LD52 — Harvest

Fairy Feeder by recursiveanomaly 2023-01-11T00:45:38Z

Loved it! The art style was amazing, had a very relaxing soundtrack, and a pretty shocking but funny twist.

I do like how you have to always keep an eye out so you don't lose your fairies, rather than just sitting there waiting for them to grow.

Aorta by Cloughd 2023-01-13T22:44:27Z

Very nice entry! I'm a big fan of the horror ones, and this one was pretty fun to play. The atmosphere was what mostly made me tense up, alongside the fear of being caught by the unknown shadow-y figure.

Wurmi by joewan 2023-01-11T20:20:49Z

Very cute game! I loved the little simple sound effects, like the "Yipee!", since it added so much to the character and experience overall. The gameplay was also very fun, it was a very nice little puzzle game, and I enjoyed it a lot! Keep up the amazing work.

Harvest Puzzle Box by boldbigflank 2023-01-10T21:38:19Z

I had a lot of fun solving each puzzle, specially the musical one since it hit very close to home. SPOILERS: I thought it was really smart how you had to find out the order through the lowest pitched notes to the higher ones.

The other puzzles were also nice. I think the only thing that could make the experience better would be for the game to not be as silent? Maybe a little theme playing in the background, even if it's like a simple melody. Even so, when I finished the game I got kind of jumpscared because I was concentrating a lot and didn't expect to beat it haha.

Overall fun game, it's a nice little exercise for the brain!

Wheat World by Belonzik 2023-01-13T19:58:21Z

Was very happy I got to play this one, the mechanics made the gameplay very unique and I had a lot of fun trying to figure out the quickest way to beat each stage! I unfortunately couldn't find out how to reach the secret levels though.

Also if you don't mind me asking, could you elaborate a bit more on the "but it wasn’t made during the jam, judge as you will"? Would it mean that the game was made before it? Sorry if it seems like a silly question. Great game regardless!

Wheat World by Belonzik 2023-01-13T22:21:42Z

@belonzik Ah okay, thank you for the clarification! I played the original version with the first control scheme and I honestly didn't have any issues with it really. I was using the right CTRL key to slash and that mixed with WASD felt good to play.

And one final note because I completely forgot to mention this in the first comment, but I also wanted to appreciate the visuals and sound of the game! The music made the experience a lot more pleasant and I loved the art style you went for. The character that you play as looks adorable, and it even reminds me of the Google cat "Momo".

Chop Crop & Drop by Simon Rahnasto 2023-01-16T03:01:32Z

Big fan of this one! The idea is really well crafted into this game, and I enjoy the grind aspect to have to build up until the final boss. Unfortunately even then I couldn't beat it, and decided to call it off since I didn't wanna have to go through all the tiers again. Boss felt slightly infuriating to fight, but asides that, the visuals are fantastic, the sound design and the songs are amazing. Awesome game!

HER-V by Kilirane 2023-01-11T22:21:25Z

This was a wonderful game! As a huge fan of the QTEs mechanic (and I guess rhythm games would contribute to my likeness of this jam entry too), I loved every aspect of it. I enjoyed learning how to get a better score with combos.

The visuals were fantastic, and the sound was very good. Great job to the team!

Here's my high score high score.png

Brains by Jiri Hysek 2023-01-15T22:20:53Z

Very nice puzzle game, and I'm a big fan of how the movement of your zombie is timed with the BPM of the song. The visuals were well made and pretty cute. I find the levels where other zombies appear to be the hardest ones, since you need to find the quickest path to reach the other humans first.

Chicken Story by Andreadbx 2023-01-10T21:47:18Z

I was really looking forward to playing this one, it looked pretty promising. It's not terrible but it's definitely not the type of game for me. Sure, it's silly but I feel like the game could've had a different approach in certain aspects.

I also think that having a button for people to skip the puzzle completely defeats the purpose of even trying it. At the same time I do appreciate it though, since those 3x3 grid puzzles are a nightmare for me haha.

I respect the effort, and I'm hoping to be able to play the next jam entry.

Corny Heist by MightyBanana 2023-01-10T21:52:46Z

Definitely one of my favorite entries yet! The gameplay was addicting and I had a whole lot of fun playing it. Soundtrack makes you feel very much into it, and having the scoring system open for the player to leave after a certain point is very clever. Made me want to get the max score and I was enjoying doing it!

