LD33 — You are the Monster

Separated by rxi 2015-08-24T02:41:00

I really like the momentum behind the character when moving, and the music and lighting work well to create a stellar mood.

Not much to do however, just explore the map. The sound the monster makes is a bit grating after a wile, so I stopped interacting with things

Tactical Superiority by HuvaaKoodia 2015-08-25T20:48:00

Well executed! I like how the mec controls, slow and tank-like, but easy to aim.

I don't really see how a mec is a monster though

Devil Love Cows by Praron 2015-08-25T21:05:00

Cool Idea! I don't seem to be able to keep a rythem, it is tough, but I don't think that's a bad thing

I think the controls overall sour my experience. I would have loved to see it control more like a twin stick shooter, with e being used for interacting.

MonsterCorp by EwChap 2015-08-24T02:21:00

I like the headlines, and the idea of taking down a company by making poor decisions is funny

Moving around to find them though was a little tedious. The same concept could be accomplished with still images or menues

The Empty by fdslk 2015-08-25T21:24:00

what I liked:
-Style in consistent and clean
-Motion blur looks good (except on the knife)

What I didn't like:
-The music gets repetitive and grating, I feel ambient noise probably would have been a better choice.

LD39 — Running out of Power

The 100% Official Liz McColgan's Running Power by OddballDave 2017-08-16T14:03:45Z

To echo some other comments, I like how the player is the one to lose the power. This game also does a good job at emulating the pace of a marathon. As long as your steady (and use both hands to avoid carpel tunnel) you'll be fine.

But to be honest, I have no desire to do any other track after the 800m.

Goyom by stefvanschie 2017-08-04T20:16:37Z

Looks like you and I had the same idea for a puzzle game.

Good job on the daily level downloading. I would have never expected that from a game jam!

Scarcity of Superpowers by Pavel Kouril 2017-08-13T13:54:19Z

The 3d Graphics look really good for a gamejam! Most of the powers are great (with the exception of w), and there was a clear tutorial. good job!

I found that the majority of my time was spent herding the baddies until I had an ability to use on them. For me, this ends up being a tad boring. If you wanted to combat this than you could have one of the powers recharge on kills. Like if every 4 kills you get a free q, which would give a little more meaning to herding.

The UI could also stand to be a little more visable. I notice the sides of the screen are dark and empty, you could align the UI vertically on the sides for more contrast.

Overall good game!

BUG SQUASHER 9000 by alwaysinbeta 2017-08-13T14:11:10Z

Fun to play, graphics are adorable, and easy to pick up. Great submission!

The movement is a little sluggish. In order to shoot at the bugs I would usually come to a full stop, and I completely stopped trying to time out the electric barriers because my shields become fully charged in the next level. One thing that I think would combat both of these problems would be a dash, like something that uses up a chunk of movement energy but it pushes your character forward quickly. Maybe it can squash bugs while dashing at the cost of some shield too!

Overall good game!

Despot 3900 by alxm 2017-08-04T19:04:34Z

This one's going in the "KeepThese" folder, well done! It's a unique spin on losing power, the graphics and color scheme are stylish, and it's fun.

One thing to point out tho is if war is always a coin toss, the first turn should always be war. If I lose, then whatever, I'll just quickly reset the game. If I win then I start the game with free money. If you didn't want that then you could have war be something the player has to buy into. Like they need to pay in 4000 to start the war and it has a 1.5x payout if won.

Power Rush by Mik3 2017-08-04T17:46:54Z

Overall good! I like the idea of this game, and the graphics are great for a gamejam.

The choice to make movement slippery is a little frustrating for me.

Sabotage by image_31 2017-08-13T17:23:01Z

I would love to see this expanded on. As is, the game is a little bare bones. Looks and sounds great tho!

Good submission!

Dam We're Stuck Out Here! by December Dogs 2017-08-04T18:25:22Z

Good idea, could use a little more clarity (I see you already addressed this)

Cardiac Assault by Charlie_Bror 2017-08-04T18:15:37Z

I think I get it?

The biggest problem for me is the lack of clarity when it comes to what is "too much" or "too little." Maby a voltage meter or a progress bar of sorts will help out.

But I see what you're doing and I like it, congratz on releasing!

Politics - Rome by Julisep 2017-08-04T20:33:44Z

I don't really have much more to add than whats already been said. There's a bit of a learning curve and the UI takes some getting used to. But it's a rad idea to gamify roman politics in my book, so you get points for that

Exocharge Infinite by Karnage Studios 2017-08-16T14:19:40Z

Great game

The music, sounds, and graphics all work together and are satisfying.

To echo some of the other comments, the game is a little unforgiving. Falling is especially annoying. I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't take forever to fall. You could circumnavigate this by making the sides of the stage those yellow walls.

RulesQuest by Adrien Dittrick 2017-08-04T18:06:11Z

I posted this on the update page and not the actual game page so I'm sorry if you're reading this twice :cold_sweat:

I like the gathering of powerups and how the combat is done. I can see this sort of game being expanded upon in so many different ways.

That being said, this game can get a little repetitive. The upgrades that you pick up are very small and can get outclassed by enemies quickly

LD44 — Your life is currency

shoot out your life by puppetmaster 2019-05-02T21:44:04Z

so fun! one of the best submissions I've seen this LD. wonderful submission!

One thing that got me was when the hearts where falling on the sides, I thought that I had to catch them, since my heart could be in that lane. but if no enemies that spawn in those lanes, then does the player need the option to go in there? Their might have been bonus points for catching a heart on the way down, but that wasn't clear to me.

