Thank's for the feedbacks.
I just added a second link (seems like my dns have some issues).
If you're experiencing some lag try the link in the bottom of the page, might be better.
I love it! For now, it's my favorite entry.
It could storm this dungeon again and again.
oxysoft > We hade a bug making the boss nearly impossible when we firt uploaded the game, it is fixed! Don't hesitate to give it another try. :)
SkyTheCoder > Thank you very much!
Pickens Inc. > One of my friend had the same problem, but it worked after he refreshed the page a few times.
I will ask our awesome programmer if he can fix it.
Please try this link and tell me if it works!
http://pauljoannon.com/articles/ld27/
Please do ^^
blackotus > He's a bit hard, but have you tried to destroy and collect his gears? He's way easier once you took care of his gattling-gun!
Cosr> Thank you for your comment! I kinda agree with everything you said. ^^
Cryovat > Here is the music!
https://soundcloud.com/studio-h-bomb/sets/castle-clocksworth
I don't think you can directly download it, but I'll see with Max if we can do something about it. :)
We are currently working on another (big) project, but depending on our ratings we might want to continue to develop Castle Clocksworth.
Jiggawatt > What do you mean?
Great art, sound, and atmosphere. Way to go !
Cool retro game, had fun playing.
You said you'll continue working on it no Twitch so I'm looking forward to it ;)
Awesome idea, polished game. What else ?
Qwerty and windows users only? Too bad you lost a huge potential audience... including me.
The game looked awesome, it's sad.
Just allowing the first player to use arrows or WASD would have been enough :)
I would switch my keyboard to QWERTY if I could, but the full screen mode switches automatically back to AZERTY. :(
I've seen a lot of games forcing the player to use WASD and I understand one does not think first of the bunch of french language speakers when he choses the inputs for his game.
I'm mostly sad because I really wanted to play your game.
Please try to think that not everyone uses a qwerty keyboard...
Good polished game, had a lovely time playing but it lacks some sound :'(
Really impressive job!
Great mood and game experience!
I might be stupid but I really don't get the 10 seconds theme in this... I finished the game but it is still obscure to me... I don't want to lower my rates on this basis : can you please explain it to me?
The second level loops when you complete it, is it normal?
You guys are crazy! O-o
The commands are smooth, there is no input lag at all, the graphics and audio are amazing!
It is just too bad that the game has no end or scoring, but still, you blew my mind!
Damn you psycho T-Rex, why don't you eat Jimi Hendrix once and for all?
Nice idea and realisation, but please think of the azerty keyboard users...
I totally agree about the gamepad. It would be the missing link between that fun concept and a cool gameplay.
Interesting use of the theme.
Very atmospheric and experimental game, yet using a simple but efficient gameplay. Congrats, man.
Great narrative, and simple (maybe too much ?) gameplay : you made the first "non eye-candy game" of this ludum dare that caught my attention :)
Pleaaaaaase do not only set WASD keys for controls, not everyone is using a qwerty keyboard ! Made me hate your game at first.
Passed that it's a nice platformer but I barely did not use the space button. Spacewhales are cools !
Also, music is quite repetitive and could drive me crazy.
Impressive! I think a different time limit would work better though... maybe 20 or 30 seconds. I can't really tell for sure because I was playing alone. ^^
Very fun but so hardcore.
The game was effective and fun !
It would be cool if the instructions didn't appear during 3 seconds only, though ^^
I just loved the face of the warrior.
The concept is cool, Some levels were pretty hard. Would have been better with some music.
I think the things that used to be in my eyesockets melted...
Cool sound and graphics, quite fun to play. Rated this very high.
Loved it, I wanted the story to go on... :)
Thank you for this. The entry's address has been updated.
Hi all, thank you for your comments!
Just to let you know: a post-jam version of XenoSerf is already on its way and we're of course taking all your feedbacks into account.
Nice graphics, loved the music. Had fun playing!
Clever game, I had some lag on Firefox.
Some music would have been cool ;'(
Anyway, this is what I want in LD games: a good idea!
Great entry! I'll try to finish the game when I'm back home!
The concept is just too freaking cool, I'll play it this week and give it some time before rating it. But wow, this looks crazy.
4 stars only... because that game definitely needs a multiplayer game. God that game is so fun!
GarethIW> that would be great! I finish the game every sessions now, I want to play it with the Hbomb team :)
Reminds me a lot of the mechanics of Samurai Shodown, only way more minimalist! Love a good duel game.
I think you could have add depth without giving up on the simplicity though.