Veggies slayer by ukirain 2023-01-16T03:19:52Z

The idea is so different from all the other games I've tried from this jam. There is so much potential to this one, and I'm hoping to see more of it in the future! I think sound would add a lot to the experience for sure, and the game could use some polishing. Like in the reward screen. When I pressed the button without selecting anything it looked like my game just stopped working. I only clicked it because I didn't realize that was the button to proceed with the choice of reward, since it was just labeled "Button" Nicely done!

Fields of Fury by wheelsx 2023-01-11T22:38:34Z

Was a pretty decent one. I enjoyed the music the most, and I do like the DOOM inspiration this game has. However I do believe that after a bit the game can get a bit repetitive, and at some point I did just stop killing the enemies to go straight for the key to escape. Maybe making a mechanic where you have to kill all the enemies to make the key spawn would've been a bigger motive in my opinion? Nice work though!

Bloodsoil by AploveStudio 2023-01-11T20:10:57Z

This game was awesome to play! The mechanics felt really nice to play and even opens up strategies for the player to use. The combination of the visuals with the audio made it a very pleasant experience, and the story was a very nice touch to the game too!

My mother told me... by leggy 2023-01-13T23:16:48Z

I was a fan of the idea and gameplay of the game. Took me a bit to get used to the dash/dodge mechanic, but not a huge issue really. The only thing I'd like to point out is the sound effect for when you go to the next stage. In my opinion it's a bit too intense and loud, and even managed to scare me twice haha!

I also ran into a bug that unfortunately made me restart the game. On the second stage, when I respawned and the camera zoomed in, my character went flying through the trees in the left and was off bounds.

They Hide in the Fields by Hawkin 2023-01-10T19:39:08Z

Was very much into the whole idea of the game! I think it was executed very well, and it managed to not only make me tense up, but also scare me. I think the only downside is that once the creature gets you for the first time, it becomes a bit less tense to actually go find Tommy when replaying, but other than that the game was wonderful!

Harvest by Oiluuuj 2023-01-16T02:19:34Z

Feels a bit too short and empty at it's current state, but has a very promising start! The visuals are okay, and the mechanic is not bad. Maybe some sound would've added a bit more to the experience as well. Looking forward to seeing what else you can make!

Breaking Catnip by PlovGuru 2023-01-15T22:33:36Z

I'm a fan of the idea the game brings, but it kinda felt really repetitive, especially because I found a bug where the text was stuck on what my last customer said. I just kept spamming "E" and "Space" to eventually reach 1000, but it didn't even feel that rewarding for the amount of time it would've taken me.

Harvest kingdoms by ApolloWales 2023-01-16T02:12:18Z

Took me quite a bit to understand how the game plays out, but after I did I decided to keep going until I was satisfied with what I had. zombie.png It's a very interesting idea! I like the game, but after a while the night cycles becoming shorter doesn't really make it that hard. I was still harvesting even during the night. If there was a more straight-forward goal, rather than just collecting more resources for just that, I think it would engage the gameplay more! Having some sounds and a little theme playing would've been nice too. Good game though!

Life is Fleeting: New Harvest by Sarah Alexa 2023-01-16T02:34:32Z

At first I was stuck because I couldn't switch the items in my inventory, but I managed to find out how to do it. I like how your days are timed, because it kept making me try to always rush and get everything I needed done on each day. It's a very interesting game, and I think there's still a lot you could do with it!

Somebody Will Die by Coderah 2023-01-16T04:04:03Z

I'm shocked that this game is still in the danger zone! It's such an innovative concept to me, I loved it! The sound could do some work, and the art although simple, has it's little charm to it. The fact that you have to pay attention to stuff like the organ size, expiration and even the blood compatibility is fascinating to me! It brings me back to my recent biology classes and I'm really happy how they went for accuracy. It made me stick around to play more. There were some small moments where I got slightly frustrated with the RNG aspect, especially when I was going down back home and 5 wolves started chasing in total haha, but hey RNG can raise the steaks in a game, I get it, so it didn't ruin the experience for me. I'm really excited to see where the game will go from here. I wish you the best of luck with it!

