Looks cool, but the WebGL version caused my Mac Chrome to hang and crash :( . Then I got black screen and cool announcement voice but nothing else! If I had Windows I'd try it for sure :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Promo Sapiens

playing on chrome, all the objects in the game duplicated across the screen creating a white flikcering picture. was very hard to look at.
this game is uncanny and has a vibe, i was into it :)
@choo, @bhughes my bad… I didn't select the correct settings when exporting the WebGL version. Thanks both of you for pointing that out. I fixed the link, you should be able to play the web version without any trouble now. @sean-j-karemaker thanks for the feedback.
I didn't get the idea of the game
Weirdly eerie stuff. I wasn't totally sure what my goal was (5 minutes seemed like a long time to collect the things) but loved the promo animations and the creepy deadness of the store. Well done!
Sort of struggling to see how it fits the theme, but I really enjoyed running around searching for my groceries, would have also been nice to see how much time I have(may have been a problem with my browser and I just couldn't see it). But overall I really enjoyed this game and I liked the eeriness of it.
Attention customers! Attention customers! Attention customers! Never attention fellow people, I see. I hate that you made me learn how this supermarket is set up and where things are located. Seriously great short game.
This has the same vibe as those more meta horror games on Itch! That'd be a fun direction to take it if you keep developing :)
As is, it kind of lacks for gameplay. While I do like the vibe, it doesn't offer much challenge or incentive to play. I ended up stopping on Day 200 after it reset on me for the second time while I was mere feet from the cash register! So close
Not my cup of tea for sure.
Never played the fallout series, but it gave me that kind of vibe, too.
Mood is top notch, and the audio is why I stuck around. There's a lot of sales haha.
Couldn't beat day 200, didn't realize there was a time limit until then. It's really hard to get the meat off the bottom shelves ;)
I found the vibe to be great, but boy does the game need fleshed out. I love the supermarket idea, but NPC's, slightly larger images for the items, and maybe a backstory would have gone a long way to make it more engaging.
Thanks for developing it, it's does inspire some cool ideas :)
Sorry everyone for the late answers, I was working on another project of mine.
@tjuant, thanks for playing. Yeah, sorry about that XP… My initial idea for the theme has been kind of lost during the jam. It was something like: «We're heading toward a massive world crisis mainly because of the way we over-consume resources. We have to do something quick… but we haven't done anything yet. We are delaying the inevitable». But, because of time constraint and a scope way too big, it ended up being «Can I do my groceries on time». Ha ha ha.
@lachlan-james, thanks for playing and your feedback.
@sawyer, thanks for playing. Like I said to @tjuant, my idea got lost in the way. The time remaining before the end of the level is given by the clocks on the walls. The level ends when the needle reaches midnight (picking up promotion give you time bonus). That said, I see now two problems with my approche: - the way the clock works it's not really self-explanatory - at the begining of every level, the PA announces "5 minutes before closing" which is wrong. I kept the audio because it was adding to the "supermarket" mood.
I think I'll change them with a count-down and a message above saying: "time remaining before closing". Also change the PA's message for something more generic.
@katsuhira, ha ha sorry for that, thanks for playing my game.
@mopifish, thanks for playing and your feedback. At one point during developpement, I thought of turning it into an horror game. If you look at the project on github, you can see the navigation mesh in the supermarket… I was going to use it for the "night shift employees". But it was too similar to [SCP-3008](https://the-scp.foundation/object/scp-3008) so I discarded the idea. It's too bad you gave up at day 200, it's the last level before the ending (but trust me, it isn't worth re-playing, you'll be disapointed).
@exevirus, thanks for playing and your feedback. I have to be honest with you… my experience with fallout is as good as yours. I completed the tutorial of Fallout 1 then never touch the game again XP… I 100% agree with you, the game need a lot more polish (I hesitated to submit it to the "incomplete" category). Glad it inspires you, if you need to use assets or anything in the project, be my guest: everything is on github for free.
I really liked the vibe of this game. With a little more work I think you could have a fun game that communicates the message you're going for!
I enjoyed that! Would've been fun to have something more at the end, but it is a jam. Great vibe, timing felt tough but manageable on the last day. You probably could have cut out a day in the middle.
Nice one :) Mood is great, gameplay is ok. I jiggled a bit at the "ending", so for me it was more fun than disappointing ;)
Interesting idea :)
cool game. i like the overall tone regarding consumerism. nice audio!
Really cool game, loved the atmosphere and the graphics. Not entirely sure how well it fits with the theme but I would love to see this be developed further regardless as I feel it could make a really cool horror game with the uneasy mood. Great job!
The web version didn't capture the mouse unfortunately. The windows version worked flawlessly though. Yeah the theme got lost a bit but that just happens sometimes. The promotions I had to kinda ignore in the later levels to even be able to finish in time. I really liked the last level and the commentary on consumerism.
