I was tempted to see what happens if you let it count to Zero :D Really nice ending. And really nice entry! Congratulations for your first game.

My finger hurts from so much clicking. It's so delightfully frustrating.

quinn-patrick 2022-04-05 00:54

This is really solid and really funny, seriously impressive if it's really your first game. It is a little bit repetitive, though. It gets hard to read the text when I have to click the granny over and over again. That's really my only complaint.

Holly crwap. I can't type my fingers are litterally shaking right now, lol.

That had me gut busting all throughout the house. Almost woke up the kiddo. Your button game is a masterpiece, especially the in game assets. I like the credits being built-in. I didn't figure out what the button does yet, but I don't think my fingers can handle it. Also, I suck at pong. Really suck when I'm using literally a laptop trackpad mouse and a right hand real mouse to click at double speed to keep up.

Your joke was gold, and so was the background that inspired it.

Thank you! That was a great time, played 3 times before my fingers gave up, though I didn't realize that I should just mash at the start to get the text to go by fast. I sat there from 10->2 like for 30 clicks haha.

@quinn-patrick The Grannies running over the text is an issue I couldn't resolve in time. Thanks for the feedback!

I love the take on the theme with this game! Had a lot of fun playing, funny dialogue with some simple but effective art. Great job!

tsugumi 2022-04-06 05:24

I love the idea about this game. just keep pressing the red button!

pordrack 2022-04-06 15:55

**Spoilers ahead** -A very fun and clever game over all, the dialogues are well written and the "traps" pretty smart, kuddos to the blue button. -However, I have some slight details to report : the game exe is called Ludum.exe and not "The Button.exe", same goes from the window which is named "Ludum (DEBUG", also, the icon is et to the default godot one while the button as an icon would have been a nice detail. The grandmas are in front of the next, and I think that the lack of sound, even just "Typewritters" sound for the text or click sound for the button, lessen the impacts of the players actions. -The fact that the game is windowed made me click outside of the screen once

But besides these nitpicky details, I had a good time, despite the fact that after 5 tries, I only got the the green button.

I keep crashing it after the blue button, i think if you somehow click two things at once it doesn't know what to do. Definitely fits the theme.

mrorry 2022-04-08 03:23

@raptor851 Never trust the blue button ;)

I loved the public domain wool It gives the game the touch

wouter52 2022-04-09 19:03

Hahahaha the way the game just closes when it's over is priceless :') I like your game, although just for once I think. The public domain wool is funny. Well done! Maybe some music or sound effects would give it a bit more flair

P.s. Please use .zip instead of .rar, not everyone can afford WinRar you know

wizard 2022-04-09 19:03

Annoying grannies is now my new favourite thing to do in a game. Well done.

skleembof 2022-04-09 23:54

Nice little experience, the only thing it was really missing was some audio (maybe even some narration)

zimny11 2022-04-21 11:17

Congratulations and welcome to the Ludum Dare community! Really funny game. Love the pong :) Only sound/music is missing. Great job!

alpharock6 2022-04-21 15:01

The humor reminds me a bit of the older flash games like The Impossible Quiz. Really nice job especially for a first entry!

okamit 2022-04-21 19:51

Interesting idea, kind of similar idea as "Click to continue"

My only real suggestion for next time as of now is to export a web build and upload it to a website such as itch.io, since that will make more people willing to take the time to play your game if they can play it directly in the browser!

Nice work!