As an animator, I would have tried a more subtile take on the "waiting" phase of the samurai's animation, maybe just one pose, completely still, some wind in the clothes, and just a bit of animated background to add tension.
When I lost again myself (I suppose I was the samurai who slaughtered my village)I didn't have the motivation to start all over again, you could have make every warrior defeated a checkpoint.
Hope to see your work for the next LD!
It looks like you didn't have time to implement all the level you wanted... I'm not so sure how far you could go with this concept.
Tried hard but haven't catch the orb! The game is laggy unfortunately...
Overall, congratulations for the work.
Even if the concept is really simple but is quite well implemented.
As I said, I had some fun playing your game but something bothered me. It is really hard but, in my opinion, not in a good way (I love really hard games).
There is a real issue with the collisions with trees. I was always thinking my character will be able to move between two trees and then bump right into one of them...
That gave me an awful feeling of unfairness.
In addition, that feeling is accentuated by flying enemies. Every single enemy is flying and, de facto, not affected by this tree issue.
Anyway, graphics are pretty cool (except the black background) and random generation works really well.
Music would have been great but who can make everything in 48h ?
I see the potential of the different weapons, but it needs a stronger level design I think. Maybe in a post-compo version of the game? :)
Nice game, kept me interested until the end. I like how even the guards armed with bows walk while sleeping. ^^
It could use some music though, and maybe a bit of backstory? I wanted to know more about Pete!
I liked it, a bit too frustrating, but not that much.
I still can't figure out what the character is supposed to be, but that's fine, he'll be a robot-backward-ninja in my heart. :)
I had some issues with the controls (some undesired restarts) but I was mostly impressed with the use of the mouse for a platformer!
The game needs a ZQSD or arrows option. Other than that the mood is great, and the gameplay simple but super effective!
Looks more like a video-clip than a game to me, but the graphics and sounddesign are great.
I definitely want to beat this game, it is just gorgeous!
These daleks are scary :3 The atmosphere is great and the red light is a nice gamedesign touch.
The controls need to be improved.
I didn't play the game too long because I have not been hooked by the universe in which it is set. A simple mechanic like this one could use a bit of background story and a higher goal than just "collect gold".
The controls are a bit hard to get but it's still fun
Really really nice game : the music and art are great and super cute, and the gameplay is simple but enjoyable.:)
However, I think the scoring/speedrun aspect of the game doesn't fit the poetic experience you decided to offer.
The graphics are really polished and nice, but the score system isn't that interesting, and the difficulty quiet low... I was bored pretty quickly. If you made the difficulty and the score grow faster, it would make the game more entertaining I think! Great job anyway!
Best entry I've played so far.
No amazing graphics, but those two sprites animations work incredibly well, and the dust FX add a lot to the experience.
The music was excellent (I'll have it in mind for the next two days) and the sound design was just great.
As for the core mechanic and the theme interpretation, at first I was like "hmmm... you only get one push? Meh, the puzzle will be awfully simplistic" and then I struggled to beat the 20 levels and had to restart a hundred times! I was wondering how you could polish such level design in only three days! Congrats!
The select screen and the ending add a lot too, I loved it!
The itch.io link is not working for now, however you should be able to get to the game through the other link.
@all, thanks.
@Azlen, I'm having a look at this NaN issue tomorrow. The second bug you're mentioning is fixed by now ;)
Just posted an update fixing game breaking bugs : http://ludumdare.com/compo/2014/12/09/fixed-game-breakers/ :)
Thank you all for your support!
We made a post-jam version of the game!
You can read all about it in this post : http://ludumdare.com/compo/2014/12/16/leaving-the-post-jam-version-is-done/
You can play it here! (or follow the link in the game's description) http://staging.mysweetwhomp.fr/djueb5/dist/
I really liked the game's mood! Good job!
I don't think it was hard, just a bit repetitive, and the overall stealth design wasn't perfect (like you say, the best method is to attract the viruses and then let them go away... not the most fascinating stealth approach :) ).
I still found it fun, and it was really polished for a jam game!
Took me some time to really understand what I was doing but after that it is cool. The idea is interresting, it's beautiful and the audio feels good. Good game!
Good idea, had fun playing it.
Well, that's interresting. Cool idea!
Nice game idea, the art is super cute and the music adds a lot. However, the gameplay itself doesn't do the story a favor, the try & die mechanism makes it pretty tedious while we do want to be involved in the story (how can I care for the character if he dies ten times in a row with no consequences?).
I also had a bug after a few screens (yeah, that also, the theme was "one screen" ^^") when the panda had only a split second to live, so I could not finish the game...
