 2024-10-09 21:23

Wow, it's like game in Adventure Time

manabreak 2024-10-10 06:31

Solid work :) I couldn't really keep up on who got damaged on enemy's turn, and at times there were texts like "x defeted" but didn't see anything happen on the battlefield.

steve-g 2024-10-10 21:51

Cool game. I liked the slay the spire or MTG vibes. Combat felt a little unbalanced at times, but otherwise, impressive!

hilary-fischer 2024-10-10 23:38

Fun concept & great mood! I can definitely see how this could be fun to expand upon. I think that maybe a little refining with what creatures you have paired with what cards you have available could be a nice touch and also wasn't sure why I needed the jump option. For an expanded version, it could also be nice to have your energy transfer over at the end of a turn (like possibly with larger cost cards that you can save up for?). Great job on this game & it will be fun to see where you take it!

logovostudio 2024-10-13 03:41

Cool art style, love it. Gameplay is very enjoyable as well. Good work

dimoseek 2024-10-13 19:11

I love type of thet !

sasa-2010 2024-10-19 10:19

Wow! The game is so wonderful! Keep making games!
