LD23 — Tiny World

It's a tiny world by Endurion 2012-05-02T19:51:00

Thoroughly enjoyed that, from figuring out which enemies were safe to attack at each level to finding the safest path through the melee. Got a bit carried away and got up to level 30 before taking on the boss. Great job!

Bill in BSODia by vigrid 2012-04-30T18:43:00

A few more enemies wouldn't have gone amiss but liked the idea, and the intro was good fun.

Tiny World Destruction by Kyle Franz 2012-04-30T18:36:00

Giant robot! Laser eyes! What's not to like!

WTF World by Misfit 2012-04-25T17:18:00

Nice 8bit vibe - some interesting possibilities in the separate control of the screen

Teeming by DaveDobson 2012-04-30T22:11:00

Played this to completion, really enjoyed it!

I must admit, when I first saw the theme one of my earliest thoughts was "petri dish" but couldn't figure out a workable game mechanic, so I enjoyed seeing your take on it!

This would make a great touchscreen game for phones or tablets, I think. Great work.

In Delusion by crippledgames 2012-04-25T16:57:00

Wow, that was twisted... I liked it!

Loved the dark mood, but for some reason I laughed at the whole "anyway fetch me my hammer and nails so we can build this doghouse" business.

Really quite disturbing, in a good way.

Around the World in 80 Seconds (or less) by gormio 2012-05-02T19:17:00

Nicely made! Seems a good engine to build on, not too much in the way of gameplay as it stands - couldn't figure out what if anything to do to affect how quickly the car made it around the planet, but still smooth and fun (played on Windows 7 64bit). Would be good fun with a few stunts, jumps etc :)

Incredible Impact by dick_claus 2012-04-30T20:52:00

Heh, "very short" is right! Could be a fun game idea, but not sure that even qualifies as a prototype really... I laughed though so points for humour!

TINY COMPUTER PEOPLE by Tuba 2012-05-03T15:35:00

That was fun! Nice concept and some neat little touches for the nerds (the "pipeline" made me smile).

Was a bit confused by the red / green dots on buildings though, it seemed like you needed to turn things green to stop people working on them?

Lost Lapootah by orgarus 2012-04-23T18:22:00

Not sure where to start with this... why does a blob leave footprints? Where do those doors go?

Fun though, in a slightly odd way. Liked the story.

PS I also got the Chrome "appears malicious" message, just expand the menu and choose "keep" instead of "discard".

*awaits computer-crippling trojan infestation*

Little Sheep by Merkurius Team 2012-04-30T18:12:00

Nice atmosphere in this! As others have said, something very restful about it.

Defender by Ricardo 2012-05-07T17:23:00

Pretty basic but good fun and works well.

Arnold Bros (est. 1905) by fanatiko 2012-04-25T19:14:00

Wouldn't run for me, I launch it and get "Arnoldbros.exe has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to this problem" (Win7 64bit)

Shame, liked the look of this :(

Arnold Bros (est. 1905) by fanatiko 2012-05-03T11:02:00

Sorry for the doublepost but I need to clear unplayable games from my list.

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-24T18:05:00

@Naouak - That's annoying, I only went for an installer because I thought it included all the dependencies you need. And I know how much everyone loves installers :)

I'm looking into whether I can do a web port - not the easiest thing to do with XNA but might be possible in Silverlight.

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-25T16:20:00

Gah, sorry but that doesn't mean much to me.

Sorry to hear it crashed though :(

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-25T18:31:00

Honest answer? This is the first game I've published using XNA, I'd been working for 15 hours straight and only had about half an hour to upload it - went for the option that sounded most likely to work. But I hear what you're all saying and will put an installerless version up. Thanks for the feedback.

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-25T18:45:00

YOU ASKED, I LISTENED. There's a new installer-free version that you can just unzip and run (provided you have all the XNA/.NET dependencies).

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-30T09:07:00

Hence the phrase, "Windows only". Perils of XNA I'm afraid.

Disastronaut by Jeffalisk 2012-04-30T23:03:00

@vigrid \o/ Jetpac was a big influence! Glad you spotted it! I'm going to be developing the game a bit more post-contest, and the camera issue is one of the things I'll address.

