LD35 — Shapeshift

Shape Attack by end3r 2016-04-21T21:39:00

Nice, simple and clean.
Controls with the arrows is a good idea but the corresponding shapes should be displayed somewhere on screen once the player start using them (around the central shape with low alpha maybe?).
I liked it.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Slipper Man by HawkSandwich 2017-08-04T19:00:35Z

I tried everything I could think of, but I was not even able to get the first battery.

Orbital Rescue by sanojian 2017-08-01T22:21:17Z

This game is rather difficult, but fun to play. I really need to train with that planet-grappling though.

Jetpack June and the Tower of Power by geeitsomelaldy 2017-08-03T19:30:03Z

Even if I give up (for now... damn spikes!), I have to admit that this one is my favorite so far. Very nice game.

Battery by BoltKey 2017-08-06T15:35:41Z

It reminds me "curiosity" of Peter Molyneux... exept here you don't have to do anything... at all

Good concept though I give this game a idle/10

Power Knight by thomz12 2017-08-06T16:25:11Z

Nice game! Fast gameplay, awesome graphics, clear tutorial, that one is a gem. Well done.

Fully Powered: Enough power to save the world by Pete 2017-08-06T15:30:16Z

I enjoyed this game a lot, and I wonder why it hasn't got more ratings.

Positives: - I love the idea of displaying directly health on the entities. - The blend 2D/3D is great - Two players - Graphics are nice

Negative: - The controls on slopes are weird

Nice game, good job

LOW BATT by simonhutchinson 2017-08-05T09:59:07Z

Nice game and nice concept, it fits very nicely with the theme. The music is awesome and reminds me of Bit trip runner. I only played the Linux version, (so I speak only for this one), and I which the game asked me if I would like to play again instead of just shutting down. Once again this is a very nice game, good job.

Robogod by multiplexor 2017-08-06T14:10:28Z

This game needs more rating. Very unique take on the "running out of power" theme. Very nice game, well done.

Classic Games: Getting On by loveapplegames 2017-08-05T10:05:19Z

Wow! three for the price of one? Well done, I barely finished mine... I like this game(s).

Zombie2: Electric Boogaloo by LexiChan 2017-08-04T18:58:44Z

Sorry, I miss post...

No Sorcerer's Sky by TheFlyingKeyboard 2017-08-03T18:56:27Z

Nice game... but an in-game tutorial would be great.

pros: - nice graphics - relaxing music - spaaaaaaaace

cons: - Meteors and planes are thrown at the player too soon in my opinion - To click on the main building to know what are your resources is annoying (especially when you trying to buy)

Good job.

Power or die by Aterlamia 2017-08-06T13:38:12Z

Nice game.

But if you build two miners before the amount of coal reaches 1, then the rest of the tutorial won't trigger and you're doomed to fail.

This is very impressive for a game made in two days. The music isn't annoying and the dialogs clearly explain what to do and why.

I enjoyed this game. Well done.

Charge! by dragonxvi 2017-08-04T21:25:23Z

Glade to give you your 20th rating, you really deserved it with this game.

Nice work :)

daemon by bombjack 2017-08-06T09:48:57Z

Nice game, but my review will be only on the first part of the game as I didn't pass the first level.

positives: - graphics/art style are awesome - background music fits perfectly with the mood - Html version (I like to point it out as well)

negatives: - the jump mechanic is a bit clonky - too few souls at the beginning and no cooldown between two hits

I think the difficulty comes from the controls and the camera, not the level design. Instead of letting the player constantly jump, I suggest you should force the player to release the jump button before the next one. That way the wall jump mechanic would be more friendly.

I keep in mind you only had three days so that's a great game for that time span. Good job.

In Battery We Trust by PGDevPatryk 2017-08-04T21:57:16Z

Nice game, the ambiance/music fits nicely with this type of game, but I have to agree with @harusame , you need to add more feedbacks: - creeps making little noises when nearby or growling when chasing you down - the gun could lit all the room for an instant (it also needs sounds) - when picking up items, try to have a visual indicator on what they do. But I keep in mind you made this in three days ;)

Overall, the game is very good. Well done.

Scale of Life by ilya_kozlov 2017-08-01T18:04:06Z

Nice and simple little game there. I played the browser's version and the height of your game is way too big for my crappy display's resolution. anyway good work.

The Last Question by Terribly Awesome Games 2017-08-01T18:41:19Z

Nice experience! I got in the mood right away, the work made on the art & audio is terrific. Very interesting game.

