Very nicely made, fun to play and great presentation of the controls
Reminded me of some old school games I used to play, e.g. Dangerous dave. I think the mechanic you have could work with a bit of a tweak as right now it seems to punish you for getting ahead by making you start again. I think if there was a set amount of villages with different abilities this could work a lot better. For example having the first villager be able to jump but the second villager cannot but instead he can walk on walls. this would change the same play space. having one that can phase through objects vs one that can swing a sword etc to make each restart feel new. Well done for getting it done though
Very polished, I like the lighting and colour palette. The fighting is a bit repetitive, but at least its punchy for lack of a better word. Well done
nicely put together. As there was quite a lot of humour I think the main story would benefit from it being very lighthearted too. Easily played until the end, very short but well done for keeping the quality consistent
Very nice, the game felt smooth and the hijacking worked well. I like the little animations, good polish
Music and art are great, good job
I like character design and the music. I feel it could be the start of a good game with added features like moving the block like @rkuhl mentioned. Having the one track continuously play instead of starting and stopping probably made it easier to keep replaying after dying
I like the art style, and the pick ups were a nice touch that kept me spinning round
Great job, liked the music and feel of it and the way you displayed the controls
Well done on a unique game, genuinely stumped on a couple, so nice I could go to the menu and skip level. I like the retro vibe and how you scale the difficulty slowly. Well done for getting this done in time. I thought the number of spikes indicated how many cats needed to be sacrificed to fill the spikes but this wasn't the case, maybe something that's clear how many feline lives would need to be sacrificed would be good and maybe a confrm before exiting (no idea why I didnt just press the levels button instead of starting again from scratch) Overall felt pretty polished you done well
nice graphics, was a little hard trying to drag the body's though
I like the idea of sacrificing you attack power to heal yourself. I wasn't sure when my attack was working so perhaps a little more feedback there. Congrats
I like the mood you have going on in this game. Good work, and pretty ambitious for the jam. I think perhaps something that clearly shows no interaction is required while waiting for the next dialog (e.g. black bars from the top and bottom sliding in) as there were times I thought the controls weren't working when I didn't realise there was just a pause in the text before the next line. Also very nice work with the sounds, adds so much to it
Multiple endings are nice. Agree with chaczyk, statistics would be nice. like the tell tale games showing you who you sacrificed vs others. congrats
@piter and @darkanice, I agree, would've been better with just mouse control I think. Thanks for the feedback.
@elfunck definitely could've used polish, unfortunately we had other commitments so had to try to at least get the core in. Was probably more around 20 to 30 hours tops we actually spent. Just about got the enemies speeding up over time before uploading so yeah the balance was all over the place @darkanice & @rhewid . Better time management for sure next time, but was a nice challenge getting what we had ready
@samh thanks for the great feedback. Wish I had the time to include all your suggestions, totally agree
Very nice art style, found the jump was used more to line up the baby shots lol Well done, was hoping it was longer
I'd like to try this on a touch screen, with fruit ninja style slashes. I like the theme
Fun to play, I liked the zelda style rooms and I think its a cool take on the theme actually haha Well done
Really nice art and i like the look of the tutorial messages. Could do with some sound
Feel like this would work a lot better on a touch screen. I like how even though minimal, the slash trails are quite effective in conveying the action. I think a little more feedback on a successful parry would be nice, other than that good entry and interesting direction
I was pretty confused at first as I didnt know what I was meant to be doing or what to press but I figured it out in the end. I like the look of the game, Good job! Simple but well put together
Nicely put together. I like the variety in the enemies, and the satisfying splat that results from you hitting them. Overall a very enjoyable game. If I could add anything, perhaps a few defensive upgrades? Something to help against a mob of those skeleton projectiles. Good job though, I enjoyed it
A good amount of polish, I like the UI and look of it. Leaderboards weren't working when I tried (Or maybe I didnt score high enough to show up?) overall very well put together

I like the style of this game. Controls felt fluid, but like mentioned by a few others the wall jumps were pretty difficult to pull off. Very nice menu and general art direction. Well done
I played this a lot longer than I thought I would. Well done, the combination of managing the patients and the mini games proved to be quite addictive! The throwing of the pills and placebo mini game seemed a little hard but other than that, Very nice polish, nice concept and its fun to play. Great job.
@gentel Thank you for checking it out! and for letting me know about that bug!Totally agree with the coin shooting, wish I had more time...as we probably all do. @vuvuzuellainc Thank you for trying it out. I appreciate the feedback and the encouragement
@ryusui it sounds so obvious when you say it haha, I agree that would've been a better way to handle that! Honestly though it was just really poor time management. level 1 and 2 are really still tutorials and it ends at level 3. Would've liked to do more but finished the 3rd level with 5 mins to the deadline. Thanks for checking it out
@tiffi Glad to hear that and thank you for trying it out. @melaniee thank you for the feedback, I thought she done well too. @duke thank you for the great feedback, indeed the ladders were a bit of a sore point for me too. As for the level design, time got the better of us, couple of enemies and a few hazards were left out. Glad you tried it out
I really like your take on the theme. Nice idea. Like a lot of the people I struggled with the controls initially but once I could use the arrow keys things went smoother. Pretty cool art and design. Congrats
felt quite calming to begin with then the total opposite as it went on. Well done
I like the style of this game. Pretty slick for such a short period of time. Well done
I like your angle on the theme, life as memories. I feel a little sound would bring it to life. Well done on an original idea
The sound effects had me cracking up. Good job
fun idea, pretty challenging when you lose eyes though
Well nailed the theme lol but is there a way to actually get to the bar?