A Drop of Water by canary40 2012-05-07T16:36:00

I laughed at the "ending" :D

Oh No, Tiny Rover! by decultured 2012-04-30T21:22:00

Yeah, the Windows archive only contains Mac files. Can't play it unless you reupload. :(

Oh No, Tiny Rover! by decultured 2012-04-30T21:45:00

Sorry for the double-comment, I just need to clear some unplayable games off my list.

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-05-03T13:22:00

Top marks across the board. Your game, sirs, is awesome. Want more!

Attention by Jail-By 2012-04-30T17:56:00

Um, what the hell's a ".love" file? Sorry, can't begin to figure out how to get that working.

Attention by Jail-By 2012-04-30T22:21:00

Followed cltatman's instructions and got it working, so have rated it now. Have to agree, it doesn't feel very finished and a restart option would be very useful, plus if you're going to use a relatively obscure framework like this some install instructions would be handy.

I never stayed alive long enough to get much of a feel for it I'm afraid, but you have a controllable character and a definite fail state, which is a start.

Invaders From Space by smvilar 2012-04-30T18:25:00

Superb look and feel, very addictive gameplay - top job!

My only complaint is it's a bit hard - haven't been able to beat it yet.

But even having rated it I will probably come back and have another go!

Away from Home by pirate-rob 2012-05-07T17:06:00

Some interesting stuff going on here and it was interesting to get the shrinker machine up and running. Personally I would have preferred the planet shrinker to be working from the start so you could shrink each planet after you beat its "normal" version, but still. Quite a lot of content here!

Nasty Bubbly - 72 Hour JAM Entry by ApiO 2012-05-03T12:33:00

Really good fun. I own fish so can relate to the food -> hyperactivity -> poo cycle :)

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-25T16:08:00

Really liked the music and the mood, and the robot's little comments: "Good thing I have plenty of spacebars", heh :)

Might have worked a bit better with keyboard controls for everything, especially walking. But that's only a minor thing. Enjoyed this.

Microscopia by azurenimbus 2012-05-03T11:41:00

What a great idea for a game mechanic. Really enjoyed this, and one of the most original takes on the theme I've seen so far. Good stuff!

Honey Heist by CappaGames 2012-05-07T17:13:00

This was a fun game, the time limits were a bit tight though. Not sure it really needed a time limit at all, might have been more fun without.

Before The Big Bang by ragnister 2012-04-30T18:31:00

This could really do with some instructions or a tutorial, I couldn't figure out how it worked or what I was meant to be doing...

Gale Axile by free_napalm 2012-04-30T21:43:00

Liked the ZX Spectrum look and feel to this! Also the fact that there was a tutorial, which was very handy for your unique game mechanic.

Jetpack Pixel by Dir3kt 2012-04-24T18:00:00

Slickly done. The lights gradually coming on at night is a great little touch. Super-annoying music though :)

Humphrey's Tiny Adventure by jacobalbano 2012-04-23T17:58:00

Great stuff, really enjoyed it! That poor penguin ;_;

Circus Flea by Ted Brown 2012-04-25T15:52:00

Loved it! Great graphics, great sound, great sense of humour... and like all flea circuses most of the detail takes place in the audience's mind! Great little game all round.

survive the world by smortanx 2012-04-23T17:51:00

Looks and sounds fantastic, but not much to the gameplay and it gets very hard very quickly!

Tiny World Adventure by PabloAM 2012-04-25T16:32:00

That was really fun, especially if it was your first project in a new language - it's one of the better platformers I've played in this compo! The graphics have a lot of character to them and the physics feel just right.

Intersection by cltatman 2012-04-30T21:26:00

Um... didn't really get what was going on. Could have done with clearer instructions, just kept moving things around until I got a "fail" message.

Certainly different though :)

Fooling Yourself in Moderation by ronsho 2012-04-30T22:38:00

Interesting idea and a nice atmosphere to it.

On Another Scale by Christian S. 2012-04-23T18:10:00

The music and the weird dreamy colours create a dream-like mood that I really enjoyed.

Not sure it was a great fit for the theme, though, and the growing/shrinking was perhaps a bit underplayed.

Aquarium Adventure by eli 2012-04-25T15:46:00

Nice idea. Was a bit hard to navigate with all the bubbles, but I completed the quest and liked the dialogue.

Seeds Of Destruction by MrPhil 2012-04-25T16:23:00

I'm not the biggest fan of this type of game TBH, but seems pretty well done and an interesting take on the genre.