CRAWLER CRAWL by Sean Carrick 2023-01-14T02:49:58Z

Wow, this entry really triggered my arachnophobia! (In a good way, haha) I was astonished by the horror aspect of the game. Making me have to go upfront and face my fears to clear the objective was super trilling, so I was a big fan! The controls felt super smooth to manage, and in a way they felt a bit similar to how you control a character in "Apex Legends". Not sure if there was inspiration from it, but credit to you for managing to make it feel nice to play! I made it until level 3. score1.png

I do wish there was some audio to support this game, because I can imagine how much it could impact on the gameplay. Like making so that the music adapts to how much your danger bar has filled up, stuff like that. It would make players be even more on their toes! Great stuff though, and I'm looking forward for the next entries from you.

Oh and final note, when I was cornered by 2 bugs in a small area where you had to crouch, I managed to quickly go out of bounds in a jump, but then my character quickly jumped back to the map. My guess would be that I had a lot of momentum going.

Beat the Harvester by Cloverfall 2023-01-11T19:52:55Z

I can definitely see the potential to this game, but at the moment it feels a bit too short and easy. Some simple sound would've also been nice to add to the experience.

Crop Rush by Multipixels 2023-01-14T10:17:04Z

This was a very fun entry to play! I love having to put thought onto the moves, and the difficulty kept getting harder on a very balanced manner. Maybe just the last level is a bit too much for me personally though haha. Great stuff!

Midnight Harvest by SirMcsquizy 2023-01-10T20:00:37Z

Very interesting concept for a game, and I'm amazed that something like this came out in 3 days! The highlights for me was definitely the art style, animation and the gameplay. For me I think the sensitivity to control the character with the mouse was a little awkward, and the music sounded a bit empty to me. Great game!

Sleeping Potion by LaGerbe 2023-01-16T01:44:40Z

The visuals were fantastic! Not too much of a challenge, but still fun regardless. Great job!

Backyard Fruitball by twchapman 2023-01-13T19:11:13Z

I think this is a very solid idea for a game! I had fun getting used to the controls and trying to get better and faster at collecting the apples. It does make me wonder how this would play out if you got a second person to control the other character too, despite that not being the point of the game. I do wish that the game had some sort of little theme to add to the experience though, but other than that, great job!

LD55 — Summoning

Summon-a-Spot by kuggenhoffen 2024-04-16T20:14:22Z

It's an interesting game. I personally think the driving gets too slippery when you go too fast, and having a song playing, even if it was something very simple, could've been a nice touch. Nice job!

Neon Citadel: Guardians of the Stars by Snowdrama 2024-04-24T17:09:53Z

At first I was a bit overwhelmed by the summoning mechanics, but later on I thought they were really cool and innovative! When I figured out I could pull out the summoning wheel, then after open up the spell book, it made it a lot easier to summon units too, rather than just memorizing it (although I'm not 100% sure if that was intentional or not, but regardless, I'd say it's a plus for the game). It's an interesting way to play a tower defense game! The graphics and audio were really appealing too. Good stuff!

Doppel Effect by Wendel Scardua 2024-04-26T23:07:52Z

Really interesting entry! I really like how it can also be played in a NES/Famicom. Nice stuff!

Spirit, are you there? by namnam 2024-04-30T22:06:59Z

Interesting entry! It has a lot of replay-ability, since you can always go back and respond different things. Pretty simple but fun game nonetheless!

gladiatorium by Jejkobb 2024-04-30T21:54:46Z

Such an adorable game! Reminds me a lot of that Sonic Frontiers mechanic, combined with Pokemon. Really cute graphics and music, and such an innovative game loop. Awesome stuff!

Technorogue by Andreadbx 2024-04-17T01:12:42Z

The combat felt a bit rough to play through, as most of the time the enemy could hit me before I even had a chance to attack, while at other times, I could attack freely without any worries. I also encountered a bug twice where I couldn't hit an enemy after my summon died, but the enemy could hit me, which resulted in me having to face a game over. Screenshot 2024-04-16 220817.png Game loop is okay, the shop sometimes displayed that I had negative points when purchasing something. My best compliment is to the soundtrack, I really like how the same motif was used but for different rooms, it adds a sense of connection and it's nice! Overall not bad, with some polishing and a few bug fixes, I could totally see this being expanded upon. Cool stuff!

