TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-13T13:01:55Z
Looked a couple times on the stream, decided to play only now, the mood of the game for some reason reminiscent of Slay the Spire. But your game forgives mistakes %)

A very cool and even charming platformer with a musical component.
The metroidvania mechanics are conveyed well, and the boss battle added more challenge!
The style and palette are very pleasant, only good impressions from the game :)
Whaaat?! Ants with guns and knives are having a battle to the death? Give me more!
Very fun concept, a bit heavy on the controls and not always clear what you're losing to, but overall a solid project
i am ~~dwarf~~ mice and i digging a hole
Very good emotions from the game, reminded me of the times of Warcraft III and similar strategies.
A humorous game, the animations are cool!
A bit of slippery controls, but understanding the mechanics, you can overlook it.
If you simplify it a lot - the second mouse is only needed for the bridge, the fact that the game needs to be explored on your own is very good, but it would be worth hinting that there is an additional action on the S key.
The 25th wave turned out to be the last one for me %)
Very good realization of tower defense. The only thing is that it lacked a quick restart and "continuous construction" for sandbags
Wow, it seems like I’m seeing such a game concept for the first time, the controls are quite convenient. The graphics are simple, but probably they fit this project perfectly. The death screen is just magnificent %)
The first card game in this jam that I played. The cards look interesting, and the shimmering effects on them are really cool.
The music is good, but it feels somewhat out of place for this game. There is a certain "cathedral-like" and "epic" quality to it. The visuals of the game are pleasant, and if a bit of work is done on the UI and responsiveness (for example, a slight screen shake when taking a lot of damage), the game could become even better:)
Amazing result for one man! Hats off to you!
The graphics are awesome for its style. The game clearly has potential
However, there are some notes: the staff seemed a bit useless to me, perhaps because of the lack of its pumping. Background music would be very helpful
изображение_2024-10-22_231406552.png
Simple, but complete game, the graphics look good for its style, the sounds are nice. However, the music was extremely lacking, some “forest guitar theme”
Controls are nice
Pretty good, the coughing music reminded me of plague inc. game
изображение_2024-10-13_152229482.png
The game is cool, but at the beginning, you have to dig around for a long time (unless you cheat by just stacking items at your feet). Then the game starts to pick up speed and ends quite quickly; when I collected all the cartridges upon entering the CATBOX, the game ended with a WebGL context error.
If you don't count the first 3 minutes of gameplay, the game plays lively, but it feels like there's no challenge; it quickly reaches a "god mode" moment.
But it is indeed an interesting project!
The first game in which the tutorial is conveyed so wonderfully! My respect!
Ooooh yeah
изображение_2024-10-09_165615256.png
Very cool concept, one of the best games of the jam! Of course, the optimization is a bit lacking, but you can overlook that in a jam.
The music is just bombastic, I love music in this style.
The mechanics are very cool, the Turing machine is very well implemented. Naturally, not everything was clear on the first attempt, especially what X*Y spawn means, but by the third attempt, I was able to complete the game; towards the end, I even had to click with the mouse, as there seems to be a limit on spawning new objects in the game :)
изображение_2024-10-09_141741869.png The pause during mana acquisition seems a bit unnecessary to me. The lemon in the T-pose is too cool! It seems this music will stay in my head forever, it sounds wonderful.
The idea is quite humorous, most of the graphics look very good, there is a sense of style, however, often it's unclear what to do, the game seems to lack a goal (which is obviously not the case), and the very original level design - it's not always clear where I can jump and where I can't.
The game strongly reminded me of "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" the same vibes. By the end, it becomes a bit boring. I wished that the suspects would give some clues about themselves on the TV. Or that you could ask them questions and receive truthful or not-so-truthful answers. Maybe a polygraph?
But this is a good project for jam!
good simple graphics, the game is understandable, the soundtrack would make it to my playlist ;)
Great job! I liked everything, the graphics are nice, the music is excellent, and the gameplay is simple and balanced. I wanted to achieve the results shown in the screenshots above, but one of the monsters encountered a bug and became invincible, which destroyed my village. %)
It looks very interesting, but unfortunately, the game has poor feedback, meaning I very weakly understand when I am taking beneficial actions and when harmful ones.
Nanites spawn, numbers grow, firewalls block paths, but I still don't understand what's happening. %)
A stylish and cute mini game has been released. If we disregard a few minor flaws, it's my favorite in this jam in terms of atmosphere. %)
The dudes are funny! But the vacuum cleaners took almost all of them. %(
I hope I understood the idea correctly that we need to boil as many orange guys as possible in the soup %)
The idea and graphics is funny, and the voice acting of the guys is also good.
