great game!
Really fun game, I couldn't figure out the finger control very well so I think it got a little buggy while I was playing. Overall an amazing take on the theme and super detailed graphics! Could see myself playing for ages if I hadn't accidentally messed up the finger controls.
Thank you @shmi for your feedback! We will try to fix the physics in web but it's really hard. :cry:
Take your candy for waste your time in our game! :candy:
Very innovative! I kept breaking the finger off though lol
I love the music and sound effects, and the heart candy is my favourite ^^ Control of the finger took a bit of adjusting to, but unfortunately I had to restart several times to play the game in bits as my hand along with the jar of candies would just disappear randomly and never come back even though there are still 30 more seconds on the clock :( So I had to use the reload button in-game and start again, but it would inevitably happen every time before the timer runs out.
Love the idea. Physics a bit buggy, I broke the game several times. Personally I'm too scary to make anything with physics cuz I know that physics-based games are really hard to make! Good job!
@ghpxi you are right, we took the scary physics path! And it is our first time with Godot. But we are overall proud of the result despite the janky physics
@denzel yeah, on the last jam I spent whole day tuning train physics to make it smooth (it didn't end up smooth enough)
The idea is clever and the implementation is nice, although a bit buggy. It's just that for me it's every bit as frustrating to get candies from the bottom of the jar in the game as it is in real life š , so I guess in that regard you kinda nailed it lol. The art is great!
About the bugs, sometimes, candies went through the finger, or the finger / hand disappeared, but it's acceptable for a jam and I did not mind restarting.
@aviv-levy Thank you! In the end physics was what give us the most headaches
@denzel totally understandable, physics based games are tough and the end result is still impressive!
Amazing!! In love with this idea, the game is a little buggy, the hand and the finger disappear in some moments and never came back lol msedge_jhDBPA1LMP.png ApplicationFrameHost_qZoq2clrB3.png
Such an innovative idea, and really fun. Unfortunately I kept having issues with the hand disappearing, but that didn't stop me from restarting to try again. Great job!
Creative concept. Cohesive full package design from art to music. A little bit on the buggy side and had to restart a few times due to the hand and candy disappearing, but understandable bugs considering the time constraint. Physics can be such a nightmare to deal with. Nice and helpful tutorialization on the pregame splash screen. Good job all around.
Interesting idea, using physics to create an almost arcade-style grab machine just with a finger haha. Great little game!
@braeden Thank you so much!
@kanity Thank you so much! Do you watched the new star? :star: We heard you and we change it! we wait you like it too!
@ghpxi Thank you too! Yes, the physics are really hard to set, my mind blow trying to fix it... and now it's better but isn't perfect...
@aviv-levy Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to send you the same sensation as ours pulling candy out of the deepest part of the bottle, is exactly what we were looking for! (I hope your hand doesn't disappear in real life! :pray: )
@kgeib thank you, yes, we know it, if the hand disappear... Don't wait for it to come back, better reset and grab some candy again! :lollipop:
@spicymarcus always with a persevering spirit, you deserve the candy from the jar!
@braktheman yes, the physics can be a nightmare but i love the final feel meanwhile you can play, i'm happy with this result, if you download the game it's more difficult to broke it.
@anatol-dumitras Thank you! Yes, it's similar but with more control than a grab machine haha
Finally a lot of candies for you! Thank you for playing! :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy:
This is a clever and innovative idea ! Sadly the game is plagued by game breaking bugs : I had multiple games where the whole hand or the finger simply disappear mid-game, making it impossible to have a decent score...
The art is also quite nice ! The music was good but its loop might be a little too short : it become a little bit annoying after some time.
Thank you @furano , yes, the physics are broken specially in web version but we are happy with the final result, however, the trick is to go slowly and try to take them out one at a time.
Take a candy for your feedback :candy:
Very nice game! Loved it :)
@hagamosvideojuegos yes, I noticed that you fixed the star, it looks really nice ^_^ and this time I managed to complete the game without the hand disappearing and even got onto the leaderboard :) I really like the gameplay idea, I think it's fun :3
super cute and fun to play but I kept having it bug out and the hand would disappear after 2-3 candies :( which is too bad because I like playing around with physics like this and it looks really nice.
cute concept, music, and graphics!
lmao plagued by the disappearing finger with 1 piece and 10 seconds left! Curses! overall good stuff though! The instructions were a bit confusing, I thought clicking would do the opposite, it would stay straight unless you clicked and dragged but yeah otherwise once I ironed it out it was good!
