.love file??
this is awesome
guys the jumping just makes the y position go up then
down how could it be better or worse. He doesn't jump
very high because otherwise it would be two easy.
you only have one life because the theme is "you only get one"
Thanks for the feedback
ill keep that in mind for my next game thanks :)
sorry guys there are quite a few collision bugs :/
@Binary Gambit I know i noticed that, but couldn't work out why it didn't work on ubuntu :( sorry.
The download was simply a link to google
This is really difficult but good fun
Amazing
Really fun game
very simple fairly fun
I couldn't move ;(
Couldn't really rate this. Because i dont have a nes ;(
This game kinda broke half way through
i think its supposed to be a computer game =D.
Funny
I didn't really understand what to do
Really good
I enjoyed this game however those gas creatures seemed to
damage me when i was close enough to hit them. But all in all
Really good game =D
This game looks really cool but MEGA just gave me an error ;(
Really fun game
This game was fun however for some reason i fell through the floor a couple of times and i do use chrome
Really fun strategy game. Not entirely sure how it fits with the theme. Good Job :)
Really fun game
Slow finicky jump
Best game yet :D
Sorry i couldn't run this entry when i clicked on the exe
nothing happened ;(
wan't sure what to do but obviously fitted with the theme and
i liked the graphics
wasn't really sure what to do
not really sure how this fitted with the theme??
This was terrifying. Really good game
Not really a game
This was really addictive. Good job
good
Lol, Yea i made the thruster sound with my mouth! But i changed the rate and hoped it would sound less mouthy!!
@perfectclivee My highscore is 15. :) But there is no end it is infinite......
the yellow wire just ran into a wall.. What am i supposed to do??
chrome says this file is malicious :/
unintuitive no signleplayer
I spent ten minutes trying to do something of any significance, you need to give us some idea of what to do.. All i worked out how to do is steal money and pour grape juice in the toilet.....
@Absor I don't think you read the instructions. Please get back to me as to why you couldn't complete the first area!! I have checked the uploaded .jar and it seems fine to me?
BtheDestroyer Yea! That was the original idea but i didn't have time :(
@monkeedude1212 The mouse thing was kindof the idea of the game i was trying to be indie :/... Everything else you said was true and thankyou for your feedback :D:D
@harley77 A few people have said that... If you could tell me why you couldn't get out of the first area that would be great!!
dropbox said there was an error ??
I love this game. The graphics were great, and the blandness of the game was mainly just limitation of the theme. But i love the simplicity, and the music makes me happy :D. I might keep this :D
Funny.. But a bit silly and not much of a game
Thanks, this was great fun!!!!
This game was so cool
Hm, I couldn't run this. It just showed your first screenshot and didn't do anything :/
This game was so awesome, I loved the fake voice, and I got so sucked into the story. I am actually gonna keep this game, and play it for fun. Thank you for this :D
I really liked the idea of the scroll wheel. The game was altogether very fun to play. My only problem with it, was near the end, I had loads of little guys standing around, and it got really laggy.
Good game. I liked the idea of accusing the monster (of being the monster) good game :D. Also I disagree with MechanicMoon with the clues. Games should not hold people's hands, great game!
Runtime error, you need to edit your entry with a fixed version, Ludum Dare allow you to fix your game after the deadline if it is completely broken.
This game is awesome, I love the puzzleness. Fantastic entry (one of the best I have seen so far)
Quite liked this game. The music was a bit scratchy and repetitive. Also I felt this was not great use of the theme. However this is a nice entry, good work.
This game was pretty awesome! I felt like the art for the monster was a bit lacking though. Also as lowercaserho said, being able to shoot in non-cardinal directions would be really helpful :D Overall, great entry!
This game was actually like fun. Really fun.
oh, and also, thanks for telling me about the crash in my game :D
Not really sure what this is. The shader is awesome though. You should make a game with this! :D
Overall great game. However if you are going to use pixel art, don't use a bilinear filter. The blurry pixels ruined the graphics. I really liked the 2d.. 3d thing. Great Entry
I didn't really understand this game. When I moved the monster, it didn't move with the mouse or anything. This should not be done with the mouse. Also, the human just stabbed me even if I was in the bush or whatever. I don't understand this game, I am sorry.