Hell yeah, a Godot game \o/
Wanted to try your game but I'm color blind and I can't see any difference between those two colors : http://imgur.com/KE8MOcn
Seems cool though :'(
Not a very fun game, not really original either. :/
Don't hesitate to try something more risky for another gamejam. :)
It was really nicely done, cool charadesigns and pixel art, catchy music, and a simple but effective gameplay!
It might lack a progression curve, something that makes it harder to survive the longer the battle lasts (like Smash Bros maybe) because the fights quickly become repetitive in spite of the items feature.
God this is addictive. Works great, I had a goot time playing your game!
The game looks great and the pun of the title made me laugh!
There is no azerty option, so I didn't play the two players mode, and the game mechanics were not addictive enough to make me want to score. :(
Congrats on the art style, please make more games with goats!
This was great, just great! Amazing charadesign and animation, simple but addictive shmup gameplay (maybe too simple ? I feel a lot of potential in the gamedesign but it seems a bit underexploited), I simply loved it. It's amazing how polished your game is!
Cool game, scored 100. But sometimes it seems the touch detection of the red thingy is too large and you lose (and it feels pretty unfair). Had fun though.
The graphics are neat, audio is a bit annoying. There is some issues with the walls (you can somehow stay mid-air against walls and shoot) but overall it is nice.
Pretty short though.
Wtf did I just play? This can only be stupid or genius, maybe both.
bart : Thank you for the feedback, we fixed the problem :)
ShuddaHaddaLottaFun : thank you for the feedback! we have just put a little "thank you for playing" after you beat the game so the player knows he did it. We don't plan to make a full length version of the game but we do plan to polish this levels and the overall game feel.
We might use this setting and the recruit system as a starting point for a future complete game though. :)
alfadur : the green character is a healer. We plan to put more visual and sonor feedback on his healing ability in the postjam version of the game. Thank your for your comment! :)
Vadim Ivshin : yes, we plan on exporting Windows builds (it'll be an Electron app).
Yami no tenshi : maybe try Firefox. What OS are you running on?
It was such a sweet entry, so sad it was so short :(
Wow, the art is reaaaaally great and I don't know when you found time to record every dialogs.
The story seems a bit weak but for a jam game it's pretty decent.
Good work!
Wow, that's some huge work! The door and oxygen system is hard to grasp though, even after we understood the basics.
We wanted to complete the game and see the end of the story but had a hard time with the controls (WASD only... think of the other kind of keyboards please). We will give it another try!
Great work!
I'm not sure I understood everything about the game, but the character is cute and it controls well.
Nice graphics
Mad fun playing your game on 2P mode. Keys are a bit close when playing on the same keyboard but it's contributing to the fun of "party games"! Didn't really understand how swords are working though but... who cares?
Love your audio too.
Good narrative, good graphics and definitely a lot of work!
We enjoyed the experience, the writing isn't perfect but it's definitely enjoyable and made us want to play it until the end.
I love the idea, controls are a bit harsh but it's fun to play anyway! Would have loved some sounds when jumping etc.
Music is good but sfx are too loud. I was a bit disappointed that the only mechanic was pushing boxes... That was a nice idea, more different puzzles would've been cool.
Fun little game, very basic but a nice first compo entry
Good job, an enjoyable experience, I'd like to play it on my phone in the subway. Keep up the good work!
Close to perfection for a jam game, extremely fun and polished! Great game!
Great great game! A lot of polish and a solid level design! It's very stressful but I loved it!
Solid game but I don't get why the controls are this complicated... Why can't we just click on the icons?
WOW THAT'S A COOL GAME. PB for now is 52:96 but I'll train a bit during the week-end so I'll beat this 95 seconds thingy. Anyhow, real solid entry!
This game rocks, classic but super smart and efficient! Super polish too, we're super impressed.
Owh a Godot game! <3
Nice entry (and nice idea), the game is fun to play. Maybe the concept will be quickly redundant though.
Really fun to play, a bit too hard but definitely very entertaining! The game makes you want to play again and again out of frustration.
Nice game, enjoyable to play, the level design is a bit uninspired though. But we love jetpacks so still cool :)
Why oh why would you make all the menus navigable with only the mouse when the rest of the game is played on the keyboard? This is infuriating! With that fact out of the way, this is a pretty good game! A bit short, obviously I would have liked more levels. Also everything is really tiny on screen, you could probably just scale it to 200% and imho it'll be more enjoyable. You have a neat basic game, I can only encourage you to continue with it and make a lot more levels!
What a nice entry! Everything feels polished, the idea is simple and great at the same time. You could probably drop this it the iOS and Android app stores and I bet it'll sell.