Forgetting Things by player2point0 2017-08-04T21:43:11Z

Nice game mechanic. The "dialogs" really made me laugh sometime. Good job.

Powerless Miner by MajamiLTU 2017-08-06T13:20:43Z

Very nice game, clean and very well crafted. Well done.

Game Rover by bruins 2017-08-03T19:47:10Z

That was a very nice game, nice graphics and music. The jump is maybe a bit too slow, but I guess this is Mars. Too bad there isn't a lot of levels, but I am not complaining, what you have done in three days is amazing. Good job to you.

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-04T21:18:48Z

Nice game, you should put a text at the beginning (at least the controls) to guide the player about what to do... I stood and died like an idiot on my first play because I thought I was in a sort of cut-scene. The graphics are nice, but the player looks a bit like all the other devices. Once again, nice game and good job.

Mechanic Monkey Madness by CMilby 2017-08-06T13:11:01Z

Same as @aterlamia the folder is missing for the linux build.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Not candy crush by eptwalabha 2017-12-07T21:23:30Z

@gistnoesis, yeah this is what inspires me ^^ for those who wonder, [great reading here](http://ncase.me/polygons/).

Not candy crush by eptwalabha 2017-12-08T00:35:54Z

@notpresident35 this is the correct submission page… it's the link on the **post ludum-dare**'s section that you should not use to rate me…

Not candy crush by eptwalabha 2017-12-08T00:37:50Z

Ha indeed… what I wrote is confusing… I'am changing it now… sorry.

Not candy crush by eptwalabha 2017-12-08T00:42:08Z

@notpresident35 ha ha no problem, my sentence was very misleading.

Gold Elixir by brgarnet17 2017-12-07T20:54:16Z

Nice game. You should put a graphic showing health and poison progression over time to help the player better assess the situation. This was nice nonetheless, good job.

They Evolve by Tom01098 2017-12-06T00:29:50Z

Nice game… but as mentioned in a previous comment the hit boxes are a bit weird. Also our character is constantly pointing left, which means you need to run onto enemies coming from your right if you want to hit them.

Sweet Game by Jetro 2017-12-06T19:02:56Z

Nice, it'd be be nice to control the shaker with the keyboard though. Good job.

Make Ludum Dare Great Again by ultimategrinder 2017-12-06T00:33:36Z

Nice game very fitting.

Knights and Kings by Chaosinism 2017-12-07T23:43:41Z

Ha ha ha… so bishops can destroy a king with a low kick? Nice take on chess, the real time element needs more restrictions though. At the end, the only effective strategy I found was to only play king… and dodge like crazy. Congratulation on your entry.

Cowardland by martincho 2017-12-06T19:30:48Z

You should add some sort of objective to make the crossing worthy. *example*: after a certain number of villagers, I win the ability to break a stone or throw a villager… As @jeremy-wolf mentioned, the snapping mechanism is a bit broken. the bridge collapsed with only me on it (and no stone). Nice game nonetheless.

Deckest Dungeon by huminaboz 2017-12-07T23:13:29Z

This is a very beautiful game. The selection of the cards seems a bit buggy though. Very good LD entry. Congratulation to you.

Chuckles, the Word Juggler by SecretPocketCat 2017-12-07T23:34:45Z

Nice concept. I wish the game would just play a buzz sound when miss-typing a letter, that would be a better feedback than just changing text color to black. Congratulation on your entry.

Rush Garden by Andreas Express 2017-12-06T19:13:48Z

The game over is a bit brutal, but nice game nonetheless. Good job.

Programmer Art by CobaltRisen 2017-12-06T18:49:41Z

Nice, my robot doesn't look like one… Good job

Animal Jam by Eremiell 2017-12-06T19:01:58Z

Nice, it'd be be nice to control the shaker with the keyboard though. Good job.

Cup-O-Matic by Masadow 2017-12-07T00:37:39Z

My fingers hurts… This is great. I really enjoyed playing your game. Good job and congratulation.

Stand your ground by GistNoesis 2017-12-07T21:55:21Z

Nice game. As someone mentioned in the comment, you should put a assistance to guide the player's aiming (an arrow or [a 3D dashed path](https://threejs.org/examples/webgl_lines_dashed.html)). Static perspective cameras are not the best to appreciate distances and directions. It was fun nonetheless. Congratulation on your submission.