5 stars for graphics, this is an awesome art style!! The audio killed my ears though, I am deaf now!! :D
Thanks for making this game!!
great innovation, good idea. Some of the levels were quite challenging, I think you should be able to grow plants off of other plants, so you can make a tower, I think that would be fun!!
Thanks for making this game!!
Very nice entry!!
As a lot of people have said, it would be better if there was more variation.
Thank you for making this game!!
@OrangeeZ Exactly, the two button controls made it unplayable, which is why if I want to continue with the project (as ninos said) I would kinda have to reprogram it!
@Pikkufighter: that is interesting, I would love to know why that was. It has only been tested on windows so you might have been using a different operating system.
Very addictive! It would have been better if there was a clearer rule of what happens when you die. I think you go back to the nearest point where there is grass??
Anyway, the game itself was really good, however could really have done with some audio.
Thanks for making this!!
I wish I had though of a simple mechanic like this!!
Really good game, I love the subtle bits, such as the square rotating in the direction that you move, and the stars moving in the background, it makes a really nice feel.
Thank you for making this game!!
Yes, I really wanted to make something similar. That is why :D
Quique were you using a weapon?? You can't attack them with nothing.
@Sheepulution Well that wouldn't be in the correct style of old-fashioned dungeon crawlers, it would also defeat the point of the fact that this game is centred around mazes :P
Gord10, Yea, I totally agree. The only reason I made it mazy, is because I didn't really have time to add enough mechanics to add a sufficient amount of gameplay :/
This game is amazing! These graphics are amazing, just amazing. Not sure about the gameplay, I couldn't do it, so I am just gonna assume the rest was good. Great game!
Great game!!
I don't really understand what I am supposed to do :/.
This game is amazing. Thankyou so much for this.
Great game! You should maybe work on the difficulty curve a little bit. It is quite difficult at the beginning.
Very nice game. Graphics were great, the game play felt mostly good. However, when you jump, you spend a little too much time in the air.
Not really sure what this entry is. Maybe compile your project next time?!?!
When I did compile it, it still didn't work, something about opengl pipeline. Not really sure?
Why didn't you package it??
Very nice game. Audio was absolutely excellent. Graphics also. One thing, some of the first levels were a bit long, without much change in difficulty. Overall, brilliant though :D
Really liked the sound effects. The gameplay was fun!! Additional sound effects, for stuff like, the bow being fired, would have been good :)
Edit: Ok, ignore the bow thing, because there is :/. Great game!! :P
@AWOL yes, It's made purely with Java, LWJGL, I had no base code. Also, I didn't use a Maths library :). Thanks!
This is soo coool!!! I love the graphics, I love the scoreboard. It is the perfect difficulty for this kind of game, the level design is strategic and clever (although I didn't actually complete it :/).
This is the kind of Ludum Dare game that I will play twice. Thanks :D
The day-night cycle is great, I like the way the shadow's change. I am a fan of isometric games, so I liked that too :). I found it quite challenging, but started to improve :). Great Entry, Thanks!
Good:
I liked the music. I also liked the spider art (or photo?) they are nice and creepy.
Bad:
I move diagonally up and to the left when I am not pressing any controls, I am not sure why this happens.
Also, 'S' is not very intuitive.
Anyway, thanks for making the game! I had a lot of fun with it :)
I love the gameboy art style. The mechanics were interesting, I wouldn't mind trying something like this out myself. Good job :)
This is the best game I've played so far c:
Thanks!!
This game is quite good. It needs an overall polish, and better controls though.
Anyway, thanks for making this game
This game is genius! First of all I love the isometrics graphics. I also really like this style game. I gave high humor, innovation and fun. Nice Job :).
Also, with my game, you definitely extracted the folder from the zip? Otherwise it won't run. If you did, it's probably an OpenGL Version problem
Anyway, Your game is brilliant, I had a lot of fun with it ;)
I liked the graphics and mood. You need to add mouse grab for the online version though (not sure if this is possible)
I moved my mouse to the bottom of the screen, a little circle comes up, but I can't click it. Also, the sound stopped working the third time I tried running it. The aesthetics look brilliant though
victorcrafty - No I made it in c++ from scratch with OpenGL, and OpenAL Soft
They do fall back down? When you put an elf on a machine, it can be taken off. Otherwise, it would not be possible.