Where do I start here. Really elegant design. Great choice of music, I actually let it play a while at the start screen, it also goes well with the graphics. The way the game starts and ends and seamlessly loops back to the start screen is very well done. The feedback is rich...again...just an elegant design. I really like the idea, easy to pick up and very enjoyable. You tied this together really well. I'd say perhaps making it slightly easier to begin with, before having moving obstacles a little more practice would be nice but other than that I'm impressed
Clean interface, pretty funny and yeah a little hard as has been said but a nice entry. I like how the sound and animation of the votes work together
Really good atmosphere in this, genuinely unsettling and I liked the voice acting. I got stuck however when you get the symbols the triangle moon and the other..didn't know what to do from there. Well done on creating that tense atmosphere
Nice looking top down shooter, could use better hit detection. I like the way the sound slows on death, nice touch
I like the art style used and the charming music, the little hovering animation works well. I think I cheated the room with the red spheres somehow, I wasn't sure what I was doing but got through. some of the text cuts off in full screen on my browser. a little hard for me but I'm not great at puzzle games, nice entry
Nice game, I got all the pizza. The music is catchy and the idea is easy to understand. I did find it hard to align myself properly and assumed it was a bug but read in your previous comments that it was intentional. perhaps making it so you don't have complete movement control but rather you shoot towards a direction and stop when you hit a wall and also right after you go through the screen...to avoid looping. maybe that would communicate that clearer?
Just as you were pulling me in it ended. Super short but what is there is nice. Music goes very well with it, good atmosphere, kind of reminds me of "The Way". Would've liked to see how you would've handled the puzzles. Good job for getting this up there even though you lost so much time
Nice music, I really like the canvas and paint aesthetic and how it goes well with the music. Its very nice idea, easy to pick up and understand. I found myself clicking wishing I could fling the string forward, so I think that may be a good addition. perhaps having some items you can loop around to temporarily increase the string size too. Overall though very nice polish and solid execution, Well done
I cant seem to launch the game. The Windows build doesn't have the .exe file. Looks like its the files for the web build. Let me know if I'm missing something
I like the intro sequence, sets it up nicely. I also felt the audio worked well and the art made it easy to see how many steps I need to take. If I was to add anything it would be free movement of the camera maybe but other than that a solid puzzle game, good job
This was really well done, super clean, nice style and all just fits together well. Not sure how I would improve this bravo
The art really surprised me with this one, doesn't come across in the screenshots but really nice from the moment it zooms in from the menu. I liked the loop idea with the platforming but found the jumps were a little too difficult to reach and moving with the platform wasn't as fun. Perhaps moving with the platforms but having to jump to another moving platform might be a good alternative? I like the doughnut enemies, they have a nice animations, everything from the smooth walk to the punch and disintegration. Good job
*EDIT* "perhaps not having to follow along with the moving platform but sticking to it and having to jump to other moving platforms..." realised that bit wasn't really clear. I see you're using unity. If you know this already ignore me. But if not you can set the player transform as a child of the moving platform when he lands on it and set his transform.parent to null when you jump to have him move along the platform without slipping and continue as normal afterwards;
@preda its hard to judge how difficult things will be for others especially when you are making it. keep at it this is a good game, just slight jump height tweaks is all that's needed. for floatiness increase gravity so they drop quicker and increase jump force to compensate maybe
Very nice snappy movement, feels really good to play. Looks like it was meant to be a hard game but it would have been nice to increase the difficulty a little more gradually. I had a hard time passing the 2 archers until I found out about the pit exploit lol Really good entry well done
I liked the main screen animation. I wasn't entirely sure what I was supposed to do though. the handle bits that seem to break asteroids are difficult to move or am I doing it wrong? I kept going mad in space apparently lol The music is a good fit for this and I like the art style
Very impressive graphics and effects here. Really good idea too, replaying feels different with the different loadouts and keeps you coming back. The enemy ai seems pretty good too, challenging but fun. I kept thinking this could really use some sound and came to write this but looks like its just me the sound isn't working for, strange. also there was some slowdown on particle explosions and I got this error ERROR: instance_set_transform: Condition "Math::is_nan(v.x)" is true. At: servers/visual/visual_server_scene.cpp:601. Technical issues aside its a really impressive game and you done well to get all that in there. P.S. Would have been nice to shoot the orb
**EDIT** The sound works. I retried it and its all fine and does add to the atmosphere and impact of the action
Funny story with a good choice of music, I like the way the text animates also. I would have liked more options but I understand the time constraint. The text cuts off on my screen a bit, might just be me though by the looks of it. Overall though it played well good job
@png and anonymous. I agree, disappointed I didn't get any in, thanks for checking it out!
@maaot your art is great! thanks for making that available. Wish I could've done it better justice by adding the backgrounds and decorations. Next time, and thanks for having a look. If you ever release paid art please let me know
@shyrro thank you for trying it out.
@griddolini smaller levels is a good idea I think that would work well. I was meant to have more rock portals. especially above the start point and that was meant to get you closer to an area you were when you found the corresponding portal but ran out of time. thanks for checking it out
@frosty thank you, there was meant to be a shield ability and a boss fight with a vine monster too lol I'm delusional when it comes to scope
@nardandas Happy to hear you played it al, makes it worth the effort.
@essarrgee no it isn't just you, improving that was on my to do list just didnt get round to it. I wanted particles to fly back to here you were kind of like Celeste, but you're right a simple delay would have improved that a lot
@gnx thank you, you had a good amount of content in yours too.
@jk5000 @beezthepangean Thanks glad you liked it.
@eldelhas yeah that last line was more to myself lol, I wasn't sure I'd make it. thanks for trying it out!
@invixel thanks for the good feedback, I agree with spacing out the crystals. They really were a last minute addition
@gurigraphics that is true. Next time I will start with sound. I thought I'd leave it until the polish stage...but I didn't really get there . Thanks for checking it out.
@mumaitron I'm glad you liked it. I wasted a lot of time figuring out how to do it lol. thanks for checking it out
@sininenblue thanks for checking it out. Yeah I had wanted combos for the sword swipe and a vine monster boss, hopefully I get time management better next time
@nicardo I always seem to forget to make the canvas stretch with screen size. Thanks for persisting.