I love it! That is a really great jam game
@svntax @tomeks You should indeed be able to get back to the menu, it's a bug. I pushed a quick fix for that
@shell-pirate thank you very much for your kind words  Obviously yes, the tracks need to be refined. We tried what you were saying about several paths with the skull-shaped one and I think it'll be a good way to design some more. As for how to *beat* a track, you just need to make three laps but we realized when we published that we forgot to make an asset for the finish line… So it's a bit confusing if you don't see the track ends when you cross three times the line where it started.
@robowarrior1982 Sadly multiplayer was about 75% done at the end of the jam :frowning2: We might add it afterwards though!
@joloujed yeah... we realized we forgot that once the jam is over.
@wowa maybe in a near future
@peringo thank you so much for your comments and for already being hyped for our next entries. You can find some of our earlier ones [on the old website](http://ludumdare.com/compo/author/paulloz/). I think you can pass by the lap detection in the 4th track so your laps might not be registered each time.
@drevilbrain We will probably do that in a near future :checkered_flag:
@dodoita Yeah, it might take a little time to get used to the controls. We wanted to be as close to the original as possible on this part.
@pyrodaes As written in the description, you **can** use a gamepad to play
@historymaker118 can you tell me on what browser you're experiencing this and when please?
@joror I like the idea of adding a step before a tile is totally destroyed, we might go in that direction.
Yaaay! You did a pretty good job making a great game! The voxel style, although classic, is neat and the sounds are good. Controls are simple and effective. I can easily picture myself playing at this game when I have a five or ten minute break.
I don't know if that's intended but sometimes gold coins get stuck behind my little ingredient bowls and I can't collect them. It made me rage quite a few times :rage:
I'm not sure I have really more to say aside that it's probably in my top 5 games from this Ludum Dare. Kudos.
Cool game, I would have played more levels
Hey there fellow Godot developer! I really liked your game and the graphics are slick. Obviously it's not a revolutionary idea but it is well executed. Would have liked a background music and some more levels though.
I really liked your game. Everything, from the graphics to the audio etc., is here to set the mood and it works imho. Felt really personal. I might try it a couple of more times to get other endings.
Classic concept, but managing resources while playing a match 3 game is a nice idea. Would not need much to have a much better feeling: some more feedback when the player interacts with the game and maybe bring their attention to the ships at the top of the screen from time to time. :ok_hand:
It's a cool entry. I really like your art style. Makes me realize there isn't much point and click games during LDJams… That's a shame.
Aaaaah the mood in this game is so right, well done. Had a great time playing this!
Fun game and the music is quite nice. I'd like to be able to restart by hitting space instead of reaching for my mouse and clicking the button :stuck_out_tongue:
I have the exact same issue as @titos2k on my Win 10.
Once again, I don't understand why your menus aren't navigable with the keyboard when the rest of your game plays with it. I think the physics are a bit too floaty for it to be a really enjoyable platformer. Aside from that it is a pretty good entry, graphics are neat, it only lacks more levels. Kudos.
Nice ambiance you got there, I would have loved to have some musics and sounds to top it off.
@saoi-games I struggled on that too, you should click the dialog box at the bottom.
Five stars for the shooting sounds, worth it.
Is that this Splatoon game everyone is talking about?
Well… How can I begin?
That is a wonderful game, I think that's undeniable. Your writing is top notch, the graphics and sound fit perfectly with it, and on top of that you even went through the trouble of making both a French AND an English version during the jam.
I'm now stuck in this weird melancholic feeling between being very sad and somewhat happy. A kind of feeling only good (great?) storytellers are able to instil.
Put in a nuthsell: your game is probably the best one I played during this Ludum Dare. It is both a good and a bad thing. The good is obvious, the bad is because I kind of feel like this about you right now: Sans titre.png
5/5
Nice game! The game looks and sounds nice (maybe some SFXs are a bit harsh though) and the card mechanics are well thought enough that it's easy to understand and still deep enough do be amusing. Well done folks!
I don't really understand what I just played. Well done, I guess.
I'm amazed by how polished this game is. It's really hard tho. Nicely done.
Is it called Noor because it's a game about light? Anyway, the graphics and audio are great, you've got a good atmosphere going on here. My only issue is that everything is unforgiving, you kinda touch one pixel outside of a light and it is instant damage and, because in addition there's no checkpoint, it's really harsh. I'd love to play this more if you're going to work on it after the jam.
Hey, that's a nice game you have here! Loved it.
