LD42 — Running out of space

Land defender by kpded 2018-08-13T09:03:01Z

Great visuals, enjoyable strategy game. It would be nice if there was more of a tie-in to the theme. Maybe you have options to upgrade tiles that are under your control, or once you lose a tile, it's gone for good. Still, really fun!

Populists Land Use Simulator by JulianMH 2018-08-24T02:14:32Z

This is really awesome! It was pretty hectic at first, but gameplay meshes perfectly with the theme. Great graphics and sound as well!

grOw by Sokuaisushi 2018-08-13T06:56:11Z

Really awesome aesthetic! Short game, but it was a great take on the theme.

Space Jack by neurobomber 2018-08-13T07:12:23Z

Really fun and hectic, I definitely felt like I was running out of space!

Space Debris by Mallapa 2018-08-13T06:49:10Z

Awesome job submitting your first game! Pretty fun! I've noticed projectiles can get stuck at times.

Party Simulator by KotoriYousan 2018-08-13T07:01:23Z

Great art style and humor!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

A Journey of Sacrifice by MediocreMonty 2022-04-07T05:04:19Z

Agreed with everyone else, really great artstyle and mood! I hit the same bug as @nafe and my game ended up crashing with my boat bobbing up and down and a horrific audio loop bug. I had great fun though

LD44 — Your life is currency

The Battle for Slime King on Slime Mountain by MrTroy 2019-04-30T02:32:48Z

Really awesome! Great visuals and sounds, and some great replay value too!

Double Deal by PowerSpark 2019-05-03T03:17:03Z

I love it! This is my kind of game, and really fits the theme. Some of the sound effects are a bit too loud - they were painful to hear at high volume on my machine. But I had tons of fun!

Sofa Kingdom: Change of Thrones by LandoSystems 2019-04-30T02:50:49Z

Amazing charm! The entire aesthetic is first class, really great job! Like Torculus said, I don't really understand the health mechanic, or what I'm supposed to do with coin drops.

The Necromancer Saga: Endless Dungeons by frankitox16 2019-04-30T03:05:21Z

Love the concept! The camera angle is a wee bit awkward, and it's a little too dark, but I had fun amassing a skeleton army.

Zugzwang by riv-roy 2019-05-01T01:45:43Z

I wish there was some AI to play against, but I really dig the concept! Loved the unique pieces and how there were tough decisions to make for every move.

Wild Card Necromancer by JOrbits 2019-05-04T09:00:40Z

I loved it! Tons of fun amassing a giant army. I only have one complaint - I had an painful time trying to adjust to the controls :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: they're basically the exact opposite of RTS controls, so I frequently found myself misclicking.

Island Chain by PTSnoop 2019-05-18T21:16:11Z

Love the idea! I don't understand how to stop hyper inflation from happening :P

2nd Bank by bitdecay 2019-05-03T03:02:01Z

Very charming game, I really adore the atmosphere and mood! Reminds me of an unbeat Sims-esque game from the 90s. Only one real grip - controlling a character from an isometric perspective with WASD is a unwieldy, I found myself constantly messing up the direction I moved the character in.

Mycelium Man by ragtagradical 2019-04-30T02:28:17Z

Great visuals! A bit too difficult right at the beginning, though.

Mr. Money’s Extra-Ordinary Money Factory Blitz by aevek 2019-04-30T02:24:08Z

Really cool game! Loved the graphics - and the idea of a 3D incremental game. I wish the camera controllers were a bit better through, it feels really weird to control.

Fate of the blood mercenary by IchbinkeinReh90 2019-05-04T07:47:54Z

Really polished character controller, it felt very satisfying to dash around! I liked the mood as well. I wish there was a bit more to the attacks, though.

Life's a Dish by dxk2294 2019-05-03T03:04:43Z

@polyhatsteve Thank you for your feedback! Yeah, we hacked together a camera/navigation system at the very last minute, that's one of our biggest regrets. As for the coin lag, I would definitely recommend using the Windows/macOS binary - WebGL does not seem to perform very well.

Life's a Dish by dxk2294 2019-05-03T03:05:44Z

Thank you for your feedback, everyone! We all read it and greatly appreciate it.

BloodBath by Tiberiusuciu 2019-05-04T07:43:50Z

Loved it! Amazing tie-in to the theme, and really satisfying to pull of a big explode-transfusion combo.

Enemy Of The State by Darylsteak 2019-05-04T07:31:14Z

Lots of fun, and it felt really good to play! Performance got pretty bad by the end of the level, though.

Bank Burner by repine 2019-05-04T07:26:43Z

This was amazing! Really polished, tons of fun, and fits the theme well. Awesome job!

PizzoTyping by Carpin 2019-04-30T03:08:50Z

I love this one! Really charming game, and an interesting (but strong!) take on the theme.

Noobmancer by IanLux 2019-04-30T02:39:22Z

Tons of fun! Really polished gameplay. Would highly recommend this to any passerby's, despite the large download size. One note: it turns on SteamVR but does not require it, and when I turned off SteamVR, the game closed.

BankRoll by Kharibidus 2019-05-03T02:18:28Z

Love the idea! I think the controls are a bit too floaty for my taste, I couldn't really get a good feel for the small coin.

Mercenary Management Simulator 2020 by Marcus Dubreuil 2019-04-30T02:46:10Z

Interesting combat mechanic, and really impressive to see the AI navigate the field. I wish there was some sound, but overall really solid!

MeatScape by Lvl99Chicken 2019-04-30T02:59:04Z

Absolutely disgusting :stuck_out_tongue: The weird warp effect on the meat is great! I don't really understand how to get more meat though.

Heart Sacrifice by Predrag 2019-04-30T02:59:31Z

Link doesn't seem to work :(

LD45 — Start with nothing

Commander by Wekaj 2019-10-15T06:35:06Z

Loved it! This was one of the best games I've played so far. It was a really polished experience, and super satisfying to play. I agree with the megasquad point @dob brought up, but still stuck to a splitting it up because controlling the squads was so much fun.

Begging Simulator 2019 by lekiy 2019-10-09T05:32:03Z

It was difficult to get used to 'X' as the interact key, but I love the aesthetic and it ties in well with the theme. Nice job!

Orudo Taima by thomas-olsson 2019-10-09T08:12:23Z

Wow, what a game! This is definitely a highlight of LD45  Wonderful graphics, audio, extremely polished, solid gamefeel, and a clearly designed flow from start to finish. Simply amazing!

My only complaint is to echo what @yazara and @dodelov said, with the arrow keys and WASD have inconsistent behavior and the space bar being attack.

From Nothing to Mine by DeathStorm 2019-10-15T07:37:06Z

Wow! This is awesome! It was pretty challenging, and the start was a bit too slow, but this was a very ambitious game with a lot of depth given the time constraints. Great job, I love these types of games.

LD45_PickUpTheSword by NickyKendy 2019-10-09T07:20:13Z

Unfortunately I can't access the link. Did you make sure to make the game public?

Ship It by dxk2294 2019-10-09T05:16:10Z

Thanks for the kind words! We've updated the description with more of an explanation as to how the game works.

Wicked Wanderings by Trifectuh 2019-10-10T05:44:17Z

Great fun, though the controls were a bit tough to come to grips with. I loved the depth of the crafting, this is a fantastic entry!

Draft & Doodle by DrEvilBrain 2019-10-15T06:42:54Z

Nice idea! Encouraged me to break out the old art supplies I had that were gathering dust. Loved the wide array of "challenges"!

Revolutionaries and Pixels by Hare Software 2019-10-09T07:18:55Z

This was fantastic! I had a ton of fun with this one, the fights were satisfying, there was a decent amount of depth to the combat, and it was really enjoyable to take on larger enemy forces. Great job!

Tiny Reactor by coffeecup.winner 2019-10-09T04:38:57Z

Awesome game! Really interesting mechanic that encourages thought and experimentation, great job!

Humanly Optimized by Doc_Moustache 2019-10-09T06:40:55Z

Agree @chaosed0, daring choice to go for a story in a LD game! I struggled a lot with the controls, it took me a while to get past the first level (I actually got stuck a few times), but it was smooth sailing after I figured out the "technique". Great job

The path of Fireflies by Omickron 2019-10-09T08:45:51Z

I loved the aesthetic! I had a really hard time dealing with the enemies though, the spider and bat were black and sort of appeared out of nowhere, so it was almost impossible to recognize and respond to them quickly enough. Beautiful game!

More Decor by mapleglaze 2019-10-09T06:44:22Z

Fun! Simple puzzle that's easy to understand, but challenging!

Buggert by wheelsx 2019-10-09T07:26:06Z

Wow, this was ambitious for an LD game! Loved the atmosphere, but the camera controls were a bit painful for me, as I never use an inverted Y-axis. It also took a very long time to get anywhere, and I felt like there shouldn't have been an energy cost associated with sprinting. Once I got access to the jetpack, the world opened up a ton and I had a lot of fun exploring. The combat was difficult, though!

