Very nostalgic game. Had some issues with camera jumping every so often but overall very polished

Very nostalgic game. Had some issues with camera jumping every so often but overall very polished
The controls were kind of jittery, made it hard to play. The whole tearing up your character concept was a cool take on the theme
Really funny game, i think liam was nervous the whole time, not sure why. The voiceover was hilarious but the sound quality on it was a little crispy.
Fun concept and good jokes ( I thought the same thing about the stinger haha). Was a little slow though, it didnt get to a point where I couldnt keep up
Fun simple game. I left 342 mindus behind :*(
Nice simple game. The engine noise did get repetitive but overall good job!
Fun game, wish i could have minions bring me gold in real life.
Really creative game. Awesome sound track. Isn't it a wonderful day?
Fun idea with the various minigames for each character. Would be nice to add a bigger indication that items are being added to the inventory that need to be equipped to work.
Cool concept, but it feels like it took ages to collect resources. Was pretty funny seeing the minions run with their bombs all the way across the map to the castle.
Fun game! The sound effects reminded me of the worms games.
Fun idea, I liked the dialogue. The sound/voices were a bit jaring though.
Fun game, I really liked the art. Unlimited peons to crush in my path to the top!
Great game, I think I found *my* missing piece.
Cool concept, bones got me in the end!
Fun idea, I liked the meteors falling from the sky. After a bit though the graphics started to look like I was watching a 3d movie without the 3d glasses on.
Great game, took some thinking but I made it through successful. My poor robot :(
Fun game, lots of replay-ability potential with the different choices.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I couldn't figure out how to respond individually but I appreciate all the feedback. I would definitely say lack of z-sorting was my biggest regret. It was intended to have items destroyed on drop (like in WoW) but I could have made it clearer that was going to happen. Thanks for playing!
Great concept, shame you couldn't add all of the features. Had some issues with clipping. Let me know if you release a finished version in the future.
Great game. The slot machine dialogue was really novel.
Funny concept. Rotting corpses not only safer than spikes but they add to the decor
Great game, really liked the concepts and the graphics. Felt a little too passive at times though.
Liked the concept, and the narration was funny too. I tried to use the exit button to exit the piece, but yeah it exits the game.
Great music! Even as an American it still felt weird seeing the coin increase in size after taking damage. Like others at first I was frustrated by not being able to move in the air. Then I was like oh yeah... that's real life physics. Nice submission!
Interesting take on the theme. I let out a nervous laugh when my first passenger was killed for food. As others have said, controls took a bit to get used to but overall good entry!
Really nice looking game, the music helped set the scene too. I had a tough time getting through the game due to the combat though. Great concept.
Cool concept, seems like you put thought into the puzzles. I would add a popup to tell you when you are standing next to a pedestal that you can place a crystal there. Took me a bit to figure out that was a thing. Fun game!
Mom, dad, I'm finally the doctor you always wanted me to be! Fun game, could use some music and some more variation on the core gameplay loop but I liked it overall.
Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't able to duplicate this sprint bug but I will do some more testing. I was hoping to put a mini-map or arrow to help point in the direction of the enemies so it wasn't a hunt at the end but sadly I ran out of time. I'll make sure to adjust the phoenix's hit box and spawn location for blood particles for the post-LD version!
I was kinda confused the whole time, like sockyman said it was hard to read the text. Next time I would chose a more readable font. Definitely a unique take on the theme, I liked it.
Fun game, the music really fit. Felt weird attacking a ship and shooting at an island though. "Why's the rum gone?"
As said before controls were a bit difficult but the game has a really neat feel. I like your implementation of the theme.
Try as I might, I couldn't really figure out what to do. I randomly got something to combine but it never happened again.
Was a fun story to play. It seemed like I got stuck inside the shredded paper puzzle and wasn't able to exit to look around some more. The audio really fit the game. Nice job.
Difficult but fun game! So hungry! Definitely could use some more sounds but overall good job.
Really unique concept, I liked the idea of keeping a balance. It might be nice to grey out the cards or add a put away animation or error message when the world is being simulated. I kept trying to move the cards during that period.
Great game. Was really relaxing, made me wish it was longer.
Great take on the theme, nice puzzles!
Really liked this take on the concept, had a lot of fun with it.
Game: "This is you". Me: "Oh wow it looks just like me, how did they know?" Fun game, would be cool to see you keep building on it.
