This game is great. The visuals are really nice especially with the character flipping and the awesome sprite work. The music compliments the game nicely and the acapella track was a great switch up on it
This is a great take on the theme. I love microgame based games and this merged all the different games together with game jamception which is really fun. One critique is days lasted a bit too long but otherwise extremely solid. Got called out on the forgot to eat earlier on day 3 lol
The game is great! The concept is really simple but it works really well. Its pretty fun to keep trying to get higher and higher scores especially with the global leaderboard you implemented. The keybind switching is also a nice touch. As a counter to the other comments I feel like the length of the game is fine. If you continue it a bit more post jam though something to add could be adding more weight to the end of the timer instead of it being a sudden cut off (ex. the bars on the side could flash a color while nearing time up as one part of that)
Really fun game! The risk reward of using matches for light vs combat worked really well and the visuals definitely set the mood. The lightning was also a great addition to give an alternative to matches. If you continue this post jam one thing you could add is a visual on the player to show they're being hurt (such as a hurt animation) to add some more impact to the zombie attacks
Definitely one of my favorites in the jam. Everything is pretty well balanced and all the bosses having different attack patterns is great. Music and art were both phenomenal. Near the start of my playthrough there was a bit too much going on at once so I tended to focus solely on matching things and hoping it worked but as I went though and that didn't work anymore I definitely paid more and more attention to the enemies attacks and it was pretty manageable to swap between what to look at.
The swapping blocks mechanic seemed extremely simple at the start but ended up created a ton of depth which was really nice. Since it only worked to switch side to side it forces you to think more about your moves to get some big lines built up vertically (as opposed to random spam) which ended up being fun to plan out
Managed to defeat the final boss after somewhere around 10 tries. Congrats on making the game and hope it does well!

Pretty fun game! The time loop with knowledge progress was a nice idea and is a good way to fit within the theme. There was a couple visual bugs (ex. player shaking) that I noticed throughout the run but that's to be expected from the short amount of time. It's unfortunately very easy to bypass a part of the game which I ended up doing accidentally when playing.
!> I entered the kitchen immediately after getting into the hallway section since I was doing left doors first then right and that was the first working left door.
Sounds work well with the game though and the visuals are great
This game is phenomenal! Everything works together to bring a great experience. Both music & visuals compliment the gameplay nicely especially with the smooth fading between the two states. The switching between mortality and not also leads to some nice gameplay and puzzles especially with the things like enemies only being active in one state.
Pretty nice game! The concept of tiles disappearing is a cool concept and leads to some nice risk reward for risking going ahead or waiting for them to show again.
Pretty nice merging game! The gameplay loop was fun with the option to do things like save up a lot of medium size tiles or merge them all to have a lot of short term power. One thing to add in if you continue post jam is increasing the numbers of everything on the board when there's the level ups instead of only new spawns as there's a period where the player can't merge much (and then lingering tiles)
Pretty nice take on a brick breaker! Controlling two paddles is a nice challenge and leads to some fun gameplay. One thing if you continue this concept post jam is changing a bit how the player controlling no paddles works to give the player a bit more control as it feels a bit off to not be able to do anything for 10 seconds. Overall great work for a first LD!
Pretty nice game! The season swaps is a good take on the theme especially the way you utilized it with the mechanics
Really well made trading game. The way the prices fluctuated were well balanced and the music set the mood well (plus the addition of the death counter really added more to the mood even if its purely informative).
Fun little bullet heaven with a solid core. The main thing that felt was missing was more variety in the weapons / upgrades as it tended to just become doing the same things over and over but the little polish details such as the wavy text and transitions between scenes were great

