LD45 — Start with nothing

Cradle of the void by notime4games 2019-10-11T09:13:45Z

I wish I could play the game, but in the web version I couldn't see my cursor, and as other people said they could control something with their mouse, I suspect I am unable to play this game... I liked the atmosphere and the sound from the beginning a lot though! EDIT: I figured it out. It is not even close to intuitive, but eventually I got the controls. I will leave new feedback once I explored the game EDIT Nr. 2: Yeah, this is a great moody game. The atmosphere, the sounds, the creepy graphics. I wonder if I got to the end (it said "now give me everything", then the screen turned grey). Anyways a nice puzzle game I'd like to see an extension of. SOme kind of hints at the beginning would still be nice though :D Thank you for this experience!

Totally not Settlers by mr-tag 2019-10-11T10:06:38Z

A beautiful looking game! I feel like I was running around in the beginning too much, so I wasted a lot of turns there. The idea with the workers is very nice, though it feels very slow. It would be a lot more entertaining if you would start with an explored area and some kind of tutorial on what to do though. Still a nice idea and even more impressing concerning the time you had for creating this game! I will come back and give it another try later.

Osage by tvle83 2019-10-09T15:14:12Z

A really beautiful game you made. The text at the beginning was scrolling by too fast and I wasn't able to read all of it... And I felt like it got repetitive very fast. Maybe the game was lacking some "enemies" of some sort? Still I had fun with the game :D

SectClicker by themarioga 2019-10-08T20:36:42Z

Neat little game, for sure! I liked the font and the options, as well as the display of your sect members on the right. Only thing is I don't understand how this dept thing works :D still a lot of fun, this game deserves every single good rating!

Trashwars by pestodesign 2019-10-09T14:44:32Z

I really loved this game. @hanna-knop suggested it to me and I immediately fell in love with the graphics and the music. I think strategywise the game is lacking some... lets say variety, but for a game done in 72h this it truly amazing! I will keep playing this game in the future!

Veni, Vidi, Upgradici by Kornel 2019-10-08T19:57:53Z

Really a funny game you made! I liked the fact that you had to upgrade EVERYTHING, creating a nice discovery experience. I just felt like the smooth movement was a little too smooth, as I missed quite a few points by sliding right past them. Overall the game was a lot of fun and I would spend evenings playing it if I didn't have to vote on other games :D (Also, might wanna give my game a try in return? :P)

WHILE (TRUE) { JAM(); } by cybersoftuk 2019-10-11T09:07:04Z

I played your game for a few minutes and got frustrated early on in the programming part. I have no experience with SQL and found it way too hard to find any errors. I still like the idea behind the game, I just wish there was more of a tutorial or any kind of hints. Also, I don't know if that is a bug, but my energy bar (I suppose that was the purple bar at the top of the programming screen) always dropped to the lowest bar, no matter how much energy I had in the beginning.

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-08T13:48:19Z

Thank you @sbakolis The link has been updated. I really forgot changing it to public... My apologies

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-09T08:50:40Z

@yaroslav-kravtsov very sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I don't have the means right now to publish a version that works on wide screen monitors, as I am not at home right now. Maybe you can give it a try later? i will message you once it has been fixed. Anyways, the game was set up for 16:9 resolution, meaning that any other resolution will distort the graphics.

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-09T08:51:51Z

Thank you, everyone, for playing and voting on this game! I will go through all of your games in the next few hours! I am alrrady hyped to see what you have come up with :D

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-09T14:33:40Z

@yaroslav-kravtsov I know, I just left it at default scale with width. Will change it once I can!

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-09T15:22:43Z

@cornel thank you for your not so kind words :D I tried WebGL, but unfortunately the save feature needed for going back to the menu and returning to your last state wasn't supported. That's why I decided against it. I hope I will find some time to polish the game and upload a post-LD version of it!

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-09T19:17:49Z

@cornel I know, I was just joking :P I appreciate your feedback and I am glad you commented! This will at least be a lesson learned for the next LD, maybe even more so an input for this game if I find the time to refine it.

@ausstein thank you for your vote! I am aware of the lack of balancing. I didn't test the game enough at the end, which is why pen and paper is so exploitable. I hope you still had fun with it!

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-10T19:49:25Z

@yaroslav-kravtsov through... let's say remote access I was able to upload a version with the fixed resolution under the link on the top, called Post_LD (zip). I hope xou will give it a try :D

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-11T10:55:48Z

Thank you @vaibho for your feedback. Balance has been a huge point of criticism and after the voting phase I will probably spend some time and rebalance the game.

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-11T19:09:23Z

@potti thank you for your feedback. I honestly wasn't expecting any other screen ratios other than 16:9. I guess it would have taken a lot of effort to fix the UI for all screen resolutions... As for the skill overflow: I didn't make it to the point where you wiuld earn n"kP", meaning that skill would be scaled down to fit into integers for longer. I will add this soon!

