LD26 — Minimalism

Undercolor Agents by farmergnome 2013-04-30T16:11:00

Great game, I have to play this with some friends.

Gimme back my keys by pinkmonkeyhead 2013-04-30T17:54:00

Great game, I saw some screens you posted during the compo and I really wanted to play it.

WhiteSpace by argo15 2013-04-29T08:02:00

Very fun! Although I found it frustating sometimes but I guess that's the point. I'll play again :)

Friendship in a Post-Apocalyptic World by marnaouf 2013-04-30T16:22:00

Nice game, I liked the story and the gameplay. It'd be fun to play it with another friend, shouting things like:"C'mon keep diggin!","No way, I got all the zombies, your turn to dig!".

DE-REZZED: Survival by playvue 2013-05-05T18:50:00

I love tron-inspired games! This one is quite fun, I experienced some bugs but it's still fun.

P.D.: In my opinion it'd be better if the player and the enemies were faster.

Freedom by orangepascal 2013-04-29T07:44:00

Very nice, too short but very nice. The cat is the key to everything O.O

Mix by Leebo86 2013-04-29T07:54:00

Simple but fun, it'd be nice to play it on a touch device.

I was doing well until I missed a square and then I got nervous and missed many shapes. The first run I completely forgot about color matching.

Pixel Ninja by Nsmurf 2013-04-29T21:41:00

Very entertaining, I can't get bored with this simple platformers. And the map was huge, I got lost a few times >.<

A by infernet89 2013-04-29T07:36:00

Wow, great game and I really love when you don't get any instructions and have to figure it out by yourself. I played the game twice and once you complete the arkanoid stage it looks like you have to play pong but I couldn't play it because the other bar lost everytime before giving me the chance to do anything.

Nine Tails by dualtagh 2013-04-29T21:58:00

I played this game and the first time I killed the cat I was like:"No way he did this" xD

Really fun but I feel sorry for the kittens :(

All Fall Down by lambomang 2013-04-29T09:40:00

Great game! Very artistic, I felt like I was watching some kind of animated film and the music was really good. The only thing I'd change is the camera, a bit too high for my taste, couldn't see where I was going when jumping from a high point.

Less is More by Joror 2013-04-30T16:07:00

I thought I wasn't going to like the game but as I played I began to love it. Really original, must minimalize everything!

Evil cubes by raoz 2013-04-29T08:32:00

Man, those cubes are evil! The first time I played was a bit confusing but it's nice, fun and the theme is well used.

Random Objects Smash by Moist 2013-04-29T10:15:00

Very smooth and addicting. And I love the particle effects, I'll keep playing for sure.

Left vs. Right by Canobie 2013-04-29T09:35:00

Really fun, once you play a few times it begins to get easier. It'd be nice to have some kind of shade to show the range of the blue square in the next turn.

Platonic Dot Solid by Prelucid 2013-04-29T22:15:00

Adding that cry everytime he dies ... you are such a bad person! I had to see Mr.Box (that's how I'm gonna call him) die again and again and again ;(

Just kidding xD, love the game, well done!

(Follow the) Line by Chman 2013-04-30T19:43:00

Simple and fun, keeps you playing until you finish it.

Life! by cwilloughby 2013-04-29T16:35:00

Nice work, the concept is very original.

Hiddensquares by Tozy 2013-04-30T16:16:00

Original, pretty and hard. I like it!

Exit by Ludipe 2013-04-29T11:43:00

@infernet89 As I made the game I forgot to pay more attention to the theme. In the beginning it was more minimalist but also uglier and kind of boring.

@Diventurer The good timing is thanks to my friends, they came to my room from time to time and that really helped me. It's very helpful to have that kind of live feedback.

@lambomang I didn't want the player to die, I thought about including enemies, spikes and similar stuff. In the end I decided to remove those because I didn't want players to feel afraid of exploring.

Thank you all for playing, I'm glad you liked it. By the way, the thing that talks to you through the game was supposed to give you positive messages about life, somehow it developed its own personality and decided to be a jerk :)

The world is in your hand by jacklehamster 2013-04-29T10:40:00

Great story and very original gameplay. A bit slow-paced sometimes but that's ok. Well done!

Mondrian by Kyle Bolton 2013-04-29T16:29:00

Nice game, as said before it'd be great for touch devices. I just wish I could invert the controls.

Minimum Reason Game: Hail To The Potato King by nodoxi 2013-04-29T08:27:00

LOL, so hilarious. I said I'd never kneel before a potato but I guess I'm just another perfect potato idiot. Well done!

The March by TeeDoubleU 2013-04-29T21:48:00

The graphics are awesome, reminds me to something but I don't really know what. Gameplay is also quite original and keeps you playing.

1BtnBounce by Fnkee 2013-05-05T19:06:00

Simple, fun and hard. I love the coop option, everything is better with a friend.

Sightless by donan 2013-04-30T19:29:00

Yeah, controls are hard but I think that's the point, it's what makes the game interesting. Nice job!

Scout by Trench 2013-04-30T11:50:00

No real gameplay here but the fox is very cute, I love the animation when he stands still for a while. You should make another game with this graphics or expand the gameplay of the one you already have.

Lunarium by Alprog 2013-04-29T16:23:00

I like the idea and the main character is great :)

Cube Dinosaurs? by PyroSneak 2013-04-29T21:37:00

Simple minimalist game, I just love the graphics. It might be better if it was faster, just my personal opinion.

Dieter Rams Memory by PixelArtM 2013-04-29T07:49:00

Nice game, it's nothing new but it kept me playing for a while >.< .It'd be nice to have leaderboards to compare highscores.

P.D.: I love the art style.

The Unseen by Lamprabbit 2013-04-29T10:03:00

Excellent game. I liked when you had to use the explosions and then scenes from the battle appeared before your eyes, that was very cool.

Save the potato! by loxo 2013-04-29T07:22:00

Nice game, very hard, my record is only 12 seconds. Damm you potato!

The Game Without Controls by methamphetabear 2013-04-29T10:28:00

Took me a bit to learn the mechanics. Very original and the graphics are beautiful. Good job! :)

Civil war by ninjalan 2013-04-30T13:07:00

Looks fun but as there is no AI and I don't have anyone near to play with I can't really test the game.

MinimaLand by Switchbreak 2013-04-30T17:43:00

Original take on the theme. It's a nice and entertaining platformer.

Shaving Quest: The Razor's Edge by Milktoast 2013-04-29T21:52:00

Hey, don't give up, you did a great job with this, so keep working on it and finish it, even if it's not for the compo, who cares? Try to do it in the next days, if you achieve that you'll have done it, because the point is to finish the game.

Keep making games! :)

Reach the Moon by Nanolotl 2013-04-29T08:43:00

Very interesting game, a bit too dark, yeah, there shouldn't be any light but the ground is completely black and the objetcs seem to be illuminated. I really liked it and I'll keep trying to reach the moon :)

The Red Circle by dissonance 2013-04-29T09:25:00

Interesting game, it's really weird but that makes it more interesting. The background music is awesome and the voice-acting is a fantastic feature.

DHRDR by johnste 2013-04-29T08:08:00

Looks fun and I like the art style but it keeps crashing often in my computer (windows 7 32 bits ). I'll try it later from another PC.

hunter hungry by Jonathan Whiting 2013-04-29T15:19:00

Great game. Love the bow and the hunting mechanics, I feel bad about this but shooting rabbits was fun.

Where is my Bone? by Uhfgood 2013-04-29T06:35:00

Nice game! You could try to port it to touch devices.

The epicly short adventure by JaJ 2013-04-29T09:00:00

The first time I played I left the planet when I reached the spaceship and I was like:"Seriously? That's all?". I played again and then realised how to continue.

Great game and the graphics are simply amazing.

Continuus by Jase 2013-04-29T07:17:00

I really like the graphics, they make the game very relaxing and the gameplay is pretty original.

Cottonhead by Patacorow 2013-04-30T15:33:00

Wow, absolutely amazing, I love it. My favourite game so far on this edition. You did a great job! I just wish it was longer.

Art Critic by sanojian 2013-05-05T18:39:00

Really original and cool, i like it!

P.D.: Am I the only one having issues when clicking on restart level?

Noise by Diventurer 2013-04-29T08:22:00

I can't run it even when I installed the "Click here if you can't open the game (vc++redist2012)", what am I doing wrong? :(

(I'm using windows 7 32 bits )

It just stops working, I don't get any message. Hope that helps.

Noise by Diventurer 2013-04-29T09:29:00

@Diventurer
I replaced noise.exe and didn't work. Besides, Noise.exe doesn't keep running after that.

I'll play it later on another computer.

Orbfuscated by CaptainKraft 2013-05-05T18:36:00

I liked the concept, looks like there are a lot of game where you don't see the ground (my entry included). Well done!

Timothy's Adventure by FenrisWolf 2013-05-05T18:47:00

It's fun, gets a bit repetitive but it's simple and fun.

Aranami by Frozen Fractal 2013-05-05T18:53:00

Original and hard. It's nice to play this game for a while and just relax, very smooth.

I Dream In Color by evilseanbot 2013-05-05T18:59:00

Fun game with original graphics(and a bit spooky). Well done!

A Square In A Room by PapyPilgrim 2013-05-05T19:03:00

fun game, 5/5 in theme. A bit frustrating sometimes but the difficulty is well set.

Edward Was Human by geepit 2013-04-29T22:23:00

WOW, amazing game. I think it was a bit easy but the story kept me playing, I couldn't stop until it was finished. During the first part I was thinking:"Come on Edward, you have your family and your dog, don't go away!!! :( "

Good job!

Left & Knight by toaster 2013-05-05T18:56:00

Cute graphics and nice idea. I appeared in a blank stage twice, there wasn't any slime to kill or bombs that could kill me.

Zmore by mrspeaker 2013-04-29T09:46:00

I liked the idea but found the game a bit too easy. Once you get the laser there's no challenge so It'd be interesting if the laser was harder to get. Well done!

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Cogri Is Missing by Verbivore 2013-08-25T22:13:00

Nice game and the art style is great. I had just one issue, I completed the game twice without getting close to any fire camp. In fact, I thought that there was a bug and that shadows couldn't harm you, I had to go towards them to be able to lose. Maybe it was just luck or a coincidence.

Timed Ninjas by rujo 2013-08-25T22:27:00

I keep killing them O_0, why do you have do die!?!? xD

Simple yet very fun game

10Seconds Racer by orangepascal 2013-08-26T07:58:00

Awesome game, simple, fun and very very addictive. It's hard to get the power-ups so I guess I'll have to keep training.

Detective Awesomepants by xel 2013-08-26T17:45:00

@TobiasW :"All the riddles made perfect sense for me - except the beach. What's the reasoning there?" There's a shoe next to the corpse and the murderer is missing one.

Awesome game. I played it a few times to make sure I understood every case. You did an amazing job! (Overall 5/5)

Pleading Rain by Brassawiking 2013-08-26T08:38:00

Very original and a bit strange. I'll keep playing to discover all the ends (or until you release the walkthrough)

Pube by magicdweedoo 2013-08-26T07:54:00

This game made me laugh really hard. At first I couldn't understand what was happening or what I had to do but after dying a few times I got it.

It's fun, hilarious and I love the art style.

Great entry!

Lodestar by folmerkelly 2013-08-26T23:24:00

This game features gorgeous graphics, but the gameplay is way too easy.

A Love Story by Shmarah 2013-08-31T13:36:00

I loved the story and the graphics but more choices would be good, right now there's little interaction, and that's what a game's about.

Flooded Dungeons by ripatti 2013-08-26T07:19:00

Simple, challenging and with beautiful graphics. I like the concept of the fast rogue-like game.

Well done!

Flicker by lalanl 2013-08-26T21:54:00

It's a great entry, specially if it's your first one. The idea is simple but it's well executed.

The design lets the players get familiar with the concepts at the right pace so they can use them in the following levels.

There are just two things that I'd include: Detailed instructions (the game can be confusing at first) and a reset button (there are some bugs and I got stuck two times).

Good job!

The Devil That Comes by Zetsaika 2013-08-25T21:32:00

Perhaps it's because I just finished my entry and my brain is dead but I can't get through the "Every now and then, ..." screen.

Some instructions would be useful :)

The Devil That Comes by Zetsaika 2013-08-25T22:03:00

I completed the game, it's pretty original. At first you don't really see the point in the gameplay but as you type the story you feel somehow part of it, it makes you pay attention and, as weird as it can sound, typing can be immersing.

Well done!

The Hero's Journey (or get the treasure and run) by Ludipe 2013-08-26T07:59:00

@netgrind haha, you must be going kind of crazy, each stage was exactly one rotation

The Hero's Journey (or get the treasure and run) by Ludipe 2013-08-26T09:18:00

@kirbytails7 I've always wanted to design a few educational games but being original; I wouldn't call this a totally educational game, but it motivates people to understand the hero's journey.

@Rave Radbury I always have issues with sounds/music. Music is really bad and there were some sounds before. I removed them because I was going a bit crazy hearing them all the tiem, maybe it wasn't the best choice, I don't know, I was a bit tired.

Demon Infiltration by Zekyon 2013-08-26T10:35:00

Really fun and with lovely pixel art. The biggest issue (at least for me) is that it takes too long to start again once you die, that breaks the game pace, I'd like to be able to die and start playing the next second.

Great game! A must play.

Escape the Underground by Tom Gardiner 2013-08-26T15:21:00

Voice acting+amazing art style+polished platformer=Great game!

10 Second shooting by Pikkufighter 2013-08-26T08:21:00

Hey, it's also my second Ludum Dare! :)

It's a nice little game, but it needs improvements. As other users said feedback is important, play a sound and animation once you destroy a target, or when another appears.

Film Leader by PixelArtM 2013-08-26T07:47:00

I played some earlier versions during the weekend and it's a very fun game. It's easy if you are not collecting the frames in the correct order and quite hard once you try to do that, it keeps you searching the screen for the one which is animated. Great game!

Time Squirrel by Toestee 2013-08-26T08:27:00

All I have to say is: "What the hell was that?" haha

I found this game to be crazy and fun. TimeSquirrel is hilarious.

Note: Maybe slowdown should be limited, otherwise we would use it all the time.

Are you? by Drubert 2013-08-26T07:31:00

The story is nice and the graphics are simple but do their job. The one thing that this game needs is more interaction, there's nothing wrong with focusing on the story ( example: To the moon ) but it needs to be a game after all, and that means getting some feedback.

It's a good first LD entry, well done.

The Duellists by jay griffin 2013-08-26T09:34:00

Simple gameplay, original and with beautiful graphics. I think that I saw a couple of "duelist" games being made for this Ludum Dare. It'd be even better with a faster game pace but I guess you have to stick to the "10 seconds" theme.

I only need ten more seconds by anserran 2013-08-26T10:59:00

Very original and hard. Well done!

The Story of Tim by JaR_ 2013-08-26T08:17:00

It's really hard and frustrating. I admint I couldn't finish it, I played for a long time and got to "2" seconds left a few times. It's very fun and addictive and I like who everything makes sense if you keep playing.

Great game!

Proletarian Ninja X by deepnight 2013-08-26T23:31:00

Awesome game, one of the best things I've seen on this ld edition.

