awesome game! very fun and intuitive love every level
Had a blast! Played through all the levels. Wonderful variety in each level design, and great job teaching the controls throughout the game!! #Telesplat2000
Very cute! Love the production. The lack of engine made this a very crisp experience. Very technically impressive!
Really fun game, i've enjoyed a lot playing, the dialog is also super fun, and i belived you you said they looked friendly... XP Couldn't figure out how to get pass that level that has a huge yellow formation at the center, anywhere i dash i hit a solid wall or/and die.
@edevjogos Thanks for the kind words! If it's the level I'm thinking of, you need to move diagonally through it, maybe after jumping in order to go all the way across the map.
A great game! The movement and mechanics are polished to a shine. The platforming and semi-puzzle aspects are fun to go through! More mechanics and levels would boost this game much further. Great game!
Cool game! I really enjoyed it! Sounds and music fit the game. The level design is very good. And the tutorial is well done and there were enough levels to explore and enjoy the mechanic. I finished all the way through.
I like the dialogue and the level design the mechanics worked super well but there is a certain amount of standing around and doing nothing while you are waiting for entropy builds. Apart from that I thought it was great.
@naymsayk Yeah, the balancing around entropy growth wasn't quite where I would've liked it, but we were down to the wire with what we had - our last commit had less than a minute remaining on the clock! It's definitely something we would tune with a bit more time. Some levels were created before we even had the ability to spawn the player with different starting entropy, so that probably contributes to the slowness too. Glad you liked it!
@naymsayk There was actually a proposed mechanic that didn't make it into the game, where if you glitched into a normal wall it would charge your entropy. So something as simple as glitching while holding down (so you would glitch towards the floor / not move at all) and there would be some particles and you would be net positive in entropy. It was proposed as a way to travel up walls or even across ceilings (glitch once into the wall and then once ahead indefinitely, if you could keep it timed), not as a way to fill the player's spare time, and so it didn't seem as necessary (the player is already quite mobile as it is.). In hindsight though it would be a fun thing the player could do anywhere that would directly solve their waiting problem. Whoops!
The chiptune (especially when the music evolve) and the pixel art is great!! The first double jump levels was quite hard to understand, it takes me a few level after it to understand how I've managed to clear it (by luck and retry) ahaha Otherwise the rest of the game is very neat! There are some great level design, remind me of Celeste by moment! Great job!
terribly good! loved the music!! loved the controls, they were really tight! dialogue was a nice flavor! its perfect!
This was really fun, I didn't have too much trouble completing it and I felt the pacing was quite good. I found the difficulty a little bit up and down, the middle levels seemed the most difficult with more resource management required compared to the last few levels I could just platform my way through, but I actually kind of liked that as it felt like a reward for learning the mechanics. I agree with the above comment that standing around waiting for entropy was a bit of a negative, but it was such a core mechanic any change to it would make the game feel totally different I think.
The level design was awesome! It was a fun challenge to both plan and execute strategies. The entropy mechanics were great, especially in the later levels, and you nailed the brief!
Wow, that was a fantastic entry! Easily one of my favorites I've played so far. I really liked the level designs, and you created a lot of content in the context of the jam. The levels were just the right level of challenging, and the mechanics were easy to pick up, and fair. The music effect you used was really cool too. I managed to beat it, but not without a good few deaths! If you wanted to, I bet you could expand on this quite a bit.
I really have nothing but positive things to say - thanks for a really fun game!
Really nice one, i enjoed the way the controls were taught thorugh the level's design. The platforming felt fairly good, especially the dash, it gives a nice sense of "UMPH". The entropy can sometimes take a bit too long to recharge, which can slow down the game a bit. there isn't much to complain here, its a pretty solid game.
You make much out of a few simple mechanic i like that a lot. Here are some points i noted:
Good:
The level-design really carried here. Most rooms were pretty straight forward but they almost all had their own quirks and tricks. You had levels with precise jumps and others that were more puzzle heavy. All in all a good variety and not to much to get bored.