Couldn't get past the menu, sorry. The Start button doesn't work, and I don't have a control. I also tried pressing enter and space. The menu shouldn't be too important, so either don't have one, or make it intuitive. I did not rate the game, as I could not get into it.
Sorry,
Ned
With the toonshading and dithering the screenshots looks AWESOME. However, I am sorry, I downloaded the latest version of love, and dragged your file into it. Nothing happened. I also opened the file with love, and it gave me the error:
Error: main.lua:51: assets/shader.json: No such file or directory
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'assert'
main.lua:51: in function 'load'
[string "boot.lua"]:440: in function <[string "boot.lua"]:436>

Because of this I was not able to rate, but it looks really great :D
Link is broken, but I found it on game jolt. I really liked the graphics!! However, there is not too much gameplay here, I would focus more on gameplay in future. Nice mood though, and quite deep, so you get innovation and mood stars for that. Overall.. I liked it :). Also, I have to give you 5 stars for theme, because it is in.. One room, and there is literally nothing else to this theme :(
This game gives a great atmosphere, with the particles, and the screenshake. The music is really nice.
Thanks,
Ned
Nice game ;). Hoped you enjoyed your first Ludum Dare :D
I think you have a great base there Mike. Great style, features are mostly functional. You should carry on with this game :)
Nice, I really like devil daggers, and I really like this, rated very high. It looks very nice, good fast gameplay, the leaderboard made me want to keep playing, although I only got up to 34th (i think).
Thanks,
Ned
Sounds on linux is a known issue everyone, Sorry...
Overall, I really liked the game, my time was 1273 seconds (slow I know) it took me the longest to find the blue orb. I liked the way the blocks related to the actual path you took, and each block represented a different style room. That was so cool!
Graphics were awesome, the walking animation with the cape was cool. The intro was really well drawn. For Compo this is really impressive ;)
Thanks,
Ned
Interesting RTS, As people have mentioned, no money system kinda stops this from being difficult. Also, whenever I placed a dead zone the game sorta died.
Nice job for 7 hours though, it is a 72 hour jam though, so I rated it as though it **was** a 72 hour jam.
Still, really impressive for 7 hours.
Thanks,
Ned
Nice little game, I spent a while playing this one. The art style was really awesome, the audio was very immersive. Overall, very nice experience.
The last level was pretty hard :). This game is really nice, very interesting art style, but it kinda works. There was an interesting combination of game mechanics, I liked the riddles (they were quite easy though). On the last level I got tripped up a few times, like the pencil that comes "just" out of the top of the ruler.
Anyway, really nice entry.
Thanks,
Ned
Hey, I didn't beat your score, I only got to 40. Really neat game though, I really like the hand drawn art style, that's something you rarely see.
The music was cool, it was high tempo, and fit well with the fast (hectic) gameplay.
The collisions felt a bit odd, because i think people generally expect more 'give' behind the houses, because they are drawn as though they are upright, so people expect to be able to go 'behind' them, although you quickly get the hang of it ;).
Overall really nice game.
Ned
This is aweeesooommeee. I love the art, and the attacking. It just looks so good, and retro awesomeness.
This is my favorite game so far, thanks :)
YAYYY, I got into a stable orbit. This game felt super awesome, really nice mood, really nice art style, good audio. This game is awesome, really enjoyed playing it, I wish there were more levels now.
I love that it is made in HTML5 as well, it's so accessible, I want to make my next game a web game.
Thanks for this game, it was awesome!
Ned
This game is nice. The tutorial was good, the climbing corridor was tricky, the game was fun though, and I thought without the corridor, the game probably would have been too easy. Anyway, nice particle effects the graphics were great, I really liked the style, it all felt very professional.
