LD46 — Keep it alive

iNanny by weeping-rupee 2020-04-27T01:45:29Z

Alright, you got me. I tried to win. Hint: don't lol. That RNG is an evil master. both guns often fire at once and the baby often slows down in the structure sections too, making defending nearly impossible when literally everything is green haha.

So while the game is frustratingly unbalanced, it is by far the most polished and well deserving game this ludum Dare, (~30 rated so far). The backstory is a great pop culture reference that is executed with humor and with pizazz! I loved the music choices and your opening cut scenes. I will be sorely disappointed if this doesn't make it to the top of the ratings at the end of the rating session.

Nothing to Z Here by cakemonitor 2020-04-23T01:30:25Z

That was great!!! good job for your first time (ours too). I love the music pick and gary's hairdoo, that was a great touch, do you have said hair yourselves?

The win screen was great and I definitely got stuck on the firing line for a bit. Difficulty of the game was perfect. Just challenging enough. Right amount of levels too. Great Job!

GRAVITY. by ben657 2020-04-23T12:45:56Z

Great Mechanics! That was wonderful! Had a lot of fun, and the path prediction is awesome.

Guardian of the Flame by Mathstr0fficial 2020-04-22T04:26:30Z

Had fun, good submission! Also glad you posted this on the discord, it's hard to find here on ldjam:)

the Early Worm by alec 2020-04-21T22:32:16Z

Great Audio! Great Game!

Enjoyed that a lot and it was really cute. And frustrating. Turns out the best way to turn for me is to hold the opposite direction because I always want to turn on the tail haha.

afterthought by Rionisse 2020-04-21T03:12:52Z

Great Job!

It wasn't my slice of tea in terms of fun, but I was definitely engaged. Twice I somehow got out-of-bounds and had to restart but I doubt anyone else will have that issue (I tend to walk into walls a lot).

The translation was good enough, and honestly having the translation be imperfect *improved* the mood :)

I love the graphics style <3, the overly bright glare definitely contributed to the mood.

The school looks great too:)

Complaints: Bit short. not much "gameplay"

Bunnurse by Brainoid 2020-04-21T02:54:22Z

So I only own a 2010 latop and Unreal Engine destroys the builtin APU (AMD). But! I was able to still load and play a bit (walk around and jump and view the game).

Highlights: Great Graphics! Working Unreal Engine Game! (Impressive, haha) Mood is fantastic. Fullscreen and the shaking camera is perfect

Marginal: Humor: mood is too strong so if there is any humor, it's getting overpowered. Execution-Speed: Well, you are definetly leaving out a good chunk of people by using unreal, so that affects my fun rating. What Audio I did hear was minimal, though that may have been a function of execution speed.

Summary: Overall great entry, just leaves us cheap-o laptop users in the dust :/

Keep It Alive by Ratstail91 2020-04-22T01:20:33Z

I had the same experience as MikDionio. Thought there might be a win condition so I cut down every single tree haha. All in all, gave you good marks for the lighting and the theme, wasn't particularly fun, but it was cool to see the light mechanic in action while playing.

Lawn and Order by danflapjax 2020-05-09T21:41:28Z

That was a good puzzle game. I'm impressed with how simple your mechanics are and how that translated so well to a full game. You could definitely benefit from finishing it a bit more with music and lager levels as a post jam version. It was fun, and could translate well to a daily phone game. (level released every day or something)

Monster Zoo by Copito 2020-04-22T01:53:04Z

Hey so I want to rate and give you feedback and all, but this requires vulkan to be installed on my computer. I'm on windows 7... tried downloading a vulcan-1.dll but of course that didn't work. Any advice? @copito

RushBomb by Gelgavish 2020-04-27T01:05:53Z

Haha that was fun! I appreciate that everything was console based and that the levels are a .txt file (user generated content??? ;)

Anyways, We also did ours in C++, but it used the SDL libraries so we had a much easier time creating our game engine than you. I don't envy trying to make a pure console game like that, Though I am inspired to....

