LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Delay the Flood by Rialgar 2022-04-09T12:24:38Z

Simple game with a nice twist, I like it. Maybe it could be a bit nicer to have bigger "stack" of sand, but it should pick up a little bit slower. Now its a bit too much of a race game. Though I played for solid 15 minutes;)

Long Live the King by Pennycook 2022-04-09T11:17:52Z

Props for the linux version, a rare sight:P It works, and as simple as this game is there shouldn't be a problem to run this on Steam Deck. You can just boot SteamOS and see for Yourself. Its free to download for anyone, and can boot on any x86/x64 PC. Anyway, linux, Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 (SNB GT2), 60fps. But You really shouldn't expect less even on weaker hardware;)

One More Song! by hadesfury 2022-04-10T07:48:35Z

Great graphics, and awesome idea:P The only thing that I would've add is like jumping or whatever to interact with music:P But its probably hard if You don't work on music in-game... anyway, really good adventure game, and the only one I know right now with a proper ending;)

Where do you go after you win by ded 2022-04-09T11:58:05Z

Pretty fun concept, animations really break the routine, especially on chair was not expecting this:P The only thing that's not so bad considering this game, but maybe should be rised - You changed the artstyle a bit after the ending. At first its from side, later its top down. Usually it would be pretty bad, but here it works I think because of this "easter egg". Nice work.

UPDOG: The Ascension of 180 Sadie by Alchemic 2022-04-05T09:16:55Z

Very nice, though game could keep highest score in session. Maybe its not to late make add this small feature?

Baking Simulator 2022 by Sarah 2022-04-10T07:05:08Z

In a game like this with many combinations its easy to have many bugs, but I don't really see any so good job:P But it would be nice to have more at the end than just "thanks for playing" In case of failure You could for example break the wall, add a shotgun sound, fade out to black screen and even close the game. Right now its all sweet and nice, and I am not sure if that was the goal;P

Mia's Bear Service by Lumous 2022-04-10T08:13:59Z

Would be very cool to see this game with multiplayer mode. The other thing I can say is that the main character shouldn't be that pixelated if everything else is so smooth, but I know how it is in such short time. You probably put a lot of work in implementing all assets, so good job. Oh and one of the mechanics that allow You to go faster is dashing - how about going further with this and allowing player to just leave the screen on the right side and show on left side and vice versa? That would make moving even more interesting.

I have to say I like this spot, too bad You can't go forward;) Cleverly done dragon!

The End Of Days by Anson Rutherford 2022-04-09T09:02:51Z

Nah the pop was nice;) There just could be more sounds overall. The music is pure satan, nice. And the boxes for characters man... nice xD Overall You could make some enhancements, but when I think about it it doesn't really hurt experience. I didn't find the immediate restart button and that castle level about climbing up was a bit annoying without it - maybe thats the biggest thing lacking. A good idea would be to show all locations of bombs before level start (or some radar), but like i said it was okay without it. And maybe in a fuller game it would be better to be able to go boom multiple times. The strategy element is kinda missed when You just collect all bombs and whole level blows up anyway. Big plus for satan! Ah and another plus that the game was running fine in HTML on my potato PC (i5-2520M) - though not on full screen obviously.

Eye Fly by Koolruz 2022-04-09T19:37:01Z

Finally a platformer! Great concept, excelent job. I don't even know what feedback I could give. Maybe these spiked pistons could have a better telegraphed retreat? You can see that they will close, but You can't really see when they will open, You have guess.

Camelot's Defense by Dante2001 2022-04-09T11:25:18Z

On very dated PC linux version doesn't work (HD Graphics 3000) - no idea why. Windows version starts and works, but I don't see fonts. Sorry have to skip, unless maybe You could make an HTML version?

Definitely not Titanic by Charles Viau 2022-04-08T18:39:36Z

Pretty fun, I have to point out that graphics are nice and despite my potato PC I managed to play quite nicely - though it was probably due to a fact that the game is just walking around. I'd like to point out that in a game like this a leaderboard would be nice - just to see how well we did in comparison to others. Also you don't have to say constantly "deny the inevitable":P And probably last, but it was already said: its hard to spot that You have to collect barrels to fix holes. Some more indication like sound would be nice. Cutscenes **smack** perfect

Choboro by DaivyIsHere 2022-04-08T18:59:44Z

Yeah it was also not clear to me that I was shooting backwards -.- I think this is first time I see pinball with a simple twist to just manipulate the pinball. I have to say - presentation top notch, despite disgusting theme looks and sounds lovely;)

A Nerd's Delay by hatmajaster 2022-04-10T16:04:54Z

@daniel-username thanks! Actually I introduced a small scaling bug that around 1700 points the wave has too few good items to get more spins and its ALMOST impossible to get through. After submission I spent 2h trying to get more points and yes... it is possible xd Later its much easier again. So yeah, sorry about that and thanks for playing

Outrun the Darkness by FlyingKaida 2022-04-10T08:45:31Z

Nice effects and procedural generation! Managed to do 245. Don't know if its a bug, but I managed to jump in the air after dashing.

