not a bad game but the controls are wonky, got stuck a couple of times trying to turn one way then having to turn the other way to move.. music placement is also funny, I could only hear it when looking at the pool table, when I'm expecting to hear it coming from the giant speaker..

eptwalabha 2020-10-06 21:23

@anrqangel Yeah, I messed up with the control at the last minute and I think I broke something for QWERTY keyboard :s Sorry for that, I'll try to fix that later… thanks for playing.

2020-10-06 22:01

I'm stupid and it took me like 30 seconds to realize there wasn't a bottom to the stairs. It's an interesting enough idea, but unless I missed something, there didn't seem like much to do. Also, it's really hard to see.

edomiyamoto 2020-10-06 22:08

Hey good job ! Dig the story (until the end?), a bit of "puzzle" thinking, music fits. Just a thing to do for the camera who moves a bit much, but it was playable (played the html5 version) You improved a lot since the first jam !

bellringerquinn 2020-10-06 22:10

I think I lost my mind ;) I did have some troubles with turning. My mouse was appearing on the screen and once it got to the edge of the screen it wouldn't go any further and I could no longer turn around.

szabe 2020-10-06 22:11

Yeah, controls are really frustrating, but otherwise Nice little concept and game, impressive that you could finish this in a weekend.

denzil-gomes 2020-10-06 22:11

Well nailed the theme lol but is there a way to actually get to the bar?

midorimelody 2020-10-06 22:12

I kept looping around. Really cool concept

eptwalabha 2020-10-06 22:21

@denzil-gomes yes, it's further down the building… sometime up is down ;)

eptwalabha 2020-10-06 22:26

@edomiyamoto, @bellringerquinn, @szabe yeah sorry for the poor controls… for some reason, the mouse capture does not really work on browser. I'll try to find a solution. I put desktop versions of the game in the description that don't have this issue.

Thanks for your feedback, they're really appreciate.

edit: I patched the game and add a button to force the browser to capture the mouse.

nodli 2020-10-06 22:32

The game is a bit strange and the mouse controls are hard but you nailed the theme. The models are great but you really need some kind of shadows so that the players can understand how the space is organized. Good concept !

lanalux 2020-10-07 00:38

Really cool concept to loop the apartment. I couldn't figure out what to do once I left my place. Would love to see more! :)

arron-fowler 2020-10-08 08:08

Same as above in the most part. The mouse thang got in the way of the enjoyment. I liked the art

eptwalabha 2020-10-08 08:36

@arron-fowler , do you still have the mouse problem? I thought I patched it yesterday… If so, sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your feedback.

arron-fowler 2020-10-08 09:22

@eptwalabha I played it an hour and a half ago. It would get to the screen edge and that would be my maximum range.

arad-hamidsamiee 2020-10-08 09:35

Allways happy to see more godot users. the game needs lots of visual polishing, charcter design is unique, animations are good and I believe you've put a lot of effort in the narration. Good Loops and all. some faces are back culled (which might have happened due to creating models in blender) Well done

eptwalabha 2020-10-08 10:50

@arron-fowler , I updated it 12h ago, so you have played the patched version. Did you click on the button (top center of the screen) that says «Hide mouse»? If you don't the browser won't capture your pointer.

eptwalabha 2020-10-08 10:58

@arad-hamidsamiee , Yay for Godot! I could not agree more with you about the visual… it's not really great lol… But don't worry, I'm currently working on improving the game with better lighting (and SSAOI). If you want to check it out, I made it available on github on a `post-ld` branch. Thanks you for your feedback.

eptwalabha 2020-10-08 10:59

Also if anyone's interested, I can provide a link to download the blender file with all the models/animations.

arad-hamidsamiee 2020-10-08 11:03

@eptwalabha Thanks for sharing the source. I will definitely check it out.

arron-fowler 2020-10-08 11:28

@eptwalabha no I didn't that might be worth clarification. I left it on to try and work out what was going on

phindiegames 2020-10-09 21:22

Very cool! Didn't expect this. One thing that had me puzzled at first though is that the stairwell window does not change (I think? I didn't notice it). At first I was going up/down checking mostly through that window. I did check twice through the place where you do see progress, but was unfortunate to do so when I had actually not moved (moved up as much as down). This threw me off and had me stuck in the stairwell for a while (walking backwards to see if that helps etc.). I liked the ending.

pseudonclide 2020-10-09 21:23

Nice game! You managed to put a lot of content while perfectly fitting the theme! Good job :)

gurigraphics 2020-10-09 21:58

I drank all and overturned with my friend. hehe Best narrative. Good job

davidcmcdonald 2020-10-10 02:27

Honestly, how the hell did you get so much done! well done, your game has so much charm, weird as hell but charm. I really did not expect this. I left feeling like I had only scratched the surface, as I feel as though there must be tiny easter eggs and secrets. When we hit the hospital I was like..... no way! honestly impressive. Well done.

spawncampgames 2020-10-10 14:28

At first I thought, damn, this is a big house! I see others talking about other places in the game And I don't know if Im being trolled or just stupid.. as I didn't make it out of the house. :frowning:

eptwalabha 2020-10-10 14:37

@spawncampgames , you have to look at your flat's window (not the one on the corridor) at different level to understand where to go.

elliottd 2020-10-10 20:39

I found your game maddening and silly and liked it a lot. I liked the opportunity to contemplate while descending infinite (?) stairs.

vphyre 2020-10-11 03:24

Interesting the scenery, and the graphics in general. Also very cool your interpretation of the theme. Congratulations.

dark-prince-zen 2020-10-11 07:47

A surprise packet of a game if you ask me. The infinite stairs threw me at first, thinking it was going to be a troll game but once I went to the window it grew on me from there. Few little visual things and quick cuts to the next scene got me a few times but apart from that a very solid game with lots of content. Very fitting to the theme and great little narrative. Nice job.

raivk 2020-10-12 14:14

Really nice use of the theme. Got surprised by the story !

ommadawn 2020-10-13 08:07

Wow. Really nice -and complete- game. The story suits well the theme, aswell as the gameplay of course. At first I didn't like the unlit 3D but quickly I found it good for this universe  :beers:

jk5000 2020-10-15 08:43

This is overall an interesting little game. I liked the story, but I kinda wished it was voice acted.

eptwalabha 2020-10-15 11:08

@jk5000 trust me… I don't think you want to ear my accent

jk5000 2020-10-15 11:24

The worse it is, the more I want to hear it.

gamescodedogs 2020-10-19 10:50

Weird game, but in a good way :)

jonathan-lorenz 2020-10-24 12:12

Usually not a big fan of narative games but this one got me hooked and I didn't regret giving it a try! I liked the minimalist graphics and the mood of the game. Also liked the plot twist! I got stuck after going back to my appartement but I enjoyed the experience. Congratulation, great work!
