Great idea using the jam as an opportunity to learn Unreal! I should do that next jam...
I like the concept of using planets as a sort of "slingshot" mechanism to go deeper into space, though I'm not sure I figured out how to do it properly. I'd also suggest trying to find a way to slim down the download size, because 500mb will probably turn a lot of people away. Still, nice job!
Very polished game, I especially like the UI and the music, which gives a space feeling. However, at the beginning I didn't find any other planets except my home planet, so I ran out of fuel relatively quickly.

Thanks for the feedback. I read up on reducing the download size and have managed to get it below 200MB.
Nice setup. Very polished looking. The bug about not enough things spawning made it somewhat anticlimactic. I could never find another place to refuel.
Detailed and interesting idea! Apart from a minor bug discussed by other comments, there was quite a bit of time in polish here, and it shows!

Wow game was well done!
Nice idea! Maybe I would have add the current speed of the ship, it was difficult at some times to know if we have to use the thrust or not :)
I'm not sure if the game is working at all for me, or if I'm missing something.
- There are 3 different files showing on your itch page, which is the correct one? You should hide old/incorrect versions
- There seems to be a lot of audio popping/clipping happening for me, though the audio does sound nice if it weren't for the popping.
- My ship doesn't really seem to move. I was able to point myself away from the starting planet and kind of move into general blackness, but there was basically no gameplay to speak of. I tried playing 5 times, 4 of those my ship would literally not move at all.
Wish I could try it!

@thesambassador hoepfully these issues should be fixed in the lastest upload called "Bugs Fixed". Ive taken your advice and hidden the old files :)

The atmosphere feels great, The size of the shadow left by a small rocket on the surface of the planet is a bit strange

I still don’t understand if I should try to do orbital jumps or not, but great idea!

Yeah the concept is pretty neat but it lacks a bit of action. Having more gravity around planets and using them to slingshot yourself even deeper into space would be cool. I also feel like the fuel depletes a bit to fast (at least for my taste).
I read that you are new to unreal but one thing that takes you a bit out of the immersion and there might by an easy fix in engine is having the new planets not pop up in front of you but have them emerge from a fog or something (i have no idea about unreal either).
All in all im not the biggest fan of the gameplay but really like the design, concept and mood.

It's a good effort, I think it needs some more action thought. Very nice, clean UI, I like that. I'm assuming you refuel while inside a planets blue orbit, and use fuel when outside the orbit, but because the ship is a distance above the plane of the orbit visuals it is hard to tell when you are inside/outside yet, I think this needs to be clearer. I found a bug where if two orbits are overlapping and you leave the orbit of one planet, even though you remain inside the other planets orbit, you begin to lose fuel.

Wow, just Wow. I am really impressed.
Very nice concept. Impressed that you guys managed to polish the game when you are trying a new engine.
Like I said the concept is great but the game lacks some kind of action or something to keep the player playing. After a while it gets a bit boring. But overall is a good game. Good luck!
Very nice! The graphics and the sounds, everything fits the space theme. The game itself is easy to pick up and understand.
I think because we move so slow, it does get kind of boring quickly. I was hoping I'd have to try and slingshot myself around planets to try and preserve fuel and momentum.
BUT, Good job getting in such a good entry with an engine you've just learned! I'd never even try that lol
Nice work yall!

Interesting concept, atmospheric music, and sound but actual gameplay need some additional mechanics to be more fun and addicting.
Cool game ! I liked exploring space and the planets look really good.
Good job
Great idea, I like the concept. I think you could have fleshed it out a bit more with some mechanics around planets gravity. Besides that I think its really well polished for your first project in the engine.
Neat idea for the theme! The visuals and audio did suit the space atmosphere well. Like others have said, it is a bit slow in its current state. Some gravity effects from the planets or something could help there. I also wonder if maybe the objective could use something more to it besides distance. For example, 'number of planets found with x on it'. I think there was also a bug where the fuel refilled itself. Or was there an item somewhere?
Overall, a decent game for 3 days. I think it really is an interesting concept that may be worth pursuing.
Complex space travel mechanics are always intriguing. But I did feel like my ship wasn't moving at all, and there seemed to be nothing to interact with. It was like I wasn't able to explore a lot of the world(s) you created, which was a shame. That said I liked the space setting. Nice!

The game feels pretty polished for such a short amount of time to work on it! Really neat! It would be great if you could maybe check out my game as well :)

Despite the lack of air, the game was very atmospheric, due to good sound and graphics. Good job!

God the polish! The game looks great and plays good but as people said before it lacks something that keeps you playing more. Good job nevertheless!
Very nice looking game, just to chill while flying from one planet to another. With a little better camera movement (like following target, not sticked to it) it would look slightly better ;) Anyway nice game for first time with Unreal.