Really smooth, awesome looking game. I haven't completed it yet, but I will... Eventually :)
@mathijs Yea, so, this game was made without an engine, if you look at the code you will see what I mean ;). So I didn't really have time to make small tweaks with the camera, text, gravity etc... Valid points though, next Ludum Dare, I will write some base code or something. Also, the gravity is still way lower than it is in the real world, I feel like some of you are just comparing it to other platformers, and you shouldn't just complain when stuff is different to other games. It's just *different* it's not *wrong*.
@icyLava thanks for the in depth comment, I will check out that video. In terms of accelerating acceleration, that's not actually what is happening here, although it looks like it, this code isn't written particularly well (not very readable as demonstrated), but.... It's a Ludum Dare. Anyway, the acceleration variable, is actually acting as the velocity variable here, that is why there is confusion, the reason for that is it's set up so the 'velocity' variable is zeroed every tick(), this is for collision reasons, and the terminology is fucked because of later changes in design (but rushed). Anyway, you are completely right that the code is technically wrong, but because it doesn't read right, not because it doesn't work... I loved your comment :) :)
Ned
This game is very smooth :). The graphics are really nice. You manage to very effectively use simple shapes, couldn't get past the point two comment's above this one though, sorry!
It's really nice to see someone else that made their game from scratch in C++ :). Anyway, it was a pretty good idea, I liked the pseudo 3D. We do kinda need a power bar though, also I was spamming z and \ very fast, but my flashlight still turned off, so some indication of the progress that the key pressing is doing would be helpful. Anyway, happy programming :)
Ok, so... This game freezes on Windows, you need to take a look at the windows port. But leaving that aside here is my review: This game is AWESOME, I love strafe jumping, it's like my favorite mechanic ever, I've played a lot of quake live, so, I am pretty good at it. I have tried to implement strafe jumping before (see previous Ludum Dare games) but it was very rudimentary, and not nearly as good as yours, the movement is awesome. I love the way you can rocket jump as well. Will rate high, please fix windows version :D :D
The Runner part of the game was very slow, I liked the idea behind the minigames. The minigames however were also quite slow, as quite often the bats are bunched together, and you just have to wait while the ball bounces back to the bats. When it came back to the bats, they were hard to control, and quite often the ball just went through them.
Yay, I got the city power. It's pretty hard to tell were you are shooting. When I completed it, I only actually zapped one camera. It had very good audio :). Anyway, quite a cool game. Also, you are allowed to port games after LD, so I would recommend making a 32 bit build :)
SO DID SHE COME BACK FOR ME?!?!?!?! I loved this game, it was awesome! The machine thing was very well done, just simple things like adding the jolting movement, inline with the sound effect, and making it so you could only move forward. All the computery stuff was awesome, I loved the line1="Click To Interact" thing, I really felt LIKE the robot. If you extended this I would pay for it no doubt. I'm kinda speechless as to how you did this in 48 hours. Thanks :D :D
Nice entry, I liked the style, the music was really great! I know the art style was minimalist, but you should add some sort of texture on the walls as a reference point, as there is such a low field of view. That didn't matter too much though, I enjoyed playing this game :)
@dark1knight yea, the aiming system was kind of an experiment. Normally aim lines up with the mouse in some way, I wanted to see what would happen if I had top-down shooter style aim in a third person game.
I do agree with you fully though, I didn't particularly like the result either, it's very annoying when enemies are too close. Glad you had fun :D
Found it odd that the camera translation moved with the mouse. Usually camera translation moves with player movement, and only player rotation is adjusted with the mouse. It might just be something I have to get used to though. The gameplay is fun. However, the idea based around the theme is the obvious one to go for. One of the first ideas that pops into everyones head when they see "your life is currency" is buy items with health, but this is just frustrating. Goal 1 in every game should be to save life. Anyway, thanks for making this, it was still quite fun to play :D. Hope to see you next Ludum Dare!
@freso I gave the game two more stars for the cheat code ;)
Nice game! Similar to comments i've on other games: buying stuff with health is not particularly fun, it's just frustrating. (I understand why you did it though, the theme was....).
Anyway, other than that it was cool. I recommend adding sound, using Bfxr you can do this in about 10 minutes, and it adds so much to the game (it gives the user more feedback as to what is happening).
The enemy count builds up super quickly, although they weren't to hard to kill, so maybe this was on purpose.