The game is really interesting in the first few attempts.
The "single-screen game" approach works very well for this project, but in my opinion, it lacks a few control elements. It would be nice to have a restart button to be able to end a losing round faster.
The graphics are simple, but the color scheme is quite harmonious. The music is good, but there is a strong sense of repetition, the sound effects are humorous :)
The balance is certainly set up weakly. I was able to win using only scouts. But otherwise quite a fun game %)
@allenw Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, management can indeed seem complicated. I wanted to convey the complexity of operating tracked vehicles, perhaps I overdid it a bit %)
I had to skip many moments since Blender 3D often behaves unpredictably, especially if you’re not a pro at it. For example, I couldn't insert the render of the tiny drones into the game in time.
By the way, here it is: ezgif-4-c8b84d4609.gif
@bloodfin Thank you for the feedback
Yes, the game has a lot of shortcomings and bugs. More bugs have been added in the last hours than useful code %)
The 3D artist participated in the jam for the first time, it was a heavy workload for him, but in my opinion, he managed to convey the vibe of industrial techno punk.
@rucksack oh, some of the debug functions have spread throughout the project and this is one of them %)
There's also text following the mouse, and that's not right either. I don't know if it's possible to fix such things after the jam is over, or if we should leave it as it is. We were thinking of polishing the game a bit, adding to the story, and releasing it as a post-jam or something like that.
I wanted to share an image in a higher resolution than what can be seen in the game изображение_2024-10-08_212015702.png
yes, this turret didn't make it into the game
@lgk-productions Thank you for the feedback!
There were quite a few small errors in the game, and the frozen lasers are one of them. The tank's collision property that indicates whether it is "attacked" or "gathered" does not change :)
The right-click is also a small error. It was a debug function to sequentially check explosions of different strengths. Many debug functions got scattered throughout the project, and I simply didn't have time to turn them all off in time. But I'm glad that some of them turned out to be fun %)
Also, thank you for reading the lore! The first day was entirely spent on developing the concept, writing the lore, and simulating old character-based output systems on the screen.
Not much was implemented from the original concept. It was intended for the player to be repaired by small drones, unlocking new technologies (different weapons would be available as upgrades), three locations were planned, and various types of enemies (it seems there were about five conceived at first, one of which would be a boss). A plot twist was also thought out, but some factors influenced the fact that a lot was not added to the game. One of those factors was a insufficient experience in rendering game objects in isometric with Blender 3D.
@trusty Thank you! The game was made on the "Construct 3" engine because I do not have a similar level of proficiency with other engines to create something quickly.
I'm not sure the source code will be very interesting to those who are not familiar with this engine. The source code will look like in the screenshot (the function for creating a rocket and its behavior). изображение_2024-10-09_193142039.png The engine does not have classes per se. There are "families" that work in a similar way, but it's still a slightly different principle. However, if you're really interested, I can upload the code to GitHub.
@icxon Thank you very much for the video! It's always interesting to see how others play your game. There are many errors in the jam version of the game, I agree, we underestimated the strength a bit %)
We fixed some bugs and uploaded the missing textures (except for the tiny bots for now) in the post-jam version, if you're interested: https://clivawolf.itch.io/proto-deus-postjam
One of the best games of this jam for me! I generally love RTS genre games, I also love ants, and in this game everything came together :)
I want to highlight the music separately and how it blends with the gameplay. It perfectly conveys the current mood of the game!
I completed the game entirely. It's very short and doesn't allow for boredom. In theory, this concept could be developed into a full-fledged game, where there would be scout ants, warriors, workers, and maybe something else.
Overall, my impressions of the game are only positive, thank you :)
The hero's control is well-tuned, you can feel the inspiration from "Cuphead," the boss battles are interesting but seem a bit prolonged(?)
It would also be nice to see a regular level with enemies and traps instead of just a boss level.
The artistic style and musical accompaniment are top-notch!
It seems this is the end :) изображение_2024-10-09_030127473.png
Good game, nice design, responsive controls, clear leveling system. The only minor flaws were the lack of background music and sounds. I would also slightly extend the difficulty curve.
The story is designed very cool, but unfortunately, the controls are frustrating. Every time you appear, you get stuck on the stairs until you melt, and then you can't accomplish anything.
Maybe I misunderstood the mechanics of the game and did something wrong..
A fun and very simple game, reminded me of the microgames from the WarioWare collections. %)