Inside the Safe by Pyrofoux 2013-08-26T10:15:00

I liked this game, every riddle-lover should play this. It would be nice if it was longer, but hey, we are given just 48 hours after all

10.00s...10.00s...10.00s... by kirbytails7 2013-08-26T07:39:00

It is hard indeed, but hey, we need some hard games, lately games tend to be way too easy. I really like the level design above the other things. Really fun game.

Just one little detail, you pass a level when time reaches 0 and you are in the green area, it'd be better if you passed it the moment you enter the green area, there's no point in standing there until you run out of time.

Coin Rush by lectvs 2013-08-26T09:53:00

Simple, with nice graphics, very polished and really really fun. Seriously, I haven't played a better entry on this Ludum Dare.

Hair Cop by PixelRebirth 2013-08-26T14:41:00

I love the NES style graphics and the game is very fun. My only issue is that I can't use my xbox 360 controller, don't not why but it's not working.

I'd like to see a longer version of this game.

Orction House Panic by Dry Tree 2013-08-27T09:03:00

Pretty original, nice artstyle and the voice-acting feature is great.

Action Movie: The Game by poohshoes 2013-08-26T08:03:00

Gives you a Macgyver feeling. It's fun but I keep dying too many times haha.

ESC: The Game, the Experience by Spaceoff 2013-08-26T10:45:00

Hey, it's pretty good, even if it's generic. The art is nice and it's highly polished and that's great.

If I were you I'd give more space to the player, sometimes it's hard or frustrating because you keep hitting the wall too often.

Just curious, why the "Made in GM Studio (hopefully the last time I will EVER be using it for LD" thing?

Feather & Son by Carduus 2013-09-01T14:37:00

Awesome game, it's a great first entry. Well done!

Check out Construct 2, it's another software to make games, like stencyl, it doesn't requiere any programming at all, but it's more powerful.

LD28 — You Only Get One

Darkest Friday by Cake&Code 2013-12-18T22:12:00

I enjoyed this game quite a lot, I like typing games but I don't get to play them very often. I had a few laughs when I saw the parodies in the names but I had some issues recognising a few letters(due to the font).

Great game, I wish it had more levels or a higher difficulty.

P.D.: You guessed right, our game is based on "Lovers in a dangerous spacetime", as explained here:

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/14/so-far-so-good-30/

The Last Flight by travislucia 2013-12-19T13:25:00

Great game, I loved the concept and the retro style. I also like how every part of the helicopter can be damaged, quite detailed.

Charon by jerombd 2014-01-05T20:52:00

Hi there fellow construct user! :)

I loved the graphics, they are completely awesome but you should work a bit more on the gameplay design.

The Follower by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2013-12-18T23:25:00

It's looks very promising, there's not much to do right now but it'd be great as a full game, every Populous fan is gonna love this.

Smooth Operator by pjchardt 2014-01-05T13:08:00

Simple but fun. I love seeing more multiplayer games. I had a great time playing with some friends.

Santa's Mistake by Geoege 2013-12-17T13:41:00

Nice concept, very fun to play with a friend. I just tested it for a few minutes. I'll grab a bunch of friends on the weekend to play it :)

P.D.: We also made a multiplayer game, check it out.

Assembly Man by Jellycakes 2013-12-18T23:07:00

I liked the concept and the gun animations, but I'm having some issues understanding the gameplay. Once you assemble the gun everyone is going after you, even if you are hidding; so there's no point in doing it right away. You just collect the gun parts, go to the house where the target it, assemble it right in front of him and shoot as soon as it's ready.

P.D.: Thanks for playing our game("The sidekicks") while streaming, I had to leave and couldn't watch it live :(

I want to invite you to replay it(checking the tutorial and the settings menu). In the settings menu people can customize the difficulty and create crazy rules. We added this feature because we didn't have time to balance the game. It's a cool feature and some users missed it.

FowL Play by Sakuyan 2013-12-17T12:15:00

It's simple but fun. I loved the art, specially the opening scene.

I was able to beat in 1:43 :)

Why don't you check our game? We also used Construct.

Shards of One by Gungnir 2013-12-17T13:47:00

I really like the game, the story is very deep and it gets to the player. It keeps you thinking about life for a while.

Pillage Rush by Jgpicatoste 2013-12-19T12:47:00

5/5 in graphics, I loved them. Some instructions or tutorial should be added, it's a simple game and easy to understand but there were a few things that confused me.

P.D.: We also made our game with construct, check it out.

8bit Rebellion by havana24 2014-01-05T13:12:00

A bit too repetitive, but it's pretty original and the graphics are amazing.

Hospital Trash by finefin 2013-12-17T12:23:00

Wow, the art is awesome.

Well done!

Epic Last Bottle Of Milk by psychomonster 2013-12-19T00:15:00

Great game, I had a lot of fun playing it, however, I'd like it more if it was turn-based, like classic roguelikes where enemies move only when you do. It'd be more strategic.

The Hotdog Parable by SunShiranui 2013-12-17T14:00:00

Very fun game! Nothing new but with great art, nice music and some jokes attached.

It'd be better if it was harder, it was very easy and I had all the upgrades developed on the 8th of January.

Senile Santa, cute kids & ruthless Rudolph by Pol 2014-01-05T21:40:00

I love the graphics and the idea is pretty original. I wish there was some more interaction.

A Ronin Heart by TijmenTio 2014-01-05T21:02:00

I loved the game and it'd be awesome to play a post-compo version. Great job, just work a bit more on the AI and the loading screens (too many of them and too long)

COR by ENDESGA 2013-12-18T10:34:00

I love artistic games like this one, they keep me thinking me about life. I wish it also had some gameplay, puzzls or something like that.

The sidekicks by Ludipe 2013-12-17T16:34:00

@cake&code Our game it's inspired on "Lovers in a dangerous..." as explained here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/14/so-far-so-good-30/

Right now we want to get as much feedback as possible, in a month or so we'll se if we end up developing this idea further.

I know it can be an easy game, we didn't have much time to balance difficulty; If we upgrade the game we'll fix this.

The sidekicks by Ludipe 2013-12-19T12:51:00

@mortus: Thanks for the feedback and playing again. If we decide to make a post-jam version we'll spend a lot of time redesigning the gameplay, I'm considering many options (like turning it into an arena game where one ships fights another). We appreciate your suggestions a lot.

The sidekicks by Ludipe 2013-12-21T22:05:00

@drnick: Sorry to hear that, we used construct to develop the game and I'm not sure how it makes the linux port. I'll check it.

@Sean Noonan: I thought about adding some challenge to the tools you can use but I decided not to in case it distracted the player, sugggestion noted. We'll experiment with it.
And respecting the "press Enter" thing, it was just a mistake due to a change made in the last hours.

Thanks for the feedback!

Dungeon Darkness by Tom Gardiner 2014-01-05T20:47:00

Great game! I had a lot of fun playing with some friends. I love the fact that there are so many multiplayer games this time.

The Wizardry of Differentiation by mortus 2013-12-18T22:38:00

I liked the crafting system, reminds me of magicka, however, I'd like to have different strategies when fighting enemies(besides choosing the spell). You get to capture a feeling of empowerment with this game.

P.D.: I want to invite you to replay our game ("The sidekicks"). In the settings menu people can customize the difficulty and create crazy rules. We added this feature because we didn't have time to balance the game. It's a cool feature and some users missed it.

One Eye by kcpunk666 2013-12-17T14:26:00

Nice art and gameplay but, as others said, needs a faster restart. It took me 7 attemps to complete it.

P.D.: We also used construct to make our ludum dare game :)

It's dangerous to go alone. by Senevri 2013-12-18T23:31:00

Nice mix of styles, the idea is quite original. I'd like to see a more polished post-jam version.

G by Sean Noonan 2013-12-17T14:23:00

It took me a bit to realise how to "follow his voice". Great game with nice art.

P.D.: We also used construct to make our ludum dare game :)

faif by Beavl 2014-01-05T12:38:00

It's a nice concept, though too luck based for my taste. I experienced a couple of bugs and I think it needs some balance but it's quite fun. I'd like to see a multiplayer version.

--- by Zephyr Raine 2013-12-18T22:00:00

I had a lot of fun with it, it was a bit dull to repeat some events in order to get every ending but it was still fun (and disturbing from time to time :) )

Wilhelm's Escape by glovecat 2013-12-18T23:50:00

Nice puzzles, great art and extremely polished ; this doesn't look like a jam game at all. Being an old fan of point & click adventures I had a great time playing this game.

I can't think of any issue to point out, an extended version would be awesome.

Love, Bullet, Minute by the 2013-12-18T23:40:00

I was quite confused for the first minutes, maybe some mysterious hints could be given to the player to make it easier to understand.

P.D.: I want to invite you to replay our game ("The sidekicks"). In the settings menu people can customize the difficulty and create crazy rules. We added this feature because we didn't have time to balance the game. It's a cool feature and some users missed it.

A Precious Arrow by Benjamin 2014-01-05T12:23:00

It's amazing that you did all this in just 48 hours. I loved the design, graphics and sound but I must say it was too punishing, games can be hard without being punishing.

One Soul by edrache 2013-12-17T13:25:00

I like this not-game, it's an interesting concept with hard ethical decisions. I'd like to see deeper stats, like how many people picked each person, how many sent him back to life, how many sent them to hell, etc.

You Are Disabled by Cory Martin 2014-01-05T19:44:00

I didn't like the messages in the game and gameplay as a man with no legs is pretty boring.

I like the artwork, it reminded me to yoshi island.

Thrust Issues by Gravedrinker 2014-01-05T19:23:00

Nice concept with awesome graphics. It felt a bit difficult and frustrating to me, it's hard to regain control over the car once you lose it.

Ninja-kun's Final Exam by Thommy 2013-12-18T23:35:00

Fun but a bit repetitive, also the background was quite distracting.

The concept is original and it's a nice game.

One Character/One Song - Samuel Pantoja & Annybell Villarroel by Anny 2013-12-19T00:22:00

I liked the art and the music but you have to polish more the gameplay, it's pretty hard to follow the instructions. Good job and keep practising in jams.

P.D.: It's a ludum dare rule to update the source(in your case the capx file, since you are using construct). We also used construct to make our game, check it out!

SUS: The Game (Brazilian hospital SIM) by Ricardo Bencz 2013-12-17T14:17:00

It's short and easy but it's about a very important issue and the art is awesome. Well done!

P.D.: We also used construct to make our game, check it out!

Javel-ein by managore 2014-01-05T22:22:00

Simply amazing, the best thing I've played during this Ludum Dare. The concept was fun, original and required a lot of strategy. The art and level design were also great.

Last Minute Christmas Chopping by Notch 2014-01-05T14:27:00

Almost completed it last time! Anyways, great game, extremly polished and I like that it's christmas-related.

That one spot by madflame991 2014-01-05T12:28:00

Clever concept with gorgeous art, the only drawback is that it's easy to find tricks and it can get boring after a couple of levels.

WaterColor by fierysquirrel 2014-01-05T21:46:00

Wow, the concept was really original and the gameplay enjoyable. Well done.

TITAN SOULS by Claw 2013-12-17T16:52:00

Great game, the best thing I've played so far in this jam. The only thing that I'd add are checkpoints before the bosses, having to walk everytime you die it's painful.

Fountain by Terry 2013-12-17T10:06:00

Wow, I didn't know you would making a game for this Ludum Dare.

I liked the concept and the ideas you wanted to express in "Fountain", but gameplay is way too much frustrating. Nobody likes backtracking, it's like:

"Sure, I'm getting old, I could return to the fountain or keep exploring. Exploring is exciting because you discover great stuff and going back to the fountain and here again is boring, is not a challenge, I've done it and I could do it again"

I get that backtracking is part of expressing the idea, but I think it adds too little to the game(gameplay wise) compared to how frustrating makes it.

SuperHexagon was one of the hardest things I've played in my life, I loved it because it was a challenge and you designed it so it wouldn't be frustrating. Maybe that's what happens with "Fountain"'s design, it needs to challenge the player with something else that's not time management, it's hard to know.

Anyways, sometimes you just want to make a game about a thought you had and you just want to create it without caring about other details.

Hoping to see more games from you soon!

The dragon journey by strong99 2013-12-18T23:46:00

I played the game in the latest Firefox(fullscreen mode) version and had some lag issues.

I liked the Limbo art style and the gameplay is fun.

Eye Fly by bigbadwofl 2014-01-05T15:02:00

Nice game, you should publish it on mobile devices.

P.D.: The character sprite needs to flash or show some other animation when it gets hit.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

The world beneath by Spotline 2014-04-29T20:03:00

Art+Lighting system is awesome, the worst part was that my mouse didn't stay in the game.

Finish Him! by dmcfarline 2014-04-29T19:46:00

It's funny, polished and great. It's a pity it's that short.

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-05-01T07:44:00

This a great-looking metroidvania. But the gameplay needs some more polish, specially the input, I felt like I was fighting the controls.

Jetpack Caverns by Mental Atrophy 2014-04-29T09:41:00

Really fun game mixed with the retro feeling and nostalgia. Great entry!

The Mask of Us by KirbiKaka 2014-05-01T15:14:00

Great interpretation of the game! and the art is pretty cool too!

Damned Scouts! by Lama 2014-04-29T11:28:00

This game made me laugh really hard, thinking about ways to kill happy little kids kids xD; but I wasn't able to figure out how to kill the last three scouts (o.o).

Dig Hard by petey123567 2014-04-29T09:08:00

Really fun game. One of the best feelings in the world is jumping and shooting the floor with the laser gun, it's great.

Beneath the... hey, look, shiny things! by Yaru 2014-04-28T21:22:00

Found 27 blue things but I missed the skeleton the other players mention in the comments above, I'll play again tomorrow.

Nice simple exploration game, it'd be great to have more secrets to find.

Seamless by Jeffalisk 2014-04-29T12:10:00

As the other users said, the art is wonderful, is a pity you couldn't take it to the next level. Just remember that you can always develop a post-compo version.

Heaving of the Depths by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2014-05-01T07:33:00

I really loved the art in this game, it reminded me to wind waker. The gameplay should be upgraded and it needs to be a bit more polished but the art is simply great.

Under The Sea by SonicRaptor 2014-04-29T19:37:00

Fine but very simple game, not bad for your first entry.

An Ode to Violence by Benn 2014-04-30T08:56:00

Nice game! Simple but very fun, reminds me a lot to a flash minigame where you controlled a shark and had to jump to take down ships and planes.

Village By The Lake by KJScott 2014-04-29T19:17:00

I liked the concept and the graphics, sadly the gameplay it's way too simple.

Doors & Secrets by Ludipe 2014-04-29T11:10:00

@Yaru @spotco : I realized that most people would play the game alone but I decided to make it anyway. I can't enjoy these games whenever I want but when I have a friend to play with I'm glad these kind of games exist.

Doors & Secrets by Ludipe 2014-04-29T12:12:00

@copain I included that kind of handicap but I didn't like it in the end. It's one of those things that I wish I could have tested before submitting, but, as said before, I didn't have people to test this kind of stuff during the last hours.