Grow Your Own Way by Shunt 2019-10-09T06:31:18Z

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to plant crops, but it looks great!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Promethean Legacy: Fan the Flames by quill18 2020-04-21T09:28:52Z

Great, really fun game! I felt a bit overwhelmed by the tutorial screens, but after a couple of turns I fully understood what was going on. This is one of the most fun LD games I've played, I love that there's a lot of genuine strategy and decision making

Nightwatch by Neon 2020-05-11T01:39:06Z

Beautiful game, and amazing atmosphere! I wish there was some indicator to the player that it's safe to leave the campfire for extended periods of time, because I kept rushing back after a bit to feed the fire, and it cut my exploration short. Still, a wonderful entry!

Dorfromantik by yazara 2020-04-21T09:20:42Z

Wow! Phenomenally gorgeous, reminds me of Carcassonne. I had some issues with my ultrawide monitor, I couldn't see the quests at the top of the screen. Even still, I had lots of fun just placing tiles and building out my little city. Great game!

Prototype Towers by marbles 2020-04-21T06:32:35Z

Is there a mac download? The description says there should be one, but I can't seem to find one on itchio :frowning2:

Overstock! by Random-storykeeper 2020-04-21T05:38:27Z

Love the art! I also like the mechanic of needing to get near the customers to clean the dirt, but not so close you'll scare them away.

Blood Oath by alexhonor 2020-04-24T08:52:41Z

Loved the art and the sound design, great mood! A bit too short, I would have loved to see a couple more levels. I had to play the WebGL version and hit some suttering issues when attacking, but nothing too severe. Great entry!

Last journey in the sand by squirrelsoft 2020-05-11T01:25:26Z

Very interesting game! I would have increased the ambient lighting a bit, the harsh black shadows made the game feel a bit too drab. I also think the AI should have taken their turns much quicker, but a nice start!

Shooty Moony by flyingbear 2020-05-09T09:26:32Z

A very slow start, but shockingly addictive. I was a bit confused at first, as you can only spend money once you lose. I enjoyed how placement was encouraged via the 3x multiplier. I think this is the most time I've spent in an LDjam game! Great job

Egg Mama by Enver Arco 2020-04-21T07:01:37Z

Really loving the atmosphere in this. I never felt so at peace! I could poo on foxes and protect my little chicks forever

Supernova by dxk2294 2020-04-22T09:39:13Z

Thank you all for the kind words, we read and appreciate every comment!!!

@nuclear Haha thanks, glad we could instill the panic we were going for!

@croze Thank you for the detailed writeup  Starting conditions are semi-randomized (within rather tight bounds), as are anomalies, so it's possible you got really favorable starting conditions  Life support is rather forgiving, you don't need to keep all machines running at optimal efficiency to stay alive. But rest assured, it is possible to lose from not maintaining your life support!

@leniwabula Nice idea! We had hoped to get some sort of "matter exchanger" for the ship where you could trade in several components (possibly broken) to get one component of your choosing, but unfortunately we had to cut it due to time constraints.

Soaring by Talops 2020-04-24T05:14:32Z

I really like the environment and music, the game has a really great mood! I agree with @blushine, the flight controls were really difficult to grasp with a mouse maybe it would feel better with a flightstick :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope by Darylsteak 2020-04-22T09:17:26Z

Amazing graphics, sound, and mood. The zombie manipulation was a really clever mechanic, but I have to echo many of the other commenter's sentiments that the ladders were really fiddly (and at times, quite frustrating). Still, excellent game, one of the best!

Leap Of Faith by ryan123rudder 2020-04-21T05:46:16Z

Love the art style! My only complaint is that I feel it takes a little too long for the fish to come to rest and give control back to the player. Very relaxing experience!

The Shopkeeper by Azathothep 2020-05-09T08:48:36Z

Cool concept! I like the atmosphere, but I think the UI could use some work. The text was too small for items in the shop, and it was difficult to read requests from adventurers because of the chromatic aberation.

Lone Settler by Poupi 2020-05-09T07:42:39Z

Wonderful graphics, atmosphere, and gameplay. It's a bit challenging, I think in part due to the unusual keyboard controls. I had a ton of fun, but I'd definitely recommend using more conventional keyboard+mouse controls in the future!

Keep What Alive by Valeth2124 2020-05-12T06:07:02Z

Wow - what a crazy ambitious game for a LD submission! I loved the art style and the music, and you folks established the mood perfectly (though I gotta admit, a game about a pandemic during a pandemic is a little too depressing for my taste). I echo many of the previous commenters, that the amount of content here is admirable. My biggest complaints are that I feel the walk speed is way too slow, and the player is left with very little direction at the beginning. Still, it was a ton of fun to explore and see where the story went. Awesome job!

Vivere Computatrum by Will F 2020-04-21T06:17:11Z

I enjoyed watching the monks do their thing, and this is kind of game is right up my alley! However, I had a hard time figuring out what to do and I couldn't ever get my monks to run on the bikes to charge the batteries no matter what I did. Some tooltips to explain the conditions for monks to use a building would be great!

Simple life and zombies by Niezoor 2020-04-22T08:33:04Z

Cute game! I liked the character customization, and the house design. I feel like there should be more active decision making for the player, though

Last keeper by Tatyana 2020-04-21T06:01:22Z

Love it! My favorite mini-game was the two pillars you had to control with your left/right mouse. Really messed with my brain. Great art as well

Earth Last Defender by Linx 2020-04-22T09:23:37Z

Nice game! got a score of 2000. I found the audio to be a bit much when you got a lot of upgrades, and it was frustrating that enemies could spawn in and fire off a shit before you had any chance of responding to them. More unique upgrade types would help a lot as well, but still a really fun game!

My Mother is a Caravan? by Gideonnf 2020-04-21T05:56:00Z

Wonderful art, and a crazy amount of content for 72 hours! The game was challenging, and the combat was satisfying and visceral. I had a few issues (for some reason I had a hard time actually hitting the ranged acid spitting monster, or there was no visual feedback; and fullscreen mode cut off the top of the UI), but really awesome stuff!

Tile Rider! by VernalBehemoth 2020-04-24T05:03:24Z

Gorgeous game, and I really like the concept! I personally had a lot of trouble with the camera though, I found that swinging the world so your character is always facing north was pretty nauseating for me. I also agree with the other commenters, that more attack-feedback would have gone a long way. But if you do decide to continue this, I know I'd love to see where it goes next!

Tear the damn tree down by Glox 2020-04-22T08:41:08Z

Beautiful graphics (especially enjoyed the blood effect), I loved how the lumberjacks encroached on your forest and built new buildings, it really made you feel like you were losing control. I never figured out the point of planting, and I agree with @jimmothysanchez that I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the controls at the very being. Still, great game!

Goat Sacrifice by Frankie Hobbins 2020-04-21T07:07:21Z

Amazing art style - I loved the atmosphere! It's a simple game that feels really polished and accomplished what it set out to do. I found that knocking into the goat with my own sub was a great strategy for dodging. Great job!

Forest Frenzy by Catomag 2020-04-21T06:25:03Z

:slight_frown: Unfortunately I can't seem to run it on my mac, I get the following error:

zsh: exec format error: /Users/***/Downloads/ForestFrenzy/ludem-dare-4

Survivalgo by despdair2 2020-04-22T08:52:59Z

Nice aesthetic! I felt the isometric perspective added an additional layer of complexity that just interfered with the main focus of the game, which is the algorithm. I found myself thinking more about the isometric controls rather than solving the puzzle. I was also quite confused by the fact that you could modify an algorithm and resume it from where you left off, I keep resetting my progress to make changes. I only found out you could make changes to your algorithm by reading the comments.

Still, I think this is a really promising start! I love the idea of game-ifying education, especially programming. Definitely worth continuing!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Woofice Chair! by JorgeGameDev 2020-10-09T03:13:15Z

Fun game! Lovely visuals, Carl is best dog. I kept playing until my arm didn't let me anymore - I think having to push space as often as you do is pretty tiring, but I understand that's a core mechanic of the game. Still, great job, really fun!

TANKNAT by icxon 2020-10-09T08:47:38Z

This was a really, really interesting take on the theme! This is definitely one of my favorite games so far. Simple one-screen concept at its core, but the idea is really clever and the execution is phenomenal. I particularly enjoyed the "plinky" sound effects. Great job!

a nice place by netmute 2020-10-10T03:13:00Z

That was a really lovely experience  Great job!

Circuit City by firellon 2020-10-06T09:25:17Z

This is my kind of game! I love the concept, it's a really unique idea and lots of fun. I think the game would benefit from 2x/3x speedup, along with the ability to queue up roads/buildings along unfinished roads.

Loop Line! by Sacer 2020-10-09T07:01:23Z

This was a lot of fun! Reminds me of those old children's playmats. I feel like the trains maybe go a liiiitttle too fast, and the inconsistent speed was a bit nauseating. Still, I had a great time

Free The Rollies! by gamesplusjames 2020-10-05T23:42:08Z

Wow, I really loved this. This has the look and feel of a polished commcerical game. I love the art, the atmosophere, the music, and the gameplay is really clever. Great job!

Orbital Rescue by ZebraInFlames 2020-10-11T08:40:17Z

This was a lot of fun! Pretty challenging at times, but I don't think any of the levels were unfair. I agree that some music would have really helped with the mood, but I still had a great time

Crypt Loop by Los 2020-10-08T10:44:15Z

This was a really clever puzzle game! The art's really crisp - and shows you exactly the info you need without overcomplicating anything. I'm personally not great at puzzle games, and ones like this hurt my brain, but I still had a lot of fun  Great job!

