The music was really relaxing. I loved the pixel graphics. Good job
Music was nice, graphics were good, I REALLY like the mechanice of landing on planets and transferring to a rover, and the circular gravity of the planet was a neat touch. I did get stuck inside the first planet I found, it looked like there was a square object I should push but it was wedged in and wouldn't budge. I think the into is a bit too wordy for a jam game, best to get to the action as quick as possible.
Lovely music
Amazing music, really fun to control the space ship. Nice little story :)
Simple and lovely! I liked it a lot!
Fun game, the simulated gravity worked really well. Thanks for the game.
That blew my mind when I realized I could land on a planet and move around like a platformer game
Wow, great concept and mechanic. Has chill vibe.
Like everyone says musics good. it suits this kind of game. good job!
The theme and the music kinda reminded me of Outer Wilds? Fan? :smiley:
I really like this! I think it's so cool how you can combine the space ship flying with the platformer style! Also I think the gravity is really cool! I would recommend you make a way to go backwards though, because it can be slightly difficult to navigate as is! Another thing is, on the blue planet, some of the white moving pieces are getting stuck for me, making it difficult to escape.
Even though the graphics are so simple, the game really feels like an experience. Freely flying through space, exploring stuff, getting out of your shuttle to collect materials all while the gravity is changing while you're walking and getting back into flying again. The transition is seemless and I like the mechanic a lot.
The music also adds something special to the game. It feels complete and despite the pixelated graphics you instantly feel like drifting in space. There were some bugs, for example I couldnt move the white platform that would lead me to the next crystal and I got stuck in the star/couddustthingy and couldnt get out. Also the music crackles a bit too much for my taste.
Good stuff!
Nice art, chill music.
Like Shaolin Dave I was stuck on the first planet with the square close to the core, so I couldn't get farther.
The game looks and sounds great. Regarding the game play I had struggled to navigate and find the correct direction but overall it was a fun game.
this is really cool and well done! overall i think the game is very relaxing, and is a game i could play for a while. the planet gravity is really interesting too. unfortunately i got stuck under the white platform when exiting the blue planet, but i still had fun. (i got outer wild vibes even though i've only played that game a few hours 😊)
This was awesome! I really enjoyed everything about it, especiallly the physics used for the movement. Wheeling around and jumping on plants felt fantastic!
Great trip through space ! If I am not mistaken, were you going for Outer Wilds vibes ? If so, you did a great job replicating the exploring sensations !
Strenghts : - Well designed gameplay loop, fun exploration - Well designed planets - Fantastic audio
Possible improvements : - Planetary approach is sometimes a little cumbersome
All in all, great game !
Thanks everyone for your feedback! We're so delighted to have people play our game, we hope you've enjoyed it :)
@shaolin-dave @elosociu thanks for reporting the soft lock with that pesky box! I was a little worried about that, I've now updated the version of the game to _hopefully_ totally fix that for future players.
@jlv @marcusuke @elosociu yes, we may have all played Outer Wilds to some degree ;)
@ss9 good suggest! That was indeed on our list, but didn't quite make it in time.
@too-lazy-cat @trusty @pawciu @caveman54 glad you enjoyed it
@pickyburrito49 @keylime thanks! focussing on the transition between the two modes was one of the main focusses of the game so glad to hear it's worked for you
@tengusheath @iaandrei @ayxh @knatt glad you enjoyed the music! @scoobyben1 made it all :)
I do wonder what happened to me inside the star. You need to make a sequel: "Incredible Star Adventures of pod #642044"!
I liked the game in general and how it played. The story is small but nice, and it did make me wonder about my probe hero and his further fate. Which is great! Platforming elements were not frustrating and the blue planet, with all the pushing of things, was great. Flying in the gravity well sometimes was more like rolling :laughing:, but that's probably on me, not you.
Graphics would be nicer with just a bit more of consistency - the worst offender being this gradient textures/effect which felt out of place in otherwise practicaly pixel art. Music is great, definitely adds to the exploration and mood.
Overall, a nice jam job!
Ah, this was such a good little experience! Both the flying and the platforming felt really good, which is very impressive for a game made under such a time constraint.
Some nice things that stuck out for me: - The planet that was covered in an inpenetrable layer of trees was a really fun setpiece. - The radar was intuitive and well-integrated, it didn't take me long to work out what it was. - The dialogue system, though simple, was built well and added to the atmosphere of the game. - The two planets you explore have different platforming mechanics - the grassy planet being straightforward and the blue planet using physics objects - and this give them their own identity beyond just being visually different.
Was there supposed to be anything on the purple planet?
If I could offer some feedback, it would be to tie the discovery on the hollow blue planet into the narrative reason for visiting the sun. As soon as I retrieved the glass and the ship was made heat-proof, I attempted to explore the sun, but it didn't open up until I visited the blue planet. Maybe the crystals that exhibited signals of consciousness could whisper about *secrets* hidden in their star to point you towards it?
Regardless, this was a lovely game, well done all!
I like the graphics
I see someone else liked Outer Wilds. ;)
I went inside the star :D Beautiful atmosphere seasoned with a mysterious plot. I liked it!
I really like this game! I explored two planets, the one with a lot of trees, and the one shaped like a hexagon. After exploring those planets I opened that mysterious door in the sun!
Cool game! I liked the exploration and mixture of play styles between the ship and planet exploration. Some of the rotation of the camera threw me off a bit, but at the same time I liked how you did the planets where you were always pulled towards the center.
Thanks everyone for playing and for your feedback!
@fabula-rasa Thanks! Yeah, we ran out of time to draw graphics for that planet, so I just chucked some shaders on it as I was messing around with them! Definitely would've been next on the list to polish. Who knows if we'll hear from Pod #642044 again!
@korinntech thanks for the details! There's nothing on the purple planet, that's a very last-minute deeply-undocumented "training planet". The idea was that the discovery on the hollow blue planet is a virus which infects Pod, freeing it of its programming restraining it from exploring deeper than its owners command. But story somewhat fell into the "should" list on the last day!
@eckkert yes indeeded ;)
@robotex @nuanda79 @sombrero-guy thanks for playing!
@leekanarchism Did you try my game? :)
Great music! I thought the star was a planet so I kept trying to land on it before getting the heat resistant power. After finally getting into the star though I did not expect to find a door. Loved the ending just because it was so unexpected
I also really enjoyed the physics puzzles on the blue planet with the circular gravity. That was a lot of fun to play with. Good job on your entry!!
@robotex I have now! It was on my list a while ago :)
@technonugget thanks! Glad you managed to finally get to your destination :)
Very nice! I really like how you captured the vastness of space. It very much feels like exploring a galaxy! The HUD is awesome and I love how you can seamlessly transition from space to a planet surface! And you even managed to mix in some platformer fun including a few physic puzzles. Crazy! Played it to the end. Loved every second of it. Thank you so much, this entry is really something special!
Really enjoyed this one! The exploration felt real, the controls of the ship were also smooth and made the travelling feel comfortable, not too fast and not too slow. The dialogues at the beginning give you a glance of the story really well. Great job!