Nice core game loop, the sound really fit the game well. Hard to connect to the theme though, empty poison meters?
A little hard to tell what things were at first but once I got the hang of it I got the drive to become a better farmer!
Fun concept, the digging was relaxing. I couldn't get the buzzard to come on HTML version either.
Really nice concept. I did have some trouble dragging the orange blocks but it was satisfying to get the end.
Got 4 enemies! Ok, maybe its not much but I was proud. Sound effects made me chuckle.
Created a nice atmosphere, had fun.
Sound hurt my ears a bit. Really liked the end scene where it counted up your items and flung them across the screen.
Hilarious concept, great use of the theme! Shift is kind of OP.
Fun concept! Lots of different things to discover. I think the it tried to end when I was talking to Dr. Evil but it just froze on the chat box?
Great art style and story. Might be neat to add some puzzles or consequences for the actions.
Was a joy to play, almost as fun to see how many I could collect and not evolve.
Made it safely to my computer! Had fun figuring it out. Maybe freeze character controls for a second after re-spawning. I died a few times because I was still inputting my last action from when I had died.
Nice idea, I had fun flying around and the effects were engaging
Fun concept, the additive controls were cool. Should add some levels that utilize everything at once!
That was quite the experience. Great take on the theme, though a little too flashy to play for very long.
Nicely done, was fun to load myself up with darts and go crazy. I had to drop all of my upgrades to get past some of the spikes, not sure if that was intended or not.
I think I found a new career... on second though, better not. Fun concept, would be cool to see this game continued.
Simple yet fun, should add some whale pals to celebrate your return to the ocean.
Nice game, I wish I had some antibodies to help!
Had to restart a couple times after my Dr. got stuck but this is a really neat take on the theme. After my performance, I'm glad I'm not actually the doctor for these aliens haha.
Had some issues with framerate with this but once I got into it it wasn't that distracting. Couldn't get very far but the flow mode has a powerful feel to it. Nice job.
Really cool idea, played this one for a while. I like how the challenge ramps up.
Had fun with this one, the bold text hints were a nice touch.
Thanks for playing everyone. My original thought was the fun of discovery on how to play, vs making people read a lot of text. @rob-avery there is a pause menu if you hit escape to restart or quit etc. @rigdonware once you have enough money you can hit the refresh button to replace a dead or empty plant. If you die before that then use the escape menu to restart.
@william-derksen Thanks for this. It's exactly the direction of the game I was going for. Glad you had fun.
It gets so tall haha. My workers seemed pretty lazy. Had to by a lot of 2x speeds to really get them going. Fun game
Had fun with this game, I was OK with the movement, took some getting used to but it worked. However I did find that if I didn't jump off a platform I would be frozen in the air after it left and wouldn't fall until I used my thrusters.
Had fun playing this one, nice platformer, agree about the jumping though. Keep up the good work
I agree about the sounds being an issue but the puzzles were engaging. Maybe I should bring more music to everyone in real life.. 6 feet (2m) away of course
I think circle has a death wish. Still had a lot of fun carrying my less-capable friend to safety.
"Ya Died", haha. Fun game, I like having a complete body. Controls are pretty standard, I don't agree with people saying to add pages of text to explain that, adds unnecessary clutter.
Too bad Jeremy was unlucky enough to have me as his designated savior. It didn't go well for him but I had fun, and that's what matters right?
Fun game, can see the heavy blackthornprod inspiration. Would be cool if the collectible locations were randomized each time
Really fun game, wish there was more!
Fun game, seemed really polished. Though it was still kind of tedious picking up everything even with all of the upgrades. Would be cool to see a coffee upgrade to speed up the digging or single use bomb type items. Thanks for the game.
Nice game, wish there were more levels to keep going. Seems like it would work well on mobile with multiple levels. Thanks for the game.
Rewarding experience that kept me going for a high score. I liked hanging out in the jellies just to slow down and take a second. Thanks for the game.
I like the difficulty options, not something I've seen much in jam games. Had fun blasting my way through hordes of enemies. Thanks for the game.
I had some trouble connecting this to the theme. You did a good job though keeping me coming back to try to make the best stone. Thanks for the game.
Fun concept I feel would work well as a mobile game. I liked trying to time digging groups of blocks while the same one was falling next to it and obliterating it before gravity took it away
Relaxing game, the sound really set the theme. Now I really know what its like to be a spinning wheel. Thanks for the game.