Roller Riches by dxk2294 2020-10-06T09:27:34Z

Thanks for the feedback and kind words everyone!

@mrwahloh Totally agree with you on the sound effects - I was imagining RCT sounds the entire time we were developing this.

Roller Riches by dxk2294 2020-10-08T10:32:56Z

Thanks everyone for your valuable feedback, we really appreciate your kind words and time spent playing our game !

Based on your feedback, and for my own personal enjoyment, I've added some sound effects to the game. In the interest of transparency, and since I can't upload multiple versions of the WebGL player, I've added a very clear warning that you should not play with sound effects if you are judging for LD47.

ludum factorum by AMastryukov 2020-10-07T09:21:34Z

This is fantastic! I don't know if it's just because it's 2am, but this was pretty challenging for me  I loved the music, the background art was especially fantastic, and the minigames were all great fun. Good job!

LO2OP by MrWahloh 2020-10-07T03:24:28Z

This was a really clever idea, nice take on the theme! The art was fantastic, like @bradur said performance on the web player was a little rough but still very fun

Saisons by Gaming Night 2020-10-17T21:52:07Z

This was a really magical experience - one of my favorite entries of this jam. Outstanding atmosphere and visuals, and a wonderful mood, even if the ending was a bit predictable. Fantastic job!

Phil Alone by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2020-10-07T10:31:04Z

Great job, I love the multiple endings!

Hang on, Bill! by zanzavar 2020-10-08T11:40:31Z

This was really clever! Great mood, funny interactions, wonderful art, fantastic job!

ME! vs the unrelenting alien invasion by Human Writes Code 2020-10-06T07:47:18Z

Wow, this felt really polished. I love the sounds, the music, the opening tutorial, and of course the gameplay. It had a real "juicy" feel to it!

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-11T10:22:44Z

Haha this was pretty great. I love me some incremental games, and this was definitely a fantastic take on the genre. Great humor, satisfying progression, good job!!

Directive 399WH by ygrichman 2020-10-12T01:41:43Z

Ayy I got the engine core to overload. Good writing, I liked the ship design, and there was an expected bonus minigame. Nice job, I had fun!

Circleline by caeonosphere 2020-10-08T11:13:41Z

Wow, you really achieved an amazingly polished aesthetic with very simple building blocks. The puzzles were also really clever, and I loved how you introduced the mechanics to the player. Really great job!

Anne's Topological Adventure by schsam 2020-10-08T11:23:50Z

Great puzzle game! It kind of broke my brain a bit at the beginning, but as I played more and more I began to better understand how to approach the puzzles. Lots of content, tons of fun, nice job!

Ebontale by JUSTCAMH 2020-10-08T05:09:12Z

Unfortunately this is unplayable on an ultrawide monitor, and there doesn't seem to be a way to configure the resolution. The dialog gets mostly cut off at the bottom of the screen :frowning: That's a shame, this looked like a really interesting game, I loved the music and art!

Ebontale by JUSTCAMH 2020-10-08T21:04:55Z

@justcamh Awesome, thank you! I'll give it a go tonight

Ebontale by JUSTCAMH 2020-10-09T03:48:49Z

Haha that was amazing, what a clever application of the theme! Won't go into spoilers, but this is definitely one of my favorite games this jam. Fantastic job!

Virtual Chicken Staring Contest by TheLonewolf 2020-10-07T08:57:23Z

Those eyes... I'll never forget those eyes. They stared into my very soul...

Choo Choo Loop by thunderkerrigan 2020-10-06T09:39:24Z

I really liked the art, the panic-inducing music, and the overall polish to the experience  But I gotta be honest... I don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing! How do I make the trains loop?

Dig Down by Dampfwaltze 2020-10-06T06:40:39Z

I like the idea! I had fun once I figured out what was going on - it took me a while to realize I had to find a pickaxe at the beginning. I almost quit because I thought the game was broken

Wall-A Project by Martin.Delemotte 2020-10-06T09:13:07Z

Agree with @ismailtemirci, the art style is fantastic! Cute and fun game  The controls were actually pretty uncomfortable as a QWERTY user, so it would be nice to be able to rebind them.

A Loop to Save The World by Crazybot 2020-10-11T08:07:21Z

This was really good, and really ambitious for a 3 day project! Great job putting all this together yourself in such a short time. I enjoyed the puzzles, and the rewind effect was really nice, I wonder how you acheived it  Great job!

Looping Meadows by Kirbloid 2020-10-09T08:58:11Z

Great execution of the theme! Very "incremental-esqeue". I only had sound coming out of the left side of my headphones, which was a bit annoying, but didn't detract from the experience too much. I really like the idea of building up the board over time, great job!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-17T20:55:08Z

This was really fun! I would have liked to see unique animations as your speed increased rather than just speeding up the animation, and new upgrades that unlock over time. Still, great job!

Featherfall by armytag 2020-10-07T04:08:57Z

I loved it  Simple, calming platformer. I think it could have used some nice ambient sound effects, like wind/birds chirping on the surface, to really tie the whole thing together.

Driven Round the Loop by JoeShanahan 2020-10-06T06:47:05Z

Great game! I'm normally not a big fan of puzzle-ish games, but this one kept me hooked for a while. I really dug the art style and mood, plus the UI look fantastic

Delivery Boy Forever by civmaniac 2020-10-07T01:40:42Z

That was great! The music really helped to set the mood, and the story kept me interested the whole way through. Also loved the addition of Scruffy  The ending felt a bit abrupt, but still, great job!

Group Chat by Meatball 2020-10-07T03:20:07Z

I have no idea what's happening but this changed me at a deep spiritual level

Age of Amperes by JHax 2020-10-12T04:28:06Z

This was great! But boy was it difficult  It was a great implementation of the theme, and a really clever conversion from circuits to gameplay. Great job!

Dinosaur Game Level 1 by JDcierski 2020-10-12T01:24:58Z

This is great! I played it all the way through (I hope?). I think this might be one of my favorites this jam  There were some really clever changes to the level. My only gripe is that the platforming mechanics felt a bit too floaty for my liking

Epsilon - 2D Atmospheric Platformer by Sherwin Claridge 2020-10-09T07:57:29Z

That was a really beautiful game with a fantastic mood, the artsyle really drew me in! I loved the ending as well. I have a couple criticisms: - The jumping/climbing mechanic felt pretty finicky and unreliable - I feel like the opening sequence didn't really respect the players time - walking that slow for that long as probably a bit too much

Still, great job!

Life is Loop by frances 2020-10-08T05:29:19Z

Interesting take on an incremental game! I really liked how the new resources were fed by a chain of the previous resources. Nice job!

My Summer Roller Coaster by Patsui 2020-10-07T10:04:17Z

Haha this was hilarious, and great fun. I'm surprised by how much you managed to get done in such a short time!

Never End by Finn_Tr 2020-10-11T07:57:03Z

That was a really beautiful experience  Unfortunately it was too difficult for me, I couldn't get past the first key room, so I don't know how much content there is after it. I think a big part of the difficulty was that you can't jump with Up Arrow, and I kept finding myself getting cross-controlled.

Difficulty aside, the game was really a beautiful and enjoyable experience, with a really strong mood. Great job!

Lunar Loop by Tom Stephenson 2020-10-08T00:21:24Z

I survived! I would have liked maybe 1 more system to manage, but I really enjoyed my time  I think it was pretty well balanced, water felt really scarce in the last few days. The art was fantastic, especially the animation of the player character. Great job!

Frying Donut by fachscahfttf 2020-10-07T03:33:10Z

Oh my goodness, this overwhelmed all of my senses, but in a good way

Say When, an Unlimited Soup Experience by DWink 2020-10-07T03:28:58Z

Haha very interesting take on the theme, it was super short but I enjoyed my time with it

Project L.O.O.P by PeteH 2020-10-09T07:21:36Z

That was great! I think the footsteps were a bit much, I think they could have been slowed down and made quieter. The effect when you lose actually startled me, but it was really neat! I love how much content there was, and how each room really felt unique. The map helped a ton. Great job!

TowerStuck by Edeneden 2020-10-06T04:06:15Z

Cool tower defense game! Echoing early feedback, I think the crossbows had some suspect aim. Fun though

Just Another Day by Chaoseiro 2020-10-07T08:21:50Z

Lots of fun! Really enjoyed the sound effects, and the house was just nice to explore and walk around in. You've noted some bugs on your itch.io page, and I definitely seemed to hit most of them, but still, I really enjoyed it!

TimeHop by Isha 2020-10-12T08:16:09Z

This was a really lovely experience! The different types of resources playing into eachother was a really interesting mechanic, great job!

Blobs by GameFriend 2020-10-08T04:08:40Z

Oh man, I played for a while and never noticed that E did something  Fun game though, reminds me of an incremental. I felt the beginning was a bit _too_ frustrating. Good job!

Best Before 90 Seconds by Demetri 2020-10-07T05:48:18Z

This looks like an incremental game, which I'm a huge fan of - but I'm not sure that the executable uploaded on itchio is working? All of the buttons just say "MILK COW" and don't do anything - then the game ends pretty quickly and the "once more into the breach" button doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: Okay v1.2 was broken, but 1.0 seems to work

Loop by Str0nkyK0ng 2020-10-06T04:30:25Z

Really funny game! I'm not sure if I experienced all there is, but I looped for about 10 minutes. Great job!