SLIMES SHOOTING SLIMES by Traxdata 2017-12-07T21:07:13Z

Same as @mr-matt never-ending zoom-out, I think this is because you try to keep all the slimes inside the viewport... but one slime is falling to infinity and the stage is locked on the bottom-left of the screen. I want to say that of all the linux games I've tried yours is the only one I managed to start. So bonus point for that ;) The graphics are nice, the music is decent. Congratulation on your submission.

Kittie Reaper: A Depressed Cat Tale by jfraser314 2017-12-07T22:32:31Z

Those damn pigs… Anyway, this is a very nice game you've made. Congratulation to you and your team of students.

War of Wizardry by abrexas 2017-12-06T18:33:10Z

Nice game, even if sometime the red wizard just wanders off the tower. When you die, the game reboot but the music of the previous run does not stop. This gets really annoying after a while. Anyway, this was nice. good job.

Lost Orbs by Masthiks 2017-12-06T19:57:55Z

I couldn't find my way to lvl4… so I gave up… but only because the walking sound is too annoying. The game is nice though, Good job.

Spun Runner by Kittywoods 2017-12-07T20:45:20Z

Hey! This is a decent game. Even if I stumbled upon a few bugs (the teleportation out of bound mentioned by @yacuzi), I had a good time playing it. In my opinion, the wall jump mechanic is a bit broken, you should freeze the player as soon as he touches the wall and gradually increase gravity over time. Anyway, I keep in mind that you did that under three days, so good job on your submission.

Goodnight Sheep by littlecloudflower 2017-12-06T00:05:41Z

Not my kind of game or experience, though I understand how your game fits the theme. I did enjoy the relaxing music. Good job.

FLĂ…TPAK by DaleP 2017-12-06T19:39:55Z

Ha ha, I am so lousy with this controls. Total: $1568 and 78% efficiency. Nice game.

Phool by ciaccodavide 2017-12-08T19:32:57Z

I love your game. The persistent bonuses make your next runs a bit to easy, but I guess that's why you put a reset button… Very nice submission.

Achterhoek simulator by Bariladan 2017-12-06T18:41:44Z

Ha ha, that night sky… it's perfect! Good job.

Escape Infection! by 11tomi12 2017-12-06T21:19:41Z

Nice game. I wish there were more cell types, but I enjoyed the game nonetheless. Good job.

Don Ragazzone by jatvarthur 2017-12-06T20:24:55Z

Wow… this was good. That game is very nice, good job.

Kiwi is the Key by JuanCarlosGdM 2017-12-06T18:22:34Z

Never played like this before. It's very nice. I wonder if this is possible to auto-detect the keyboard's layout of the player? Good job.

Extreme Dentist by Duncan74 2017-12-05T23:52:16Z

Lol… why not? It was pointless but fun.

Addiction Simulator by Addiction Simulator 2017-12-07T20:18:56Z

The game lakes some feedback on how your choices affect your character. Some of the answers' text are cut, and the same question is sometime asked several time in a row. The music is top noch, relaxing and not to intrusive. Good job on your game nonetheless.

LD42 — Running out of space

Gregory Haulage Inc by Wevel 2018-08-20T21:01:51Z

I had a very enjoyable moment with your game then… I got owned by the first pirate that I've met… I like how the game asks you to install/screw the modules before using them, when leaving the shop you have to turn certain on, reset others, that's very immersive. Nice game overall.

worm.exe by Linus 2018-08-20T21:10:49Z

Nice take on the theme. It's a little repetitive, but I enjoyed playing your game. Good job.

3x3 a tale about friendship by oskarOlausson 2018-08-14T20:02:39Z

Yeah! 241 @ lvl 7

This is a very very nice game, its challenging, and fun. Very nice take on the theme.

Congratulation.

Welcome to BURELAND by eptwalabha 2018-08-14T20:42:09Z

Hey @netguy204, thanks for trying to play my game ;)

You can only play the game with the arrow keys (I don't like messing around with keymap to play a game).

About the wall crash thanks for noticing the bug, I never had this before. If you play on Windows or Linux, there is a desktop version.

Welcome to BURELAND by eptwalabha 2018-08-14T20:55:54Z

@thewustache, thanks for playing and your feedbacks.

