This is very innovative gameplay, I like it

Fun game ! The mecanic is original, it takes some skill to survive and the pression is intense ! One mistake and you're done for it ! Solid entry even if the sounds and graphics are a bit lower in quality i had great fun !

Very interesting idea. It took me a bit to understand the mechanics, but once you get the rid of it, its so fun. I think some polish could make it a better experience. Nice work!

polite-stories 2020-10-06 10:07

I love the aesthetic you went for but I think the game would benefit from being turn based since it'd allow for more time to think about your next move and wouldn't remove the heavy punishment for one tiny mistake aspect

somebodythepro 2020-10-06 10:12

Cool Game! a bit difficult, but game looks polished, graphics are real sweet, and the idea is gold!

malle 2020-10-06 10:20

Really good Idea. It takes some time to get used to the meachanics. You should mabey add a little tutorial, with not moveing Enemeys, just to get used to the meachanics

That is a really cool idea! Very old school arcade like. I suck at the game though. What would make it easier for me is to see more in advance where things appear.

noytroo 2020-10-06 12:06

Thanks all of you for the feedbacks ! We hesitate indeed to go for a turn based game, because as Polite Stories say, it would be allow us to have more time to think of what to do. But time was a real constraint, so for the jam, we opted for a semi-real time game

Nice idea for the tutorial & the way to see where things appear in advance !

Great idea! it took me a bit to understand how I was supposed to survive or what I was supposed to do, but it also gave me a lot of space to experiment with the game. Pretty interesting!

The mechanics are quite different and interesting. A complete game would be nice. Congratulations.

totally unique game play. that said, it got a little hard as it got going and it would have been nice to swap them out with something else at some point. great job.

Hi there! I really liked this game, very charming. Gave me some roguelike vibes (broughlike vikes actually). I loved the premise and the personality of the game. It'd be great to have the tutorial in-game but the only real issue that I had with it was having to keep looking at the bottom of the screen the whole time to remember the next action. It'd be great if the next action was hinted around the main character. I could see myself playing a more polished version of this where your actions change/evolve as you get more points. Good job!

peace-of-cake-games 2020-10-22 03:23

Well done! I wish it were turn-based with choosing the action's orders each round though, the game went a bit too fast for me to even hit 1000.

midorimelody 2020-10-22 17:48

This game is cool! I got 1020 points!!! Very unique

Interesting concept, and created some nice emergent gameplay with the enemies, like directing them into each other or in front of a rock. I also enjoyed tweaking the loop, although found that the best technique was to load up on move actions with a single attack and single shield, because this allowed flexibility. I also agree with the other commenters that it would be nice if this was turn based, as im sure it would allow for some nice tactical thinking rather than always trying to react quickly. Also some animation or similar to help you visually see which way things are moving would be nice. Nice entry!

Side note: If you didn't make the music during the Jam, I think you are supposed to remove the music rating option from the game.

The concept is very original and totally caught me. My team and I had a similar idea wile brainstorming, but we couldn't figure out how to do it properly... Although your take is really hard, and that the gameplay could use some polish, I think you nailed it ! Great take on the theme, really unique. Love it !

A unique take on the theme and I really liked it! Great job!