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-13T19:03:13Z

@stamestratagem thank you for reviewing the game! I agree, balancing is key to most games and I wish I had more time to spend on that. Hopefully you still liked the game and appreciated the effort we put in :D

A Developer's Adventure by Jonas Michael 2019-10-14T18:53:24Z

@yaroslav-kravtsov As I mentioned in a comment before the problem is that all graphics are set up for 16:9 screen ratio. I fear I can't fix these issues. I have neither the time nor the means to fix graphics for every screen ratio. Thank you still for your interest!

UPgrade by honzapat 2019-10-09T16:35:37Z

The game was fun, but I felt like there was not enough information on what endings were possible. Sound was also missing... Still a nice game you made!

In the beginning there was NOTHING. by Palemek 2019-10-08T20:28:26Z

So I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am able to place those simple nodes, but nothing else. I might have missed it, but there is very little information given in general, so I am lost. If you can help me, I will come back and vote on this game again.

In the beginning there was NOTHING. by Palemek 2019-10-09T08:53:35Z

@palemek ah, okay, thank you :D I have to get a mouse then... Still an amazing concept, can't waut to try it in its intended version :D

Life Starts With Nothing by NoobDev 2019-10-11T09:55:45Z

Cool game! The graphics were very simple and the game difficulty ramped up very fast. Unfortunately there was no indication of the enemies health, which made it hard to decide which enemy to shoot. At last I was just overwhelmed by like ten enemies attacking me from all directions... I still had fun playing the game! Good work!

Flat Empire by Dani Riwez 2019-10-09T16:12:19Z

I love seeing other clicker games, as I have made one as well! I liked your twist of conquering other nations, even though it felt like guaranteed success if you looked at the star ratings. That's why the second part of the game felt like on rails, as there was nothing much to do. Still I enjoyed the game a lot!

Nothing About Stage by nikita-lozhkin 2019-10-09T16:22:16Z

I unfortunately didn't make it in my first run, but maybe the next ones will be better. This game is addicting, and I would love to see some hints as to where the traps are placed. Just some kind of open riddle or something to make it easier to pass. Still, seeing my men walk into traps was fun, even though it meant I was less likely to make it to the end... Also some changing graphics would look nice, just so it doesn't get too repetitive :D I would love seeing this game polished and published somewhere!

Guno by Fvafhae 2019-10-09T15:57:54Z

A really funny game. I unfortunately didn't get through the agers level as well, so I seem to be missing out on a lot of the game. Still, from what I have experienced, the game is a lot of fun. The distance of the camera to the player seems appropriate and makes for some surprise when meeting enemies! Somehow I felt there was a lack of interesting graphics, like a background or maybe some effects when collecting energy balls. Overall still a very solid game, thank you for this experience!

Read or Die by Clovis 2019-10-09T15:32:34Z

That was a really fun game! I liked the fact that you had to discover what a certain collectible does by reading the code. I just felt like a) the controls were weird (with q = left instead of a) and that the jetpack was extremely hard to control. But overall your idea was a lot of fun!

At The Beginning by Flokami 2019-10-11T09:44:50Z

This game looks weird and seems a lot of fun. Unfortunately I don't speak french and in the webGL version the language selector didn't work... Still I managed to guess my way around. I wonder if the game was supposed to end on the "easter egg" video. That one was hilariously cringy. Playing your game was very fun, even though the game was very short...

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep it Live by TeamMonumental 2020-04-21T01:19:50Z

Quite a fun game concept! This is an amazing turn on the theme, and a pretty entertaining game. It gets very hard though, and it seems very repetitive. Still, amazing!

Vinyl Hills by MatthewPoletin 2020-04-21T00:50:30Z

I really like the idea! But I did not yet figure out how to actually satisfy the listeners and survive. There may be a simple strategy, but I don't see it... I would definitely like to see more of this!

A Wild Yeast Appears! by mortus 2020-04-21T14:18:09Z

Now for some reason, things flipped. All the time. I dont know how this was supposed to work, but I definitely failed xD Unfortunately I did not see much of the gameplay, but I suppose since you said it was lacking features, I probably saw everything.

Also: the delivery box idea is very nice, but opening and closing the box is really a lot of work and might discourage people from continuing the game

Hearth by rubentipparach 2020-04-21T14:05:48Z

The whole graphics and audio combination is extremely well done. The only problem for me was that the mouse sensitivity was way too low. So the game was way harder... Still I managed to finish the game (I think?). I am not sure what "E" does, but "Q" is very strong, so I ended up using only one ability.

StarShip Hamster by Maytch 2020-04-21T01:37:48Z

This is a lot of fun to play! To be honest, space hamsters themselves make this game worth playing, but also the rest is amazing!

Keep the LEVEL ALIVE! by magicera 2020-04-21T14:11:30Z

Quite a funny game, actually. I see a lot of potential, but the controls were kind of weird. Especially jumping felt pretty "weak". I also didn't get what actually destroyed the level... With a little bit of background music maybe, and some more explanation though, this will be a simple yet addicting game!