The Nameless Cave by Knatt 2019-05-01T15:32:18Z

@caorjavier I'm sorry to hear that, I haven't gotten this problem yet with other people. I'm on another computer at the moment and cant re-upload anything, I'll try when I get home. Was there no download option for the .exe?

The Nameless Cave by Knatt 2019-05-01T15:45:12Z

@caorjavier I got a warning pop up on this computer too. I'll work to resolve then when I get home, don't want people to think I'm uploading viruses xD. ty

With All My Heart by Elemental Zeal Game Studios 2019-05-17T17:41:57Z

This one hooked me in for a good 20 min, nice job!

there is a good ramp up in difficulty for the first 10 levels, but after that it gets kinda easy.

BloedBad by Sol Roo 2019-05-03T19:03:20Z

Well done with the overall aesthetic. the sprite work is great and the controls where tight. Idk if you wanted this, but I was able to hit the switch at the end of the hallway and get to the next stage with the sword. It took a couple trys tho.

Consume by ghost-in-the-toast 2019-10-27T16:13:46Z

Great puzzle game! This would make an awesome mobile game, you should consider developing it further :)

It was mentioned earlier, but Its worth pointing our again, I wish I could use arrow keys or WASD to move

The Alchemist by sbeif 2019-05-01T14:37:00Z

I like the sprites, and the dashing mechanic is implemented very well.

Switching the movement with T is jarring, especially when you have to do it on the fly at the beginning of the game. Maybe there should be a toggle on the screen beforehand, or have both movement types active at once?

Also, a little sound goes a long way, even if its just a repeating scale in chip. https://www.beepbox.co is a great for this, I used it in my submission.

Fokusiro by oakus 2019-05-03T18:03:27Z

Nice meditative game, super calming.

animations worked out nicely. There where a few times where I had distractions come down all 3 lanes at once. There was no way to get them all and it felt like a cheap shot

Space Gunner by GerardB 2019-05-03T14:09:50Z

Fun game! Easy to pick up an control, got me playing a bunch of times.

to echo @mashupgames point, the majority of times I was hurt was when I was traveling in a direction and an enemy spawned from that directon (especialy going south).

ChemisTree by tthe 2019-05-01T16:04:51Z

I like the concept and the music is perfect for this kind of game. overall good submission!

Having a cheat-sheet like @xankill3r mentioned would be super helpful, I had to screen grab part of the tutorial.

I also wasn't sure how my molecule was interacting with the other one. I had a feeling that they they're supposed to overlap each other, and the chains where supposed to kill the molecule based on the colors at either end? But I can't say for certain. It would help my pea brain if I had a picture of them interacting so I can get a better idea of what it wants.

some minor points: - If you click on a color without dragging it onto the stage it will stay on top of the color picker. attempting to drag it off would make another molecule, and one was constantly stuck on the picker. - While the game is good, I'm not sure if it goes along with the theme

Blood Priest by Beelzeboss 2019-05-03T18:10:05Z

This is a good starting point, but there just needs to be more time put into it.

Servant to the Reaper by MediocreMonty 2019-05-17T17:08:26Z

Fun game! Little tedious to kill individuals tho.

TheDescent by geist_191 2019-05-03T18:46:22Z

Nice submission. I liked the sprites and the UI inventory off to the side

I had a bug every now and then with the camera. It would happen sometimes when scrolling to a new room. I'd be pressing in the direction I wanted to move and it shifted the camera. Had a hard time replicating it tho

Aniu on the mountain by belug23 2019-05-01T15:16:56Z

Nice take on the concept! It was a fun marble game, and that penguin launcher really got me.

The one lesson I would take away from this is celerity. its not really clear how I'm gaining snow, and its not clear what upgrades do. maybe if there was a text that explained a power up when you hover over it, or some sort of codex entry, I would feel a lot more informed.

Current_CE by zoneoutapps 2019-05-03T17:48:26Z

good sumbition. I liked the music (when it was playing) and the playercharacter is cute

I'm getting some of the same buggs that other people got: music stopping and getting caught on the cart.

Everydayhero by VagantB 2019-05-01T14:19:58Z

The Sprites are cute, and it follows the theme to a T.

I this game could use more. If I could choose something like agility that gives me a chance to dodge things, or if I could find an item to activate for a quick boost, I'd probably be more inclined to play it more

utsvulten by ditto 2019-05-01T15:01:28Z

you get points for mood and humor! I had fun playing with the physics, in a silly sandbox-ie sort of way

The lack of a goal is keeping me from giving it a higher score.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Dumpy's Endless Quest for Crap by Budaniel 2019-10-27T15:53:50Z

Nice Music and cute graphics.

Keyboard controls are kinda wonky. The character would zip to the right and the jump wasn't very responsive. I ended up running straight into a lot of pits

Fruit Mamba by FrozenCow 2019-10-27T19:33:50Z

Good submission! It was easy to pick up and the graphics were cute! Id like to see more

Zilch by commanderstitch 2019-10-28T13:48:06Z

good game! I like the sprite work, especially with the fox.

At first it was visually confusing, but after a while I was able to pick up what was going on.