@brorenata Yeah one of my biggest takeaways is to begin with sound as opposed to leaving it until later, I wont make that mistake again. Thanks for checking it out
@justcamh appreciate all the feedback on the stream and thanks for the link. congrats on a great game too
Took me a while at the end to realise everything was on auto lol. Googd music and look to the game and nice meshing of the input and sound. On this point it would be nice to have a few sections with perhaps just jumps to other platforms and nothing to stop your momentum just so you can enjoy that a little more without interruptions. Overall though nicely executed
It's a shame you weren't able to finish it but here's some feedback on what's there. I like that you added the shooting pushing you back as it adds more depth to gameplay and I can imagine with more loops in there it can be a tactical decision as to whether to shoot or run. I like the whole bobbing look of the game, sells the milk idea and just looks nice. The screen is a little small though I had to zoom in with my browser. Some sloshing sound effects would add to this (rich coming from me as I had zero sound in mine lol) Good job for putting it up. Hopefully you finish it
Very nice polished presentation. Audio is really good and helps with the atmosphere of the game. I did get lost though and wasn't sure which side I was on or what I wasnt doing right. Aside from that, its presented really well especially considering the time limit
Unique take, not what I was expecting at all, movement feels good (especially after the scaffolding) and some nice juice with the pick axe. Audio was pretty fun good job. I did encounter a game breaking bug though. When I took the elevator while he was burping I got stuck on my side as I came out and couldn't move the character anymore
Am I doing something wrong? the game isn't running for me unfortunately. when I click on the exe I get this and it closes quick.
error.png
@apos redownloaded it and it worked just fine. Nice use of effects in this!
Very nice puzzle game. Looks very polished. Nice idea and interpretation of the theme! like @zagganoth it also took me a while to realise the reload looking symbol was the arrow being mentioned. also it wasn't as straightforward, maybe just for me which was a left and right turn. But once I got the hang of it its pretty good and well put together for the time frame. Good job. nice music too
Im not sure if Im doing something wrong but shooting isnt working for me. I like the music track though and the character design
Cool little guy reminds me of ice climber. I think it could benefit from a ledge grab as I found it quite hard to climb the platforms. I like the look and the idea
Seems like you may have a good detective game here but I'm struggling to get to the puzzling bit because of the controls. Particularly the jump not allowing forward momentum. Its a shame though as I was looking forward to seeing what the detective story was all about
I like the intro, a lot of style and atmosphere. The tension building with the guards was nice and leading up to the drawing of the shields to the music was timed well. from there though it lost me. I found the web build worked better for me as there was less audio bugging out. but not sure what was meant to happen as I was stuck at what looked like a boss. Strong start, I'd be interested to play a finished version I could actually move around as the atmosphere seemed strong in this.
I really like the starry background and the glow effect, worked well together. I was going to say the jump is a bit floaty but he is in space lol so it fits. As a suggestion I would perhaps not make a game over with this as its quite tricky in some places and you need to recollect all the abilities again. But overall well done on getting all the abilities in there. not an easy task in a jam period.
That intro music is awesome! Great job, I liked how you worked the pig rage with the music too. If I was to add add anything it would be perhaps a little more instructions about the objective as I was confused at first but got the idea in the end.
Congrats on your first jam. I like the ending sequence, reminded me of Mr Oshiro from Celeste, that was a nice touch. I'd suggest increasing the player gravity a bit and make the jump force stronger to have a snappier jump.
Genuinely fun game. The loop isn't too big, which is nice. Animations are quite good, though would have been nice to have a vertical dash animation as well. Overall easy to jump in and charming graphics make for a nice experience. If I was to add anything, perhaps having her be able to slide underneath the cannon balls even if it means having a long recharge for the slide. perhaps the boss drops a random powerup that could be good or bad and you only find out if you take it...for example triple boomerang, lethal slide. slower movement, no slide...just to shake things up a bit each loop and give a reward for completing a loop. It played well good job
So, I don't seem good enough to get very far. But the jump and movement feel tight. Music is good too. I guess if I were to suggest anything it would be to remove the game over screen. Seems like a game you'd die a lot in, and its discouraging having to wait each time especially when you keep dying almost instantly at the first section. Just respawn the player and in the end you'll probably play a lot more than you had planned to. Bold idea, well done
Nice job on the wall hug, simple and intuitive I liked it. Nice effect with the dash too. Good tempo music. The level transition was pretty nice although a bit janky when you start the new room. couple of things I'd suggest, I got to a room where it was impossible to sneak past. not enough space behind the enemy and wall so perhaps making every room have the ability to be 100% done without being seen. Also when starting a new room once I was immediately seen which felt unfair. Perhaps a safe are right as you start. Other than that though its very fluid, fast and easy to understand. Good job
It was worth getting my headphones out. Great job on the audio and atmosphere. Bit sad it ended at the void I wanted to see more
Day and night cycle is a nice touch, well done on getting that in there. The game has a lot of charm and some good writing. I got stuck and had to restart when I visited the bar and asked for a beer. The woman went off to the tables and I couldnt move
Really solid puzzle design here. Great job! The writing and humour is on point and I think you executed well. Perhaps making the dialogue skippable when repeating (very minor nit pick)/ Great entry
Glad I didn't give up on this game. I struggled with holding Shift and S. Perhaps just S alone would enough? Also didn't realise I was dying because of the key combinations until I came to the comments here. With the beginning out of the way, this is a very good game. I really like the feedback you have on boost and the crash through the barriers as well as the music slowdown and speed up, very nicely done
Very nice graphics in this and an interesting idea. I got stuck though on a platform I slept on that I took a bridge to get to. Maybe Im doing something wrong?