Music and art worked well (I especially like the moving fog). Only thing I felt was missing was the double jump resetting on a hit. Tends to make it very easy to accidentally break your streak and makes it more rng of if you have a zombie that spawned to where you accidentally side hit yourself to. (I notice the double jump resetting sometimes but I have no idea how and it tends to not be consistent)
Overall feels really good to play though
@ghostbomb Ah yeah I never saw that tip text (or paid attention to it when it did show up). That could work but it depends what you want to go for in terms of the optimal strategy. Pogoing and pogo camping tends to be highly favored over the grasp currently due to how consistent it is and it giving you lots of time to react in the falling time + being able to easily reposition yourself afterwards due to no additional momentum in one direction. Buffing the double jump would make the grasp be able to be on an equal use level since it would give people more time to think + allow people to set it up better since currently you can miss time it due to your falling velocity
Forgot to mention this before. The scores I got were from playing with the keyboard controls. I personally really enjoyed the control layout you made and just wanted to mention that since a lot of other comments you have seem to be disliking the keyboard control scheme
Fun little bullet heaven. The graphics were great (I especially liked the rolling tomato). The upgrades felt a bit off since they primarily only changed stats rather than having build changing aspects as is usual in the genre but the concept of switching it up with needing to control certain points on the map was nice
Fun twin stick shooter. Seems to be fairly well balanced although getting more cannons early game can give you an advantage. Art compliments the gameplay nicely
Very interesting concept that worked really well with the theme. The mechanics are simple but they don't get old and the struggle of trying to make enough to feed your family was a nice goal. The vibe of the game got built up really well as well as the slow introduction into the fact youre harvesting the people youre feeding
This was an absolutely phenomenal game. The crow voice acting was great with getting the player to do worse and worse things. The music complemented the game really well and did not get tiring at all due to the long loop. It is absolutely something I would listen to outside the game if posted on youtube or spotify or something. The one thing I got stuck on for a bit was the stage of planting the pumpkin as up to that point I was only clearing the left side of Bills farm and didnt realize there was a specific hole you were supposed to plant it in that spawned over on the right (edit after playing the game again looks like I accidentally clicked on the soil over on the right without realizing it in the first run which created the hole and then I couldnt make another). The little polish details such as the wind particles and the corn physics were really nice touches that helped make the game feel very good to play
Overall 10/10. Ive loved your games in the all ludum dares since ive been participating and cant wait to see some other games made by you
An extremely fun game! The art and music are great, the palette choice of mostly purple in your base makes it feel really feel like a complete city and the cues in the music such as certain motifs playing in the day song when its near night was nice to keep track of time. Was a bit confused at the start since its not inherently obvious you can interact with the spire but eventually figured it out. One thing that felt was missing was a way to delete things you placed down. I sometimes accidentally placed roads in my farming fields and couldn't remove them. Also ran into a slight issue with the friend AI where they would till things on the other side of walls even if it took a really long time to get there. Overall though very enjoyable and a great entry
Really well polished game. The art and music were great and complimented the gameplay nicely. The mechanic to build up how the wave of enemies would be worked well for players to set their own pace and have more risk to get more rewards. The tutorial could be spread out into the game a bit more rather than just being completely thrown at the player as it tends to be a giant info bomb but the fact its there in general is great
Really fun game! The 2.5d style works really well and it was fun to try to discover all of the combinations. I managed to get every single one somehow. As other people said the needing to hit x was a bit annoying as well as the fact that you could accidentally remove all your built up points (maybe having a feature where you cant harvest until every tile is filled up with something to prevent it as it feels annoying to accidentally hit it but chill mode is too easy). The music and sound effects complimented the game nicely and gave some nice chill vibes

Fun little city puzzle game. Art and music are both great and compliment the game nicely. Unfortunately a player can be affected a lot by rng to lose by no fault of their own which tends to not feel great especially in a puzzle game. The refreshing helped offset that a bit but as the currency is apples for it it tends to still mess you up by taking away your resources (maybe have 1 free refresh per island?). Managed to get to the end and the mechanic switch up with the castle acting as multiple tiles was a nice addition to change up strategies as a sort of final boss
Noticed there was a bit of a leaderboard going on so figured I would submit a score. Almost cracked 500 apples but its still good enough for 4th

Nice chill fishing type game. The graphics and audio compliment the game nicely (although the hook was jittering a bit as it descended). The transition from the boat to the hook is great and the addition of a leaderboard is nice as a overall goal to achieve a high placement on
Really fun take on the theme with harvesting gold from cities. The different cities you attack with each one having a separate increasing gold amount added some nice depth. Only major thing that was missing was music to go in the background (some metal music while destroying cities would work really well)

