Fun idea! Love the artstyle and the core gameplay, and it definitely creates a scenario for constant improvement and competition. However, I noticed issues with the UI: the build costs just show "1" while occasionally updating to a random value, then back to "1". This unfortunately makes progressing a bit difficult :( Regardless, I love the concept, definitely something I'd love to see taken further!

@chyrion The "issue" of the 1 cost is not an issue! Actually the deeper you build, the higher the cost, to make the gameplay more complicated :)

Love the concept!
It looks nice, it feels nice. This is the kind of game where I would love to see more of it.

Cool concept and well made! A reset button would be nice, as it took a little time for me to realise how it all worked, and I had screwed myself over by that point. So I had to refresh the page.
How do the asteroids hit stuff that is far below exactly? It costs more to build lower, but asteroids still hit it somehow

Nice game! I wish a missile battery to avoid this meteors.

Asteroid destroyed everyone in a first minute of the game :D Cool game, but lack of concent. I would play full version of this.

@steven-c To make it simple, the more the game progresses, the bigger the meteorites are and the deeper they destroy the base
Good game I had a lot of fun playing it! The asteroids make it only harder and I think it's fair! GG guys!

Good game, good graphics, wish it had more rooms because having only three different rooms to build is a bit too low.
The game overall is good and have a great potential to be expended

I find this game very similar to Factorio (https://www.factorio.com/) but I'm not here to talk about that. I don't understand the objective of the game and the relation with the theme, moreover we are blocked when the number of engrennage is at 0, the music turns in loop, I am really disappointed. But don't subscribe it's your first game jam :sob:

The game is very fun and entertaining, the music is excellent, as are the graphics, well done.
Le jeu est très fun et divertissant, la musique est excellente, tout comme les graphiques, bravo.

Super jeu, j'avoue qu'à l'origine le jeu ne me paraissait pas forcément génial mais au final, il est vrmt très bien mais un peu répétitif

@deedose, you shouldn't speak like that, I just want to explain myself I didn't put a note but I think there is room for improvement. Notament the meteorite which crosses the ground, explain the goal, how to play .

I really like this. Great job on the tutorial at the start explaining everything. The only thing I was really confused about was the + and - buttons under the starship button (do they change how much stuff comes on the ship? Why would I lower it?) Otherwise it's a cool base-building game. I really like how building stuff deeper costs more money but protects you more from meteors, it fits with the theme well. I did wish there was an end goal to work towards, because I found it too easy to keep building stuff and didn't feel like I was in much danger from the meteors. Overall a nice game!
Edit: I see you explained the thing I was confused about in the description!

@kypello The + and - serve to choose how much of each ressources you want to import . For example if you want to import a lot of workers and no gears , you can lower the gears amount to 0 with the - , and increase the workers amount with the + . Sorry if it wasn't clear .

@deedose starship in my game too
How do you put workers in the factory, and out of their homes?
deedose
2021-04-28 20:31
@fractal-flower-girl They only need to be in a module for them to be considered as workers , and work in the factories . It would have been cool to implement that , but we were running out of time , and focusing on the core mechanics .

Cool game! Making balanced management games in a small amount of time is tough tho. Kudos.
Edit from the future: We played your game on stream, here's a link to the VOD if you want to have a look  https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004121404?t=00h35m07s

That was pretty cool. Nice idea. I'd like to see it expanded upon. I believe someone else mentioned doing some form of asteroid defense or something. Nice job!
Good job on the game. Lots of fun! I liked it after I started figuring out a good tactic to go down further. I think I would change possibly allowing for maybe an area that shows up red of what will be destroyed before an asteroid comes down, so you know what to prepare for. It was fun though.

Gets a bit too repetitive pretty soon, but a cool game anyway!
This was a cool idea for the theme! I like the pixel art and the click-to-place felt really satisfying, and building an array of nodes was cool. I also like the idea of having to race against the asteroids, building deep enough to avoid them while still managing your resources. I only wish that the asteroids would leave craters, so to say, so that I can see at what depth the next asteroid will hit. (For example, if an asteroid hit on the right side, there'd be a huge crater that strips away the top level or two of dirt. That way I'd know that if another asteroid hits on that side, probably the next couple of layers would also be destroyed.) Love the idea and feels like a promising project to build on!

Cool game! Music is excellent. I like the concept of digging deeper, but slowly and limited by resource. It is a good idea to build tension.
Nice little strategy game! Can be sort of relaxing to play after a while. The asteroid attacks are a little harsh though.

Great work. Not my type of game but the presentation kept me interested for quite a bit, I especially like the animated interior of the factory room. Great audio and UI design too, the latter is something people tend to underrate when it comes to presenting a coherent experience but you absolutely nailed it!

I think that you should be able to store at least 1 gear without any storage room... 'cause if you lose all your storage rooms than you're stuck.. i think that beeing able to slowly regain all the buildings starting from 1 gear would be nice.. that aside, really nice game
P.S. it loked like those idle mobile games, but actually well made :)

Nice game! Took me a while to figure out what the factory and storage did (but that's probably my bad for reading too fast haha), but when I did it was enjoyable. I wish I had some indication of how far the next asteroid would go. Overall, very nice game, good job!

Nice resource management game! I hate asteroid btw (its a joke, I know asteroids are important part of the game)

@azagaya Without asteorids , there is no point in going deeper , and the theme isn't respected . That's why asteorids are in the game (well , I guess this comment is useless now that azagaya modified his message) .

Beautiful game and UI.
I was overthinking it : thinking I had to link building or have a correct ratio of worker / storage room / barracks. But in the end having a lot of factories is the only growth factor right ?
Maybe implementing some sort of rules : Factory must touch at least one storage and one barracks, but no factory. Barack must touch at most X and Y. etc. etc. Would make the base a bit more interesting/challenging to build / rebuild when some units are destroyed.

@dhim Money = Workers x Factories x 4 , so the most efficient way to make money is to have one factory and a bunch of workers . We plan to continue working on the game , and we will probably complexify the game .
Nice mechanic! I really enjoyed the simple design and it played very well.

This was a fairly relaxing game to play, the music was very chill and nice. The graphics look good, I like the artstyle. I just think the game lacks some kind of visual indicator of how deep the asteroids will go.

My first game "ended" when I ran out of people, despite plenty of deep-underground habitation for them, and only had 450 money left so couldn't ship in new ones :( - I noticed later, looking at your change notes, that I could probably have just shipped in 2 people for cheaper, but didn't realize that at the time. My second base started with building my own safe little home deep under ground, and did much better! Eventually had 10s of thousands of dollars and got bored before the asteroids destroyed my base ^_^. I liked the atmosphere and relatively chill gameplay, despite the impending doom . It would have been nice the residents moved to empty rooms if their homes were destroyed, would have prevented the unexpected termination of my first game.
Very solid LD entry! I liked the pixel art and the idea behind the gameplay! As I mentioned on stream, I would have liked for a way of defending from meteors, maybe some more interactions with the rooms. Still, very good job!
I really enjoyed setting up my own base. In my first run I wasn't entirely sure what to do and an asteroid blew up the only humans alive, which I found rather hilarious. I like the music, it made the game feel nice and calm, despite the asteroid threat. Great work!