Life of ITman by Bozont 2020-04-21T00:31:50Z

Amazing game! I love the sounds and the graphics! I do feel like the game is maybe a little too hard and the gameplay is pretty repetitive, as far as I can tell.

Still, amaing job!

BΓ©bert and Gertrude against the Aliens by SylvainPV 2020-04-21T01:06:47Z

Cool game idea. Also, I would also like some volume controls. The loading screen is also very funny :D I liked it a lot!

OwOrbit by AudreyC 2020-04-21T01:10:37Z

Quite a lot of fun, actually. The gameplay seems pretty simple, yet addicting!

Unfinished Business by SpookyTrain 2020-04-21T13:54:33Z

The movement idea is really amazing! However, the problem of not being able to launch the ball up after being on the floor makes the game that much more challenging. Still it was a nice challenge and I will play more of this game once I am done giving feedback :D

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

while(1) {} by cakemonitor 2020-10-06T11:21:51Z

In theory a nice idea. I really would have liked the idea of unlocking new logic gates as you produce similar constructs, but without it there seems to be no progress or challenge. I would like to see something like that, then the game is very nice!

Cursed Labyrinth by marbles 2020-10-06T11:54:01Z

A fun game with a nice visualisation of creating mazes. Also a nice story line, especially when the enemy kills you! Great work!

Cursed Labyrinth by marbles 2020-10-06T14:18:46Z

@marbles naw, I forgot to use the potion and just died xD

ShortRails by Yorsh 2020-10-05T23:08:19Z

looks and feels amazing. Took some time to realize I dont have unlimited rails, but then it was a lot of fun! Great work!

ludum factorum by AMastryukov 2020-10-05T22:45:02Z

Beautiful graphics, good sound and fun minigames. Was a lot of fun!

Active Cell by Jonas Michael 2020-10-08T10:32:53Z

@yangying well, that depends on the problems. After each key press you have a small time window (I think it was 0.9s) to press the next direction. If you dont make it in time, you will change the first movement again. If you have other issues, can you give us a detailed description? We will then soon work on it! We are happy that you enjoyed the game still

I Will Eat A Apple by MZA 2020-10-06T09:53:25Z

For some reason I am unable to play your game. It doesnt even start up. I have no idea, why...

StarHamster 64 by Zashers 2020-10-06T11:33:59Z

Nice audio and voice acting. The obstacles and their relation to the rings is pretty bad, though, because basically all the time you will lose health. I dont know how it is possible to solve the game...

Still a nice idea though

The Forest Maze by Dongle 2020-10-08T10:31:09Z

Awesome graphics. I liked the animations and movement options, like the double jump. However, The controls for the gun seemed a bit off and I was basically stuck in the second (?) level and I am not very shure, what the objective of the game was. But I do understand that in 72h it is hard to get such beautiful graphics and self-explanatory levels with just two people!

Crazy Trains by Falzock 2020-10-06T14:44:00Z

Awesome game. Very challenging though. Are the required colors and the colors of the trains random? Because the third level was jam-packed with red trains and noone needed red xD

NiGHTMXRE by DanyVk 2020-10-08T11:04:23Z

Unfortunately I couldnt play too much of this game, because I am not very good with horror games in general... your atmosphere and sounds were on point!

I am going to assume that all of the great work up to the first nightmare thing will continue throughout the game and rate accordingly, because I cannot for the love of god continue anymore...

Stuck in An Egg by Demuss 2020-10-15T15:24:44Z

Pretty nice game. As it was said before, discovering new elements in the room was a lot of fun! I may have found a bug though, because the first egg didnt land on the train as it should, even though the train was already there and ready. Or maybe I missed something else? Anyways, nice sound and fireworks at the end :D

Curse of Huh by JagsyFox 2020-10-06T10:35:21Z

Funny game. As said before, this idea seems to be a little more common in this Ludum Dare, but you have made it beautiful. The collision detection does seem a little off, as I accidentally walked over the edges of some spikes, and didnt die. The paradox thing is hard, but I think adds a nice touch of difficulty. I would like to see more of this game! Well done!

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-06T11:13:33Z

Nice concept, however I faced the same issue regarding the missing dialogue. The suggestions are hilarious and made the gameplay quite humorous. I dont think though that you can play this game too often, as it seems quite repetitive (which makes sense regarding the theme  )

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-18T11:48:33Z

@shenawy I tried the finished version, and with the feedback it is actually a lot of fun finding out about the preferences of the time traveller! Good work on that one!