Overall a very fun game that starts out fairly easy but quickly spirals out of control as more and more fish get thrown onto the pile of things that you have to remember. Music compliments the game really well and the fact each fish has a different main thing that differentiates it (hue, mouth, gills, etc.) makes the gameplay of spotting the different fish not get old. Definitely gives the feeling of continually wanting to play one more round so you can try to get to the top of the leaderboard. Well done :)
edit - forgot to mention but the voice acting is also great and also compliments the vibes of the game really well
Pretty nice take on the theme. The fact its balanced to make people always experience the giant sand worm is great. The low visibility mechanic worked really well to add to the game vibe, the gameplay was straightforward, and the sounds and art complimented the game nicely
Really nice visuals for a jam game with everything being great to look at while playing. Took me a while to find certain tools on the map which hindered my score a lot but the overall concept is great and had a nice loop once I had everything required to farm. The one thing if you push some more updates post jam that I feel could make it better is instead of having a how to section with a bunch of info, spread that into the gameplay to teach it to the player over time (as once you enter the game you tend to forget most of it since its a giant info bomb)
Really nice take on the bullet heaven genre. The addition of the harvest theme through needing to manually harvest your enemies works really well and leads to some nice risk reward gameplay with trying to find a good time to collect them before they despawn (as well as an upgrade to lower the effect of that when the player would start getting annoyed at it also was great). Using the enemies as a secondary currency for other upgrades as well was a really nice concept that further complimented the harvesting gameplay. The visuals also felt extremely polished with the glitch effects and particles
Fun tower defense. After trying to get past the starting couple waves a few times managed to make it through with just a strategy of spamming pumpkins as they have a net gain of +3 and are cheap at 7 gold. The main mechanic of needing to uproot your defenses for your economy works really well. If you continue this a bit post jam one thing is it would be nice to be able to drag to mass remove defenses as it can get a bit annoying to need to rapid tap over and over and its easy to softlock yourself at the start of the game by accidentally harvesting a plant early. Visuals complimented the game nicely and I managed to make it all the way to the end
Nice little sokoban game. Speed is a bit slow but the art and sound does a phenomenal job of building up the game vibes
Nice start to a game. The art looks nice and I especially like the character selector + palette swaps you created (with the palette swap also affecting the ship). Was going to mention diagonal movement but looks like youve already handled that
Really fun little game. The fact the text rhymed was great as well as the progression into eating entire planets lol. One thing if you continue post jam is to have a way to either replay text or make sure people arent spamming the button since I accidentally skipped a section of text and had trouble figuring out what to do for a bit. The art and music though worked well to compliment it and was definitely great humor wise
Fun game with the nice twist of needing to control two things at the same time. Both vehicles interacted well with each other and gave enough different mechanics that the gameplay didn't get boring and was fun to chase high scores. Got around 500k as my score
Really nice racing game implementing the mechanic of harvesting well with making the player both be able to see where they were last lap + encourage them to take other paths. The music worked well with the vibes of the game and the corn regrowing was a nice effect. On the first lap it was a bit difficult to see where you were supposed to go for the turns since the fence blends in to the background a bit plus the lines of no corn around the turns made it seem like there actually wasnt a turn there
Really nice take on the theme with reversing the concept to preventing harvests. The two kinds of colors (red and blue) provided some nice variety in gameplay especially since the ways to get rid of them require different strategies
Pretty fun game! The art and music are nice and compliment the gameplay really well. One thing that felt a bit off was the lack of anticipation frames on enemies damaging you as it didn't feel like it had enough weight to the action. The way the map was set up though was great with the winding rooms that make you feel like you can get lost. Was easy to learn how to play and was a nice short experience.

Really well made game, everything worked really well together. The acapella streak continues, that boss fight music is great lol. Also love how the main menu theme is the same pattern as the boss fight music and that theres a resume boss fight music button

Hi @ismael-rodriguez, I submitted the game to score chasers (tournament where a bunch of people in the jam compete in different games) and was wondering if you would be willing to make an update to add a couple things. (speedrun timer visible at all times in the game itself, quick hard restart button, + fixed restart glitch where currenty the timer keeps going). If not thats fine and if you want to wait until its chosen for sure to be played then that should be decided in around a day. Really fun game. Couldn't quite beat Ricky but ill take my victory over @ruruie as #1 in Ontario. The music is a bop and the artstyle works great. Optimizing your run to deliver as much as possible is a lot of fun
Some things that could be worked on if you continue this post jam - Adding some way to see packages without needing to rely on the minimap - Patching out camping. Unfortunately still rules as the dominant strategy even with the enemies shooting bullets (Since on the upper rooftops only the big guys shoot bullets and then you can target them / let them be trapped by the smaller ones so they cant get to you) - Adding some invincibility after the player gets hit. Often when you mess up and something starts damaging you you take a ton of damage or can get 1 shot especially in the later days

Pretty nice game. Its fun to try to speedrun since youve got that system set up and the truck getting thrown around all over the place as you move is great lol. The truck is a bit too difficult to control since its based on tapping. Making you able to drag off it in order to stop moving (rather than just stop tapping) or adding hotkeys to control it would make it easier. Music and art compliment the gameplay nicely and are great

