Gameplay was kinda hard to understand but loved the art
I'm thrilled with the visuals and how you played with the theme! Great job!
LOVEIT
The link says "HTML5 (web)" but I couldn’t find a playable web version. Is there one somewhere?
This is great! I loved the art and the use of the theme is so good! Felt really good producing or creating bacteria
Cool use of theme and cool art
I love the visuals and audio, but I find it pretty difficult to understand what's happening. I think the game definitely needs to view the map in it's entirety.
Great graphics and audio! Right now, the game is very simple, but it has a lot of potential if you decide to develop it further.
Wow, a very well done project!
@fractal my apologies, i believe it was a mistake for labeling it as "HTML5". Our intention was simply to share our itch.io link and had never built the game in html5. I've noticed that we already put the link in the description, so I'll be removing the one you saw
Managed to win, yay! The sounds and graphics were impressive. Loved the microscope effect. However, to be honest the UI was terrible. If the bacteria would not have been doing their thing automatically, the game would have been unplayable. I felt like the only way to play the game was to stay right next to your base and just spam the collectors as much as possible and then spam the attackers. And if your spawn was so unfortunate, that there was a "poison zone" between your base and the resource patch, you were basically fucked as it was very difficult to baby sit the collectors. Some sort of minimap or ability to zoom out would have made this game so much better. But making a RTS game with nice graphics and sounds is an impressive feat! The hardest part for RTS jam games is always the UI and that is probably why you see so rarely RTS games. It takes way too much effort to achieve Age of Empires 2 level of smoothness and responsiviness.
@martta lol that's actually quite true  , I do agree with you on the idea of having a minimap. It is kind of easy to get lost sometimes and not know where your units are.
I love how music synchronized with eye movement. Cool. Also, these little things are inside me right now. ~_~
@asfdfdfd I wish you good health, remember to take antibiotics regularly as prescribed!
Astounding art and theme! The gameplay was quick, satisfying, and unique - I loved the 'microscope pov' acting as a 'fog of war'. CAn't gush enough about this art - the gorgeously rendered cards, the snappy and evocative animation on the bases - even the main menu! That title font? *chefs kiss!* The swarm mechanic was super cool - and so gratifying to watch them race off together to efficiently surround a food source, or overwhelm the enemy. Really felt like you were watching what we all 'want' microscope slides to contain! Really excellent work everyone, you should be proud! Finally got to live my dream of collecting amino acids with my lil flagellates defending the ECM!
I absolutely love this game! The sounds, the visuals, the gameplay. Everything came together. Really a super game.
I very much like how you interpreted the theme! Everything is just perfekt!
Really enjoyed it. It's so well polished for three days.
What a nice game! I'm in love with graphics, they are really charming, overall controls vere good, maybe a bit more looking space? also could be good to select units while pauces, i just couldnt quite catch them at all in the game regularly
I didnt win once but thats probably skill issue, overall a really nice game! good work!
Nice graphics and music. Interesting idea. True, while I was figuring out the controls, the bacteria was killed and the game froze. There are a few comments about the user experience: - a slightly strange arrangement of buttons in the main menu (why is the "exit" button at the beginning?) - unfortunately, the cards with bacteria cover the screen, and I did not immediately notice that I had enemy bacteria spawned - also, the bacteria are hiding behind a large bacteria, which is a bit confusing
It would also be nice to add sound settings (in my opinion, the attack sounds are too loud).
Thanks for the gaming experience! I would really like to see a post-Jam version. Good luck!
Love the 'bubbly' music haha :D Great theme!
Awesome game! I enjoyed playing this little microbe RTS. I hope to see in the future a way to see how many certain microbes I have alive and a faster way to see where they are on the map. Also if resources could spawn randomly on the map after they have been depleted. Overall wonderful game!
Addictive game! I missed the mini-map and the ways of mining the yellow resource, and also the game started to slow down terribly after 15 minutes on my PC. Otherwise: great music and art, good balance =)
@knatt Maybe you didn't notice, but resources should be respawning randomly on the map after they have been depleted already, or else you will see bacteria γ (collector) bugged since they do not have a target destination to go to if there's no resource on the map.
really nice and interesting game, good job and keep going!
The balance is certainly set up weakly. I was able to win using only scouts. But otherwise quite a fun game %)
Good lord! This art style is amazing.
Came for the art... stayed for the art :)
Love the music and the front-end menu art. Despite reading the tutorial screen, though, I found it hard to do anything meaningful during gameplay except produce new bacteria. I would have liked to be able to zoom out further and figure out what was happening. I never instructed any of my bacteria to do anything but won anyway. I like that you have SFX to highlight certain actions and interactions, which is a nice level of detail for a jam game. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing graphics and game feel! :sparkles:
A nicely polished game, you can see the amount of time and work put into this game. good work GG WP ~Socio
The bacteria designs are so cool, nice one!
Really liked the art it was very nicely done, loved the pastel colors and the texturing. the music was great as well!
I enjoyed the gameplay, I found the difficulty to be pretty easy, but it was still it felt polished and pretty straight forward
nice entry!
It's a solid game but some things could really help the game. A cap on the number of bacteria active at once, an indicator of how many of each bacteria you currently have, the ability to zoom/ a minimap and the ability to make your collecting bacteria prioritize a specific resource.
Wow! The game is so wonderful! I can play this 10 hours straihgt! Keep making games!