Meltdown Countdown by LukeDJ 2020-10-06T10:28:45Z

This game is ADDICTING! I couldnt finish the second level, no matter how hard I tried. And I for sure tried a lot! Maybe some of the "mini games" could have used a little bit more of an explanation, but figuring out on your own, what works and what doesnt was also a lot of fun. Beautiful art, nice sounds and, as I said, addicting gameplay. This is truly awesome! Also, you have to love the walking animation. That was a lot of fun to watch

Looper Driver! by Yigit Doruk 2020-10-06T12:44:08Z

I love the drifting. THe gameplay is a lot of fun, but damn the sounds are loud. Some kind of optin panel would be appreciated. Also, dont use shift for shooting, it tries to activate caps lock when I press to often xD

Anyways, well done

My Summer Roller Coaster by Patsui 2020-10-06T10:01:29Z

I definitely agree with all the other comments. This is a hilarious game, the only thing that seems broken is the customer rating. I find it weird that you can go over 100%, but that can be a required feature. However, losing people and still getting >100% at the end doesnt seem right. Still, a beautiful game! Keep up the good work!

Welcome to Station Alpha by Theo Ratkin 2020-10-08T10:54:58Z

Beatiful music and mood! I liked the story as well, but it seemed really short. A little more interaction would make this game probably a lot more fun. Anyways, I liked how suddenly the station behind you would turn into another station, so well done at that point!

Loopin' Looie by MatthewDavisGames 2020-10-08T10:46:23Z

Not too bad for the first platformer and first Ludum Dare! Nice graphics and a good idea regarding the theme!

A few things I found weird: First, the double SPACE opens the menu, which gets in the way, also, menus seem to stack, for some reason. The way the player basically stuck to the platforms seemed a bit weird, but that may be considered as a feature

Lastly, I would have liked a volume control for music and sound, because that was very loud for me.

Still, good work putting all of this together in such a short time, and most importantly, on your own! The game looked very well polished for a game jam game by one person!

30 Seconds to Die by Kharath 2020-10-06T12:30:05Z

Playing this game with arrow keys is straight up a nightmare xD

I dont have a controller at hand, so I cant try it out like that, but from what I have seen, it is a nice and challenging game for sure! Nice work on the sounds as well

Merry-Go-Madness and The Claw Of Survival by LetterAfterZ 2020-10-06T11:02:12Z

Nice game! Beautiful artwork and music, I am not sure though, how you are supposed to survive for more than a few seconds

I guess I am just not good enough...

Well done anyways!

Neverending Duck War by Angelee 2020-10-06T14:32:03Z

Lovely game, with a very cruel side. I was so shocked when I first saw a dead duck being fed to the mama

But that game looks so nice and is so much fun. I will play a lot more of this. Keep up the good work

Loop Control by Tomate_Salat 2020-10-08T10:23:10Z

Awesome idea! I liked the implementation of the theme a lot. The fact that the snake gets faster the more circuits you have makes for a very nice challenge. Also, the music is very moody and relaxing. Well done! I think, with some extra polish this game would be awesome. I am missing some details in graphics maybe, though I like the looks of the snake, or some sort of level design. Still, good work!

Stage Fright by ClassyBoganStudios 2020-10-06T12:23:43Z

Really amazing game. The idea to combine music and TD is just nice. I really wanted to get as far as possible, just to hear the amazing music. Unfortunately I had difficulty hitting the right enemies with the right instruments, even though it looked like I chose the right color. I am not sure if I got the color wrong or if there is some kind of enemy life system.

Still, great work!

DeliveryTruck by Cerins 2020-10-06T12:36:14Z

Interesting puzzel game. The truck behaviour seems too unpredictable, though, which is sad for such a game. Also, Audio would have been nice. Anyways, nice idea!

Stuck in a Hula Loop by RichardK 2020-10-06T09:48:48Z

I am not too sure if I missed something, but is there really just this one level and when you are done, nothing else happens? I mean, I see some potential for this game, if there was any kind of difficulty or anything you have to solve to get to the scissors. Also, I was missing some kind of atmosphere, like with sounds and music, so there is quite some room to expand. I wish you the best for all coming LDs!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Last Spores by pestodesign 2021-05-04T16:11:26Z

Awesome game! I love the graphics and the idea behind the game! I believe, with some sound and a few modifications regarding the actual gameplay (balancing, undo, etc.), this game has the potential to be an absolute banger! Well done!!!

Greenception by AVAVT 2021-04-27T15:15:07Z

I like this game. Beautiful graphics and nice sounds! I have spent some time in dream one already, but I dont know how I can make progress. I legit spent several minutes planting and harvesting plants, but I am stuck at around 60% Greenification progress... If you can tell me how to progress, I will 100% revisit this game later!

Marbellion by acronaut 2021-05-05T15:32:31Z

Very... confusing... game. I liked the visuals and the sound - they added a lot of mood to the game. On the other hand, there were a lot of things regarding the controls of the "player" that simply didnt work for me. I guess crazy hard player movements were intended, but for me, this simply is not playable too long. I believe though, that this type of game has got an audience that can appreciate this type of difficulty, and for those I belive this is an amazing game. So still: good job!