@josephgallear yeah some of the cars coming from behind can get you. You can move forwards so that you have more of a window to react to them when they arrive but yeah a warning symbol could be good to show spawn points
@machinescreen you can dash with RMB to jump over a 1 lane thick wall
@0x-void-x0 dash always moves two lanes over and adjusts to the center of the lane. Tends to be good to get over 1 lane walls but yeah with movement tends to struggle
@fabula-rasa with the dead ends theres a way to jump over the wall using your dash. Dash moves two lanes in the direction you tap (with a or d) so you can jump over the wall separating the dead end from the rest of the road

Pretty fun game, the news prompts + responses to them had a really nice variety + the news stories were great. The music complimented the game well. If you continue this post jam something to add could be audio effects responding to how you answer (such as people saying boo when you say things like local clowns holding people hostage is a heartwarming story) to add more weight to your actions
Pretty fun rhythm game. The core concept of needing to swipe the boxes was a neat concept and has some nice challenge with trying not to hit things on the way back. The game is a bit too punishing for people starting out with it (with the massive deductions from missing, mistakes tending to compound, & certain sections being completely different and harder than the rest) but once you've gone through it a couple times its nice to go through

Really fun game! The artstyle is great with everything bobbing back and forth as well as the main menu being 2.5d and showing off the sprites in that perspective. Music compliments the gameplay extremely well and it was fun to solve the likes and dislikes (got up to a score of 109 before I forced myself to stop or else I would be here for a very long time)

Nice little game. On the first run its a bit hard to know what to do but then you figure out you need to balance the three stats at the end afterwards. If you continue on this a bit post jam heres some things you could add: - Some music in the background for people to listen to while playing. Music adds so much to flesh out games and add to the ambiance even if its just a simple track - Some background on the text as the text in the top left (and right) is a bit hard to see against the page background due to some objects in the page background being lighter colors. For something really simple you can just do a box the same color as your person selection box

@simon-rahnasto Yeah for Mood and Humor I was rushing a bit at the end and running on no sleep so just disabled them both since we didnt really target either of them (Although both probably could have been enabled)

@guardaro the deeper part comes from the fact the games get faster and faster the more you survive. A bit easier to get further in the post jam version to get to that point and heres a quick gif of me around level 80 (yes this is actual in game speed) (ignore the glitching, for some reason licecap doesnt like recording the game)

Nice little fishing game. Everythings built up really well and I like the fact you can turn on or off the music. Graphics are great and the fishing loop is nice. Addition of upgrades + the inspection mechanics are great. Couldnt get to everything as its paced a bit slowly for a jam game but enjoyed the stuff I did

Really well made game. Flipping the mechanics at the end to make the player need to get the opposite goal of what they were getting throughout the game was a really nice addition. Certain things werent as clear such as how many jurors can be added on (with initial purchasing seems like max is 5 since that fills the stands with the starting margin between jurors and theres nothing to indicate otherwise unless someone experiments with that which may not happen). The game itself though feels like really complete experience and theres lots of polish everywhere including things like changing the palette in the mickey trial and the expressions of the defendant

Fun game to play. Graphics look nice and music works well in the background
Initially I didnt read the game page so my first reaction to the UI was to click on the icons which ended up spawning the people on the top area behind it. Read the page afterwards though to figure out it was click and drag
Theres a bit of a bug if the game screen is resized to be different than the size it spawns at. The in game cursor moves a different amount than the actual cursor since it doesnt take the resize into effect for its movement. More noticable at smaller sizes and ended up running into it since my main monitor is smaller so had to switch to another one. For audio the sound when the $300 person reaches the end of the screen is balanced louder than everything else which takes away a bit from being able to vibe to the background music as something to adjust if you work on this a bit more post jam. Other sounds seemed fine. Main menu graphic and the fact youve got a custom cursor is great
Some post jam ideas if you continue work on the game - A shadow below the people / enemies to add some more depth / shading to the scene - A second frame on the mouse cursor that it swaps to when the player clicks down (so that theres more weight to that action). Could also do a third one when something thats interactable (in this case the play button and the the top icons) is hovered over and you could even do a fourth when dragging a character onto the field. Theres a lot of other stuff you could do to the cursor like messing with tweens but frame swaps tends to be the easiest thing to get in and adds a lot to the experience - Adding a border to the circles in the top right. The rest of the UI has a 1px black border apart from those so looks a bit off currently when looking at them - Adding some interaction to the top icons to show theyre interactable (could be something like what you did with the play button in the main menu)
Overall well made though and congrats on getting it done in a custom engine
edit: also I just realized but the little touch where the main menu changes after a run is great

@ciaranw The rock paper scissors was implemented backwards on accident so it does the opposite of what it says in the book
Enemies will only attack the element category thats coded for them to beat and ignore all other enemies (so in the game fire is coded to attack any spirit enemies including water and water will attack any body elements like earth, salt, etc. only)

Really fun game. Music is great and the difficulty curve felt nice. Reminds me a lot of puyo puyo with the strategies where you can set up combos but this also has some strategies with trying to preserve things close enough to each other to make large chains without triggering them early.
One thing if you work on it more in post jam would be adding more weight to losing. Currently it just does the same popup as the effects on level up but you can differentiate it more from that and add some polish effects as well (lots of different options depending on what you want like screenshake, vignette, etc.)