The console is a charming way to add info to the player and also build a little narrative to follow.
The sprites were very simple but you kept that consistent throughout the game and the glitches and little effects were a nice touch too.
And after all the controls feel good and the game is fun. The dash is naturally the main mechanic and the standard-set keybinds should be comfortable to most players (good choice going with shift and not y/z or smt).
Less Good:
Many rooms felt a bit empty with the vast unfilled areas in them. That can be the cost of going with such a simple style but can be prevented with a bit of camerawork for example. Thats just a minor nitpick though.
My only real critcism is the choice to have the 'dashpoints' generate over time. That leads to some longer waiting around and slows that otherwise fast paced gameplay.
TLDR: fun jump'n'dash with good level design and clean (if a bit sterile) art and an enjoyable little narrative. Deserves the 4.5 in fun for sure.
Fun platformer, dashing long distances feels great, controls work well for the speed. The taunting dialog is a nice touch. I'm taken a bit out of it waiting for my jumps to refill, though I LOVE the resulting mechanics trying to manage your resources to pass the next segment. Nice job!
This was a really good game. Controls are good, although I felt moving diagonally was slightly weird; might just be me, though. The levels are pretty well-crafted, some keeping me for a good minute or two.
Honestly, I felt the terminal dialogue was a little distracting, and I would've personally preferred the music stay clear. But those are really the only bad things I can say about this. Great job, all of you!
Hey that was great!!! The level design was intuitive and carried you through the mechanics then opened up to test the player's capability. The controls felt easy to use and straightforward. The gameplay was super fun and the console responses to the players fortune or misfortune was very funny. I got caught up in the gameplay and completed all levels. This could be processed into a full mobile release!
this game was great and the level design was intuitive! it was really fun teleporting around! all in all, really nice jam entry
Incredible job on the art and sound! The game was quite fun too, I wish I used a controller though, trying to dash diagonally is a bit of a pain on WASD. Amazing job!
I love that game ! it reminds me of the game Celeste
I love the level design
A really fun platformer entry! Love the pixel aesthetic a lot.
My biggest complaint however is waiting to walk after basically completing a level, I think it'd be fine to allow the player to regain their ability to walk when they touch the ground, I think that wouldn't affect the levels but would increase player QOL
Cool game! Pretty fun platformer mechanics, but the cooldown between dashes refilling meant that a lot of my time was spent just waiting for the refill, doing nothing else. Cooldowns are generally not fun, and are a pretty terrible fit for a platforming game. Another way to achieve what is pretty much the same end result without being unfun would be to create blocks that instantly give you a dash when you touch them.
Great game! loved how reactive the chat box was!
The chatbox mocking while playing is a nice touch. Cute graphics and pretty tight controls too. I do agree with some of the above commenters about the dash cooldown being a little odd though. Still, great job!
Really fun little platformer! Sometimes i wasnt sure if the solution i got was the "intended" one ^^
I like the mechanic, I feel the cooldown might be a little to long, but other than that the snappy dashes and quick transition on death keep the game speedy. Good job on this
Solid and fun. Great job!
Interesting game, it should be a bit more optimized, but base concept is amazing.
Fun little game - I wish the controls were a bit different (not a fan of space to jump), but this was really enjoyable and has a lot of potential!
Good work :)
I think I got to the end. It was fun. kinda reminded me of Celeste because of the precision platforming. I would have like some different visuals as the game progressed to the end. I thought the mechanic where the robot ran out of power was very interesting.
awesome game! great music, cool idea, interesting gameplay, pretty art you're my #1 at this jam
Great game! Well executed on the music and vibe, I liked the text antagonist, great combo power of too much charge causing explosion, and a good collection of novel levels that fully explored the ideas! Great play
Great work. Nice game mechanics and BGM. But, I want to shorten the recovery time of the jump.