Doors & Secrets by Ludipe 2014-04-29T19:20:00

@Jeffalisk: That's really odd, I'll check it with different browsers and settings. Thanks for the warning!

Doors & Secrets by Ludipe 2014-04-29T20:06:00

@LemmingSurvivor: Yeah, I agree with you about the camera. If I made a post-jam version I'd spend a lot of time trying to get a better camera system. It's not bad but it needs to be tweaked and adjusted for specific situations.

Doors & Secrets by Ludipe 2014-04-30T10:05:00

@urisensei: Pushing the other one would be a great feature, I hadn't thought about it. Thanks! :)

Ball Club by MidCry 2014-04-29T19:51:00

Nice fun game, remings me a lot to "Towerfall". I also made a multiplayer-only game.

Underground Minions by Shinxs 2014-04-29T11:21:00

Cool concept but it could really use some time to polish it and create more content, maybe a post-compo version.

Syndrome by Anoarith 2014-04-29T19:54:00

Really cool concept with great art. I was surprised by the huge amount of choices available.

Balancitos by NickZangus 2014-04-29T09:31:00

The idea is great and the art is lovely. Sadly I found it a bit hard to control. Really looking for the post-compo version. Good work!

Torch by DarknessFades 2014-04-29T19:43:00

I kinda like the concept but the gameplay is confusing and I die randomly.

Moai by Satyre 2014-04-29T12:17:00

Nice simple game, but it's true that with less than 3 remaining it gets boring, should be game over in those situations.

Beneath The Surface by trvr 2014-04-29T09:07:00

It was short but still fun to play due to the challenge. I'd make the map transitions smoother, they can be quite confusing.

Beneath a red sky by allinlabs 2014-04-29T07:21:00

Nice top-down shooter

Beneath the City by deepnight 2014-04-30T08:03:00

Original, beautiful and set in the famous and loved world of thief. Awesome Entry.

Submersion by chase 2014-04-29T06:55:00

Nice concept! I did something similar during the last Ludum Dare. It'd be helpful to have a reminder of the input in the game, it's a bit complex at first.

Sopora by Crabman 2014-04-29T19:58:00

It's a really cool concept perfectly executed, it just needs to be a bit harder, as long as you don't panic is pretty easy.

Surface Dungeon by ForeseenParadox 2014-04-30T07:27:00

I really like challenging platformers like this, but there are two issues that can make it too frustrating; the lack of the restart button and some issues with collision detection.

Super Scrool Bros by eLLectron 2014-04-29T19:27:00

Fine platformer, but I keep falling through the ground all the time, it's too buggy.

Enester, an unexpected Journey by sroelandt 2014-04-29T19:14:00

I really liked the game, challenging platformers are always welcome. But if I were you I would hide the timer, you had some pretty funny text but the timer was making me nervous and I just tried to complete everything really fast, not really paying attention to the rest.

Under My Bed by akymos 2014-04-29T22:22:00

I liked the concept and the art but the gameplay is soo easy that is not a challenge at all.

Frack You by Candyhandy 2014-04-29T09:21:00

It was a fun puzzle game but it's too easy to cheat. As pipes seem to be unlimited and they don't have to be connected there's a simple strategy:

http://i.imgur.com/VKxyYky.png

Defy Hades by MyrddinsOwl 2014-04-29T22:14:00

Great art and interesting story, but it's a bit too short and offer no challenge. I'd like to see an extended post-jam version.

DUNGEON DUNGEON DUNGEON by urisensei 2014-04-29T18:57:00

The gameplay was buggy and confusing, but the art was simply great.

Darkvision by vexille 2014-04-29T20:41:00

Nice entry for your first Ludum Dare. The game was interesting though a bit buggy.

The Stones Back Home by jrap 2014-04-30T07:53:00

Nice and polished game, it's simple yet very fun. I found two minor bugs, nothing game-breaking.

Hey, you!! by Crocanti de Pollo 2014-04-29T19:23:00

Cool concept and great art, I'm having lots of fun with it, though I fail most times.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-04-29T12:07:00

Kind of octodad meets "Dexter", quite funny, made me laugh for a while. By the way, the art is great.

Under Arctic by CapsE 2014-04-29T19:30:00

It's really confusing at first, needs to be a bit more polished.

BeneathTheSurface by CupcakeMedia 2014-04-29T06:53:00

Nice game! It's a huge project for a compo. I'd add more ammo to the levels, I take drobots drop health or bullets randomly, I killed a few robots, got only health and had to run through several enemies searching for ammo.

Spelunker Boxing by NTR 2014-04-29T12:28:00

I liked the game, reminds me to nidhogg. The NPCs were hard, lucky for me i found some cheap strategies ^^

Great game!

Geology Rocks by theengineers 2014-04-29T19:41:00

Hi there fellow construct user!

The idea is cool but, as some users said before, you need to disable the collisions while dragging blocks, otherwise players will keep cheating.

Graveyard Keeper by LeReveur 2014-04-29T19:03:00

Nice game but it's a little bit too easy. In order to win the player just needs to click on the earlier graves. If some graves were faster than others it'd be more challenging and interesting.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Hypnagogia by Cake&Code 2014-08-26T09:46:00

Cool game, fun, original and with some great art.

Hey Lucky Lucky by Deconstructeam 2014-08-26T10:38:00

Great work! The art is great and the puzzles are very enjoyable.

Videogame Hero by shatterhand 2014-08-25T14:00:00

Cool concecpt, must have been hard to take care of all the mechanics.

Bipolar World by havana24 2014-08-28T20:33:00

Great game, I loved the art and the music. I took my time to gather all the pills, though I didn't notice if there was a completion bonus.

The Wizard Of Clix by dhargan 2014-08-25T13:49:00

click, click, click. Too grindy :P

Ultra Realistic Social Network Simulator by Ludipe 2014-08-25T15:30:00

As many of you already said it isn't a game. It was going to be closer to a game but somewhere along the jam I got sidetracked.

I thought of thousands of features I had to discard because, you know, it's a jam. Like having some kind of conversation with the rest of chracters. What do you think? What would you like to add?

Ultra Realistic Social Network Simulator by Ludipe 2014-08-28T19:19:00

As most people said it's lacking interaction, that's something I wanted to add from the begining, but I run out of time. I couln't work on Monday, so I didn't have the chance to turn this into a jam a entry.

@Eomir: It was going to be a social network which connected several universes(real world, pokemon, etc) but I run out of time to explain evertything and implement features.

Binary System by rogueNoodle 2014-08-26T10:52:00

Simple design, yet beautiful and really fun. It's also very polished.

Well done!

Pogo the Universe by Nick Weihs 2014-08-25T20:17:00

I just finished the game, quite fun and very original. It was hard to control the character at first but after a few minutes you get the hang of it. I want more levels :D

Please Hold by Liz England 2014-08-25T20:39:00

Cool game, frustrating, as it happens with this situations in real life. Once I screamed at them for a long time, it surprisingly worked xD

Afterlife Dance Party by Wertle 2014-08-25T19:49:00

I loved the game, very fun and with nice art. The intro was awesome :D

Well done!

P.D.: I also used Construct to make something(not really a game :P ) http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=20471

CMYK by PixelArtM 2014-08-26T15:04:00

Too bad you only had 7 hours :/

Nice concept, a post-jam version to expand the prototype would be great.

Connector by TeamEagle 2014-08-26T14:26:00

Nice game, though the gameplay was confusing at first. Loved the art!

Blueprint dude by hate-marina 2014-08-25T17:07:00

Cool and fun game! It felt a bit of try/fail but it's pretty awesome.

Dear Kitty by Midnight Creators 2014-08-26T09:26:00

Nice art, great music, but almost no-gameplay at all :(

UNIVERSAL FEELING by hoyt hoy 2014-08-25T13:10:00

Hi there fellow construct user :)
Nice game with a great soundtrack. I'd add more visual eyecandy for not missing, that would provide more feedback to the player and server as a reward.

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-08-27T12:06:00

It's a pity there's almost no gameplay, the art and music blew my mind.

Yond by (Not) Ivano 2014-08-25T09:06:00

The minimalist pixel art is awesome and sets up the mood. I played a few times and started a riot everytime, people weren't convincing enough for me to let them pass.

Kind of based on the moral decisions from "Papers, Please"

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-08-26T11:06:00

You always make jams look easy. Great game, I wish I was harder, it looked almost like a tutorial.

Well done!

Hello Worlds by dustyroom 2014-08-26T14:29:00

Nice concept and lovely art, but the camera makes it hard to control :/

Awe by Oddly Shaped Pixels 2014-08-27T10:11:00

Great game, the multiplayer experience and the overall gameplay was very interesting and stimulating. Both graphics and sound design were awesome.

What I didn't like about the game is that it was supposed to be stimulating and relaxing but ended up being frustrating. I understood the mechanics and knew what I had to do, but the game requires too much precision to complete the tasks. So there's a conflict there, music and art tell me to take it easy and think camly, while gameplay keeps frustrating me.

¡Te ha quedado genial el juego! :D

Salvation by 43iscoding 2014-08-25T15:53:00

Cool game, it's a pity there are just 7 levels, feels like a tutorial more than a game.

Bond by MagnesiumNinja 2014-08-25T09:40:00

The game is original and quite enjoyable. I'd add some indicators to the UI to remind the controls to the player, I kept forgetting which button did each action.

The input didn't feel responsive, but perhaps it was my laptop.

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-08-25T13:33:00

Sweet Zombie Jesus! This is amazing, the best entry I've played so far.

DimLey by Simaflux 2014-08-25T13:54:00

Simple game but with enjoyable puzzles.

Chroma by Lvyn 2014-08-25T09:25:00

The art is great and the gameplay is fun, but I think thr rhythm should be faster.

Live is Life by borgi 2014-08-26T09:40:00

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGikhmjTSZI (Opus' song :D)

I loved the art, it was completely gorgeous, but I gotta say that levels and mechanics weren't good designed, I'm sorry, I played through all the stages even when some of them were pointless and not fun.

Well done for a first ludum dare! 5/5 in grahpics.

In Phase by McFood 2014-08-25T17:13:00

Cool game, reminds me to "ibb & obb". I experienced some bugs like characters turning invisible or respawning really far from each other and messing up the camera, but overall is a fun game.

Gargoyle Abyss by imaginarymonsters 2014-08-26T13:44:00

Fun game, but it's extremely short :(

Grindrunner by xoxopanda 2014-08-25T13:47:00

Nice game, reminds me to "half minute hero". It'd be nice to have some indicator to show the strength of the enemies.

Tangled Mini Worlds by Lars-Kristian 2014-08-26T13:18:00

Well executed game. A little hard to control sometimes but fun and with nice art.

Mirror by lectvs 2014-08-26T21:56:00

I've seen this "mirror" concept a few times in this ludum dare, but yours was the one that made a better execution.

Fun, hard and with great art. Loved the game.

Pulley Planet by Patacorow 2014-08-25T23:11:00

Awesome game, I like the concept, the art, the feeling and the character design. What didn't work for me was difficulty, I thought it was extremely easy and got bored after a few waves; maybe that could be fixed with different enemy behaviors.

Pulley Planet by Patacorow 2014-08-26T12:03:00

@Patacorow How about a quick post-jam with higher difficulty? That would take a few minutes and wouldn't be against the rules. And it'd be great! :D

The Chain of the World by noffle 2014-08-25T09:19:00

Nice graphics but the characters got stuck after reaching the chain(hapenned twice)

Sender by toranoko 2014-08-25T09:11:00

I loved the graphics, specially the main characters. Though enemies were a bit frustrating; not hard but annoying and frustrating.

Sender by toranoko 2014-08-25T09:14:00

I knew the art style was familiar. I've seen Vagante on TiG forums, looking great, good luck with the kickstarter campaign!

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Atticus VII by Deconstructeam 2014-12-09T22:36:00

Pretty cool game. I'd add a confirmation menu to let the player know what happens when you detach a module with sombedoy in(like the one you get when you accuse somebody of murder).

I really liked the idea of getting a piece of narrative or another based on my actions, that was great.

Well done!

Bluman by Luis Anton 2014-12-11T16:50:00

I liked the mood created by art and sounds. The game is fun and I completed the whole thing. Pretty cool!

It's a pity that controls don't feel too responsive, and the wall run mechanic is a bit confusing. Nice game anyway, keep up the good job!

2048 Souls by Rosencatz 2014-12-14T23:39:00

Cool art even if it's lacking animations. It has the potencial to become a nice game in a post-jam version.

For the Homeland! by Verz 2014-12-10T00:28:00

Very cool game! I was a bit confused at the beginning due to the huge amount of information you get, but the game is extremely complex and getting into it is highly rewarded.

This is a game where you should take your time and explore all the choices. You won't regret it.

Great job! :D

flop by ix 2014-12-22T18:08:00

The art and the effects were really awesome. Gameplay needs more polishing, though I understand it was a time-related issue.

Chance Encounter by allurious 2014-12-09T21:56:00

"I, Ludipe the Duck perished while in the forest. I was only level 4 and carried 30 gold at the time"

The narrative in this game was really funny and the art is very nice. Mechanics were a bit too random for my taste but it's a cool game.

The Swarm is All by Jyrkface 2014-12-10T10:48:00

Great art and sound. The main mechanic is easy-to-learn and fun. This game would work pretty good on mobile devices.

I'd make it a bit more fast-paced and harder.

Supermarket Bagman by Pixelfan Games 2014-12-11T11:05:00

The game is very fun, with cute art and catchy tunes.

The background is cool but it doesn't seem to fit the rest of the art, that bothered me a bit. I'd add a "run" key (super meat boy style), I think it improves the flow of the game a lot in this kind of games.

Great job!

Sorry the Snowman by Dezzles 2014-12-14T22:03:00

Wow, pretty original, best take on the theme so far. Easy to miss this game, but playing it was a great surprise :D

Platform 31 by Rodaja 2014-12-09T23:12:00

Very cool and highly polished local-multiplayer game. The lighting is awesome and the mechanics are simple but fun.

Great job! :D

Summoning of the Santa by Slothmachine 2014-12-11T18:01:00

Pretty cool game, I love puzzle games and I really enjoyed this one(though it felt a bit easy).

Near Jay Objects by G_O_R_D 2014-12-10T00:25:00

Extremely simple but pretty fun at the same time; though it was frustrating getting over 7000 points and seing that Gamejolt highscores aren't working as they should ;(

Well done!

Last Rooftop Hero by Phoenix849 2014-12-14T23:47:00

Simple but fun and hard to master. The art is lovely. How about a mobile port? The game mechanic is perfect for it.

Piano Racer by davidcollado 2014-12-11T08:59:00

Pretty fun game with catchy tunes, scored 47 on my first game, so I think it should a bit harder. By the way, I never used the brakes, I didn't feel they were necessary, don't know if that's what you wanted.

birdsong by managore 2014-12-29T23:22:00

One of those awesome jam games that must be played until it's completed, took me around 25 mins. Loved it! Pure awesomeness, seriously. Well done! :D

Demons Trial by guimonpa 2014-12-21T16:34:00

Pretty awesome game! Simple, hard, fun and doesn't feel repetitive at all.

Contact Cowboy by jrap 2014-12-14T23:28:00

Really solid spy-hunter game. Consider making a post-jam version with more game modes and multiplayer up to 4 players, seriously :D

Great game!