Starting From Nothing by sorlok 2019-10-27T17:43:59Z

The music and sounds were good, had a really calming atmosphere. But I don't see how this matched "Start with Nothing"

Diebarians by Knatt 2019-10-28T13:52:23Z

@lilkrit Just a quick note, my wife made the graphics for the game, I'll update that in the description. She doesn't have an account with LD so shes not listed as an author

Thank you for playing! :)

Build Or Die by pkenney 2019-10-27T15:01:06Z

The moment is frustrating at first, but satisfying once you learn it and start using shortcuts. flinging the crystal into the pool, or using momentum to grab one crystal and bump into another felt really nice.

I wish there was some sort audio feedback or a mini map to show that the bots we're doing their job. The entirety of the game was sending the bots off hoping they were going to do their job, while I stayed back and mined crystals.

Great game overall!

The Kidnapping by aemiliu5 2019-10-27T20:50:48Z

The mood and the sounds were really tense and added a lot to the mood, but I had the same problem as most, couldnt find a place to hide.

Jam Cultist Simulator by FiloGC 2019-10-27T19:05:09Z

Fun one! very frantic Much like game jams, you get better and better with each round you do.

The Chronicles of Stênio by UnidayStudio 2019-10-27T19:58:55Z

Nice Submission. I liked the graphics, very good for a gamejam

the hit detection on the sword swipes weren't the most accurate. I missed a whole lot, despite it looking like a hit. I also wasn't sure how to avoid the monsters attacks, it felt like I couldn't in most cases

No-Thing Island by SleepyStudios 2019-10-27T17:27:49Z

Nice polished puzzle game, good work! The music and sound was good, really build up the mood

I feel like I cheated tho. After I moved the initial rock, I got stuck. So I shuffled the obelisk, just sort of on a whim, and it solved itself.

Untitled Robot Game by Roitchie 2019-10-27T18:12:45Z

Nice entry! there was a good variety of mechanics, and I wish I could have seen them explored more

Small Mouse, BIG SHOES! by UnitedFailures 2019-10-27T21:52:49Z

Truely the pinnacle of game design

Crystallian by Untitled Studios 2019-10-27T18:24:48Z

The game was fun, I liked being able to make my own ship, despite it looking like a blob xD

The collisions are odd. I found myself clinking to the side of the ship and not being able to gain altitude when I was near an edge

Color and Creativity by Collin Thompson 2019-10-27T19:25:37Z

This is a TOUGH game, that cylinder bridge at the beginning is a killer. I also lost a bunch of FPS as the game progressed, which added to the difficulty. All that being said, I like the game. Its visually awesome and the music and sounds are great too.

Modulizer by Kotie 2019-10-28T14:01:36Z

Solid entry. I was able to get all the modules and kill the boss.

The transitions to each room were a little jarring.

Greta Thunberg's Planet Converter by celmer89 2019-10-27T20:58:51Z

relaxing game, nice concept, but I wish there was a little more mechanics. maybe ocean generation or ice cap melting.

Defective by CafeLovai 2019-10-27T15:29:10Z

Congratulations on your first entry! Hope there is plenty more in the future :) good game, but very unforgiving.

I do wish it was more like a twin stick shooter, where you could aim your shots with a second set of directional inputs. Like if WASD was dedicated to movement and the arrow keys were dedicated to aiming, or vice versa. That would help vs enemies that move diagonally. It'd also be nice to have a way to reset the game without having to shut it down. I died a lot

LD46 — Keep it alive

Plant Panic by Knatt 2020-04-22T22:16:36Z

Im so sorry! I uploaded a old version on day 2, but when I updated it, the files didnt go through. it should be working now

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Loop Trap by Knatt 2020-10-11T13:29:30Z

@cryptomnesic I was worried about that, did you get pinned between a platform and the ceiling? I included the energy wave as a panic button but I’m not sure how else to get around that problem. If this is a common thing I’m open to suggestions on how to change it from anyone

Raised by Serpents by binroot 2020-10-24T13:47:54Z

I like the idea. Like other people were saying the controls are hard to grasp but I managed to win. I think the most jarring is when you get access to all the pivot points. It's a real harsh switchup. When I got to that point the first few times, I thought I was doing something wrong and tried to get my snake back to the center

Crystal Racer by hunttis 2020-10-21T15:30:58Z

I had a blast with this game, the real fun is trying to beat yourself. One thing I really wish was in there was a quicker way to restart the level. There were times where I knew I messed up my run time, but I needed to finish the level befor another try. I would have prefeard to just abandon the run Highscore.png

Hamster Tank by elemel 2020-10-25T20:51:06Z

Fun game! The controls are a lil hard to get used to, but satisfying when you finaly get it. Art style is absolutly cursed, but thats a plus in my eyes

Loop Pool by PTSnoop 2020-10-24T13:23:04Z

I loved this submission, great job! I could see myself pawing away at this endlessly on my phone if there was a little more polish. I wish there was a little more precision and english involved. I was playing it on the computer and my cursor is bound to the screen. Whenever I found the ball at the north side of the table, I couldn't drag the cursor as much north as I’d like to. I would meet the top edge of the screen.

Sock Mates by cptdustmite 2020-10-21T15:05:16Z

was testing on a computer cute graphics and audio. I felt it mostly came down to random chance, I didn't feel like my input was that usefull. I think this is a good starting point!

Onrail by JammedGame 2020-10-11T13:25:54Z

Good submission! The music fit well, and the difficulty ramped up appropriately. Well done! The graphics and text started to get a bit too small for my eyes, and I wish there was a way to speed up time in some instances.