Really Enjoyed this game! the music and art were wonderful, as you know the physics were janky I found that added to the charm haha very nice!
SO SWEET <3
I love the wacky physics the game has, trying to scoop the candy out of the container was difficult at first but became a lot easier once you get used to how to control the hand, the music was a really nice touch that fit the game setting really well, it was so upbeat and relaxing it was the perfect music for a game like this. Good submission!
art is really awesome !!! you (nail)ed the theme in your concept ...gook work
The game concept is good, having a limited space to get the candy out and having it limited window size (couldn't full screen) just added to the challenge!
Pretty cool game with great music and franky amazing graphics ^^ Like I dont even know if the game deserves graphics like that, but it was fun for sure and for its concept, pretty much perfect!
Please tag me if you get the web build working again!
Funny game, feels like a mini-game from Mario Party or Wario Ware. Visually very good! Sounds and music fit very well. Good job everyone!
@yerkwell thank you so much! And congratulations! Actually you are the best in the leaderboard, right? Special candy for you! :lollipop:
@amberfall92 Thank you for playing! We are sorry but the web browser version have broken the physics :(
@takhomasac Thank you!
@snowdrama We tried three ways, without hold, holding clicking and holding without clicking and that for us was the best experience but it's good know it for future games! Thank you!
@ethan-g thank you so much!
@aripize of course! Our candies are really sweety!
@congeesetador thank you!!
@mr-lazy Thank you!
@rusty2117 We had that screen size for embed it in ldjam but finally godot is not compatible and our embed html is not working but if we resize it... have a really bad adjust at this moment, I like to call it a "bugeature" lol
@jadener any times the simplest game need the love of good graphics and @rebekpew know how to do it! :heartbeat:
@cheesepencil Sorry but at this moment the html version it's so buggy, we will try to change the physics core in other moment after the game jam maybe :(
@ismael-rodriguez Thank you so much!!
Candies for all!! :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy:
That was a very funny take on the theme, we've all been there, trying to scoop something up through a small hole. Loved it, simple, silly and happy :3
After some time, I got there and made to the leader board. Wooo
interesting game - if I didn't see the inscription ludum dare 54, I would believe that it is really some version of the game candy crush.. incredible graphics and music
I got all the candy and now i'm the candy king.
I hate my forefinger! Please cut this bad evil off right now!
Lovely game with fun gameplay. The art is so admirable! And the music is also very soothing for the game. Request for the candy with heart shape!
Fun game! Took a little bit to get used to the controls but once I was used to it was able to get all 10 consistently, and always about a second slower than the entries on the leaderboard. Graphics and the music gave a joyful atmosphere which did good at counteracting the little frustration at getting that last candy. Definitely going to go back to this and see if I can get on the board at least once... guess that shows you've made a fun game people want to back to.
I think my score speaks for itself. I've played for 30mn without any breaks. Very fun after you force yourself to play the first few games. Almost got them all 2 by 2 for my 27.3 run.
EDIT: Btw never used the click button, I think it's fine without it.
EDIT2: got a 26.23
This game is super funny! It reminds me of a WarioWare microgame or something. I spent a lot of time trying to break it by attempting to push the box so all the candy falls out, but I couldnt get it to happen, hahaha! Very nice work, very original
I think I saw your dev post during the jam and I was really interested in playing this! The art looks so good. Great job!
A wonderful interpretation of the theme!
A most charming game! I really liked this. Mechanic is really well done. Finger felt so real that it personally hurt a bit when it got jammed. Very simple and short, but it's pretty much a complete experience. It would have been nice to have a few more levels, with different container shapes. Maybe even just a first level with a large opening on the container, which I'm sure would have been straightforward to implement, but could have made it feel like a lot more content and offer more playtime.
What a nice, upbeat and charming entry! It was pretty bold to go to a physics-based game for a game jam, but you pulled it off. Wonderful artwork and music, great job!