Jamception by Crocanti de Pollo 2014-12-09T22:45:00

hahaha, hilarious entry. I liked it, though it was a bit too button-mashy for me.

I didn't know I could scroll down to check more messages on the phone, some players might miss it, which could be fixed with a quick tip.

Defend the Earth! by Aglavra 2014-12-09T22:06:00

Nice breakout clone, though the "spacebar" mechanic can be exploited to make the game super easy. It'd be cool if mechanics changed from one stage to the next.

Elendow Dungeon by Elendow 2014-12-10T11:07:00

The art, music and effects are pretty cool. The game is fun but it should be way harder.

You should also improve "game-feeling", let the player receive more feedback from the game. When I hit a monster they just stand still, set a different animation for when they get hurt or make them backstep, that would improve the game a lot.

Swotch by Ulydev 2014-12-14T23:32:00

Simple but really fun, this game needs highscores or a "share button" to compete with your friends. Good job!

Rainbow Maze by FrozenCow 2014-12-10T11:02:00

The presentation is awesome and the game looks great. But in the end I felt like I was just walking around a maze, no real challenge.

Orion by feiss 2014-12-14T23:59:00

The atmosphere is awesome in this game!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

An Evening of Modern Dance by jplur 2015-04-20T17:37:00

This game reminded me to "Octodad" and "QWOP" ^^
The game is nice and the art and music fit pretty well.
Controls felt way too frustating to me, but I guess that was the point :P

Underground Hangovers by Deconstructeam 2015-04-21T10:49:00

Nice metroidvania ^^

Both art and music were superb and set the mood up. The "rope-mechanic" was interesting, I wish it was less limited because everything is always better when you can do crazy things :P

The level design was pretty solid, the entry is very polished and with a great ammount of content.

Great work!

Yoyokidz by Noxlof 2015-04-20T18:40:00

Extremely polished game. THe game feeling is pretty awesome and the yoyo mechanic feels rewarding. Graphics and music fit perfectly together.

Great job!

EDDA by madameberry 2015-04-20T16:59:00

Hi there fellow Construct dev! ^^

I thought the idea was very original and the art is lovely. I think it's not clear enough how to make "good" or "bad" poems, and that's something that should be pointed out.

The art is great and sets up the mood, but maybe the text should be a bit bigger, you have a lot of empty space on the screen and you could use some of it to make the text clearer.

Good work!

Graze by Merigrim 2015-04-20T02:43:00

I think I made it to round 5.

I thought the main mechanic was pretty clever and interesting. Usually in bullet hells you try to stay as far as possible from the bullets, however, here you're rewarded for being near them, that's pretty neat! :D

Sadly it's easy to use the columns to trick the enemies, but I'm sure it can be fixed easily.

Good work!^^

slappy the frog goes to town by rubna 2015-04-23T00:12:00

Awesome entry! The art is simply beautiful O_o
Just wanted to point out two small issues:
a)It was really hard to get the key in the lock
b)The frog sound gets too repetitive way too soon

But the tongue-mechanic felt really good, character design and dialogue was top-notch and the art left me speechless. Great job! ^^

Power of Djent by Rubel 2015-04-20T15:39:00

It's a fun game, perhaps the most urgent thing that needs to be improved is enemy AI and enemy spawn, which can be quite frustrating.

I liked your take on the theme and the sound is pretty cool ^^

Hatchet Harry by JokerDen 2015-04-20T15:30:00

Nice game! Extremely polished and with some great art. The plot is disturbing and hilarious at the same time :P

Gameplay should evolve, otherwise it becomes a bit too repetitive; but after all this is just a jam.

well done!

Captain Farticus by flyingbear 2015-04-21T00:10:00

This game remind me a lot to "Boogerman" from SNES. Using the farts to move around was fun and the city map where you change your outfit was pretty hilarious ^^

It just needs more content, some challenges and a clear goal(besides upgraddes)

South by Verz 2015-04-21T10:16:00

Pretty interesting game, loved the art and the music, they really set the mood up. The spay is an original take on the theme. All this entry needs is a bit more of polishement :)

FINGERSLINGER by Mnemusyne 2015-04-21T21:01:00

Loved this entry ^^, I used to play a game with the same rules when I was younger, so it brought up a lot of good memories. Your game is simple but highly polished, well-crafted and with lovely art. Well done! :)

Bubblegum Parkour by Linus Lindberg 2015-04-20T15:58:00

Nice short game. The "buble-mechanic" is interesting and I liked the art.

Camera should be tweaked so you can always see where you're going to land.

Twizards by Nonameghost 2015-04-20T02:55:00

The art is beautiful, I think I saw a screenshot on twitter(it could have been here) and I really liked it.

It would be cool to have a permanent visual reference, yes, there's a help panel, but when you're getting started you check that A LOT for the commands :P
So it'd be nice to be able to check all the info(or at least some references) without having to open that.

It's an interesting control mechanic and a clever take on the theme :D

Beacons by Xanjos 2015-05-11T11:26:00

It's an interesting concept but there are a couple of details that make it harder to enjoy:

-Movement: I don't think the isometric classic movement fits this game even if it breaks the feeling a bit.
-No indicator of when you're able to use the "weapon".
-Goal changes too often.

But those issues are easy to fix and they should take you just a couple of minutes.

I liked the visuals, they're extremely simple but quite nice, shadowcasting and simple colors do the trick. Well done ^^

bloodshot by rogueNoodle 2015-04-21T00:58:00

Another awesome game that makes me try to get the highest score possible :P

I like how your blood is the source for everything, you gotta think about the way you shoot but also if you want to donate some in order to save a dying person, perhaps the best choice would be to let him/her die an recover some health before trying to save the next.

Art-wise, the game is simple yet elegant. Indicating everything through colors(your life, enemy life, etc) works perfectly well.

Nothing much to say, well done sir! ^^

Lisa vs. the Tornado by Wertle 2015-04-24T00:42:00

I enjoyed the narrative quite a lot, it felt deep and personal. The flashlight effect was a really nice touch, I had never seen something like that on a twine game and it improves the experience(and also kinda tells your brain that this isn't a regular text-adventure)

I found the sounds to be a bit irritating, even after lowering my volume, I think it was because they were too high-pitched, but that might be just me.

The choices I made didn't really have a meaning for me, I was more interested in the "main story";the choices seemed too shallow and not very interesting, they "didn't click" for me.

What I really loved about this game was how narrative felt personal and real, great job! ^^

TRANSMATTER WHIRLMPOLE VACUUMBUSTER by CogentInvalid 2015-04-20T03:07:00

Simple and fun. The mechanics are very easy to learn and the difficulty is pretty well defined. Really makes you want to play more times.

Billy McMath Solves Problems by Manky 2015-04-22T00:18:00

This is very fun game and the voice-acting is really awesome. Adding math problems instead of the typical QTEs.

The narrative and the art were hilarious. Good job!

Sal and Papa by McFunkypants 2015-04-21T16:49:00

As you already said, this is more a toy than a game right now, but the art and music were cute and controlling the characters was really fun.

This could evolve into a 1vs1 game with some work, and it could be awesome. Perhaps a duel to see who drops more salt/pepper on the food(with a particle system), that could be pretty hilarious.

By the way, I loved the voice-acting, really unique :)

Velo-City by TeamEagle 2015-04-23T17:13:00

Really nice game! Kind of reminds me to "Race the sun". The art is fantastic and the gameplay is fun and addicting.

Space Boy by Hyoga-3D 2015-04-20T18:36:00

It's a very fun game and the different enemies/hazards add a lot of variety to the gameplay.

As some people already pointed out, this game is screaming for a score tracker :)

Blackboard Wars by KedumeBits 2015-04-20T19:04:00

It's a pretty fun game, though hitboxes feel a bit unfair.

I really liked your take on the theme and how you put together art and sounds, by the way, the sounds add A LOT to this game, I loved them.

Where's Manno by local minimum 2015-04-21T12:10:00

This game was pretty weird, which isn't a bad thing ^^

Art and sound worked really well together, by the way, the voice-acting was an awesome detail.

Just two small suggestions: higher movement speed for the player and an option to disable/lower the effects. I don't usually have issues with this kind of things, but I got dizzy after playing for a while.

Great work and quite original!

Fathom by Joe Williamson 2015-04-21T02:11:00

Really nice game, both the art and the music are extremely beautiful. Redirecting the bullets reminded me a lot to "Ori and the blind forest", which features a similar mechanic.

The game felt extremely polished, well done! ^^

Pizzocalypse by mystakin 2015-04-20T20:16:00

Nice game, I like the retro-feeling and how rewarding it felt to shoot the pizzas once you got more ingredients ^^

Badass Inc by deepnight 2015-04-27T13:39:00

You always make really amazing games. The art and the music were completelly amazing, and the mix between point&click and action games was clever and fun.

I bow to you sir ^^

Mass-X by hexagore 2015-04-20T22:21:00

Great game! I just completed it ^^
The art is awesome and the core mechanic is quite interesting

A Knife Made Of Whispers by managore 2015-04-20T21:58:00

I just completed the whole game, it's as polished as usual :D

It was pretty original and extremely well-crafted. Throwing the "ball" felt pretty good, though repeating some parts after dying was very frustrating.

Finally, the narrative was the cherry on the top ^^

Improvisational Assassin by Vantaug 2015-04-20T03:01:00

The game is interesting but, in my opinion, the main mechanic, which would be moving around and being stealthy, is way to frustrating and not that fun.

I liked the graphics, they had a "hotline miami" feeling, which was pretty nice.

With just a bit more of work it could be a pretty cool game.

Flappy Shrimp Ninja Blob VS Blue Water Saussage ! by elpaulo 2015-04-20T16:12:00

The concept is simple but the gameplay is quite fun. The jumping moments kind of reminded me to "Ecco the dolphin" ^^

The Legend of the Yo-Yo Salesman by seankimdesign 2015-04-20T19:59:00

It's a nice game and he art is wonderful. The pace might be a bit too slow, which makes the feel repetitive too early.

Lalyvilley by From Smiling 2015-04-20T18:52:00

The art is completely beautiful, I loved it. And the music fits in the mood pretty well.

I didn't really get the combat mechanic, which is a huge part of the game, I don't enjoyed it too much, maybe the game should focus more on exploration and talking.

P.D.: I liked the fact that you can stomp on flowers :D

Sock Ninja by monkeedude1212 2015-04-20T02:29:00

I loved the retro-feeling. Art, sound and music fit pretty well and bring back memories from older games, which is always nice ^^

The text was hard to read(due to the color of the font) and the AI needs a bit more of work (right now it's easy to glitch it). But as you already said this is a jam, no room for polishement! :P

good work!

A God's Weapon by DavidErosa 2015-04-20T02:22:00

This is a game meant to be played with a friend, once you get someone to play with and practice a few rounds it gets really fun :)

Discourtesy Induced Death by Olias 2015-04-20T22:11:00

This is a very polished game, original, fun and with an hilarious narrative.

Great work! :)

Melonbomb by Dodecaplex 2015-04-20T14:19:00

This game is pretty fun ^^
The slippery floor makes the game more fun and difficult at the same time, I'm sure this wouldn't be as cool wih a regular floor. Chain explosions feel rewarding and everything looks quite polished.

Good work!

Surpent by surpent 2015-04-20T22:16:00

Nice game with cute graphics, kind of Braid it your time-rewinding skill was limited to a small area :P

good work! ^^

Way Of The First: The Untold Slater Saga by devilright 2015-04-20T18:46:00

The art is great and the fact that you added voice-acting is pretty awesome ^^

However, I didn't think the gamplay was fun :/

Unconventional Boxing by randomJammer 2015-04-20T18:57:00

The grahpics and feeling are nice, perhaps this could evolve into a 1vs1 game with some more work.

Controlling the character seemed kind of random and unrewarding, I won every fight just keeping my right arrow down :/

Black Hole Cat(sun) by 2ndHatch 2015-04-20T19:00:00

The graphics are cute. It's not fully playable right now as it's quite glitchy, but with a few more hours of work and an implemented highscore this could be pretty fun ^^

Get Rich! by TurboCorp 2015-04-21T10:09:00

Great game! I'll have to wait until the store opens to buy some friends, right now I'm playing with bots :P

The gameplay is fun, the art is pretty awesome and the music is very enjoyable. I didn't find any bugs on my playthrough.

Great work!

P.D.: Give us cheaper power-ups :P

TypeFighter by Sheepolution 2015-04-20T02:49:00

Tried the demo earlier and loved the idea. It's simple, yet very fun.

There's two things I'd change:

1)Reward using longer words
2)auto-move. Typing is fun but moving around isn't, I think this game would work better if it was on rails(automatic movement).

great work by the way! ^^

Copycat by Terry 2015-04-20T02:19:00

Simple, yet elegant and original. It's really easy to get the mechanics and, once you understand the game, it's pretty fun. I'm sure I'll be playing more of this over the next weeks ^^

Blackbird by aeveis 2015-04-20T20:57:00

I liked the concept and the art(which was awesome). As somebody pointed out earlier, the bird feels a bit random because you're not controlling him directly, but it's an interesting mechanic.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Fright Night by Grouflon 2015-09-14T15:50:00

Quite an awesome game, I liked the core mechanic and the theme use. Part action game and part puzzle game.

well done!

Rude Bear Realms by Alex Rose 2015-09-14T16:50:00

Wow, this looks super ambitious! Looks cool but needs some more work, quite a big concept for a jam, really awesome that you made so much content

A Bad Wolf King is Hard to Feed by McFunkypants 2015-09-14T17:03:00

The art is really cool and the levels have a pretty solid design. Controls felt unresponsive, that might because of the browser. It'd be cool to expand the core mechanics and add a twist.

But overall is an extremelly awesome jam game.

Who Shot First by CheesyRamen 2015-09-14T17:30:00

Really loved this game, nice use of simple graphics, super fun and with an interesting twist. All those endings were really cool. And trying to be the good guy is really hard :D

Evolution by sapermysz 2015-09-14T16:55:00

Gameplay should be faster, takes quite a lot of time to move around the map and it can be kinda. Some hints in game would be pretty useful.

No Credit, No Problem! by Razoric 2015-09-14T16:09:00

Nice take on the theme. It was a pretty fun reinterpretation of "Papers Please". Very well executed, but it might be laking some kind of reward for completing all the task fast.

Hero Mate by Lancelot Gao 2015-09-14T17:06:00

Wow, this game is great! Liked the take on the theme and the level design. Art was also very cute. My only complain is that sometimes it's hard to guess what the hero is going to do, so it'd be super helpful to have some kind of indication that hints when he is going to do each jump.

The Troll's Toll by baykush_figtree 2015-09-14T17:16:00

Really liked the voice acting and the fairy tale mood. The RPG mechanics were ok, though not fun. Voice acting + lovely art + interesting story were the best.

Death of a Lich by managore 2015-09-14T17:21:00

Fantastic work, as always. I liked how simple the concept is and how fun and deep can be. The art was also really cute.Best game I've played on this LD.

PokEscape: Magicrap's Stealthy Journey for Survival & Gyrodeuce by Tuism 2015-09-14T17:24:00

This made me laugh really hard. Nice take on the theme, plus I thought the core mechanics were cool. Good work!