Hamstronaughts by Bix 2022-04-09T11:41:59Z

Like lisyarus said, You can make the game play itself in that one spot;) Fewer or slower enemies and buttons positioned somewhere in the center of the level would make it better tuned I think. Anyway, nice cutscene, graphics, audio, and wow, even tutorial;) Good job

Siphon by Kulu 2022-04-09T14:18:33Z

Devil daggers heavily inspired I see;) Technically all was fine on HTML despite very old hardware (Intel HD 3000). The only issue with game I had was already mentioned - slippery controls. Total mayhem like this should be as tight as possible imo, no low friction necessary - if I release a button I should stop. Other than that everything was very good, with wide variety of enemies. Really nice.

Not Enough Time: The Game by Marianoa213 2022-04-09T11:33:56Z

I don't see if it was mentioned, but spawning enemies literally next to the player is not good. You should spawn them in some vicinity of player but no closer than X. Very nice that enemies follow the player, nice touch. You could also fit the controls on the main screen, at first I didn't noticed the "how to play" button, and had no idea You can reload;) Overall nice, gratz for completing the game;)

@majomirez all true, especially about the range, thanks! @rusya-ink

1) yeah, I think the building should show how it will look at place, when I think about it now. I especially understand that someone might want to build a mine on top of the gold piles.

2) yeah it should be much faster, no excuse

3) on the other hand you would've blocked the place anyway the first try - it would've been much more frustrating that you can't go back because the game tricked you. It's a bait for the player to quickly realize that you can't go back by destroying buildings - everyone always focuses on that sweet shiny gold.

Thanks for feedback! Our crazy colleague speed ran the game for a half a day to get the 195 xD

@funemaker hard to say what's going on, its the most popular browser and it was working in our tests. What OS, browser version do you use? Can You try again? It get stuck on the loading bar (how far), some blank screen?

LD55 — Summoning

Arcane Anagrams by edj99 2024-04-25T08:44:08Z

For such a simple idea its very very cool:P Though I am terrible at such games I got 2526. I guess the letters come at random, maybe its a good idea to have them a bit better hmm "statistically organized"? Though this probably would've made the game go endlessly... So I guess maybe its perfectly balanced. The only issue i have is with the clicking:/ I miss-click often when a new letter is spawning. Also I think the game really needs a "revert" button - for example right mouse click. Often you just want to remove the last letter, not all of them.

Arcane Anagrams by edj99 2024-04-25T10:17:03Z

Wow, so its me that's stupid xD Maybe you write it on the "How to play" :) I thought that something was strange because I almost did not see the letter "Y". Well good job then, and explains why its very good to play

Arcane Outlaw by jordantanner 2024-04-19T06:38:10Z

Very very good. I don't have much too say, you obviously know how to expand on it (moving enemies, better enemies, bosses, explosives, some upgrades etc).

The only thing that maybe i would fix is use AI for the summons. AFAIU if you have multiple summons they all shoot at the target you shoot if they're charged. I think they should shoot at will. Now having 10 summons is kinda useless because they fire at one enemy and just destroy it.

Got to 5th round. Great job

Summon' Right Up by Chauwizaud 2024-04-25T16:02:58Z

Something happened and one circle did not show. I guess its a bug. Oh well. Maybe because i decided to be as bad as possible ;)

It looks and works really nice overall. But the dialogues although nice are a bit lengthy. And the game keeps on going with the same premise I think for a bit too long, and even the challenge I think is quite random instead of progressing. I think I drew over 10-15 circles.

I believe there is a nice ending to everything, but the game in its current state could use some chapters. Which there are - the small demon is chatty from time to time. But at least something like a filling progress bar that we are getting there would sell it a bit better i think.

nice job!

EDIT: Okay it was twice in the same place. So I guess its just the end of game, unless something is broken.