Resurrection Bar by TwoE 2024-04-16T19:58:30Z

Yeah just like @themaskedman, I couldn't load the game myself too.

Screenshot 2024-04-16 165706.png

GODAI: The Ninja Way by exofrenon 2024-05-02T22:19:20Z

Super fun aesthetic this one provides, really do dig the art and music for it! It's not overly complicated, just takes a while to get. Very fun entry!

UltraLED by Jared York 2024-04-16T20:37:33Z

It's an interesting concept, I like the mechanic. Definitely some potential to add more onto this game!

Let Me Cook! by reaxt 2024-04-28T01:50:19Z

Really cool entry! I really like the idea, it's super unique, and the aesthetic of the game is incredible. Lovely art and super duper cool addition of the adaptive music :D

A Grave Mistake by JUSTCAMH 2024-04-29T00:10:37Z

This one was very unique, and interesting to go through. I really did like the puzzle idea, but I do think it's a bit too vague on what to do. You really do have to experiment a lot, which by itself wouldn't be so much of an issue, but I think people would drift away from the game quickly, considering it's a game jam entry. Good stuff though!

DemoNoloGist by Neon Glass 2024-05-01T00:43:20Z

Super interesting game loop you got going on! I think anyone with a lot of keyboard experience, rather than just gaming will do well with this game. It's also nice having the easy mode and accessibility toggles in the game. Art and music have a charm to them as well. Good stuff!

My Little Demons by Kaish 2024-04-27T01:15:18Z

Such a charming entry! I loved every aspect of it, great stuff you have here. The music was particularly intriguing to me, especially with it having the My Little Pony motif at the beginning. Awesome!!!

bleblablaou

Footlong Flight by YellowKamel 2024-04-17T02:35:01Z

This was an interesting one to go through! I really like the visuals, they're very appealing to me. I do agree with @timidger about the laser pointer. I originally thought that you could control the fly with either the arrow keys, or the mouse (which would be the laser pointer). It's a bit difficult, I personally couldn't figure out what to do when the pentagrams showed up, but I couldn't really outrun them. Good game you got going on!

Decades And Dragons by Ein 2024-04-16T20:58:34Z

This was a very clever one! I'm a big fan of the idea, and the game was executed really well. Very nice mood, not overly complicated puzzles. Great stuff!

Demonic Dominion by LaserPanzerWal 2024-05-02T21:56:52Z

I really do like the idea, but it does feel a bit empty as of right now. And I can understand why, reading the description and all. It's a solid concept as it is right now though, really good stuff!

Capture the King by ZEN 2024-04-16T21:31:24Z

I really like the idea of this game! The AI of the pieces can be both really good for the strategy you make, but also detrimental depending on what happens. I think sorting the board randomly every time you retry is a bit flawed though, as that let me kinda have freebies because of luck. I could've spammed towers for some of the levels because of that. But very good game loop, and it's a pretty innovative idea! Screenshot 2024-04-16 182735.png

Dungeon Summoner by Pomo 2024-04-27T02:39:18Z

Awesome game loop! It's an interesting take in tower defenses, and it's pretty simple, but really fun regardless. Good stuff!

Souls 'R Us by Aarimous 2024-04-24T17:31:00Z

Love these games where your whole objective is to keep grinding over and over again. I honestly kinda wish the game didn't have the 666 soul cap, because that stopped me from being able to keep stacking up a lot of souls before the upgrade shop could appear haha. Really nice stuff!

Screenshot 2024-04-24 142809.png Screenshot 2024-04-24 142850.png

The Mage And The Assassins by 0X_VOID_X0 2024-04-29T00:29:06Z

Super interesting idea of managing different mechanics at once, even though it can get pretty overwhelming quickly. You gotta build up a strategy for the game, but it's definitely not impossible. Great art and audio too, awesome work!

Mycelium Runner by suvi 2024-04-16T21:14:01Z

Interesting idea, the game mechanics are nice. Some audio would come in nicely for the game's general mood. Nice stuff!