A Bard's Party (Keep it alive) by Takayamushi 2020-04-21T03:28:21Z

Using the mouse made this much much harder than it needed to be, but I'm sure it was trying to be innovative, which it was :)

Fun-ness? Yes, but less so because of the mouse input concerns. it was just too much for my hands haha.

Mood: Great

Theme: Great

Graphics: Great

The Keep is Alive by OwlyCode 2020-04-21T22:20:16Z

So I enjoyed the game, even though it runs very slowly on my old laptop. Not quite playable in the tight spaces as the response time is about 0.8 seconds of delay.

Theming was on point. 5.0

graphics were cute :)

Audio was good, created a good mood.

I thought the tower morphing and gaining abilities was really cool and innovative :)

Great take on the theme, looking forward to more by you in the future!

Lifelink by IanLux 2020-04-23T01:47:41Z

That final level difficulty ramped up though hahaha. Yeah great entry, balance needed, and the battling mechanic needs some brushing up.

The graphics are great, your engine is great!!!!! can't stress that enough. My computer is a potato and I was actually able to lower the graphics and execute the game well!!! (unlike Unity and unreal....)

Thank you for making it!

Snip Snap by Quackqack 2020-04-22T04:01:00Z

The only the I'll add is on my computer it was about twice as hard because for some reason the game wouldn't capture my keyboard correctly so every time I jumped with space my browser when flying down the page. That definitely made the game hard:)

Music++ Style++ Fun++ Simple++

Virus Simulator by Sli 2020-04-21T02:40:39Z

Ha! I won one:)

So first off: It was pretty self-explanatory, so instructions aren't needed. But more backstory in your description could've been helpful (maybe explain some mechanics).

Other feedback: Music and sound are always a plus, just a simple loop for the music or something. It doesn't have to be part of your rating (i.e. you can use other's work if it is a free license, but do include it as it makes the game a lot more fun)

Screen Size: So I have a relatively common laptop screen size at 1366 x 768, and this game didn't fit right in my screen (too tall) so I ended up continuously scrolling

Mechanics: I Don't understand all the nitty gritty, but you did a pretty great job! I think your game needed to be slower paced, so that we could see the spread more rather than spamming buttons on the "take measures" screen ;)

Finally, It looks like your specialty is the mechanics and not the Gui or Graphics, so I'll spare you that complaint :)

Deamon Flower by JustusPan 2020-04-22T14:33:59Z

Wow that was fantastic work you two!!!!!

It has the right progression, never gets stale, great music, challenging at times. that was perfect!

Should definitely be a top contender this LD :v:

Nitpicking: minimap+wider levels+make it harder to win, was there a lose condition?

Harvest Season by Devesh Sharma 2020-04-21T17:19:49Z

Many things are great about this game:

- It's fun! - It's Puzzly! - It's pretty, and the main menu has a great spinning background! - It executes just fine on a potato pc ;) - It's challenging - It's the compo! not just a jam game. very impressive for the amount of time given. - it has music! but the music disappears during game, bummer.

Drawbacks:

- I can't do anything but watch while a season is happening. And it takes a long time for 5 waves to occur. In fact, this entire response is being written with the game running in the background.

- Low variety in terms of types: everything is towers, and most towers just shoot. Status effects or specialized buildings would have been nice.

- Great variety: within the towers you do have, there are a lot of options and limited positioning makes the game more puzzle-y

Honestly a great game though, will be playing for a while to hopefully finish all the levels :)

Necromancer by krakadushka 2020-04-22T01:41:39Z

Wow, that was all over the place in terms of my expectations and the results:

What follows are my thoughts as I was playing

This is going to be the best game ever based on this starting screen. Like look at how much work they put into each character, I'm so pumped.

Oh, I won. hahahahahhaahha.....

end thoughts

So yeah, you did a great job with whats there, just I have no clue how to lose besides make a bad team.

So not really "fun" per-se, but dang the graphics and interactions and execution speed (for unity that's unheard of on this laptop) and ALL THOSE BACKSTORIES.