Colours in the Void by Benn 2012-05-03T12:29:00

I'm a sucker for little abstract boxes, so I enjoyed this a lot even though I had to use a laptop trackpad to play it (which is never ideal!)

Alien Punch! by dcolgan 2012-05-02T19:01:00

Nice use of physics, and loved the whole tiny Solar System thing going on there. Fun game too, although there was a bit of a way to "cheat" it and once I found that I didn't really play it properly...

Pro Stew Chugger by Tourgen 2012-04-25T19:09:00

Seemed a bit buggy to me, my little guy was flickering about quite a bit - was playable though.

Good to see another LD game support the 360 pad. So much classier than keys :)

I Will Burn The Earth Down For You by EddieCameron 2012-04-25T18:55:00

That was fun! Gave up trying to catch the enemy in the end, but only after the whole world was ablaze. Good concept, pretty flippin' impressive for 4 hours' work.

Save Me by chinchang 2012-04-23T17:44:00

Good fun, I liked the central mechanic and found it quite addictive. Got a bit samey after a while but can see good potential for extra stages, etc.

Magniverse by Erifdex 2012-04-30T09:42:00

Love that graphics style, but not a fan of the control scheme - would have preferred to be able to move using the keyboard.

Also felt there wasn't much risk involved when returning to the home planet fully restores health as many times as you like.

Some good ideas here though, and very stylish to look at.

Mini-Worlds and Monocles by Zed 2012-05-03T11:27:00

I say old bean, frightful business with the Convenient Plot Device, what? Spiffing job though, old man. Capital.

So You Want to Create a Game by Zyll 2012-04-30T23:11:00

Heh, very meta! :)

Galactic Taxi by remeh 2012-04-30T17:57:00

Sorry, no Linux so couldn't rate.

Galactic Taxi by remeh 2012-04-30T21:46:00

Sorry for the double-comment, I just need to clear some unplayable games off my list.

Path O' Invasion by ratboy2713 2012-04-25T16:49:00

Wasn't entirely sure what was going on, TBH, but lol'd at the level win screen :)

Tiny Adventures In SPACE by Jacic 2012-04-30T22:30:00

I liked the ending!

I want to turn the heater on by Andrew 2012-04-24T19:48:00

Hands down the most abstract game I've seen yet this compo! I enjoyed it because it was so different, but got annoyed and quit before the end. I did feel like I was making progress more through luck than judgement.

Tiny Monk by Krisjet 2012-05-03T19:32:00

Interesting combination of game mechanics at work here!

Untitled, So Far by angrygeometry 2012-04-30T21:20:00

Oh great, I just played this before bed and now I'm going to have the most unsettling dreams of my life ;)

Fantastically creepy atmosphere, and I really liked the rough art style, particularly in the house with all the faces. I kind of feel like I've intruded into your subconscious... which I imagine is the effect you were going for. Nicely done.

Globe by gavin5564 2012-05-07T17:28:00

Argh, not another XNA game that won't run on my laptop because it's been compiled using the HiDef graphics profile :( Seriously, that's about 5 now this compo. XNA devs, please, PLEASE, use compatibility mode when compiling. There's like a 99% chance that LD games aren't using anything from the HiDef framework anyway, so it's just incompatibility for no gain.

Omni-Illusion by Wingy 2012-05-07T17:18:00

Gfx not really to my tastes, but the game seems quite fun.

Mayor vs Aliens by Sheepolution 2012-04-24T17:38:00

Really enjoyed this, great idea well executed.

Plus, any game where you wear a stovepipe hat gets extra votes from me... especially one that shoots rockets!

Science 101 - The Sewer Chronicles by mrainwater 2012-04-30T20:30:00

Can't run this, as my graphics card isn't compatible with the HiDef profile in XNA. Second game this compo that I've had that problem with. As an XNA user myself, I would strongly recommend setting your build to the more compatible graphics mode, as it will still do pretty much everything you need to do in a 2D game but will work with onboard gfx chips, which the HiDef profile doesn't.

Science 101 - The Sewer Chronicles by mrainwater 2012-04-30T21:45:00

Sorry for the double-comment, I just need to clear some unplayable games off my list.

Nom Nom Planet by Arkazon 2012-05-02T20:17:00

Pretty fun stuff. Damn those hungry aliens. Damn their eyes!

