I like the mechanic and the engine seems good. I think its worth putting more levels into. I would definitely play through if you do! Good job!
I liked the style a lot, especially the missile targeting. The AI could use some work but I really liked everything else in the game.
I liked it a lot, it was pretty difficult. I think with a little balancing to make it a bit easier would make it a really cool game. I spent a lot of time in the game breeding the same two just hoping to get one that would survive.
Got up to wave 100 and thousands of objects on screen. I know I could have wiped the screen but that seemed like a waste of good archers, I had the robots and stuff but the archers were still running around. Pretty fun game, good job!
It was pretty hard but a good entry.
I'm glad people thought it was funny, thats pretty much all I was going for, I didn't have a lot of time and I am not very good with stencyl. I was using it so I wouldnt have to do as much typing because my wrists are kind of messed up at the moment.
There is a lot that would have made it better. It was really a time thing. I had to work most of the weekend so I only got about 8 good hours to work on it, and about half of that was making the sprite (I'm really bad at art, it takes me forever). I was using stencyl because my wrists have been injured recently and it requires less typing but sometimes stencyl requires some serious trickery to get things to work, if you look at the source there are some pretty dirty hacks that are required to make the game work and I don't know how or why.
I liked it a lot. I will have to bookmark it for when I have people over. The style was really cool.
Awesome game, I love the sound effects!
I like the skull guys pleas of "Stop it" and "ouuuch".
This game asks all the important questions.
The graphics are wonderful, I would like to see all of the evolutions, maybe once I am done playing through all these submissions I will come back to it.
But I love tomatoes!
I really liked the music combined with the visuals. The mood was really good.
I liked the idea and the art a lot. It was pretty difficult to dodge those arrows though.
lol yeah I was a bit indecisive. I learned a lot about stencyl working on this game. I think I probably stuck a bit too much local Texas stuff in there, people from everywhere else probably won't get the references. Just take my word that Governor Rick Perry is kind of an asshole.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm glad you liked it!
Awesome
Good game, pretty difficult. Protip: if you walk through a door at the same time as an enemy you can room swap without getting caught.
Yep Romney sure is a jerk
Aside from the bugs, I thought the level design was really interesting. It would have been cool to see more puzzles in the game.
@Shigor: the idea is that its kind of like playing chicken. The longer you wait to attack the more damage you do. If both players just spam the buttons it takes a long time to play, but if you wait your attacks become much more effective. I probably should have made the attack counter increase faster over time so that players would have more of a reason to wait.
Either way, definitely takes two players to work.
Thanks for the comments!
@goerp, my previous entries are just as dumb. Also I am surprised people like the music, I did that in like 15 minutes. Thanks
@pansapiens I got the game mechanic idea from one of anna anthropy's games called mind fuck (which she says is based on a game called mind chess).
I like it, it gets pretty difficult very fast though. I was wondering what your personal high score is?
Its a cool idea. I would like to play some more if you get it running faster.
I like it, though its really difficult. I watched you make the game for the last 6 hours or so while I was working on my game. Did you consider making the jump button just right mouse instead of right mouse and up? I feel like that would make it a lot easier.
HUUUAGH! FIGHT IT OUT!
I love the audio. The music is great, and the snake sound effect made me laugh every time. Bowowowowng!
I ended up with only about an hour and a half to make the level that is in the game. There is a lot I plan on doing differently for a full release. I think making the level a lot more large and open would help a lot with the game being overwhelmingly fast paced.
lol thanks, I will try to let people know when it drops. Its planned to be on newgrounds so you will see it there. I fixed that bug, I can't believe I didn't see that before. I made a change to display the mission success text and I think that broke it.
Those are both suggestions that will definitely go in the game.
The game doesn't start at all for me.
Windows 7 64 bit
Aagh the ending!! This was wonderful, by far it was the most time I have spent playing a jam game. The puzzle design was very well done. Being able to instantly jump between rooms would help a lot, it was frustrating to run all the way back, activate the sequence and realize I had forgotten one thing and had to do it all over again. Also it would be nice to be able to swap an item in the hand with one on the shelf instead of having to go to another room to find a place to set something down.
Still this game was incredible, I am very impressed and had a lot of fun with it.
All this game needs is a button to end the 10 seconds immediately. The level design was good but it almost never took 10 entire seconds to get in position for the next rotation so most of the game was spent waiting around. And that makes dying really frustrating because you have to spend another 40 seconds or so just waiting.
Yeah cant run it either
I love those characters, great writing and the art is amazing.
Some audio feedback would be nice. Just a simple countdown would let you know how much time you had left so you could focus on the reports and time the launch.
Cool idea though and well executed.
What did I just play?
Also using the urinal and holding down click gives you infinite points.
This is one of a lot of games I have seen for this jam in which I think the 10 second theme actually detracts from the gameplay. I like the idea but I think the time limit and the lack of any explanation makes it really difficult to understand whats happening. I would like to play a post-jam version without the time limit and maybe text explaining what all the attacks do, and what the enemy is doing.
That was really awesome. Played to the end. The art was incredible!
First place for music, hands down.
Oh wow this is really cool and ambitious for a jam. You should work this code into a starter kit, I would absolutely love to make adventure games in PlayCanvas!
Played once without realizing I could move around. Needless to say it was a lot easier the second time. I like the cannonball physics. Its cool that you can get a breakout style combo if you aim it right.
I'm glad to hear that people are having fun with it. I'll try to expand on it and get it to an actual release.
First time I have done THAT in a game
Yeah I discovered that I made it too hard at the end but the time limit got me before I could fix it.
Game jam techniques at their finest
Mac and Linux are coming I promise, I was going to do it tonight but forgot that I didn't have the unity packages installed to I have to re install unity :(
I know its the jam and rules are less strict than compo but using that much asset store stuff feels really against the spirit of the jam.
Oh yeah and I didn't care about the theme, I just wanted to make a dungeon crawl. The theme was actually good this time but I didn't use it at all.
