fantastic atmosphere!
Not really challenging but captivating. Took me a while...
Amazing game with very deep meaning, and an incredible mood, very good job guys, this is a gem!
This took me a few minutes to figure out. Once I figured out how to reach the next level I made good progress, but near the end it seemed I was going in a loop. It would be good to have a level or turn indicator to see where I'm at. Or maybe that's part of the puzzle too? Anyway I love the music and atmosphere of this game. Good job folks.
relaxing
Relaxing, confusing at first but you get the hang of it. Love the art style, great work!
thank you for your feedback, guys :)
really cool atmosphere as mentioned in the other comments, took me a couple moments to figure it out but once you get it's actually really smart. nice work
Very immersive! I love this kind of games. The sound, the graphics, the storytelling, the mechanics... it's all great, even though the loss mechanic can be frustrating until you understand how it's useful. Only criticism, you can make one last move when the time hits 0 but it can't make you win. It feels weird.
Very relaxing game, I loved the mood of it. I was confused by the tutorial at first and didn't understand what was happening because I would just press space over and over when it says press space. Once I understood the game it was fun and I loved the style
Very unique attempt to make game in theme but it is a greatful attempt. You did such a good work, game is logically ideal, has good graphics and audio. I wanted to say something more but I haven't any more words than fantastic job! Good luck!
Hey guys, great job on your game I LOVED the mood in this it's so perfect you guys really nailed it home on the mood for this game. I wish the tutorial was a bit more clear, I spent a good couple minutes just pressing the space bar and "failing" the level because I didnt realize what I was doing and I also didn't even realize that I had failed the second level where the game is supposed to show you what the space bar does. Other than that a small completely subjective thing i'd like to comment is I really disliked the levels where the key to solving the puzzles were to not move at all, kinda defeats the purpose of having a game as fun as yours where a quarter of the levels don't actually let me move around the board. Other than that I thought your game was really unique and a good time to play. Would've liked the option to turn down the volume a bit though, but I understand if you guys didn't have time to setting something like that up. Cheers guys!
Very relaxing and atmospheric game :) . It's a shame that there are not more levels ;) I especially like how the day/night theme plays into the time theme and makes the game even moodier. Also, the titles for each level are quite cool and fitting. Very good! :)
Nice game, the music really sells the atmosphere. But Iit would be better, if you fail, the level restarts and not one level back
The art style is amazing ! The concept is really good I like it and the atmosphere is great. Good job !
I find it a bit frustrating though that you have to get back to the previous "level" when you failed one. Of course for some of them it's necessary but for the others it's a bit annoying. Since this game is mostly base on luck (sonce you don't know in advance what will be the spacebar effect), I would have prefered to start over only the current level (when the level is possible of course).
First of all, I liked your graphics and sound a lot. You made a cool atmosphere right there.
Now there's two options: either I did not understand something (which is reaaaaaaally possible) or I have a design issue with your game. For me, there's no way to predict what walls will *move* when I press Space (that's the part I might be wrong about, please correct me if that's the case). So you pretty much have to try out hitting space one or two times in each level to see what the *movement pattern* is, and thus failing a first time before being able to think about how to do said level. And that's a pretty weird design for a puzzle game if you ask me. But that's not something really hard to fix.
Aside from that I still had fun playing your game, it's a solid entry!
Really nice atmosphere, the writing was fantastic.
I'm not gonna echo the complaints of the other people here, I'm sure you already know from them that restarting a level back and being unable to see in advance what walls were going to swap was frustrating. It was cool to see the different branching paths though, especially how they interacted with the poem, changing it slightly depending on your route. More stuff with that would have been cool.
Other than that, generally a solid entry. Well done!
Nice concept, took a while to catch on to the mechanics. A short description would help with this. However, its really enjoyable game. Could see myself playing this on the cellphone for a few hours.
That being said I do agree that there is no way to predict wall changes. This is something that could be nice to have. As the current state is random guessing.
I like the story in this game. So mystical!
Elegant puzzle. Stylistics I really liked. Also, building levels is just as good and interesting. On the phone, I would play it for a week !!
Very atmospheric game! The art, music and sound of the hourglass sliding all worked together perfectly!
A way to see what SPACEBAR would do to the level would've been nice - that would make it a bit more puzzly and less trial-and-error.
Amazing game, so deep, the ambient sound and the music, the art... loved every bit. Thanks for this masterpiece.
Neat visuals and mood, clever mechanics (though it took me a bit to figure them out) and a nice soundtrack make this worth your while. But I don't see the point in sending you back to an already cleared level when you fail. That just stretches the playtime artificially.
really nice game! love to see games like this made for the ludum! the art is beautiful and the puzzles are great, but i wonder if failure has to take you back to the previous level? i think being trapped on the same level when you fail feels more thematically in check and is not as punishing? but i dont know, obviously it's your game lol. great stuff tho i really like it, probably my fav so far!
sorry lol i also just wanna say i love when games tell stories through their mechanics and this game did that really well!
Hi everyone, thank you so much for your comments so far! Your support is comforting! :)
Wow, the atmosphere and audio were absolutely incredible! I had a few gripes with the gameplay, because just random guessing and then remembering the positions of the walls AFTER failing doesn't make for a good puzzle mechanic. Failing returns you to the previous level, and I found this really unconventional, in a good way. Then I realized how it tied in with the backtracking, so that was really cool. Although with no system to keep track of the various paths...I'm really thankful that each wrong path got blocked off with 1 level only and had no further branching, otherwise it'd have been a nightmare to search for the correct path.
This is probably one of my favorite games this LD.
Very haunting and challenging.
A bit overpunishing to send you back a level when you fail one, and that takes away the chance to let players learn from their mistake. Maybe if someone fails twice then you send them back a level, I think thats more forgiving for errors. Otherwise, loved the storytelling, youve succesfully created a very immersive environment and there is the player and your story. Well done.
The art, music and the overall atmosphere are stunning. It's mesmerizing :) I didn't quite get the sand consumption mechanic though and in the end, it seemed like a trial and error one while I was expecting something more logical. A nice little puzzle game anyway, congrats!
Great concept, But it took me a while to grasp the concept of the game. It felt really hit and miss about how you completed the objective at first, but when I got what I had to do and how to do it, the game got better. Visuals were stunning, but the audio, while being great, got repetitive. Good job