First and foremost: I could not play more than two minutes to your game because this camera rotation made me really dizzy. Please don't do that.
The idea is great and the art (both graphics and music) are neat. However the game may feel a little too luck based. I did not have a great feel of satisfaction when achieving things nor a great feel of failure when I missed. Also you really need to introduce your game mechanics to the player because here I was dropped out of nowhere in this game with a gauge in the upper right corner, a *“tolerance”* number in the middle and no clue what those were about.
I feel that it would not take much to enhance the game experience though. It mostly is fine tuning and/or rethinking small parts of the games to make it more enjoyable.
Still a nice entry
The controls are pretty rough and the mechanics are obscure to say the least. I've got to admit that I don't get the humor at all, but that might just be me. Graphics are... well it's programmer art but I can feel that an effort was made. I don't understand what dropping people on the monster is supposed to do? Some visual and audio feedback would be great to help make the game more understandble, the private jokes tend to create too much noise unfortunately.
Hey, paulloz here. Obviously graphics are awesome, the music is really nice too. I think my life changed when I started speaking to that fish. The dialogue mechanic is neat too but maybe underexploited. Overall I had a real nice moment playing this random thing and that's what's important.
Also, that ending sequence is top notch.
Nice game! Although I did not really see the relation to the theme. The atmosphere you achieved to set up here with few things is really impressing me. A little bug: when you click on the radio to cycle between stations, the click still drives the car around :stuck_out_tongue:
Wow that's a nice one. Graphics, music and sounds are nice, controls are neat. Well done!
Yaaaay, that's a nice game! I was really happy when the rhythm and the music changed, that was a good idea. Everything feels nice and polished. Next step is to make a more ambitious game I guess, because you nailed this one.
It took me some time to understand who I was, maybe add a small animation at the beginning attracting the player's attention on its mech. Controls are awkward but I totally see where you were going (and playing on my laptop trackpad is not helping me). IMHO it is a nice take on mech games which are usually quite harsh to wrap your head around. Graphics and sounds are nice too.
Had some fun playing even if it felt a little inhospitable at first
First things first: everything is really tiny on the screen, it would really be more enjoyable if everything was a bit bigger. It's a shame because your graphics are neat! The pace is a little slow indeed but not that much. Overall it's a nice entry and I had fun playing it. It would not take much to enhance it to the next level. Cheers!
That's a fun idea! Controls are a bit janky but that's part of the fun. It's quite hard to make it through the night though. Nice entry overall. Just so you know, I added your game on my [list](https://gist.github.com/paulloz/2966cb9c674146d0a1ba44899ac6ab4f) of games made with Godot for this LD. Also, I had the same issue with particles and Chrome, I'll check if it's already known and report the issue if not.
Graphics and sounds are cool. The concept is simple but everything is well done. This makes for a pretty good entry!
The music is neat but a little repetitive for me  It would have been great to find another solution to explain the controls than a big **?** menu, but for a jam game that's not a big issue. At first I thought the game was broken because the first screen I saw has half a button displayed in the upper left corner. Feedrun_2018-08-19_13-39-47.png Otherwise that's a fun game, the graphics are simple but work and who won't want to free this good boy? Kudos.
I LOVED your game, it's so nice. It feels like I could play hours. I don't have much to say, you nailed what I like :ok_hand:
It's a nice entry! It really needs a background music though, even just a free track matching a bit the art style / mood would be a great improvement. Speaking of the art style, it is really neat. Haven't found how to make Lady Marmalade yet.
The music is so chill, I kinda want to leave this open in the background. The concept is quite simple but it's quickly challenging so I had fun playing.
Cool idea, some levels were quite hard :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Your game is gorgeous, that's for sure. The music is nice too. Overall I think there's a nice atmosphere in your game. It's not a revolutionary idea but it's undeniable that it's well executed and a really neat jam entry. Like a lot of other games, I don't understand that your game menu cannot be navigated with the keyboard when the whole game controls with it.
On another note, I'm a little concerned with this changelog of yours. Sure, we'd all like to integrate all the feedback we have in the comments in our games but that's really not how the jam is supposed to work. If those were just game breaking bug fixes it'd be OK but here it seems like you're refining and polishing the game after the deadline, which feels… wrong.
Great game overall! I'm not sure I have anything really constructive to say so I'm just going to congratulate you for your game. Cheers
This was unexpected. Great game overall, very polished. The meme humor is at the same time very cringy and very funny. And I definitely didn't expect the game to transform into a manic shooter out of the blue. The end is a bit underwhelming, kind of like the computer version of "it was all a dream" but the experience was worth it nonetheless! Good job!