Very clever idea and smart level design! How you managed this for Compo I will never understand. Great job
Very good writing and nice little touches like the notebook bob when you get a note. Sounds would take this to the next level but other than that this is the best written game I've played in the jam. Great job!
I felt like the difficulty was just right on the first few floors but then I think I became over powered. I know the pain of trying to balance during jam time, I can only imagine what that's like on a Compo deadline.
That aside I like the presentation, I like the hit and appear animations of the cubes. Felt smooth the way they rotated into view. Would have been nice to see my progress toward the end floor and perhaps a camera that moves down toward the next floor as well as attack stats..but all that is extra, you've made a nice little experience here and I'm suprised how well the cubes work in this. Nice job
I was looking forward to more and thought the boss battle win was a fake end game message. Your game has some nice charm, I think you should continue, the writing was nice and so was the art, just needed more of it. Good job
I'm not great at typing and I felt the feedback on how good you were or not could've been clearer..but...but...What a unique game!!!
I really like the camera work, trippy art style and all the sounds that tie it all together. If this doesn't score top marks in mood then something went wrong. It gives me black mirror vibes, not sure entirely why but its a compliment for sure. Also you captured the anxiety of public speaking very well, surprisingly well. I loved the experience of your game. Well done, One of my favourites of this jam!
Excellent music in this. It matches well with nice art you have in there. Overall I think I like the feedback in the main mechanic the most, the little flash with screenshake and particles is done really nicely and just as well as you're going to be doing that a lot. Nice small scope and polish very well done
Very nice death animation. Also like the way the game starts. Oddly found it relaxing to begin with. Not sure that was the intention. Good use of lighting and particles too
Haha nice game name. The truck was cool to play around with and I like its sound effects. well done on pivoting and reworking your idea
Nice idea with this. I like the way you handled drilling in, with the sound effect and pause of motion, really nice feedback
The graphics in this really pop. Great job on that. You probably ran out of time but some walls would have been nice to mark the level boundaries and perhaps a win area. But I really like the look of the game, nice touch with the different player face animations too. I wanted to continue exploring when I hit the bounds but I can understand being on your own that's a lot manage to get done. Great job! Ps I really like the enemy character design with the head-like face
Found the little hollow knight guy. Really nice art. Some music and a few sounds would take it to the next level. Nice little experience you made here
Very nice atmosphere in this, and the graphics look great!
@sam-machell I agree I wasn't too happy with the combat either but ran out of time, might've been a smarter plan to just focus on the platforming for the jam as you mentioned. I think I'm going to explore the idea a little more and try to bring the combat to a more satisfying level. Thank you for trying it out.
@the-martijn, @eric-smith, @timeloopedpowergamer, @zeppelingames @jamie-slowgrove @anshul-k I didn't realise the control scheme was difficult, probably because I hardly ever play with the keyboard and didn't consider WASD preference to arrows, I appreciate that you played through it anyway and I'll definitely keep this in mind for next time thanks.
@slowfrog-again, @shin0nome Yeah a bit bummed I didn't managed to get more feedback in there, totally agree on those points. Especially the doors, I wanted a bit more there.
@bidentworks haha I wasn't sure to keep the roll then just forgot to take it out. Glad you found it and liked it though!
@abigailcorfman glad you enjoyed it. @kingslee142 will be happy to hear that about the flower, as she rushed to at least get that in at the end as we were out of time  I handled the drops the same way while testing haha, so I think its fine as there is some risk to doing that so why not reward, @bluedingo made a great suggestion in making it a speedrunner, then that would fit even more  Appreciate you and @bidentworks made it to the end! Thanks for checking it out and the feedback.
@labete @anshul-k thanks @kingslee142 picked out the music from freesound.org.
@mariszin, @brainloaf-studio unfortunately the gems don't do anything :slight_frown: @abigailcorfman you were right the green gems were meant to heal you just didn't get round to it. I thought I'd make the red ones help level up stamina or attack damage.
@zypo @brainloaf-studio considering how many people had trouble with the controls I'm glad I got the checkpoints in too
@saussol @valentine-skachkov @bluedingo @bidentworks @shin0nome @zeppelingames @jamie-slowgrove @brainloaf-studio glad you liked the mechanic, makes the time I spent trying to fix it worth it!
Going to try to get to all your games thanks for the feedback
@fiakaiera Thanks for taking the time to give me all that awesome feedback! Yeah until I read the comments here I hadn't noticed I didn't mention to use the arrow keys at all. Simply stating that in the beginning of the game might've improved the experience for many! I've put it in this description now at least.
Some good insights on the gameplay there, I agree and most of it is just bad time management, Like you mentioned I need to have a better planning system! This always happens to me in jams...or I need to bring the scope even smaller than I already aim for
Thanks for checking it out and getting to the flower! Appreciate the feedback and I'll have a look at your game too
@nbumgardner yeah didn't get around to making the gems useful. Thanks for checking it out, I appreciate the feedback.
@erik-brendel I completely agree on player feedback, I did have camera shake in it at first but switched to unity cinemachine and didn't have time to reimplement it properly. I have actually seen that video. A very good suggestion. I will re-watch before the next jam for sure. Thanks for the feedback.
@doctortm I don't really play games on the PC so keyboard controls are foreign to me. I didn't take into account other keyboard layouts or the popularity if WASD controls either. A lot learnt this jam. Thanks for trying the game.
@joedev yeah it completely slipped my mind to mention arrow keys and I forgot the WASD keys would work with the default implementation of horizontal controls...lesson learned. Im glad you stuck around though. Thanks for the feedback
@klon160 I think going forward I will learn how to allow remapping of controls. Appreciate the feedback thanks.
