LD26 — Minimalism

Small Tale by hitchh1k3r 2013-05-26T20:08:00

In retrospect I think the story is a bit too obscure. There could have been more emphasis on key elements to draw out the imagination of the player.

For programming, I think working on library and helper functions was where my time thrived. I also enjoy working on such things so I think it's a good match (example: class GUIBox).

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Time Surge by Solifuge 2013-09-01T03:05:00

I was trying to push for a Jefferies tube mechanic so that you could move between rooms but we ran out of time.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

O-Inari Origami by Solifuge 2014-12-09T04:31:00

I really liked the art, the puzzles seemed more like luck than skill though. The second level was confusing, and I got stuck again on one of the 3 fold levels.

Unity Ascension by hitchh1k3r 2014-12-10T17:18:00

I feel like this theme is hard to do something unique with, but having all players play on the same "screen" is one way to add depth. For improvements, I think that adding different enemy types that possibly scale due to some factor could have increased engagement.

Snowball Escape by The Number Guy 2014-12-18T19:27:00

I felt the controlls and concept were good. Since the game was on an iOS device I was expecting the game to be a single button click, but it didn't take too long to discover what to do. I would have liked to see more mechanics and increased difficulty over time.

Pixel Trapper by Vanatoth 2014-12-10T01:37:00

A liked the interesting game mechanic, but it was a bit hard to do on a laptop with a trackpad.

aMAZEing by mjp456789 2014-12-10T01:42:00

The controls reminded me of the game marble madness. It might be nice to have hitting obstacles cost the player something.

Snowman's Land: SNOVERCHILL by RHY3756547 2014-12-15T03:20:00

I thought it was a fun game. One improvement could be a more elaborate trick system like uniracers.

The 800 Page Hedgehog and Bunny Epic by miziziziz 2017-12-23T21:21:17Z

Nice game.

EYAM by donvermo 2017-12-10T22:14:48Z

I like the idea and thought it had a good mood. One thing I wasn't sure about was the direction of what to do. I kept upgrading my houses and graves but didn't know if I was going to a specific end or goal.

Santa's Factory by SaraMartins 2017-12-09T23:17:01Z

I think you did a good job on the graphics, and the music fit the mood of the game. It would be interesting to see what kind of mechanics could be added to give it more debth.

I have a lowpowered Macbook that it didn't work well on, but on linux it worked great. I just needed to rename the data folder and make the binaries executable.

Piña by MewSoul 2017-12-09T23:33:33Z

I liked the graphics and how the game related to the theme. The score board was a nice idea also. It would be nice to see more levels.

Scissor Lift by Jakub Panek 2017-12-23T21:10:59Z

I liked the level select menu. Nice job.

Rattendorf by NoAim91 2017-12-09T21:49:15Z

Nice job, I really like the graphics.

Order Now! by Sibi 2017-12-09T21:40:29Z

I liked that it felt like a logic game, where you needed to review the options to find the best pizza. I wish it was a bit more difficult, but that might make it less fun.

Slithering Secrets by meanmon13 2017-12-18T02:48:47Z

Nice job. I thought this game really displayed an experience you don't have in many games.

LD42 — Running out of space

Slime Janitor by bradur 2018-09-01T18:42:53Z

I tried the mac version. For some reason when I used TNT on the second level the game would crash. Not sure why. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how it was working on this idea. The game I worked on is a bit similar and we had a hard time getting mechanics that seemed interesting.

Brain's little symbiont by Local Minimum 2018-09-01T01:13:24Z

Very unique and interesting. Good job.

Welcome to BURELAND by eptwalabha 2018-08-18T18:16:17Z

Made it to level 24, not sure how long it goes.

Volant Islands by wujood 2018-09-01T19:36:26Z

I liked the ending flourish when you beat a level, and the in-between audio. I had to think a little on the last two puzzles, the other ones were fairly straight forward but the last puzzle seemed interesting.

Aura by Papaver 2018-09-01T19:55:22Z

I liked the flute and thought the concept fit the theme really well.

Personal Space by ProdigalSon 2018-09-01T01:33:59Z

Fun game. Nice job. Reminded me of bomberman and the board game don't break the ice.

Space Taters by Jan 2018-08-19T18:26:33Z

It was fun, wasn't sure what to do with all the items, but that could help create interest in trying to figure things out. Kept running out of inventory space.