Hey 100th coin, im the host for score chasers again and wanted to ask if youre fine if I use gameplay + music from the game for the intermission video (music is currently planned to be a mixed together version of the in game track along with the acapella version of it, not sure if thats actually mixed together in game since I havent played through it yet (will end up sending a vid here in the future when I do with feedback))
Played through your game on stream, you can see me go through it in the vod below (last chapter is the chapter for the game). Visuals and audio were great and everything in game meshed really well together. The polish details everywhere were really good (with the dynamic music changing when going over a building spot and the parallax, god rays, etc. in the background). The main thing to work on if you work on it more in post jam (or as a takeaway for future jams) would be matching the UI to the level of polish that exists in game. There was some issues with the fonts with some blurry text and missmatching fonts and the starting and end screens are pretty much currently just basic UI elements slapped onto a solid color background. Adding a tiny bit of movement to things on the main menu (with something like the little creatures hopping around) as well as making the buttons feel juicier would go a long way to making that on the level of the main portion of the game. (That is mostly me being nitpicky though but the overall game itself is awesome)

Really fun game. Visuals work really well and are nicely polished and the music compliments the gameplay well. The squeezelings ended up being fun to manage (although I think I mostly lucked out in my evolution line that won me the game since my strategy was to pretty much just spam new plants which got me to the end very quick). Can get to be a lot to manage late game but ends soon after so that ends up being fine.
The differentiation to show squeezelings that have existed for a long time is a really good qol addition. The toast to show the end goal for some reason dissapeared very quickly for me (maybe due to me planting things when it was showing?) so didn't know the end goal until I ran into it

Only really yours and the (browser version of the) one after it lagged, was able to run some other webgl games fine. Since it worked on edge im assuming its something to do with the browser settings though being underpowered than what your game expects it to be
@leorid stream is set to be a lower fps than my actual pc so ends up showing more choppy in the video when im not actually getting that. Checked again after stream and get the same I did when streaming (even after a computer restart and things like task manager, etc. working fine). I dont think its a technical issue on your side since its just one browser mostly affected but just wanted to give you a heads up that it could affect some people due to limitations of browsers and how people normally set things in them

Fun incremental kind of game (except I guess its reverse incremental). What youve got here was fun to play although theres not much variety with things which ends up getting a bit repetitive (especially since theres no way to see all the progress youve made as the background and size scales with you from the upgrades)

Pretty fun game but has a couple issues with balancing that would be the biggest thing to work on in post jam. Had to do a few runs to figure out what the game wanted me to do.
Early game currently relies on rng (with getting good enemy activator placements and then not getting screwed over by the options it gives you to build). And then late game there's nothing to do currently once you finish building up your defense and need to just keep placing the same plants on themselves over and over while slowly waiting for things to progress.
Some things that could improve on that if you do post jam work is having things unlocked and put in the pool over time as the run progresses to give reasons for changing the defense and rigging the rng a bit at the start to guarantee certain parts that are needed to survive (especially after the first enemy spawns).
Music was nice and complimented the gameplay well (although was a bit repetitive but thats fine for being a jam game) and the art was nice with the little animations each plant did. One thing that could improve on that a bit it having a indicator for the plant youre building when hovering over a tile (e.g. showing it there semi transparent)
This was the defense I made (and that kept me alive from a score of somewhere between 5-10 forget where all the way up to where I died). Ended up dying due to the push plant on the right not being able to push due to having too much of a swarm of enemies and then the enemy getting close and destroying my attack russula. (probably could have survived a tiny bit longer if I replaced the useless activator on the right with something else)

Fun game, reminds me a lot of the flash game era type of games which I love playing. Main thing that felt was missing was music in the background to jam to along with sound effects to add weight to actions happening in the game. Having a hotkey for restarting would probably also be a good addition if you continue post jam (e.g. binding that to r). Also having some sort of progress saving would be a really good QOL addition (either through a level select or just sending the player back to the level they were on) since I accidentally hit exit at one point which reset all progress