@marcenat I felt the axe climb and slide mechanic differentiated it a bit, I had other plans for the axe holding mechanic too. such as being able to hit your axe into a rock to pull and drag objects to use to traverse as well as to grip while standing but couldn't get it in within the time. Thanks for checking it out I appreciate the feedback, I'll be taking your advice in preparing a remapping script beforehand thanks ;)
@crucknuk Thank you for the nice feedback. Checkpoints were very last minute, glad I got it in though.
@pawciu Thank you! I wanted to expand a bit more on it but glad you appreciate it.
@alexascher Thank your your feedback. A lot of the level was last minute so not surprised it isn't fully balanced, still glad you had some fun.
@ricna Haha thanks for going to those lengths to play the game! I don't really play on PC, I thought these controls would be fine but I as you can see I was mistaken lol Thanks for checking it out and I'm glad you like it.
@lesinvisible Glad you thought this felt nice, Thanks for checking it out. You're definitely in the minority when it comes to liking the controls it looks like :)
@flashviper Thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you appreciate the mechanic and appreciate you checking this out.
@johannimations Awesome to hear you overcame the controls and enjoyed the experience. You're right about the health, there is no way to get more, green gems were meant to heal you but didn't get that in the game within time. Glad you liked the wall clinging, it took me longer than I would've liked to get it working.
@shadow30 Good suggestions there, I agree with all. Thank you for trying it out.
@felo07 Yeah the I like the music but it was slightly more chilling than I would've liked to be honest. But I guess that's what we get for last minute music hunting. Glad you appreciated the mechanic. Thanks for checking this out.
@100th-coin I know what you mean and glad the checkpoints came in handy. Thank you for checking this out, and for getting to the end, appreciate the compliments.
@brice-mahier Thanks for trying this out all the way to the end and glad you liked the mechanic!
OK I think we got to everybody's game, if @kingslee142 or myself haven't left feedback on your game please let me know and I'll try it out tonight! Thanks again
@chris15686989 thanks I'm thinking of making it a mobile game and you're right,I wish there were more sounds.
@empty-set Thanks, yeah I thought those were needed to reinforce the mechanic too and yeah a few more moves would've definitely improved it
@xatulu considering keyboard layouts and input preferences has been a big take away from this jam for sure. Thanks for playing through that.
@sestren That's good to hear! Movement is always the first thing I focus on. Thanks for checking it out.
@nardandas That sounds like quite the bug. There is one that insta kills you very close to the start of the game but I didn't come across this one. Thanks for the feedback and playing through the bugs!
I think we got to all your games. Thanks again!
Very nice idea, polished quite nicely. Really great audio and nice art as well. I like the constantly changing upgrade options and the simplicity of the idea that was executed very well. Great Job!
So I was quite confused with the buttons in this and kinda guessed my way through the combat,..but..This game has my top marks for atmosphere/mood you just really done a great job on that. I don't gravitate to this art style but I can certainly appreciate that its done very well. The music and writing and voice acting add so much to this. I have no idea how you managed to do all this alone. Awesome work
Hey, for some reason this isn't opening on my system. Running windows 10. I tried both v1 and 1.1. just never opens when I click on the .exe
Nice idea and well done for getting it done in time for Compo. I feel like it would play better if the player was smaller as I struggled to dodge the center platforms. Or maybe even some way to slow the player? That being said it's nice to see a game centered around light as a mechanic and the art was quite good. Well done
When I got to the end I thought I was being tricked again and spent some time trying to find a way out! Good job on this, controlled well and the puzzles were satisfying. You got a decent amount in there too, especially for one person! Congrats
Simple clean design. I think you could've streamlined it even more by removing the need to press z and just have the digging in the direction you're going automatic. The art is great and the animations are really well done! I got 95 levels deep! overall very clean and polished entry well done
Nice game, it was nice to set up a roll by mining the rocks further ahead before mining the rock directly beneath me to roll in the intended direction. Adding more ways to affect direction without full control might be a good area to look at to expand
I feel like the character was a little floaty and the footstep sound seemed a little loud for such a tiny dude. I liked the art, especially at the end it has some nice charm
I found the player would stick a little to walls, perhaps reducing the friction or changing the collider would help? Some little glitches here and there that I'm sure with more time you would've ironed out. That being said I did finish it, that is give all the fish and go back up and the screen goes black. Maybe a "you win" text? Thats what I done as I ran out of time in mine. Your game is packed with charm, from the artwork to the story to the funky music, would like to see this with more polished movement, and just to see if that octopus actually sticks to its word. I'll be happy to give it another go if you take it further
Nice idea that suits the theme well, could use some adjustments to the camera to improve the experience, but nice clear game loop
Very unique idea. I really like the humour in this, and the game is quite fun too. Only wish there were more levels. Good job
interesting idea with having it risky to shoot as opposed to just dodge
Congrats on your first jam. I liked the well laid out instructions you added, it's usually very hard to get that in a jam, especially your first. I was wishing to have like a little boost ability to speed up the drill, perhaps a feature to add? The rock enemy looks too friendly to be an enemy and he spawned directly on me a couple of times, sop perhaps tweaking how the enemies are laid out? Overall well done on getting a complete game experience on your first go, I like the enemy ideas too. As the others have mentioned I think it would play a lot better with more speed. Keep it up
Well done on getting achievements in there, that's not something I've seen often in Jams. Looks like you ran out of time as when I went deeper there weren't any fish. I like the dimming of the water to show you're going into the depths. cool start to a game, hopefully you get to add all the things you wanted to
Very original idea. I like the voice work too, especially good on the intro, nice way to pull someone in quick
Great looking game, from the models to the animation and colour choices great job. I like that you didn't try to cram too many things into the game and instead could focus on polishing the main mechanic of the game!
