Interesting story, I was a bit frustrated at times with the parser not accepting certain things but the ending was worth it. :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD37 → Ask Her

the itch.io link doesn't work :/ 404 not found
I played this quite a while now, not being able to get any further. I really want to know what happened, but I am stuck.
Apart from that: I love the idea and what you have come up with. The background image and the music underlay the well-written story very well. A shame I don't get to play the end D:
Nicely done. I didn't find the ending... I like the use of photos w different emotions. And liked your use of 'interactive fiction' for this.
Hi guys, thx for commenting! :)
If any of you want to know the key questions you can ask, I can link you to a document containing the recognized words. Or I could just hint you and give u a couple key words. Your call, just tell me if you want to!
Web not working...
Hm... ok sorry, I will fix it asap. It worked for me when I uploaded it : /
Although I got to the ending, there are still a few things unclear to me. Can't really ask about them here though due to potential spoilers but if you can put a text doc online at some point giving the basic story that would be great!
Anyway, nice idea and a not-too-annoying text parser, which is a win. Nice one.
Thank you for adding the spoiler as I was stuck. The game was really moving, even though I was not able to complete it by myself. I think it would have been even more intense if I would have been able to finish it by myself, but still.
Excellent game.
Thanks a lot! :)
Wow, that got weird, really intriguing story, don't want to make much comments so I don't spoil anything.
When the game starts, maybe any key should start it, since I just clicked/pressed some keys and nothing happened.
Great narrative you got going!
Interesting and well made. Still trying to figure out how to say to get to the ending, but it's funny she sometimes catches on bad words.
Haha, yeah, gotta catch those nasty words you know.
If you give up or just wanna check the plot, you can check it at the description link, but it kinda spoils the experience of finding out by yourself!
I liked the idea a lot, great job! I would have probably taken much more time without the keywords, and as long as I didn't scroll ahead I found what I needed.
Excellent game!
The reactions to the various words and themes were spot on, and worked really well to discover which parts of the narrative would move the story forward.
The parser also worked really well! I only got confused on one point, where I tried to ask her about her age, but both "my age" and "your age" resulted in her talking about my age.
The art and chosen music made for a very effective mood. All in all, this was a very interesting (and sad) game!
Nice little narrative, I don't want to say too much because well you know spoilers and all that, but I did enjoy my time with your game.
Had a little issue where sometimes when pressing delete once two of the letters were deleted.
I was a little disappointed that my face was the option that did not work!
It was quite difficult to find the keywords that trigger a new sequence (thanks for the solutions). Also it would be nice to be able to skip a sequence should you trigger the same one twice.
The game sets a really nice mood and it's interesting to talk with her.
Woooow, this is so heeeavy in the end. I had a great time figuring it out for myself, and then getting totally shocked :D It's a very innovative interpratation of the "one room" theme. Moreover, you've done a great work with graphics: while eliminating the need for pixel art or modeling, you've still managed to generate empathy and make visuals go along with narrative. So, good work! I liked it very much :)
Well developed story but i would have preferred a more friendly plot to tell you the truth. There was something scary from the beginning but the ending was really unexpected.
Of course i needed the keywrods
Liked the interactive fiction approach. Something different.
loved the game. It did take a dark turn pretty fast though. You're like "I'm just chatting with this girl" and then you realize what your situation actually is...
I really like the idea of telling a story with the photos. Started by using sentences but nothing was reconised, so I just used a single word which seemed to work.
Well... That ending...
...
Excellent story telling. Well done. 5 stars.
i thought this was really interesting, but I dont know if I ever would have found the end without looking at your spoiler document.
Cool idea, it's an interesting take on text adventures.
Very interesting concept! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/9xy3qMJx7GQ