You are the munchster! by Fanatrick 2015-09-14T16:13:00

Awesome game! Really liked art and sound. I like this kind of reverse-stealth games where you play the monster.

great job! :D

Impassioned Fowl by Nebulaic Toaster 2015-09-14T17:08:00

Simple concept yet really funny. So much crazyness in one game.

Boss Stomp! by MrDave 2015-09-14T17:20:00

I thought this was super original and cool. It's hard to control the fists but that's what's supposed to happen. Really cool game! ^^

Munk by MrTroy 2015-09-14T16:11:00

Liked the art. I think gameplay should be faster as just standing in the middle waiting for enemies to come closer isn't really exciting :/

I Hunger by David Yates 2015-09-14T17:07:00

This text adventure is pretty clever, good job on the writing, really liked it.

Three Bags Full by EmptyThroneTeam 2015-09-14T17:13:00

The art is great and the story is interesting enough. It's cool to see the decisions one must make each day. Pretty solid entry.

I'm a Monster Rawr! by bakakyo 2015-09-14T16:16:00

Graphics are cute and the core mechanic is nice, it just needs more polishement

Excremonsters! by Ninja Garage 2015-09-14T16:31:00

What the fuck did I just play? hahaha
Looks pretty cool but, as many others, I had to test it on my own.

Fear me! by NidzaKornjaca 2015-09-14T17:01:00

Really awesome puzzle game. The core mechanic was clever and you made a nice use of those simple assets. Well done!

Dude, Stop by Patomkin 2015-09-14T16:29:00

I liked your take on the theme haha. Really funny. My only complain is that I had a hard time understading what I needed to do on some levels. It was kind of frustrating.

The Stowaway by BuffaloPhil 2015-09-14T16:56:00

Extremelly well made. Gameplay needs some tweaking (felt a bit too slow) but the art style is super awesome.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Don't Mess With Totems by winesays 2015-12-22T22:30:00

Hey! Great game! Gameplay was superpolished and art looked awesome. Can't say much more.

Good job! :)

PSYCHOTENNIS by pkenney 2015-12-21T22:06:00

Thought it was a pretty fun game, a nice take on the breakout mechanics. Art was simple, but it does the trick and suits the game.

Well done! :)

Mobsferatu by CremaGames 2015-12-15T15:45:00

Wow, this is a super polished entry. Gameplay was smooth and I didn't run into any bug.

I would have liked to see more challenging content or a twist in the mechanics, but the result is great for a game jam.

Well done! :)

Conga Master by BubsyPoochies 2015-12-15T10:29:00

Hey guys!

Thought this was pretty hilarious. Music was very catchy and the art was cool.

I think mechanics lacked a bit of depth, the game didn't feel that fun to play or challenging. I thought once I got more people it would become quite hard to move around, but I got 12 people to follow me and it didn't feel that hard.

I liked the feel of the game, moving around the disco, with the catchy tunes and people clapping. It just needs to be a bit more challenging.

Great job! :)

Rogue Bladers: Cradle of disaster by Deconstructeam 2015-12-15T10:23:00

Really cool to see what you did with just two buttons, there are a lot of actions your character can perform. Some moves didn't feet very intuitive, like when you climbed a wall and it switched directions, but for a game jam it's damn good.

The game is highly polished, didn't run into any bugs and thought it was really fun. Perhaps the thing that needs to be improved the most would be level design, then again, it works pretty well as it is right now.

Good job guy! :)

Rolla Grolla Arena by Xanjos 2015-12-20T22:36:00

Hey! Had no friends or controllers around, so I had to play a few rounds on my own.

The concept might be a bit too shallow, just moving left and right on a versus platformer doesn't give the players many strategic options. Control isn't really polished, and playing the game is kinda confusing.

Congrats on finishing the jam and making the game!

treadmill by rogueNoodle 2015-12-15T12:15:00

Hey Chris!

Always a pleasure to see your new games. This one was a bit laggy and it crashed a few times, which is a pitty, since it gets quite hard to enjoy it :(

I think it was an interesting design choice to let the player set the pace, if they want to get a high score they'll have to be very fast and the game gets harder. Simple but it works pretty well.

Art is great as always :)

great job!

The remainders of the 34 by Rodaja 2015-12-15T12:36:00

Hey there guys! :)

Just finished the game. It was a bit laggy on my laptop and the input wasn't very accurate (guess it's because of the lag).

It was a fun game and the art is awesome(as always). But I thought it was way too easy and could have used some twist in the mechanics.

Good job guys! :)

The Super Bros (that are not Brothers!) by Xinelu 2015-12-20T22:42:00

Hey there fellow Construct user! :)

Completing the levels isn't really a challenge and it's all about using the walls to get both characters togethers and then playing like in any regular platformer.

The game needs more mechanics to make it more interesting, but it's a game jam after all.

Congrats on finishing the game!

Ortogonalis by pjimmy 2015-12-21T22:48:00

Hey there! Thought the game could be cool, but repeating the same level over and over again got old a bit too fast :(

I'd give some more time to switch from one line to another.

One Day I'll Be A Flower by Ovidios 2015-12-30T22:48:00

Hey! Liked this game quite a lot :-)
Had to restart the tutorial a few times because I kept skipping the help tips, those should have a retard.
But the game itself was a very nice mix of skill and management.

great job!

Lifenodes. by Remicy 2015-12-14T22:20:00

Hey there!
I thought the game was super cool. Felt deep and personal.
Art was also great. I would love to see more gameplay features.

From the Deep by scorched 2015-12-30T22:31:00

Hey! Nice game :)
Liked your use of the two buttons and I though the idea of a growing island was kinda cool. Found gameplay a bit dull, but liked the rest.

Mazes of Random by fragileannihilator 2015-12-21T22:15:00

Hey there fellow construct user! :)
Thought the game was nice and the art was good. It was an original concept and choice-making was interesting, perhaps it would be more fun with a little less of randomness.

good job!

Eldritch Trance by TheWzzard 2015-12-30T22:56:00

Simple yet fun, liked your use of the lovecraftian themes :)

Sumou no Kurieta by fafastudio 2015-12-21T22:22:00

Thought the art was nice. Gameplay got boring quite soon :(

Solstand by bloomingbuds 2015-12-15T09:30:00

Hey guys!

Thought the game was pretty cool, specially loved the art style and how well those few sounds work with the mood.

Gameplay felt a bit empty, perhaps it was because the number of actions you can do is quite limited and resource management games usually allow more input, but there's little else you can do in 72 hours.

SNAP! by domo_demo 2015-12-21T23:00:00

Hey there! :)

This game was quite simple but pretty fun and polished.

well done!

NanoBit by Weeping Rupee 2015-12-21T22:30:00

The growing when you're hit concept was kind of nice, but the game lacks a lot of visual feedback when the player jumps, gets hit or shoots an enemy.

BTW, since you aren't using the mouse to aim maybe shooting could be binded to a key.

Play with Dog or Cat by okusho 2015-12-14T22:12:00

Those graphics look aaaawesome. Congrats on doing your first ludum dare! :)

Growing light by Schurtz 2015-12-30T23:05:00

Hey! Congrats on finishing your first game :)
Gameplay had a lot of flaws but it was kinda nice, don't worry, you'll have time to improve. Keep making small projects like these and improving your skills :)

The Climbers by NirabazGAMES 2015-12-30T22:17:00

Hey! Liked this game a lot :)
Reminds me to one of the challenges on "Brothers: A tale of two sons".

Simple, yet polished and fun, well done!

Grow a Beard! by martin-denizet 2015-12-21T22:40:00

The minigames were pretty fun and I thought the overall theme was funny. Some of the games(like the questions) got old pretty quick, some (like the steak one) were quite hard to learn and I found some frustrating bugs.

But I had fun :)

Dude On Fire by voca 2015-12-20T21:56:00

Hey!

Thought the art was cool, gameplay gets frustrating. You have a lot of vertical space that isn't really that useful, while hazards appear on the left and you don't get enough time to react.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Moveless Chess by Beavl 2016-05-09T23:45:00

Like the concept of the game, thought it might have potencial. It would have been awesome if the jam version featured more content.

SLAM_SHIFT by Udell Games 2016-05-09T22:38:00

Like the concept and how hard it is. It's pretty polished so congrats! Really solid entry :-)

Sunshift by guimonpa 2016-05-09T21:59:00

The game is amazing, visuals are super simple yet they fit in perfectly.

Really polished and well-done, level design is fantastic!

MultiShape by Maxxim 2016-05-09T22:13:00

Cool concept! Reminds me to Agrario. Just a few improvements:
- Colors are a bit heavy on the eyes, maybe you could use another palette.
- It would be nice to know the next shape before pressing space.
- I thought some shapes were quite hard to tell.

Cheers!

Puzzles are pretty well done and the graphics are cool. Well done, it's a pretty solid puzzle game :-)

Keysmith's in a hurry! by Felladrin 2016-05-09T23:13:00

I thought it was a cool theme interpretation. Simple but polished and well done. After a few minutes I think it got glitched cause I couldn't click on anything. It's a nice entry anyways :-)

Barber Blues by Tijn 2016-05-09T22:55:00

Thought the game was pretty funny and polished :-)
Art fit the mood and audio is pretty great, well done! :-)

A Story of Hatred by fragileannihilator 2016-05-09T22:59:00

It's polished, art is nice and fits the mood and your audio work was awesome. Only thing was I didn't quite like the jokes in this entry :-/

Chocolate box factory by BoltKey 2016-05-09T22:44:00

Nice puzzle generator, works pretty well. Adding some nice graphics and sounds would turn this into a pretty solid game. Good job! :-)

Run Rainbow Run by djosef 2016-05-09T22:28:00

Got to 100k points and then decided to stop. Game works and is quite polished, so congrats on that! :-)
However it needs a better difficulty curve as the challenge is quite easy.

Rocketmorph by ermrk 2016-05-09T23:09:00

Simple game, but it's fun. Maybe gameplay would have a better feeling with a faster movement, controls don't feel very responsitive.

SUBJECT 26 by MSiddeek 2016-05-09T22:30:00

Really liked the mood and graphics. I would have liked to play deeper puzzles but the one in here do the job pretty well.

Congrats! :-)

Duck by Szabin 2016-05-09T23:06:00

Nice game, simple but polished and pretty fun. Well done! :-)

Infinite Vertices by CoderCameron 2016-05-09T23:03:00

Really liked the mood of the narrative, the simple look and the audio (plus the concept was awesome). But I kept finding weird bugs and at some point my game reseted for apparently no reason :-/

Disarranged by Sheepolution 2016-05-09T22:53:00

Super funny game, I laughed out loud with the ending cinematic. Really well-done entry, good job! :-)

P.D.: Audio was fantastic hahaha

A Mazeshift Title by antglynn 2016-05-09T22:33:00

Wow, really liked this one, I'm quite a puzzle fan and had a really good time with his. Really solid entry, well done! :-)

Party at the Knightclub by Elisée and friends 2016-05-09T22:48:00

Really loved the art and the way you mix 2D and 3D assets. Found the gameplay nice but a bit too clasic. Art and puns were the best of this entry :-)

Shifty Seamus by BlennosoftGames 2016-05-09T23:18:00

Played the game til the end. Performance was a bit bad on my browser and graphics need an upgrade, but the concept was really cool and the levels were well-designed. Enjoyed this game quite a lot :-)

Bloodbearer by emielboven 2016-05-09T22:22:00

Combat could use some improvements to make challenges deeper but the game is quite polished and the art is pretty cool, well done! :-)

Fun Land Of Destiny... Or Something by jaredbruhn 2016-05-09T22:18:00

Thought the concept was interesting enough and the game itself was pretty funny, but maybe there's a bit too much of unskippable dialogue.

Good job anyways! :-)

No Hope In Hell by team_disposable 2016-05-09T22:07:00

I escaped from hell! :-P

Camera scrolling was really confusing and stressful, looking from one side to the other should have a smoother transition.

The game needs to be more polished but it's pretty cool that you did this on your first LD! :-)

cheers!

Shape Shifts by htspencer88 2016-05-09T22:10:00

Nice concept, though some feedback to point out the height of the character would be cool, maybe a simple shadow so it's easier to measure jumps.

Emily Morrison's Garden by Ludipe 2016-09-02T21:35:00

@Sabina Lis : Sorry to hear about that! Glad you enjoyed it anyways, I think it's because of the web version, I must have missed something important in the code :-S

Supercontinent Ltd by Deconstructeam 2016-09-01T15:24:00

Really enjoyed this entry, very polished and with great immersion. The small details trully make a difference (as they always do), like that lightning that changes the whole scene.

I was a bit confused by you being able to press numbers while the ID interface was on, took me a bit to realize it probably was a bug and that I had to disable it before calling.

From a player's perspective, after a few calls you kinda wish you could just click on somebody's name and auto-call them, but I think adding that feature would damage the mood, as pressing the numbers yourself feels important to the whole experience.

Loved the writing, art and audio (so basically everything), awesome work guys! :-)

The Cave of Wonders by Noval33t 2016-09-01T15:07:00

Really enjoyed this entry, it was polished, charming and interesting. There were some super minor bugs (like being able to get duplicates of some items) but they didn't make the experience any less enjoyable.

I liked the fact that puzzles and interactions were pretty logical, nothing like using a chicken and a pulley.

It would have been cool to have some more objects to interact with (not related to puzzles, just for narrative goals).

Congrats on making such a cool game! :-)

Yggdrasil by AnaGF 2016-09-01T17:00:00

Congrats on finishing a solid entry! :-)

As the others said before, controls feel kinda of weird, but I'm sure you could fix that with a bit more of time. Perhaps it would be cool to also improve scrolling a bit (let the player see what's ahead on the direction they're facing).

Clicking on the blue nodes while moving too fast became pretty hard (don't know if that's what you meant), if you were going for something a little bit easier a "warping" button might do the work(since I believe there's never two blue nodes on screen at the same time).

I loved the level design, it featured "different ideas", the main mechanic was used in a wide range of ways, which is pretty cool and refreshing.

Also enjoyed the narrative, which I considered an important part of the game.

Well done! :-D

Write Only by randomhuman 2016-09-01T16:43:00

Very fun game and quite polished, beat it on my second try! :-)

The only thing that really annoyed me while playing was the scroll system. Most times I was targeting a far enemy but the camera wouldn't allow me to see it. Nuclear Throne and many modern 2D shooters tend to scroll in the direction you're facing, that would work great in here.

As other users said before, the A.I. was a really cool feature, probably what makes the whole game stand out.

Quite a cool game! :-D

Amazing art and quite cool sound. Really liked the concept and your take on the theme. It's a super solid entry, polished and fun. Well done! :-)

Welcome to my Room by tinyworlds 2016-12-13T21:21:00

Really liked the hand-drawn graphics and the overall presentation. Perhaps it'd be cool to put those items in different rooms that you can explore in any order; it's always nice to let players express themselves through gameplay, even if they can only choose the order in which they find things. Exploration and discovery are powerful feelings :-)

Oscar's chamber of darkness by nilead 2016-12-13T22:10:00

Pretty cool game. The puzzles were fun and the art is great. I'd consider removing time limitations since it might be too much pressure for some players :-)

At night by Pikas96 2016-12-13T21:34:00

Wow, this was great. Loved how it's confusing and oppressive at first and then how powerful it makes you feel once you start getting faster.