I really, really wanted to see these characters come to life, haha. Like the fearful guy that sucks in battle and both good and evil hate. And that politician that drank and partied before being completely sealed away making necromancy nearly impossible. That's what I call a *real* lawyer.

Rent, Please! by sydream 2020-04-23T12:40:44Z

Points for using godot, many don't even bother with it anymore.

Points for having what looks like it would be a large game. Obviously you didn't get to implement everything in under 24 hours haha, such is life.

I loved the farmer art you chose though:)

Cheat Or Die by Kanonix 2020-04-21T03:40:08Z

Hhahahaaaa,

That was great! I was legitimately scared by that teacher/death-eater. Wife also busted up laughing at me as I made mistakes ....

My only wish is that there was more. After the first classroom, the second would have more seats, missing chairs, etc.

Great Artstyle! @Sofy35-> :thumbsup: :art:

Custom Critter Fighter by Empty Set 2020-04-23T02:38:50Z

Right there with you @khyrgrim (I actually had a horrible start. died twice.... So I was facing those boss things with a pea shooter and no fins, hahaha) but I made it :)

example.png

As for the dev: GREAT JOB! that was fun, theming was meh, but the game was on point! have you done anything more ambitious yet? cause I want to see your 3 week games if this is what you do with 3 days ;)

To Save a Princess by Tylla 2020-04-22T03:40:50Z

Hey I got past all the fight scenes and saved the princess!!! though I missed what she said and didn't get any further after that. Probably something to do with the sword grove.

So the issues everyone is having is with missing files. I literally had to go inside your game assets files and create dummy images and sounds. Whenever it asked for a ".png" I just copied one that was there, renamed it, and hit retry! Solved every problem. Bug fixes ARE allowed, so feel free to fix that (with dummy files) and update your zip file.

Also I think I recognize the toolset as some derivative of construct? is that true?

Honestly it was quite frustrating getting to the princess as the engine had a lot of fight scenes to get there. Luckily I brought a potion or I would have died in the boss fight. Once i had a healer princess and reached level 3 from the fight I was invincible!!!! Triple attack is OP, hahaha.

Anyways, as for feedback, it looks like this is your first time with the toolset, so I wont dig you there. If you are really into the RPG genre look into some action RPG engines. there are better ones. Though this wasn't bad honestly!

Mood: High because your music was good, though I doubt you wrote it this weekend? Innovation: medium. even though you didn't make anything new, you did try a new toolset that ludum dare has not seen yet fom my many years of lurking and playing! Theme: yep Fun: Decent? the battle pacing was a bit too often, felt like there were about 30% more fights than I wanted haha.

Polish from the toolset you used was nice though! I liked the sprite characters, did you personally make any> I would like to praise you if you did :)

Intergalactic Space Turtles by Darottio 2020-04-22T02:30:29Z

Phew, comments seciont is giving me issues so I hope hits goes through (3rd times the charm right?)

Anyways, lots of great thoughts here! The ship battle is effective, but I never got hurt enough to need to fix anything without intentionally letting it happen.

I love that I can walk around and fix the ship I'm flying, that is a really really really cool concept (high innovation award incoming  )

Graphics and sounds are good as well.

Issues: yeah it's not done, by any means. one type of enemy, infinite health through Regen shields, like 8 weapons but no one to kill haha.

I liked the auto-aim concept for the missles that was cool. Honestly most of the game is there, just need to make the ship auto scroll forward and have more enemies. would have been a top entry and I pray you do a post-jam version!

Finally, if you want to know a secret to explore the inside of the ship at your leisure, just fly the ship up **above the enemies**.... you won't get hurt and can stay there all day long haha.

Thanks for the entry I hope to see a finished version soon!

Meet God Under the Neon Lights by Systematic 2020-04-21T04:11:03Z

Full Play through:

I definitely got bored really fast. Thank goodness that you put a goal for us at the end otherwise I would have quit halfway through day 2. Shift to the rescue! (maybe allow us to fly like a plane or helicopter or something to spice it up:)

I love some of the hiding spots though, that was good:)

Strafing and left-right should've had reversed controls.