Overall, I would say it's a fun game, it made 10 minutes of my life better.
Lastly, well done for getting something submitted, I highly recommend leaving some ratings on other games, so that your game gets more feedback!!
This is such a cool game, at the beginning I had some trouble deciphering some of the pictures, especially with the fish thing, but I worked it out fairly easily.
@marleeeeeey @jeremy-ryan really honoured you guys played this. Didn't rate this time around, because have only really had access to my work laptop (can't download stuff, could've just rated web I suppose, but that seems a bit hypocritical). @jeremy-ryan I totally agree I termed the troops 'meat shields' for this reason. (EDIT: also I looove that doodle :D )
Pretty cool, points for compo, arm rotation animation is mega smooth, and fun :D
@taximan981 I was worried people wouldn't get far enough to see the bombs! Thanks so much for playing! Seems like it's actually running for people!
@varenka runs on linux?!!! That's awesome!! I guess proton has less to do with Vulkan than dx  Thanks for playing!
@brendan-aeria haha, cheers  'scratch'-ish, I wrote some vulkan wrappers beforehand (+ some audio stuff)
@Gat Thanks for playing!
@juanrod707 there was not a huge amount of sleep involved
@acartlidge Tysm! I resonate with that a lot, I think people used to use game engines a lot less when I started, but now seems to be de-facto  I'm not sure why the enemies were invisible, I know there's z-fighting if you fly under the map, but the floor is only 1 plane, sounds like you had some whacky glitches going on  (it is a vulkan game, so updating drivers could make a genuine difference)
@eloc Thanks! That means a lot!! :)
@patatje @budaniel @skale @youpz @eugenik @ilqim Thanks guys!!
@blazerker Yeah, I actually expected more reports like this, I suspect it's some unsupported Vulkan features or some such. Thanks for trying! (using very modern tech, for an extremely retro game haha)
@re-markable ah, yeah, if an enemy dies really close to a wall, it kinda clips into it, and can be hard to find, you can normally just about get it (but you have to know where it is  ). Thanks for playing!
@ericns haha, tysm!
@kapricorn-media tbf the tips turn off after the first level
Unless you mean the notes? Anyway yh,was quite hard to trigger info in a nice way within the time frame. Ideally should've had a button press to trigger/escape the scrolls
@zowell It's worth noting. After you get to the minions it's not mandatory to collect the gold. I just wanted to make sure people got the mechanic before moving on in the early levels.
The bombs and the bosses are the part I'm most happy with :)
@someone tysm for playing!! If you die each chest adds to the "total possible" gold on restart. So you can only 100% if you don't die. It's a bug, I suspect you did indeed find all the chests.
I would say all your points are spot on! Thanks for the thorough playthrough 😂😂
Woooooooooooooooooo I got all the pieces, took me ages to find the one behind the block.
VERY cool to see another person not using an engine (I have no problem with ppl using engines, but it's cool to see <3)
Nice bloom / normal maps etc.
Very nice audio / athmosphere.
Take all the stars!
Oh also, should probably be resizable, it's very dark, so you don't wanna have the contrast of your desktop brightness. Lucky for me, Alt-Enter worked for fullscreen!
Awesome game, you're getting so much more life out of flat 3D planes than I thought possible.
Audio is very nice, very relaxing
My favourite part was just being on the top of a mountain, looking out over the world
they're CALLING ME, and I'm RETIRED....
This is my favourite game so far. This is absolutely incredible work
Insanely innovative, doing this in 5 hours is so impressive :O
Love the style so much, I found all 5 pieces.
I do think you need a 'put down gently' feature, very hard to prep things, I couldn't get all the pieces on the plate without dying
Like a 'You only have one' entry from Ludum Dare 28 (that was my first ever!).
Thanks for some nostalgia
So fun. I love 3D platformers (was thinking of doing one next actually), iconic game haha
"Money!" "Life!" "Ha. Ha!"
Yh, grapple is well done. There is a 'floatyness' to the movement, that I dont love. Audio could be improved, no real indication of impact when you hit stuff / get hurt.
Took me a while to realise I was shooting the sheep (that was my smolbrain tho), nice mechanic ;) works well with collector.