Nice visuals and really good music in this! They fit together quite nicely. The gameplay has some good moments and some that feel a little bit too hard but overall its a good quality entry
I think there's a good base to this. Adding even just a few more elements to the gameplay would improve it quite a bit, but I understand jam deadlines aren't that accommodating. The audio and atmosphere in this is really good and suits the mood realllyl well. Good job
Really great writing here and mood. I really like the mechanic of perceiving things differently adds a whole lot more depth to the game and is very unique. I'm glad some music kicked in as at first I thought that there wasn't any. Perhaps some sound effects for some of the items would be a good inclusion if you take it further? Overall very cool idea well executed!
I think you could've really used some sound. Especially with your intro, which I really like - the zoom into the well then orienting yourself before having the axe come into view felt good. I had some trouble with the hitboxes at first but got the hang of it in the end and got through all 3 levels. Good use of colours btw One thing I thought might happen was that the gravity would change and I would be mining on the adjacent walls as I could see gems on them, I think that could make a cool twist on the "Levels" just being different walls you fall onto. Well done for getting this all in on your own.
Nice graphics, cool colour choices too. Feels very polished and easy to understand. Great job
I like the premise! The art is also amazing. I think the gameplay could use a little more feedback perhaps? Well done though on getting something this polished
Very clean entry well done. The jumps felt great and so did the feedback on the landing. I think it would help having a jump off of the rope and an instant restart, other than that awesome job!
I like the mechanic, I feel the cooldown might be a little to long, but other than that the snappy dashes and quick transition on death keep the game speedy. Good job on this
I love the shifty eye animation, nice twist on that pac-man style gameplay, and very good intro in the beginning as well. Would've liked to see more but what was there was fun and funny. Good job!
I love the atmosphere and style to this game, great job
Very nicely polished game, I like the additions to the gameplay, like the spiked object and the disappearing floor sections. I had a hard time getting past the levels but that's probably because I've always been bad at these types of games. The graphics are really nice and the lighting seems just right, the music also goes well with the tone. Good job!
That's a unique idea! Took me a while to figure things out and I found myself only using spell 3 and I managed to win  The voice sound effects were awesome, from the chug of the train to the voiceover to the impact sounds great job! Would like to see a slow down time effect if you continue this
Nice animation on the character, and its satisfying to break through walls, I think I couldn't get up one of the ceilings though. Perhaps something else should be introduced to the "find something and progress loop" to keep it engaging throughout? Regardless good entry and well done for getting that all in
Well done on getting all this done in Jam time. The UI is done really well, I like all the little animations and everything is clear and easy to understand. I like the text at the bottom that narrates the battle that was a nice touch. Overall a very ambitious and polished entry nice job
Really nice art in this, I like the the movement to it all. The brewing mini game is pretty cool and well executed. Having the cat kind of guide you was also a cool idea, though it would've been nice to know the basement door was now open without having to consult the cat lol Overall a very nice an polished entry. Well done
Excellent entry, everything from the clearly explained controls, to the feel to the exploration of the mechanic. One of my favourites in this Jam. Really clever level design , I have no idea how you done this in 72 hours..let alone how you done it solo! Really impressed, Great Job!
This game has a great atmosphere, awesome art and unique movement mechanic well done. Initially I really suffered trying to move in zero gravity. It took me a while but when I tried clicking further away from the character then it worked well. Something about clicking nearer the character gave unintended results. After I figured that out I really got to enjoy it. This game reminded me a bit of "The Way" with the music and aesthetics, and I really enjoyed that game. Would have been nice to see more, especially after that ending but I know how it is with time and jams. Great job
Do you have a windows link, I didn't see a download option on your itch link? I can't seem to get it to run properly in Chrome or Edge. From the choppy bit I did see though it looks pretty good. Perhaps the Windows build will play nicer with my setup?
Cool concept. I really like the look of the brewing potion animation. I did get into a sort of flow state just trying to spot the potion running out quickest while dragging so goo job on that. Cool looking cat, would've been nice if you had more time to get the cat react to the gameplay
I really like the style of the game, everything from the colours to the character designs. I struggled to figure it out though and would've loved a tutorial of some sort. If you update this with instructions please let me know. Also some of the UI items weren't in full view, perhaps I missed something on the edges
Cool idea, would've loved to see more, but I completely understand with jam times, especially compo. You sounded a lot like Cortana when delivering the line "We still have one last human.." I got the good ending and the bad. No idea how to get the 3rd one. It was fun, I'd play more if you ever make more levels with higher difficulties too
I like how the gravity changes how you approach the level, and I like the look of the game. For improvements I'd make the player collider have a frictionless Capsule collider with a tiny circle collider below with friction to help the player not stick to walls but still have friction on ground (a little fiddly to size them right though)
Great interpretation of the theme, that's quite an original idea! Nice punchy sounds and really satisfying pot smashing. I think it could use a little more of a gradual pacing to it, but other than that it was a nice experience with cool mechanics. Well done!
@bassguitarbill @bora-cun @onesmallboy @ma-in @eptwalabha
Thank you! Really glad you appreciated the art. @kingslee142 had to juggle a few things during the jam and still managed to get the art done surprisingly. @eptwalabha I'm contemplating porting it to mobile and adding more levels and polish but I'm not entirely sure yet.
I've tried out all your games and left some feedback, thanks for checking this out!
@devundead Yeah there was still a little jank in the game, Would’ve liked to have cleaned it all up. Thanks for checking it out. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too.
@kyrell it was kingslee142 that decided to go with this setting, I think it worked out well. Thanks for checking it out. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too.
@bqq I think we ran into each other in a stream, you found an alternative solution! I’m glad you enjoyed it and stuck through that last level. Appreciate the compliments and feedback, I agree I would make the last level a little clearer by removing the smaller platforms. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too.