Mom? mom!!! MOM?! Was a little repetitive but fun overall. Thanks for the game.
Great job setting the tense atmosphere, the lighting effects and sounds really made it feel creepy. The core gameplay was a little repetitive but I felt motivated to see the end. Thanks for the game.
Fun game, the lighting worked really well. I was able to bypass the first puzzle without doing anything for some reason. I did the puzzle the first time then the screen went grey later in the game so I had to restart. When restarting I hastily went down the steps and the first blocker didnt stop me. Overall fun pretty fun. Thanks for the game.
The transparent mouths were mesmerizing to watch haha. Thanks for the game.
Felt very fun swinging around like that and the music track really fit the game. I don't think I ever used the 2nd grapple so I'm not sure what its for. Although I wasn't able to find where to go next after meeting the 3 people in the big room so maybe its useful after that. I was also able to stick to walls indefinitely and go wherever I wanted by just clicking the grapple quickly. Overall fun game, really captured the feeling of swinging well.
Thanks for the comments everyone. Glad to hear most of WebGL is working better than in our testing. @scott-steffes , @llaumegui , as others have mentioned there is a mouse sensitivity slider in the settings menu that should help out with that. I appreciate the feedback though, in future projects I'll set per-build default sensitivity settings to make it work better from the start.
@psv-games-studio Yeah, as @cheeks said I'd be interested to hear more about your computer/what version you tried. Considering it runs in WebGL (the issues with that build are mostly mouse sensitivity issues and not collision detection or slowdowns) I'm hard pressed to find the game "heavy". Were you using one of the untested mac/linux builds? If so I'd recommend giving the WebGL version a try.
@psv-games-studio Thanks for the info! Sorry it didn't work out. Hope you can have some fun playing some of the other awesome games in the competition!
Thanks for all the feedback everyone, we'll definitely use it to make even better games in the future.
@korfi glad you got good use of the slider, I think most people don't even notice it.
@hpa97 yeah we've seen some feedback that on some browsers/machines the mouse is weird on WebGL, for that reason we mostly recommend the windows build which seems to be more reliably smooth. We tried to keep the ammo scarce so you couldn't just run through everything shooting and had to take risks with melee.
@jonathan-turner Hmm which version were you using? At least for the machines we had access to for testing in the jam we didn't see any issue with the mouse not properly disappearing (after clicking on the screen) on WebGL or windows other than when it should be there for menus. As for the motivation, as the description describes the science experiment went awry and you're clearing the facility to avoid them escaping. We maybe could have made that more clear in game. Glad you enjoyed it!
@kassymov-iran I'm not sure what you mean? Could you elaborate? The game has multiple levels to explore and a lose as well as victory condition when you make it to the final area (or die along the way).
@made3 Haha yeah, hopefully he doesn't try to eat his way through, the slime may have some unexpected effects!
@boxedmeatrevolution Thanks for the feedback. I went back into the game to see if the elevator being lower than the floor for the level like it is on some floors was messing with the character controller on your machine and it seeing it as too high of a step to traverse, but that's actually one of the more lined up floors. Any tips for reproducing the bug so I can find a fix?
@kassymov-iran Aw man, don't think that way about yourself! Sorry we didn't make it clear enough. You need to find the keycard thats on that level (for the lobby its on the desk next to the scientist). Once you have that then aim at the keycard swiper in the elevator and hit e to interact. After that select which card you want to swipe. That unlocks the button for the next floor (turns green). Then hit e to interact with the newly activated button. Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere though. Thanks for giving it a try!
@boxedmeatrevolution Thanks for looking into it more. I uploaded a new version to itch for windows labeled "TDOSWindowsColliderFix". If you're still interested please give it a try. Don't really have other ideas at this time for a fix if it doesn't work. Otherwise, thanks for playing!
@not-as-artistic Thanks for playing, glad you were able to make it through! There actually is a mouse sensitivity slider in the menu (along with volume sliders). Sorry we didn't make it more obvious.
Pretty need concept. Felt her fear with this one. Like the previous comment I got stuck on one word at one point. Thanks for the game.
Great game, lots of polish! Kind of frustrating sometimes that some traps need to be activated (eg some fall traps) and cant be avoided even when you notice it. Thanks for the game.