The monsters' patterns are the following: * Barry: I, M, I * Harry: I, C, C * André: I, J, J, I, M, I * Joe: J, A, S, M

with I for Idle, M for random move, C for chase player, J for random jump, A for aim (store the current player position), S for shoot

About the level design, I initially plan the game's levels to be more like the binding of Isaac. Several rooms are connected together to make a level, you had to find the key to the next elevator, then find the end of the level. But as you may expected I encountered several problems that make me scale down my scope.

Welcome to BURELAND by eptwalabha 2018-08-18T23:34:15Z

@naali, well done, I've never went this far myself… You need to go to the 30th basement to win…

SPACENGERS by Dev_For_Pizza 2018-08-16T18:36:48Z

Interesting game,

Unfortunately, I abandoned my 12 crew members because the text was displaying slower and slower at every message (around half a second per letter when I gave up).

Also, like @mgoadric mentioned, the HTML5 version of your game on my Firefox gets stuck at the main menu.

Nice game nonetheless, congratulation.

Colony Collapse by fantasywiz54 2018-08-17T20:55:11Z

Nice game.

I really like how the waste management is in your core mechanics, it fits perfectly with the theme. About the power, I have to agree with @alexkarate on that one... you should give a bit of energy over time to the player each day (at least enough to let him doing things again) so it doesn't end up stuck and waiting for the timer to run out.

Nonetheless, this is a great entry.

Very Original Puzzle Game by Devastus 2018-08-16T18:45:30Z

For a game made in 9h, this is terrific. good job.

Quicksort by Yngvarr 2018-08-18T10:18:30Z

Hey, nice game. I would suggest you to add the id of the crates on their side (they are small thought...), so you can find them more easily later in your play.

If I have to vary the game-play: You currently have tree basic attributes to your crate: - a color - an id that starts with a letter - an id that ends with a number

You could create plenty of separate rules and combine them together to end up with (for example) unloading zone that'll accept: - a purple crate - a green crate with a specific letter - a blue crate with any letter but a number over 4 - a crate with a letter "A" and a number factor of 3 - a crate not blue and with a letter before "E" - go crazy ;)

This should solve the problem of searching for a specific crate in the warehouse.

Anyway, I enjoyed your game, good job on you entry.

A hero's journey by Minemes 2018-08-15T21:17:47Z

Fun game,

I find it odd that sometime you win the level by killing only 2 green mobs while sometime, you have to wipe the entire arena. I liked the end boss, it was very cool.

I don't see how it fits the theme, but I really enjoyed your entry.

Congratulation.

Cybatron by Flaterectomy 2018-08-17T18:04:52Z

This is the nicest game I've played so far, this game mechanic is great. I didn't use artemis-odb for a long time, but your game makes me want to use it again. Good job on your entry.!

edit: I forgot to put my scores ;) - moves: 390 - Time spent: 23m 44s - Resets used: 33 - hints used: 3 - blocks lost: 321

The Return by seizethedia 2018-08-19T21:31:34Z

Hey, your game is nice but hard… I coudn't level up to lvl3. I like your take on the theme. Good job on your entry.

Datacell: a dungeon crawl by Peer 2018-08-14T19:33:15Z

Nice game, I know you only had 2 days, but I wish there were more levels. I like the inventory management, it fits right with the theme. Is the falling star at the beginning is supposed to mean anything?

Good job on your game.

The Infinite Hotel by mikethewayne 2018-08-17T22:17:20Z

Same as @deaymon, no images... The ui is responding though.

A Few Bits Left by pushxtonotdie 2018-08-18T10:31:56Z

Hey, too bad there is only one level, your game is great! I would suggest you to nerf the Jump attack as it is a bit overpowered. Great game nonetheless.

Block Fall by GeroX 2018-08-16T19:06:18Z

Couldn't get more than 45… I am pretty bad at it.

Nevertheless your game is original.

The controls are a little awkward (not sure if it was intended, but I'm not used to shoot with my pinky).

If I have to improve on what you've done, I would use the mouse and change the controls as such: - arrows or WAD to move or jump - aiming with the mouse - left click (or space) to shoot - right click to slow time and display a color wheel the player can use to change its gun's color.

But I know this was made in two days ;)

Good job.

Spatium by rodel77 2018-08-19T21:13:07Z

Nice game you have here. The puzzles get a bit too easy toward the end because of all the remaining single blocks. You should find a way to end up with less (none?) of them. Nice take on the theme.

Personal Space by ProdigalSon 2018-08-20T22:31:17Z

Your game is super nice. I like the falling alien's animation, it cracks me up every time. Good job on your entry.