A countdown timer and YOU LOSE screen would have been nice. Something to encourage frantic finding (and subsequent missing of people)

I didn't play twice but are the people randomly placed? You could just have each night pick from a set larger than the number of people if not.

Mood was your strongest point. The neon-future thing worked. And that God Sound Recording at the end "say ah"

Music as well as ambient would have been nice.

I loved the "bikes" great use of spheres and toruses :)

Cages were on point in quality, same for trash cans and trees and shrubs. The cityscape could've used some spice. Maybe flickering lights?

There are other bots. Two player co-op is a possibility post-jam (race to collect 'em all).

Finally, the sound effects for correctly and incorrectly looking at a human with the flashlight is waayy tooo loud/strong/abrupt. Breaks up the mood and gets really old, real fast. Ended up muting and unmuteing to hear the ambient but not the people sounds.

OVERALL: I gave you a 3.5, could be a 4, but wasn't fun enough for me:/

I can't wait to see all that graphics talent and mood talent in future games

Floriculture by Brickington 2020-04-21T17:53:24Z

High marks for audio, theme and mood.

You did very well at making something I enjoy, though not necessarily something I "play".

The ambience alone is enough to keep it open on my computer throughout today:)

Thank you!

"Life-Saver" Bot by Saleh ElHalaby 2020-04-29T17:02:04Z

So some advice:

1. Controls are badly explained, I didn't know spacebar was jump until I tried it and mouse was to shoot. I also can't jump higher than a given height so level 2 and 3 are unbeatable without some more explanation on controls or the game.

2. Decent art and Direction of the game, and it is playable, so good job there.

3. If you want more feedback, you need to login and play some other games and rate them yourself, as you rate more games, you'll show up more in the search functions and we'll rate your game more. 20 is the goal, so you and your partner would need to rate a total of about 22-23 games to get to a full 20 ratings by Tuesday.

4. Music, even if it is not your own, is good. Just opt out of sound rating and we will all enjoy your game more :)

5. Great effect(s) on the gun btw, that was well done.

Escape With Alive by Arefnue 2020-04-21T23:26:24Z

I enjoyed that thoroughly. The assets are cookie cutter but you made a fun game out of them. Honestly makes it that much more impressive.

Finally learned the strategy and won one after about 15 tries, haha. Gotta plan ahead

Thank you for the fun!

The Last Sun by JunaGames 2020-04-27T01:14:55Z

So the game is quite difficult, I'm surprised so few haven't mentioned that. I couldn't find any powerups after three playthroughs, tho I am bad at dodging attacks. Perhaps you as the creator(s) were better at dodging than I (us). Perhaps the game should have had less spawns at first and gradually sped up over time? It felt pretty much: 0...0...1....5.5.5.5.5.5.5.5.5 (enemies to kill)

Difficulty aside, I enjoy the mechanics and the mining and sun and the fact that the planets rotate around the sun and they explode when mined too much. Lots of details in places I didn't expect so that was cool.

Graphics: A Music: too quiet, haha, but fitting.

Thanks for a fun play! P.s. it runs just fine on Windows 7.

Help To Level Up by DaniBoySan 2020-04-23T01:57:29Z

Hey!! That turned out decent!

I respond that way because I thought I was just restarting every time I started the level rather than progressing

For those of you who don't get the game

WASD-movement, X-attack (yes it's clunky ;)

Step 1: Find the Key Step 2: Open the Chest Step 3: Leave the dungeon in a kind of dead end spot Step all: defend your buddy.

**There is an ending** (nice job creator) and it was actually a bit satisfying. Which, without sound or feedback was pretty impressive.

So some feedback for you, the creator:

Great game if your first attempt, if not, I suggest you try to find some music and sounds to spice up the game, because your core game was pretty good, just not the feedback on sounds. Something as simple as a sword sound, chest sound, your friend getting hurt sound, and music. That would have made it a good-great entry.