First of all, I liked your graphics and sound a lot. You made a cool atmosphere right there.
Now there's two options: either I did not understand something (which is reaaaaaaally possible) or I have a design issue with your game. For me, there's no way to predict what walls will *move* when I press Space (that's the part I might be wrong about, please correct me if that's the case). So you pretty much have to try out hitting space one or two times in each level to see what the *movement pattern* is, and thus failing a first time before being able to think about how to do said level. And that's a pretty weird design for a puzzle game if you ask me. But that's not something really hard to fix.
Aside from that I still had fun playing your game, it's a solid entry!
Pretty simple game but overall well done. The SFX are a bit aggressive.
Okay so that's a nice idea, I like this kind of multitasking thingy. However in the end you're only playing the ball game and just clicking whichever file seems the closest to your mouse. Maybe adding some variety in the files or some other mechanic in that part of the game would make the player strategize which file should be removed next.
I think it's a good base to iterate from and make a better game out of it. Right now it feels like a good idea which did not achieve its potential.
Nice first LD entry though, kudos!
Why is the backdoor open? It's a really dangerous way of riding a bus.
First thing I have to say: you nailed the boat engine SFX :ok_hand:
Seeing the little cover picture I launched it with an apprehension: “oh no, a game about refugees showing only white people” but I was relieved to see I was wrong. In the end I liked your game, managing resources is always fun and I don't think the boat was *that* slow. Well done. You should probably change the colors on the minimap, it got me confused at first. And add some music or some ambiance sea noises.
Maybe the next step would be to handle some kind of weather, at sea it is not always that calm.
I'd like to see where this is going if you're going to continue working on this for a bit after the jam.
P.S.: oh, and the shape of the little boat schematics in the lower right corner got me… *confused* at first.
That's a nice game, graphics and audio are nice (audio is a bit trippy though ).
That's a really solid game! Graphics, audio and gameplay mechanics are so nice  I also really like how you design your levels to introduce new mechanics step by step. Nicely done!
Neat game, I'd place the camera a little lower so we see where we're jumping. Music and graphics are nice too.
Well, there's not much to say as it's a really simple game. You could easily iterate on this one to add different kind of chromes coming in, power ups etc. Also the game lacks of impact / feedback on player actions: sounds, shakes, flashes etc.
Two small issues: sometime when you destroy a chrome the *explosion* animation does not play entirely (or at all) and the music is not looping properly, we ear the looping point.
Aside form that it's a cool little game.
Cute game, I really like the graphics. Had fun overall.
The game is gorgeous and sounds really good. Too bad there's no death animation, it's kinda frustrating. Otherwise controls are neat, you probably still can tweak them so they feel great though.
Awesome graphics and music! I found the controls a bit junky when I kept the direction pressed but that's really the only criticism I can make. I really had a great time playing. Congratulations!
I had a nice moment playing your game. Unfortunately there's not much to say about it... It is well written and restarting over and over again to try and get a higher score / read other possibilities gives a nice value to the game. Maybe the interface could be a little more elaborated (instead of just stacking the paragraphs one onto the other). Anyway, kudos!
It always blows my mind how people can spark so much tension with so little on screen. I enjoyed your game very much. A shame there isn't that many narrative games made during jams.
Sauter, miner, remonter, upgrader, sauter, miner, remonter, upgrader, patin-couffin.
Gorgeous pixel art and superb music. It was a bit hard at first but once you get the hang of it it is a damn good game. Thanks for making it.
@naamed what browser are you playing on? I haven't heard about that issue yet
@naamed oh but I checked out your game and didn't have any issue either. It's probably a cryptic issue with Godot's webassembly export, I'll dig through the issues on GitHub to see if there's something about this already known.
@cassio-eduardo Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! > I think I got hit (or died) during the shop transition and became the immortal monke (nothing did damage to me).
That's interesting, I'll look into it. There's probably an issue with the FSM not resetting properly when switching between levels. @maksime I'm happy you liked our game. > And one time I could not buy a heart upgrade and did not know the reason why
Maybe you already had the maximum number of hearts (6)? > you can always have enough money to buy the upgrades by mining the bare minimum of blocks
Yeah, I think we need to tweak item prices a bit more. Also, the crackling sound is apparently an issue that can sometimes happen with WebGL :sob:
Nice puzzle game, the mechanics are simple and the levels expertly crafted. Loved it!
That's an insane amount of work and polish for a compo game omg. Really nice entry. The beginning is a bit hard imho (that's a constant for jam games to be fair). Graphics are absolutely gorgeous, love that little pinguin dude. Thanks for the game!