Cereal Killer by J0hnjwj 2012-04-23T18:32:00

Wow, this is pretty hardcore! Too hardcore for me, I fear - love the intro and the graphic style though, great fun but ferociously difficult.

caveman defending his cave from aliens while monoliths drop down from the sky by bms 2012-05-03T11:49:00

Quite fun, took me a while to figure out that aliens getting to the cave would kill me but nice idea.

Tiny Tim's Race World by pythong 2012-04-24T17:25:00

Simple but fun, seeing other players' data is a great motivator for one more go to try and get a bit further!

My Little Friends by yanmania 2012-04-24T20:02:00

I love the way the breakdown of your scores for the day reads like the robot's diary. I think this robot has some issues! Fun game.

The Cube Realms by Zoomyzoom 2012-04-30T23:01:00

Not bad! I made it to the end (well, onto map 3 which seems kind of empty!)

For those experiencing problems, it's definitely a Java version issue: I had the same error, then upgraded to Java 7 and it worked.

Wirepair by CaptainIcy 2012-04-30T22:45:00

Nice concept, enjoyed the music & could see it being fleshed out into something quite hypnotic with a bit more work.

Rush Hour by Cryptoporticus 2012-04-30T20:49:00

Very enjoyable, I liked the upgrade system (though speed didn't seem like much of an upgrade as it seemed to make it harder!) Can't see any connection to the theme so loses marks for that, but still a good fun game.

Tinius Worldifica by Cryptix 2012-04-24T19:06:00

Seriously impressive amount of content for a 48 hour game! Enjoyed getting all 75 coins, nice atmospheric music too.

There was a bug though - when I got to the end and pressed B for the bonus level, I couldn't progress through the bonus level because pressing space to interact with anything took me back to the end of game screen... other than that, good job!

My (Tiny) World by TiMMyyMMiT 2012-04-24T19:13:00

Couldn't run it because my graphics card doesn't support the XNA HiDef profile. You should set your build to the more compatible graphics mode unless it uses custom shaders etc.

Snowglobe by olav_st 2012-04-30T18:04:00

Once I got over the shock of a Christmas game in April (!) this was very enjoyable. Liked the concept of time running out when the last snowflake settles.

Tiny Apocalypse by CireNeikual 2012-04-24T19:23:00

Hmm, not sure it was working properly... when I got outside I was moving very slowly, and backwards? Is that meant to happen?

Then on restarting the background didn't display, it was all just black.

What I saw of it looked interesting though! Liked the idea :)

Tiny Artillery by blubberquark 2012-04-25T15:58:00

Good way to fit the theme but could have used a way to go back if you select the wrong weapon - I picked the bat when the opponent was on another planet so wasted a turn.

Planetship by s0ulcrusher 2012-05-02T20:08:00

Really interesting concept and impressive work for 48hrs! Very stylish, very atmospheric, didn't entirely fathom what I was doing (sending off the thorium probes and away teams didn't seem to really do anything?) but thoroughly enjoyed pootling about the universe. Hope you continue working on this post-contest, it's got real potential.

Of Mice And Giants by hyperturtle 2012-04-24T19:54:00

Stylish little game and quite moreish. Liked the music, great title too.

Affinity World by Jilius 2012-04-25T18:26:00

Really good concept, enjoyed the main game mechanic and the script - plus a lot of content for a 48hr game! Questing in the forest was funny :)

I for one would love to play a longer game based around this friendship mechanic, hope you develop it some more.

Tiny Archaeologist by toaster 2012-04-25T17:07:00

Argh, somebody kill that accordion player ;)

Music aside, reminds me a bit of the Platformance games, I like the concept of seeing the whole map at once.

The Lair by Lilleman 2012-05-07T16:31:00

Enjoyed the boss fight - wasn't expecting him to start talking to me!

Restless Island by Homletmoo 2012-04-27T15:43:00

Quite an interesting set-up for a platformer with the mechanic of falling down between islands. Also seeing the bullets' flight paths is an interesting touch. Got much easier when I figured out you can wall-jump!

Stupid Ants by rvmook 2012-05-03T12:24:00

Nice game, neat idea! But needed a MUCH longer time limit, or maybe an infinite mode. I would have liked to have spent more time with it.