Dumb Ways To Dive by Jonas Michael 2021-04-27T15:31:15Z

@cievers starting at almost depleted is intended - you need to collect the first oxygen tank you see without speeding up by pressing 'S'. As far as I know, that should work every playthrough. If it still doesnt work, message me please, and we will investigate

Dumb Ways To Dive by Jonas Michael 2021-04-27T16:06:25Z

Thank you, everyone, for all the feedback. We are aware of the state of the dialogue box and are currently working on a hotfix. Same goes for the end of the game, which in fact IS intended to be displayed at 1000m. Also, the dash currently has a short cooldown in order to not make it OP :D

If you have completed the game (as in when the timer stops :D) please feel free to share your speedrun time! Unfortunately we couldnt include a highscore / speedrun board in time...

Dumb Ways To Dive by Jonas Michael 2021-04-29T08:57:13Z

I am glad to announce that we were able to publish v 1.1, where we handled some bugs you have encountered. The following changes were made in particular:

- shark no longer swims backwards - size of enemies now matches enemies further down - fixed displaying the end scene at 1000m depth - fixed display of dialogue

If you want, you can replay our game now and enjoy it in the scope that was intended during development! I hope without the mentioned bugs the game becomes a lot more enjoyable to you!

Thank you all for playing, voting and commenting!

The Life Aquatic by Cary Stanley 2021-04-28T15:49:01Z

I love this game! High replayablility, because you can learn the layout of the cages, but still challenging enough so you dont finish too fast. I like the graphics and the audio! Well done! On the other hand, the controls feel very hard due to the high inertia, but I guess that was intended!

PS: I managed to get all ten specimen and finish after 5:55min

Power Station Beta by Dock Frankenstein 2021-05-05T15:03:18Z

I liked your game. The sound and mood were done really well, combined with these puzzles it made the game really come o life. The puzzles are neither too hard, nor too easy, so that you dont get angry too fast, but also you dont speedrun your way through it in the first go. Definitely well balanced! Good job!

Drowning in debts by Drunk Wizard 2021-05-05T16:03:53Z

Very beautiful game! I liked the graphics and the sounds a lot. Combining a nice gameplay idea with fish AI that is *just* a little smarter than our little diver, just creates a nice game to play and enjoy! Overall nothing important to criticise. Well done!

Hellevator by baconn00 2021-04-28T16:37:59Z

What an awesome game! I liked the whole gameplay. It was very challenging, so I guess you could spend a lot of time trying to finish the game. I almost managed to complete the game, but failed in the end... :(

Well done !

Beyond the Canyon by Dante2001 2021-05-05T17:25:02Z

Very beautiful game. I love the mood of this game. Combining a very sad story with beautiful music made this game feel very... depressing?

The only thing that I want to criticise is the lack of polishing (regarding graphics) in the last sections. I guess, due to the scope of this game, there simply is no time left at the end to polish these parts of the game.

Overall, still, very well done!

Road to darkness by Tvorojok 2021-04-28T09:58:25Z

What an amazing game! First of all, I love your graphics and music. They provide a very nice atmosphere. Also, the combat system is very enjoyable. This alone would make for a great game, I believe! On the other hand, I didnt like the the exploration mechanic. I think it is designed to keep you busy for a longer time. I feel like that part gets a little boring. I think, if you had focused more on the combat mechanics, this could have been an easy 5-star review for me! Still, very solid entry!

Deep Fall by fire_soldier888 2021-04-28T17:14:37Z

Nice little game. I think the graphics for the UI could have needed some customization, and maybe a little ramping difficulty would have been nice. Still, very solid entry!

Deep in mars by DocSystem 2021-05-04T15:26:45Z

Very solid LD entry! I liked the pixel art and the idea behind the gameplay! As I mentioned on stream, I would have liked for a way of defending from meteors, maybe some more interactions with the rooms. Still, very good job!

FruitLies by Jake B. 2021-04-27T15:28:54Z

I like your approach to the theme, as well as the graphics. Maybe you could have added some music, because the game felt pretty quiet, except for the club scene. Also, I think the game could have needed a higher difficulty, like trapping yourself with statements that dont watch what you said before. Still, the story is well-written and your game is fun to play, so well done on that!

The power of the deep by Tris250 2021-05-04T15:42:55Z

Very nice game for speedrunning! The "levels" are not really hard, so it is easy to focus on getting to the final scene as fast as possible. If you dont go for a speedrun approach, however, this game is way too easy. Maybe adding in more enemies in more dangerous clusters could have improved the game a lot. Overall, a very nice game with a great underlying idea!

STRAIGHT INTO HELL by DeliciousSalad 2021-05-04T17:06:07Z

What a challenging game! The concept is very simple, but the game gets significantly harder real quick. I was unable to beat your highscore, but I managed to score 3008 max. The concept is very addicting, so good choice on that one! Keep it up!

Dwarven Depths by steelax 2021-04-27T15:51:31Z

What a beautiful game! I loved the art and voiceover a lot. Also, the puzzles are very nice. Overall, besides some graphic bugs where you could see the blue skybox, and some issues where the light for the torches is deactivated when you are too far away, this is a very solid entry! Well done!