Celestial Panda by LucaVazz 2024-04-25T16:47:49Z

The game feels a bit unnecessarily hard, but this amazing music puts you in the correct vibe to do it;) Seriously

The most wacky part for me were the icons on the map: you pick up the 3d models of something, in inventory there are some icons, but on map they are scaled down and I confused them a lot. I think items should just be 2d, like in minecraft, or - all have distinct colors.

Went through portal, nice game and the prize was learing about magicavoxel. Moving on... ;p

Summon The Waiter by PromZona 2024-04-16T07:19:37Z

I really thought that the cat you spin faster and faster and then shoot in same way and destroy everything in its path;)

That Time I Reincarnated Into /.../Trials By Summoning Demons With Unique Powers by Filip Vannfält 2024-04-19T07:02:03Z

Its very good, fun concept, but the game is critically lacking something like an "R" button to restart the level. You can get stuck in a wall, and then the only thing you can do is restart the game -.-

From what i saw: the summoning menu (left/right/jump circle) should appear on the top of the instructions.

And probably there should be a "destroy demon" button. Overall I really like it, looks and sounds great, but after few tries i just lost patience. This omission makes it really tedious to experiment right now. Maybe you can update?

Summoner's Tower by NikaZ 2024-04-16T12:12:51Z

@zoranac same issue here? nothing happens when i click

Shrine garden: saved by the bell by hatmajaster 2024-04-26T17:44:09Z

For those mentioning bad dashing... Yeah it sucks a bit too much. Honestly I really hoped for much better wolf controls, but oh well, better luck next time.

Thx for playing to all!

Thundersnow by Bluepir 2024-04-25T15:25:14Z

I mean... The worst part is probably that its so short;) really nice cinematics. As for the game itself... Well it plays nice, but you can just spam the hammer endlessly and with the game pausing its an easy win. I think it would be much better if you would need to grab the laying hammer again to use it immediately but it will get back to you after some cooldown of 5-10 seconds.

Hat vs Evil by minjutin 2024-04-16T08:05:23Z

Got to level 10. I like it, and the idea to sign contract about reading the rules;) Though personally I would just put the rules in the summon screen.

HELLSPAWNER by Thomas Gelman 2024-04-24T17:58:47Z

Cool music, and overall very well put together. Besides other mentions: jump should be as high as long you press a button ;) Currently the jumping is very rigid without this

Cat Wizard by Lily Hubbard 2024-04-18T06:55:11Z

The source code link doesn't work.

I like the animations (is this 3d? I think it is), though in scope of controls it would probably be better to have a separate button for "summon". It gets weird especially when you jump and suddenly a box shows in front of you, also it seems that you can only summon flamethrower and baloon to your right. I got outside of map, was pushed behind the wall when i summoned a baloon and a box in front of me.

I can't summon the candle after boss defeat:/ I know that you can, because I managed to do it once, but cannot repeat. I think its adass, but doesn't seem to work, and i cannot check in the code too. Overall nice game, I would like to see the ending, but now i can't get past the dark area. Maybe some help?

Luminth by crushedsummers 2024-04-16T07:44:10Z

Quite clever idea, it would be cool to see more levels with some twists as there's clearly room for more. Right now it feels the game is game feels very generous, because you can just spam big lights, lose most lives and then go around - maybe light should degrade over time or after losing a life? I appreciate that the exit is in different place each time, also the hero could spawn in different place each time, and the player would probably not notice. Despite a lot of text i did not get what is going on, but it's probably me and in the end i did figure out what is going on. And erm, where is the goldfish? :P I fought that guy is an eel xd

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Critters, Conjure, Cannonade! by PureGarlic 2024-10-09T18:40:24Z

Hey, its a very nicely executed idea. Music, sound cute graphics - that's what its all about. The only issue i had is that i have a bit difficult time in figuring out which critters actually do what - perhaps turning obstacles in the exact same color would help?

LD57 — Depths

GOLDLOVING STONEHATING IDOL by SurWeaver 2025-04-09T19:39:47Z

It's a quite easy puzzler, but a nice take on the theme i have to say. On the other hand I only managed to get 103 gold hmmm. I wonder if it should be a puzzler or an arcade game, where you have a combo systems, etc

When you hit something, I feel like the bouncing should happen earlier, not go to the middle of the wall and only then bounce.

Good job!

Obsidian Deep by Joseph Tan 2025-04-19T07:37:25Z

Hello fellow exatly the same game maker! Well almost

Looks sounds and plays nice. I like the idea for more of a puzzler approach where you can only dig down and can' t jump. And I especially liked that you can dig 3 blocks in a sequence - combines to a surprising strategic planning.