Press The Button by Steventus 2020-10-07T03:55:02Z

Haha numbers go brr

This was great! Excellent mood, it really made you feel stuck in a loop. The art style was perfect, and it + the constant "encouragement" feels like you were just stuck in this dreadful corporate machine.

DejaVu by StuxGeek 2020-10-08T04:27:57Z

Gorgeous game! I think some basic sounds would have really improved the experience, but it was great fun without it. I agree with other commenters - I think sending you back to the beginning of the game if you fail was needlessly punishing and frustrating. Still, great job

LooperJumper by kidbiti 2020-10-07T08:02:39Z

Very challenging! I agree with @vem, it was challenging to the point of frustration - I think slowing down the teleporter would have gone a long way.

Outside The Loop by Peace Of Cake Games 2020-10-12T01:15:22Z

Good job! Played through to the end screen, after entering the big green loop. This was pretty interesting, I like how you could create your own platforms by throwing out loops.

LoopingAges - LD47 by MorpheusZero 2020-10-09T06:49:33Z

Love to see incremental games in LD, I had fun with this game!

I feel like there's a bit too much clicking, it'd be worth toning down the need for it faster. I also think some age-specific resources/upgrades would have been really interesting, the lonely thoughts are nice but don't meaningfully contribute to the gameplay. Nice job!

Stuck in a Timeloop by Stefan B. 2020-10-09T08:40:39Z

That was great! Simple, but the level design and core mechanic really help to make this a really fun experience. Nice artystle as well!

Mike.cpp by shan.hsgames 2020-10-07T10:42:17Z

Cool and unique visuals, interesting puzzles. Great job!

One issue, at least on WebGL - performance took a _huge_ hit when I went fullscreen, it was almost unplayable.

Express Without Remorse by alpacalypse 2020-10-12T01:27:42Z

This was very good - thought a bit confusing at the start. I'm surprised by how much content there was, and the atmosphere was really well put together. Great job!

Stuck In a Hoard (While Looping) by WitekWitek 2020-10-17T20:35:54Z

This was really nice! I could only make it to around 50s before I was overwhelmed by the purple balls, but still had a fun time. I liked how you made really good use of simple shapes and colors to make enemy types easily identifiable. Great job!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep-fry Deeper by Ithildin 2021-05-01T09:01:22Z

This was a very cute, quick game! I spent some time trying to get a perfect (at least as perfect as I could get it) score. My only complaint is that I wish there was a way to turn off tutorials, to speed up runs. Nice job!

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-05-01T08:37:13Z

Wow, what a masterpiece for a LD submission! An absolutely polished and enjoyable experience from start to end - if only there were sound, but it's clear you spent that valuable time polishing up everything else. Great job!

Ore Hoarder by Justin_C 2021-04-27T21:27:08Z

I love it! Reminds me of Motherload, one of my old favorites. It would be great if you could provide a WebGl version, so more people could play it, though I don't know how hard that is to do with Game Maker Studio 2.

depthscraper by lexi 2021-04-27T21:17:14Z

Very interesting and unique take on a puzzle game. Lots of fun to play and to try and get a higher score. Great job!

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-27T06:43:10Z

Wonderful graphics, and really clever game mechanics! It has a lot of the little things you would expect from a well-polished and finished game. It's a little too difficult for me, but I enjoy my time with it. Great job!

Rooted by Webox 2021-04-28T05:08:37Z

Very interesting take on combining resource mining + puzzle, I had a lot of fun with it. A couple of nitpicks though:

- The font was pretty difficult to read, itlo okedl ike textwa soddl yspaced  - The buttons that required you to click on them did not clearly indicate that they were buttons, I was stuck at the intro screen for a bit trying to figure out how to progress by mashing the keyboard.

Still, great job!

Oiligarch by dxk2294 2021-04-27T10:05:55Z

Thank you for the very kind words and helpful feedback everyone!

We read you loud and clear about the information dump at the beginning of the game. I personally dislike tutorials that do that, but unfortunately due to time constraints we couldn't implement a way to reveal the mechanics naturally over time, so we felt this was our best choice. Maybe we could have revealed the tutorial prompts 1-by-1, rather than dumping them all at the same time? Would love to hear your thoughts!

My Little Tree by chuckeles 2021-04-28T06:52:37Z

What a wonderfully relaxing experience. The trees you can create are absolutely beautiful. Great job!

The Spectrum Soup by SplitPainter 2021-04-27T10:01:01Z

This was a very thought provoking and eye opening experience, thank you for sharing it! It took me a moment to realize that the unlocked doors were indicated by white and locked doors were indicated by red, but once I did things went smoothly. I loved the idea of picking up ingredients tied to traits, and the ending tied it all together perfectly. Great job!

A couple technical nitpicks: - Vertical mouse sensitivity seemed lower than horizontal, which was a bit strange to get used to - Continue Dialog button should probably be something like 'F' rather than 'Enter' so you don't have to take your hand off the mouse

Magic Frontier by Firebelley 2021-04-28T08:23:07Z

What a wonderful puzzle game! Normally I'm not a big fan of puzzle games, but this one kept me hooked. I think the excellent game-feel had something to do with. Definitely one of my favorite games of LD48

Run Miner by henriquecanella 2021-04-28T09:14:27Z

Fun, simple platformer with really cute pixel art. I felt like the gravity was a bit too intense (or the jump was a bit too weak) and the short music loop drove me crazy, but I still had a fun time

Blue Eye - Salvage & Rescue by PurpledArtFrog 2021-04-27T09:35:47Z

Wonderful atmosphere, I love these kinds of games. Very relaxing and moody thanks to the wonderful sound effects. I agree with the other commenters, I was confused as to whether I was supposed to avoid the fish, but once I figured it out I had a great time! Nice job

Bumpy Drilly by Paul-Maxime 2021-04-28T08:10:23Z

Had great fun, but I wish there was more to upgrade than just speed/light. Played all the way to the end! I lovedhow you changed up the mechanics a bit there.

Dreep - Drilling Deep by DrSomma 2021-04-28T07:11:21Z

Tons of fun, the core gameplay loop of a Motherload-style game is just so addicting  I kept digging further and further down trying to find an end - is there one!?

The Bothnia Trench by Milestone Games 2021-04-28T08:52:56Z

Aww, it ended so quickly, I was so excited to see the story continue! I'm disappointed there isn't more, but that's a sign that you made something really engaging. Great job!

The Deep North by buckmeister 2021-04-28T08:33:32Z

Lots of fun, great art and a lovely mood. I lost when a monster pushed me into the trees and I got stuck :slight_frown:

Deep Space by Cole Hutson 2021-04-28T09:48:38Z

Really fun game! I spent a while trying to get all the upgrades - but I feel like the speed upgrade is misleading and almost a death sentence/downgrade.

Deeper and Deeper by John llyod Apolo 2021-04-27T21:34:41Z

I like it! Kind of reminds me of fighting the wall of flesh in terraria. I agree with the other comments that the movement mechanics could use a little tuning, but I still had a fun time

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-04-28T06:40:14Z

What a wonderfully polished, well put together game! There's an amazing atmosphere and mood, and the artstyle is beautiful. I like how it can be started, understood, and beat within 5 minutes. Great entry!

Deepest Space by ItsIsaac 2021-04-27T09:30:03Z

Great idea using the jam as an opportunity to learn Unreal! I should do that next jam...

I like the concept of using planets as a sort of "slingshot" mechanism to go deeper into space, though I'm not sure I figured out how to do it properly. I'd also suggest trying to find a way to slim down the download size, because 500mb will probably turn a lot of people away. Still, nice job!

Dig it up, dog! by MaDuShI 2021-04-28T09:07:11Z

This is hilarious and adorable. What a fun little experience. Great job!

ROOTS by TheGreenWorm 2021-05-01T08:53:56Z

This might be my favorite submission! It's very relaxing, absolutely gorgeous, and has that "just one more round" addiction. My only complaint is that I felt like a lot of runs could just be stacked against you from the start and end very early, leading to a slow start in the beginning. I still love it though, great job!

The Tourist by Frostfall 2021-04-28T06:06:25Z

I loved the atmosophere and the visuals (though performance is pretty spotty throughout). I think you did a great job with the sound effects - and it really sold the ending. Great job!

Mystical Island by azakharov 2021-04-28T06:11:41Z

Clever idea, and a great take on the theme! I feel like there's not a ton of player agency - you click on a square and something happens to you, but you have no way of knowing the potential consequences or how to influence those consequences. I'd love to see this expanded with either more information provided to the player, or diferent things they could do to influence the outcome. Still, good job!

Asterisk by Crychair 2021-05-01T08:43:19Z

Wow, what a wonderful experience! Kudos to the voice actor for doing such a professional job. The game was beautiful, polished, and clearly well loved. I had some strange audio issues that caused the game to lag ocassionally, but aside from that it was a great time!

Johnny Dreams Bad by JacobRutter 2021-04-27T06:48:53Z

The game is really hard, but I love the idea! It was a lot of fun leading the enemies towards the light and pushing them away. Congrats on your first jam!