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-05T16:53:21Z

Amazing game! I wish I was able to play this game, but since I am generally bad with platformers, I only got to look at the first and second level before (rage-)quitting my way out...

Overall, nice use of music, good-looking graphics and very interesting enemies so far!

This game must be a lot of fun if you actually manage to survive for longer :D

Bug Well by Numex 2021-04-28T17:30:17Z

Very neat game! Simple but compelling gameplay, nice music and sound effects, and cute graphics. Overall very nice!

Into the Mines by Hugison 2021-05-05T16:27:53Z

Amazing game! I liked the art and the general game. Adding this speedrun timer adds a lot of competition to this game, which makes it very nice. The game is neither too hard nor too easy, so you have struck a very good balance there!

Overall a very good game!

A Fast Breakfast by Epicnoob1002 2021-04-28T17:01:06Z

Very solid game. Graphics and sound effects were good, and the game actually was enjoyable to play! KEep up the good work!

Try again by Cryoxe 2021-05-04T16:39:19Z

Nice game idea! I love the "effects" you get when you die, and the beautiful selection of art and music! I think the game itself is not too complicated, so the focus lies on the story with the "judgemental eyes" (love that expression!). Overall, well done!

LD49 — Unstable

Grenade; Unstable by Emkani 2021-10-06T13:44:49Z

This game was so intense! I managed to beat it on the second try, but I had only one platform left and I felt like that was the end xD

Anyway, the concept is very nice. I like the different effects and the fact that there can be several platforms around you. The music was nice as well.

The only thing I had a problem with was the graphics of the floors. I found it difficult to spot the one tile that has been destroyed, but with 4 intact tiles next to it. I kept falling into this hole on my first try. If you could add some more color to the floor, this situation can be very easily avoided.

Nonetheless good job! I enjoyed playing this game a lot!

Why Can't I Hold All These Items? by glenugie 2021-10-06T13:18:55Z

This game was so much fun! I love the interactions between the different types of items and the idea of running around and scavenging things. The music and the mood matched the game as well.

The only problem I had was that you could only complete one contract at a time (I believe). That meant that even though I collected things for the higher tier contract, I accidentally ALSO completed another contract and thus didn't get as much gold as I could have gotten.

Anyways, this game was a lot of fun to play! Good job!

Capitalist Alchemist by Jonas Michael 2021-10-04T22:27:57Z

Disclaimer ahead: this game has seen very little balancing. I expect most items to be too cheap, but I never managed to actually check on them.

Since I did most of this project by myself (except for the graphics, for which I am eternally grateful!), I experienced a significant lack of preplanning and in return found myself at a lack of time for a lot of polishing I had planned. However, regarding the actual game, I am very happy with the result. I feared my plans would be too ambitious, but I managed to finish the game in time. My only personal issue is with the balancing.

I might revisit that part tomorrow and upload a post-LD version for you to experience, what the actual feel of the game was supposed to be.

Capitalist Alchemist by Jonas Michael 2021-10-06T08:45:44Z

@spawnie do you have "special" screen resolutions active? I have mainly worked with 1920x1080, so I don't know, how all of it would behave inn different resolutions. I will look into it.

Edit: I just noticed the problem. You were not using fullscreen, probably, right? I will upload a version with this bug fixed - since it is game breaking, this should be allowed.

Capitalist Alchemist by Jonas Michael 2021-10-06T12:39:59Z

@fegabe @spawnie @glenugie @misfire-dev I have just uploaded a version, where the inventory is moved as intended. If this bug was preventing you from playing and enjoying the game, you can have another try now! Also, I have added a short help as to how you can make steel in the description.

In any case, thank you for your feedback. Thank you for appreciating the ambitions I had for the game in regards to the content. I know, that I have overdone it and left no space for polishing in my schedule. Since this was my first time doing all of the programming, I think this problem was to be expected, but I didn't respect it enough.

I will take your more detailed feedback into consideration the next time I have to make a game; I have always done step-by-step tutorials, so I thought I might try something new, but it didn't seem to stick. Also, the choice of font did match the style I was going for, but considering the font size I can see why there were problems with readability.

Capitalist Alchemist by Jonas Michael 2021-10-13T23:47:45Z

@asimir sorry for the inconvenience. This is the first time I have heard of this error, but then again I havent finished the WebGL version. I will look into it, but I will most likely not work on a load and save system. I will notify you as soon as the error is fixed.

Unstable Chem Mystery by Alexofp 2021-10-06T15:17:24Z

This game is awesome! The fact that there are so many interesting combinations, and most importantly, that most of these combinations serve a purpose, is amazing! Good job on making a fun puzzle game!

10 minutes to instability by JosΓ© Bonilla 2021-10-06T14:19:59Z

I liked this game a lot. The beeping of the bomb and the music make for a really tense mood. I also play a lot of KTANE, so I was familiar with the whole concept - however you managed to make an equally tense single player game out of this idea. Very nice!