Had a good time playing this. I would maybe try to use raycasts for things like data packs and doors, was a bit weird being able to activate it facing a different way. At first I thought the prompt was for one of the computers by the door. Overall fun time though. Thanks for the game.
Fun game, the simulated gravity worked really well. Thanks for the game.
Was fun to swing with the ropes, and the lighting really helped set the mood. The control positions were a bit cramped. I was able to chain rope swings a few times, reminded me of worms armageddon. Thanks for the game.
Took me a while to see the light that was mentioned (as others have said) but once I got the hang of it, it was quite fun. Unfortunately the game sometimes started me on a collision course with an asteroid with none to grab to evade. Thanks for the game.
bee tomato? Fun game, reminded me of baba is you in some aspects. Thanks for the game.
Finally got my pizza delivered to earth! Though it had a few more "toppings" then most would like. I think the floating added to the game with the difficulty bump so I wouldn't get rid of it. Though maybe it was a little extreme. Thanks for the game.
Had a good time figuring out the maze. The wall jumping mechanic was fun to play around with. I did get a moving platform to shove me into a wall a few times unfortunately. Thanks for the game.
Fun concept. Took me a bit to actually successfully get the beakers in. I had a bug where my robot disappeared after putting a beaker in the hopper. Had to restart the game to keep playing. Thanks for the game
Really good mood on this one, thanks for the game.
Fits the theme well, cool that you have to think ahead to succeed.
Well executed, really liked the art style. Thanks!
Fun game! Felt like throwing all the eggs over at one point and just being an only child.
Thanks for the comments everyone, glad you liked it. @praccen Thanks for mentioning that bug. It was actually an array out of bounds error... just pushed builds to fix this. @osh-studio Thanks for playing. Omitting diagonal movement was actually a conscious decision, we felt it was too chaotic with it with all the drunk effects/stumbling going on.
@simonl Sorry you had issues, we weren't able to do much linux testing. However the good thing is the music on the menu is supposed to sound muffled (due to being drunk at a club). I'll take a look into it and let you know if there are any fixes we can make.
@cozygamepals Thanks for playing, happy you got a laugh
They celebrated my death :(
Interesting game concept, would be curious to see what becomes of it if you keep going.
Really liked the mechanics of this. Led to some good puzzles.
This was pretty funny. Those passengers made the wrong choice jumping in my car.
Man I really need my cats too. Thanks for the game.
Fun game, could use some different levels. Interested to see V2.
Very nice mood, could use a little bit of variation.
Fun style, I was also a bit jarred by the jump but was eventually able to make it pretty far. Thanks!
Was difficult but had fun playing. Liked the interpretation of the theme.
Had fun playing this one, liked the puzzle
Nice puzzle, thanks for the game!
The new effects every 10 seconds were fun to try and deal with. Thanks for the game
Great storyline, the struggle is real
Great music, like the style. Thanks for the game.
Really good game, had lots of fun.
Had fun playing this one. Was able to make it to the end. Good job!
Was fun to learn the tower combinations. Nice game!
Liked the spam mail, felt like real life. Was a bit difficult to add ingredients but I eventually got the hang of it. Thanks!
Nice game, reminded me of wario ware.
Great job, had fun figuring this one out.
Great tunes, had fun.
Fun puzzle, interesting take on the theme. thanks for the game
I am not king of the ring :( . Fun game!
Nice boss design, did a good job with the platforming too. Thanks for the game.
This was pretty cool, neat art style. These brows have great power.
Ah the good ol' baby cutting the live wire. Fun game, thanks!
Really liked the random events, some funny ones. Thanks!
Great take on the theme, had a good time trying to get through this one.
Fun game, good challenge and loved the trees.
Me: Ooh, a relaxing game to just collect points. Game: Value -100 points Me: :open_mouth:
Fun game, the art style is neat, love the toy sprites.
Very unique game. Was nice to replay and see what others said that I missed. Thanks!
Cool game, was difficult. Would be neat to play v.s friends.
The turret variations were cool. Thanks for the game
Nice job with this one. Felt satisfying to float around getting baddies. I do echo what RilleP said, would be nice to have it not unpause until the cards disappeared. Thanks for the game.
Loved the ambiance, fun game to relax to.
Had fun, character kind of looks like me and I'm always getting attacked by goblins on my way to work so it felt very real. A little repetitive but I still played through the whole thing and was hoping for more. Thanks for the game.