Rocket digger by Kaito 2021-04-28T09:01:57Z

What a clever take on the genre! I had a lot of fun exploding my way through the mine, great job

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Love Finds A Way by Dining Philosopher 2022-04-07T05:09:49Z

This is a great puzzle game. I love the art style! I had a bit of a trouble at first figuring out what was going on, but after a minute or so it started making sense. I think it would have been nice to gradually introduce more characters, going from 1 to 4 was pretty overwhelming. I also think some background music could go far.

Still, I really enjoyed my time, great job!

How it Ended by dxk2294 2022-04-04T23:12:25Z

@pennycook Should be fixed now! We're in the process of uploading.

How it Ended by dxk2294 2022-04-08T01:13:23Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone

@lighty-the-light When you pay for a project with science, you don't actually construct it, you're just unlocking it. That might be causing the confusion - it's definitely a poor UX that we would have liked to clean up !

@haayaargh Thanks for the detailed feedback! There are events that trigger based on high clean energy or high dirty energy usage (as well as other stats). For example, having a lot of clean energy spawns some purely good events. Thanks for the bug report around decommissioning buildings, we'll definitely need to fix that.

Appeasing The Board by Parker8283 2022-04-07T04:36:54Z

Fun game! Love to see another strategy sim entry. It'd be nice if the choices of one event led to future events (and if they already do, the game signaled this ).

If you try hard enough, you can win. by Rxbbie 2022-04-07T05:24:42Z

Simple, but fun! I would have loved to see more weapon or upgrade variety. I thought the game was too easy and that I could just last forever, and then suddenly at the 2 min mark an absolute horde descended on me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Great game!

Un-Rooted by Denhette 2022-04-07T04:52:18Z

This is hilarious, I love the art style and the comments made by your coworkers. Great job!

Lovers Defence by metatheria 2022-04-07T05:41:28Z

Great art, I love the aesthetic. I definitely would have preferred mouse controls, and it would be nice to have tower descriptions + costs. The character dialog was wonderful though!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Weirdo Words by SimplePotential 2022-10-08T16:07:15Z

Loved the sound effects, it was surprisingly satisfying to guess a word correctly. Well executed, nice job!

Gelato Drift by thomz12 2022-10-06T08:30:19Z

Great stuff! The game felt polished to the nth degree, with the look and feel of a released game. I think I would have enjoyed this even more with a game controller. My only complaint is that it took me a while to figure out what to do - I thought I had to pick up icecream from the start and deliver it, but I couldn't pick it up. I spent a while wandering and looking for icecream since driving by your first customer doesn't trigger anything (eventually I realized I had to _stop_ by them). Awesome work!

That Time My Dog Got Space Hiccups by nanolotl 2022-10-08T05:23:15Z

I got 8 bones, I didn't really understand how to solve the two key puzzles. I must have missed something staring me right in the face! Still, I had a great time, nice job packing all of these little puzzles in!

7 in 1 in 10 by joewan 2022-10-04T06:22:42Z

You were really ambitious going for minigames, but you pulled it off! I enjoyed the wacky theming for each minigame, taking existing concepts and making them your own. Nice job!

Night of the Spook by dxk2294 2022-10-06T08:49:16Z

Thanks for the kind words and valuable feedback everyone! There's a lot of helpful, actionable feedback here that we'd love to incorporate in a post-jam update.

Groceries Please! by natpat 2022-10-04T06:32:05Z

This had a really charming artstyle and sound design, juxtaposed with an emotional storyline. The minute to minute gameplay was satisfying without feeling overwhelmingly hectic. It's a really great entry

Spell Survivors by dnich013 2022-10-05T04:43:01Z

Looks like we had the same idea for our submissions  I really enjoyed it!

Call It A Day by Stenyin 2022-10-05T05:50:16Z

Wow, what a stunning artstyle, great sound, and charming gameplay! The character design was also adorable. Phenomenal job getting all of this done in such a short period of time. I had some issues with the WebGL version, but it ran fine as a standalone app.

Untitled Cat Game by sliphtrex 2022-10-06T02:20:27Z

Cute ending! Business cat had very important business to attend to :cat2:

The End Position by Taximan981 2022-10-08T04:09:26Z

Surprising amount of content here! Reminds me of some of those god/element games, but I loved how relaxing this is. Nice job!

Gagaku by LoicLeGrosFrere 2022-10-06T07:56:35Z

Wow, you did something really phenomenal with the theme here, I think this is the most creative interpretation I've seen so far! It does take a bit to wrap your head around the different structures, but I really like how you spend the 10 seconds prepping your one shot. Really great job

9 To 5 by AlphaBetaSoup 2022-10-04T05:55:55Z

Wow, there was a surprising amount of depth to the card mechanics! I appreciate that you can build your deck and really tweak things to your playstyle. Nice job!

Before the Tide by Becher 2022-10-05T08:22:09Z

Really clever interpretation of the theme! I was initially confused when my drawing wasn't washed away - it took a while to realize that the drawing only faded with time.

Suicidal Minions by CodeForJoyCaro 2022-10-05T05:41:43Z

Interesting take on the lemmings formula, I had a lot of fun in the early levels but felt difficult ramped up too quickly lately. Could maybe reduce the minion requirement in later stages? Nice job!

Ticktock Tactics by Cral 2022-10-08T17:12:34Z

I _really_ loved this game! Clever use of the theme to force players to make difficult choices during their turn, I'm not sure I've ever seen this mechanic used in tactics RPGs. Would love to see it expanded further in a full game! Great art and music too

Some polish feedback: - It was difficult to click buttons above units sometimes, I think they collided with rocks and debris on the map? - Some forest/battlefield ambiance could go a long way - Sound effects when clicking units - Movement sound effects beyond the clock tick

The Curse of Household Chaos by LightBoat 2022-10-06T02:42:00Z

Really loved the sound affects and general vibe of the game. I would have liked to see a bit more interactivity (animations, ability to sprint, etc...) but I had a great time. Made it to 9 spells left - great job!

Rocket Madness by Martin183 2022-10-06T08:40:15Z

Enjoyable, relaxing game! I really liked the backgrounds. I agree with @cobrajs that a large collider for the rockets would have been helpful. Also would have been nice to see an extra mechanic thrown in there to mix up the gameplay - perhaps a city that would shoot down rockets if they got too close? Still, good job!

Swamp Wizard and the Fight for Wizard Swamp by Bea 2022-10-04T05:45:24Z

Home again! Lovely artstyle and music, would have like to see more enemy variety though.

EPOCH by Wouter52 2022-10-08T16:25:45Z

I really dig the artstyle, especially the transition animation every ten seconds. You nailed the aesthetic! I also feel the theme was integrated really well. There were a couple times I got completely stuck in a small corridor that led nowhere, and I felt the "puzzles" to fix a bug where a bit too simple. Still I think the core of a really solid game is there, awesome job!

lΓ₯ndskein by Demure 2022-10-08T16:19:59Z

winner.png

I did it! I admit I didn't full understand how some pieces connected at times, and my controls occasionally got messed up (dragging the camera instead of dragging a tile), but I still had a fun time. Nice job!

Speed Dating Fantasy by ugly_robot 2022-10-06T02:37:02Z

Clever use of AI-generated art to produce enough content to fill a speed-dating sim. Nice job!

Dragua by Hawkin 2022-10-06T01:56:38Z

Love the game's mood, you really nailed it! My only real complainr is that I found myself bumping into things more than I felt I should have. I think it was a combination of colliders being a touch too large and the chest colliders not disappearing quickly enough after opening them. Still, great job!

A Quick Bunny Affair πŸ₯• by Vidu 2022-10-05T05:36:31Z

Wow, this game has some of the best visuals of any submission I've ever seen, it's absolutely gorgeous and adorable! I feel the moment to moment gameplay could have used some more variety, I eventually reached the pointed where my children overflowed and I couldn't see how many carrots they needed, and was getting tired from mashing my a and d keys. Still, great job!

Bots, Bots, Bots by Link270 2022-10-07T01:45:53Z

What a phenomenal entry! This really felt like a complete (albeit short) product. I love how you integrated every game mechanic into theme. The graphics were lovely and polished, there was a great amount of building variety, and it felt like all the pieces here fit together perfectly. My only complaints are that the tutorial dragged on a bit too long and I feel like there could be more sound effects - ambient robot noises maybe? Awesome job!

Exp10sion by lynnezzzy 2022-10-05T06:25:40Z

Nice submission! Creative use of the ghosting mechanic to incorporate the theme. I agree with other commenters that the gameplay started to get repetitive after a few stages, would have liked to see more variety to the puzzles. Still, great job!

Internal Business Struggle by SimonO 2022-10-08T05:57:35Z

I laughed, I cried, I grew to be a stronger person. A surprising amount of business was done.

A "Ding" In The Dark by yoko-san 2022-10-08T16:36:11Z

Haha I was waiting for the ball to drop and something horrifying to happen in the second half. You did a great job setting the atmosphere

Ten Secs To Pack! by SpacelionJoe 2022-10-08T17:00:28Z

Great artstyle, I was surprised by how much unique content there was to pack! And some items had nice unique behavior, like the laser-beam eye and the rope physics-enabled skeleton. Not sure if it was intentional, but many of the items spun like _wild_ when I picked them up. I think that added to the experience. Great job!

