Got to level 10. I like it, and the idea to sign contract about reading the rules;) Though personally I would just put the rules in the summon screen.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD55 → Hat vs Evil

I liked the pixel art. Pretty well made:)
Quite fun game, all though I would have liked to see the rules while playing
Could be worse 3/10.
This is a fun idea! Great job :)
Its a bit chaotic when all bad guys come at once but overall, pretty 2D style with good idea. Well done :smirk:
Great. What kind of creatures look like 2 matches?
@semenov That would be a meatball enemy. Our graphics guy had very open hands as to what he wanted to draw (and this was his first jam + art role)
Very creative and a fun twist on the tower defence genre! I enjoyed the sounds and visuals, the controls took some getting used to, but after a few levels I had it down.
Seems like the sounds gets messed up a lot, an I would have loved to hear the shooting sounds etc more consistently.
We also made a type of tower defence for this jam!
Really interesting concept that has a ton of potential.
I think it'd be kinda nice if spawning in items was bound to a different key and having a little x on the top right of the buy menu to be able to leave.
Otherwise really solid and I enjoyed my time with it.
A fun addicting tower defence. I don't know if I missed it or not but I can't pause the game, but aside from that I like it. I really like how chaotic it becomes
Nice game. Even though i read the rules and confirmed, lol, it took a couplle of tries to understand. I think when the bottom bar reset to next level timer but you stay at the same level that means you lost but are retrying it. I was on level 3 for a while, i thought it was stuck in some weird loop. Nice audio, cool graphics.
This is game is interesting, I like it! It become too fast later but still fun. Nice work!
I really enjoy Tower Defense games. Good job!
It's a good tower defence.
Interesting visual style. Great job!
Super enjoyable game, it took me way too long to realize the resources were not created by me (by pressing E in the right places?) or random chance, but were actually loot drops. The motion of the hat is nice and fluid. Some extra suggestions: give the player the ability to create a preset-combination of resources to summon in one click, and the ability to destroy existing towers (perhaps I missed how this is possible?). I accidentally placed a few towers in nice locations with only a few resources, and no way to improve this later.

I think it's an interesting take on tower defenses, considering in this one you get different materials to build your towers rather than just using the same currency. However I do think it's a bit too overwhelming at the beginning, since even after reading the contract, the player can still get lost as they haven't adjusted to the mechanics in practice. Cool idea though, it has potential!
Cool game, I liked it!
This was a pretty good game. The spawn rate of the monsters was a bit quick for me
Thanks for the fun play
Neat idea you have here! I think it needs a couple of adjustments in the spawn rate and dps departments. It was hard to catch up to their spawn rates even after playing for a while. I think this would also work better as a point and click game. Flying around can be tedious and slow down gameplay, which is hard when you feel limited on time at the beginning. You definitely have potential here, I hope you continue to work on this or other products!
Good idea, music didn't get boring but the sfx did, also found it hard to see the pickups late game. Still relatively fun!
We also did a spin of a tower defense game, and I actually really like the uniqueness of this! The building each tower manually is fun and chaotic.
I'm actually surprised I haven't seen this kind of towerdefense game before, where you essentially define how good your own towers are. Even after reading the rules and signing the rule-reading contract, it took me a little while to understand how important the meat parts are lol. I also like that failing a level doesn't reset anything, but rather just gives you another try immediately. Nice submission :)
Cool idea with lots of good potential! Bit confusing at the start despite the wall of instructions but easy to learn in the game itself!
Fun game) I rlly like the idea of the game)
Nice one. Always get sucked in with tower defence!
I am Hat, prepare to be summoned! Nice little defence game! I really liked the ability to combine resources in any way I want for my towers.
Extentiong for simple TD game with resources) I had no time to prepare, enemies decided to attack me without warning) This game needs balancing and delay between waves. Awesome concept
This was a game that felt a bit bipolar to me.
One the one hand, the swarms of enemies felt overwhelming, and I eventually reached a point where I stopped caring about whether I stopped them from reaching me and just focused on placing towers. On the other hand, the consequence for this was only resetting my current progression, so that afforded me the time to get away with this.
On the one hand, it was impossible to read the tower stats, and the placement interface didn't let me cancel out of unintended decisions; if I triggered a tower summon, I had to summon something, and if I placed the wrong resources, I couldn't take them back. On the other hand, once I got to a point where I lucked into enough towers to stop enemies consistently, I was able to just spam more towers and build on top of that.
In summary, I think you had a really cool concept. The resource collection influencing what kind of towers to create was awesome. For me, I think I would've preferred a slower-pace beginning, to give me time to strategize, instead of placing things ad-hoc and hoping for the best.
Overall, I enjoyed playing!
I like the boost towers being little cherrleaders, that was cute. The movement of the hat felt good and the speed didn't make it uncontrolable. The graphics were adequte whilst not impressing. I also felt it was difficult to read the stats of the towers and it wasn't 100% clear where the best locations were for towers. I ended up spamming towers and certainly had some placements that were less than ideal.
I want to thank everyone who has played our game, your feedback has been greatly appreciated among the developers! I'll check out everyone's games during this weekend ~
The art is quite rough, but that insane title screen actually made me laugh lol
Anyway, I LOVE this!! This is like, a much more chill approach to a tower defense game. Since you can't lose, it becomes more like an incremental game: you just keep creating new defenses and collecting drops to see how far you can make the numbers go up. I actually got to the ending without even realizing there *was* an ending, just because I was so hooked on the gameplay loop! x) I imagine creating this must have been a lot of fun.
If anything, I just think maybe this would have been better as a mouse-only game. Moving the hat around and selecting stuff felt a bit awkward, and I always mis-selected stuff while I was moving. Also it would be nice to be able to close the summoning popup without actually having to summon something.
I think this could actually be killer as an idle game, very satisfying, I almost didn't want it to end. Very good job!

Nice! We also did a tower defense game, really like the way you managed to keep it such that the player is kept on edge until the end! The upgradeable defenses and the way how the drops ARE the upgrades is a very cool concept!
That was fun! I thought I've read the guide thoroughly... It turned out I didn't realize for some time that I don't have to defend the circle frantically from every enemy. It felt really difficult until that moment, and then came the chill part :D I would love to know from the beginning how many levels there'll be. I guessed it, but I would want to be able to estimate when it'll end a bit more confidently. I love the end screen! And the title screen! And the guide ^^ Chuckled on every one of them. The unhinged humour really got me. Fun little entry! Btw somehow the green tower person doesn't show up very much :p