This was a fun idea AND it's well executed. Solid entry overall.
I literally could play this for hours (I kinda did). Well done; well done.
Yet another proof that a simple mechanic well executed makes a good game. Had a blast playing, and I was probably way too emotionally involved into my game for my own good. I kinda want to be friend with those wiggly wizards. Keep rocking!
Really neat game, loved it. As I already said on multiple games, that's the way to go: a simple and clean idea executed perfectly. I'm not sure if I'd change anything except making more levels. Audio and graphics are :ok_hand: for the style you're going for. Everything feels like a juicy fruit of nostalgia. Well done.
The olds feels of playing WoW a long time ago :sob:. Kudos for the work.
Please, pretty please, let the player retry by mashing space instead of forcing them to grab their mouse just to click a button. I also had an issue at some point with a shark that just appeared out of nowhere (it wasn't in the background before jumping towards me). Apart from that, graphics, audio and gamefeel are quite good. You definitely knew the ambiance you were going for and achieved it. A nice simple game well executed. Kudos.
I had a real blast playing your game. It's full of good design ideas, audio and graphics are spot on, controls are just perfectly tight. Awesome. Without a doubt one of the best entries in this LDJAM. Well done and thanks for this delightful moment.
That's a nice game! I played it to the end. The music was especially nice. It'd need a bit more work to be balanced though. Through a large part of the game there's nothing preventing you from just cutting straight down, mining a lot on the way, and getting back up when you're almost out of energy. Players are lazy so if they have a boring but easy way to win, a lot of them will use it even though they're not having fun. The tutorial at the beginning was nice. Several times I tried to exit the shop menu with esc and the pause menu poped up, it felt quite weird. Cool entry overall
Hey! Nice work everybody! A classic take on the theme, nice graphics and ambiance (these little sunrays hitting from the sky feel soooooo good). The controls would need to be refined a bit, but darn it, making pleasant sidescroller/platformer controls is a hard journey in itself. Also, I sometimes had a hard time knowing if I could interact with an element or not. Anyways, keep making games :v:
Making a T-RPG during a jam can be a tough gamble (we made that exact decision some years ago, we know). In the end you pulled off a pretty solid entry, well done. The sprites are cute, I would've like to play the game in x2 or x3 to enjoy them even more.
Niiiiiiiiice! Screenshake EVERYTHING. This looks amazing. I'm a bit sad there's no music, but one can't do everything :'( Moving around feels great, exploding stuff feels great. I'm not sure if the game is hard or if I really suck, but I had a great time playing.
Nice entry overall, the 3D lowpoly style is quite beautiful and the atmosphere is :ok_hand:. There's one of two things I'd personally change. The fog thingy isn't really clear, imho it needs to scream "danger" a bit more and lacks player feedback when it lowers and when it disappears from below you. Also, it's easy to forget about the zoom ability which is actually pretty useful. Globally, I think you need to guide the player more (about the objectives, dangers, etc). But that's easily tweakable, all in all the game feels good to play and that's the hard part done. Kudos. P.S.: I started playing this on stream yesterday, here's a link if you want to check out the VOD https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006460625?t=03h09m27s
:ear: OoOooOOoooOOOoooh YEAAAAAAAH.
A cool entry, I especially liked the music. I have just an issue with the game I'd like to take 30 seconds to explain. I had a really hard time figuring out in the first level why I could dig some blocks and why I couldn't. Because I'm colour-blind (deuteranopia), I needed to squint and concentrate very hard to distinguish blocks of different colours. Because it's easier to explain with pictures: on the first image I don't see any difference in the block colours while playing, on the second image there's no issue whatsoever. firefox_YbZfG3wUDV.png firefox_A7BACjjUn5.png
Did someone say banana?   Now we want monkeys. :monkey: :monkey: :monkey:
Keep up the good work!
The pixel work and the music are really nice, the game is a bit short and lacks of a little challenge but you could easily build on this to make new levels and introduce mechanics etc. Good work altogether.
This cool probably ship tomorrow, it's kinda insane. You should teach the controls within the game at least a little imho. Apart from that I really don't have much to say. Well done.
Not much to say, everything pretty much feels right. Controls are nice and tight. Graphics are extremely cool. Even the CC music you found suits the game really well. Good work!
Working puzzle games in game jams are pretty rare. I had a great time playing this through, thanks! Next stop: MUSIC!
What can I say after spending an hour pressing every single drop of juice out of your game? Well done. Not only for making a crazy good jam entry but also one of the best platformers I played recently. Cheers.