Day Three by EdwinGameDev 2018-08-15T21:05:30Z

Hey! Nice game,

I think the game will gain in visibility if you add a water/thirst level on the plants. It's a bit confusing to see one died whereas you just watered it a few seconds ago. Also, the crop pooper is too easy to avoid.

Nonetheless, good job to you guys on your game.

Day Three by EdwinGameDev 2018-08-15T21:21:06Z

@edwingamedev yeah your game was nice... and about your laptop, sorry to ear that :s

Hevnsdør by hatchet 2018-08-15T20:39:50Z

Hey, nice game, the music and graphics work very well together.

The eery voice reminds me of Shadow of the colossus.

Good job.

Black Market Nostalgia by boyTurnedRobot 2018-08-20T21:35:39Z

Hey, nice game, but as @titos2k said, the game plays itself really. You should have some sort of obstacles to the player's progression. For example, the corporation you try to take down should fight back by influencing back the peoples on the street. Why not adding some sort of police that you can bride regularly to allow your business, if you don't, they might clean a district back to neutral. Anyway I enjoyed playing your game. Good job.

Space Golf by ctran13 2018-08-17T21:09:18Z

Interesting mechanics. I wasted a lot of party trying to inflate a bit more a planet I'd just made. You should prevent the player from creating any new planet when the cursor is already on one. The game is really hard, but enjoyable, good job.

Carter's Crates by Diego Escalante 2018-08-19T20:41:54Z

Very nice game... even if I always end up stuck between two piles of crates waiting for the game over, I really enjoyed your entry. Good job.

Unwelcoming islands by AlexKishchinskiy 2018-08-14T19:19:21Z

Great concept, like mentioned in @conorgrocock's post, I also ended up winning while I was controlling only a few islands. If you could display a bit more visual indicators, that would be great.

Nice game nonetheless, well done.

Scrap book: A doodle quest! by PunisherXA 2018-08-17T22:07:18Z

Nice take on the theme. Even if I suck at it, I enjoyed your game.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Permafrost Pirouette by Junber 2020-10-06T22:34:36Z

Nice take on the theme. Even if I couldn't pass the 15k level (-_-') I really enjoyed your game. I only have one suggestion: make the dead enemies disappear after a while, because after few kills, it becomes a bit hard to tell which enemies are dead or alive. That said, this game is a very nice entry. Good job to all of you (especially those in charge of the music).

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-06T21:23:02Z

@anrqangel Yeah, I messed up with the control at the last minute and I think I broke something for QWERTY keyboard :s Sorry for that, I'll try to fix that later… thanks for playing.

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-06T22:21:51Z

@denzil-gomes yes, it's further down the building… sometime up is down ;)

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-06T22:26:53Z

@edomiyamoto, @bellringerquinn, @szabe yeah sorry for the poor controls… for some reason, the mouse capture does not really work on browser. I'll try to find a solution. I put desktop versions of the game in the description that don't have this issue.

Thanks for your feedback, they're really appreciate.

edit: I patched the game and add a button to force the browser to capture the mouse.

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-08T08:36:17Z

@arron-fowler , do you still have the mouse problem? I thought I patched it yesterday… If so, sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your feedback.

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-08T10:50:43Z

@arron-fowler , I updated it 12h ago, so you have played the patched version. Did you click on the button (top center of the screen) that says «Hide mouse»? If you don't the browser won't capture your pointer.

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-08T10:58:23Z

@arad-hamidsamiee , Yay for Godot! I could not agree more with you about the visual… it's not really great lol… But don't worry, I'm currently working on improving the game with better lighting (and SSAOI). If you want to check it out, I made it available on github on a `post-ld` branch. Thanks you for your feedback.

The infinity - Pool bar by eptwalabha 2020-10-08T10:59:39Z

Also if anyone's interested, I can provide a link to download the blender file with all the models/animations.

Nice game… I'm a *fan* of this kind of puzzle. Good job

The Wizard's Trip by p-r 2020-10-09T18:08:32Z

Ok… Once you understand what to do, the game becomes pretty enjoyable. The music is nice, but after a while I had to click the mute button because I couldn't concentrate on what I was doing. I like the fact that I have to plan my moves, especially at the end of the game.