Space Jumper by lucars83 2012-04-25T16:19:00

34MB?! Not sure how it ended up so big, but...

Not a bad little game. Some of the ideas, like the planet with the moon, were quite original.

Junior's Car by Khayet 2012-04-25T16:41:00

That's a fun art style right there. I managed to break out of the track and drive around on the desk at one point, but also managed to get a clean lap near the end.

Bonus points for the philosophy books on the desk :)

iblic - I've been looking for ice cream by Nehmulos 2012-04-27T15:31:00

I liked the odd sense of humour to this one, particularly the international cat. The solution to that last level took some figuring out as well, although maybe that was just me being slow...

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Finish Him! by dmcfarline 2014-04-29T11:51:00

Wow! This is more polished than some of the full 48-hour games, mine included. Seriously impressed.

Loved the ending and gratuitous swears, nice graphic style too.

Seamless by Jeffalisk 2014-04-28T06:01:00

Thanks for all the great positive comments!

As minor bug fixes are allowed in the rules, I'll try and do an update soon with some kind of temporary 'floor' object under the tunnel to stop the tiles falling away.

@Minism - For the graphics I used Unity's own 2D sprite and physics systems that were added in 4.3 - these seem a lot more straightforward and less of a hack than the third party 2D stuff, but it was my first time using them and that was one of the things that slowed me down. As you can see I haven't really got my head around the physics yet!

A Warm Summer's Eve by Mythalore 2014-04-30T11:44:00

Liked the idea, I think it being "a bit Minecraft" was a good thing as I found myself imagining what was going on through reading the descriptions.

I'd be interested to play an actual game presented that way, i.e. with some kind of controls, player choice and an underlying game loop but the action only being described in text instead of using graphics.

Come to think of it, that's probably an idea for a game jam in itself!

Fortune and Glory by cptalbertwesker 2014-04-30T15:41:00

YAY I got my archaeologist badge! Really liked the idea here, and it was so much fun trying to think how a child would describe what they imagined they'd found. This game really put a smile on my face.

WOOD BIRD EGG DIG by voxel 2014-04-30T11:53:00

Really enjoyed this, it's got potential.

I liked the main mechanic, it made for a nice challenge. Would make a great mobile puzzle with a bit more work.

DeepStep by AlbertoSM 2014-05-05T17:23:00

Liked the idea and the feel of syncing the gameplay to the music. Good stuff!

FedIt! by zedutchgandalf 2014-04-30T12:36:00

The graphics seemed tiny in the web player! But good work, nice and playable.

Project Brain Damage by Jay_Santos 2014-05-05T16:31:00

Good fun shooter, but would benefit from sounds!

Four Minute Miner by Bevilacqua 2014-05-05T16:45:00

That was a fun four minutes! Liked the idea, and the shovel was a fun character.

Deep Dark Dank Dusty Musty Dirty Decrepit Massive Moist Manholes by CharlieLove 2014-05-05T16:50:00

Could maybe have done with a "medium" difficulty between the easy and the hard, as hard was VERY hard!

Liked the idea though, an original game mechanic well implemented.

The Dwarves Beneath by Typedeaf 2014-05-05T17:06:00

Good potential, if a little confusing.

Dead men tell no tales by aaronjbaptiste 2014-04-29T19:39:00

Enjoyed this, I'm a fan of games with indirect controls so this was up my street. A more developed version of this would work really well on iPad, hope you stick with it!

Youdunnit by NightShadow0 2014-04-28T18:46:00

Good fun and an interesting twist on the usual whodunits. Love how everyone's names change between rounds so you have to start your detective work all over again!

Aeronautical by GarethIW 2014-04-29T19:50:00

Amazing graphics and a good take on the theme.

Thought it could have used more enemies though, and it would have really benefited from having some music. But overall, good job!

Bit of a shame about the 450MB framework I had to install to get it running that I'll probably never use again!

Life story by gmaker 2014-05-02T06:24:00

Liked the idea but for me it ran so jerkily that it was hard to play.

Doors & Secrets by Ludipe 2014-04-29T19:16:00

Had to play both players myself but did like the graphic style and concept. Word of warning though, I played the web player version and it crashed out on me before it got to the end of the level.

Pocket by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2014-05-02T06:06:00

Good graphics and I liked controlling the two characters simultaneously.