Had a lot of fun with this one, played it for a while and enjoyed it. I had to turn the sound off after a bit though even though 99% of the sounds were great. The attacking/death sound was more like an audio crackle to me rather than a old school explosion sound.
Nice game, was a creative idea and enjoyable experience.
Fun game with a lot of interesting aspects. The progression felt smooth. Thanks for the game.
Fun system, had fun destroying my prey. Would be cool to see you expand on it more. Thanks for the game.
Fun game, seemed like it had a lot of interesting decisions. I did have a couple issues on web build: Couldn't type in the name box and couldn't use the checkbox to opt out of leaderboard so I just left it blank. It also seemed like I had the same issue Diego had, I was damaging enemies even though my dancers were still running to catch up to me and not orbiting yet.
Thanks for the game
Cool game, built up into some challenging puzzles.
Fun top-down game. Really liked the effects. Would be nice to see the source code.. this is a game jam after all.
Very comforting ambiance, loved the puzzles. Thanks for the game.
Had fun with what I could play but had a lot of issues with the web build. The dialogue background started out with glitched graphics but was still readable but then became completely blacked out once I made it passed the school. The inventory/menus were were also just completely back (when pressing the hamburger button or esc). Wish I could have tried more as the story was interesting. Thanks for the game.
Awesome game, this is the first one I didn't skip because no webGL and I'm glad I experienced it. Love a fellow mushroom game. The ambiance is amazing. Thanks for the game.
Really like the look of the game, the controls are nice too. Please develop it further, I'd like to see where it goes.
Innovative idea. Like the scrabble adventure combo. Thanks for the game.
Everything about this was great, from the art to the audio. Awesome mood. Thanks for the game.
Its a lot of fun even if barebones. Id suggest you continue working more on this idea it has a lot of potential. I think I had a bug where if I hit end phase before the selected adventurer finished its animation to the next phase, they took your money but there was no adventure. Thanks for the game.
Fun concept. Could use a little more feedback on the end of the day screen. Would be a cool idea with some more depth. Thanks for the game
Nice job. I like the scaling difficulty. "Hurry up!". Thanks for the game.
Simple but fun, the game ended quite far from the cart it seems. Hope you continue to work on this and add more. Thanks.
@jpgfg What comes out of delirium after 48 hours of game dev can be a wild thing sometimes. Thanks for playing
@Khamekaze Thanks for giving it a try. Cheeks did a great job with the models. If you want a more chill vibe and like mushrooms I'd recommend https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/trailside-mycologist.
Nice lighting effect, really helped with the mood. Wish there was some kind of health system so the game just wouldn't end in a split second mistake. Had fun with this, thanks!
Had fun with this one. The swinging mechanics are nice. Thanks for the game
Very cute, love the audio. Wish there were more levels, you should develop this idea more as it would be a relaxing/silly game to play.
Could play this for hours, but could use some difficulty scaling in some way beyond getting longer. Thanks for the game.
Great mood for this game.Really liked the music and tetris aspect. Thanks for the game
Great game, love the whole vibe. Just frustrating enough to keep you wanting to try again when you fail. Thanks.
Very nostalgic feel. Had fun pushing the poop around. The music was spot on too. Thanks for the game.
Great art style. I also had some trouble with the battles. I thought the hover corresponded with what they're likely to roll in that direction but I just kept dying. Also had a weird rainbow effect on the bottom of an enemy jittery.png
Thanks for the game
I need ALL the memes. Thanks for the game.
Fun game, difficult as well. I wasn't sure if this is intended but if I have games posted for sale and I fail, the posts to sell them are still up.
The billboarding was really nostalgic. Couldn't quite beat it but I opened red. Could use some more sound effects. Thanks for the game.
Very well done, everything worked as expected, had a little too much fun being the evil tax collector. Thanks for the game.
Great game. Love the music and the jokes. I agree, it doesnt seem to match the answers with the book to me. Thanks for the game.
Love the collecting mechanic.WS for left right was confusing.Maybe AD would be better. Thanks for the game
Cool concept. I wasnt sure why the evil ones still followed you after you collected them. They didnt seem to do anything after they reached me. Thanks for the game
I hate the dentist! Im so old and they are so fast! The mouth at the end with the adobestock watermark was funny. Thanks!
Interesting concept. I dont really feel the tutorial explains what dialog to pick. Also proce is not really a word used in english, I had to look up what it meant and even then it didn't really fit.