Here are my suggestions if you want to improve your game: - as mentioned by @voidsay you **must** highlight the tiles you can move on (it's very cumbersome to hover every tiles with the mouse to find which tile you can navigate next). It's pretty easy to implement as it's only a diamond shape. - A fog of war or a field of view (like 10-20 tiles away?) could add a bit of difficulty - Have other objectives to complete before reaching the end - Certain tiles could change their value after the player moves (sequentially or randomly or both, wathever) that will make a bit more tricky to plan ahead.

Anyway, very nice concept and game.

*ps*: I have to ask… The demons's design… Do you have a grudge with Disney XD ?

Barnyard Animal HR Sim by stuckne1 2020-10-09T19:42:30Z

Ok, don't take it the wrong way, but I find your game too confusing… The way the funds works completely puzzled me. As it is, it's a complete black box and it gives no clue on how my decisions affect the game.

I would suggest this points to improve the gameplay: - Be transparent on how the funds is computed. - Show additional informations on the CV to help the player with his choice. Something like this: exemple.png - Give the player a way to keep track of who's working on his company. - Don't decrease the funds of the company right away (this can be fixed with the following point) - Increase the timer only once the player hires someone (right now, you can cheese the game by spamming the «hire» button like crazy the first day, wait for the next and see if the funds increases… If it doesn't `F5` and repeat). - Add events that will force the player to adapt and change its strategy (someone leaves the company, retires, break it's leg… whatever you want). - In case you implement the event system, you should let the player keep some of the CV.

The procedural CV is a very nice feature and I enjoyed reading the generated lines. Good job on your game.

Very nice game, I wish there was more to it… Very nice take on the theme.

A Night Around the Fire by arron-fowler 2020-10-07T23:10:46Z

Nice game. The hiding animation a bit clumsy on some occasion. But that's a nice take on the theme. If I have to make a suggestion: You should limit the hiding spots only on some places and also prevent the character from going back. That way, the player has to choose if he wants to hide and be safe or continue and take the risk of being exposed until the next hiding spot. Anyway, that's a very good entry. Great work.

It looks like you exported your game in DEBUG mode (at least for the linux' version) I'm sure you will gain a bit of performance if you untick the "Export With Debug" (which is selected by default). debug-godot.png

Depart & Derail: A Cooperative/Competitive Railroad Building Game by DrEvilBrain 2020-10-09T18:44:02Z

I have some questions about the rules (Although I'm not a native English speaker, so I might've missed something): - During the setup, where are the passengers? Are they distributed among the stations or are they all aboard the train? - Is the speed of the train constant during while it moves? I'll try to explain myself with this example: Let say the train has a speed of 6 and is 3 tracks before passing through a station. Once it arrives the station does it boards 1 passenger (constant speed) or 3 (because its speed decrease at each track it's moving on)? - What's the point of passing your turn? I can't see why a player would want to do it.

I can't promise anything, but I'll try to play your game with some of my IRL friends.

Anyway, it's a nice take on the theme. Good job!

Wow… just wow! You guys have a very cool and solid concept. I can only urge you to keep working on it. Optimize the game, add levels, diversify the assets without breaking the clean aesthetic, maybe add a story(?) and make it a commercial game. This has a lot of potential. This is really cool and by far the best entry I've played yet. Good job!

Nice game. I really dig the aesthetic of your character especially the speed trail. I have to agree with @tricky-fat-cat , you need more visual feedback if you want to improve your game. And I know, time is a big limiting factor in a jam. Overall, this is a nice entry. Good job.

Rock Stax by recursor 2021-10-07T21:53:54Z

Very nice game an take on the theme. I found a bug in your game on my second playthrough. If you wait too long before droping a block, it enters in "sleep" mode and is not processed by the physic engine anymore. Which means that when released, it won't fall and will hang mid-air until another block interacts with. This can easily be fixed by waking up your entity the moment you trigger the release. Other than that, this is a pretty cool game. Good job on your submission.

crane-simulator by eptwalabha 2021-10-05T23:25:18Z

@bassguitarbill , @ditam , @quoc , @chargrills21 thanks to all of you for playing. I know, I need to improve the controls a bit.

@ditam The objective of the level can be previewed by pressing `tab`. That will show you the building that you are expected to build. Blocks are automatically loaded on the crane. You need to use the scroll wheel of your mouse if you want to change the type of block to drop. The preview on the left side's only there to let you know what type of block is loaded in case your camera is completely zoomed in.

crane-simulator by eptwalabha 2021-10-09T20:16:38Z

@kingslee142 , @denhette , @xschaumix , @greenxenith thanks for playing this game.