@elmismopancho That's really good to hear. I'm contemplating making this a mobile game but not sure yet. Thanks for checking it out. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too
@hammerfrenzy Thanks for trying it. Yeah a more creative way of resetting early might be a good idea. For now pressing r will restart the level. I've only listed this in the description however, perhaps it would be better in game. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too
@cromo Yeah the platforms were a little unintentionally unstable lol and you're right I wish I had more time to add more juice to the game. Appreciate you checking it out. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too
@ryanjavanshir Glad you thought the tutorial was well paced, they can be tricky at times. Thanks for your feedback! We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too
@dev-dennis Yeah some players did find it challenging at the beginning and most definitely did at the end! A little more balancing would've helped this if I had the time. Appreciate you trying it out. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too
@yotamco Really happy you enjoyed the game! Im also really glad you figured out that last level and stuck with it! I know it wasn't easy. Appreciate your feedback. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too.
@greenxenith I hadn't heard of Guardian Rock before but I can see the similarities, even the setting of a jungle temple! Thanks for showing me. Appreciate the feedback. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too.
@fenno-boomgaarden Wow thank you for the awesome compliment, I really appreciate it. You have a pretty cool game yourself!...pun intended lol. Happy to hear you managed to get past the last level, it was a bit more challenging than intended. We managed to play quite a few games since your comment and I'm glad we will get a rating. Thanks for the feedback. I left you some feedback too
@python-b5 I think it has something to do with me adding forces as opposed to changing velocity directly. Thanks for letting me know and for the feedback. We’ve tried your game and left some feedback too.
@mateu Happy to hear you liked the game. Its a shame it bugged out on you. There was a bug in that last switch that could be activated by the player. Appreciate you checking it out. We've tried your game and left some feedback too.
@leokrechmer Thank you for checking this out and for the stream. It wasn't just you, unfortunately and unintentionally I've tortured a few streamers with this game lol The feedback is really appreciated and it was great to be able to see you play through it. We tried your game and left some feedback too.
@xeke-death Had a fun time watching you come up with a "creative solution" to that last level lol I also really appreciate you taking the time to try it again and all the great feedback on your stream. We tried your game and left some feedback too.
@ladymistleaf Thank you very much for the feedback and for the stream! You're one of the few people to finish that last level not only that quick but also as I has intended and without a single hint! (So far there's been 4 ways found to clear it!) We played your game and left some feedback too.
@ollieoa I really appreciate you/your partner trying this out on stream and for the feedback, no better way to learn then when watching others play your game! I tried your game too and left some feedback.
@onesmallboy that level was definitely too much too soon, as is evident by some of the streams and other comments, you're not the only one to find it difficult, but I appreciate you giving it a go though and for the compliments. We've played your game and left some feedback too.
@itzemii I have to agree the charge up move is a little stiff, with more time I'd definitely polish that up first. Thank you for the compliments and for trying this. We played your game and left some feedback too.
@joror Appreciate the nice comments, I'm glad you had a good time with it! Makes the time spent on it worth it. We tried your game too and left some feedback.
@soul-grinder that's nice to here! I worked on those platforms for quite a bit and they were also the cause of many bugs so its great to hear at least in your playthrough it was good lol Thanks for checking it out! We played your game too and left some feedback.
@bloodycoin Wow thanks for the great compliments. if anything reminds you even in the most microscopic of ways of Zelda then I can pack up and go..my job is done here lol I've never heard of Alundra before but I'm going to have to check it out now looks pretty good. Boss battles is a great idea. I'm considering making a bunch of levels and polishing this, if so boss battles will be on the agenda thanks for your feedback. We played your game too and left some feedback
@alexthehuman2 Thanks again for your feedback and for playing this on your stream! I'm glad the quick restart solved the bugs for you and that you made it through to the end. We played your game too and left some feedback
@elysiagriffin Thank you for playing this on your stream and for soldiering on as much as you did with all that pressure, really appreciate that and all the useful feedback you gave. We played your game and left some feedback too.
@gurbx Thanks for checking it out! Really appreciate the feedback and I agree I think there is more that could be done with more time to play around with it. We played your game too and left some feedback
@marcadia The platform physics were a little challenging and could use some tweaking for sure, thanks for checking it out. We tried your game and left some feedback too.
@shea-kelly Happy to get the thumbs up, thanks for the feedback! We played your game and left some feedback too.
@yikescloud Yep that last level did get quite a few people. Thanks for the compliment on the art by @kingslee142, were both big fans of your art! Thanks for the feedback, we played and left you some feedback too.
@balduin Thanks for checking it out and the compliments! Glad you liked the idea. We played your game too and left some feedback
@r3l0ad1 Thanks for the feedback, you have a pretty polished entry yourself! We played your game and left some feedback too
@togis Thanks so much for the great feedback and for playing our game on your stream! I played and left feedback for your game too
@fabula-rasa Thank you for the great feedback! Yeah a few people did find it tricky and some suggested removing timers entirely so you're not alone there . I enjoyed your game too!
Very nice game, the graphics are outstanding, awesome job! I really like that tutorial area with the jukebox, very clever to include this as I was ready for the pigs when the time was right, I love the physics of the pizza boxes you done really well on that. The sound effects were good and another smart choice to use 3d sound introduced with the jukebox but more importantly used to know when the opposite pig isn't fed enough. I would play a full adventure in this world if you decide to go ahead with it and expand it ( a metroidvania in this style would be awesome)
@yikescloud awesome I've just followed you. Good luck
This feels very polished for a jam game. It has similar gameplay to Overcooked, and I like that game so I had a good time. The artwork was also nice and the animations worked well. good job
So I tried this yesterday and kept dying and couldn't make it past the second level. But I really wanted to finish this as I like the mechanic. I hopped on today a little more fresh and to my surprise I went through the first 2 levels without a single death. I think once you get the timing of this it sticks. I went on to finish it! Congrats Fenno, Benjamin, Minor Seven and Chillertyp on a good take on this theme.
In terms of what I would improve if you continue development on this, besides checkpoints as others have mentioned is that I'd make the jumps more consistent mainly. I found I could get a better jump if I made sure I was holding forward before I pressed jump. if I tried to jump and then move I would sometimes have a lower jump, and that was particularly punishing on the falling platforms. Also Jumps on the branches seem to vary not sure if there was a specific way I was meant to jump on them?