Lights by oda 2020-10-23T21:15:48Z

Fun lil puzzler and a nice start! Like @itskdog mentioned, it would make a good mobile game

Crazy Scientist: Lost in Dimensions by WormholeGames 2020-10-21T15:01:14Z

Great submission! You do an excellent job drip feeding new mechanics and making challenging final levels with those mechanics. The controls felt very jerky, but I was able to beat the game regardless.

Hackermon - Evil Edition by Le Don 2020-10-23T21:38:19Z

Great take on the theme. I felt like I could easily brute force my way through most of it, the selection that the player can change was always the answer. Still a fun game, good job!

Spiiin by Temulgeh 2020-10-25T20:35:19Z

Nice submission. If your looking for something quick and simple for audio I use https://beepbox.co

MUGEN by GOD COLO 2020-10-11T13:09:55Z

Great game!

I loved the music, The graphics we're a little crude but they worked for the game, and it was easy to pick up.

Some points of contention I see from other players are the color change. I also found it frustraiting when I would go to destroy something, only for the color to change and restart ALL MY PROGRESS! An audio que for when the colors change might help aliviate it.

lastly, Id choose a different color than Tan if you have white. At times when it was most chaotic I found it hard to differentiate between the two. Maybe green?

The Loop Planet by TheCakeConsortium 2020-10-25T21:11:27Z

You did a good job with this for as much as you bit off. I have had some absolute stinkers for submissions in past jams, and they are all because of ambition.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Space Trench Miner by notime4games 2021-05-13T21:16:21Z

This reminds me of those launcher games, where you gradually get better and go further. I love the idea and it fits the theme quite well. It was a little too slow for my tastes tho

Badger Break-In by Knatt 2021-05-17T21:24:13Z

@itsboats Hi! Knatt's wife, Besteau speaking. That was me but I realized I had to go to bed for I worked early the next day. Sorry for not sticking around to watch but thank you for playing our game we made! <3 We're Glad you enjoyed playing it!

Bioluminescence by loveapplegames 2021-05-03T20:57:29Z

Great entry! It was really easy to pick up and a joy to finish. One thing of note, at the start of every level I just spam clicked the screen for a little bit and that was good for a decent amount fish. Not sure if that's wanted or intentional, I'll leave that up to you.

Hellbearer: The Deepening by jelch 2021-05-15T18:49:55Z

really fun game! had a lot of fun learning the controls. I agree with @lorwon about the monsters having 3 hp. it seems kind of arbitrary

Get to the choppa! by cvetk0 2021-05-16T17:40:34Z

Great game, I love the pixel graphics and the music

Fleeting by Shess 2021-05-15T18:27:06Z

Fun game! the controls are very satisfying once you get a handle on sliding around.

Into the abyss by squirrelsoft 2021-05-13T21:11:00Z

I enjoyed maneuvering the ship and the music was wonderful. The only trouble I have is the clarity of where I was going and what I was doing. I echo located and the green arrow was hard to read when it got really dark. Good work.

Stairway to Silence by Talops 2021-05-13T21:34:09Z

Great game! I liked the graphics, the sounds effects fit well, and its fun to play once you get a hold of the controls. The aiming of the gun is a little awkward

Dig Dog Dig by Rolodophone 2021-05-03T20:36:37Z

I like the music! It fun and went well with pixel graphics. The game is a real test of patience tho... I stopped playing after I got down to the second screen and immediately stepped on dynamite, sending me back to the top. This game would benefit greatly if there was some check points or extra hits

Good entry, keep it up!

Chocolate Dip Cookie by MarcoMing 2021-05-03T21:10:58Z

I love the cute artwork. Music is superb! The gameplay felt repetitive and I was confused on when to let the cookie go. I agree with other commenters that the cookie should fall in if left in for too long. Also, since I was focusing on the arrows in the bottom left of the screen I didn't see the cookies above the monster until the second playthrough. I can totally see you making storybook games where you play through the story! Also nice unique take on the theme! Overall enjoyed your piece. Hope to see more from you next jam/compo.

Deep Thoughts by bordonne 2021-05-13T21:21:40Z

Ok this game was plenty of fun. I personally love puzzle mazes and things that make me think. Simple and charming. Very well done.

Little Shade's Big Adventure by Paul Merkamp 2021-05-16T17:30:46Z

Very moody game. I like the backgrounds and the music made for a very eerie game.

Duskwood by Voidsay 2021-05-16T17:14:57Z

good job setting the mood of this game! I got lost a whole lot, I wish there was some more land marks that I could latch onto. especially around the burnt forest area. Over all good entry tho!

Endeavour by leekanarchism 2021-04-27T21:56:26Z

Like everyone says musics good. it suits this kind of game. good job!

City goes deeper by ElectricStalin 2021-05-17T00:32:35Z

ok, so this is what I'm gathering from the game. the mines generate energy when placed on rocks, and the second building (I'm guessing hydro dam?) generates energy when placed on water. I'm not sure what the houses were for. I saw that placing one increases pop, but not sure what its used for.

good start! with a little more polish this could be a fun phone game

Sweet Dreams by LeHaine 2021-04-27T18:24:10Z

Nice take on the theme, going deeper into sleep. The graphics and sound were good, and the combo was very satisfying. I found it hard to parse the enemies from the background. I noticed the character has a shadow, maybe the enemies should too? overall its a great entry, congratulations!

G.O.L.D ! - Goblins Outventure Loot Diggin'! by Argorum 2021-05-15T18:38:27Z

You really channeled your inner goblin, nice work! Controls were frustrating, almost felt like a crane game

Tough game but nice entry over all!