Really cool, well done! :-)

JAMCEPTION by Matlahvi 2016-12-13T11:21:00

Pretty solid entry. Had a lot of fun with it (got "indie voldemort" rank, don't know wether that's good or bad hahaha).

It was pretty polished, the only thing that bugged me a bit is that colliders were a bit too big during minigames. I'd make them a bit smaller.

By the way, loved how all you do is reflected on the sides of the screen :-)

Christmas Time by Jon Reid 2016-12-12T22:45:00

Wow, that was suuuper cool. Really liked the concept. Well done! :-)

Inside the Cube by vinipc 2016-12-14T01:12:00

Really cool entry, nice take on the Fez concept! Left me wanting much more content. Well done! :-)

4th Snail Indoor World Championship by Hores 2016-12-12T23:03:00

Were those procedurally generated comments? They were pretty cool.

Liked the overall concept :-)

Termite Wars by eflosten 2016-12-13T23:17:00

Thought this was a pretty interesting iteration of the mechanics in "Galcon". The space between nodes is wider so there's a wider range of strategies.

I also liked your take on the theme.

It's polished, fun and a really cool entry :-)

The Oval Office by Zener 2016-12-12T23:21:00

Cool take on Reign's mechanics.
Completed this on my first run and thought it was pretty fun.

Sweet Home by JuDelCo 2016-12-15T00:48:00

It's a nice concept. Would play a more polished version of it.

Movement on this one was a bit too slow and frustrating; I believe being able to act faster and go from one place to another would make the overall experience more fun.

Congrats on completing it! :-)

Quentin by Mark Overmars 2016-12-13T21:15:00

Made it to world 4. The core mechanic is pretty cool and level design is great, though this game stressed me quite a lot haha (I think audio is to blame for that).

It's super polished and it's has an amazing amount of content, super fun entry, congrats! :-D

By the way, loved using small exploits (like swaping into a place where there's a block to get on top of it) to complete levels faster.

Roach Escape by Ithildin 2016-12-13T21:57:00

Quite fun puzzle game. Had a hard time at the beginning because I couldn't spot the black lines that make you turn (they're a little bit too thin).

The rest was easy to understand. I think I didn't use most "arrows" in every level, it'd be nice if I knew how many I need for the optimal solution. That way players would keep trying to find the best solution.

It was a really nice entry with enough content, congrats on finishing it! :-)

Mindspace by metaldemon 2016-12-13T21:27:00

Nice artsy game. Easy to relate to. The ending felt quite powerful. Only had some minor optimization issues (fps dropped as I played).

Would be cool to have some kind of small interaction (even if it changed nothing).

Well done! :-)

Tangent by rxi 2016-12-13T00:14:00

Super fun and challenging. Loved the art and level design :-)

General Room by jeroenwimmers 2016-12-14T14:24:00

Really innovative and fun game. It's super polished and the art is great (loved your take on the theme).

Well done! :-)

NINJA ROOM by josemwarrior 2016-12-13T23:08:00

Cool game! Played it a couple of times and it's really fun. Liked the camera effect, it's a simple detail that enhances the overall experience. Well done! :-)

Sonder by Ludipe 2016-12-12T00:40:00

@Truck

Yeah, I had many doubts regarding the placing system; it really could use some more iteration.

About the ending, you said it, I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to.

Thanks for the feedback! :-)

Waiting Room - The Game by NinjaPatBeck 2016-12-13T22:21:00

Another game about waiting rooms! :-P
It's a fun concept. I kept thinking: "Should I leave? Perhaps they'll call me now."
Cool idea!

the room by rogueNoodle 2016-12-13T22:48:00

Liked the minimalist looks of the game. The main mechanic is fun and original. Would probably play a longer version, there might be some cool puzzles with this concept.

I love your usual hardcore arcade games, but seeing something different was also pretty neat :-)

Room 007 by Lancelot Gao 2016-12-14T12:28:00

Really cool puzzle game. Liked your take on the theme and those homemade sound effects. It's also super polished and fun, well done! :-)

Local Exhibition by kiv 2016-12-13T23:31:00

Didn't really understand what I was doing but that made the experience more charming, going from one room to the next, interacting with the different items and trying to figure out what was happening.

The art is pretty simple but I liked the style (and it fited the concept).

Would have liked to be able to further interact with some items.

It's a pretty cool entry, congrats! :-)

Ernő & Rubï by Mike Mezhenin 2016-12-13T11:56:00

Wow, this is really cool.
The art is awesome and I enjoyed toying around with the different settings. Well done! :-)

wow, just wow, this was an incredible concept perfectly executed. Would love to read a postmortem about this.

Ghouls by roban101 2016-12-12T23:46:00

Liked the concept and had fun with the game. It'd be nice to have some warning about enemy spawns, they can spawn over you and that feels kinda unfair.

The Archwizard's Room by uheartbeast 2016-12-14T00:10:00

It's a really cool game. Polished and with some great art and sound. Would love to see a expanded version.

It's a cool idea. Having two different mechanics you need to pay attention to.

Room One by Yamzho 2016-12-12T23:55:00

Pretty fun game. Loved the presentation and the art. Well done! :-)

Correct Color by gogo199432 2016-12-14T00:33:00

I liked the concept and the take on the theme (plus it was super polished). Reminds me of that experiment in which subjects are asked by a scientist to shock other subjects (most people do based on authority).

Liked how you use the "eat->sleep" loop to reinforce monotony.

The only thing I might change is the floor-tile test, I didn't feel like it really fit the overall experience.

Anyway, it's a really nice entry, congrats on finishing it! :-)

One-Room-For-All Hotel by ManuSaiz 2016-12-15T00:21:00

Nice take on the theme and quite fun. Felt I didn't have much control over the action since walls take too long to build. Still managed to score 700 points. I think that a more reponsive input would enhance the experience.

Cool entry! :-)

RITUAL by larkkkattack 2016-12-13T22:57:00

The game has a nice feel and its presentation (with the dark room and the light just in the middle of it) is pretty cool.

Getting bullied by those green squares on the first round was kinda amusing (really liked that).

After 2-3 waves something went wrong and it wouldn't let me keep playing.

I assume that a longer version would be about your relationship with the AI or whatever is asking you those questions. Might be cool. Glad to know you'll finish it :-)

THE ROOM by Genpaku 2016-12-12T23:33:00

Simple and cool point & click adventure. Would be nice to have some hotspots indicators.

ONE ROOM - DANCE CLUB by cgd11 2016-12-13T22:29:00

Really liked the core concept and how well design and art fit together.

It's pretty innovative, the only thing that bugged me was having to set the sliders after each guy (would be nice if they stayed where I left them).

It's a really solid entry, congrats on finishing it! :-)

FIIL Mark 37 by martincohen 2016-12-14T01:07:00

The game is super polished and the art is fantastic. Had a hard time understanding how everything works, but overall is a super solid entry, well done! :-)

Really cool concept. Took me a while to figure out how to break the loop. Well done, it's awesome! :-)

Crown Room by Mithreindeir 2016-12-12T23:15:00

Feels like an old-school arcade game. It's pretty fun and cool, though I didn't quite understand your take on the theme.

What happened to Michael? by BubsyPoochies 2016-12-13T11:34:00

Loved the art, mood and story on this entry.
As others already said, it'd be nice to skip dialogs.
I'd like to be able to highlight hotspots, though that's more of a personal preference.
I also was a bit confused by some interactions; I'd click on something and the character would say "Not now" (but I didn't even knew what I was clicking on).

But all these are minor details, I really enjoyed the game! Well done! :-)

Good Impression by Ellian 2016-12-14T00:39:00

It was pretty nice :-)

Ignorance is Bliss by Aurel300 2017-12-22T12:31:20Z

The beginning of the game was a bit slow and painful, that said, it's amazing. I digged a lot the presentation and overall aesthetic. It's also super polished, well done! :-)

Clicker Thingie by ludipe 2017-12-05T14:11:12Z

@seannoonan Love long comments, thanks for taking the time to give me feedback! :-)

**I’m not a huge fan of these games -** Me neither, but I think there's cool things we can do with clickers and I want to explore them at some point. This was kind of "let's just make a quick one".

**...so you managed to hold my attention for a couple of minutes :) -** I figured that, since it was going to be such a simple game, my goal was to hold player's attention for a while.

**The narrative is bizarre and shows a lot of character, it’s a shame you didn’t add any melancholic music to the background -** You're totally right, I'm afraid this was one of those very rare jams where I totally skipped audio.

**was curious what determined the eye closing -** It depends on the amount of scales you've taken out so far.

**I felt like planks and hanging planks should be removed from the shop once they’ve all been bought -** Yeah, that's missing and it's confusing.

**It would have also been nice to be able to sell or upgrade factories -** Yup, I was going to add that kind of tool but I had to check if there were factories above the one you wanted to sell. I think it was pretty important but I cut it off due to the lack of time. My first concept of this game involved factores of different sizes that were affected by the factories they had on their sides, but I understimated all the interface work I had to do.

**Bugs encountered -** Just saw them, they seem to be easy to fix, just small things I missed, so I should be able to get rid of them soon enough.

**Out of curiosity, was this built in Construct 2 or Construct 3? -** Construct 2, I've been terribly busy lately and I still need to check how Construct 3 is going. C2 is reliable, has a nice desktop app and is the one I'm comfortable with. I'll move to C3 at some point though.

Curse of Greed by Sophie Houlden 2017-12-22T12:26:36Z

Cool polished platformer. I'm always blown away by this pico8 entries. It was tight and fun. I thought the core mechanic was quite clever, though perhaps it'd be more interesting to have some way to use those coins, that way players would need to take lots of risk-reward decisions.

Eight More Drinks, Please by rplnt 2017-12-11T21:08:37Z

Hey there! Liked the concept of the game, using only left/right to balance the dish was a bit confusing though, sometimes the glass was about to fall in a different direction and it was hard to guess the button I needed to push. Looks like it could be a cool small arcade game.

I'm Driving My Truck by vilcans 2017-12-28T11:25:20Z

This was hilarious. Loved the hand-made assets and the music.

It was hard and physics felt wonky but it fitted the whole mood, so that wasn't an issue at all.

Well done! Had a lot of fun with this one :-)

Jazzy Beats by Moski 2017-12-28T10:21:58Z

Both audio and art were superb. I also liked the concept and the presentation (plus it was super polished).

Felt like it needed a little more of depth gameplay-wise, felt like the old punch and run strategy was the only viable solution to win the fight.

Anyway, well done guys! :-)

Famous Knight by Lucas Ferrantelli 2017-12-28T11:04:01Z

Cool game. You were able to make a lot of polished content, congrats on making such a solid entry!

The game looks quite nice and it's really fun (btw, loved that voice acting).

The only thing I didn't really dig was happing to repeat levels to progress.

Anyway, it's a really cool and polished game. Well done!

CalligraTree by Roaring Cat Games 2017-12-28T10:31:11Z

Wow, this is lovely. Enjoyed a lot playing around and making trees. Super cool. I got a "out of memory" error once but that didn't happen again.

I think I'd like the game even more if it was a bit slower, I felt too rushed sometimes.

Really solid entry. Well done guys! :-)

Sheperdy! by loveapplegames 2017-12-28T11:46:15Z

Fun game, though it was quite cool. You managed to implement a lot of different mechanics and levels.

SUPER COP HERO by Finlal 2017-12-28T10:43:21Z

Super fun and polished game. Loved it. Specially like how challenging it was. On my first few tries I only managed to survive a couple of seconds.

There's just three small issues I noticed. There's no feedback for the roll cooldown, the quick reload feels a bit unresponsive and I think the "game over" screen should contain your highscore.

But that's pretty much all, fun and polished. Super solid entry.

Potion Commotion by boaheck-artgent 2017-12-09T18:24:49Z

Hi there! Solid entry over here, congrats on finishing such a nice game :-) Here are some comments about it:

- Controls weren't super tight but still pretty impressive for a jam.

- Level design was simple but it still works pretty well. I like how you eased backtracking to the central area. Avoid placing colliders on top of the character's head before jumps, those are always quite frustrating. Also avoid placing blocked areas within reach (people will try getting there).

- Liked the cellshaiding effect, the palette worked but maybe there's too much grey stuff on screen.

- It's rather polished, I didn't run into major bugs.

- It's a solid game, perhaps its weakest point is that is lacking any kind of twist. It's polished and nice, but there isn't anything new/personal that catches the player's attention (in terms of gameplay, art or narrative).

Drift Punk by CremaGames 2017-12-09T12:40:54Z

Super solid entry, I've been playing it for a while. Congrats on doing such an amazing job! :-) Some more notes about it:

- Art direction and music were superb.

- Hooray for crazy taxi-like games.

- Thought it was pretty polished, didn't find any major bugs.

- The waypoint thing is always problematic in driving games. One smart solution (that Crazy Taxi already did) is show you a picture of the place you're supposed to go (hotel, restaurant, church, etc). After a few games you pretty much know the city layout, so knowing the place where I need to know is even more useful than an arrow that tell me when to turn.

- The game was a bit laggy on my laptop, but that's probably because it's already a bit old.

- Controls didn't feel really tight for me, maybe the bike should be heavier.

- I was impressed with how charming the city felt for a jam game, I was expecting something more generic.

Temple of Greed by fusionnist 2017-12-09T19:51:42Z

That was a pretty solid platformer, couldn't finish it cause I got the beginning of the game after opening almost every gate (missed the brown one) and for some reason I couldn't climb up ladders again and got stuck. I thought is was pretty fun, here's some thoughts about it:

- As said before, controls are pretty well-made but making players double tap to dash should be avoided.

- The artstyle was charming, though stages and character/items didn't seem to fit that well together.

- UI was a bit hard to read.

- I was confused about which artifacts openned which gates.

- It was pretty fun and engaging. Don't know if it needs more hazards or I just play too many platformer games.

- Only found one major bug (the one that kept me from finishing the game). Putting that aside, the game is quite polished.

INFINITORY by electr1ca 2017-12-28T11:37:14Z

The game is quite fun and the concept was pretty interesting.

I completed most of the game without dropping a single item, which made me think that maybe there should be more hazards that punished you if you were carrying too many. That would make players have to choose which to leave behind.

Congrats on doing such a polished entry.

Zealot by fasterthanlime 2017-12-05T15:51:07Z

I had seen gifs on twitter and decided to give it a try. Really liked the game, it's super fun, good work! :-)

Some notes on it:

- As others said, you need to zoom out to choose difficulty on smaller screens.

- I like that each player gets different cards, but it's too hard to balance a game like that. The priest is the best card (cause destroying cards or stealing an already-placed priest isn't as effective), so having more priests than the other is already a great leverage, maybe at least both players should have the same amount of priests.

- AI works great and the customization is highly appreaciated.

- Would love to play this on local multiplayer (if this is already available I missed it). AI is great but, once you find a working strategy, it's usually easy to repeat it; something that wouldn't happen as often with another human player.