A couple of times Pocket got stuck in the scenery and unable to jump, though.

The Core Eaters by porglezomp 2014-04-28T19:11:00

For some reason I can't get the web version running - it keeps asking me to install Unity WebPlayer even though I already have the latest plugin.

Patty's Perilous Plunder 2: Patty's Revenge by uRLgR3y 2014-05-02T05:59:00

Quite fun once I figured out what was going on! Liked having to keep track of what was going on underground at the same time as playing above ground.

Pressure by Nezzhil 2014-05-02T06:21:00

Great job, very atmospheric - there was a real sense of panic and confusion building as the game went on. Managed to get to the bottom but only just!

Dark by harleylaurie 2014-05-02T06:29:00

Good fun game, creepy atmosphere and a few scares! Liked the
lo-fi intro and ending screens :D

A Day in the Life by iambored2006 2014-05-05T16:58:00

Interesting concept. I take it you can't have all 3 in the same lifetime, no matter how you fix it up?

Dog Hunt by tikilittle 2014-04-30T11:39:00

Liked this take on the old idea! Thought the ducks were a bit too quick and jerky to aim at very easily (mouse controls would have been nice!), but a good idea, nice art style and the music worked well.

Deep South Motel by iossif 2014-04-29T19:28:00

Good idea and a very striking graphic style. Liked it.

Inside Yourself by nerdybirdy346 2014-05-02T06:35:00

Creepy atmosphere and a nice sense of foreboding building throughout. Good work.

The Bored Room by evilDan 2014-04-28T02:31:00

Loved it! Helps that my surname is Jones too, that absolutely is me in meetings :D

Beneath The Memories by StuffBySpencer 2014-04-29T08:32:00

Great work, loved it! The ending was really well done, liked the glitching. And I liked the payoff when I pressed 'A'!

I will have to check out the tool you used for the narration, I can see it being really useful for my projects.

unnamed game with a mole by x1212 2014-04-30T09:00:00

Doesn't work on Mac so couldn't rate, sorry.

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-05-02T05:54:00

Quite nice, interesting mechanic.

Escape - Beneath the Surface by saulopz 2014-04-30T12:20:00

Couldn't get it to run for some reason - I'm on OSX.

The Ice Pond by Vytheros 2014-04-30T11:45:00

Look forward to hopefully playing the Mac port when it's done. Intrigued by the mention of Worksop on the screenshot, that's not far down the road from me!

Damn It, Rabbit ! by okkolobr 2014-04-29T19:54:00

Liked the idea. Great rabbit sprite too! I was slightly disappointed not to be able to play as the rabbit, but then I'm a rabbit person. Good fun.

neon subsurface by JALgames 2014-04-30T12:23:00

Sorry, I liked the look of the screenshot but afraid I can't play it without a Mac downloadable.

Beneath the 4th wall by eemmbbeerr 2014-05-05T16:38:00

Great graphics and sounds, and can't help wondering what would've happened if I said I liked cats!

But I have to admit I couldn't really figure out what I was meant to do in the "planning" stage, it could have been explained better I thought.

Troubles beneath the surface by archaeometrician 2014-04-28T19:25:00

Liked the art style, the 3D and 2D elements together made for a good effect. But fell into the trap of enjoying pootling around through the depths and took my eye off the oxygen levels. Gah!

Beings Of The Dark by Nnnnneeeedddd 2014-04-30T12:47:00

Very difficult! Got easier once I realised you don't need to kill all the reapers, but no way I'm ever finishing level 4!

Birdfish by GoudaGames 2014-04-30T12:51:00

For some reason the water didn't display for me (running the JAR on OSX) so I found it a bit confusing. Soon got the hang of it though. Cool idea, nice take on the theme.

Fish Photographer Simulator by Jacksendary 2014-04-29T19:24:00

Very much enjoyed this, it had a nice relaxing vibe. I like how the fish get scared away.

With some more devtime to develop more realistic fish animations I think this could turn into a game I'd buy :)

Water Temple by pLaw 2014-04-28T17:49:00

Interesting concept and great presentation. Like cageinabird I also misunderstood the strategy to start with, I thought the aim was to create totems and didn't realise you didn't get points for it! But once I got my head around that I had fun.

Under a bush of roses by AmmoreChicks 2014-04-29T12:15:00

Really enjoyed that! The writing was great, the message when you read Miley Cyrus book in particular. And I was shocked IRL the one time I saw a shadow through the telescope!

