LDJam seems to not like the files I've uploaded so please use the itch.io build instead because it actually allows you to download the game. (Update - It finally let me reupload the game! The uploaded file is the final build compiled before the jam ended)

LoL, the way your game explore the theme of summonning is definitely some special. I love the art work
This was very fun! Lots of in depth analysis! However it was a bit confusing to navigate at time, might just be me. Overall though very fun!

Hey, I downloaded the game off of Itch.io like you asked. I played 6 rounds. I really like the idea and I laughed a few times at the dialogue and summoning concepts. I liked the art and interactivity and how when you open the book and scroll through, your character on the left does that as well. The auto-typing text and vocal samples were a nice touch.
I think there's a few small QoL features that could be implemented, most I think you'd already realize by playing through a few times yourself. I also found that asking and selecting the prompts is a little clunky. These are small, unimportant details for a game made in three days.
Overall, I enjoyed the game and I hope you enjoyed the process of making it.
Love a unique interpretation of the theme! Figuring out how to get the most information while asking the least questions is an interesting challenge. I didn't end up really using the notes because moving between the book, computer, and notes for information feels a little tedious. It might've been nice to have the information easier to toggle between or more dense, but honestly the tedium's kind of perfect for a desk job.
If I could have given a 6 for innovation, I would. Such a cool idea, and executed really really well.
The ability to take any word and pin it up to the board was so novel. And the patience meter and _really_ felt like working in tech support (It was a little bit _too real_ at times)!
The audio was a mixed bag for me - the sound effects were good, but I think the music detracted from the rest of it. I would have liked to been able to mute the music. Also, the split screen felt a bit claustrophobic - although I did like how it felt kind of cozy going back and forth between the items on your desk.
Overall, really great job!

I love the art style, the souunds bothers me a little bit but overall a nice game, it gives the fanf phone guy vibes at the start lol
Very neat art & audio, and once I understood the task, the game picked up. Really neat idea, the deduction gameplay element felt pretty rewarding when you got it right. I do wish there was a way to speed up text, or click through text, as I found myself waiting a lot to read the information, when It would have been nice to just see it pop up immediately if I wanted. Solid entry and thanks for the mac os build! <3

Nice little game! I liked the concept and graphics! Really fits the theme! I had some issue to win the game (maybe I'm just terrible haha), but nice little game! Well done!

A very nice game with very nice graphics! I struggled for one of the clients lol but the theme is respected, really a good game!

Had a little fun to play it and now I know again, why I dont want to do a customer service job again!

I knew hell was full of bullshit jobs!
Nice and original game. Graphics are great and all play very well.
My lord has risen! Thank you for summoning an incredible game into the jam. I felt both seen and triggered. Great job, team <3
Really kewl and amazing art style and overall gameplay!
I really like the twist on the theme, and the visuals and music really suit the concept well! Gameplay was fun and it feels pretty polished. One thing that would have helped would be having the monitor content visible in the background so you can use the book at the same time - I hardly used the monitor window at all. Overall a really nice entry and I like it a lot!

I the fact it's a tech support game. The mechanic of detecting your way through the puzzle is super fun. Post-jam would be great to fix that post-it note bug but otherwise excellent well polish game. :)
@saryah Yeah I agree - The limit to post-it notes was implemented very last minute and I never had time to fix the bug with them not disappearing properly.
I initially wrote-off a post-jam release considering how the development went (see https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/hells-on-hold/the-creation-of-hells-on-hold for more info) but seeing all the feedback makes me want to polish a post-jam release a lot more.

Thanks for the unique experience of seeing your game live on our stream last Wednesday! I enjoyed taking the phone calls!

This was more difficult than I expected :grinning: Making it so that it is non-obvious what the problem is and additionally making the player balance caller patience and support tries while also giving the interactions a very real feel by having to juggle notes, a book and a computer was really fun and creative! Reading the description I was not sure if it would like the game, but you won me over instantly!
Sadly, it crashed at some point for me - feels like I triggered two things at once because it lagged shortly before that trying to switch between two states. Didn't keep me from just starting again though

I WANT TO SERVE PANDEMONICA.... Oh. That's not the game. Uh, excuse me.
@bumble Oh dear - That's the first we're hearing of a crash since the initial launch - Don't suppose you have the traceback, or know roughly how long the game had been going on/ points achieved?

@oblivioncreator I played it in the browser as a pop-out window and when it crashed it gave me this message (as an alert): "An error occurred before the game window could be initialised. Please check the console!". When I check the console there is nothing in it. When I dismiss the error message the game is frozen and only finishes playing the main music loop, then goes silent. I managed to replicate it just now to write this message. I think the lags start happening when you are asked if you want to change something and then you say no but change your mind and then press yes (which the game seems to ignore but starts lagging for me). At least this is what I did a few times and then the crash happened. Sorry but this is all I got from my testing.

@bumble would it be possible to make a screen recording of this error?
STOOOOP MY TEAM DID THE SAME THING (corporate demons)!!! I love the splash art!
Heads up, the sound did not work in the downloaded version for some reason. the music in the online version is cute! I think that this could have been a time to record audio lines for the calls, but I could see if you ran out of time Overall very fun!
Very innovative approach. At first I was annoyed that callers don't even state what they are trying to do, so I can look up a solution, but then I realized it is because this is a real-life experience of help desk people
I enjoyed browsing the book, especially because every time I flipped the page, there was a small animation of us doing so behind the desk. Loved that  Sticky Notes are also very cleverly done. The game reminded me of Strange Horticulture, which I very much liked as well.
A bit of feedback: I feel like you could have had the whole scene zoomed out a little bit, because currently there is a need to scroll left/right, especially when you can't really see two things at the same time (the book and a computer).
I feel like there should be an option to "Change Something" without going in to ask about any particular topic. A couple of times I figured out what's wrong while being outside of conversation, and had to ask about a thing I knew about (lowering their patience), then tell the customer to change something.
Sounds of typing, and the speed of letters appearing were a bit annoying to be honest. Similarly, I didn't find the music very fitting.
Very nice! It's a cute game with a very good presentation. It was fun!

Loved the graphics and audio! There was a lot of charm behind it, and it was really appealing to the eye. The mechanics are a bit challenging, as sometimes it is rather difficult figuring out which ritual the person needs to do, but overall it's a very nice game you all got going on. Awesome work!