Graphics: Nice job! Animated characters and teeth on the enemies. Fun: the clunky attack actually made the game very fun, nice Theme: check. Mood: Almost there, this is where music really makes the game.(anyone's music, doesn't have to be your own)

Party - Sea Battle - Keep your battle fleet alive... in music by rlods 2020-04-21T13:59:34Z

Had issues getting in, but after that it was pretty good. Enjoyed the gameplay, I wonder what your backend is, because that search functionality is impressive haha. High innovation marks just for that alone :)

Promo Sapiens by eptwalabha 2022-04-06T00:59:25Z

Not my cup of tea for sure.

Never played the fallout series, but it gave me that kind of vibe, too.

Mood is top notch, and the audio is why I stuck around. There's a lot of sales haha.

Couldn't beat day 200, didn't realize there was a time limit until then. It's really hard to get the meat off the bottom shelves ;)

I found the vibe to be great, but boy does the game need fleshed out. I love the supermarket idea, but NPC's, slightly larger images for the items, and maybe a backstory would have gone a long way to make it more engaging.

Thanks for developing it, it's does inspire some cool ideas :)

Manual Manny! by ghost-in-the-toast 2022-04-09T01:25:47Z

Very Very cool, No savestates here, but got to SKA, so I'm proud. The best part is that this is a ROM, you are the second team/group/person to do a ROM based game, and I think I need to go make one myself sometime, haha. Thanks for a fun game!

Delayed Gratification by jessekaz 2022-04-08T02:23:25Z

Ha, that was an effort in frustration, I can't finish half of these in completion-ist mode. Still enjoyed it, absolutely fluid game-play on a decent PC, I enjoyed that part of it. Thanks for some fun!

Stellarium Charting by Jason200101 2022-04-06T01:15:15Z

Well, I officially suck, cause I can't figure out how to actually play the game aspect, I get the controls, I think. I tried matching the stars behind, looks like it's also a tower defense game? couldn't get the projectile to fire anything but horizontal though.

By far the best part was the particles. I loved making cool collages and throwing my galaxy around :)

particles!.jpg

Stellarium Charting by Jason200101 2022-04-06T02:40:10Z

Hey now, don't be so depressed, this was: 1. Your own engine 2. Really cool looking 3. Had great mood points in my book 4. Had a fun interface with the cards idea that you drag around. 5. innovative particle connection stuff. I think you could make it into a game, it's just you need to ask for some inspiration from friends and admirers for ideas I think.

Pax Nebulae by p-r 2022-04-08T01:16:25Z

Wow, okay I just played that for like 40 minutes. After the second battle, I got to a decent planet. Thought we couldn't actually get fuel haha. Proceeded to realize this was going to be a lot of clicking... so I pulled out trusty 'ol **autohotkey**...

ahk.jpg

[auto click 20 or 100 times rapidly when pressing windows+Q or windows+W]

So with that power, and about 20 more minutes...

Yes, it's a lot.gif

Yikes, the slowest part is the damn battles haha. Speaking of which, you need to get rid of the scrollbars and make the screen width bigger, sliding to the strongest attack every time is rough. Also, far too easy to just swap out anyone willy nilly. Maybe restrict to one swap per round? also the 2 moves only for my round thing needs improved. I liked the initial difficulty, but as you can see, it get's really broken quite fast. Especially with free insta heals ;)

Note the **160 cargo capacity!!!**

Darn it, I get to 90% and lose every time. I think I they like to attack on average around every 4 rounds they are alive. There's a lot of lucky hits that you don't think are possible. Definitely a game of skill hidden here.

Still, favorite bug was when you barely miss someone with the battle axe, he goes to hit them anyways, and then...

Stuck....

Thanks for a fun entry! (also great premise)

Cubic Defence by LeYamez 2022-04-09T01:38:30Z

1. Enjoyed it 2. But still boring, because the waves were not enough to overpower even after 15 minutes. 3. quite tedious to collect resources, though it's a decent mechanic. Wish the player was WASD controlled not right click 4. Music was nice, but I'm sure you can do better! Feel free to @ me with some of your better work :) 5. The most impressive thing is you have a team of **5**. That's amazing and you all should be putting your time into a real game, because those kinds of teams are rare.