Descent into tyranny by duo-afgebeld 2021-05-03T21:19:59Z

I haven't played this game yet as of writing this, but I have played Bioluminescence. When I opened this game for the first time, it said I completed the first 8 levels. I know there was 8 levels in the prior game, so I think its because of that.

Ok, played the game. Good entry over all. The pathfinding could use a little work, I ended up having to restart a lot because I accidentally trapped a red guy

@aquachain & @m-a-t thank you for pointing that out, it should be working now

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Dice Master Adventure by Knatt 2022-04-17T17:53:25Z

@hexkritor yea you're right about never needing to roll less dice than what you have. The idea was to have events that would require you to get a value within a window, like the girl and her cat. And the dice we're supposed to slowly ware away, but I didn't have enough time for more variety or balance.

Dice Master Adventure by Knatt 2022-04-19T10:10:14Z

@guzzungo It might have been a bug. Were the dice that "exsploded" sticking around longer than usual?

Dice Master Adventure by Knatt 2022-04-19T14:59:51Z

@misterjbro the idea (at least on paper) is that if you have an amount of dice and you take away the dice that roll 1 you will eventually run out. In practice the player would eather have way more dice than what they needed or none at all. I think if I were to continue developing it, I would make many smaller choices over a longer period. Thank you for playing!

Akashica by Skruffye 2022-04-17T16:59:03Z

This is an impressive game for the time available, great work. The music and the menu selection sounds set the mood so well. I would consider further development, maybe each room having a small corresponding image, just so the player can understand where they are immediately at a glance.

Final Forest by MartensCedric 2022-04-17T16:48:04Z

Very very nice, this game would be right up my ally with some more polish. It would be nice to box select trees so I could assign multiple archers. Also it's super impressive that you got it working on the switch. bravo!

Fist of the Zombie by guzzungo 2022-04-19T10:15:42Z

I got up to 50 zombies. Nice work, would love to see more variety like others are saying.

All Will Be Dust by Matt Heinrich 2022-04-17T16:44:03Z

The sprite work was really good! like others are saying, The game could use some more feedback when hitting something or being hit

Natural Resources by gamescodedogs 2022-04-19T23:57:26Z

took me a couple tries but was fun once I got it down!

Grovetender by Prakkus 2022-04-19T22:06:52Z

Loved the game, I especially loved trees doing damage to each other when falling. I found myself planning where trees fell, cutting them down to hit other trees, and using some to act as bridges across the water. I only wish they were a little taller! but still very Fun.

BLACK HOLE DEMISE by fraanns 2022-04-13T21:49:18Z

good submission. There are a lot of good ideas, although I didn't feel like there was an inevitability, just a recourse I had to balance. Otherwise great work

Housekeep by Roka Josh 2022-04-17T17:19:08Z

Really eerie game, nice work. I had a bug on the 3rd or 4th day, it seemed like the bedroom I spawned in was overlapping the kitchen.

LD50: The Mages Massacre by LMB 2022-04-19T00:17:35Z

The writing kept me engaged and the concept of outwitting 2 powerful wizards, destined to destroy the island is spot on with the theme. I especially like how you handled conflict resolution and how you could "buy" outcomes. one thing that was missing was the variety with some actions. for example you had at one point "aim, aim some more, aim a third time." one thing you could do is offer the player points for negative outcomes, like the player could "strain their arm" for an additional point which they could use to buy better outcomes. Overall a great system and a great entry!

Icecream Runner by ChickenChaser 2022-04-18T21:33:42Z

Nice entry. Trying to get everything comes down to trial and error, and it was a bit tedious. It would be nice to get some feedback as to if I was delaying the melting of the icecream. Graphics are pleasant and the speedup of the music is a nice touch!

CLIMATE GARDENING by Lexxio 2022-04-18T21:11:48Z

The game is really cute. I love the pixel artwork done in it. I wasn't quite sure how to pick up the scraps left behind by the cars and straws. Interactive clarity would be nice on plants and what tool I had out at the time (often I have meant to plant a plant but wound up watering the spot instead. Overall very creative take on the game and quite pleasant to look at! Great job!

Batteries not included by damedevy 2022-04-13T21:27:08Z

good entry. I had trouble identifying the hitboxes at times. My bullets would just go through enemies on some levels, and when I loaded back in they were fine.

Defend 'till the end by kjscott 2022-04-17T16:31:14Z

Forest Guardian by svemir 2022-04-20T00:01:34Z

good entry! I like managing the power behind throwing, I wish there was a visual or audio que when I did it tho.

Lava Tactics by animawish 2022-04-19T10:27:16Z

A novel take on the theme, great work! It reminded me of the creeper world series of games, except turn based. Major props for the variety in actions and the ability to set up the map before the game, that must have taken a while! Some more feedback would be nice when doing actions, and after a while the gameplay loop gets a little tedious. Great submission!

Watch Your Step by Rhanzoc 2022-04-17T16:37:09Z

Good entry. I got near the bottom and clipped through a floor piece right at the end so I decided that was enough. It was frustrating not being able to control the camera as others mentioned.

Balloon Time by pkenney 2022-10-20T12:32:28Z

Incursion by Doccrazy 2022-10-19T21:48:42Z

I like the light bending effect on the anomalies, but I ran away from them at first lol. After a restart and the hint I finished the game, had fun with the dogfights :)

Dimension Clicker by Dr_V 2022-10-15T13:17:20Z

Short and sweet! I enjoyed the ramp up when I figured out what was goin on. It would be nice to get a counter of how many times the clock counted down. I could compare times if I tried to do it better a second time.

