LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

(Not So) Secluded Tower by studdert249 2015-12-29T11:15:00

Thank you everyone for the kind and constructive feedback it reinforces my internal 'conflict', perhaps a little strong a word but there you have it, about my attempted scope for the project which caused a lack of variety

@Andy Gainey, little light on the strategy side, more of a how many can you get rid of before being overwhelmed, (I feel there should be a pun here referencing the previous paragraph), mana regenerates at a set rate but I feel your idea of a boost would be a welcome addition to the game if I ever decide to revisit it

(Not So) Secluded Tower by studdert249 2016-01-02T12:34:00

@Simonaiso, I feel the exact same way in all honesty. And the wizard is facing the opposite way as these people are disturbing him at home, selling their snake oils and preaching their religion, when all he wants to do are wizard things.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Widget Workshop by recursor 2016-04-19T12:08:00

Quite a neat little game, with a lot of potential for more puzzles!

Panzerantix by CptDustmite 2016-04-18T05:25:00

Nice little puzzle game, loved the colour palette, like many other commenters, have said. But, like many of these people, it could have been a touch faster for the travel time between the tiles.

Great work!

Shapeshifter by TideS 2016-04-18T11:10:00

Loved the mood in this piece! Nice work!

The Core by Syldarion 2016-04-19T23:35:00

Nice little platformer, with a lot of stuff to do for such a short time!

Thought the controls felt a little off, the jump was a little too floaty, maybe reducing the time to the apex would help and I had a few issues sliding off the platforms after I had stopped pressing the a or d keys.

Swine Fortress: Bacons On Strike! by One Seed Fruit 2016-04-19T06:52:00

An interesting idea, had fun with it once I worked out how to properly use the controls, but that was probably my terrible reading comprehension in all honesty...

Shamanic Panic by panurge 2016-04-19T11:15:00

I hope I wasn't the only one that deliberately died so they could hear the death sound again...

Really enjoyed the dialogue and the music had me wanting to stay in the level a little longer so the song would continue on.

My only criticism would be the controls, I found many times I would go to hit space to jump and find myself falling and turning into pink squares.

Xenoshift by meek 2016-04-19T22:56:00

Music created a tense mood as you stumble around almost blindly trying to find the alien and inadvertently get your face ripped off a few times in the process.

I enjoyed the game overall, though I felt that it may have made the game a little easier if you had a chance to shoot the alien when it charged at you, even if it was a slim one.

Transformagician by HuvaaKoodia 2016-04-18T10:45:00

Loved the art style and enjoyed the music a lot.

Nice work!

Aeroteque by dustyroom 2016-04-26T07:30:00

Cool use of the theme and the pastel art colours were great. Admittedly I kept just wanting to play so I could hear more of the backing track, which I loved.

CHORUS by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2016-04-19T11:35:00

Nice little rhythm game, got a little hectic in parts on hard, but in a good way. Only criticism that I have is that the chorus overlay felt like it obscured the view of the shapes a little too much making it somewhat difficult to keep up.

And my score was: 35628

Shifty the Spellthief by vethan 2016-04-19T12:26:00

Loved the music and the art style nice work!

Copy-Paste by nicoplv 2016-04-20T07:52:00

Loved the eyes being drawn on everything when shapeshifted, nice little game, I had fun with it.

Listen and Shift by Goutye 2016-04-20T00:49:00

Nice effort for 24 hours!

Once I worked out that you had to give a little time between key presses I enjoyed the game quite a bit.

Final score was 1815880

Mushroom Muncher by Kuality Games 2016-04-20T08:40:00

Fantastic art for the length of the jam!

Sculpt Master by LimeniusTeam 2016-04-19T08:23:00

The lack of instructions held the game back a little, but once the learning curve had passed, it was a fun little puzzle game and had me going through the levels again until I completed it.

Nice work.

Cavern of Flight by Hempuli 2016-04-24T00:04:00

Love the silhouette art style and the soundtrack added a lot to the atmosphere

Spaceshape by Saymon 2016-04-18T12:01:00

Always been a fan of Tetris games, though the combat phase was a little obscure.

A Slimy Fellow by Ourson 2016-04-18T11:36:00

Really enjoyed the feeding to shapeshift mechanic!

V for Virus by fafastudio 2016-04-19T11:43:00

Love the music and the transition to new forms upon death!

Did think that the game was bugging out for me on the menu though, not having the buttons able to be mouse clicked was a little confusing

Trionic by djfariel 2016-04-21T07:51:00

Loved the music and art. Solid game nice work!

SUBJECT 26 by MSiddeek 2016-04-26T07:17:00

A well-crafted experience, one of my favourite, if not the favourite game I have played from this Ludum Dare

Death has many Forms by Chikoness 2016-04-19T07:34:00

I enjoyed the game overall, especially the music and art, but the controls in the description seem to be wrong, I was shape shifting on pressing shift, not control.