**If you don't click the slider and move it during the day, you get $0000 for that round, but still gain heat :anguished: **

Review

Good game, totally works out of the box, and I enjoyed my first playthrough. Was there supposed to be audio? cause I had none...

The agents are very dumb, until they're very scary. Didn't push the bush too hard, but can I just hide forever???

Not that inevitable: from what I can tell, go find a printer and revert back to zero if you stay in the low heat by day. I mean, couldn't I just select $0 and have 0 heat?

Further Ideas

I'd like to see like Level 2+ agents, and possibly bribing my way to higher offices (levels), and some sort of "health bar" for hiding, if that is implemented.

If it wasn't for the fact that I had to make dinner though, I might have finished, haha.

I got as far as your guide to stop clicking the button "Step 1: Don't click the button" and now I'm cured!

Though, apparently I will have to dive into the code somehow and find this song everyone is raving about haha

Thanks for a fun time and great voice acting

Delay the Inevitable by Gix 2022-04-07T03:32:26Z

Haha, this is NOT for the trackpad on a laptop. Much better with a mouse. I agree with uboretsky, mobile would be good for this, I mean an html export should be able to run it just fine.

Overall, great short, well themed game. Thanks!

Balloon Bash by ExeVirus 2022-04-04T18:52:31Z

Oof, hopefully you played with sound, it also has a spawn sound.

The Minetest engine is still improving and changing the text for chat messages requires me to change that text size for all games. So anyone who goes inside that game_data folder to player real minetest will have a weird experience using the larger font.

So, until that engine improves, I'm not going to mess with it. Though I will definitely change the color to be more obvious.

------------ Thanks again for playing this very short entry, do give multiplayer a try, it's quite fun with friends, and also be sure to try out the underlying games in the engine, Minetest is a cool open source project.

Balloon Bash by ExeVirus 2022-04-07T02:02:12Z

@foursay as you should be ;)

Found minetest back in the day when it was just a Minecraft clone, they've really expanded their horizons the past few years, it's more like an engine every day.

This was more of a bet with that community I could make a fun game jam entry this year in 3 hours. This is the result:)

Balloon Bash by ExeVirus 2022-04-08T01:20:28Z

@cppchriscpp try playing with friends if you can, it's almost party game level once you get 4-6 and 20 balloons ;) As for Minetest, yeah I think more people should be using it for these LDJams and for game making in general, enjoy discovering all it has to offer ;)

Balloon Bash by ExeVirus 2022-04-08T02:25:49Z

@raptor851 There could have been if I had more than 3 hours to make it. Minetest runs on android, linux, mac, and windows. The issue is the map would have to be generated at startup and that would have taken another hour or so. The game will be live in Minetest soon enough, feel free to sudo apt install minetest (hopefully you're on a recent version of ubuntu, or just compile from source. It's pretty actively developed and released.

It'll be under the same name on their ContentDB, probably in a few weeks.

Balloon Bash by ExeVirus 2022-04-09T03:38:12Z

@etchell

Collision with each other would make it harder, and I wanted this to be easier for solo players. It'll end up on a server somewhere so I'll be sure to turn that on (simple toggle actually) when it goes to that kind of environment.

As for the random location part, you can edit the code yourself (plaintext, in the game_data/games/balloon_bash/mods/balloon_bash/init.lua, look for the add_entity() lines and adjust the distance from +-4 to like +-10 to make it really hard.

Alternatively, find some friends, as they will randomly spawn over any joined player.

Thanks for playing, and the feedback:)

Totally Original Worm Game by SilverHammerMax 2022-04-06T02:51:30Z

*I like that it autosent me to go get openJDK, thank you!*

... okay nevermind. I installed it, added %JAVA_HOME% variable, added %JAVA_HOME%\bin to my PATH, tested that I have access to javaw.exe, I do. Click your .exe, and it cannot find Java 17... what gives?

Totally Original Worm Game by SilverHammerMax 2022-04-07T01:27:00Z

Okay, it plays now. I keep getting to round 3, but it freezes. Three times in a row, same spot in the round. Though I am enjoying the game-play so far. will rate now, in case I don't hear back or don'thave time to update it again. Thanks!