That's a pretty cool game, had a lot of fun playing. I'd like to see more of the Duck Bros. adventures!
Had a lot of fun playing this game, well done! Last level was difficult but not in a bad way. It's a good take on real time ttrgp. :ok_hand:
Loved it! I just want to chill in my little boat and fish all day. I would have liked to get a bigger feedback when the bobble goes under the water, but apart from that it's perfect. Well done!
Nice simple game, the graphics are cute and the mechanics work. Controls could be a bit tighter, but that's a hard genre to get a great gamefeel with. The overall loop is very repetitive (especially when you have unlocked all the moves), but that could be worked on by introducing new enemies, etc. Keep going! Side note, please make the menu usable with the keyboard because if the game isn't played with the mouse it's a hassle to go grab it every time you die.
Cool graphics! A bit of a shame there isn't any more levels, and you didn't have much time to tweak the hitboxes properly. For now it's barely playable because you can't hit anybody without taking damage but once it's handled you could make a kickass dungeon crawler. Keep moving on!
Nice chill game, I like simple ideas really well executed like that. Keep it up!
Had a hard time figuring out how everything work. Once I did though, it's incredibly rewarding to balance everything and managing everybody like a well oiled engine. Good work!
Such a cool game, thanks for submitting it. Lovely graphics and nice music too. Felt so personal, keep making games. Kudos.
Definitely one of the best games from this LDJAM. Loved everything from the graphics to the music and storytelling. The controls are exactly what they should be imho. I love that the game is probably as enjoyable to people who will speedrun the hell out of it as to people who will casually go around obstacles. Really well done :muscle:
Cool and chill game, audio and graphics are totally on point. Kudos, I could probably play that for hours. Really relaxing. Thanks!
:rabbit: Great game but it's just frying my brain out, I'm not made for this kind of stuff :sob:
We played your game on stream yesterday, here's the VOD if you want to have a look  https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004121404?t=00h13m32s
Cool game, the controls were a bit weird for me as the directions are oriented statically and not towards where you look. But apart from that, a solid jam entry. Keep making games!
:mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom:
I love mushrooms. I love grappling hook games. Without realizing it you made a game exactly for me. Loved it, great work!
Cool game! Making balanced management games in a small amount of time is tough tho. Kudos.
Edit from the future: We played your game on stream, here's a link to the VOD if you want to have a look  https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004121404?t=00h35m07s
Nice work, especially for a compo game! The controls are extremely pleasing, and the overall experience is enjoyable. Somewhat lacks of challenge though. Also, I felt like the speed of the scrolling was maybe a little slow because I was almost always near the very bottom
A solid entry overall, nice graphics and music. A simple mechanic well executed, that's how you should always scope your jam games. Good work!
Hey, I tried to play but had a weird bug where the spaceship keeps rotating like if the button was pressed (while it's not). Do @ me if you find a solution for this, and I'll be happy to try it again.
Love to see that kind of games in jams more and more! Graphics and music are 100% on point, you definitely knew what you wanted to go for and went for it. Perfect! Can't wait to see more of what you'll be doing in the future.
Super simple game but it's a big achievement for a first gamejam. Keep going!

Nice game! The graphics are cool and the background music is a definitive banger imho. You absolutely nailed the overall ambiance you were going for. Controls are fine but for that kind of difficult platformer I'd really expect them to be airtight, and sadly they're not. I'd like to be able to stand on top of ladders instead of falling right through them. Having to mash the jump button to un-petrify means that if you're on a rope or a ladder you're probably going to mash to many times, jump and fall to your death. Having to jump down to meet your faith at the end of the levels is also very scary as it means you're going to die everywhere else in the game. All in all, it's a great jam entry. I'd be happy to play a more finely tuned version of it in the future though.
Nice entry. You did a good job of integrating every asset into a game that feel like a whole. The gamefeel needs to be tweaked a bit here and there: jumping with something else than the up key, the jump height is a bit short etc. And of course, the difficulty curve can be a bit ridiculous but in the end it's a pleasure to play. Kudos.
I'm always amazed at people capable of designing enjoyable puzzles. That's a really solid jam entry. Graphics are especially impressive for the timeframe imho. Kudos.
Nice game idea, I like the basic concept. Graphics are cute and the audio fits the ambiance. I have some issues with readability (greyish-brown hazards on greyish-brown background don't stand out enough for me), and platforming (controls aren't tight enough for a platformer: the jump isn't particularly enjoyable, pressing E while moving makes you glide along the floor, etc.). Good work overall, that's a cool jam entry that could be cleaned-up easily in the future.