Escape the.. something by ThaProfesional 2022-10-15T15:33:50Z

Fun game! The controls felt good and it was satisfying when I got a good run in. I found that I died the most when the levels switch. I had fallen into holes that opened up under my feet, so I tried to be in a jump whenever there was a switch. This made me open to getting stuck behind platforms. Whenever the level switched it felt more like a run ending gamble rather than something I need to think through on the fly.

Ten 'em up by Matoux42 2022-10-15T19:29:11Z

good entry! I like that It restarts super fast.

NetCast by TopperVideoGames 2022-10-18T11:04:05Z

I had fun with this one, although it does feel like spamming pieces is the only real strategy. If that's the case than I can see a lot of interesting levels where pieces disappear, or you need to build off of some geometry. I already see you were doing something similar in the last level and the triangle red zone. Congratulations on completing the Compo!

10 Frame Adventure by dyguests 2022-10-20T12:40:35Z

great concept, I like how polished the level editor is. nice entry!

Alien Cattle Rustlers by macaroni.dev 2022-10-15T12:38:38Z

Once I got the trick of the controls it was pretty fun! I found the best strategy for me was to stick around the bottom of the map since they cant escape through the top. Then get the stragglers on the left or right when they happen. Let the cows randomly path into the circle, I managed to get 13 :)

image_2022-10-19_181157510.png

This was a very fun game congratulations, that last level was so unforgiving! I love these types of games. The movement is very precise and satisfying when you manage a optimal run after so many tries. The restarts are nice and fast so I can go right back to smashing my head. The difficulty ramped up nicely, I never felt like a mechanic was hidden from me and used unfairly, I got to see everything before getting to the harder challenges. My main criticisms are that it's hard for me to see the red-on-green hazards, especially while moving. This felt a little unfair in some places but I was able to avoid them once I knew they were there. Also, personally, I'm not a fan of the strobing lights. I can't imagen playing a longer version of the game. Not saying it looks bad, it's just not to my taste. Still, great entry!

Pablo's piñata party by Njitnelav 2022-10-15T19:39:22Z

controls are satisfying once you get ahold of them. Simple but a fun one

Quantum Caves by DevLope 2022-10-15T15:10:24Z

LD53 — Delivery

Merlin's Warehouse by MKnooihuisen 2023-05-17T01:17:58Z

Nice entry! the music was enjoyable and the movement was nice and smooth. I wish there was another mechanic to hook me in, like a dash or throwing the object into a chest. As it stands now the game comes down to rote memorization.

Just a cog in the machine? by Erkberg 2023-05-15T22:27:37Z

Great submission, congratulations! The music sets a good tone. It took me a minute to realize there's more to the level than the hatchery. Great stuff :)

Sir John Diggity and his friends: A Dangerous Delivery by Sheepolution 2023-05-17T01:58:01Z

Nice entry. I had fun with the controls. I loved the part where the princess and all the goods were tossed into the air. It took me a couple of times to figure out what was going on, it could use a little clarity. you need to click on the screen to move the character over the objects.

Tight Five: Still Alive by weeping-rupee 2023-05-14T00:19:31Z

So, I got one win on medium and tried for a while to get a win on hard, this is what happened; Its the last turn before the heckler nails me. In desperation I play 2 face down cards. it goes from 13 to 27... wait, that means those should be aces... can I switch them to a 1. IT WORKED! 21! go to end turn. Click... click again... spam click... nothing. I get caught on the screen unable to progress. willIwin.png

I liked the game a lot. You put in a lot of effort on mechanics and polish, great job! It started to click once I realized you don't need to play a joke every turn. I would fill my hand with face down cards because I knew I could flip them later. I would try to get a decent amount on the field and filter cards until I had a winning amount. The constraints of needing a specific kind of joke, along with 21 points, along with accounting for the crowd type, along with keeping a card for the heckler makes the window for victory very very small. It feels like a lot of luck is needed to win.

other tiny criticisms: The way that jokes are made is clever, and I got a few chuckles out of some combos. But you can end up repeating jokes a whole lot and they can get old. also I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I had a crowd that was apolitical but I needed a political joke to win. I restarted after the first heckler lol, didn't feel like making my victory window even smaller. Bug.png

Great Submission!

Badger Break Out by Knatt 2023-05-14T10:35:20Z

@weeping-rupee Thank you for the awesome feedback! I love when people post videos, I can see immediately what I can do better.

Audio is very janky, its defiantly a weakness of mine.

Squaregot Survivor by cdunham 2023-05-17T02:15:10Z

Great entry! I got the concept straight away. I found myself trying to hit escape to get out of the menus a lot. It can be a pain to have to click on each menu element when I'm incentivized to optimize time. Also, sometimes when I'm next to a box that I click, the "in hand" menu appears right under my cursor and I drop the goods.

To Infinibee And Beyond! by Prakkus 2023-05-15T00:25:07Z

Pleasant game. The music looped nicely and wasn't offensive. I wish there were more movement options, as most the gameplay comes down to waiting till I'm on the same level as a flower. Congratz!