Justin Time: Man of the Hour by applecore555 2022-10-08T16:47:05Z

Wow, I really love how you integrated the theme entirely into the gameplay, this is one of my favorite applications of the theme so far. Your decision to break up the battlefield into sectors and rings was really clever, I'd love to see this idea expanded further in a complete product. Awesome work!

Timeslime by asbjorn 2022-10-06T02:12:30Z

I _really_ liked this mechanic. I agree with other commenters that it can be pretty difficult, you have to think pretty far into the future (and remember pretty far into the past) to have a chance, but I had a blast playing. Awesome work!

LD53 — Delivery

Why Deliver Y ? by Aurel300 2023-05-08T20:55:59Z

Wow, what a unique and moody game, I love it! For a dummy like me who's not too into puzzle games, this was pretty challenging, but I was just enjoying the ride. It's hard to believe you put together such a complete experience in such a short time. Fantastic job!

Trebuchet Post by zgragselus 2023-05-09T07:40:51Z

Very calming, nice visuals. The skip button was quite hard to see, and the bright white background of the first couple stages in particular were blinding. But I enjoyed my time playing the game! After a while, I started to get a hang of trebuchet. Nice job!

DElive by IcyLava 2023-05-08T21:13:16Z

This is tough! But it's got some good game-feel. I echo some other commenters that theme is a bit loose, but ah, who cares if the game is fun. Nice job!

The Clockwork Express by dxk2294 2023-05-02T03:25:41Z

@ruruie @torculus @hatheus Thanks! Yeah, we were under so much time pressure this go around we couldn't get around to tutorializing the start of the game. We'll have to update the game page to show how to play!

@torculus Haha we built a bunch of underlying systems for upgrading+expanding the train (hence why the train expands in later levels), just didn't have enough time to put together an upgrade UI :frowning2:

Beelivery by Jejkobb 2023-05-08T23:14:45Z

un-bee-lievable!

What an adorable game, with adorable art! Surprisingly challenging gameplay, but still good vibes all around.

My only complaint is that I think the default resolution on itch.io is too high - and I tend to have trouble with the built-in LD player. Since the resolution was so high, I had some perf issues on my MacBook. But still, the game itself is fantastic!

Postal Town by FreezedIce 2023-05-09T08:14:17Z

What an incredibly polished game! From the little letter opening animation, to the wonderful artstyle and aesthetic, to the satisfying plops of delivering packages and expanding the neighborhood. I loved this submission! Definitely one of my favorites. I don't even have any nitpicks, great job!

There is a monkey here! by yellow 2023-05-03T06:22:11Z

There do be monkeys sometimes...

Surprisingly difficult! I love the sound design. Nice job

Pancake Day by Martin183 2023-05-02T06:48:50Z

I love the cutesy artstyle! For some reason, I really struggled understanding what I was supposed to do at first. I didn't understand that I was supposed to drive into the buildings in the top left/top right to pick up the resources. The tutorial also took a long time to explain that, so I spent a while bouncing off the houses trying to figure out what to do. I think this may be because the score is covering up the milk building?

Anyway, after figuring out how to play, I had a fun time! The car controls are enjoyable, and I particularly like the explosion effect

Feathered Envoys by chromaticGray 2023-05-09T08:01:01Z

I just want to let my little birbs stay chilling

Very cute game, though I agree with Chado that it drags a bit at points. Could definitely use with speeding up some of the transitions between phases of days. The music, while enjoyable, did start to wear on me.

All that being said, I'm surprised by the number of systems at play here and how it all comes together to feel like a well thought out, well put together game. Great job!

Smuggling Pirates by Hoeleboele 2023-05-09T08:20:58Z

Really fun management game, like others said it reminds me of FTL in some ways. I could see this idea being expanded into an FTL-like pirate game! My biggest complaint is the UX for crew management - I wish I could drag my crew around the ship, instead of toggling through the various roles. I know the game is balanced for that, but I really struggled to internalize which roles were in which order. If I could drag pirates to parts of the ship (maybe with some travel time?), I think that would be a much more enjoyable experience.

Still, I had a great time, and I'm surprised by the detailed tutorial you folks managed to put together. Awesome job!

African Bicycle Dealer by OldDog 2023-05-02T06:59:09Z

I'm a sucker for incremental and incremental-like games, and I really enjoyed this one! I have to echo the other comments - the sound effects (particularly the looping background music) did start to wear on me near the end. But I was surprised by much the game expanded over time, and I really enjoyed the sound effects during the slow-going early stages!

King's Sandwich by HexStart 2023-05-08T22:03:57Z

What a fantastic submission! We had a similar thought of a delivering news to your king during our early ideation on Friday night, but we couldn't figure out a way to make the idea engaging and fun. But you folks nailed it perfectly! I unfortunately had bad RNG the first time I played and (as far as I could tell) was doomed to failure with nothing but bad news from the start. But after that first game, things seemed much better balanced and I had a great time playing through the acts. I really liked how all of the pieces fit well together, and it felt like the order in which you delivered the news really mattered. I hope you get a lot more ratings, you deserve it!

Fed Up Delivery by Sarah Alexa 2023-05-08T22:46:48Z

When I played the first couple of shifts, I was thinking, "Hah, this is easy!" But man, that last shift is pretty difficult. It was funny watching the trash pile up in my truck as I made deliveries - and the graphics were quite charming. Nice job!

CatCatPost by Kerioth 2023-05-08T21:56:06Z

This game is just good vibes, I had a really nice time. I wish there was a better way to tell which package is which, as I did feel things start to get a bit chaotic near the end.

Package Quest: AI Adventure by mathead 2023-05-09T08:28:42Z

Thank you for sharing the source, this is great! It's a really clever use of GPT - the gameplay naturally integrates with the AI. I found some of my package recipients to be particularly difficult to get a location out of, but hey, that's part of the fun  Nice job!

One bit of feedback - I would sometimes lose health by accidentally running into someone I couldn't even see, because they were hidden behind a building.

Stand and Deliver by rohanmoon 2023-05-08T23:42:19Z

Surprisingly funny and a good use of AI. And it was well integrated into a game that puts it all together in a nicely polished and coherent package. Well done!

Porch Pirate Panic by Stevie257 2023-05-08T23:36:27Z

Great soundtrack, I love the retro vibe of it all. It really feels like a complete little arcade game - I really enjoyed this!

Deep Sands Delivery by Rjdrag 2023-05-07T19:57:50Z

So incredibly ambitious! Crazy to think it was all completed in a weekend. This is definitely one of my favorite submissions so far, I love how many systems you put in the game. I agree with some other comments that the gameplay is a bit challenging, but I still had a great time.

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-09T07:25:48Z

Loved it - got to level 10! Really great, well put together game with a solid presentation. Couple comments:

- Level 8 was definitely unexpected - I felt it relied too much on dexterity as opposed to puzzle solving. - Music was great, but game definitely could have used more sound - On some of the longer levels, having to start all over when messing up felt needlessly punishing. Not sure if there's a way around this (resetting to the last corner?)

Still, great game!

LD54 — Limited Space

Just another random TD by LeReveur 2023-10-08T00:21:06Z

Hexagons are the bestagons.

I love me my old-school maze-building TDs. I would have liked to hear some sound effects, but had fun time nonetheless.

Towersprawl by 5Mixer 2023-10-08T08:06:10Z

Nice sim game! Couple points: - I agree with quasilyte, it'd be nice to have a more progressive construction rather than 1 block -> 1 room. - The middle mouse pan also didn't work great for me, since it also tried to scroll the page.

Warehouse Keeper by tanis 2023-10-08T07:57:30Z

Nice entry! Small bit of feedback: it would have been nice to be able to hold WASD to move continuously, rather than having to mash the keys.

The Legend of L0nk: Tears of Encumbrance by tomrijnbeek 2023-10-07T19:54:26Z

Really great! I loved the intro sequence + tutorialization. It's really nice to see when devs can sneak that in in a jam timeframe. Couple thoughts: - Text was really hard for me to read. Maybe I'm just getting old  - Would have liked the option to re-arrange, I couldn't pick up the crown :frowning2: Since it sounds like this was intended, it would be nice to have this better explained in the tutorial - More sound effects around selecting/moving items

Everything Must Go by Rohun 2023-10-06T01:27:53Z

This was a wild fever dream - took me a bit to understand what's going on in the first round, but what a goofy gem. I love the sound effects, visuals, and mini games. My only complaint is that I feel the "limited space" theming was somewhat barebones. Great job!

Warehouse 2319 by Silas Reinagel 2023-10-07T23:24:28Z

Haha this was hilarious, I agree that it reminds me of the Stanley Parable. Also reminds me of a game I made for a previous LD, _Ship It_!

I really enjoyed how the content expanded day by day - though I did struggle with the throwing mechanics at first. It was a bit too finnicky. I'm also not sure if you were _supposed_ to come in 2nd-to-last every day, but I certainly did, and that made me feel the pressure to perform for Daddy Bezos. Great submission!

Rover Under by ColeSlaughter 2023-10-07T08:09:49Z

Let's go team red!

I agree with some of the other commenters that this was a little confusing at first - especially coming at it later in the jam without any other players. Would have loved to see a little writeup explaining the game on this page. Still, nice job!