SneakyLink by thristhart 2014-04-28T09:18:00

Great idea for a game, I'd like to play a fuller version of it. Very immersive and I liked the writing, the different suspects all had their own believable style.

One tip on the UI - it took me a long time to figure out I had to click in the bottom left to change who I was chatting to.

Mole Position by Glint Games 2014-04-29T12:04:00

Nice idea, I like the mole sprite!

Quite liked the wall-climbing ability - maybe would have worked better if the up arrow did both climb and jump though? Also not sure if it was just me but I couldn't find a way to open the chests.

Small Town by louiscarl 2014-04-28T02:13:00

Enjoyed the art, and the radio joke on the way in was fun. Couldn't seem to get into the bedroom at the motel, so didn't get very far.

Love Letter Typer by seanographies 2014-04-30T09:16:00

Well, that was certainly different! Liked the weird, creepy atmosphere and the ambiguous story.

Beneath-Concious by igwb 2014-04-28T18:57:00

An atmospheric ride, nice to see something a bit different.

Descent by camlang 2014-04-30T19:00:00

Amazing graphics and sound, really liked the mood of this. Great work!

No Eyes Willy by blockbot 2014-05-05T17:12:00

Really enjoyed the mechanic here, great potential in this game!

Maniac PengMaku!! by spotco 2014-04-30T09:40:00

Man that second level was tough, but helping the penguin to build his family was the perfect incentive to keep going right to the end. There was no way I was going to let the baby penguin down!

Really enjoyed that. Great job. If you could port this to the Vita and add twin stick controls, I would 100% buy it. :)

Mobius by Zeta 2014-04-29T19:08:00

Certainly an original and intriguing idea but did seem quite buggy (I played on Mac). Shame you didn't have time to get it a bit more stable.

The Westport Independent by Double Zero One Zero 2014-04-30T15:31:00

Very well done. As a newspaper journalist when I'm not making games, this really struck a chord with me.

My tendency, having run a newsdesk IRL, was to publish and be damned - except for the obvious government propaganda pieces, which went on the spike! So I ended up getting shut down but also sparking a popular uprising, which I thought was a fairly upbeat ending in the circumstances. I take it there were other endings if I'd chosen differently?

Amazing! Beneath The Surface by nonetheless 2014-04-30T12:01:00

Really like the idea and there's great potential in this. But for the love of all that's holy you need to swap those alarm noises out for something more ambient! Good work, hope you keep at it.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-04-28T02:27:00

Interesting take on the theme and liked the transition between 'normal' and 'beneath the surface' states.

De Profundis by nicolashognon 2014-05-02T06:09:00

Really nice graphics. Took a while to figure out I was meant to be collecting the yellow dots, though - mechanics weren't as clear as they could have been.

Very impressive entry overall.

Hell Manager by ATTA Games 2014-04-30T12:16:00

Not exactly subtle, but nice graphics.

PlanetoLution by stigmawall 2014-04-28T17:53:00

Yeah, not really very playable with a mouse! But the idea seems like it would be fun on a phone or tablet.

How deep can you dive? by bebopbraunbaer 2014-04-29T19:42:00

Well, that certainly did what it said in the title! And the answer would seem to be, not as deep as I thought I could :)

The Crusade! by jamesy012 2014-04-30T12:06:00

Could have done with some balancing - that wall is a tough mistress :(

Fun game otherwise though.

FishCopter by minism 2014-04-28T19:06:00

Really proper enjoyed that, reminds me of the sort of game I used to try making on the Amiga only better done. A good old-fashioned arcade game, plays really well. Loads of fun, really put a smile on my face. Good work!

Arctic Antics by Miltage 2014-04-28T17:38:00

Love how polished you've managed to get this in 48 hours! Great graphics, great controls, very moreish... really good work.

Let's Get Digging by rogberth 2014-04-28T10:41:00

Love this graphic style, took me back to the glory days of the ZX Spectrum which I assume was the look you were going for!
The wizard's walk animation was great. Overall a fun game though you're right, it is very hard.

Beneath the Trolls by Dreauw 2014-04-28T02:09:00

Amazed by the graphics, music and number of levels you've managed to squeeze out of the 48 hours. Really impressive stuff!