Saturna's Hand by parkuhrmd 2024-04-16T20:26:54Z

Really interesting idea of a game! The game loop makes me wanna keep trying to get the best combos I can. I love the aesthetics too, the music was matching really well with sounds and the art of the game. Screenshot 2024-04-16 172301.png

Totem Breakout by denilseven 2024-04-26T23:48:32Z

Lovely battle game you got going on! I can totally see this expanded upon and having more enemies and attacks as well. Good stuff!

Demanager by satacat 2024-04-28T01:28:52Z

I really liked the overall idea of the game! The mechanics were slightly confusing at first, and I think it could have a bit more tweaking to it, to make the game play more understandable. Great art and audio, awesome stuff!

Danger Zone! by Romulo_Developer 2024-04-28T23:26:20Z

Really fun game! I like the concept a lot, having to choose if you wanna rather focus on the objective, getting more allies or more damage. It's a very simple but effective idea, and with a few tweaks with the optimization for webgl, it could go a lot way. You could also have it so the game checks if you have maxed allies, and if so, it doesn't spawn any more blue circles, since you wouldn't need them anymore.

Danger Zone! by Romulo_Developer 2024-05-01T17:50:57Z

Tried it out again, the webgl seems much better now yes, but there's still occasional lag from time to time. It seems to mostly happen when there's 10 units with the player. When moving to the next level it does fix it though.

But wow this game is much harder without the lag. I'd even say, it's a bit too hard, since you rely a lot on having maxed out units, and that's just gonna happen if you have good RNG. So if you don't have 10 units with you, the enemies WILL overwhelm you super quickly, and there's not even invisibility frames, which can make dying feel a bit frustrating, especially if you die due to loads of enemies clumped up together since you couldn't kill them anymore.

Managed to upgrade my score a bit too. Screenshot 2024-05-01 144711.png

HEXX by andrewkennedy 2024-04-17T01:20:38Z

I love this concept! I think multiplayer would go a long way with this game, so it's nice that there's an option to play with a friend. This entry is a great example of simple, yet effective. The AI was pretty challenging to play against too. Nice job!

Throes of the Javelin by MatterLinx 2024-04-27T02:07:57Z

Bloody phenomenal! This has HUGE potential to be expanded upon, having different levels and such. Please work more on it in the future, I'd love to see more!! <3

Idle Hands by Saryah 2024-04-24T16:54:18Z

This game has a very solid idea and I think it could definitively go places. The concept is pretty neat and gives the game potential to expand upon the levels themselves. Loved the player's model, and the audio is nice, though I do think some music could've added to the overall atmosphere. Very nice!

Screenshot 2024-04-24 135056.png

Pictomancer by RobLaro 2024-04-28T22:57:57Z

Very charming game! I love the idea of a tycoon game like this, it's pretty unique. The graphics were lovely, so was the sound effects. Unfortunately, the music didn't seem to be working for me though. Good stuff!

Conjuring Mama by Telkan 2024-04-28T22:03:10Z

Pretty cool game! At first I only got the landlord ending, so I tried again and got the better ending! Really fun one, it's cool to try and speedrun the typing minigame. Nice job!

Mammon & Sons by HexStart 2024-05-01T00:11:09Z

Absolutely incredible! My favorite entry so far, it's super addicting, very well polished, amazing game loop, there's not even enough words for me to describe in such short amount of time. Super well done, great job to the team!

Hell's Company by Himiko Morena 2024-05-02T21:21:39Z

It's an interesting concept overall, I like the gameplay loop, but kinda wish the orders would come in quicker overtime, since once you get the hang of which summons are the weak, medium and strong ones are, you can kinda just have a full inventory + another summon ready in the incubator, and you kinda just wait around for a long time.

Not bad at all, nice job!

CHAZM by amarokczukay 2024-04-27T00:58:57Z

Wow! Amazing stuff, really goes to show how less is more. Such a simple concept, yet it's really addicting and fun to play! :D

Chain Reaction by Ategon 2024-04-24T17:40:34Z

So interesting! The concept and theme really blended well nicely for this game. At first I was a bit confused on what was the best way to get more points, but after playing for some time, I kinda figured it out.

Screenshot 2024-04-24 143832.png

Not the highest rank ever but hey, the game was still super fun, and that's what it's all about. Awesome job!