Short and sweet! I was surprised by how damn polished this game was, though seeing how the game itself lasts about 40 seconds, I can see you just used your priorities well and spent it on making the game beautiful. The mechanic is so simple and straight-forward, needs no explaining, and messing around with the physics is always great fun! Very creative use of the theme too. I can imagine this being somewhat expanded by making the hand into a tentacle to allow for bigger levels, though I don't know if it's worth it lol. It's just a simple dumb idea done really well. Nothing much to say.

@catusfelony thank you a lot!
@rusty2117 I don't know how to say this but... Check the leaderboard, they steal your position... What's worse, I was robbed of the first place! :scream:
@skel3ton It is normal to think of Candy Crush because it is the current reference, maybe it's time to snatch the throne! :muscle:
@khaotom Thank you for playing! But the leaderboard doesn't say your name at the top... :rolling_eyes:
@jamesw Maybe you need to train your finger, be determined! the first heart candy it's taked by @kanity , but the second in the can can be yours! :heartpulse:
@jammygunns If we have managed to make you want to return to the game we had time to develop in a Game Jam, we are satisfied! It's the best feedback we could hope for, thank you very much! :smile:
@schadocalex like the previous feedback... you have played A LOT, it's the best feedback we could have, to the point of perfecting your technique a lot, you really deserve the crown, but don't be confident, I can still try to take it away from you! But at this moment it's yours! :crown:
@picross I wasted a lot of time balancing the can and the most I was able to accomplish in this version was to throw a couple of candies at the cost of almost all the playing time. Good try! The others don't seem to have tried, I'm glad I spent time balancing that possibility. Thank you for playing and testing! :smiley:
@clema Thank you for play our game! We are so glad when you say that! :smiley:
@nyxkn Thank you very much, I personally wasted most of the Jam time adjusting the finger physics. We had planned to add more levels with different containers but we didn't have time and we prefer to have a well closed game to more incomplete levels with more bugs... Maybe in the future we will expand the game given the positivity received in our game, who knows!
@dxk2294 Indeed it was risky, the web version was broken as you can see in the first comments so we disabled it to play the best possible version, which is the downloaded version, finally it was worth it, it seems to have liked the game a lot and that is what we are most happy. Thank you for playing! :video_game:
@fupi OMG, thank you for your fanart! And yes, it's really dumb idea, when we decided it i was not secure about it but finally we love our work result too! About extra ideas, can be really interesting the octopus version of it! Thank you again for playing and drawing it! Take a special candy for you! :lollipop:
Candies for all feedback!!! :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy: :candy:
Fast and efficient. Beautiful graphics and pleasant sound. Very good topic and used. Very interesting. No criticism.
What a submission! Incredibly polished and equal parts fun and frustrating! Those hi scores are ridiculous! The absolute only thing I wish was different was that the game window was bigger because I'm constantly moving my mouse off the game window and losing control over the hand. This leaves you a pretty small area to manipulate the hand in the bottom right of the screen when digging. Other than that it was the complete package! Great job :)
@pen-island-games You can take that as a limited space as well :spy: haha!
Hey, Iām the host of the Ludum Dare score chasers tournament for this jam
Wanted to ask for score chasers if you were fine with me playing some gameplay of your game in the background in the waiting period / intermission. In the waiting period its going to cycle between gameplay of a bunch of different games in the background (with music from games in the jam playing as well)
@lincolnsalles thank you so much! :smile:
@pen-island-games Thank you! Yes, the high scores are really hard to beat! The screen area is because we were thinking of a web version, and if we resize it now... It's better to consider @denzel reply; it's more amusing! :laughing:
@ategon Of course! We are so glad if you play our game! But... Like I said in the previous comment... It's hard to beat! You will face a real challenge! :smirk:
Take your candies! :candy: :candy: :candy:
Love the idea and neat stylish art :) How painful it was when finger kept getting stuck at the exit :joy:
Very fun idea with pretty whacky GodotPhysics :smile:
Fun, good art, very good art ! Good job :) and very good music
Good polish and good physics ! GG team
Silly in a sweet way :grin: The graphics are very nice, and the music is fitting. Perfect mood for a tiny candy heist! The game plays well, and the wonky physics add to the charm. It's a small but well-polished experience.
I had only one issue. By the description, I expected our Candy Connoisseur to be a child. So I experienced discrepancy between expectations and the hand I saw before me :grin:
Very interesting game. The flow of the game is enjoyable.good job!
Very interesting and beautiful game, nice to play