@greenxenith yeah… about the 80%, I did not have time to polish this part of the game. As it is, the game considers that you win the level as soon as the percentage of similarity with the objective reaches 80% (this is why you cannot go above this percentage). This is not what I had initialy planned. I wanted to unlock a submit button at 80% and let the players choose when to end the level. Once submited, the game would compute a first score (that was initialy going to be money)... Then as soon as the player close the score panel, a catastrophe occures and shakes your building (godzilla passing by, an earthquake, a volcano errupting, ... you name it). Once the catastrophe is over, the game would give you a new score on what remains of your building (extra money). For the stars, the system works as such: ``` pseudocode stars = 0 if (cost < budget) stars += 1 // that was scrapped… so everyone gets at least 1 star XP if (time_left / time_limit < .8) stars += 1 if (time_left / time_limit < .6) stars += 1 return stars ``` I know that it's not great, but it's something I did in a hurry to replace the money system I didn't have time to implement.

Nice game, I was going to report the crash at the end when you quit the game, but I see in the description that this is now part of the theme  If I have anything to complain about, it's the lake of "hint" for the first puzzle... Maybe I'm blind and didn't see it, but I kinda brutforce my way across the room. Good job on your submission.

Ebony & Ivory Tower by kromeboy 2021-10-05T22:05:44Z

Nice game. It would be interesting to show the player the next (maybe two next) colors in advance and not only the current one. It'll introduce a bit of strategy for two players mode and a more carefull approche on single mode. Good job on your submission.

Monocykl by Bajtix 2021-10-09T22:31:23Z

Nice game, it tooks me a while before figuring out the controls. Once I did, I played until 290 where I miserably fell on the side. Out of curiosity, is there anything to discover or is it just endless rooftops and planks ? As for my suggestion, you could implement some sort of 1v1 where you race against another unicycle controlled by the computer.

Good job on your entry.

Temple Of Tozi by Denzil Gomes 2021-10-10T01:06:27Z

Un-Stabled by Denhette 2021-10-10T01:58:10Z

Very funny entry. I really enjoyed the voices, especially the "a-a-a-a-apples" For the controls, have you tried to implement some sort of slow-motion ? I'm sure this will enhanced the game a lot and let you create more complicated levels. Good job on your first submission.

Up! A physics based climbing adventure. by kernon 2021-10-11T17:42:23Z

Nice game, I enjoyed it, but couldn't get over 12m though :expressionless: If the character could jump a bit higher, that would improve the experience a lot (that or a double jump). I like the idea mentioned above about making a force that would repel the objects from the player. Good job on your submission.

Pepper Dealer by aslan 2021-10-12T18:31:44Z

Nice game, like @hiisileiri , the game crashed on me after the first employee upgarde. At first, I really liked the idea of measuring the pepper's weight with the scale, but after a while I ended up eyeballing everything and not really using the scale any more. As mentioned above, the income is too slow, to fix this, you could let the player decide the price he/she wants to charge for its peppers. If the price's high, then the penalty of under/over weighting should be high as well. And inversly if the price is low, the customers wouldn't mind to pay a little extra. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game. Good job on your submission.

@choo, @bhughes my bad… I didn't select the correct settings when exporting the WebGL version. Thanks both of you for pointing that out. I fixed the link, you should be able to play the web version without any trouble now. @sean-j-karemaker thanks for the feedback.

Promo Sapiens by eptwalabha 2022-04-10T17:16:18Z

Sorry everyone for the late answers, I was working on another project of mine.

@tjuant, thanks for playing. Yeah, sorry about that XP… My initial idea for the theme has been kind of lost during the jam. It was something like: «We're heading toward a massive world crisis mainly because of the way we over-consume resources. We have to do something quick… but we haven't done anything yet. We are delaying the inevitable». But, because of time constraint and a scope way too big, it ended up being «Can I do my groceries on time». Ha ha ha.

@lachlan-james, thanks for playing and your feedback.

@sawyer, thanks for playing. Like I said to @tjuant, my idea got lost in the way. The time remaining before the end of the level is given by the clocks on the walls. The level ends when the needle reaches midnight (picking up promotion give you time bonus). That said, I see now two problems with my approche: - the way the clock works it's not really self-explanatory - at the begining of every level, the PA announces "5 minutes before closing" which is wrong. I kept the audio because it was adding to the "supermarket" mood.

I think I'll change them with a count-down and a message above saying: "time remaining before closing". Also change the PA's message for something more generic.