Evil Forest Battle by devharts 2018-08-19T04:04:20Z

Got caught in a grind cycle like in an RPG, clicking around until I could level my spells up.

Screen Space Defender by Balance686 2018-08-19T00:42:53Z

Hmm, I get an error that says, "You need a browser which supports WebGL to run this content. Try installing Firefox." But I am using FireFox.

Not sure what the issue was but I did get it to work and it was very fun. Good job.

Garbage Collector by bitowl 2018-08-18T17:02:41Z

Pro: I liked the feel of the game: futuristic kinda like a star trek holodeck.

Con: Got an error message playing the HTML version and only one box kept appearing. "An error occurred running the Unity content on this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was: SecurityError: The operation is insecure."

Alchemist Dungeon by hexkritor 2018-08-26T14:36:47Z

The game I worked on seems to have a similar base concept but taken in a different direction. It's really cool to see the mechanics you came up with and how you put it together into a game.

I never really figured out what causes the death gas, I'm wondering if there are clues as to which squares have it or if it's just randomly generated.

FoxyPops by Mammabouter 2018-08-18T17:43:43Z

I tend to play games without reading the instructions. For some reason I thought I was supposed to avoid the balloons but doing that I kept loosing. Going back and reading the instructions though I saw my mistake and started to do batter.

California Jane by fivenamefivesocks 2018-08-26T15:01:29Z

I think there's a lot I can learn from the way you structured your puzzles and how you put the level transitions together. You did a great job. The first puzzle I had to think on was #9 and there were a few more that took a bit longer for me.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Effigies by Geckoo1337 2018-12-30T19:40:22Z

Good job. The puzzles didn't feel like guess work but still allowed for exploring how the level/world works to understand how to solve it.

The pushing block mechanic was unexpected. It seemed to open the levels up to a lot of different solutions. The game I worked on had a one similar puzzle in it to this idea, where the characters needed to exit a sliding ice area.

I almost didn't get to play this because my Windows isn't set up most of the time, but I'm glad I was able to get it working and check this out.

Colors of Your World by DDRKirbyISQ 2018-12-30T18:37:31Z

Nice job. The platforming was fun and controlled well.

Thematically it reminded me of Gris. But I liked how you removed colours one by one instead of adding them. It also had better gameplay than Gris so good job there.

Narratively I did not get why removing a colour would grant a power, but that's a small thing. Maybe it would be neat if the main character gained colours as they were removed from the world, or they flashed the colour they removed from the world when they used the ability they gained.

Wildfire: Forest Containment by candlesan 2018-12-10T02:06:30Z

It was fun and brings awareness to an important issue. The theme fit nicely into the game.

Sacrificial Cards by Howard Duong 2018-12-17T16:20:37Z

I had a fun time with that. Changing the player's stats makes it fun to play over again. I wonder if the sacrificial cards could have a narrative motivation. Maybe they could be medical stimulants or something to do with the occult.

Not so Magic! by VadeMetro 2018-12-17T16:33:35Z

Hearts is one of my favorite card games and this has a similar feel. Good job on the game.

Ice Runner by hungryghost 2018-12-17T17:06:48Z

This game gives me an old retro feel. Reminded me of when I was younger and playing marble madness or smartball.

Friends OR Food by najmm 2018-12-26T18:58:17Z

Nice job. It was fun to move and shoot around, and it was definitely easier with fewer characters to control (sacrifices must be made, braw-ha-ha). After a bit of playing I was hoping to see some variation: new enemies, weapons, or levels. Overall a solid foundation to expand on.

Labrats by Matank 2018-12-16T14:57:10Z

I think there's a lot of potential in this idea. I wanted to play more levels. I did get stuck for a little on level 4. I forgot I needed to leave the play area, so after excaping the inner room I was wondering how to progress.

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-10T00:55:14Z

I didn't get as far as most but I had a good time. I wonder if being able to micro manage units with distinct abilities for different units would be an interesting addition.

Protect Him by Sockman 2018-12-22T17:11:10Z

Solid idea. I'm guessing the biggest comment will be to have more levels. Which is a good place to be in. My computer had a little trouble with the camera, but after pressing escape it seemed to correct its self.