Pony Summon Quest by brainles etertainment 2024-04-30T22:39:39Z

Overall, has a lot more potential to it. I wish summoning ponies would actually benefit you over time, like giving you mana per second/minute, or some other bonus. Right now the game loop just feels like using the gacha machine until you get lucky to get all ponies (if that's even the final objective, not sure what it really was). It's not bad, but can definitely be better. Art was the best part for me, the illustrations were nice. Good job!

Screenshot 2024-04-30 193720.png

Maid 2 B Summoned by SLEEPYMENACE 2024-04-16T18:49:44Z

I can kinda see the theme in this one, but overall not bad! I like the idea of going for a more Wario Ware type of game, although I wish there was a bit more mini-games to play. Audio would've also added a lot of suspense and make the gameplay more thrilling too. Good stuff!

Date Summons by Pokopish 2024-04-16T19:27:26Z

@roughskin Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the music. I might consider uploading them to other platforms like YouTube or Spotify so people can freely listen to them :D

@ategon Thank you for playing!! It'd be an honor to have our game in the intermission, so feel free to use gameplay footage of it :D

🐑 S.H.E.E.P - Sheep Hell Emissaries, Eradicate Purity 🐑 by Shenoit 2024-04-28T21:54:45Z

Very interesting! I liked the game overall, the art and audio was fun. Really reminds me a lot of those mobile game ads that pops up from time to time haha. Good stuff!

Butler! Summon the Imps! by jummbus 2024-04-28T02:29:00Z

What a fantastic entry!!! The graphics, music, and humor has got so much charm to it! I really loved this one, great job. Looking forward to the next update with the attic level!

Elemental Frontiers by Floke 2024-04-24T17:41:30Z

Cool tower defense game you got going on. Definitely has a lot more potential, and I like the idea of using hex tiles to place units. Good stuff!

Hat vs Evil by minjutin 2024-04-16T19:23:39Z

I think it's an interesting take on tower defenses, considering in this one you get different materials to build your towers rather than just using the same currency. However I do think it's a bit too overwhelming at the beginning, since even after reading the contract, the player can still get lost as they haven't adjusted to the mechanics in practice. Cool idea though, it has potential!

DESTROY THE WIZARD by LonelyGameDev 2024-04-26T23:35:25Z

I loved the simplicity of this one, and it's nice how the enemy does the summoning, rather than the actual player. Good job!

INFINIWITCH by drainkid 2024-04-16T19:06:35Z

One of the most innovative entries, and I think games that I've played in general during my whole life. I simply LOVE the concept of this game, and I think there's a huge potential to expand upon it to make different bosses/stages! The music was super fun and engaging, just as much as the sound effects as well, and I love the simple art style the game has. Very well done!

Leprechaun's Gold by Stowy 2024-04-26T23:18:32Z

I really like the idea of having to do combos for casting different spells. Pretty good!

Loved the graphics and audio! There was a lot of charm behind it, and it was really appealing to the eye. The mechanics are a bit challenging, as sometimes it is rather difficult figuring out which ritual the person needs to do, but overall it's a very nice game you all got going on. Awesome work!

Some interesting mechanics that have potential for a platformer. Good stuff!

And as a fellow brazilian, I can 100% guarantee that this is exactly how our country looks like haha.

I loved the different summon mechanics the game gave you. However I do wish that the timer was a bit more forgiving, because the timing in certain stages has to be very precise, and the jumping sometimes is inconsistent, as in when attempting to jump, the character doesn't jump when it felt like they should've (coyote time could've helped with this)

Very good stuff overall!

PARTYCRUSHER... or something cool like that by zirzak 2024-04-30T22:22:12Z

Very different approach from other games, thought it was kinda charming. Some audio and perhaps background images could've added a bit more to it, but good stuff regardless!

Nice little platformer! It fit well with the theme, and the art and music were pretty good as well. Nice job!

Adorable!!! Love this concept, pretty different from most games. Short and sweet, nice job!

This game at it's current state is a pretty solid base! I'd love to see this concept more developed. The idea of having a more powerful attack at the cost of your health is pretty interesting. The visuals was the best part for me, I really like the Game Boy aesthetic :D

It's pretty simple, although the English version still had some Russian words that I unfortunately couldn't read.