Tiny Factory by AncientEntity 2023-10-08T20:25:23Z

Oh man, this was a fun one. And the great music really helped to keep me playing  I was thrown off a couple times by having to place a conveyor belt _on_ the item source itself, but I understand why that's needed. I also would have liked a click + drag with convenience underground belt placement. But I still had a blast, great job!

Package Express by SpicyMarcus 2023-10-09T01:30:34Z

I would rather burn society to the ground than let a single one of my packages burn :imp:

High Leaf Celestial by dxk2294 2023-10-06T07:34:48Z

Thanks folks!

And a special thank you @ferellia for your extremely detailed feedback. I definitely agree with all of it. Sadly the time constraints of the jam got in the way of our dream, but we definitely wanted to have a mobile M.O.S.E., more interesting item mechanics, additional abilities for both the Elves and the enemies, and a final U.X. pass. Would love to integrate this in a post-jam polish update!

I wish LD would let us submit both Compo/Jam and Extra entries... :frowning2:

MoveMasters Limited by WilloXs 2023-10-08T01:47:23Z

I don't understand what gaming chair is :frowning:

Face the Dice by Bastienre4 2023-10-07T23:58:37Z

What a unique and interesting game! This one had me hooked for longer than expected. A few bits of feedback: - I tried playing without a tutorial first. My bad, but I felt hopelessly lost when I first played. Perhaps a sign that more feedback indicating what's going on to the player could be helpful. - When rounds are uneventful (just stars and coins), it's a bit boring to wait to watch each die be slowly counted. Perhaps that could be sped up. - I would have _loved_ some dice throwing sound effects. I think that would have kept me playing for even longer.

Still, awesome job!

Candy Catcher by HagamosVideojuegos 2023-10-08T20:06:17Z

What a nice, upbeat and charming entry! It was pretty bold to go to a physics-based game for a game jam, but you pulled it off. Wonderful artwork and music, great job!

Limited Space Moving Co by HueSamai 2023-10-08T23:19:31Z

Very vibey, I loved the music

Blob Island by Mathis BRESSAUD 2023-10-08T01:54:00Z

Cute art style, great ambiance! I feel like the blob could have moved a little fast, the game dragged a bit towards the end just having to wait for the blob to move. I was also surprised to see you could move diagonally!

Three Wizards by sg-goennung 2023-10-07T08:21:07Z

Tactical combat buddies!

Loved the intro sequence. That little bit of polish really adds a lot to an entry. The voice acting was also great - would have liked to see more sound effects, especially for movement, but I'm sure there were time constraints. Great job!

Shop Goblins by Griddolini 2023-10-07T23:41:12Z

This was hilarious! I enjoyed slowly organizing the shop as I started to get familiar with the items + shelving. I wish the customers came a little more quickly, as I often felt like I had little to do.

Noah's Ark Destroyer by TheAxe316 2023-10-08T08:09:18Z

I'm very confused  Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I wandered around the biomes for the entire first stage and didn't find any animals

Cosmic Exodus: Race Against the Void by merc37 2023-10-06T01:35:03Z

Maybe I just had an unlucky run, but it seemed like everyone was extremely hostile to me! Nice entry though, like others say it has FTL vibes.

SpaceRaft by Bytomancer 2023-10-08T00:14:06Z

Oh wow, this was incredible! Definitely among my top entries I've played so far. I love how many systems you got in place in such a short amount of time. I'm a big fan of location-based ship equipment. My only complaint is that I wish enemies couldn't attack from off-screen -- that felt a little unfair to deal with. Awesome submission!

Crow Keeper by Matthew Bond 2023-10-07T22:19:28Z

Great entry! Loved the visuals, especially for the crow! A few thoughts: - Movement was a little to slow for me. I also felt like starting/stopping should have been a bit faster. - The movement mechanics to get in/outside of the graveyard confused me at first - The background music does start to wear me down after a while. - The difficulty spike was surprising!

Bound Balance by imwonderr 2023-10-08T20:17:40Z

Love the artstyle, I found myself playing multiple rounds for longer than I expected. The sound effects and UX combine to create some great gamefeel. I'm not sure I ever fully understood what lightning does (increases resource consumption of villages? Why would I want to do that?), but I had a blast! Great submission, one of my favorites so far

weeoo.png

Tiny Town by SilverHammerMax 2023-10-06T01:47:32Z

I was very confused at first, because there's no indication of the progression of time - I thought this was turned based at first. Would be nice to have some sort of progress bar to indicate the next tick!

The King is Watching by Tvorojok 2023-10-05T07:49:02Z

Wow, this one was really great! I made it to week ~130 before losing with only 1 wave left... :frowning2:

The art style and execution was phenomenal, I really enjoyed the unique take on the theme - I did feel extremely constrained on space and like I had to consider every building placement. My only nitpick is that I would have like to see more audio. Great job!

Limited City by xCarl 2023-10-08T01:06:10Z

Fun! A bit simple, but I enjoyed my time. Echoing a previous comment: I lost the first time around because I assumed the loan would be auto-paid when it was due. I lost even though I had the required funds - the UX there could probably be polished a bit. Nice job!

DoomsdayTruck by OldDog 2023-10-07T07:40:50Z

Great job, this was a lot of fun! I spent a while playing - it's definitely engaging. A few comments:

- Would have liked to see more meaningful placement of survivors - The collision for survivor pickup did not seem to match the visuals perfectly - The "Back" vs "Proceed" button naming tripped me up a few times - A speed boost mechanic would be great!

Mitch's Budget Movers! by SephoWepho 2023-10-08T01:14:38Z

I was pretty confused at first - and I didn't really understand the trunk mechanics. I think it would have helped to start the player with a box. I didn't know what "buying a box" meant, so I wanted to avoid wasting resources at first. I also wish that the items weren't locked in once placed. Still, it was an interesting experience. Awesome work getting this all done in time!

Labyrinth by Aes1 2023-10-07T20:01:07Z

Nice entry! I got stuck a couple times in rocks when moving between rooms and had to restart:

game.png

InvenStory by pro4 2023-10-08T23:47:29Z

Beautiful artwork, I love the story-driven nature of the gameplay. I had a great time  Couple thoughts: - I would have liked to hear some more sound effects aside from the background music - Sometimes I felt the items did not follow my cursor in the way I would expect. Led to a lot of missed clicks

Compact Looter by Qaolin 2023-10-09T01:10:18Z

That was awesome! I am the ultimate cheese thief. This game is such a vibe, I love the atmosphere. I wish there was a bit more variety in the items you could steal, and I wish it was easier to lose - I intentional tried to make too much noise to see what would happen, and I had to _really_ go out of my way to make it happen. Basically only could do with the candelabra. Still, awesome submission!

Trilunaris by Rusya_Ink 2023-10-07T23:05:28Z

Now this was my kind of game! One of my favorites so far (I'm addicted to incremental games ). You got me to download Roblox + create an account just from the LD post, so kudos there. A few bits of feedback: - I would have liked some way to see my income. I know the moons where a quasi-monitoring too, but I feel like there could be a little more player feedback there. - Some interactivity between the items you placed would be nice. There were the totems+altars, but I'm envisioning something more like "bear adjacent to river = 50% bonus".

Awesome work!

Bounced by Kyleah 2023-10-08T02:00:53Z

Definitely the best looking entry I've seen so far! I can't help but wonder if there's a way to find that snack... sure sounds like a quest to me

CaveBots by quasilyte 2023-10-09T01:26:39Z

Wow, this entry was phenomenal. Definitely in my top 3 played so far. I completely lost track of time playing it, so much fun! I never won, since I never quite figured out how to make vanguards work. But I see now in the comments that they just take a while to rally around you. Might have to give it another go  Great job!

LD55 — Summoning

Sage & Summonion by JuicyBrucey 2024-04-19T05:06:09Z

Wow, that was really impressive! I had no idea what was going on at first, I missed that you had to press Tab to open your inventory. Wish that was conveyed in the game. But once I figured it out, I had a ton of fun. The gameplay felt incredibly polished - great job!

Summoner Defence Forces by Gerolmed 2024-04-20T07:20:02Z

Wow, this is one of my favorite submissions so far! I didn't understand it immediately at first, but once it clicked I had a blast. I loved the strategic decision making involved with summoning placement, and the simple (but polished) art style was excellent. Great job!

Let's Boogie by Taximan981 2024-04-20T22:20:22Z

Really good platformer, I love the unique swapping mechanic! The game felt really great to play, especially due to the high level of polish. I do think the character felt a *little* too floaty, maybe could decelerate a bit quicker. Great job!

Containment55.bin by Fionnabhair 2024-04-20T01:52:01Z

Interesting concept! One problem with creating a terminal based games for a game jam is that your audience is a bunch of developers who expect a terminal to behave a certain way - I felt hamstrung, as a lot of common functionality was missing (reverse search, up arrow, etc...). I also hit a bug after opening rome.txt where ls thought I was in / even though I was actually in /locations.

That being said, I really like the concept of a horror terminal game! I couldn't figure out how to advance after pushing three files to contain.bin, but would love to see more.

Necrohold by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2024-04-21T00:08:59Z

Beautiful visuals + art. I definitely agree with many other commenters that having to hit X on the menu was pretty frustrating and got in the way a lot. My mouse would also snap to the middle of the screen at times, not sure why. But putting those issues aside, nice entry!