Overall good job.

For The Greater Good by Eddie Li 2018-12-08T22:59:09Z

Good job. I liked having the players freeze in mid air making me think about where I want them and how to move them. I liked the simple graphics and felt they fit in well with the game.

The game I worked on used a similar player switching mechanic, so it's interesting to see how another game uses the same mechanic.

One problem I had was in trying to jump off the other players. I couldn't get the timing right and kept missing the jump.

For Brain ! by nolifedev 2018-12-10T01:27:44Z

Good use of the theme as a central mechanic. I could have played more. I did get briefly stuck on level 3. I knew what I wanted to do but I kept clipping the corner of the spike trap and dying before I wanted.

Total Party Kill by adventureislands 2018-12-09T00:07:37Z

Nice job. All around very good. I don't know if I was doing things right but it didn't seem like the knight did much but get killed :)

LD45 — Start with nothing

No-Thing Island by SleepyStudios 2019-10-26T14:59:16Z

Good job, it was fun. I didn't quite know how to properly solve the totem puzzle so I just cycled through the possibilities.

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Dumb Kid's Job by Yvanor 2020-04-25T17:12:04Z

The story was good. The shooting controls cramped my hand a bit (I'm on a laptop) since there is one button you always need to hold down. My main strategy for shooting the enemies was to keep them off screen so they couldn't see me, or to peek around a corner to give me some cover.

Little Human by yyam 2020-04-25T16:18:39Z

I liked a lot about this game (sound, graphics, puzzles, etc.).

I couldn't quite figure out what caused the fish to pop up. Maybe I was just brute forcing the puzzles and not thinking enough though.

It Lives by Sbug 2020-04-25T05:46:32Z

I haven't played something that frightening in a long time. It probably helps that it's very late at night. Nicely done.

Space Station Alpha by kjscott 2020-04-24T00:01:23Z

I think I beat it but I'm not sure if I did it right. The radar and signal were already repaired when I go there which didn't quite seem right.

Also, when I moved my person too fast the audio seemed to get garbled a bit, but maybe that's just my computer.

Nice job, it was fun.

Save the torch! by eduardogacn 2020-04-29T12:48:02Z

good

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Crazy Looper by LeReveur 2020-10-08T18:31:25Z

Nice job, it reminded me of when I was young and playing with cars and those loop tracks. I think you have a good feel going here. An improvement could be to add some additional mechanics or challenges that would add meaningful choices for players.

The Loop by minibobbo 2020-10-08T04:29:34Z

I liked the shield mechanic. Reminded me of playing star fox a bit. Nice job.

LichLoop by Abregado 2020-10-14T03:40:29Z

Nice job, I liked this a lot. It seemed easy at first but at level 5 had a jump in difficulty for me. Took me some time to beat that level.

Angriff by Literally Void 2020-10-08T01:14:27Z

It was fun. I had a hard time moving though, the web browser kept scrolling when I moved up and down.

Loop Factory by Nitero 2020-10-07T19:50:51Z

nice idea. I enjoyed playing it.

The Dusty Work by Bugord 2020-10-15T02:15:36Z

Good job, I felt there was a nice progression to the levels. I had to work out how to move the cleaning robot with the various items, which took a bit of thought. Nice use of the theme.

Curse of King Uroboros by Echo GameWorks 2020-10-14T03:52:41Z

Good job. It was fun setting up where I wanted the ghosts to shoot and then sit back and let them finish off the boss.

The Magician's Maze by MidoriMelody 2020-10-09T17:28:22Z

Yay, I got to the center. Mouse movement didn't work on my computer though, but then my computer has issues. I liked the feeling of the game. It would be nice to see some additional puzzle mechanics that you need to solve to get to the center instead of just finding the correct door. It was fun, good job.

Stuck in a Soup Loop by Doot 2020-10-07T23:54:36Z

Nice job I liked the art style.

[LD47] Falling Asleep by Dark Dungeon Studio 2020-10-07T16:46:29Z

I liked the mood and audio/story. It's a creative take on the theme. Took me a bit to figure out what to do, but I got it after a few goes.

Loops in pool by Recher 2020-10-09T03:29:26Z

It was fun. It was a good challenge. One part that was slightly challenging was that the colours seemed to blend a bit, but that might just be my computer. Red, blue, and green can clash a bit when trying to read and search for the pieces I need. Maybe some white and black lines could help keep contrast. Overall good job.