There were a lot of nice little touches on this, The main menu and death scene were quite nice and the music change was pretty good. Starting of the level with a nice pan of where to go was also pretty helpful. Stretch and squash animation was great, liked the blinking head and the pipe smoke snowflakes. Some cool ideas with the level design, hitting the head up the tree and dashing forward to catch it was cool.
Overall I had a good time playing, nice job!
This game has so much character, I was always looking forward to the end level cutscenes as they were hilarious. I thought perhaps the sound bugged out on the web build so I tried the windows version too. I understand having time constraints and working on your own probably stopped you from adding sound but that would've added quite a bit to this. Regardless I had fun with this. Good job
Very nice atmosphere to to this game. Reminds me of the Polybius mystery
This was pretty short but even in that time you managed to make this pretty creepy. Top marks for mood for sure. I liked the almost negative photo look of the game and thought it went well with the vibe. Really wanted to see what the story was about so well done on creating some intrigue. Well done!
Nice little game I see you had to pivot because of time but I see what you were going for. The music and visuals go very well with each other and I'd be interested to play a full version of this if you do make one
Well you had me leaning forward, wondering what was going on and engaged the entire time. Nice job! Serious talent in this entry. Everything runs well and the art is great. Well done on such a polished entry!
I couldn't figure out getting the power to the pump. I turned the valve in the other room and thought that would do it. Its good start to a game. I like the abandoned offices, reminding me of Portal a little and I like the little sticky notes you have across the level
Nail man proved a little too tough for my skills even after multiple tries. Perhaps starting with an easier boss would be a good way to give me a chance to get used to the controls. In saying that though the character did move well and I liked the art and music choice as well as the little cutscene at the start. Nail man also seems like a well designed boss, just a little tough at the start. Keep it up
Nice idea, reminded me of Hunter Hunted, a game I used to play a long time back in which you're trying to escape a minotaur. I think it would work better if you could dumb down the minotaur A.I. a little so he doesn't always take the shortest route to you. Perhaps also having the dialogue auto skip on restart. I like having the recharging push ability but found I couldn't use it more than once, as when I pick up the gem I am unable to use it...perhaps being able to put the gem down?
The music worked well and I like how it adapted! Going back and forth in the same area helped to familiarise the map too. I find the flare an interesting ability I think if you could throw it over walls it would have a lot more potential.
Overall though good job on getting all of this in, you managed to wrap it up neatly.
P.S sound didn't work the first time around, I had to go back and try again after reading the comments. No idea why
I like the art style of this and the music, while initially I thought the music wasn't right it did grown on me and worked. Also very good job on that intro it was pretty dramatic and a nice way to start the game. It would have been good if you could explore the balancing aspect a little more as I thought this was in interesting addition as well as having other challenges to the colony before the end, It was relatively easy enough for me to get through to the end, I know how difficult balancing can be in jam time and you have quite a few variables to consider there. I think its a cool idea that with a little more time could be great
Cool idea, I had a similar thought initially about the theme and was thinking of Hans's Table lol I think some sound would be nice and an idea of what food is ready or how much longer it will be, also some of the UI was covering the items. It's pretty frantic, I think with some balancing and polish it could be great. Perhaps taking inspiration from Overcooked how they have feedback for cooking items and such might add to this. I has fun until I had one too many tomatoes thrown at me lol
Trippy experience with some nice cutscenes. I wasn't entirely sure what I was meant to do or if there was an order of items to find. But it was nice to unlock some of the cutscenes. One suggestion would be to lower the volume for the alarm
Nice level design and good music. The music loop actually ended right as I was at the Helicopter, not sure if you planned that but it worked well
This is very nicely made. I like the bugs and error theme throughout. The voice acting was a nice addition too. The player moves well when I don't mess up lol. I think I missed something though, I got up to a wall and couldn't get past...right past the fast moving red error icon that killed me 20 times lol had to do some gymnastics with my fingers lol nice idea
I really enjoyed this! The increase in difficulty felt perfect, well done on that level design. What a good use of atmospheric sounds, it really made the world come alive. The art was really well done too. Overall a very fun and weirdly charming game. Great job
I like the character designs, very creative
Hey I really wanted to try your game as you've tried mine but I couldn't get it going even after installing Core. is there an easier way of playing this?
Nice game, the sound effects really add a lot to it! Reminded me of the Earthworm Jim sfx if you've played that
Very nice game, The bike controls and physics are really nice. Found the best way for me to play was a combination of arrows and WASD. I couldn't get past the construction level unfortunately so not sure how the story pans out but that's a nice addition to the game and reward for progress. Well done
Nice little game, and the art worked surprisingly well! An addition if you continue it further could be to encourage a gamble..i.e. if you travel x amount of meters between flares you get some xp you can use to upgrade something, to tempt the player out of playing it too safe. Cool concept
Good concept, I liked hunting down the green guys as soon as I could! Perhaps some obstacles could add to the difficulty, or perhaps a counter of how many enemies left to try to get them all. A good idea
I like the art style setting and the humor, great job. 34 enemies killed is not even good?! Cool mix of 2D and 3D. Maybe it would have been good to make the weapon choice more random? I think it started in the same sequence for me in each replay...but maybe that's good for strategy? I'm not sure, either way its a nice entry.
One of the more original ideas of the Jam, well done! A little confusing to begin with but a very fun and interesting game!
I like that you got the sounds in there, would've been nice to have clearer impact sounds, also struggled a bit with the camera, that aside it feels pretty polished and I like the art style and the setting.
I'm not sure I understood where the theme came in but I can say I loved the art and the world and mood of the game. I got all 8 sheep, do they move? Because I swear the last one took a long time to find!