The Alchemist Oblivion by nlbi21 2016-04-20T08:45:00

Music is nice and controlling the elemental felt good, but having the camera stuck to the alchemist and having to control them as well felt quite janky.

Ghost Bird by torcado 2016-04-24T00:03:00

Nice little platformer, especially liked the triangle effect and the little death animation.

Starship Janitor by studdert249 2016-04-20T01:39:00

Thanks for the support and great feedback so far!

@Drusilla, thanks for the heads up I will go and fix that bug, since collecting all of the enemies is sort of the point of the game having some that cannot sort of breaks it...

The Vaultshifter by ohmaigawd 2016-04-19T23:54:00

nice little point and click game, I enjoyed the art style a lot

A Sum Of All Parts by MattWoelk 2016-04-22T12:17:00

An interesting take on the shapeshift theme and the voice acting was well done.

TerraShift by Leon Möhring 2016-04-24T06:25:00

Great work! A well fleshed out concept for the allotted time and easily understood even without reading the simulation rules until after I finished a playthrough, deliberately mind you, I wanted to enjoy the game, not try meta-game so to speak.

The only thing I could think to add would be a counter for the number of houses you currently have and more days so I can keep enjoying expanding my village!

Shifty the Keyboard Key by Drenghel 2016-04-18T11:52:00

Grats on finishing your first game! Hopefully, you had a great time!

Nice simple little game, was fun!

GeoShift by WASD 2016-04-20T08:57:00

The idea, music, and art looked really nice! And I liked how the time changing mechanic worked with the music, but the constant shifting between the different worlds was a bit hard on the eyes

Shaman Hiccuping by clementd 2016-04-26T07:21:00

Interesting spin on the theme. The art and music were both really well done! Though I found the controls a little 'floaty' if you will

RhythmicalCreation by lycoris102 2016-04-20T07:36:00

Nice little rhythm game, loved the music.

Oops! My Dear is a Deer by Remdiky 2016-04-19T08:09:00

First run through, take 1 shot find the girl. Second run through, many shots were fired no girl was found, but fun was had and is that not the main point?

Though I did find it a little weird how the game would only run on my second monitor.

TriTurn by Kifuga 2016-04-19T10:52:00

Love the simple idea, had a just one more quality to it. Loved the music and the simple art design led to the game being very clear.

My only nit pick would be the controls, I was having an issue with accidentally clicking the right mouse button while dragging, leading to losing control of the shape and creating a triangle where I should have easily removed one.

Mutant Chicken Death Jam by norseware 2016-04-19T23:17:00

Nice little jam entry, solid twin stick shooter!

My only criticism was that the mutation / shapeshift always seemed to come up at a time where it was not useful

Escape from the pit! by Been 2016-04-18T12:08:00

Liked the pace that you introduced the mechanics into the game, gave just the right amount of time to work out the tools you had to beat the boss.

Trisquircle by Ayawaska 2016-04-21T06:04:00

Nice little game, though quite disorienting. I seem to be able to still the outline of the triangles, was good fun!

Black Heart by luquio 2016-04-26T07:00:00

I enjoyed the minimalistic art style and the music a lot. Though the flashing lights part way in really threw me off

PsychoShift by Ratmena 2016-04-18T11:45:00

Took a little while to work out the controls and switch to the sphere mid jump felt a little funny, for lack of a better word.

On the other hand, the music is great and the cardboard box cut out look of the level was even better!

Robot Snake by eduardogacn 2016-04-24T06:12:00

Nice little puzzle game, with a well thought out mechanic. The only thing that would have made it better would have been more levels! (But saying that time restrictions will be time restrictions)

The Elemental by Zormon 2016-04-19T11:52:00

Music and the purple palette gave the game a sense of loneliness in a world that I would have liked to explore a bit more. But as others have said the walk back after dying is a bit on the extreme side.

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Map The Stars by vitineth 2016-09-01T06:51:00

I love games like this and enjoyed my time finding my way through the puzzles. The scene renders added a lot in terms of navigation about the game as well as adding a lot of flavour.

I did have a couple of instances where I got stuck trying to find what I was doing, for example when placing the lenses in the device it took me a little while to realise that I was carrying all three.

Emily Morrison's Garden by Ludipe 2016-08-29T23:07:00

Art style is fantastic and the sundial to track the progress of the season is a great touch. Balancing the cultivation of seeds with the planting of them for continued survival makes for fun gameplay especially as your seed count base gets higher and that little bar just keeps ticking down.

Of Health and Madness by studdert249 2016-08-31T07:40:00

Thank you all for the feedback so far I'm glad you all enjoyed your time with the game!