There is one issue with the game - its far too long for a jam game :/ I think i played for 40 minutes to reach level 1000, and then realized that it probably never ends at which point I stopped. One of the upgrade should probably be to start at a certain level - 200, 500, 1000 for example - though not sure if this is what you were going for. If there's an end it probably doesn't make sense.

Really polished, fleshed out concept. The only issue i had is that when you spam space to dig down you can reach a shop, and then cancel it without buying anything:/ Or perhaps there should a button to simply restart? Though it was mild annoyence

Obsidian Deep by Joseph Tan 2025-04-19T11:38:18Z

@joseph-tan by restarting i mean just restarting the run/session, go back to the surface - I press the button, my stamina goes to 0 and i go back to the begging, buy upgrade and dig again. But the only true issue was that you can easily skip the shop - the digging and skipping shouldn't be the same button (or maybe it should pause for a second, or just have nothing selected). Restarting would be just a way to ditch the broken run without going to the end which later in game can take a lot of time.

Yeah, I am well aware that I am pointing out the obvious lack of time ;) I have left few ideas myself for my game too as everyone ;) But when i provide the feedback i have to be honest;)

Into The Deep by clymm 2025-04-16T21:04:17Z

Hello fellow almost the same digger game maker! I understand that the game loops after leaving the planet (considering that you loose all the upgrades) Its pretty packed, and looks cool. In my game i made sure to go for pixel perfect, but i also wanted to do something present here - some modern effects, nice glow, lights, rotations. Makes the game look not as retro end empty. The only thing that kinda didn't feel right was buying and spending - you can buy upgrades by clicking mouse on buttons, but to use the you press a button and it goes all away immediately. I think I should be able to use one tank at a time. Also the balance seems a bit off - you loose energy and oxygen quite fast, but after reaching 500% health it runs away so slow, you can pretty much ignore that you don't have oxygen ;) VN entry, like i said in the beginning i like the most that it does not feel as retro as pixel art often feels. And the plane really flies! :D

Asteroid Miner by hatmajaster 2025-04-09T18:44:56Z

@scriveneroflight yeah its a tiny bug ;) you have to COMPLETE 6 planets, and on 7th you win ;) Thx for play

Asteroid Miner by hatmajaster 2025-04-09T19:50:08Z

@monogatari yeah its not easy, but its not so hard, you just have to move fast to outrun the mobs ;) thx for playing

Asteroid Miner by hatmajaster 2025-04-12T05:55:43Z

@surweaver now that you said it it's obvious that, the character should have a box on the bottom, and a circle on top. And I was wondering whether to use box or capsule. And yes, its procedural;) Thanks for feedback

Asteroid Miner by hatmajaster 2025-04-18T19:02:44Z

@kujoen its not really sensitivity thing, its just a bit too broken to be honest. I was seeing the issue since day one, but haven't had time nor really idea to properly address this :/ I guess it should just not bonk from the ceiling and stop for a while to allow you to dig up. Something like that, sadly not sure Thanks for feedback and playing!

Asteroid Miner by hatmajaster 2025-04-19T13:27:34Z

@oadt yup, its probably a bit too extreme but there is precise number of fuel in each planet and you kinda have to get all you can. Its probably too much i guess, because many players get stuck without more. It should be done better

Thx for playing!

Belials Bellybutton by Kujoen 2025-04-18T19:27:21Z

I won! This is really nice, i really appreciate the amount of work that went into this. The pixelart effects like shadows/etc is something i really look forward to finally do, as it does not look as plain as normal pixelart. Great entry. The only feedback I can give is that level is either too huge, too open, or there should probably be one more thing in the game to justify going so far. But its so atmospheric that you really want to get to the end.

Glimmer in the Deep by ScrivenerOfLight 2025-04-09T19:06:25Z

Nice atmospheric game, I went back to the surface despite "there's no way back" ;). I really think that you should screw the rules and just add some music, as it hurts the possible experience a significant bit. If you don't want to disobey the rules, just add a link to some dropbox/youtube to play in the background and just give this to the player as an option.

Can I ask what did you use for the map? Those are blocks or tiles? I feel like you had to draw a lot!

Towards the Light by MikeMikeMakes 2025-04-16T18:30:29Z

vn for custom engine (and in c wow), works beautifully works "blazingly fast" :D. But you really should add a mouse ;)