Sheepus had me laughing, my god that's a big sheep lol.
The TV was kinda great, surprised there's no drink animation, outstanding work
Interesting, I'm intrigued by the tech, especially since there's a .wad involved, what happens if I switch it out for the DOOM wad I wonder
Anyway, gameplay is a tad lacking, and I don't think LD game should require a controller really.
Level design was surprisingly good, spikes were a bit odd (sometimes hit me, sometimes didn't, not really sure how they 'work', I couldn't always just sprint over them).
This is phenominal!
So, I really liked the graveyard, kinda whacky you can half hit the grave next to the one you're descecrating.
I did find the gravekeeper guys a bit forgiving, they never really notice you. Nice job adding all the items you can take.
Not sure if this is just a Godot thing, but my windows toolbar was visible even though it was 'fullscreen', and I couldn't alt-tab, or window it or anything. I was worried some of the game could be hidden at the bottom for a while.
Anyway, very nice work :)
Ah, also, side-note: I didn't know which one was the windows download on ldjam.com. I think your linux one is x86_64, which I think of as a windows thing (ik it isn't  ) Anyway, just put 'Windows' maybe
HAH this is amazing, died on number 7. "Now reverse it" is brutalllll. Awesome game, congrats!
Very cool came, I keep getting 'respectfully rejected' aha, I can't multitask  thanks for making it!
This was super awesome!! Had me genuinely terrified lol, i've been up all night, and it fit the delirium very well 10/10
I thought the click once to fire, click again to retract thing was very interesting, went very against my instinct to spam click on things :D Awesome game, thanks for making it!
Ctrl didn't work for crouch, all other controls worked, anyone else get this issue?
Having trouble using the collection arms (Q/E doesn't do anything, I can only drive, and run people over), I'll come back to this one before rating.
I must say I love the 2D aesthetic, with the harsh rising 3D buildings, I might steal that art style one day
Very nice graphics. Music is an absolute banger I must say. Very glitchy tho, if you press medium difficulty you win immediately. Bounding boxes were huuuuge.
So unlocking notes / mechanics is very nice in terms of 'collecting'
Graphics were excellent, love the parallax effect.
Some glitchy transitions between levels, the bit where you fall down to the bit with the moving platforms, I kept accidentally falling down there (it would switch level in an area where I would normally be able to jump out). Then I have to go all the way around to get back.
Nice game, thanks for making it!
I'm a big fan of movement games, and the style. However, I have two massive gripes, firstly for a movement game, you don't keep nearly enough momentum. Secondly, I would've played a lot longer if that demon that 'Has a choice for me' whenever I die didn't exist.
You should really just let the player restart as fast as possible in this style of game!!
@korzhik so, rope was very cool, but I think just too much air-control (too much drag/air-resistance potentially?), wall running is very well done
(Sidenote: I think I'm judging this harsher than I normally would, just because it's such an awesome game otherwise  )
10/10 for mouth sound effects
I'm a MASSIVE fan of how it looks, want to make a game that looks like this someday  jump-scares were good, spider was awesome, but was disappointed it didn't do anything.
Was a tad underwhelmed when the first thing to interact with 'press E' just ended the game.
Also, the janky google drive download definitely added to the suspense, I think itch is the place to upload these these days really.
never really played a text adventure, was a pretty interesting experience :)
I feel suddenly enlightened  Thanks for making this, very nice art :)
Pretty scary, my gf is here, so was trying to be cool
Is there an endgame? I didn't know what to do after the baby was on the wall.
Awesome jam game, thanks for making!
Nice voxel graphics!
I like how there's so much lore to this. Although the intro was cut off screen, and I couldn't seem to fix that (do you have a 4k monitor perchance?).
I like rendering glitches, so, intro section was very vibey, gameplay was maybe lacking a bit.
Thanks for making it! Good luck in future games
Quite a solid platformer mechanic! Although I don't expect to stop instantly when I'm in the air if I let go of A/D (I used to do that in all my games too tho  ). You've clearly put some effort into refining it tho blocks all seem solid etc.
The mechanics feel pretty good :). Hope you have better luck next time!!