UFOTag by Useless Fish 2022-04-07T03:41:06Z

Ditto most of these comments, especially the unbalanced towers. I also think the timing of cow spawns and abductions are too... slow. speed up resource gathering and speed up their spawn rate, and let us frantically move back and forth between placement and gathering. That might require making the cowers a bit cheaper and weaker (post original strength update), but the end result should be that I feel like I'm flying everywhere around the map trying to keep these darn bombs from killing me....

Dino Defense by 3BT 2022-04-05T02:21:35Z

I'm going to quit while I'm ahead haha. If I was smart I would design my base in lines and have a set path to walk. This is more a logistics game than a tower defense in some ways. In that sense, it's actually quite unique and innovative. Other than that, it's a decent tower defense game. Capturess my inner TD desires well.

Thanks for a fun entry!

[Don't] Prune the Money Tree by Orionhart 2022-04-05T02:05:41Z

Weird. Very weird, haha. I haven't been so.. confused by a money tree before. The wavy effect is trippy and I have a rough time clicking pieces of limbs to trim. Turns out you should wait a bit right off the bat haha.

Anyway, I got a few upgrades, seems like staying not upgraded as long as possible was actually the way to go for me.

I felt so powerless to save my tree.... Overall very creative, though as a game, I feel almost depressed after being such a mean, cold-hearted, ineffective caretaker :house_with_garden:

Shutting Down by MrOrry 2022-04-05T00:57:10Z

Holly crwap. I can't type my fingers are litterally shaking right now, lol.

That had me gut busting all throughout the house. Almost woke up the kiddo. Your button game is a masterpiece, especially the in game assets. I like the credits being built-in. I didn't figure out what the button does yet, but I don't think my fingers can handle it. Also, I suck at pong. Really suck when I'm using literally a laptop trackpad mouse and a right hand real mouse to click at double speed to keep up.

Your joke was gold, and so was the background that inspired it.

Thank you! That was a great time, played 3 times before my fingers gave up, though I didn't realize that I should just mash at the start to get the text to go by fast. I sat there from 10->2 like for 30 clicks haha.

Brakeless by silkmeloni 2022-04-05T00:36:58Z

Hello! The game on itch.io seems to have no download button. Looking forward to playing!

Brakeless by silkmeloni 2022-04-05T01:44:11Z

Alrighty, played the windows version. Worked like a charm. Unity definitely did the heavy lifting here. I liked that I actually had to worry about crashing and that I would have to restart if I got stuck. Because it made me so much more cautious about where I drove while exploring. The cart sound I swear is from like N64 MarioKart.... Half expected a Mario "woohoo!" sound at some point.

The overall theme is only slightly there, the fun is decent, the mood is low, but the city layout was fun at least. Not my favorite game, but definitely worth a moniker of "Game" and definitely one that I bothered to finish. Thanks!

Wreck at Delta Blue by Alex Stewart 2022-04-07T01:49:30Z

So I can't tell how fast I'm going, and I can't tell what the samples are?? I've run into the asteroids successfully at least, but I can't tell which are the "samples" and how to "sample" them...

Overall, very weird graphical effects, very immersive except that looped engine sound haha. Needs music, something like https://freemusicarchive.org/music/koi-discovery/origin, that particular album is CC0, meaning public domain. Should take 15 minutes to add music to any LD game :)

Hey no worries, programming is hard ;)

Robster by Duckwings 2022-04-06T04:12:22Z

Beginners luck: I killed a robot and machine first game no problem.

Died 6 more times immediately after....

Explored during that time. Adjusted the strategy: *just hide*. in that long hallway....

I'm typing this as I survive ;), 194 and counting....

In all seriousness, it's a good game, because of the restrictive sight, the scary robot sounds, and the goal of defeating machine generating spots. (245)

So I made a pact with myself that I will continue to give a review until I lose. Hopefully these little guys have more than pure random AI....

Hurm... I wonder if I can do ascii art while I wait. (340)