The only issue I had was with centering the antenna. I would have liked some kind of visual clue as to which button I would need to press to get back my signal, but I guess this was part of the intended gameplay.

So, to summarize: this game is AWESOME! Thank you for making it!

The Great Escape of Alim the Magnificent, as told by his aspirant by spawnie 2021-10-06T13:02:40Z

Amazing game! It becomes really challenging, and since you dont have the same potions on the same keys, you have to look a lot at the potions you could use.

I found myself just more or less randomly creating potions in the hopes of getting rid of the enemies, which didnt work too well, but I managed a high score of 195.

One more thing: it would have been amazing if there was some kind of introduction to the new types of potion and their combinations. I get it, the idea was to try out stuff, but at some point I regained hp of my carriage and I didnt know why, until I had a short time window to check the created potions.

Anyways, this game is a lot of fun, and the music and mood match it perfectly! Good job!

Atomic Rock Paper Scissors by lucasvb 2021-10-06T14:32:20Z

Very relaxing and enjoyable game! The idea is simple, but the gameplay can draw you in with no problems. I would have wished for some combinations leaving stronger explosives, as a way to make the game more fast-paced, but the game is nice in its present state as well. Good job and thank you for making it!

Deathrail by Hotowlgirls 2021-10-06T13:51:29Z

This game has, as mentioned by others, nice graphics, amazing music and quite challenging gameplay. I think the fact that the controls were supposed to be used by one hand only made it so challenging. Anyways, you have done a good job overall!

Escape from planet Shaduk by fishtaod 2021-10-06T12:52:26Z

Very interesting game. The idea seems so simple, yet you have made it into a challenging puzzle game. I personally found it hard to find out hwo you could enter the rocket, so I only managed to complete it on accident, but I found it to be a lot of fun nonetheless.

A few issues I had: - (as mentioned in a previous comment) the music doesn't loop. Maybe I just took way longer than anticipated, but At some point the music stopped, sadly. The music was nice though. - sometimes the ducks rotate the wrong way around. Makes it look weird when they turn a corner.

Nonetheless, a very promising entry! Good job!

Star Miner by Misfire_dev 2021-10-06T09:35:43Z

Very nice game! The whole concept matches the theme, and the idea of dying and then sending a new and better robot in its place is awesome. I played this for quite some time, but I couldn't find any purple ore, so I had to give up before getting the best upgrades.

Anyway, good job!

Note: I found the bug too, but using a short burst of the hover ability gets you unstuck, so that feels pretty nice!

Power Supply by DOMO 2021-10-06T09:23:08Z

This game was HARD! I felt like the beginning was a little bit too fast, so you couldn't get used to the tasks you had to do, before failing for the first time. After several tries though, I think I got it working. Still, I felt like keeping track of all the progress bars was a little too hard for me.

Anyways, the missing sound was not that much of an issue. The game is fun enough to look past that. Very good entry!

The Door of Illusions by 2CCs 2021-10-06T09:14:38Z

This game reminds me of a game I played many years ago, and which I liked for this idea of having one room, that changes only slightly between levels.

It is very cool, and I like the music a lot. I am not sure, if I hit the end there, but I couldn't figure out how to continue after I got kicked out of the door several times.

Still, nice mork!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Nice game! I liked artwork and sound, and how they created a moody atmosphere! Also a well written story tht is unfortunately very true. Good work!

Rightful by jirrev 2022-10-03T23:14:18Z

I seem to have encountered an error during loading. I get several of the following messages in console: >Refused to create a worker from 'blob:null/a86e9ff5-f724-4597-9b98-b1183fe10910' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval'". Note that 'worker-src' was not explicitly set, so 'script-src' is used as a fallback.

This game is so much fun! Beautiful graphics, nice music, and nice incentive using the leaderboard! Good job!

Gravity Run by Jonas Michael 2022-10-03T23:04:47Z

@aleksandar thank you for your feedback! Restarting the game with SPACE is a bug - it should be fixed now! Thank you for playing!

@nenechico thank you for your feedback as well! I believe your issue should be fixed now - maybe give it another try?

Crazy Frenzy by cavejohnson332 2022-10-03T22:36:12Z

Very interesting concept with a lot of variety. I had fun, but only while I had actual weapons in hand. I don't know, if it was on purpose, but I had periods where I had no weapon and was just running away from the enemies. That part didn't feel as satisfactory to me. Maybe consider some balancing - other than that I enjoyed your game, keep up the good work!

B.R.B by sash-a 2022-10-04T12:07:05Z

Nice game! Very challenging, especially because you are forced to fixed spots every ten seconds. Well done!

Lys by VPhyre 2022-10-04T12:46:14Z

Beautiful graphics, catchy music, and a nice game idea! I initially couldn't click on the mirrors in the fullscreen version, so I just played it in windowed mode. Lots of fun, good job!

HeartBeat by chromaphase 2022-10-04T12:36:48Z

Nice atmosphere and graphics. I also enjoyed the voice acting and the simple controls. I didn't get the story, to be honest, and it was rather short, but it's a good game nonetheless!