- Really cool card design that fits the game.

- Overall amazing game, played 4-5 rounds and I'll be coming back to it later.

NoteBoy by carlosvVk 2017-12-04T23:57:46Z

Liked the concept, thought it was quite fun. I managed to hold up until I had four guys to take care of (though this was super hard using a trackpad).

As somebody else said before, input felt laggy and frustrating. Mostly because the event that triggers jumping is releasing the mouse button, switching that to the "on press" event should improve the input. There are a couple of tiny rough details about how input works, but that's the most annoying one.

I played on a laptop using my trackpad, so it was extremely hard to go from one character to the next in time, perhaps it'd be cool to assign each character to a key (maybe even change them everytime) instead of using the mouse.

These are just some minor details to polish the game, keep up the good work! :-)

BIGHEAD by Paulo Brunassi 2017-12-28T09:54:12Z

Fun game, I played it a couple of times. Liked the small details, like the short rotation on the running animation.

Rebel Call by SeanNoonan 2017-12-09T12:13:48Z

Liked the concept of the game and the overall presentation, using that parallax to make buildings look taller looked great.

- I think the abstract representation fitted the theme really well.

- The levels were pretty linear, so speedrunning through them felt the natural thing to do. The game's description encouraged me to revisit citizens but that didn't feel like the optimal strategy.

- It was super polished, I didn't find any bugs.

- The core gameplay seemed to need an additional mechanic to feel complete. Could be interesting to take this project and experiment adding new mechanics.

It's a very solid entry.

Bunnyfication by dekart 2017-12-28T09:17:24Z

Both art and animations were super cute. I liked the concept, unfortunately, I couldn't get too far because the "quest menu" icon wasn't working on my PC, it just kept dropping carrots on the ground.

Running With Scissors by Daze 2017-12-28T11:11:18Z

Loved the concept and the execution. Art is great, gameplay is fun and it's super polished.

Well done, this was such a great game, I'll probably come back later to it and keep playing :-)

The Sun Revolves Around ME! by blu3bird 2017-12-28T09:44:58Z

I thought this was a really cool concept (plus the art was nice). I couldn't make the rope shorter or longer, might be related to my laptop layout, "weird keys" sometimes don't work on all computers.

Mortal Komba by kokirisandfriends 2017-12-06T00:36:44Z

Lovely game, great art and super polished :-)

Congrats on doing such a great job.

The only thing I missed (and this is a tiny detail) was input buffer. I managed to get to 41 jumps and, when the rope goes too fast, you press a key to jump but the character doesn't jump because it's gonna land in the next frame. It'd be great to have some kind of buffer that autojumped if I land on the floor a few frames after pressing jump, the same trick is used with platform games all the time.

But, as said earlier, that's just some minor polish thing. You did an amazing job! :-)

The wreck of the Pulstar-VIII by Oceanosaurus 2017-12-11T00:23:27Z

Super solid entry, congrats on finishing it while taking care of your students! Thought the game was quite fun, I enjoyed getting to the end. That said, here are some thoughts:

- The artstyle was simple but it worked really well. - My first instinct was getting to know these people I was going to kill, but the characters felt quite shallow and asking everybody about everybody was tedious. Making deeper characters would have been hard, specially during a jam. Perhaps reading reports about each member of the crew would have been a more pleasant way of showing more information. Then again, it was a short jam game, super tough to achieve this. - I don't know if you can do this on renpy, but adding some input delay would be nice, I missclicked dialogue options a few times. - I really liked your take on the theme.

Once again, well done! :-)

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Omelettes by stevenjmiller 2018-12-28T10:31:30Z

Big puzzle fun over here. Loved the concept, level design and presentation. Lots of clever things there. The only thing that didn't really let me enjoy it was height representation, it was quite hard to tell which height each tile had. Maybe they should have different color sets.

Model Trains Inc by Local Minimum 2018-12-28T15:46:10Z

I found this game super relaxing, don't know if that was intended, but I loved chilling out while seeing trains go around. I killed lots of people, not on purpose, but I felt like it rarely was in my hands to save them (as they would get on the tracks way too fast). Anyway, it's pretty cool, always fun to play managing trains around.

The Saver by dunin 2018-12-28T17:37:35Z

Really cool platformer game. I liked the concept a lot and the art style is simple but fits really well. The checkpoint system made some sections a bit frustrating but congrats on finishing the jam, it's great!

Occult Defence Agency Budgeting Simulator by Zarkonnen 2018-12-28T10:13:03Z

Lovely concept. I really liked the whole presentation and feel of it. It's simple but it works really well. Only thing I'd change is reducing max budget a bit more, I could afford so many things that my decisions didn't feel as meaningful.

bouncy arts by wowa 2018-12-28T09:51:16Z

Awesome game and super fun to play. It's polished, has good game feel and plenty of subtle visual indicators that work pretty well.

There are two very minor things that I noticed. First, I might lower gravity after using a slow-motion push. I think it'd feel better and give more power and control. The other thing was levels, I feel like this game works way better in more compact levels.

Anyway, great jo,b it's super good. Congrats.

Jesus Take the Wheel by PeachTreeOath 2018-12-28T15:22:39Z

That was an hilarious take on the theme. Had a fun time with it. I like how on every checkpoint you get to choose the new car that will appear on the road.

Inked warrior by Artem Kuzhenkin 2018-12-28T15:38:57Z

The art on this game was lovely!

Göldin by Paul_P1 2018-12-28T15:58:03Z

I'm not sure what I just played but loved the feeling. Art was pretty good and I always enjoy unorthodox input systems.

Consilium - A history of life and choices by Gaming Night 2018-12-28T10:25:26Z

Loved the art, like a lot. I didn't dig the mechanics too much, some more depth would be appreciated, but what pushed me away was the pace. The art and concept of the game inspired a more relaxed mood, while the mechanics took me in a way different direction.

Not Me! by Gio- 2018-12-28T10:00:16Z

I like the concept though I felt lost most of the times, thinking I was choosing victims with barely any clues at all. With some more deduction challenges this could be pretty cool. Also, I'd consider choosing a different artstyle, with the swiping mechanics it reminds way too much to Reigns.

Anyway, cool work. Hope you take this further.

Food Chainz by hannaesthetic 2018-12-28T11:03:43Z

Wow, that was a dark take on the theme haha. The whole game feels super polished, like A LOT. Loved the subtle camera movement, the battle intros and animations. It feels very alive.

Gameplay felt weaker though. It's a rhythm game, but the rhythm is always pretty much the same and, while the audio is nice, music is probably not as charismatic as one would expect from a game like this. I'd say this is missing some extra element to make it truly unique, whether that's a more interesting soundtrack or a twist in the mechanics.

Anyway, these are minor things. The game is quite fun and very polished. It just needs something different that sets it apart from similar games. Congrats on finishing the jam!

The Pursuit of Profit by jcroisant 2018-12-28T14:59:31Z

Cool take on the theme. Loved the artstyle. I think the whole thing would improve with a faster pace. Also, the robot physics created some weird graphical glitches, but I was still able to finish it. Congrats! :-)

Rafture by Marcos Donnantuoni 2018-12-28T10:42:31Z

Love the dark take on the theme. The game is pretty nice, though most of the levels felt a bit shallow. It's not a huge issue since the game is short.

Well done!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Matchstick Elegy by stevenjmiller 2020-04-27T11:23:36Z

Really liked the core concept and the level design. Really good and solid. The presentation seemed a bit weak though and I found the visual representation of the duration meter (of burning items) a bit unintuitive. It's still an amazing puzzle game, well done!

Fade of Life by Sheepolution 2020-04-27T11:03:48Z

Cool game! The flipping effect was pretty cute and I liked how you played with background opacity. The take on the theme was cool too. Gameplay ends up being a bit too shallow.

Cities Of Wonder by Franklins Ghost 2020-05-05T17:33:07Z

Hey there! Loved the art, the aesthetics and the setting. I think the gameplay was too shallow and not very interesting or playful. It'd be amazing to take that big interface with all those buttons and the character dancing in the background and put some other mechanics in there.

Efi by ludipe 2020-04-20T01:06:11Z

Hi @goblinqueen, thanks for the comment! Direction actually works as intended. That input awkwardness from snake-like games was one of the things I was aiming for.

Efi by ludipe 2020-04-20T10:27:40Z

Hi @verttixpertti! I actually tried mouse (and other input schemes) at first, but I felt the game wasn't that fun at all. Having a movement that was slightly awkward made it more interesting. I believe the clunkiness might be a result of having a way too high steer speed (maybe?) but I was having some issues designing interesting levels with a lower one. It's tricky. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Keeper of the Flame by nickavv 2020-04-27T10:54:39Z

Loved the concept and the art. I didn't find the levels too engaging though. The jetstreams weren't too deep as a mechanic (wait and run, wait and run, etc) and the game relied on them for most of the gameplay (which I'm sure it's due to the jam time limit). It's all super polised btw. Well done!

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-27T11:56:23Z

The game is super good. Very polished and fun. I like the pace, the clever tricks (like the slopes) and the overal mood/narrative. I just wish it was a bit deeper, resource management never seems to be an issue and I didn't feel there was any real risk. Those are some minor stuff. Good job with this game!

The Keep! It's Alive! by minibobbo 2020-04-27T14:49:52Z

I really like the concept and pretty much everything about the hands (switching from one to the other, using it to stomp the ground, etc). The art is cute too. I think the weakest point is balance (which is always tricky during a jam), levels didn't feel too engaging, they usually felt either too easy or impossible to complete with 3 stars. It'd be cool to see a post-jam version.

Apple Factory of the Insatiable by nanolotl 2020-04-27T11:43:48Z

Really loved this game. Kept playing until the monster was asking for 45 apples. I like how many combinations seem too powerful, it was fun playing with those. I felt it was a bit too easy though, but that might be my personal taste.

B R U I S E S by leafthief 2020-05-05T16:51:45Z

Hi there! I really really really loved the art-style and the overall mood. It's just amazing. The color palette is great and some details like how you crafted the dialogues are really good.

Despite that gameplay kept pulling me out of the experience. I usually have a hard time with point and click games where the story is so cool that I just want to explore the world. But the puzzles on this one were quite obscure. Would love to see a full game featuring this vibe but without pixel-hunting or traditional puzzles.

ADRENA-LINE by managore 2020-04-21T18:37:58Z

I really liked the concept. You created something very engaging given the time you had. The stages where you can get locked by moving in the wrong direction felt a bit frustrating but I guess it's a fair punishment for moving before analyzing the whole layout.

Elevator Orator by Le Slo 2020-04-27T11:12:05Z

Loved the concept and the presentation. I found the initial screen too confusing, even after playing a few times and getting to floor 20 there were some moments where I didn't fully understood why something happened. I think the core mechanic is pretty cool, but the introduction could be a bit smoother. Overall it's a super solid game. Well done!

À la Fenêtre by DocGeraud 2020-05-05T16:24:40Z

5/5 I would have gladly paid for this. Though there were a few times where navigation was confusing, I really liked how you used footprints.

The voice narration feels like the soul of the game, it was super cool to have it (even though I don't speak French).

I really enjoyed it.

Advise the King by Arden 2020-05-05T15:50:20Z

Hi there! Loved playing this one feels super polished and it feel extremely tight for a jam game. Here are some notes I took while playing it.

- Overall it doesn't feel like I'm making too many meaningful decisions (specially on the early levels). Seems like there aren't many ways I can screw up. I can play in a way that's far from optimal and still progress. Also, when I pick card upgrades, I usually get lots of cards to choose from but, in most cases, my decisions weren't shapping my deck a lot. - The levels seem a bit too big. To feel in danger I usually have to be sorrounded by a large amount of enemies. - It'd be super nicel to see where all the enemies are moving with one button/command (right now you have to put your mouse over each one and this is a bit frustrating in later levels). - I thought the "danger music" was too jarring.

These are some small notes. I enjoyed the game and I'd be interesting in a bigger version. Good job!

Tower Defence of the Heart by terry 2020-04-27T10:40:51Z

I enjoyed this! Specially trying different set ups. I like how you can freely add and remove defenses. It was a fun game but I kinda kept wishing there was a mechanical twist to the tower defense formula.

Cursor by MiracL 2020-05-05T17:01:11Z

Solid and very fun. Filled with elegant design decisions. Good job!

If this was to be a bigger game after the jam, it'd be great to have some mechanical twists besides being able to control multiple cursors.

The negotiator by Belea 2020-04-21T18:51:26Z

I really liked the overall mood of the game and it was very polished. Plus we need more games featuring old Nokia phones. I think that the feature I miss the most is having more values to balance (similar to Reigns), the management side felt a bit shallow with just one. Finished it on the first attempt :-P

Congrats on finishing such a polished thing in 2 days!

Mother Hen by beepyeah 2020-04-27T11:17:44Z

Love the concept. It's really fun. I think a timer would make sense (or have eggs lose life every x seconds). I don't know, it seemed like the game was more interesting when I was rushing. Just waiting and doing everything slowly seemed like a dominant strategy.

DEBUGGER by randomnine 2020-04-27T12:06:06Z

I really liked the concept of the game and the artstyle. I beat the game on the first try and none of my inputs broke down, I found it a bit too easy. It might be cool to force some input to stop working at some point. It's a solid game overall. Good job!

Zoo keeper by Team-on 2020-05-05T16:02:58Z

Art and setting are suuuuuuper cute. Really liked that. Audio fits in well too. I liked the small wario-like minigames, even though some times it was a bit too hard to figure out what to do in such a short time window (like the one with the pandas). It'd be great to see the hint text for a few seconds before the minigame started.

KiTa by MKRaw 2020-05-05T17:12:44Z

Hi there! This feels like a solid and fun game. It was a bit sluggish on Firefox, but still playable. It's polished and the main mechanic, though it's simple, it feels really freshed out. Good job!

Pogo by Motley 2020-04-21T19:00:16Z

I thought it was really fun. Managed to score 36000 points before a giraffe got me haha. I thought the movement mechanics were quite interesting and deep. Would love to try this on multiplayer at some point. Good job!

Box Of Limes by RedDashGames 2020-04-27T10:42:57Z

Loved this game! The art is great and building your own stage using tetris mechanics feels super good. Well done!

Keep the Heart Alive by QYOUK 2020-05-05T17:43:22Z

Hi there! I liked the concept and the presentation. I think being able to move the heart around was specially interesting. I found a bit annoying to have to press space the whole time to move around. Overall it feels solid for a jam, good job!

This Website Will Self-destruct (dot) com by FemmeAndroid 2020-05-04T16:02:24Z

I love this so much. Probably my favorite thing to come out of this Ludum Dare. Really wish we'd see more entries like this.

Can't say much more about it. It's great!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Time Surge 2: Clean Up Time by HitchH1k3r 2020-10-20T19:19:11Z

Hi there! This was a cool puzzle game. I was playing it on Firefox and it got a bit tricky, the further I made it into the loop, the more my pc would stutter. I guess that was because of all the calculations it had to do as Chrono expanded.

The rest was pretty enjoyable, I liked the concept and I loved how everything is one big connected space. The art and audio were nice.

I was a bit confused about my goal and the actual mechanics at first, the walkthrough video was quite handy in hinting the first steps.