Echoes of Empathy by simex 2023-05-16T01:48:14Z

It was an interesting concept. I work in a hospital so the thought always crossed my mind when I see doctors talking to patients. It was a nice thought exercise for a while, until the ai started constantly asking for the diagnosis. I would love to see it developed further

FAT BOBS PIZZA DELIVERY! by Hengen 2023-05-15T23:25:09Z

The controls were nice and satisfying once I got used to them. My natural instinct is to hold down the forward key. It took me crashing a few times before I figured out you can let off w and keep the speed. Very addicting!

Last Supper Shuffle by magus77 2023-05-18T13:39:31Z

I like the procedural aspect of the orders, and it was a nice touch to add footsteps. There is a small audio bug when selecting the computer while moving. It will loop the footstep sound effect and its distracting to hear while reading. Because I'm going back and fourth to the computer to get tasks, this is something that came up a decent amount

Meat Sweats by Str8griz 2023-05-16T01:22:23Z

Nice entry! I liked how you put clues to where each component of the delivery was, and that each room had a separate challenge. The graphics were also very charming. Congratulations.

Carnage Courier by DecrementedPalindrome 2023-05-17T02:27:29Z

Fun game! I loved adding pieces to the ship. The music and the sound effects were also well suited for the game, and the pixel graphics are charming. I feel like there isn't much more tactics that strap everything to yourself and dodge bullets. Its great for the time that you had, I would love to see it developed further. I can imagine all sorts of additional parts or synergies.

Bumbol by MiniBetrayal 2023-05-06T13:13:35Z

Really nice game in such a short time span! The amount of depth with the simplicity was nice. I enjoyed playing this, and the slow start up to get the basics felt great!

Winter Factory by Jul._.li 2023-05-13T22:01:29Z

Good take on the theme, and great job progressively introducing mechanics. I wish I could click and drag the notes to different parts of the screen, my instinct is to place the hose furthest to the left and it gets covered up.

Monkey Delivery by GameDocs 2023-05-06T12:12:41Z

Simple and fun!

I got confused with what it meant to deliver the package to floor x/y due to the buildings both appearing the same, but I figured it out!

I LOVED the clarity of the sound FX! I knew I dropped off the package to the wrong floor if it made that "dioyioy" Sound FX

Art is cute. I hope to see more assets to interact with in the future!

Very sweet, simple and cute. Love it.

Deliver the Gem! by SlickClyde 2023-05-13T21:46:33Z

Congratz on making it to the finish line! I liked the concept of throwing the package you are trying to deliver. The combat was frustrating though. The skeletons shoot at such a rapid volley, I found myself trying to throw from around the corner. But because the accuracy was the way it was I would miss almost every time. the times where I did hit it felt like I was lucky. One way you could solve this is having ammo, maybe the package isn't one gem, but a bag of gems?

I see this is your first gamejam, and that your account was made 4 weeks ago. Keep at it!

Parcel Control by Vitaslayer 2023-05-17T01:32:21Z

Good entry. Reminded me a little bit of Papers Please. One thing to note, it actually got easier once the illegal item was added. There was an easy to see fail state, so getting 2 or 3 in a row really put me ahead. Had fun playing! Congratz!

Soul Siphon by Knatt 2024-05-03T13:59:58Z

@ciaranw the enemies are killable, but they got a lot of HP. It wasn't playtested, so the balance could diffidently be off. I was going for the GTA wanted system, where having 5 stars sends the most challenging enemies. TY for playing!

Fruit Punch by hunttis 2024-04-28T18:04:13Z

fun game when you get the controls down. It gets really hard for me when you get over round 5

Cast by Shredmer 2024-04-30T11:13:41Z

Nice relaxing and simple. The pixel art kept my eyes moving around the screen while the bobber was going. I get the feeling you wanted the theme to be fishing lol. Good entry!

Bad Rooms by kjscott 2024-04-28T17:19:08Z

Fun quick game. got it immediately and it was satisfying to implement all the different spells.

Purrfect Portal by Teto 2024-04-21T17:39:32Z

@rradu I was in the same boat, you need to have one of the cats not doing a job so they can transport the fish from the lake to the center. One way to get a little more clarity is if they wore a different hat. Once understood that and you buy things from the building tab on the right side of the screen I was right as rain. I had fun with the game after a few rounds of trial and error!

The Summoned by CataclysmicKnight 2024-04-28T17:13:23Z

Very imaginative! I didn't have a printer, so I had the PDF open, and wrote on a blank paper. One suggestion I have is combining the rules with the actual score sheet, rather than have the score sheet and a separate rule book. I found myself constantly flipping back and forth through the PDF, which became tedious over time.

The Wanderer by Rustywolf 2024-04-28T17:27:34Z

Nice entry, had me coming back a few times.

Spoonmaster by RumiaObsessed 2024-04-28T17:51:35Z

Summoned Survivor by Jaxah 2024-04-21T18:33:02Z

Tough game but fun to play! It was hard to see if I was affecting the circles. There were times where I wasn't summoning a projectile. I just assumed it was spawned over the circle and instantly destroyed, but I couldn't tell

Eldritch Invoker by Nimolas 2024-04-21T18:25:21Z

I like the concept of uncovering runes and making a circle out of them to summon things. The few areas that Id focus on is feedback and pacing. It was a slow grind. I hit him for like a 5th of his health and he got me with almost nothing, so it was obvious that I was going to win, but I still had to sit through the projectiles crawling across the screen. Congrats on the entry!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Invertaburied by bradur 2024-10-22T13:53:22Z

love the music. It made for a relaxing experience. If I'm understanding the upgrade system its Sight Range, Dig Speed, and Move Speed. It feels like your testing the players ability to pick out an optimal upgrade path. I think you run the risk of people not choosing the correct path and having a frustrating time. Congrats on the entry!