LD49 — Unstable

Raiders of the lost gems by Domantas 2021-10-11T00:21:41Z

Hmm, is there a way to get that egg thing at the end? It didn't seem like it but I wasn't sure. I enjoyed the mechanics, and levels. There were a few levels that got me thinking a bit, the rest were fairly straight forward. Maybe another mechanic could add variety.

RUIN ESCAPE by reccy 2021-10-06T04:03:42Z

I don't think the difficulty was too hard. I had fun playing the levels. It took a little time to figure out some of them. And if I'm not mistaken there was a red-herring "+1" at the end level. It easier to get stuck earlier on because you are learning the mechanics. Some additional mechanics, sound, or visual effects could have been some nice improvements. Nice job.

Chickie Catchers by DDRKirbyISQ 2021-10-11T03:55:44Z

Nice job, the music and visuals reminds me of Yoshi's island.

You won't believe your result from this personality test! by allthebees 2021-10-10T20:07:09Z

Interesting, I don't think I quite get it but it was most amusing.

Heat Death by zeta0134 2021-10-10T23:28:00Z

I think I got to the end. It was fun. kinda reminded me of Celeste because of the precision platforming. I would have like some different visuals as the game progressed to the end. I thought the mechanic where the robot ran out of power was very interesting.

Snmuloc by tayl1r 2021-10-11T01:52:30Z

Very interesting idea, and much more difficult than I thought it would be.

Lab Panic! by GibsS 2021-10-11T03:38:50Z

Nice job. It's gets more difficult that I that it would but that makes good.

Neon Tower by Sli 2021-10-10T01:57:54Z

Interesting game. Nice calming music, and an appealing visual style.

Among Monolyths by Dekajoo 2021-10-04T21:34:17Z

I liked it. It defiantly feels like that game which shall not be named (a.k.a. el Testigo). Took me a while to get the double-line puzzles, but I eventually got it. It was very possible to spam-click to find solutions, which I did for a few puzzles while figuring out the mechanics. Would have liked more visual interest. Maybe give the different sections a theme that ties into the mechanics. Overall a good job.

Crumbling Down by JustCallMeBB 2021-10-10T20:29:16Z

Nice job, it was a lot of fun. I liked the heart level the best. Would have liked to see some music and maybe some graphics effects.

A Healthy Dose of Dungeon by alanxoc3 2021-10-10T01:53:46Z

Wobbly Penguins by bqq 2021-10-11T03:20:23Z

Great job. Totally unexpected. Can't say I quite understand what's going on but it was very interesting.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Like Rabbits by ruthiepee 2022-04-09T15:34:54Z

I kinda feel like a grinch trying to stop all the love. But with the theme I guess the message is the love is inevitable, and at some point with so many rabbits it feels like if I just move one it won't do anything. Not sure what the best strategy would be, but the early game is probably most important.

The Great Flood by cassowary 2022-04-15T15:11:46Z

Nice job, most of the levels seemed like a fairly straight forward solution, but the last one required thought. There seems to be some potential in odd vs even movement and the floating blocks, but I guess that's just a binary choice so it's easy to brute force.

Click to Continue by Daniel Foutz 2022-04-11T00:40:43Z

Not exactly fun, but interesting. I enjoyed the uniqueness, I would have liked some agency and choice but maybe that's the point.

Oh No My Trophy by zimny11 2022-04-20T12:27:33Z

Nice job. First try I got 450. I enjoyed the different enemy types. To spice things up maybe there could be different level types.

Defend 'till the end by kjscott 2022-04-19T04:05:25Z

I liked the graphics a lot. Would have liked to see some more mechanics to make the game last a bit longer.

Never Alone by fachscahfttf 2022-04-19T04:13:07Z

It's a neat idea to save the actions. At first I wasn't exactly sure if it was multiplayer or if it was just an AI, but this seems like an interesting way to make the play feel multiplayer without it being multiplayer.

Hyper Kremlin Bros. II Tournament Edition by Samps 2022-04-19T04:20:29Z

Nice job, I was able to get 51, not sure the best strategy. I wonder if being able to move the nuke would increase player agency and give more options to the strategy.