Summoning for 2 by Life_Lich 2024-04-19T08:00:17Z

Took me a bit to understand what's going on - feel like the cards should have an icon or something to indicate which player it was for. Also would have loved some sound - even just a short loop and some card placement sounds. Once I got the hang of it though, I had a good time!

Bone Train - For Ludum Dare 55 by Fatal-Exit 2024-04-19T07:55:15Z

I liked it! Neat spin on Snake. I don't really see the connection to summoning, though.

Stellar Fishing by Kiddy 2024-04-20T17:44:05Z

Fishing Wario-ware! I loved the environment and atmosphere. The transparent water letting you see the universe below was a really nice touch. And of course, any story about a dog will win me over. I'd have like to see some more juice with the different fishing minigames - perhaps even just some sound effects would have really helped. Nice job!

Elemental Path by Luc-creationallabs 2024-04-20T01:42:48Z

Neat puzzle game! Relatively easy to understand, and the levels had some interesting designs to them. As you already pointed out, I would have loved to have some audio.

Kings Court by Nabil Shelim 2024-04-21T00:19:34Z

Love the artstyle and atmosphere! I only made it to day 6 before the Nobles got tired of my head. I noticed repeats within the first couple of days, so it would have been nice to see more events. Still, great job!

Salmoning Time by Anvilesque 2024-04-20T18:04:19Z

Very funny game, all I want in my life now is more salmon!

I found the game *extremely* hard though. I could only generate one or two salmon at a time. Some feedback to indicate what I was doing wrong would go a long way!

Summoned Survivor by Jaxah 2024-04-20T06:30:18Z

Extremely hard! I feel the skeletons should be slower. Additionally, shooting the orbs seemed to not work at first, at least on my machine. The bolts would seem to instantly disappear rather than fly off the screen.

Big Fire Restaurant by DuduBertolDev 2024-04-20T06:53:08Z

I had a good time! The music made it a vibe lol. I'm sure I missed something, but I don't know how to unlock the bottom row of items in the store. I stuck to the cabbage - but at some point I got stuck inside a unit and couldn't move, and then got killed :frowning2:

Little Armies by Aditigro 2024-04-28T00:51:05Z

Oh, I really enjoyed this! I wish there was a way to deselect a target enemy once selected. I accidentally lost because I selected a target behind a cliff, and my troops mindlessly ran against the wall as they got slaughtered. Still, great entry!

Summoning by TheMotleyBrit 2024-04-20T06:36:15Z

I didn't really understand that you were passively getting stronger at first - would be nice to have some UI elements to indicate what was going on! I thought the other spawned elements were hurting me at first. Had a fun time though

LD57 — Depths

Jellylight by Steven Garberg 2025-04-12T06:37:56Z

Very chill game! I would have liked some more variety in the gameplay, but a nice fun little experience. Screenshot 2025-04-11 233628.png

Depths of the Heart by chelC 2025-04-09T06:56:04Z

Amazing voice acting, fantastic job folks! 10/10

Sokobound by farzher 2025-04-12T02:09:02Z

Oh I am not smart enough for this... great job!

Granny's Gotcha by Joscco 2025-04-09T06:34:37Z

Oh wow, this was a super cute and polished experience! Loved the humor, the art, and the mechanics were quite interesting! But I really wanted to see the cute characters interact with each other! Awesome job!

Mr. Money's Phenomenally Soggy Water Removal Romp by Rhoka 2025-04-13T19:54:09Z

Wow, this game was a masterpiece. I love how you added little exploratory elements to an incremental game that were completely unnecessary but totally enhanced the experience. I lost track of time playing, I think this may be the most time I've spent on an entry this jam  Great work, folks!

Minion No. 1067809362 by ZuhairGhias 2025-04-13T03:01:06Z

It crashed when I was told to get the discombabulator and entered the elevator again :frowning: But I really enjoyed my time up until then!

Cheese is the Reason by AXLplosion 2025-04-08T09:30:43Z

Wow, amazing! I *love* the aesthetic, the mood, the audio, the nostalgia! Definitely my favorite entry so far.

Antz vs Plantz by Blue Pin Studio 2025-04-09T02:08:14Z

I love the fuck you guy  I lost track of time playing this, such a satisfying and unique take on the tower defense genre! Really great job, folks!

Forest Depths by Martin183 2025-04-09T06:43:00Z

The spooky vibes are immaculate. Loved the mood, the sound effects, and really enjoyed just getting lost in the spooky darkness trying to find my way around. Great work!

Darkest Depths by rrsmtz 2025-04-12T02:20:01Z

A really nice take on the theme! I agree with the previous commenter that it reminds a lot of FTL. It was a bit challenging, especially the squid events I felt were too harsh, but I really got lost in the game. Great job, hope to see this idea get developed further!

Pandora's Return by googlypoo 2025-04-12T06:52:48Z

Aww

Screenshot 2025-04-11 235119.png

I really enjoyed this, just wish there was more upgrade variety!

Infinite Depths at Hilberts Hotel by Fredrik Andersson 2025-04-09T07:11:11Z

OH man, this is hard. I feel like I hacked some of my solutions as opposed to actually solving things the way I was supposed to... but a win's a win! Great job, fun puzzle game!

Drifting to the deep by Sparrowson 2025-04-08T06:57:45Z

Ooh this was a lot of fun, I lost track of time playing over and over! Love the feel and the aesthetic, especially the drift marks.

Couple thoughts: - The tire screeching sound got old pretty quickly, maybe add some variety? Or least don't play it as often - Turning was a bit too sensitive for my liking

Still, great job!

Project Planetfall: The Exodus Directive by rainbeau 2025-04-12T03:08:20Z

This was an extremely ambitious entry, and I definitely struggled to understand how to play at first. But as I kept at it I really fell in love with the systems at play. It'd be really cool to see this idea expanded on in a full release!

Looks like the game crashed after I ran out of oxygen :slight_frown:

Aside from that, incredible visuals, all the pieces come together nicely for a really fun shooter!

Mine Digger by KriSsS Gonko 2025-04-08T06:35:06Z

I was hoping I'd see a Motherload entry with this theme! The Minesweeper crossover was unexpected but in retrospect makes perfect sense. I really enjoyed my time with this one, and would love to see it expanded on in a full release  Great work!

I exited for real  Great job!

Take Your Meds by DubiousDuck 2025-04-08T04:10:24Z

Wow, this is involved! It hurts my brain trying to wrap my head around what's going on on all three layers  Nice job!

I'd recommend not snapping the camera back to the first layer when hitting play - I found that frustrating, and tried to work around it by hitting playing, then pause, and going back to my preferred layer, but hitting play just snapped back back to the first layer again

Hexagons are the bestagons.

I will say I was a bit confused at the beginning as to what buildings did and where they were allowed to be placed - it'd be nice to highlight the permitted tiles, or at least make the placement indicator less transparent.

That being said, this was a really ambitious title and I'm very impressed by what you guys accomplished, nice job!

That ship never stood a chance  Nice job!

WAG-ME: Pump-and-dump Sim by solmaris 2025-04-10T06:54:43Z

Lovely little idle game! It was fun watching my coin go straight to the moon (crypto only goes up :diamond_shape_with_a_dot_inside: ). Thankfully granny took good care of me in the mean time.

What an ending

What an incredible atmospheric experience, great job!

Haha a bold move, but it got a good laugh out of me

The Return of Tom Lander by rubentipparach 2025-10-07T01:30:31Z

This was really challenging! I think the controls are a bit unintuitive (but easy) for the arcade mode - I would expect some level of momentum. But the simulation controls were just impossible for me to use.

That being said, I really loved it! I had a lot of fun flying through the world, the aesthetic is great and kept me around so I could enjoy the art and sounds. The intro scene was also hilarious. Great job!

Broke Custodian: From Dust Till Display by outstar 2025-10-07T07:20:09Z

This was a lot of fun! Kinda lost track of time playing.

Few suggestions: - Tooltips should appear fast, atleast in the digging minigame - The custom cursor covers most of the tooltips for your popularity/friendliness/etc... - The event that completely wipes your museum layout isn't really fun, just annoying. Though maybe it serves as a good way to force the user to reconsider their layout?

Regardless, I had a great time. Great job!

Tiko's Quest by Adam Gallina 2025-10-07T02:37:35Z

Very much a vibe, I enjoyed just wandering the woods and exploring. There was a sudden difficulty spike it felt like after the 4th unique item drop off, but maybe I was just unlucky with spawns. Really ambitious creating so many 3D assets in such a short time, great job!

I won! Free from the taxman at last.

This was really, really fun! I can definitely see this being turned into a small commercial game, the bones are there for sure. My only critique is that fulfilling orders felt pretty mindless - I'd like to see more decision making there outside of spamming all the orders. Awesome job! One of my favorites so far :)

Planet Extraction by Aviv Levy 2025-10-07T02:27:00Z

Gorgeous graphics, playing is a vibe. I'd have like to see more meaningful upgrades as the drones feel fairly weak compared to manual collection. That being said, it felt very polished. Great job!

Seal the Deal! by sasik 2025-10-07T02:49:25Z

A really nice, chill, relaxing game! I loved the atmosphere - the little talking blips, the cafe music, the simple gameplay. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like there's really a way to lose? Still, had a great time with it :) nice job!