Tiny Mushy Froggies by BitLuderRb7804Fr 2024-10-13T14:45:17Z

Hi there! I got a chance to play your game and I gotta say I was laughing at each mis-time I did. I loved that I could immediately get back into playing again. I also give kudos to using Pico-8. My only struggle was keeping an eye on incoming traffic and being able to see the meter. Perhaps the meter could be the frog? Hope to see more from you next jam!

Miku's Minion Madness by Miku 2024-10-19T14:37:24Z

I have to say that the music was really well done, I like the clarity that it gives when the timer for the round is up. It's a cute game.

TUSK by NBumgardner 2024-10-22T13:28:23Z

Wow I had a lot of fun with this entry! Mad Max meets The Frog and the Toad, I'd buy a 1.0 if you all polished it up!

The art is very charming and the music fits well. The voice acting is charming but the audio was a bit high in terms of mixing and I felt it peeked in some spots.

The puzzle aspects kept me engaged. I loved the upgrade system, it was simple and effective. I would be very conservative with my money and loose with fuel usage. I'd save upgrading until I absolutely needed it AND I had the correct rolls to overcome the wall. otherwise Id take the hit and that seemed to work out eventually.

I'd love a quick and temporary way to get your numbers up. maybe a small bonus at the cost of fuel, but the bonus only stays around for X walls. possibly cheaper mercs that are only hired for so many walls.

You guys should be proud of this one. Its a great game!

Cat&Dumplings by Anton4ik-dev 2024-10-08T14:08:31Z

Congrats on the entry, you did a good job with the animations. It was hard for me to get a gage on collisions. The rolling was especially difficult, The art (although well done) doesn't clearly indicate the hurtbox of the obstical

The Governor's Will by chusmimax 2024-10-15T20:13:05Z

Who Catchy by LeiGGaRFeeD 2024-10-08T13:45:03Z

Congratulations on your first entry. The art was well done, and cute! I noticed a bug when I complete a round and are put back at the main menu. When I go to play again it automatically puts me back in the win state. I also noticed the authors image isn't scaled to fit the screen and it looks like some of the people we're cut off. Great entry! hope to see you at the next LD

Journey from Critter Grove by galaxybat 2024-10-13T14:19:24Z

Very cute game. The mechanics to solve the puzzle by shapeshifting to different animals felt satisfying. It's easy to get caught in geometry when the transformation ends. One way to solve this is to include a level restart button. I felt it fit the theme really well, hope to see another entry from you next game jam!

Bactoria by GiomomoGiovanna 2024-10-20T11:17:11Z

Awesome game! I enjoyed playing this little microbe RTS. I hope to see in the future a way to see how many certain microbes I have alive and a faster way to see where they are on the map. Also if resources could spawn randomly on the map after they have been depleted. Overall wonderful game!

Motomon by Jawdan 2024-10-23T22:09:37Z

Very nice homage to Mario Cart. I liked the pixel art and the characters are rad, my favorite is King Kami. Once I realized that it wasn't a race I found that staying ahead of the pack and mashing e was really dominant. You take blocks from them and you fish for a homing missile, I unlocked 4 when I used that strategy. I had fun! Great entry!

WE LOVE THE BOYS! by Brain Siege Gameworks 2024-10-19T14:42:34Z

nice take on the theme. The art and music work well together and the caricatures of the cells are charming. Everything went by super fast. I couldn't tell if I was doing good or bad everything just seemed to happen. congratulations on the entry!

The controls are intuitive, I think this a good start. I tapped out at around 15%

Congratz on the procedural generation! That's a tough one to pull off well in such a short amount of time. The art is charming and I liked the into/ outro music. There were a few times where It would not register that I was moving to the next room. I would hit the black portion of the map and it'd act like a wall. I was able to back up and get in every time by backing up and trying again, but it was a real pain when I made the long trek back. Good game!

Good entry! The style was simple but it fit the game, and I liked all the decorations around the level. I didn't finish the game. I appreciate hard games, but this one tipped over into frustration for me. 30% HP punish for hitting those red jellyfish hurt sooooo much. The damage when hitting walls wasn't consistent. sometimes I'd hit the wall and it'd only do 1 point. Sometimes a corner of my sprite touched a corner of an obstacle, it'd register up to 10 points of damage. Overall great game! Welcome back!

I'm terrible at bullet hells but this was a fun game still. I had the same problem as @holyblackcat, had to press every key on the keyboard to find it lol. nice entry!

Amazing! This has some of the best polish I've seen in these jams! I especially liked the characters, very likable. I might have been missing something when it comes to throwing the anchor. I didn't really use it, I found it way more useful (and satisfying) to keep it out of my hands and using it like a hoolahoop. It was incredibly satisfying to use the momentum of the dash with the anchor. Well done, you all should be proud! Finished9livesDeep.pngally

I had fun playing. So much so I would forget to press the button to go to the next floor. I'm not sure if it was intended, but if you're quick enough you can buy multiple upgrades.

I liked the art and once I got a handle on the controls it was fun. The jump between screens is jarring, I often times found myself in places were I don't expect on screen transfer. Congrats on completing the jam!

I liked the concept but I also couldn't beat it. I found myself burning through my resources fast, then being in free fall till I splat. It was way faster to just close and restart the game. Good start!

Easy to pick up and it has a nice difficulty curve