@katsuhira, ha ha sorry for that, thanks for playing my game.

@mopifish, thanks for playing and your feedback. At one point during developpement, I thought of turning it into an horror game. If you look at the project on github, you can see the navigation mesh in the supermarket… I was going to use it for the "night shift employees". But it was too similar to [SCP-3008](https://the-scp.foundation/object/scp-3008) so I discarded the idea. It's too bad you gave up at day 200, it's the last level before the ending (but trust me, it isn't worth re-playing, you'll be disapointed).

@exevirus, thanks for playing and your feedback. I have to be honest with you… my experience with fallout is as good as yours. I completed the tutorial of Fallout 1 then never touch the game again XP… I 100% agree with you, the game need a lot more polish (I hesitated to submit it to the "incomplete" category). Glad it inspires you, if you need to use assets or anything in the project, be my guest: everything is on github for free.

Good job on your submission.

Shades of Deception by AMastryukov 2022-04-13T23:15:27Z

Wow, that was very, very impressive. I really enjoyed playing your entry. The mood, the level, the music and dialogs where all very nice (I especially liked the puns). I only have two complains (they're nitpicks really): - I got myself stuck looking for the exit in the interrogation room for quite a while, because I couldn't find the door which was hidden in the shade. - Sometime the audio level goes from quiet to very loud Nonetheless, this is by far the best submission I've played so far.

I was wondering if there was a second ending ? I played the game twice trying to collect all the evidences again in the last room, but got the same ending again. Anyway, good job for your entry.

Out of Breath by raptor851 2022-04-14T23:05:32Z

I really enjoyed playing your game. I think the controls where a bit finicky (at least on the web version). If you plan on working on a post-ludum dare version, I would suggest you to implement a point-n-click kind of controls (mouse only). That said, I see that there were a lot of work in your entry. Good job.

Tick by ChewieCB 2022-04-10T17:48:44Z

Very nice take on the theme. I really enjoyed playing your game. That said, I'm really not good with the control.

If you want to keep working on your game, I can suggest you a additional mechanic based on risk / reward: When the player takes a job, you should give him a time target. If he delivers before the target, he receives more cash (you can give him a penalty otherwise)… This'll be a nice way to force the player to take huge risks and zip even faster through the city for extra cash. Another suggestion that could help with the control: You should lock the camera to the player and rotate the world instead. You should also zoom the camera out depending on the player's speed (It'll help to anticipate obstacles).

Anyway, that's a great entry. Good job on your game.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Compute and Compile by ping78 2018-04-30T20:36:35Z

Well done! This is very nice for a game made in two days. Though, something's off about the phases… I noticed the timer on the bottom right corner, but I think they end too abruptly, and often, it takes my brain some times to understand what phase it is… you could set the world black and white when giving instructions and use colors only during the playing phase.

Again this is done in two days… with a decent AI, so well done.

Now, for some reason, I furiously want to go back to Warcraft 3…

KalashKnight by eptwalabha 2018-04-25T14:57:46Z

@hare-software ha ha spotted! thank you for playing.

KalashKnight by eptwalabha 2018-04-30T11:12:00Z

@themonsterfromthedeep & @rosik agree… the game mechanics are unclear. Originally, we wanted to make levels to introduce each mechanic/block one by one, also, the game itself was more "puzzle" oriented. The lake of time forces us to make a single procedural level (which I'm not really happy with).

@themonsterfromthedeep about the wasted laser, no, it's not your fault ;) the UI is not very clear on what's going on… one way to fix it is to pop a temporary info directly above the player's character or to simply change its weapon skin… same when the player is loosing/gaining life.

Thank you all for your reviews, they're really appreciate as we're trying to pull up a new and better version.

Bullet Rogue by squirrelsoft 2018-04-30T19:41:14Z

Nice game. Even if I did not pass the second level… too hard for me. You should animate/tween the bullets/player for a better visibility. Good job nonetheless.

Silent steps by David BroĹľ 2018-04-30T21:07:39Z

Nice, I like the idea, but the game is "too bright"… I mean, even if it's dark, you can still easily spot the monster from far away… You could tint each tiles with a gradient of black (ex: pitch black for tiles that are 5 blocks away from the player's position) a bit like Minecraft lighting system. To help the player with the monster's location, you could display it's footstep with a text or a ripple on the penumbra, the closer is the monster, the bigger is the footstep.

Anyway, this is a nice game, well done.