@tintreas should be fixed now apparently my itch page said it uploaded correctly where it was actually lying to me sorry about that :(

USADD by alexv 2016-08-29T10:06:00

I never thought I would say the words did that dinosaur just throw up a sword but here we are.

While the platforming felt a little to floaty for my liking and the music became a little repeditive the simple but effective combat made up for that in spades, I would have happily played the game were it just dino after dino.

Punching dinosaurs is carthartic, who knew?

I Shall Duel Thee At Dawn by rexx1888 2016-08-29T07:47:00

Blurry graphics aside, since others have already commented on this. I found the idea of two players sharing the same keyboard with no separation of sides a little off.

The music, though, I felt it was the standout feature by far. I even caught myself listening to the intro track a couple of times.

The great catapult war by JK5000 2016-08-29T08:12:00

After I got the game running (windows 10 wanted to block it on me for some reason...) I found it quite fun if a little slow, the long delay between turns was probably the main culprit and the voiceover sounds got quite a few laughs from me.

The Switch - Worker by Ghen 2016-08-29T11:09:00

Nice simple little game, especially when I found that you could just press the button down the bottom to reset... apparently I am a little slow...

I found that later in the game that the timer had reduced to a point where I could not get the switches to the correct board in time.

The Eating Machine by ValiaP 2016-08-29T08:27:00

Once I felt I got a grip with the controls, less grip more shall we say feathers touch and got my Misophonia from the eating sound in check I can say that I quite enjoyed the game and how you succeeded in creating controls that were both quite simple and complex all at the same time.

Homecoming by adaFish 2016-08-31T08:07:00

Nice experience, the music on the cassette really helped to solidify the mood. I liked the short story that you put together and was interested in seeing where it could go from there.

Did find the dropping controls a little finicky and had one of the items fall in such a way that it got stuck under the bed, but overall I had fun with the game.

My favourite part by far would have to be the dad joke!

Before You Die by muit 2016-08-29T10:19:00

Nice smooth character movement and I quite liked the simple aesthetic, especially the rain of cubes in the center pergola. Though there were a few times that I died and did not even realise that there was anything damaging me. Perhaps some kind of feedback flash or sound would help out in that area?

Music was great I found myself just sitting in the main menu specifically so I could just hear the rest of the song

Blunderbuss by Steven Miller 2016-08-29T09:33:00

I had a few issues with the running of this title on both of the downloads supplied

- The menu items were detecting mouse over much higher than their position
- The character would randomly stop accepting input, outside of following the mouse cursor
- After these freezes, the character would run in a random direction until another input was registered
- Possibly unrelated - For some reason my desktop background was removed each time I quit the game, just thought it was interesting...

From what I got to play of the game I enjoyed it, especially the opening dialogue sequence and the smoke effect. The central mechanic seems quite interesting and would like to explore it more if I can get the game to work.

Leonardo's Painting Machine by Frozen Fractal 2016-08-29T11:37:00

Such a well implemented and polished mechanic, though part of me wishes that there was an erase all button for the placed holes for the many times I reset my progress on the puzzles

Archio by Capt Nemo 2016-08-29T07:39:00

If you were going for something completely alien and unknowable then I believe you have met your target well and I found myself suitably intrigued.

The alien alphabet and music really added to the mystery and I found myself just flinging cubes at random in the hope that I could figure it all out.

The answer still eludes me.

LD37 — One room

Tangent by rxi 2016-12-19T10:09:00

Platforming controls felt tight and the difficulty curve was well thought through.

The 5th Room by ahmedmohi 2016-12-19T10:31:00

The game looked really nice and the music created a great mood, though everything about the movement felt floaty and because of that, I found it hard to keep the interactable objects within interaction range.

Outside of that though it was a nice little experience with an interesting story

Ask Her by Sorak86 2016-12-19T10:21:00

Nice little narrative, I don't want to say too much because well you know spoilers and all that, but I did enjoy my time with your game.

Had a little issue where sometimes when pressing delete once two of the letters were deleted.

I was a little disappointed that my face was the option that did not work!

IG/IRL by Aun 2016-12-20T08:46:00

Nice little concept, though I feel like a few more asteroids to dodge would help create more tension

Ludum Dare: The Game by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2016-12-19T09:40:00

Now I'm not sure if I need to go through and get scores on the game I made as I successfully completed an MMORTSRPG.

The game itself is well done, especially the audio. The little popup events were a good addition to the game to break up the periods of waiting and you really did well invoking the feeling of a Ludum Dare, especially the theme selection part!

One room Ninja by indrkl 2016-12-20T08:59:00

A fun little game, I quite enjoyed the tutorial levels building up the level. Though, as others have said the controls felt a little off and having w as the jump key felt a little awkward to me.
