i like the figth system and the music. good job !

Punched a velociraptor with a sword to death. GotY 2016.

Real talk: Not going to win any awards for innovation, but a surprisingly solid set of mechanics. Fighting dinos worked great, platforming was too floaty. Signs with arrows maybe not the next big thing in level design, but fuck it. 48 hours.

Loved it. It needs explosions, references to freedom, American flags and heavy metal music. Amazing work!

ghen 2016-08-29 09:18

serious question here...how much of a badass you are that you can bare punch a dinosaur? :D
solid game, smoot gameplay, and everything works well, the jump a bit floaty , but anything else is reponsive and nice to play
awesome entry! :D

As much as I love the concept and the mechanics, the camera while jumping is just too annoying, you can't see where you're going most of the time. And I got that darn song stuck in my head now.

Good job!

that is a badass female protagonist usually men use guns and stuff but she just bunched the s#!t out of dinosauruses i really like the art second dinosaurus was weird why does he turn away in the middle of a fight and .....third dinosaurus like what dinosaurus with a sword :D i guess you ran out of time anyway its an awsome game solid 7/10

burnedkirby 2016-08-29 10:04

Reached a ledge that you could barely jump onto, but when I jumped to it, I got stuck in the dinosaur that was on that ledge and died a slow death.

Tried again and made it to the end. Didn't realize the gun could run out of ammo until the boss fight. Barely made it.

Neat game. Jumps are scary as the entire screen moves with you and doesn't display much below you.

I never thought I would say the words did that dinosaur just throw up a sword but here we are.

While the platforming felt a little to floaty for my liking and the music became a little repeditive the simple but effective combat made up for that in spades, I would have happily played the game were it just dino after dino.

Punching dinosaurs is carthartic, who knew?

amras0000 2016-08-29 11:16

First off, really liking the combat. Each dinosaur type has a different strategy you have to use. The platforming isn't exceptional and didn't seem to add much at first, but it did give the combat a sense of pacing and purpose, and let me skip battles if I was quick enough.

All around I enjoyed this title. It's quick enough that any issues with mechanics don't have time to get grating. There's just enough enemies that by the time I got bored of punching dinosaurs I had a gun, and by the time I got bored of shooting things I had a boss.

Nice work.

P.S. - The contact button doesn't work, at least through wine.

Thanks for the overall positive feedback, really appriciated. The platforming is a mess, but I'm glad you enjoyed the combat.

@armas0000 I didn't have time to implement the contact thing, the deadline was near and I really needed some sleep. Forgot to remove the text

@burnedkirby Thanks for playing through the entire game! I know there are a lot of issues with the collisions :/ I'll be definitely working on that if I ever revisit this game

It has great combat system, with 3 combo where the kick is the strongest also the multiplier based on time that increase the power I think.

The gravity is too low I think, where jumping take so long in the air. Also sometimes I got stuck between 2 dinosaurs and the "totem" which I can't do anything but keep getiing hit by enemies :(

Other problem is, when I spam it to shoot and Sticky Keys appear because I hit SHIFT key 5 time, :D

But after all, it's a great job... :)

Can say I really had fun! Having a story and character made the experience most enjoyable. Only improvement I can suggest is a more zoomed out camera. Most of the time I was guess where I'd fall. Great job!

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

alexv 2016-08-30 12:30

@steph88 Sure, I uploaded it to your site, have fun

jupiter_hadley 2016-09-11 20:17

Nice dinos! I included it in my compilation video series of Ludum Dare 36, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ZcipQ8HIrLI