Don't Shoot Yourself by Bo Dangles 2022-10-03T22:44:31Z

Such a fun game! I like that it has this puzzle-like aspect to it - it is very challenging and a lot of fun! Good job!

Midnight Game Child by MistaGiggles 2022-10-03T22:25:26Z

What a game! it took me some time to understand the game, but it was so much fun afterwards. I am bad with jump and run games, so I didn't get far, but I enjoyed the adrenaline that you get when hiding like that, nonetheless. Well done!

Jupiter & Arcana Travel Through the Nevermore by fae.pdf 2022-10-04T11:44:19Z

What a great game! I enjoyed the relaxed pace, the beautiful atmosphere and the music. Well done, keep up the good work!

Clique Hell High by Sean Esopenko 2022-10-03T22:53:01Z

Nice game! I like the idea of having to dodge one type of bullet and trying to collect the other, and then having to rethink everything when you switch. Very challenging, but also a lot of fun! I wish there was some kind of hint when you are getting close to switching, so you can prepare for the change. Anyways, good work!

Back for Seconds by Bit Flipz 2022-10-03T23:11:17Z

There seems to be an issue with the build - it gets stuck during loading.

Perihelion by Fuse in a Bowl 2022-10-03T22:17:12Z

Amazing game! I felt like I got physically stuck at some points where I expected to just glide past the obstacles, but that is just a minor problem. Other than that, your game has both beautiful graphics and a nice moody atmosphere. I also loved the challenge (or maybe I am just very bad with jump and run games). Keep up the good work!

PATTERNM. by MakeMakeMake 2022-10-04T12:25:24Z

This game was a lot of fun! It is incredibly challenging, but I enjoyed it a lot. Well done!

Also, I think a highscore board would be amazing!

Labyrinth of Darkness by lonagi 2022-10-03T22:30:46Z

Nice concept! However, I also had the problem with lags in the web version, and I believe there is some room for improvement balance-wise. I think, the arrow in the bottom right helped a little too much, and the enemies didn't really do anything, at least it seemed that way. In any case, very good concept, and keep the good work up!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Cropping Up by AugusteTheClown 2018-05-02T17:58:15Z

Really a great idea. I think, though, that there are a few things you could improve, e.g. the "harvest" button. It is really hard to navigate and harvest at the same time. But that is just a small Problem. Overall I love this gamp!

War General Simulator by machrom 2018-05-05T16:19:41Z

I agree to the others, it seems intimidating at first, and the commands are just way too Long. Anyways, I really like the idea, since I planned on doing something similar at first, but I found it too hard to do. I'd like to Play maybe an improved Version of this game, since it makes a very good Impression.

Just message me on my game (or Play & rate it :))

Hit 'em harder by Jonas Michael 2018-05-01T14:29:32Z

For those who suggested a tutorial, we do have a video tutorial, going more in-depth on the whole controls of the game. The tutorial parts in the description are just a very broad oberview.

But thanks, the review for your games will come tomorrow evening.

Hit 'em harder by Jonas Michael 2018-05-05T15:48:59Z

Thank you @ZaneDD for playing and commenting. You are right, there are some Bugs with the commands and the values, but they don't result from our Code (as far as I checked), so we guess it has something to do with unity.

Also, in regards to the bad english, you are right. We are all rushed and mistakes can happen. Additionally, english is neither mine nor @der_finski's mother tongue, so there is a high Chance of mistakes just slipping into our game.

Lastly, to comment on your criticism of our Chosen Humor, we are still experimenting around to find the right Kind of Humor to use in our games, and we decided to try a very dark Humor, just to test, how that works. Thank you for your comment on that!

Hit 'em harder by Jonas Michael 2018-05-10T09:17:33Z

well, there is a tutorial in the description. There is not much more to do, because a ingame tutorial wouldn't have helped. We decided that a text tutorial made more sense, because you might feel the need to look up the right moves.

Hit 'em harder by Jonas Michael 2018-05-14T05:40:15Z

In fact, as explained above, you first have to type the action, then hit enter, then the region. That is why it asks for a target.

Thanks for your feedback!

'Meme'bumps by Chetan pant 2018-05-02T17:45:26Z

So to be honest, I felt a Little bit lost. I followed the Sound of the Music, but nothing happened. I think I spend 5 Minutes running in one direction without anything Happening. Maybe I played it wrong, though.

Anyways, I really like the mood and the use of Sound as a "compass". Really innovative. I just wish there was some other sort of confirmation on whether one runs in the right direction :)

Snakes and Ladders: A Texted Based Adventure Game by argowen 2018-05-02T18:08:00Z

I just LOVE this game! It follows an Approach that I had in mind while Brainstorming for this LD, but I threw it away because I didn't dare to try. It is hard making such a board game in text-based form interesting, but you did it really well. Nothing really to improve (unless you want to bother with Sound some time), so Keep up the good work!