LoopyDraw by sanojian 2020-10-21T16:57:37Z

This was such a neat idea! Can't add much more to it, it's fun to draw using these restrictions and it's even more fun to draw around other pictures, seeing what players made and creating a collective thing.

Sushi for Robots by ludipe 2020-10-04T22:29:13Z

@zachary-barbanell I think you have to wait another day (once the whole jam ends) before being able to rate games.

Sushi for Robots by ludipe 2020-10-05T10:53:49Z

@zachary-barbanell Thanks for playing and for the feedback! You nailed it. I don't know why I thought about using those icons for portals.

con-junc-tion by gentoogames 2020-10-20T20:44:27Z

Great job on finishing a 2.5D game on game maker during a jam. That was impressive! I really appreciated that you allowed players to access the help screen at any point (there was quite a lot of information to absorb). The graphics looked charming and I think this had a lot of personality. Also, I'm terrible at this game, soooooo many accidents.

Multitasking by FelixMcFelix 2020-10-20T22:43:55Z

Hi there! I really enjoyed this game. I like puzzle games and the presentation of this one is lovely (simple but works really well). It'd be cool to see where you'd take this with more levels. It'd also be great to have an undo button and if moving in a blocked direction didn't count as a turn. But those are minor things, like I said, I enjoyed the game.

Operation Rewind by lilkrit 2020-10-20T23:15:44Z

Hey, I beat the big boss and found the tales from the loop easter egg :-P The physics were a bit too floaty and weightless, but I liked your ideas for the different levels and all that you accomplished with a limited collection of visual assets. I had fun playing this one.

Dogs Memes For Safety by Theo Ark 2020-10-20T20:30:53Z

Hi there! I clicked on this game because I loved the title. I liked the premise, though collisions made the experience a bit frustrating. It'd be really cool to have some sort of extra feedback when you pick up a dog.

QLOOP by PapyKent 2020-10-21T15:21:37Z

Hi there! I really liked this game, very charming. Gave me some roguelike vibes (broughlike vikes actually). I loved the premise and the personality of the game. It'd be great to have the tutorial in-game but the only real issue that I had with it was having to keep looking at the bottom of the screen the whole time to remember the next action. It'd be great if the next action was hinted around the main character. I could see myself playing a more polished version of this where your actions change/evolve as you get more points. Good job!

SUNSTYX by Jasper Hansen 2020-10-20T22:37:14Z

I really loved the art style and the overall vibes of the game. It could be a bit more explained but I picked it up after one try. The thing I missed the most was some kind of "punch" or extra feedback triggered when asteroids where destroyed. Sound/music design was amazing by the way. Subtle but really good.

The Dungeon's Loop by Vesk 2020-10-21T15:55:43Z

Hi there! I managed to beat the boss and complete the game. The game feels pretty finished. Yes, it'd be great to have walking animations and there were some tiny issues here and there, but it felt pretty good and the concept works quite well. You managed to implement lots of different enemy types (on top of the final boss). Can't add much more to that, well done!

Loopin' Gluey by marcmagus 2020-10-21T11:53:49Z

Hi there! It always a pleasant surprise to see physical games submitted to the jam. I had to play this on my own since I didn't have anyone around to test it. The rules were clear but it'd be great if there were some additional diagrams or sketches (just to clarify the whole thing for players and make sure everything is understood).

I think the game relied a bit too much on random or luck, but that actually comes down to taste. There are plenty of games that are more luck-based than others and still work great. By the way, I appreciated how you only used common things (like a standard card deck) for this.

RENT by Jam373 2020-10-21T16:13:39Z

Hi there! I thought this was very unique and charming (as well as super grim). I enjoyed it a lot, but I had some trouble with interaction. I appreciated having input tips (like when the game tells you to use the arrow keys or press space), but the rules/goals weren't always clear. I had to stop at the maze, I couldn't figure it out, I thought I would have to pick the right corridors using the bloodstains or the framed pictures, but I couldn't manage to complete that part. Again, I thought this had a very cool and unique personality. I wish I could have finished it. Good job on implementing all these things with such a tight deadline!

The Hanging Tree by Grommel 2020-10-20T21:41:45Z

I really didn't expect a 3D platformer with that intro haha. I liked the swing concept, it reminded me of Verlet Swing. I also like how you used a limited color palette and a small asset collection to build an environment (which looked really nice). I didn't find any glitches. Good job on finishing this on such a tight deadline!

Stuck in a TIME loop by mira 2020-10-20T23:23:22Z

I tried for a while but I couldn't reach the end of the level (though I was close). I liked the tone, the jokes and the overall presentation. Platforming was a bit frustrating though, the character would glitch on most runs (after landing on a platform it'd still display its falling animation and not allow me to jump).

Life Of Crime by HKSpadez 2020-10-20T21:23:45Z

That is an incredible amount of assets. I loved all the tiny details that where in the game, like how cars moved during introduction or the mansion you get to see at the end. I failed a few times but it was quite hilarious. The comedy bits (like when you kill the janitor to get the manager's key) fit in quite well.

The Calamity Coil by WobbleBlocks 2020-10-20T21:07:10Z

Always loved first-person dungeon crawlers. I liked the small details in this one, like "hiding" part of the interface on the shield or having small narrative bits. It'd be great if enemies got stunned after a hit, it was a bit frustrating when I made my way to an archer, hitted him and I was hitted back before my character fully recovered.

Skicret Agent by SachaWitto 2020-10-21T16:43:13Z

I got big Superhot vibes from the plain colors and the bullet trails. I think this was a fun concept and I really loved the presentation, but I wish there was a way to speed up the rewind. But that's all, again, really liked the personality of the game and the spy theme.

black_box by Fraxle 2020-10-20T21:31:28Z

Overall it's super polished. Like the others said, huge Among Us vibes haha. Anyway, this was quite fun and I didn't run into any big issues. Good job!

Grotinger by RizekCajk 2020-10-20T19:31:27Z

I didn't know what to expect when I started this game and I enjoyed the secrets and the plot-twists. Also, pushing enemies into lava was really fun. I usually either shoved them or just avoid them. It gets a bit grindy in the end, but it's still a cool game. I didn't really understand why potions didn't turn into hearts as soon as they were picked up (since it seemed as I could have as many hearts as I wanted).

FRUITFLY by frecklebars 2020-10-13T23:41:08Z

Hi there! I'm sure some players would prefer if this game had more puzzles or minigames, but I actually enjoyed the simple routine of it. Didn't feel like it needed a much more deep interaction. I thought the art style was very nice as well as the mood. The ending and the bit with the shadow character felt a bit too lose (at least for my taste). Overall, it's really polished.

Hi there! Managed to get a score of 150. Good job on finishing this for the jam. It'd be great if there was more feedback when you clicked on characters and some additional mechanics (like characters you can't click on), but I totally understand this is a jam and nobody ends up adding everything they'd want to.

RAIL LIES by Dazrow 2020-10-20T22:53:09Z

I liked the overall vibes of the game, but I wasn't able to get past the first puzzle. I was sure there was some twist I wasn't seeing, but I was really confused. I made a few guesses, tried different suitcases, then tried pressing the colors in the order the character said them. I tried going in both directions. Anyway, I probably missed something in here, but I kept on trying and I wasn't able to figure it out (sorry!).

Keep Inside by davidB 2020-10-21T17:11:32Z

I love when simple games work so well. Got me to play a few times, it's quite fun. Would love to see some progression (ball going faster and maybe some color changes like in super hexagon).

Endless by Retro Hammer 2020-10-20T23:03:55Z

Making games about these issues is always hard and especially during a jam. Overall I think the game does a good job at conveying the core feelings. And I felt that ending the experience with a message of hope (or support) is really important (like you did here) and not everyone does that when talking about such harsh themes. Anyway, good job making this. By the way, I'd probably remove the part where you talk your game down for being made during a jam. It's a nice experience and I didn't think that last bit was necessary.

Birder x Runner by Local Minimum 2018-05-01T12:31:38Z

Nice combination of mechanics. I'd suggest adding more feedback to player input (let them know when they nail the press or fail horribly). I'd also consider placing the "walking bar" closer to the center of the screen. Congrats on finishing the game in time!

WITCHSΔVER by Tymus 2018-04-23T22:44:09Z

OMG! JUST TRIED THIS AND IT'S THE BEST THING EVER!

... (tries to calm down)

I reeeeeeaallly love the fact that you made a game/screensaver. SUPER cool. Gameplay, graphics and sound and super well done as well.

Wordelicious by ludipe 2018-04-23T13:51:20Z

@javicepa I hate myself for mapping backspace to the left key as well (don't know if that helps :-P)

On some browsers pressing backspace takes you to the previous page, I couldn't figure out a way to block that so I had to remap that.

Wordelicious by ludipe 2018-04-24T07:56:38Z

@Lyxil Using backspace can be quiet a pain in web-games. Many browsers will take you to the previous page and close the game, that's why I had to map it to a different key (I know it's not the best solution though).

@toboggan Yeah, being able to check out the rules during gameplay was something I had to cut because of the limited time I had to work. Regarding it loading slow, were you using the web-version? What browser was that? How's your internet connection?

@BenPeterson Whoops! Thanks for reporting that. My laptop doesn't have a numpad and I forgot to block those keys.

@NinjaPenguinDan Yeah, the dictionary isn't the best, I have to do some research in that regard.

@Judy Kim Thank you! Yeah, I should improve the dictionary.

Wordelicious by ludipe 2018-04-24T23:21:56Z

@Angela He Thanks for your lovely comment! Yeah, I should have added "enter" as another way to send the word.

@gamepopper I didn't even think of multiple word solutions. Would be a little bit trickier to implement but it could add a lot. Thanks! :-)

@HiWarp Making the initial instructions available during the core loop was a planned feature that I ended cutting off because I run out of time. Will try your game soon ;-)

@ProdigalSon That's a really cool story. Also I just realized that I should have added an input delay to the score screen. Thanks!

@Nathalia Hohl That's a great comment, thanks! Yeah, I should have added "enter" as an alternative way to submit a word. Violet Evergarden wasn't a source of inspiration, at least I wasn't aware of it. I started watching the show a couple of weeks ago, so maybe it got stuck somewhere in my mind and came out during the jam. Funny how our brains work :-)

Wordelicious by ludipe 2018-04-26T15:38:59Z

@lonewookie Yeah, having themed words would be fantastic (that would also mean I'd need to work a lot on the dictionary hahaha).

@Miqui Gaud Ty! :-) I attend most events in Madrid, so it's easy to find me hahaha. (during this ludum dare I was around the venue ESNE prepared for the jam).

@p-r Awww, thanks a lot!

Xx_skateboarding_xX by MrChippy 2018-05-01T13:55:18Z

Loved this entry! It was suuuuper fun and I digged a lot the art style, it gives the game a charming personality. Well done!

Apocalypse Tycoon by javicepa 2018-04-26T16:28:05Z

Loved the visuals and the pikmin-like concept. I missed some more depth as you're mostly running away from zombies (and avoiding those damn dead-end alleys haha).

It's really polished and looks great. I enjoyed playing it.

Randy's Soccer Quest by nanolotl 2018-04-23T19:04:16Z

There are a couple of rough edges here and there but I loved this entry. It's really fun and has a massive amount of content. There were some challenges that got kinda frustrating but overall it was really fun. Reminded me of HackyZack, which has a similar mechanic.

One tiny change that I think would remove a lot of frustration is to respawn in the same room you die. Well done! Had a great time.

Harvest Hook by MaikelOrtega 2018-04-26T15:57:30Z

I really liked the concept and how you need to use the hook for pretty much every interaction. There aren't that many relaxing gardening games out there, having one where you're an astronaut that moves around planets while taking care of plants would be lovely.

I'd probably tweak controls and physics a little bit. Maybe get rid of the numbers, I'm not entirely sure they add anything if you're going for a relaxing/chill out experience.

Well done! I quite liked this one :-)

Dastard's Dungeon by MattDahEpic 2018-05-01T11:51:12Z

Liked a lot the concept of playing over email. Feel truly unique. Would love to see you taking this idea further (maybe introducing delays to the next emails based on your actions).

Roulette Knight by Finlal 2018-05-01T10:25:37Z

Loved the core concept, taking a pure luck-based system and adding ways to tweak chances in your favor created a very interesting experience. Played quite a few times. Feels good to try new strategies and you really nailed how to build up tension before every trigger.

Super well done, original and polished :-)

Dance Invader by Alcarendor 2018-04-26T17:22:54Z

Nice entry! Liked the concept and the visuals. It was a bit hard to understand the position of the alien and the other objects (humans/ space garbage), I think adding a small shadow below flying objects would make everything easier to follow. Anyway, congrats on managing to finish the game and polishing it. Keep up the good work! :-)

Check, Please! by swav_gav 2018-05-01T14:23:44Z

Lovely graphics and the core concept is great. Sometimes it was a bit too hard to grab the object I wanted, some visual feedback on when I can grab something might help. But overall it's a pretty polished game and really fun. Congrats! :-)

Honest Dan's Trout by Honest Dan 2018-05-01T11:46:30Z

Loved the concept, it's simple but it works really well. Plus it's super polished. This is one of those games that I kept playing for a while. Well done! :-)

BIRKANOID by MateCziner 2018-04-23T20:23:39Z

Super cool and polished (and I LOVED the color palette). I liked your take on the theme, though it took me a bit to figure out how everything works. Also I'm not sure if the game is pretty hard or I'm just terrible at it hahaha.

The Magic Shotgun Coloring Book by BenPeterson 2018-04-26T17:08:09Z

Really fun game! I loved both the concept and the visuals (the rolling animation feels so fluid!).

There's not much else I can say. It's innovative, fun and polished. Well done! :-)

Him & I by Aaronacus 2018-04-23T18:59:34Z

Hi there! Like everybody else already said, art is simply stunning. Music didn't really fit with the mood the rest of the game conveyed (that could just be my personal taste though).

I liked your take on the theme but you might have put too many tough decisions in just a couple of seconds. I feel that slower transitions (with something else to do/explore/say) could make your message more powerful.

Last note, some additional window/interface/background for the text would come in handy, it was a bit hard to read.

Congrats on choosing to do something different and finishing it! Glad to see stuff like this on a jam :-)

Of tennis and moustaches. by FranVadillo 2018-05-01T12:03:24Z

Lovely game! Really enjoyed it, the core concept was pretty funny and the flavour text was fantastic. Finished the match though I got the feeling I managed that not beacuse of my skill but because of the AI. Anyway, well done! This was pretty cool.

Shooting Mama by Dororo 2018-04-24T23:07:41Z

Hi there! This was a pretty fun game, liked the two genres you chose to put together.

The game is a little bit hard to understand at first. The pacing during the first day is quite rushed, slowing that one down would probably help players understand the core mechanics. I'd even suggest pausing everything until the player completes the first burguer, creating a safe space to experiment before unleashing the whole thing.

I enjoyed playing through the whole week, the only thing that kinda got in the way was how sometimes the character doesn't pick up the food. I'd try expanding the area of interaction with each ingredient and adding some more feedback when you pick up something.

But those are just some notes on polishing. It's cool, fun and you finished on time. Keep up the good work! :-)
